THE COMPLETE GREEN ARROW BY DENNIS O'NEIL - READING GUIDE
On The Order:
Reading this chronologically woudn't really work. He retconned his own work(for the better). However, there are notes here that would allow you to easily organize things chronologically.
There are some stories here that don't really have Green Arrow that much. You will know which ones as there will be notes on them pointing that out.
The Retconned Story and The Retcon Story:
To read chronologically without facing contradictions, just skip JLA #75 and DC Super-Stars #17, And instead read Peacemakers and The Arrow and the Bat before JLA #66.
PRE-CRISIS
DENNIS O'NEIL'S RUN ON JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA

This is the run in which everything starts. Anarchist Green Arrow, Black Canary in the League, GA and BC relationship...
He doesn't show up in 3 issues of the run(70, 73-74).
This run is also very important for Black Canary. And their relationship. This is where everything starts. Black Canary on the JLA, anarchist Green Arrow. BC and GA's relationship...
Justice League of America #66, 68-75, 77-83
GA doesn't show up in 3 issues: #70, 73-74
The latter part of this run was released during the beginning of GL/GA
PRE-CRISIS ORDER:
The order here is the DCUGuide order.
JLA #66, 68-75, 77-80
Green Lantern #76-77
JLA #81
Green Lantern #78-79
JLA #82-83
Green Lantern #80-83
Superman #236(b)
Here my bias showing. It's a short story about Krypton. GA and BC are listening to Superman telling this story. I really like this one. It's worth checking out. You get cool moments for GA and BC in the first and last page of this.
Green Lantern #84-86, 89
The Flash #217-219(b stories)
Green Lantern #90-99
DC Super-Stars #17(a)
Origin story in a flashback. The non-flashback part is following up on JLA #75
Green Lantern #102-106, 108-115
World's Finest Comics #256(b)
Team-up with Black Lighting, part of O'Neil's run on BL
Green Lantern #116-122
DC Comics Presents #20
POST-CRISIS

FROM THE QUESTION BY DENNIS O'NEIL
These stories are from O'Neil's Question run.
The Question #17-18
FABLES

Detective Comics Annual #1
Green Arrow Annual #1
The Question Annual #1
LOSING/SAVING FACE
The Question Annual #2
Green Arrow Annual #2
Green Arrow Annual #3
Epilogue of The Question's 1986 series.
THE RING, THE ARROW AND THE BAT
All stories from now on are team-ups with either Batman or Green Lantern.
Batman/Green Arrow: The Poison Tomorrow
Justice League Task Force #5-6
Part of Knightquest: The Search
Not that much Green Arrow
PEACEMAKERS

Legends of the DC Universe #7-9
This is a tale of how GA came to be the character O'Neil made him be. It retcons JLA #75
O'Neil characterize this as a Year One-type story
It works with the post-zero hour continuity. Just doesn't match certain elements of O'Neil's JLA run
It leads to GL/GA
It matches fine with GL/GA
Due to Ollie's characterization, this would have happened before JLA #66
THE ARROW AND THE BAT
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #127-131
Sequel of Peacemakers
It's set before the last scene of Peacemakers.
DC Retroactive: Green Lantern - The '70s
This one ties Peacemakers and The Longbow Hunters.
It would fit right after the next story.
TIME ALONE
Green Lantern 80th Anniversary Super Spectacular(d)
Last published O'Neil work.
I don't know where this would fit. I would guess before Green Lantern #172. For Green Arrow, that would be after DC Comics Presents #20

