complaints and feedbacks about the game

so far i find that most people are just, okay with how the game is going. they don't exactly provide any feedbacks nor do they criticise Black Shepherd Games for railing almost every deadline they give themselves.

but people need to understand that the game is in demo, and this is one of the most crucial times for it to receive feedbacks; to inform that the writing is off, or how a mechanic in the game is being weird. so dont be afraid to give your feedbacks, we do it because we want the game to be better and we care about the golfball ‼️

i. a save file

this is like, one of the things everyone's been asking for. but i still think it's kinda stupid that it's already day 4 and we still dont have a save file.

ii. the sprites.

im well aware that fuboo wants her game to have a lot of sprites — but just changing his expressions without making changes like tilting his head even a little is not it. it looks like he has joint problems. also! some of the sprites have colours leaking out of their lineart so that's something

iii. the game updates

fuboo tends to just inform of their progress on patreon half-heartedly. well, at least when i was still paying. it's frustrating! i want to know more details about the game. not just:

mind you they were already pretty late on finishing up day 4 around this time too. do a monthly update of the game with details or something, show us that progress is being made and be strict with your deadlines.

v. deadlines deadlines deadlines

please please please adhere to your own deadlines. this ensures that the game progress is flowing smoothly. if day 1 - day 4 have taken this long, how long should we expect for the game to be finished, really?

vi. the writing

i dont even need to touch on how out of character YB has been after day 3. some people like it, some people dont. a problem i have with it is the fact that they basically forgot how they wrote about him on tumblr :/ like, why waste so much potential and material? the first red flag was how he reacted when you name him after yourself back in day 1. so it made me wonder...

who's really writing this game?

vii. invest in proofreaders

i dont know if they already have one but last i checked 'pigeons' was still spelled as 'pidgeons' back in day 1.

viii. mechanics

an important part of a demo is to show the mechanics of how a game works. this means your main ones shouldn't have a problem by now that you're knee deep into progress. have an audio toggle, have a log for the progress your players have made, give more features to the settings. the mechanics of a game is the backbone of it, if you fuck it up early then it's gonna be a while for you to fix it

i think thats all ive got for now, do inform me if there's changes that theyve made which im not aware of. other than that we should remember that the game is supposed to interconnect with the blog, and thats where the source material should've been from (and stick with it)

The funniest interaction in svsss is still when Shen Qingqiu was saving Liu Qingge in the caves and all he kept thinking about was: "I imagined this guy would be all rugged and ugly but I guess his sister is a 10 so why should he be any less? Damn, he's so fine.... with that jawline and the nose and the silky hair... If I were a woman I'd be bouncing on him silly style. Without question. No homo tho! :)" And then just moved on with his day???

Oh! I think if implementing some mini games into it would be pretty cool too (though I know it'd be a lot of work)! Maybe at least one for each of the potential lovers? In the original game, we would have special scenes when we've successfully bonded with somebody, so these mini games would actually help more in bonding with them too!

1. Peter - Dad's Damn Diner

I think having a little mini game where YN actually serves the customers would be neat bc at one point in the original game, YB did kill a customer off bc they were treating us like shit (as none of the main cast dies). Maybe if YN won this mini game, Peter wouldn't kill anybody off at all? I think it'd help in ensuring Peter's good ending! Because in a way, we're encouraging him to not kill.

2. Lucy - Tarot Reading/RP

I don't know about you but I've always thought of Lucy as someone who would enjoy reading tarot cards! You could get high with her in the game, but the whole thing was a bit distasteful to me (even her special scene). Because I think she's actually a really nice girl who's just often caught in a bad situation.

Anyway, how this game would work is Lucy will read YN their potential ending! This would help the players to redirect their endings immediately if they want to, and give them insight on what's to come! The both of them could bond over figuring out the whole rent issue as well (whiich could relate this situation with TK).

Buut if we were to have Lucy be nerdy with us, then we could definitely have a game of YN role-playing with her? It would be a short roleplay, where the player would control YN's character and actions as Lucy tells the story.

