Sirius woke up to the sound of heavy footsteps running up the stairs. He smiled, realizing it meant Harry was home, but it took Remus shifting in his arms to remember exactly what position they were about to be found in.

Remus lifted his head and seemed to realize what they were hearing a moment after Sirius, but Harry's footsteps were on the landing. They hadn't talked about what they were, much less what they were going to tell Harry, and he was about to find them naked in bed together. Sirius panicked and pushed Remus onto the floor on the far side of the bed just before Harry opened the door.

“Sirius!” Sirius turned around and pat the bed next to him. Harry hopped up and leaned into Sirius’s hug. “Sleeping in?”

“Um, yeah.” Sirius pulled the blanket tighter around his hips. “Remus and I were up late last night.” He hoped Harry didn’t ask questions about it.

Instead, Harry blushed. “Yeah, uh. I was too.”

Sirius laughed. “Oh, were you? Want to tell me about it?”

Harry smiled. “Sure, but can we wait for Remus too? Where is he? He wasn’t in his room.”

Sirius was sure that Harry would be able to tell that Remus was in the room by the way his heart rate changed. “Uh, maybe he is in the bathroom?”

"No, it was open."

"The kitchen?"

Harry shook his head. "I flooed into the kitchen."

Sirius pressed his lips together, thinking fast. "Maybe he went to pick up breakfast?"

Harry pulled back from the hug to look up at Sirius in confusion. "You think Remus woke up early to go get breakfast after you both were up late? Remus?"

"He knew you were coming!" Sirius covered quickly. "He might have set an alarm."

Harry stopped to consider that for a moment, then looked excited. "Do you think he's getting donuts? Cause I could really go for one now."

Sirius laughed. "You know, he might be!"

Harry scooted to the edge of the bed. "I'm going to go put my bag away and then make tea. I bet he'll want a cuppa by the time he gets here."

"You're probably right. Make me one too, Haz? I'm probably going to shower real quick."

Harry looked back with a smile. "Of course. I wouldn't forget you." Harry turned and walked out of the room.

Sirius scrambled to the far edge of the bed. “Remus? Oh Merlin, I’m so sorry.”

Remus peaked out from under the bed. “You know, I’ve had some pretty bad experiences the morning after hooking up with a guy, but I think shoved out of bed and forced into buying breakfast just might top all the rest.”

Sirius swallowed hard. “Sorry, it was just he was coming in, and I panicked. We hadn’t talked about us or what to tell Harry and–”

“And now I’m going out to get breakfast.” Remus slid out from under the bed fully now, and moved to start putting on clothes.

“I’m so sorry about that.” Sirius sat on the edge of the bed. “I’ll go if you want me to instead. You don’t have to.”

“And what, do you have some polyjuice sitting around so I can be you for the next hour?” Remus shook his head and pulled his trousers up. “It’s fine.”

Sirius bit his lip as he watched Remus dress. “I know we just talked last night about me fighting for you, but this is not me not fighting for you. It’s just–it’s Harry, and I’m–”

“Harry is your priority.” Remus looked at him with a smile, and Sirius felt his pulse settle a bit. “I’m not mad. He should be your priority. It was also kind of funny listening to you scramble for an explanation. I’ll go out and get breakfast now. Donuts, apparently.”

“I’ll pay for them. You can get some money out of my wallet.”

Remus snorted. “You’re damn right, you’re paying. I’m getting myself a coffee too.”

“Whatever you want. A breakfast roll, too. Or an extra donut.” Sirius grabbed his hand. “Are we alright?”

Remus stepped closer, legs pressed against Sirius’s knees over the edge of the bed. He cupped Sirius’s face, stroking his thumb over his cheekbone. “You still like me?”

Sirius bit back the retort that Remus used the wrong L word, and merely answered, “Yes.”

Remus leaned forward and brushed his lips against Sirius’s. “Then yes, we’re alright. We’ll talk about it later, when Harry is busy or whatever.”

“I’d really like that.”

Of course, Remus is very much asleep here and it's sad enough that he then wakes up to find James Harry right there, but like. Imagine if he stirred awake so silently they didn't notice, and the first words he hears Harry say are about Sirius 🙃

So I am learning a lot from the responses to @soloorganaas ‘s Wolfstar poll, and I’m sure they will make a post when it’s over that is more articulate and comprehensive than mine, but the one thing I am seeing over and over that makes me want to scream and that I need to address:

BABES I AM BEGGING YOU, IF YOU’RE WRITING SOMETHING WITH THE MWPP CREW IN IT, READ. THE. BOOKS. I’m not saying give the author your money, pirate that shit. But oh my god, the prevalence of the lie that MWPP are basically blank slates for you to write about because they’re barely in canon....NO. This is wrong. Book 3 is literally named after one of them. We get so much backstory and so much characterization for Sirius and Remus, and we see a good deal of them and James in flashbacks. From POA to DH, we learn so much about them in every book. 