Date of creation: 27.03.2024
Includes all ships within the fandom "The Flash (TV 2014)" on Ao3.
Crossovers were included, other Flash media like comics, the movie (2023) etc. were excluded. The fandom "The Flash (TV 2014) RPF" on Ao3 was neither excluded nor included due to the results being too low to matter (below 10 hits most times).
This was originally done because of an anon ask I got but earlier today I answered the ask and then deleted the post because the numbers were completely screwed (I originally did this while watching a movie yesterday and... well). Luckily only seconds after me posting it someone reblogged the old post wondering about a certain ship on the chart that isn't even in the TV show and so I took the old chart down and remade it from scratch (which was a pain, ngl. I evaluated 77 ships because apparently I don't have a life). (I forgot your name, dear reblogger from earlier, but thank you!).
I assume no guarantee or liability for the completeness, correctness and accuracy of this chart despite my best efforts.
Includes fanfictions in all languages available, NOT English only.
Percentages were rounded up or rounded down to natural numbers for easier comprehension.
Poly ships were included.
More charts will follow. :)
Want to have a chart for different pairings, headcanons etc. in your favourite fandom? Send me an ask!
In case you want to compare the ship charts for "The Flash (TV 2014)" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow":

So I've been rewatching Legends of Tomorrow and can't stop think about the Tumblr accounts most of them would have.
Mona- She has at least 15 accounts if not more, each dedicated to a different fandom. She was the first to discover the reblog limit.
Mick - He has two accounts. The real Rebecca Silver and a secret fan page. The secret fan page is everyone's favorite fanfic author. ( I imagine he has Gideon help him upload his typed pages onto ao3)
Nate - The local lore enthusiast, if you have a question about history his ask box is always open, but he will go into long detailed rants with pictures and videos included every single time.
Charlie - it's just a compilation of rare celebrity sightings and old pictures being 'discovered' but it's just her shapeshifting into celebrities while on missions
Zari - she's on the celebrity side of Tumblr but she posts funny pictures of every mission and she and Mick collaborate on writing how the mission played out for their fans ( I imagine there is a fan-animated version of DC Legends of Tomorrow using their Tumblr post as script but its exactly the same as ours show just animated)
Ray- Do I really even have to say it? he IS the science side of Tumblr.
Gary- The creator of some of the most bizarre posts you'll ever see on the hellsite. He is loved and feared by all.
Len - The aesthetic could not be more on point. He is the elusive creator who disappeared one day without a word, never to return. If you wanted an on point character analyzation, you went to him. If you wanted the latest update on the superhero citing in your city, he was your man. If you wanted advice about something slightly illegal, he was your man.
#this is my mostly likely list of legends#i just cant see the others having tumblr#but i love this#leonard snart#mick rory#legends of tomorrow#dc legends of tomorrow#zari tarazi#gary green#ray palmer#nate heywood

