2024 Soriku week day 2 - eyes on me/when the sky is new

explanation/interpretation under the cut :3

I love when Sora and Riku banter, its like my favorite thing ever, and I wish they got more moments to be silly together!! When they were really little, bantering was fun and didn't have any negativity associated with it but insecurity and doubt grew between them by the start of KH1, leading to their eventual falling out. After kh3 though, both of them have grown a lot, especially Riku, and neither feel the need to be better than the other, and their bantering/teasing can be fun instead of bitter once again :)

In this specific case, I imagine Riku was pranked by Sora into believing he could fly without pixie dust while in Neverland as revenge for Santa, and/or Sora was carrying Riku while flying and dropped him after giving him a lil smooch :3

eyes on me - Gonna be real, did not think much about this, but Riku always has his eyes on Sora even when he's being pranked XD

when the sky is new - I featured a large amount of sky in this illustration, and the "new" part being sort of a fresh/happy start for their relationship in my mind after the events of k1/com/kh2