Kill the idea that MWPP are blank slates you can do whatever you want with. Kill it with fire.

Firstly James, Sirius and Remus are not similiar to Ron, Harry and Hermione for start. Their relationships are different and each formed on different experiences.

Secondly I said that Remus and Sirius weren’t very close friends, they were just friends. I’d even say that James is the one who ties all of the Marauders together. You said „we don’t have much but what we have indicates real closeness” - no, what we have indicates the exact opposite. As I said they were friends but Remus and Sirius as friends were NOWHERE NEAR the level of friendship that Sirius had with James.

As opposed to Harry & Ron & Hermione. Harry felt very very close to both but for a slightly different reasons

Let’s now see the whole thing as it is.

Just because the marauders didn’t abandon Remus when they found out that he is a werewolf doesn’t just mean they all went bestie bestie with him. And the example of Ron’s reaction you gave is completely inadequate. RON HAD EVERY RIGHT to react that way, when he was just dragged down to a house away from Hogwarts and it’s safety by an escaped murder ( at the time they weren’t aware ) and then finding out that not only his teacher helped the murderer and knew him, but ALSO THAT HE WAS A WEREWOLF. We can’t disregard that no matter what Werewolves are dangerous. Especially since to Ron Remus was supposed to be a trusted teacher.

Besides finding out that a 11 yo that is your peer is a werewolf isn’t as terrifying that finding out that an adult is a werewolf as a 13 yo. Let’s remember the situations and ages of our characters

Three great friends means they were close. But again. Great friends are just friends. It’s not as big closeness as best friends.

Everything we see in POA is how disastrous Sirius’s situation is and how unfair and terrible the Wizarding World was towards him, not how great friends he was with Remus.

„I’ve not been Sirius’s friend for 12 years but now I am” is a quote that supposedly in your opinion meant they were close, but it says the exact opposite doesn’t it?

Remus believed Sirius was the murderer. Remus didn’t check, didn’t try to find out more, all we saw is Remus believing that Sirius was a Death Eather and being very bothered by it.

James would never EVER believe it was Sirius.

Not to mention Remus WASN’T EVEN TRUSTED ENOUGH DURING THE FIRST WAR? It’s even said that they all were suspecting him- talk about real closeness here.

Well that’s be all because all the rest is you talking about POA sitiuations and headcanoning what more could they’ve meant to their past. LET’S TALK ABOUT ACTUAL EXAMPLES WE HAVE FROM MARAUDERS YEARS NOW!

Who did all teachers ( and not only ) talk about? James and Sirius. Not Remus. James. Remus isn’t even mentioned!

It was always James and Sirius. „you’d have thought they were brothers… inseparable!” „trusted him above all his friends” „never saw one without the other”

And the time when another marauder is mentioned in their context IT’S NOT REMUS. It’s Peter! Remus was never even mentioned in conversations about James’s and Sirius’s time at Hogwarts by the people who knew them. ( that wouldn’t be true for Ron Harry and Hermione. They were almost always mentioned as a trio )

Rosemerta is the one mentioning Peter: „That fat little boy who was always tagging around them” She doesn’t recall Remus being with them at all

Who does Sirius run away to from his abusive house? JAMES. Who he is so close too that parents of that person accept him into his house and help him? JAMES.

Who does James named Harry’s godfather? SIRIUS! Just Sirius.

Remus isn’t close enough to be trusted during the war, Remus isn’t close enough to actually do anything about Serius and look for more evidence for his supposed „very close friend” ( yet SIRIUS WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO FIND PETER AND GET HIM TO JUSTICE! Sirius was so devastated by James’s death that he did everything he could to get to Peter, and EVEN AFTER 12 YEARS IN AZKABAN HIS PRIORITY FOR ESCAPING WAS TO GET PETER AWAY FROM JAMES’S SON!

Sirius’s and Remus’s friendship was good but it wasn’t very close. I’d even say that Sirius was a bit closer to Peter than Remus, after all Peter was trusted enough to BE THE SECRET KEEPER ( terrible decision ) yet Remus wasn’t trusted at all. Peter is at least remembered a bit by people. Peter was tagging along, was eager to spend time in James’s and Sirius’s company, but Remus was away, keeping his distance from them, and also from the bullying yet never doing anything about it.

It’s so hard to be a Wolfstar shipper here bc I ship the post POA adult Wolfstar. The „Two grieving friends finding comfort and love in eachother instead of being stuck in their memories and falling into depression. The two friends that are both outcasts of society one because of his lycanthropy and the other because of being wrongly imprisoned without a trail and currently on the run. The one where they learn to finally accept James’s and Lily’s death and help eachother recover, and try to help Harry along the way”

And all I see, all the time, is Marauders fandom Wolfstar. Which to be frank i hate. And it’s such a weird experience loving and hating a ship at the same time. But the marauders Wolfstar is just so different and just- shallow

Those two characters were downgraded to one of their personality traits, that isn’t even their MAIN/MOST RECOGNIZABLE personality trait. I barely even recognize that the marauders Remus and Sirius are supposed to be the same characters as Remus and Sirius in the book, because they are so fanon-iezd.