Itâs been three weeks and I still have not sorted my feelings about Legends Con. So have this random, unorganized list of things that happened that I still remember (more under the cut):
Nick tried to flash (stood on a chair and pulled up his shirt) Tala and Maisie during their panel but no one noticed him in the back
On the other hand when Arthur showed up during Caity and Jesâ panel they immediately saw him and greeted him
Caity was asked what Saraâs safe word is at the Meet&Greet and her answer was âChiquita Bananaâ
When asked who they would eat first on a deserted island, pretty much everyone immediately said âDomâ
Caity and Jes kept talking about doing a podcast and asking people for stuff to talk about. Jes suggested they should just do Stabcast but Caity said she doesnât like True Crime (which fair, I donât either lol)
Adam said Avalanceâs kid is named Rose and that Gary would be a great babysitter but he definitely would lose her at some point
At the opening ceremony Caity was like âI think the last time I said I was getting married. And I did it. *shows her ring* And Jes had our baby!â
When talking about the hardest goodbyes, Caity being Caity forgot Dom left and wasnât even in the final season. Her answer was Franz btw.
A kid asked Amy, Caity and Jes if they would rather jump in lava or drown in water if they had to die and Jes was like âHow old are you? Where is your mother?!â lmao
Jes recited the condolence card from Meet The Legends to the best of her recollection and kept laughing
Arthur kept mentioning how weird it is that all these fans and the cast are in his hometown
I could listen to Maisie talk for hours, just wanted to throw that in here
Jes was talking about how beautiful the gold dress from 502 was and Caity replied with âAnything you wear is beautiful đ„°â before Amy chimed in that she is still looking for the video of Liv and Jes laughing at Matt falling off his chair that was mentioned earlier lol
When asked about a crack ship (Rishop = Rip/Bishop) Arthur went on to talk about how he loves fanfiction lol
When asked if Nick or Matt is the better kisser Tala said âMaisieâ
Adam started singing I Will Always Love You (forgot why) and Maisie left him hanging by not joining in and just smiling/laughing
Poor Matt didnât know about the Human Centipede but now he does
Jes came up with the pick up line âI can be your legend until tomorrowâ and then was like âsomeone try this tonight at the bar!â
On the second day Adam brought a water pistol to the panel and used it on everyone who got up to ask a question
Adam was THE hype man all weekend. He kept starting âWhen I say DC you say Legends of Tomorrowâ chants
The fandom organized a group gift to give each cast member a trophy of the Waverider. We were allowed to present it to them at the closing ceremony.
Nick was called âBrad Pittâ during the trophy ceremony and Adam being Adam stood up instead
Amy sang Future Favorite with one of the kids at the closing ceremony
Adam said something about how he doesnât like being emotional in front of people and everyone started chanting âSHOW EMOTIONSâ
By the end of the closing ceremony everyone was super emotional. Caity was too emotional to speak when it was her turn and started crying and Jes hugged her. She said âI miss you guysâ to the cast and went back for another hug. Jes was like âstop the emotions. stop the emotionsâ in reference to the earlier chant
A small list of some of the things that happened to me personally. I wonât share it all in detail here though, for reasons:
When I got my solo photo op with Caity, she saw my Real Housewives Sara shirt and was like âThatâs funny. Can I take a picture?â and then she posted it on her IG Story
Amy spoke German to me out of nowhere when she noticed my accent. She also called me back during our photo op to ask me how I was and if I slept alright.
Jes gave me this đ„ș look when I talked to her at the autograph table
Nick held my hand for like a minute which was super overwhelming especially cause I struggle with eye contact lol. He also kept lovingly teasing me the whole weekend.
Me and a bunch of people did the 709 costumes as cosplay and won âBest Groupâ. It was a lot of fun.
#legends of tomorrow#avalance#Meeting all the amazing people that I met on Twitter in the past 1 1/2 has been amazing and I miss everyone terribly#i forgot so much stuff that happened already.. especially what some of the cast said to me during the meet&greet :â(#Iâm kinda sad I didnât get to ask Caity and Jes about the gift I got them :(#It did show up in Caityâs story about her gifts though so she at least got it lol#and jes⊠we know she doesnât do social media lolâŠ#also i ran into the ppl i never wanted to meet too often⊠such big egos for such shitty personalities. gross.#their behavior was just so rude#legends con

Im so interested in how DC fits in. I am also so incredibly intereste in how HTTYD fits in like i am vibrating with a need to know
So I'm actually going to write an extremely long post about this. Long story short, most of DC has joined Xavier, including the Justice League, Legends of Tomorrow, and those few who survived the Fable's Massacre. Xavier is allies with Danny Street. Others have become Lanterns. I need to make a chart. Oh, this is gonna be so good-

SPOILERS if you haven't seen this week's episode obviously
We start off the episode with this shot of Superman with the drawn on glasses. A good homage to what Lois did in the 1980 Superman II movie...
where she not only drew the glasses but also a full suit and hat on a picture of Superman.
Next we see Jimmy waking up and seeing someone debunking his conspiracy theories on Sub-Diego.
Sub Diego was an actual place in the DC universe before the New 52 reboot. In Aquaman #15 and #16 (2003) , shown here (W: Will Pfeifer, P: Patrick Gleason, I: Christian Alamy, C: Nathan Eyring, L: Jared K. Fletcher for issue 15, Nick Napolitano for issue 16). The underwater city is actually San Diego, but is buried underwater thanks to a tidal wave and makes its first appearance in Aquaman #15 (2003). There was a lot of casualties from this.
When we get to our title its "You Will Believe A Man Can Lie" a reference to the tagline for the 1978 Superman movie.

