so I just woke up from a nap unreasonably ticked off over something that happened a few weeks ago lol. and like. idk. I just wanna get it off my chest

every so often, I sell my art at local markets, right. and all my art is hand drawn. I use high quality supplies and it's super detailed, so it takes me a while to do each piece. I'm talking a full day at the shortest, and up to a week at the longest.

anyway, I'm vending at the market, and someone comes into my tent. and completely unsolicited, they tell me that one of my art pieces could be much better if I "made it more stylized." I'm kind of put off by this, but I brush it off by going, "oh, I drew that picture last year, so I've improved a lot since then!"

so then they tell me, "you should redraw it!" and start going into detail about all the ways I could "improve" my own art. mind, this is one of my best-selling prints. It's been selling well since I first introduced it. and like any one of my pieces, it took me a long ass time to draw. I used my best art supplies on it. all that is to say, I'm not going to draw it again. and idk, the notion of that really made me angry. like, who is this complete stranger to tell me that I should redo my own art?

and the thing is, they weren't even mean about it. I think they were just clueless. so I just ended up smiling and going "we'll see :)" but idk. I've been thinking about that little exchange and being kinda ticked off over it for a while lol

(Redraw of my first-ever TWSB fanart from 2021 in celebration of Sookym completing the main story [920chs]!! 🥹🌷)

Coincidentally, and to my shock haha, the author decided to drop the last four chapters while I was drawing this. Sitting there after reading the lovingly crafted ending and finally re-drawing the first TWSB fanart I ever made felt very poetically well-fitting for the occasion! Thank you to Sookym, and all of the friends and fellow readers that I have followed along with on this journey for the past few years!!

I'm very excited for the side stories and the webtoon that is coming back for season 2 on the 30th (and with a new adaptation team)! I hope to continue drawing art for this beloved series for longer too!! 🙌

This thing had been rotting in my files for a year (minus three weeks but that's basically a year). It was a redraw of one of my first ever pieces for this fandom, and I still find it quite okay if a little stiff in places, so I thought I might as well share it since I don't draw that much anymore.

And then I had second thoughts, which obviously led to me posting it anyway, as you can see, but I realized I've almost made it a point not to draw anything related to Sasi anymore. As in at all. I can't, and I don't want to, and even sharing old art feels a bit 'meh'. It's too directly linked to my long going art block.

What I mean by that is that if I took all the followers I have out there and asked them what they know me or initially followed me for, you might have a fair amount of Lis 2 and the occasional Desert Bluffs afficionados, but you'd get an overwhelming majority of Sanders Sides. Sanders Sides fashion posts even. I was by no means famous for it or anything, but at my small artist scale, it was the biggest success I had.

And it makes it much harder to go back to it at all now. One, because I don't give a damn about the show anymore. Two, because I haven't been properly obsessing over anything in a while (there was a series early this year but given the actual emotional distress I get thinking about it I'm ruling it out). I haven't had real engagement from my own brain, nor real engagement from a broad audience -which makes sense, I'm not posting for anything that will reach a broad audience. But it takes its toll regardless.

Even when I finally finished writing a long fic, I couldn't help but feel 'all this for what ? Ten people or so and two hundreds have dropped it ?'. Which is a bad way to think about stuff you write for your own enjoyment but, you know, the brain gets happy with external validation even if you pretend really hard you don't care.

And so it feels tempting to go back to the golden goose just the time to get the creative juice pumping back, and I try, and I always end up frustrated and angry and feeling even less like making art that before. I'm not having fun with Sasi. Like an old friend you have nothing to say to and yet you have so much to say otherwise, so you get a bit frustrated, you know ? Not sure I'm making much sense, but that's how it feels. I want to have something like that again, but it won't be with Sanders Sides, and I somehow just want if off my radar.

It was left hanging, then lost its spark, and then I stopped caring altogether and I most likely won't even watch the finale when it does come out. I'm over it. I wish I wasn't though, because it does feel like the artistic spark won't come back all on its own this time, and the buzzing community made it so much easier to bounce back and do shit when your brain got wired all wrong.

