Broken could tell from the tone in Cheated's voice, that today had not been a good day.

He walked out into the main hall, calling out, "Cheated?"and he winced at the sight of his partner, utter defeat and exhaustion radiating off of him.Cheated stood at the front door, wings slumped against his back and grazing the floor. There were bruises and cuts all over his arms, and his feathers looked like they had been through a hurricane. Lastly, there seemed to be a nasty scowl on his face that only softened slightly when Broken greeted him.

Broken smiled, and the scowl softened even more, but there was still heavy irritation on Cheated's face. Broken walked up to him, attention being drawn back to his injuries. They didn't look too serious, but Broken never liked to see Cheated hurt in any way.

Broken walked up, and gently held one of Cheated's arms up in inspection.Cheated made a sound of annoyance and said,"They look worse than they are."

"What happened?"

Cheated sighed, looking away in embarrassment as he said,"I was-making a bet with Stubborn that I could beat him in a fight."Oh.That explains the bruises.But what about the-

"Then,"Cheated continued,"because I kept losing, I said that it was because I needed someone that wasn't a giant meathead."Broken winced at those choice of words."So he brought Hunted in to fight me."Cheated finally looked him in the eye and Broken gave him a nervous smile and said,"I bet you won a lot."

Cheated gave him a brief, amused smile, before it fell back into a tired frown."He kicked my ass.Every time."Which would explain the cuts-Hunted had a habit of getting aggressive when fleeing wasn't an option.

Cheated groaned, and Broken began tugging him further inside."Everything hurts,"Cheated said, tipping his head back to glare at the ceiling, as Broken guided him to sit on the couch."Plus-that was only half of my day!I also tried to-"

"Hold on,"Broken quickly said before Cheated started to rant.He stood up, and Cheated looked up at him in confusion."I'll be back in a second.I just need to get some stuff."

"Where are you going?"Cheated asked, softly grabbing his wrist to try and keep him near. Broken's heart thumped at the action.

"I just need to get stuff to clean up your cuts."

"You don't need to do that for me."Broken smiled at how sweet his partner was, patting his hand as he went,"I know, but I want to."It was true.Broken genuinely wanted to help Cheated relax and feel better.He does it for Broken all the time, it only seemed right to do the same for him.

Cheated sighed, but let go, and Broken gave him a quick peck on the cheek before rushing off to get some medical supplies. He went straight for their bedroom, as they were both used to cleaning up the other after a particularly hard day. As he retrieved what he needed, his eyes glanced at the desk in the corner, where Broken had been drawing before Cheated walked in.

Broken liked to just draw whatever came to his head.It helped him sort through his thoughts, just idly drawing and doodling whatever he wanted.On his more-hard days, the pages would just be filled with dark and jagged scribbles that made no sense to anybody, not even himself.Thankfully, today wasn't one of those days for him, but it might be for Cheated, and Broken was determined to fix that.

He came back to Cheated, who seemed to perk up at his return.He sat next to him, and gently took one of his arms into his lap, frowning at the bruises and light blood on him.He didn't like seeing anybody in unnecessary pain.Nobody should have to bear it if they could help it.Broken certainly wouldn't wish for any of his other flockmates to live with the scars that he did.

But that's what he loved about Cheated.He never seemed to be afraid of anything, and backing down wasn't a concept he understood most of the time. The pain was never a problem for him-it was always about how others treated him and anybody else that he cared about, that people were being fair to them.

Even if it had its-downsides.But Broken never minded the downsides too much, so he smiled at Cheated and said,"Keep going."

Broken let Cheated air out all his frustrations of the day, while he tended and cleaned the cuts on Cheated's arm. He then used a salve that Paranoid had given him to make sure none of the cuts scarred, and then wrapped his arms in bandages to make Cheated feel truly taken care of.

Once he was done, he took both of Cheated's wrist into his hands and pressed a loving kiss to each one.

Cheated had looked drained but still better after getting all his annoyances out, like a weight had been lifted from him and a light had returned to his eyes, but he still froze and blushed as Broken continued to kiss up his arms, inching closer to him.