As seen here on the poster, it says "You'll believe a man can fly".
Next we see our villain, well one of the villains, for the episode, Heatwave.

In the comics Heatwave makes his first appearance in Flash 140 (1963) (cover art by Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson, and Ira Schnapp). Heatwave aka Mick Rory is a Flash rogue usually acting as a rival to Captain Cold aka Leonard Snart. In MAwS, their Heatwave shares the same last name and powers, but MAwS Heatwave is gender flipped. You might have seen Heatwave in the CW DC comics shows where he is played by Dominic Purcell in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
Lois, later in the episode, name drops Heatwave's name. Gotta be honest when Heatwave showed up I was like is that Rampage? Cuz the MAwS design looks vaguely like Rampage.
If she does show up in MAwS, I'll talk more about her in another post, but for now, Rampage aka Karen Lou "Kitty" Faulkner, makes her first appearance in Superman #7 (1987) (full page here: W&P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: John Costanza).
Steve drags Jimmy to film his debunking Flamebird videos and references Starro who I talked about here.
Lois, later runs around with the Daily Planet police scanner trying to catch Superman and the dispatcher reports that a robbery is in progress at McGuinness Luxe Garage.

This is a nice reference to Ed McGuinness who was the artist for Superman, Action Comics, and Superman/Batman in the early 2000s. If you've seen Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, then you'll know the movie takes inspiration from his character designs in the first arc of the Superman/Batman comic series. The Superman/Batman #1 (2003) cover here is done by Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines, and Dave Stewart. I like Ed McGuinness's pencils, very stylized.
Heatwave name drops Livewire and the Gazzo mod family. Both of whom I've talked about here and here respectively
Heatwave has been running away from Deathstroke here who has been taking our her crew. Notice that Slade Wilson doesn't have the half black half orange helmet yet that almost every Deathstroke depiction always has.
He, Amanda Waller, and the General who I totally think is General Sam Lane, Lois's dad, are fans of DBZ cuz of the scouters they're wearing.
Later in the scene we see the General again he's totally General Sam Lane. I'll talk more about him when we get a double confirmation through a name drop/reveal in a later post calling Amanda Waller, Mandy. What a fucking bold thing to say to Waller! Like damn! power move right there!
Superman and Deathstroke are fighting under a highway and we see the traffic is heading to Bludhaven!
Very good reference to my favorite character in all of pop culture, Dick Grayson aka Nightwing. Nightwing makes Bludhaven his city to protect. The city makes its first appearance in Nightwing #1 (1996) (the panel here - W: Chuck Dixon, P: Scott McDaniel, I: Karl Story, C: Roberta Tewes, L: John Costanza). Fun Bludhaven fact, its crime rate is WORST than Gotham! Also HIGHLY recommend reading the new Nightwing run cuz its fucking amazing! Won a few Eisner Awards (think the Oscars but for comic books) recently and I am not just saying that because I am a Dick Grayson fan.
Near the end of the episode, we see Lois willing to jump off a building to prove that Clark is Superman. A lot of discourse was happening online over this, but I do want to say this is pretty on brand for her to do.
In Superman II, Lois does something similar and Clark saves her. its just in MAwS, Clark flies to save her thus ruining the secret identity, while in Superman II, Clark does save her but he is still able to get away with it thanks to him playing it more subtly.
Don't know why people we're in such a fucking fit over something that Lois has done before.
In the after credits scene, Jimmy, who planned a sasquatch finding adventure with Lois and Clark, but they were dealing with their shit and Jimmy was by himself, decides to do the finding on his own and meets a giant gorilla. In the first episode Jimmy mentions an intelligent gorilla in France and my guess is this is Monsieur Mallah. You can read more about him here. If you made it this far down, I appreciate you taking the time to check this post out and if you want to see my other MAwS Easter Eggs posts - Episode 1 is here

