it’s 1am so let me emotionally ramble:
Gravity Falls regaining popularity right now feels like a full circle moment for me. I was obsessed with it as a child and dreamed of one day pursuing animation. Eventually realized i didn’t have the art skills, but i got close enough and am now in my first year of college as a film major.
But this would have literally never been possible had it not been for Alex Hirsch who made me feel i could actually pursue a career like this in the first place. As a child, Alex and Gravity Falls allowed me to make bad art and have crazy ideas and just be the weird little kid that i was. And i’m forever thankful for that.
So yeah, live laugh love Alex Hirsch

Promises
He should know better.
Wolfwood has seen Vash make promises, or hear about the ones he has made in the past. He has also seen the end of each one and how every single time the outcome is less than what was promised.
Vash likes to say embellished words, with a soft and determined voice that lures you into his hopes and dreams, it almost feels like a spell, as if he was calling for you to come closer and believe him. But Wolfwood knows better.
He believes in him, but Vash is much closer to being an idealistic dreamer than a realistic person like he is. He might not be aware of it, but his beautiful promises of a better future give people hope, a hope that is usually embraced with things like disappointment and abandonment.
He doesn’t think that Vash does it with the intent of looking for any of those things. Far from it, he might even do the impossible in order to accomplish said promises, but life is too short and humans are too mortal for his wishes, so in the end, most of Vash’s promises end up being empty or they come to haunt him as a reminder of his failed vows. He admires the man, for his perseverance and idealism, but he also hates the man, for his stubbornness and lies.
Wolfwood knows all of this perfectly to a tee. And yet, he has also found himself being drawn to his world. Because he also dreams of it.
A world in where his always present calls for love and peace exist, a world that is far more kind than what he might deserve, a world in where the kids can be happy and roam around without any worry in their heads, a world in where he can peacefully turn grey with age and his hands can shed the harsh callouses of his life. Who knows, maybe a world in where he and Vash can finally know the peace that was taken away from them, in where they can share the calmness that comes with the passage of time, indulging in every tick of the clock welcoming with open arms whatever comes their way without any fear.
It is a beautiful promise. But Wolfwood is a person that has to keep his feet on the ground, indulging in “what ifs” would only make things harder than what they had to be. He can’t have any ifs if he can’t make it through the now. And by the way he is carrying his present, he is doubtful he will even get to see a shed of that promised world that Vash tries to drag him into. So why mourn something he doesn’t even have, or will ever have for that matter.
He hates the way Vash seems to promise things so easily. His tongue silky and pliant, slipping divine words one after the other, promises way too big for what that barren world can actually fit.
But when Vash talks to him in that holy voice of his, when he hears him say “It’s okay, everything will be alright, I promise” so gently right on his ear, while he holds his face so tenderly making him focus on him and nothing else, he wants to believe him.
He has seen the end of his promises. He knows how impossible they are. But for once, he wants to believe it too. Believe in that loving world that will cradle them both until they fall asleep, listening to the soft sound of the wind laughing while the moons smile upon them.
So he allows himself to indulge in the warmth of his palms, leaning into the comfort of his existence, feeling the soft air of Vash’s breaths against his skin while their foreheads meet in a touch that feels like a hot brand that will melt him.
For an instant, he allows himself to be selfish and believe that maybe, that is how living in that world Vash so desperately fights for would be. Soft and warm, making him feel safe in the hollow of Vash’s hands where the world seems to fit so well. A world where the blue sky is a blanket that covers the love and care that is nestled in it like the one in Vash’s eyes. He wants to see that world.
For now, he will selfishly think that the world that fits in Vash’s hands is right there in where he is holding him, where his blue eyes are drowning in the light of the sunset dripping with love and care while looking at him, that the gentle touch of Vash’s thumb wiping his tears is the same as the kiss of that laughing wind in that distant future, where the smile of his eyes overcomes the smile of the moons.
He should know better. But he loves the thought of that world. And he hopes that Vash will get to see that world, because that gentle sight is more fitting for someone like him than the one of his violent world.
He promises to himself that he will do what it takes for that day to be possible. Even if the end of that promise will be empty for Nicholas, he knows it will be a full one for Vash. So it really isn’t that empty for him after all.
He hates his lies, and he hates how true they sound, but Vash’s embellished words are far sweeter than his bitter thoughts so they feel better on his insides, almost like a balm that cares for the wounds of his throbbing, painful reality.
He should know better.
But aren’t humans weak at the promise of love?

