Lexeaus, meeting Repliku: really? Another one?? Do you even know how to handle children??
Vexen: hey! We raised Zexion, and he turned out fine!
Zexion: …I most certainly did not.

249 is not good, and I don't even need to see the translated dialogue to know that. I literally mentioned Hana briefly in my meta as a character who'd likely had her narrative purpose fulfilled (and thus, would be tossed to the wayside), but good fucking Lord. This isn't even a good chapter for Yuta, since his guilt is unearned (in the sense that he literally did not do anything wrong with the plan on Kenjaku), and he's taking over other characters' roles needlessly. Nevermind that we STILL don't know where Maki is...eughghghghgh. Gege is NOT cooking, he is burning the house down. There were way better ways to handle a Yuta & Yuji team-up...and we're missing proper foreshadowing for a certain development in this chapter.

I'm definitely biased as a big fan but damn, some people really don't get KH huh. And I don't mean they don't understand the plot and worldbuilding (though sure they don't get that either), I'm talking about how they're like "KH isn't about anything, there's nothing to really like about it aside from the combat and music, most people are probably in it for the nostalgia and the story isn't really a story anymore, because it has no interesting character arcs or ideas, basically KH1 and 2 were good but Nothing Else Was" and like... Okay... I don't know how to explain my exact problems with this kind of criticism but to me it feels like They Don't Understand KH. I don't know where I was going with this

Bain: I thought it would be fun to get to know the newest heister, Joy, better. So I asked her about the game she was playing at the time...
Bain: For the last five hours she’s been explaining me the plot of Kingdom Hearts and I don’t know what's happening anymore

The fact that Sora got a singing minigame in Kingdom Hearts and Roxas, voiced by Uchiyama Kouki and THE Jesse McCartney, didn’t?

i love sora kingdomhearts and i wholeheartedly believe that he solos half of the ff-verse, but let's be real here, taylor swift would absolutely BODY him. just erase him with one all too well (10 minute version) (taylor's version) (from the vault). squash him with a single my tears ricochet live from the eras tour performance. and then proceed to laugh in a mastermind, 1.8 meters tall (WHAT THE FUCK ARE FEET AND INCHES) sort of manner.

DLC’s shouldn’t be allowed and here’s why:
It’s a money grab. It’s a shitty shitty way for game developers to fill in plot holes at the expense of your wallet. Games are becoming 130-150$ now because of “fix it” dlc’s.
Final Fantasy 15 was my first experience with this issue. You go through the entire game, (which is very short if you don’t do any of the quests), and among the way everyone in prince sasukes group disappear with no explanation and then come back changed in some sort of way.
And then, a couple months later, square drops a DLC for everything that happened to these characters.
This is by far, the shittiest piece of writing ive ever witnessed. They INTENTIONALLY set up a dlc to fix these plot holes when they could have added them into the game.
My second encounter was with the new kingdom hearts 3 dlc. I paid 40$ for this dlc on top of the already 90$ game. And the dlc was mainly recycled cutscenes I had already seen, fight scenes I had already done, with only a little bit of tweaking.
And the tweaking was once again, to fix their plot holes.
But the thing is, they set up these plots holes this way. They do this on purpose. They do it for a money grab. DLC’s at MOST should only be for add on items and quests, not directly linked to the story line.
Breath of the wild is an excellent example of how to do a DLC correctly. Nothing they added corresponded directly with the story line. It was HOURS of exploring for new items and finishing challenges/quests. Botw was a complete game before the dlc, and it was a complete game after the dlc. There were no plot holes, there was no confusion. You had the choice to get the dlc. It didn’t come to being forced to get it in order to understand the story more. You got a fulfilling ending that you understood completely.
Anyways, square enix is getting really problematic and I’m REALLY starting to hate their games because over all, they’re just not satisfying. 150$ game isn’t worth 30 hours of game play. When you add a dlc corresponding to the story line, there’s a period of ultimate confusion and unsatisfaction because you’re missing CHUNKS of information that they leave out on purpose.
You could never get away with this shit in a book. Never.
Just ugh. So much ugh.