What I would like to write about aka fandoms, characters and ships.
Info post here
I would prefer fanfiction requests with some prompts rather than just "this character and that character".
âą Broadchurch
Practically every character and ship. I would love to write about Alec Hardy because he is my beloved husband.
â Doctor Who
I've seen all seasons of New Who several times, and watched a bit of Classic Who. I can write about everything & everyone. My personal favorites are the 12th and 10th/14th Doctors, Clara, Rose and Mr. and Mrs. Pond.
â Good Omens
reader insert with non-romantic/sexual relationships with main characters is fine. Always happy to write Ineffable Husbands & other ships.
â DC
I would love to write Sofia Falcone x Reader (The Penguin) She's my wife. And John Constantine x Reader, because he's also my beloved husband. But also:
Ă Sandman
I would prefer the show over the comic, but I'm not picky. I love Dreamling, but I'm open to other ships as well as reader insert fics with various characters.
Ă Legends Of Tomorrow
I have a thing for Rip đđ.
Ă rest of Arrowverse's shows
With the exception of LoT and Constantine, I haven't finished any of them, but I know what's going on.
Ă Constantine (2005)
Ă Gotham
â Naruto
Ă Most of Batman related media
Ă iZombie
I'm up for everything. Gaara/Lee has a special place in my heart. And I love Kakashi.
â Supernatural
I believe in destiel supremacy, and I'd feel really weird writing any romantic or smutty reader insert fics with main characters. But I'm okay with everything else.
â Marble Hornets
every ship and character. Tim's my babygirl tho.
â Spy Kids
Don't judge me, ok?
What I'm not writing about under any circumstances:
I'd sooner stick a hot rod up my ass than write rpf unironically.
Harry Potter.
Sherlock.
Also, despite being a fan of media created by problematic individuals, I do not support or defend the behavior of Neil Gaiman, Warren Ellis, or others.

How do fans engage with the source material when thereâs already canonical queer representation?
Rachel Marks looks at the fandoms for the DC Comics TV shows (like Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and DCâs Legends of Tomorrow), which have been including queer characters since 2014 when the characters Sara Lance and Nyssa al Ghul shared a kiss in Arrow. Read the whole article for free, which is in the newest issue of the open access journal, Transformative Works and Cultures: âFan perspectives of queer representation in DC's Legends of Tomorrow on Tumblr and AO3.â
Marks finds:
Fans generally appreciate and care about queer representation in Legends, but they often overlook representation of people of color. For instance, pairings with characters of color get less attention.
Canon queer pairings get the most attention, but noncanonical pairings are still common.
âIn sum, Legends fans show their appreciation for canon queer representation in television by frequently featuring canonically queer characters in their posts, highlighting the positive qualities of those characters and their relationships. Fans appreciate seeing multiple LGBT characters represented on television and get enjoyment out of seeing same-sex couples being couples on screen. However, this is not all they focus on when blogging or writing fic about their favorite characters or ships. Fans want to enjoy viewing canonically queer couples and queer characters on television, but they also want to enjoy alternative interpretations in which noncanonical ships are read for their subtextual elements. Fans simultaneously enjoy watching and creating content about a show that has canonical queer representation, while continuing the queer fan tradition of forming their own interpretations of queer characters and relationships.â

Speaking of your "plurality of..." series, DC has a straightforwardly plural character in the hero Firestorm. Most versions of the character have two "baseline" characters needing to combine to activate their powers, and being able to talk to each other while combined. It's also common for one to be in control of or an expert in actually using the powers, and the other having expertise needed to use the power to best effect.
(According to a compilation video, they've even done the headspace thing and the talking to a reflection thing in some of the animated stuff.)
Not as big as Batman, though, so no idea how that works into your outreach goals.
Firestorm is a really awesome character! I love these sorts of fusion based plural systems!
I am probably not going to do a post about Firestorm, but I'd love to see other people take it up if they are interested!
My host's main experience with the character came from the CW shows. He used to be an avid watcher of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
As for outreach, I do sometimes do lesser known characters too. I think Firestorm would be a fine one as far as that goes.
The problem I would run into is just... What is the story? When I did the Batman one, it was Failsafe. One single six issue arc depicting Batman's plurality. And with a bonus story showing Zur's origin.
With Firestorm, I don't really know where I would even begin with that. Because plurality is such a big part of the character across its nearly 50-year history.

