Ted had offered to come with her.  She’d told him not to.  Simultaneously, she felt regret and relief at this.  Regret in that she desperately craved the comfort he so effortlessly exuded.  Relief in that she didn’t trust that her father wouldn’t be firing off Killing Curses if he had. Father stood stock still.  His hands were thrust deep within his pockets, and Andromeda was sure one was gripping his wand.  But he did not move.  Every muscle in his body seemed tensed—poised to spring—but he did not move. The clock on the mantel ticked.  The only sound.  The only evidence that time continued onward.  It echoed around Father’s study. He didn’t look at her—his eyes were fixed upon the ornate Turkish rug, and if one had walked in at that moment, from his expression one would have thought the carpet had just been heard speaking the most inexcusable profanities. Andromeda kept her chin held high.  She forced herself to stay still, not to shift her weight, not to fidget with the new ring on her finger.  For better or for worse, she was her father’s daughter, and so, despite the pounding of her heart and the coldness of her fingertips and the subtle trembling of her arms, she kept her chin held high.  “Say something, Papa,” she demanded. He did not immediately respond.  When he did, it was not with words.  Instead, he merely walked to the door of his study, twisted the handle, and held it open for her.  Still, he did not look at her.  Still, he did not speak. He didn’t need to.  Nor did she.  There was nothing more to say. The response did not surprise her.  Her bag was already packed and waiting for her in the foray. What did surprise her was how much it hurt.

Does anyone ever think that Remus was in his 3rd or 4th year of hogwarts when Nymphodora was born and be like, what the hell was jkr thinking?? I'm back talking about Harry Potter and Snape's worst memory because while I hate the author y'all bug me.

Snape worst memory isn't James bulling him or string him up in front of the school, (that was bad I'm not saying it wasn't) it was Lily ending her friendship with him because he called her a Mudblood. With evidence.

To prove my point we have to go read the Deathly Hallows when Snape gave Harry his memories! We get to see the scene again but this time the thing that sticks out the most is Snape calling Lily a Mudblood. Now if that's not enough proof the next memory goes like this.

Snape: I'm sorry

Lily: I'm not interested

S: I'm sorry!

L: save your breath... I only came out here because Mary told me you were threatening to sleep here.

The next memory is Snape becoming a turn coat for Dumbledore so he could keep Lily safe because Voldemort wouldn't spare her.

Snape has had worse experiences then a teenage James Potter being a bully (even if it was shitty). so we look at the rest of the memory and lo and behold what do we see? The actual worst moment of Snape life, the moment he lost Lily forever.

When did Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks fall in love?

Here is my proposal: 

As they grew closer, Remus lamented missing his moonlight runs with the Marauders, the best times of his largely depressing live. Empathetic and adventurous, Tonks was already experimenting with her Metamorphmagus abilities for her undercover work with the order, using potions and spells to enhance her natural shape-shifting abilities. One full moon, she surprised Remus with a new trick, morphing into a wolf. Once she'd reassured him that she had not actually infected herself with the Lycan curse, they took off into the woods. Tonks amused Remus and herself by changing her fur color from red, to black, to purple, to pink, and so on throughout the night. That was the night Remus and Dora confessed their feelings for each other.

Tonks would later join Remus on some undercover missions infiltrating the werewolves, taking a tawny brown tint similar to her natural hair color. After a close shave, Remus refused to let her join him on such missions anymore, and this kickstarted her anxiety for his safety and depression. Once they officially hooked up and she regained her powers, they took to the Forbidden Forest for another run after Dumbledore's funeral.

I wanted to have a picture of Teddy Lupin and Victoire Weasley to accompany this one, since both had a history with werewolves on their fathers' sides, and shape-shifting on their mothers'. (Recall that Veela can transform into monsters.) Unfortunately I came down with a bad cold, and was lucky to get this picture done in time for Valentine's Day. 

Edit: It took over a year but I finally fixed the wolves' ears.

no but ur so right because!!! i’ve been sleeping on this for a while but let’s talk about remus’ personality traits and how they have the potential to make him a bad/absent partner, at best, and an abusive one, at worst. everyone wants to turn him into this image of perfection just bc he’s such an ‘uwu victim’ figure in fanon but that’s SO far from the truth omg

(i am…just gonna put this remus character analysis under a cut bc it got unnecessarily long and i wouldn’t want u to read it if u didn’t want to lol)

so, for one, he’s manipulative. he has no combinations in twisting the truth or dodging it entirely for his own benefit. like, the man could stand in front of his dead best friend’s orphaned son & not even allude to the fact that he knew his dad. he had no problem bringing james & lily up in the most twisted ways possible to guilt/emotionally influence harry. so remus in a relationship would have the capacity to either knowingly or unknowingly manipulate his partner. the definition of gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss except more sinister.

next, his spinelessness. either as a defensive measure to deal w anti-werewolf hostility or as an innate personality trait, remus has the habit of just—not standing up for things. he looks away when his friends act like assholes, even when he’s in a position of authority (which yes, u can argue that he’s afraid of losing them but atp they’ve literally risked life & magic & azkaban for him so either way, he comes off badly—either he doesn’t mind himself, or he doesn’t fully trust their friendship, or it’s just easier to look away). in a relationship, this can manifest as bottling everything inside u until it makes u bitter or u violently unload on the other person in an entirely disproportionate manner. the dynamic would also be a bit skewed. the people pleasing u mentioned is also such a big thing that people usually overlook. when ur constantly trying to make the other person happy and don’t want to rock the boat, that is a cocktail for miscommunication and breakdown of relationships. ur also constantly putting the emotional burden of constructively dealing w issues on ur partner instead of doing it urself.

connected to his cowardice is his habit of running away when things get tough. remus is conflict avoidant; he does not like to put himself in a position where he has to take a decisive stance, especially if it’s against what others around him believe in. he runs away when things get tough, and tbh, for me, this comes from a constant spiral of self hatred & self victimisation, both of which stem from his experience as a werewolf. in every difficult situation, he centres himself & his discomfort and instead of dealing with it and moving forward for a constructive solution, he decides that stepping back from it altogether is better. which, yeah, works well for him bc he can temporarily put a pin in it but it’s kinda terrible for everyone’s who’s left behind. so i also think that remus is a profoundly selfish character who doesn’t look beyond the end of his own nose. u can imagine how those traits might manifest themselves in a relationship.

and his people pleasing!! so this might be verging on fanon but his gratitude and/or devotion to dumbledore sets an…interesting tone. it’s also another example of how he cannot conceive himself in any other term except as a victimised werewolf. the marauders did a lot for him, arguably even more than dumbledore’s token representation formula, but he never felt indebted to them the way he did for D. dumbledore also kind of makes him feel needed? validates his feelings? and that just speaks to a very twisted sense of self for me. which, again, won’t bode well for his other interpersonal relations.

also, on a very hc note, i also feel like remus just…does not have any significant capacity to love. he takes and takes and takes but doesn’t give much in return. this doesn’t even have to be an actively malicious decision, tbh, just a very self-centred one. he doesn’t realise how much he’s taking bc he’s only thinking about his own circumstances.

all of these are also just why i can’t see r/s working out in any healthy manner. remus is exactly antithetical to everything sirius is/believes in, and not even in the fun ‘opposites attract’ way. but that’s another rant no one asked for lmao