You know, that would be ANGSTY COMICAL if we mixed that in the aftermath of the reveal of who is the real creator, since it could be taken as the creator REPLACING characters who hurt them.
-🥘Stew
that was the intent!
i think diluc would have it easiest. red is from a hateful part of his past, and he knows that he’s grown beyond that stage. if it weren’t for red’s temperament, he’d want to try and connect, if only to gain his trust. it still hurts, knowing that even after all this time he still failed to be what you needed, but it burns him the least.
fischl would be worse. night is everything she tried so badly to be, down to her own oz. to make it worse, night couldn’t care less about fischl, ignoring her monologues about who’s the real princess. the only one she needs the approval of is you, and she’d gotten that the second she was first summoned. she does fischl the mercy of letting her keep her name, but even that is mostly at your discretion. ‘fischl,’ ‘night,’ whatever. she just needs to protect you where amy failed.
and kaeya… my poor beloved. if night is what fischl wanted to be, shade is what kaeya has to be. night is a persona that fischl copied, shade is the very mask kaeya had put on for all his life. he’d entirely remade himself, down to the name he used and the way he treated his fellow knights, and it still wasn’t enough. all of his effort was poured into making himself something that could be accepted, that could be good enough. he’d thought he’d done a good job when he was first marked as a vessel, but now in the hunt it’s clear that his palatability only ran skin deep. shade is what you need, shade is what you want, and he’s genuine about it. shade’s entire life is yours, and he was rewarded for that devotion with your affection, earning a place at your side. and kaeya had devoted himself to the hunt instead, was so blinded by his own desires that he’d ignored the resistance of his vision. diluc may hate his past and fischl may hate night, but kaeya can only really hate himself.

Gambling and casinos are extremely illlegal in Japan so I always wonder, in ghe H era, did Chuuohku abolish those laws? How is it possible that Dice is alwaya gambling..?? Or that his casino-like visuals don't paint him as a negative presence amongst civillians?
gambling is still illegal in chuuoku’s japan!!! chapter 7 in the fpmtr➕ manga talks about underground casinos, the government cracking down them and even alludes to some dice mysteries lol
pachinko parlours are a legal grey area in japan tho. it’s like how gacha games are very much so gambling but are a huge profitable industry, a lot of people do it lol. they’re regarded as amusement centres in japan and get around the law that would normally prohibit them giving cash prizes by offering vouchers winners can take to an outside building that they can pretend is unaffiliated with the parlour lmao
a posse stan can correct me on this, but i think dice swore off underground casinos and instead uses the ones that fall in line with government regulations in order to maintain that grey legality. so he’s just a regular old pachinko addict lol here’s a pachinko place he went to and probably the irl place it’s based off of lol

posters i saw today :)
ID:
5 photos of palestine-themed posters on bulletin boards.
the first one has an illustration of 2 people with determined expressions, both wearing keffiyehs and holding slingshots. one of them holds their slingshot out in front of them, evidently just having used it to throw a rock. there is a white dove with outstretched wings in front of the people, and the background is green and orange with red poppies. words in red and green say “from the river to the sea / palestine will be free.” the artist’s signature, which says “red bait,” is visible in one corner.
the second one has a cartoon illustration of a red person with a green eye on their face and 3 large green eyes on their body. they’re holding up an olive branch. the background is white, and words in black, green, and red say “all eyes on rafah / free palestine.”
the third one has a photo of a person wearing a red-and-white keffiyeh wrapped around their head and lower face. the background is red. there are illustrations of flowers both on the background and overlaid on the photo of the person. words in white say “free palestine / free palestine.”
the fourth one has an illustration of a baby wrapped in a keffiyeh reaching up for an old-fashioned key dangling above them on a string. the hand of an elderly person rests on the keffiyeh. words in red say “generation after generation / until total liberation.”
the fifth one has a photo of a person climbing a border wall with what might be a rope and grappling hook. in one hand they hold a palestinian flag aloft, which ripples triumphantly.

as somebody who grew up as the biggest kid in my class, who wore thick hoodies even in the middle of summer because it’s the only thing that really covered up my shape, no trope annoys me in writing more than the fat mc (specifically women) only being able to love herself/finding love in her body through her s/o. like. yes your partner can support you in that way but it’s always portrayed as such a Gold Medal amazing 5 star thing of the love interest to be like i love your body!! or i love you despite your weight!! and it’s like. both of those things have always always gotten under my skin because why is it such a Monumental thing for a person to love a fat person?? why is it such a big deal to find a fat person attractive?? why is it always written off as such a sacrifice ??? i don’t know how to describe it but it’s always used as a way to make the love interest look good and less about actually loving the characters.
and, the worse option is “i love you despite your body” why does it have to be Despite. you never seen thin main characters being loved Despite their bodies. but it’s different because god forbid somebody finds fat people attractive right . fuck y’all