3. TK - Space Shooter

Okay I'll be honest, I haven't gotten both TK's and Don's special scenes 😔 I just could never figure out how! But there was a sketch of TK for Valentines where they'd asked if YN would like to be their player 2. So I'm basing this game off of it.

TK and YN could spend the time together playing this game, and if TK were to win then they'd make snarky comments to tease YN. It would lean a biiit into the more romantic side. If YN were to win, then the player would be given the choice to either truly romance them, or to stay friends.

Though, by actually choosing to date TK, it would put them in direct danger.

4. Don - Maintenance

As you know, YN would have the opportunity to work as maintenance for Don if they refuse to kick Lucy out. For this mini game, I'm thinking of Cooking Mama! But instead of cooking, it's YN trynna replace bulbs or fix a pipe or something. The kicker is the small talk YN would have with Don as they're doing work. Maybe to crack a joke with him, and let him be more vulnerable around YN.

Now, OP mentioned about actually protecting the other characters from Peter. Here are some immediate things I could think of:

1. Clicking random Peter shadows in the background. At the end of the days in the original game, we would see Peter stalking us from his shadow appearing outside our window.

So let's have him turn into the quick glimpses of moving shadows in the corner of our eyes.

Of course, by clicking him off he would skitter away. Because he knows that he was seen. So I think, the longer the player plays the game, the harder it is to find the shadow itself.

But you know he's there.

2. Keyboard smash him. I think him, drugging YN, would be a better option than him constantly decking in YN's head. Because Peter just,, wouldn't hurt his darling. Drugging them would be painless. So when YN is struggling against him, there could be a quick-time event where YN could struggle and keyboard smash to get away from him. Same goes to struggling to protect the other characters.

It's a dating sim, I don't think we can do more than that hahsha

Your Boyfriend Fangame

Alright listen up folks:

I have an idea related to the Your Boyfriend game and our beloved Peter.

For context, recently I found out that the plot of Peter and MC ended up getting really toxic and terrible. Like into territory that just doesn’t seem as characteristic to the Peter we were introduced to in the beginning. I understand that’s the whole point, but I feel like it really could’ve gone better and we could’ve had a choice to fix things or whatever.

Then there’s the issue with Fuboo. I dunno what it is about creators of horror games/comics/etc being child groomers/predators, but it’s becoming too much of a theme nowadays. Y’all can correct me if this is wrong and provide evidence against the accusations. I still feel like my idea will really help bring the YB fandom back up again because goddammit I adore the characters.

Anyways here’s the idea:

We get introduced to the characters as usual like it is in the first chapter. However, rather than the story focusing on Peter, we get the choice to go into other characters as well, such as getting to know our roomie, Lucy, more or getting to hang out with TK. Maybe even cracking the hard exterior of Don.

What I’m saying is…

I want a dating sim.

It would be great! Think about it: we get the chance to romance Peter, our stalker, and maybe help him out in the end. However, we still get the chance to date the other characters if we wanted to if we make the right choices as the MC. Think about it:

Lucy, partygirl and nympho, is actually really shy and sweet when you get to know her more. She loves something nerdy or bookish, like LotR or Classic Novels.

TK becomes more than a best friend/coworker as you hang out more (I feel like he’d be a total hipster into arcade games and antiques ngl).

Don, our landlord daddy, ends up being a real sweetheart and we get to see him crack a smile or laugh if we say the right thing.

This could really work. Also, of course, MC has the choice of being referred to as she/her, he/him, they/them, etc. as well as whatever name they choose.

I’m kind of pulling my ideas from DDLC (Doki Dokie Lit. Club) and The Arcana, but I still feel like it would work.

The only thing we might have issues with is that Fuboo or whoever else created the game might use copyright rules or whatever because it’s be their original idea.

However, I feel like if this is just a fangame and, unfortunately, give credit to a child groomer, this would still work. The credit would just go to the character ideas and game, but the rest would be an original plot.

But Sage, what about the horror aspect of the game?