Series: Part 2 of legends of earth-4
Summary:
Rex Tyler wasn't sure what to make of the Legends when he first met them, but it didn't take long for them to become friends - which makes their murder at the hands of the Legion (mostly the Reverse-Flash) all the more devastating. Mick Rory sends him to 2016 to stop the chain of events leading up to this and Rex is determined to see this through no matter what.
But it's not easy to work with the people he's only just lost - especially when he knows that if (when) this plan succeeds, the best way to ensure this doesn't have any chance of happening again in the future...
Is if he never sees them again.

the Shade for the thing?
You know what, I'll do one for comic and one for Stargirl Shade:
Comics!Shade: Sexuality Headcanon: Bi, but has some Issues being open about his interest in men due to the whole Oscar Wilde thing Gender Headcanon: Cis man A ship I have with said character: Jack/Shade OTP! Shade/pining after a straight Jay One-SidedTP! A BROTP I have with said character: Shade/all his special boys, including Jack if I'm not shipping them, but I'm especially fond of Shade & Mik. Mik is happy to kill him because he's not his friend like Jack is, but he still has coffee at his house! Where Shade goes: "Wow you're so dour now that your boyfriend died! Well I'm great, I'm in love," which is the most dickish thing to say and I love it. A NOTP I have with said character: Shade/H0pe. She's great by herself, but I am 0% interested in Shade's grand het relationship especially when so many of his post-Starman appearances heavily feature it. A random headcanon: Falls in love so much more frequently and easily than he admits. General Opinion over said character: One of my two favorite DC characters. His Silver Age appearances are goofy fun, and his Starman retcon makes him a fascinating, complex character who is also extremely hot. I want to see more of him except seeing more of C-list faves in comics is usually a death sentence or character assassination so.
Stargirl Shade: Sexuality Headcanon: Gay Gender Headcanon: Cis man (but I read a nice fic with trans male Shade so that's good too!) A ship I have with said character: Shade/McNider OTP!!! A BROTP I have with said character: Shade & Jenny have the most amazing dynamic. He's calling her a awful child while she's knitting sweaters to donate to a kitten orphanage. Also I love Shade adopting Barbara as his replacement sister so much and I'm so sad they didn't interact in season 3! A NOTP I have with said character: None, really? A random headcanon: He likes children and, deep down, is sad he can't have them (for so many reasons). Of course when he actually interacts with children he instantly becomes mortal enemies with most of them, but that's probably the case for most adults he interacts with. General Opinion over said character: He's so good!!!! I am still amazed by how well they adapted the heart of the character, and the changes they made all worked really well in the setting. I definitely want to see more of him and will forever mourn not getting to see his spin-off show, or him traipsing around with the Legends of Tomorrow, or marrying Dr. Mid-nite, or

Convergence: Prologue
by Thelastuser What if the DCEU and Arrowverse merged to create a new universe called Earth-Prime? What if this change was orchestrated by Lex Luthor? In this story, Lex embarks on a multiversal crusade to eliminate all Supermen. When he encounters the DCEU's Superman, he finds himself struggling to defeat him, unlike his previous opponents. The situation worsens when Wonder Woman and Batman get involved. Realizing that defeating this Superman is a lost cause, Lex escapes. As the Crisis unfolds, Lex when making himself a paragon, decides to force the heroes to become paragons as well. These heroes, who have never known about the multiverse, must now fight to protect it.