It’s even worse because literally the marauders era Wolfstar has barely any grounds to start at. Sirius and Remus weren’t very close, they were just friends, Sirius was much much closer with James.

Help I need some more post POA adult Wolfstar shippers that don’t ship marauders Wolfstar, if there are any pls interact I want to see y’all posts about it.

sometimes i think about the fact that the director of Prisoner of Azkaban gave David Thewlis the directive that Remus Lupin is a gay man so he was playing him as such (in that movie) so POA wolfstar is SO cannon babyyy

I feel like I missed the memo, y'know?

When I read POA, GOF and OOTP, I read about a man who was still grieving his best friend in this entire world. They were described as inseparable, compared to twins, and they clearly meant the world to each other. This man missed his friend and loved him so much that he continued to keep his own life on hold so he could take care of this best friend's son. And that's why I don't get Wolfstar. At no point did Remus come close to fill the gap Sirius experienced after losing James.

This isn't meant to be a bashing of the whole wolfstar genre thing. I think I'd really love it if it was a rare pairing, but how this became more normal to read about than Jily or Prongsfoot (surely that's the obvious marauder m/m ship?) I will never understand!?!

In an interview with David, the actor spoke about how Alfonson Cauron (the director of POA) interpreted Remus as gay.

REASON: He thought that lycanthropy was queercoded

Why is this problematic?

Well, if we really did associate homosexuality with lycanthropy, let's follow along a scenario where an older man who lives as an outcast of society finds a liking to young boys and enjoys turning them into the same species as him. I might like to add that this sounds like a certain conservative propaganda against gay men and the AIDs pandemic. Now, I do realise that people tend to choose what to believe in, and when a story feeds into their agenda, naturally, the truth will not be sought out. I've seen so many comments spreading lies simply to validate wolfstar. I'll burst your bubble now: that never happened.

And while we're on this topic, I'd like to add that saying remadora is a "lavender marriage" defeats the whole purpose of lavender marriages. The point of unions like this is to avoid social stigma.

Ask yourself this: How is Tonks avoiding stigma and prejudice upon her relationship/preferences by being with a werewolf? She's not. That's the thing. Now, if you dislike remadora, dislike them all you want. Don't come up with bs reasons to invalidate the pairing. Thanks.

The options:

Professor Marauders is a canonverse AU where, at the end of the first war, James and Sirius confronted Remus about being the spy, causing him to leave. Shortly thereafter, they find out Peter is the spy. Remus doesn't return. This is set roughly during POA, when Remus gets brought on as the DADA professor, only to find out that James, Sirius, and Lily all teach at Hogwarts too. Will Remus be able to forgive his friends, and will they forgive him for more than a decade of silence? (Snippets available under this tag)

Royal Wolfstar Arranged Marriage is an AU. King Orion has just died, and Prince Sirius has to get married and crowned king in short order. His wedding is arranged to a girl from a noble family in the kingdom. He's not super excited about it, especially considering he's gay, but maybe she'll be nice? Remus has not really come out as trans, and suddenly finds himself engaged to the soon-to-be King Sirius. Without any choice in the matter, he just hopes that his new husband is kind. What do you think was Remus 's involvement in the creation of Marauders Map????

I am asking this because numerous fan fiction have gaslighted us all in believing that he was a core participant, if not the key person.

BUT.....

In POA, when he has an entire year, he could have shared such a treasured knowledge in helping finding that criminal Sirius Black.

Or if it was such a private information, he could have remade the map on his own or with the help of house-elves etc. Like anything. Putting efforts that show that he is really worried just like everyone else for Harry's safety. About all the dementors negatively effecting all the kids in school.

I never thought that among so many information he was sitting on, marauders map was one such info too.

Him finding the original map is such a coincidence. Like a fruit falling in his lap. And him running without thinking things through.

But either he was not involved in the creation. And the other three just wrote his name out of friendship. In that case, this is my closing argument to the debate that Remus was not all that intelligent and creative. It was all Sirius and James.

Or he had the weapon to catch Sirius and he didn't. Which is. Betraying James's memory and friendship. Peter's too. The same Peter, he knew up until this point, was killed by Sirius Black.

You guys tell me what it can be. Because if he was participants in the creation, he at the end would have learned how his friends did their share of creation. Like them passing their learnings. Etc. So dont comment and tell me that he must not know the other's portion of creation.

PS. - All those obsessive wolfstar fans who are going to say that he was in love with sirius and didn't want to use his knowledge because of any romantic reasons. Kindly stay away.