"Thank you,"Cheated mumbled, and Broken smiled and asked,"Do you feel better?"Cheated took a few seconds to take a deep breath in, and then he showed Broken the first genuine smile of the night. "Yeah, I do.Thank you for taking care of me."

"I love you, so it's the least I could do."Broken's feathers puffed up in nerves.He still wasn't used to saying those three words yet, so he distracted himself by kissing up Cheated's bandaged arms, pressing up against him, until he was leaving soft kisses against his neck.

He could feel Cheated tense up for a moment, before sighing as his entire body lost all its tension and stress, going practically limp against Broken. He slowly peppered kisses up along Cheated's jaw, then to the corner of his mouth, before he felt Cheated smile, then he turned his head just enough to press their lips together.

This kiss was soft and sweet-exactly what Cheated needed, and Broken felt him sigh into the kiss and softly cup his face.Broken felt a satisfaction at being able to do this for his partner, which wasn't something he was used to.He wasn't used to feeling this good about himself and having not sacrificed a huge part of him.But Cheated didn't want all that, he only wanted Broken.

When they separated, their faces were only inches apart, and Broken couldn't look away from the love in Cheated's eyes as he whispered,"Will you let me preen your wings?"

"Of course you can-but not right now."Cheated quickly kissed him again before he could ask why, and Broken felt himself being gently leaned back down, until he felt his back hit the couch.

Cheated gave him one last peck, and mumbled against his lips,"I just wanna stay close to you for awhile."

Before Broken could say anything, Cheated had leaned down, and laid his head against Broken's chest, right over his heart.Broken stared down at him, unsure of what to do now, until he heard Cheated's breathing even out, and he realised he was asleep.

Broken blinked, and forced a giggle down his throat at how adorable his partner was.He wrapped both his arms and wings around Cheated, then settled down againt the couch with a smile on his face, and the love of his life, safe in his arms.

Matilda and Kakania are the last ones to know that they've been in a committed romantic relationship for 5+ years. It is when their partners planned a anniversary dinner that they subsequently admit their feelings to said SO and ask if they could start dating (officially).

Isolde plays it off remarkably well. The only giveaway she shows is a (confused) tilt to her head before she smiles (blindingly, radiant, nearly knocks Kakania out) and accepts with a faint blush. This is in part due to her realization that she can speedrun the process now that it's "offical" in Kakania's mind. This is dangerous for Kakania's heart as she suddenly is on the receiving end to more physical and overt affection from Isolde than ever before, but now she is also at the mercy of Isolde pouting when she doesn't get to hold Kakania close and whisper sweet nothings to her 24/7. Semmelweis comments once that Kakania might want to get her heart/blood pressure checked because "there's no way that much blushing is good for your health." Marcus is just happy Isolde and Kakania worked things out (Isolde went to her to help find some of the most heart-wrenching yearn filled poems ever written before they cleared up the misunderstanding).

Matilda unfortunately runs away beet red when her SO's respond with "we've been dating for years now wdym?" J is absolutely no help when Matilda barged into his room, red in the face and refusing to speak in mostly English (she keeps switching to French halfway through a sentence). When he finally figures it out, his laughter only makes her feel more embarrassed, but when they both calm down, he offers to help. He's used to blacksmithing weapons, but that doesn't mean he can't learn to do small things like matching lockets that Matilda fills with the dust and small herbs she uses for divination. Unbeknownst to many, Matilda is an ardent romantic and has memorized books worth of French poetry and will say countless romantic turn of phrase with a strange amount of heartfelt confidence and loving clarity (she can only do so because they can't understand her which takes away a lot of embarrassment). Tennant manages to hear her once and compliments her dedication to the craft (loving women) but refuses to translate anything Matilda says because "what's the fun in that? But I'll give you a hint, try saying back 'Tes paroles sont plus douces que du miel, mon amour.' And see what she says 😏."

(She goes red, makes a sound much like a ducks squawk, and runs away)

"you said you love me? Haha that's so gay!"

