Technically, no. I don’t take requests. Although if I see a mention of a story or characters that I like it’s possible that they might appear in my sketches or illustrations! I actually have a list of many book characters I want to get to that people happen to comment as well 😂

“What digital brushes do you use?”

For procreate I use Old Beach, 6B Pencil, and my own brushes from my brush pack! (Linked in bio)

Currently my works are very inspired by vintage children’s and editorial illustration! Specifically 1920s to 1960s.

Just like last year I want to kick January off with a flat popularity contest, showdown 2k25. (<- I wrote that in December before my laptop packed up, it'll now be after whenever I manage to get my laptop fixed)

IAMP Characters

A long overdue reference list for tumblr for ctcsherry's provinces and territories, around which we based the YouTube I Am Matthewian Project (2009-2013) and which subsequently inspired @project-canada (2013-2017).

Please note: not all the characters received human names while the project was active. Please see my post on human name explanations (and the notes for a couple of characters I missed), I have included the fanon names that I am aware of.)

While I did not create these characters, I was part of the cast/crew of IAMP from the fall of 2009 until the end, so I'm happy to clarify whatever I (or anyone else who was around!) can remember or dig up. I also just want everyone to keep in mind that the Hetalia fandom was a very different place in 2009, and a lot of characterizations do rely on tongue-in-cheek stereotypes. They have been interpreted a lot over the past 15+ years by different people. Take it with a grain of salt!

Rather than link to the IAMP wiki, which has been edited by non-cast/crew members and thus has dubious or non-canon information, I'll link to Sherry's (ctcsherry) original bios for each province. While the 2009 LJ post in Hetanada still exists, the images are not retrievable from there even with the WayBack machine.

5 Naruto Fic Recs - ♀ character POV

Here are five of my favorite fics written from the POV of a female character (90% Sakura), that just give feminism

to love what is mortal by 100demons - COMPLETE, 8K

Team 7 takes the long way home after the war.

“Change of plans!” Sakura cries out. “We’re going to get lost on the road of life, sensei!”

[dove's notes: this was so, so good characterization. The writing was incredible, as were the messy learning-how-to-be-together-again team dynamics. Sakura and all her teammates are Feeling Many Things and working them out. And it starts with a Mary Oliver poem! I love Mary Oliver.]

2. Fireworks by hes5thlazarus - COMPLETE, 8K

Sarada takes one look at the Uchiha legacy and decides she wants no part of it. Sakura, who has built herself a life independent of the husband who abandoned them, tries to reckon with how her daughter cannot actually decide the path her life takes. And Hanabi is happy to offer advice and consolation, as Sakura tries to talk her best friends into letting Sarada be a civilian.

A feminist deconstruction of Naruto, where everyone is taken seriously and treated with the same love Sakura offers to all her friends. No character-bashing, just contemplating what could have happened if, when Sasuke left Sakura and their baby the second time, Sakura decided to file for divorce rather than wait for him to come back. Of course they still love each other. Of course it's not simple.

[dove's notes: This fic is so underrated, and I highly recommend it. It's exactly what the summary/tags say. Beautifully written, and an honest look at the flaws these characters bring with them into adulthood. Not really for HinaNaru or SasuSaku fans, as the relationships are portrayed in a dysfunctional manner (Which is pretty Boruto canon tbh) I really like that Sakura was able to find happiness with Hanabi, and Sakura's evolving and loving relationship with her daughter. The feminist deconstruction and themes were amazingly well done.]

[dove's notes: If you have ever looked for a long naruto fic with a main sapphic pairing, you have probably found this fic. I must include it in this list (despite its popularity) because it is my Favorite. Mito and Sakura have so much chemistry, and the time travel aspect is a really fun and well-executed trope here.]

In which Obito does not get found and brainwashed by some really old also-brainwashed dead guy, but gets grabbed by other Iwa shinobi and spends a year in a Prisoner of War camp until after the war. Then limps her sorry self home to Konoha, about 3 months after the Nine-tails attack.

Kakashi deals with it about as well as can be expected…

The Uchiha however, while still being their usual stoic, antisocial, really-messed-up selves; do manage to somehow get their kid back into one piece mentally and physically.

At which point Obito takes a long hard look at Konoha, it’s dubious goings on with sanctimonious Sarutobi and backstabbing Danzo and decides to not put up with this shit.

[dove's notes: I haven't finished this series yet as it is very long, but I have had a great time reading fem!Obito's POV. She's well-written, as is the rest of the cast, with comple emotions and motivations as the storyline develops. She's very Obito. As dark as ninja verse is, these characters manage to find what happiness they can and support each other.]

Heartbreaking, but let's be honest; 90% of the time, the competition is simply won by the poem shown first in the poll.

You may be led to think this after seeing the current margins on the Final and Third-Place polls, but it's actually just completely untrue.

In Round 1, exactly 50% of the winning poems were listed first. This holds true for Round 2, the Quarterfinals, AND the Semifinals—they all have a perfect 50/50 split, to the point where it's kind of weird. If we're to include Round 1.5: A HAIL MARY (OLIVER) into our stats (where winner "Wild Geese" was listed second), and if we're to assume the results for the currently-running polls will hold, then poems shown first will have won 17/33 times, or 51.5% of the time. That majority is hardly enough to be statistically significant, and moreover, I doubt that either "Wild Geese" or "Two-Headed Calf" would be losing their polls right now if I had happened to list them second. Their extreme popularity is simply the more convincing explanation for their present success.

Showdown 2k24 Nominations!

alright, redoing this post now that I can give a concrete start date of Monday the 15th of January!

Nominations for the tournament are open up until the start date, and you can submit anyone who could reasonable be considered a companion, either by sending me an ask or by filling out

this form.

If you make your nomination via the form you can also submit some propaganda to go alongside the poll. Anyone who was considered a regular at any point in the last year will automatically be included, as well as anyone who was in the original tournament (+/- a couple I might miss or misremember as being a regular because I don't have old lists anywhere). The exception to this is last years winner, Rose Tyler, she will not be getting a place in the main tournament, however after the final I will run a poll to see if our new winner can beat her. (oh and also maybe I'll leave the TARDIS out but not fully decided yet)

The tournament is going to be run in the same way I did @adventure-showdown, meaning I'll keep companions from different periods of the show and different mediums segregated at first so the nicher ones don't immediately get knocked out, and slowly get mingled together. The exact details are going to depend on just how may characters get included.

Errm yeah, so go wild, nominate whoever you like (as long as they are a companion). If they are from teh TV show they have to be on this list to qualify, and for EU companions I'm going with them needing a TARDIS wiki page, and also I will give them a quick proof read to make sure they pass, the bar is low but it is there

Companions who's names are in green have had propaganda submitted for them, if they're not in green then they don't, and just because someone has propaganda doesn't mean i wont accept more