It sounds like I'm just bawling after love and likes and stuff, and I guess that's part of it, in a way ? Like I'm in no place to do things for myself, and seeing the one thing I used to use to get back in the flow giving me a bored sense of dread doesn't feel too great.

Yet this drawing is still good ! I find it good ! I don't remember everything, but I can tell from the looks of it that I spent a while on it ! It's nice ! I should celebrate that. So I'm sharing it. I think it will be the last piece of Sasi I ever share, though. I'm not watching the finale when it comes out. I don't care about it. I'll just keep doodling my OCs and characters from cool books every once in a while. I'll write little things.

I just really, really need to stop trying to go back to it when it's clearly not working and not even for good reasons. It was a fun ride though ! So yeah. Basically. A whole ass rant for a one year old piece of art. I'm in my bi-annual depresso mood, nothing too surprising there.

Although, I wouldn’t call this her ‘Royal’ outfit in Birabuto. Obviously it’s too plain I think. More rough on the edges.

This is more suited for casual and active movement. So likely she’s able to fight at a moments notice if she wants!

Now once again, my little personal notes!

• I thought since SMB movie Peach is actually really active already. I’d like to think Daisy is active as well…x2, with a side of wild, strength and crazy! One woman army!

• Daisy at an older age would most likely be proficient in most of the weapons that are native to the Kingdom. I’m going by this idea inspired from the fact that Daisy is known to be a very all round athletic character!

Think of a moment where you would be sneaking around at night. Then all of a sudden, a dagger comes flying at your direction. Lodging itself into the pillar behind you…centimeters away from your neck.

• There was actually one story which surprisingly, Is one of King Toto’s most favourite and funniest story in the past!

• At one point in her pre-teen to Mid-Teen years, there was a point in time where her training shifted. No more simple training! More difficult, more pressure, more tactical and strategic. Young Daisy would have had a bit of a hard time keeping up. But she admirably would not give up and pull through every time. He was overseeing a performance that would display young Daisy’s skill as she fights one of his guards. Daisy, having had enough of feeling like she should struggle, would be suddenly filled with a fiery determination in his words. And it was that was when not only did she managed to bowl over a guard. But broke a part of one of the pillars in the process.

A redraw of the timeline of Apollo's life I made half a year ago! Sadly for some reason CSP decided to completely delete poor Post-First Punishment Apollo (the fifth one), but luckily I took a picture of it before hand so y'all can see it, even if it's lower quality ;-;. If you want the story behind these designs I dumped like 2000 words about it in my og post, which you can see here!

Some quick addendums I forgot to put in last time + fun design details:

Apollo replaces Helios as the god of the sun after the Trojan War, around 900 B.C.E-ish.

Baby Apollo has horns now! This is a trait he inherited from his titan side and then quickly lost during his battle with Python. It's a nod to his first domain being shepherding as well.

Just to clarify, post-first punishment Apollo goes before post-Daphne Apollo, it's just I couldn't place them in the right order bc csp sucks

The symbol I used on Main Apollo's fabric is called a delphic epsilon! It was used as a symbol for Apollo's temple at Delphi in Ancient Greece and represented a worshiper's initiation into light.

The blue-ish silver ribbon Fall of Greece Apollo has belonged to Artemis. As I stated in my first post, Apollo spends a large amount of time away from Olympus between the fall of greece and his time in Rome, so he kept the ribbon to have something of his sister's in the meantime.

Also for Fall of Greece Apollo, his cloak is fading for two reasons. One, he's spending a lot more time performing his duties as the god of burials, making his role as one of the first bridges between the living and dead much more prominent. The underworld is pulling at him just as much as it is pulling at the casulties of Greece. Two, Apollo is not spending time on Olympus, nor is he actively speaking with any of his worshipers. This is causing belief in him to diminish, so this is the closest he has ever gotten to fading. I swear I will write a whole thing about the period at some point I have so many ideas.

The sheep 2nd punishment Apollo has is a Chios sheep! They are actually native to Greece, and also adorable I love them.