I love the idea of Isolde standing there, entirely confused as Kakania asks her out and wants to make things official as if they haven't been going on dates for 2 whole years. Since she loves that damn idiot so much, she places all those worries asides just to kiss her and accept her proposal.

She looks back at that moment fondly as she lovingly stares at her stupid girlfriend. Kakania is lucky her girlfriend loves her so much.

Ah, Entrapdak Positivity Month snuck up on me despite me trying to be on top of things, but at least I have something! This is for today's prompt, Kiss.

im in SHAMBLES cause i always knew that the original security is gonna run you down line was between Arthur and Dom but was given to A/E later but only now I got to know that it was not “be back before the kick” in the original script but actually “be back in time for the kick” from Dom!! Be back in in time for the kick is not asking to be safe it’s actually a command or a direction; and it’s further cemented by Arthur’s reply in script; it’s “I’m on it” .. it matches their dynamic from the beginning, professional with cobb sort of calling the shots. But when mr Nolan gave it to A/E he had to change it?? Cause it doesn’t match this married couple??? So he made it be back BEFORE the kick with a thinly veiled “ BE SAFE BABE”???? And GO TO SLEEP MR EAMES ?? Meaning don’t worry about me darling I’ll be there???!!!!!! My head hurts??????

It still blows my mind how it was originally Arthur and Cobb having this moment in the script and Nolan, presumably like us, was captivated by the chemistry and quiet story of Arthur and Eames, and changed the characters around! It's a perfect bookend to their snarky beginnings, to the shot of them planning the job, you know the one, where it focuses on Arthur and Eames for "...we all yearn for reconciliation..." to this exchange. Nolan knew it was necessary, in case the audience was wondering, Arthur and Eames got their reconciliation. That we got to see them full circle.

Because the way it was scripted with Cobb was between friends/comrades. Arthur reaffirming to Cobb he can be trusted, that he's got his back despite what occurred and was revealed the level above. Lovely. But so much about Cobb and Arthur's friendship is not said in so many words. It really wasn't necessary. It didn't lend any sort of closure to the characters journey's to have this scene play out, it just didn't make sense.

The fact that the script had to change along with their characters so that Arthur and Eames could flirt and smile at each other and 'be back before the kick', and 'uh-huh go to sleep' like COME ON. It's the contrast from all their other scenes - the banter and teasing, Eames laughing at Arthur's kick tests - this scene was so gentle, so soft and so quiet. In the same way Eames didn't need to help Arthur with the projections in level one, Arthur did not have to help Eames with his cannula. He didn't need to flick Eames fingers away and help him above anyone else. Arthur very much chose to help out so they could have these sweet nothings this quiet talk.

Every time someone tries to reduce Arthur/Eames down to 'darling' I feel like the Will Smith meme pointing at all the rest of it. Like, are we all not seeing this?? It kills me. This scene kills me -- it's so important to their relationship and themselves as individual characters,

It had been... a hell of a year, to say the least, but at least Doom could say that it was ending on a good note. A very good note. The best note possible.

That note was on the Office rooftop with her and several of the others, all gathered to ring in the new year with some goodies and refreshments (all safe to have around Ed, at Doom's command) and, of course, to watch the fireworks display that Doom herself had set up and rigged to go off at midnight.

Once it was nearing that time, Doom found herself right next to her partner. She didn't want to be around anyone else. Couldn't imagine it at this point. Couldn't imagine what life had been like without him, and that had only been just a few short months ago.

They count down the last few seconds together, Doom lets out a cheer, and then she takes Ed's hands, steps closer to him, and presses closer to him, seeking permission with her eyes to kiss him on the lips. If he allows it, it'll be soft and gentle, and lingering, but not too much, just enough to convey her feelings to him but certainly allowing him the ability to pull away and end things at any time. If he seems at all uncomfortable or hesitant in the slightest, then she'll kiss him in the same way she did under the mistletoe around Christmas - chastely, and more on the corner of his mouth.

Either way, once the kiss has ended, she leans her head on his shoulder and wraps her arms around him, holding him close. "Happy New Year, Ed. I'm so glad you're here with me."