Well, we can still add that. Maybe Peter, when you date the others, can still be like Monika in DDLC where she kills off the other interests. He doesn’t actually do it but we could make sure we protect TK, Lucy, and/or Don. Peter’s route would just be us dealing with him directly.

Also, if we have good or bad endings, we could still have the horror aspect, like having murder or something.

I just really miss YB content and I hate to know that, once again, a creator couldn’t just be a decent human.

just sat here thinkin about older Eddie Munson. Having lived through the horrors of Hawkins, gotten out and clawed his way to his dreams, his band thriving, going onto be huge names in the industry, living his life properly in every single way he hoped.

Save for one single thing.

Never managing to publicly come out.

Like, he's comfortable in himself, happy in himself, his relationship is thriving nicely, hell they're planning a lil backyard wedding soon as the weather sorts its shit out, but publicly...

Steve is his housemate, the one who's famed for having stood up in court and testified for Eddie's innocence, who rallied respectable members of the community (surprisingly enough, his parents) to come forward to do the same, the one who's famed for dragging him out from under Earthquake rubble and shoving his life back into his body.

Steve who they say only lives there cause paramedics dont make much so it's just cheaper for him to live with Eddie in that big ol house the rockstar has since Robin has long since moved in with her partner Vickie.

They're happy, they live quiet (save for the whole, rockstar thing) lives.

But Eddie... he's just terrified. Stuck with the trauma that being mob hunted would give him. He didnt do anything, and they still tried to hunt him down to undoubtedly kill him, Jason would have killed him. He would have shot Lucas who had nothing to do with it at all, but he would have shot him. Eddie isnt stupid enough to think Jason wouldn't have shot him. Probably wouldnt have even let him speak.

That mob came for him when he did nothing wrong.

He lives with the fear that a mob might come for him again, only this time he wont even be able to deny what they're hunting him for.

Any time Maul comes across a Force-sensitive youngster: "Is anyone going to claim this apprentice as his own or do I have to do everything around here?" and doesn't wait for an answer. (Grogu is safe tucked away in Din's satchel, don't worry)

Din accidentally turns up with Obi-wan's keepsake in his pocket once, and Maul doesn't only fly into an episode of blind rage and super melodramatic monologuing, but he also gives him a boon that is nothing but trouble and chaos of epic proportions.

Age/Education/Career

We know that Goth! YB was between 19-20 years old and he's around 20-30 now. Now stay w me and be delulu w us for a second here pls hear us out

I'm gonna take a wild guess that he graduated high-school at the ripe age of 19 probably bc he most definitely is a bright student but he tends to stir troubles. Spade! YB is him right before he lost his hair from testing a bad shampoo — we'll cover his possible education/career history later. Then we have present YB.

That begs the question.. Where does this YB comes in? And why is he wearing such a fancy outfit?

I think this YB is either younger Spade! YB or the same age as Spade! YB. I'm thinking that right after graduating high-school, YB goes to college as a business practices major (Of course, he's not in college in this Ask because he's stuck in a void but LET'S SAY THAT HE DID GO TO COLLEGE)

Now I checked out how long a full time course of business practices could take — which is 3 years. That adds 3 years to YB's age, so he's 23 years old now. This also explains how fancy YB looks up there! Isn't he just adorable there? These outfits are maybe his work outfit, much slicker and smarter compared to his casual one; despite his shitty taste in fashion, corporate dresscode saved him.

Being a product tester doesn't exactly require any specific educational achievement, just as long as you know what you're supposed to do. At least, that's what Google tells me. Of course, building an audience as a vlogger isn't an easy job either. I'm not sure if he's a full time product tester, but I think he might've stayed with his internship company. He probably started product testing as a side job. Now everybody look away I'm gonna be down bad for a bit here

Okay before I get dragged for this 😭😭 I know that YB was asexual before he met YN. But who's to say that he didn't use his lack of interest in sex to profit from it? So YB worked in an office for 2 years, before quitting and pursuing his career as a product tester. That finally makes him 25 years old. Maybe in a year or so, he meets Daniel. Some time before his eyes lay on YN, where his obsession began.
