I love imagining the scenario where one of Bruce's kids is getting married but no one knows Bruce's identity and it creates shenanigans. Like for example, Dick is marrying Starfire and she doesn't know Bruce's identity.

And they of course want Bruce at the wedding since he's Dick's dad, but they also want a hero as security due to the nature of the wedding, not only as a wedding between two heroes but also a Wayne wedding (not to mention holding a wedding like that in gotham is never easy) which is a pretty big deal in both respects and garners a lot of attention to be the perfect opportunity for a villian attack. So Starfire and Dick decide to request a justice league member there as security. Some heroes are eliminated due to them already being meant to attend as guests who are meant to be able to enjoy the wedding and some already have missions that need their attention, like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter are busy off-world, Shazam and HawkGirl are busy with a villian who's been on the run, and Superman is supposed to be doing press for the wedding as Clark, so they decide to give the task to Batman seeing as he's more than qualified and is already accustomed to the area (gotham), he can't figure out a way to decline the mission without risking his identity being leaked since he really has no reason to not be able to do it, except of course saying he has civilian business, on the day of the wedding, at the exact time of the wedding.. yeah hell no, Batman is way to paranoid to say something like that! So he agrees to do security as Batman for the wedding while also agreeing to attend the wedding as Bruce, ya' know, so people don't suspect anything about his identity due to the situation.

And before you ask yes Dick has realised the situation but no he is not helping Bruce out of it because its fucking funny to him, and none of the other batkids agree to where the suit for the day since they're also guests and they also find the situation funny as hell. So cue Bruce trying to constantly switch between making appearances as Bruce and doing security as Batman, like the classic sitcom episode where the person has to constantly switch between one date to the next, but it's Batman just trying to enjoy his kid's wedding.

Live action DC shows and movies have done the same thing to the justice league as they did to the teen titans

like they’ve shown one version of the justice league (the trinity, flash, cyborg, and aquaman) and taken that as gospel rather than looking into other fun league members

Animated shows like Justice League (to an extent) and Justice League unlimited are amazing in the fact that they include other members, people like hawkgirl, john stewart, and martian manhunter who a lot of people don’t know (in the fact that if i asked someone who didn’t read comics they probably couldn’t tell me anything about the characters)

The live action Justice Leage in particular does a good job of making out that they are the founding JL members (they. are not. that would be the trinity, flash (barry allen), gl (hal jordan in most continuations), and martian manhunter)

Swapping out Hal and J’onn for Vic and Arthur is so annoying to me because you’ve got 2/3 of your Spaceboys™️ and replaced them with a badly developed Aquaman, and Cyborg who most of your target audience know and are familiar with as a Teen Titan

Honestly every single movie with Hal and Barry has disrespected them so heavy and treated them as comic relief (most notably the Flash and the DCAMU as a whole) but to leave out all GLs as a whole is insane (rip guy gardner, gone AND forgotten)

And with the Teen Titans, they!ve done the exact same thing

People ignore the fab five (robin, speedy, aqualad, wondergirl, and kid flash) in preference of the overused and overmarketed tt/ttg 5 (robin, beast boy, cyborg, starfire, and raven)

People have been asking and asking for literally any fab five content, especially with more teen titans media in the works, but instead they go the route of the popular, marketable characters

I���m not sure if its because non comic readers don’t know the fab five, or if its because they’re not all perfect people, or whatever, but its a massive fuck you to actual comic readers

The fab five are such big parts of so many teen titans development, and though they are so very briefly mentioned in the Titans show i don’t even think that counts because it was. uhm. (and also no wally or roy + garth was blonde and died so BOOO)

I think personally a fab five tt show, with other ntt + future tt/titans members as side characters or just cameos would be such a cool way to go about it, or even a show based fully around New Teen Titans or Titans would be a way to diverge from the tt we all know and (kinda) love

Imagine a birdflash wedding fic where dick and wally have invited some of their civilian friends (wally's from college or his job and dick the few non-corrupt coworkers from the police station) in addition to the supers who would have been invited. So you have all of the big hitters of the justice league, the yj team, maybe the titans, the entire batclan, then just a few random civilians. And then some villian or alien or something crashes the wedding (as they tend to to because they have perfectly plot-important timing) and of course the heroes have to do something bc they can't just let these civilians get hurt (plus, what are they supposed to do, just sit there pretending that the wall wasn't just blown to pieces?), they start to fight back. Meanwhile the civilian guests are freaking out because why are there so many superheroes here? What could this many superheroes have to do with wally west (a goofy college kid/mechanical engineer/car mechanic/whatever you have his job be) and dick grayson (public figure and blüdhaven cop)? What do these two do to get so much attention by the hero community.

For this to really work well though, you kinda have to assume that dick and wally aren't going to join in with the fight to protect their identities bc they know these civilians and some of the heroes who would be there would have some pretty unremarkable civilian identities to complete strangers. I mean obviously these people would know Bruce Wayne, his kids, Clark Kent, Oliver Queen. On the other hand, people like John Jones, Barry Allen, and Hal Jordan could easily be looked past as long as they weren't going around introducing themselves to these civilians previously. Others still, like Diana Prince and Arthur Curry who don't really have much of a secret identity to start with (they don't really hide that they are superheroes) wouldn't even have to worry about it. And who's to say that some stray batarangs don't appear without anyone seeing who threw them?

Anyway, if anyone knows of or is planning on writing a fic like this, let me know the name.

Do you think the general public in the dc universe knows all the superpowers of each hero in their own city (or the bigger heroes). I just thinking, heroes probably don’t advertise their powers or what abilities they have so the flashier and more used powers are more well known, but the subtle, or not outward powers are probably more obscure knowledge or speculated on.

Just imagine like people making Wiki articles or known powers of each hero and getting in debates of what powers so of them have. Like on Reddit there is a long ongoing article of weather or not Superman has super-hearing and x-ray vision or has echolocation. Like when Batman first showed up some people adamantly thought he was a shadow demon or could control darkness, and there still resents of that with like people trying to spread ‘gotcha facts’ that Batman can actually control clouds and that is why it’s always overcast in Gotham. Or like ‘Top 10 Superpowers you didn’t know these Justice Leaguers had’ videos and on there is like, “Martian Manhunter has Telepathy, there has been reports from people who he has saved of him talking to them in their mind while saving them.” Even misconceptions of what group a hero is a part of. Like some people adamantly believe Starfire is a Super just from a different family and that’s why her powers are just slightly off, like they confidently believe that Tamaraneans is just the group of Kryptonians she is from and refuse to do any research or listen to new information.

Just the general public in the dc universe speculating on things about the heroes that wouldn’t be as well know or known really at all by the general public.

One thing I really enjoy about manhunts is when Dream begins his devious plans. No words needed, just the very slow reveal of the material-gathering and carryout of whatever scheme he's cooked up.

Thinking particularly of 3 Hunters Grand Finale where the hunters are in the End, setting up a trap, and Dream spends about 3 minutes of video just slowly gathering up sand without revealing what his plan is until the very end when he's at the portal and starts stacking up TNT. There's clues if you can put it together, when he finds the desert temple and disarms the trap, but you don't know what he's going to do. The slow reveals are the best part.
