Matilda and Kakania are the last ones to know that they've been in a committed romantic relationship for 5+ years. It is when their partners planned a anniversary dinner that they subsequently admit their feelings to said SO and ask if they could start dating (officially).

Isolde plays it off remarkably well. The only giveaway she shows is a (confused) tilt to her head before she smiles (blindingly, radiant, nearly knocks Kakania out) and accepts with a faint blush. This is in part due to her realization that she can speedrun the process now that it's "offical" in Kakania's mind. This is dangerous for Kakania's heart as she suddenly is on the receiving end to more physical and overt affection from Isolde than ever before, but now she is also at the mercy of Isolde pouting when she doesn't get to hold Kakania close and whisper sweet nothings to her 24/7. Semmelweis comments once that Kakania might want to get her heart/blood pressure checked because "there's no way that much blushing is good for your health." Marcus is just happy Isolde and Kakania worked things out (Isolde went to her to help find some of the most heart-wrenching yearn filled poems ever written before they cleared up the misunderstanding).

Matilda unfortunately runs away beet red when her SO's respond with "we've been dating for years now wdym?" J is absolutely no help when Matilda barged into his room, red in the face and refusing to speak in mostly English (she keeps switching to French halfway through a sentence). When he finally figures it out, his laughter only makes her feel more embarrassed, but when they both calm down, he offers to help. He's used to blacksmithing weapons, but that doesn't mean he can't learn to do small things like matching lockets that Matilda fills with the dust and small herbs she uses for divination. Unbeknownst to many, Matilda is an ardent romantic and has memorized books worth of French poetry and will say countless romantic turn of phrase with a strange amount of heartfelt confidence and loving clarity (she can only do so because they can't understand her which takes away a lot of embarrassment). Tennant manages to hear her once and compliments her dedication to the craft (loving women) but refuses to translate anything Matilda says because "what's the fun in that? But I'll give you a hint, try saying back 'Tes paroles sont plus douces que du miel, mon amour.' And see what she says 😏."

(She goes red, makes a sound much like a ducks squawk, and runs away)

"you said you love me? Haha that's so gay!"

"we've been married for 20 years"

"wait really? Wasn't that to avoid taxes?!"

They seem like the kind to get married and not know if it's romantic or platonic. Fucking idiots/aff

I love the idea of Isolde standing there, entirely confused as Kakania asks her out and wants to make things official as if they haven't been going on dates for 2 whole years. Since she loves that damn idiot so much, she places all those worries asides just to kiss her and accept her proposal.

She looks back at that moment fondly as she lovingly stares at her stupid girlfriend. Kakania is lucky her girlfriend loves her so much.

(Isolde is so seductive tho, whispering in Kakania's ear? She wants that woman to die from gay)

Matilda is a mess, she gets a girlfriend (TWO, how? Dunno she just pulls), she doesn't know she has two girlfriends. The appreciation for a dumbass is all.

"hah! Of course I'd have good friends! I am the best in this whole suitcase" and said good friends cuddle with her to sleep every night, give her romantic gifts and kiss her cheeks. Very friendly, very normal.

You know what, shootout to Joe for trying to help that idiot, and shootout to Tennant for making her girlfriends understand (not rlly) said idiot 🙏

Well, since 2.2 has been out for a short while, I will do a classic, and split Lopera ^-^

The Soldier, The Broken, The Gambler, and Carlota (or, "the normal girl")

The things I do for chocolate milk...

Lopera, The Soldier, Is a loyal and unhesitant girl. Her face never seems to show any emotion, just a straight poker face, she takes her orders like a mindless soldier.

Lopera, The Broken, the one who weeps at night as she remembers her loneliness and her empty, lonely fate. That poor girl who lost both of her families, who lost all trust and her happiness to those traitors. You might not see her often, she'd rather weep in silence than be seen as she is.

Lopera, The Gambler. Say goodbye to your Sharpodontry, this girl is giving it all away for a 1% chance. She's confident, daring and reckless, she's willing to bet it all on a percentage, and somehow, she wins, most of the time anyway.

And Carlota, the young girl. Perhaps that's what Lopera could have been in a perfect timeline, a simple girl that loves to have fun. She's fun, a little airheaded but that's to be expected of her young age, just your average quinceañera, a young girl that adores having fun and appreciates her family.

If they got together, The Gambler is a HORRIBLE influence on Carlota, yet they both manage to find it in themselves to tease The Soldier. Though neither of them can get along with The Broken, for she hates all of them, especially Carlota.

So i just remembered that bohemian rhapsody realesed in 1975 and the scenario that vertin would be playing this song as momento from her era (1999) and half of the arcanists in the suitcase that would walk in on her listening would be like "huh?" Like imagine your friend playing an unfamiliar song from a band you don't know, but they say its like the most popular song from a very popular band and as your about to say that you never heard of this ever another person walks and goes "Ahh the queens i listened to them a lot growing up!" And your just standing there confused as hell. Regulus fr would be so confused cause the first queens albums realesed after her era lol (She would really like them if they existed earlier tho)

Regulus would be a HUGE fan of Queens if Vertin introduced her to it.

Which actually makes me realize how impactful Queen was at the time and how half of the suitcase would know about it, the other half wouldn't.

Bohemian rhapsody is eternal though, epic song, 10/10. Maybe Isolde would enjoy it too due to all the references, or it would trigger her... Both.

Tuesday Monitoring

Girl I know you're having a breakdown but I can't help but think of this meme in this scene.

Anyways I finally finally finished the new story. I can see why a lot of people didn't like it but eh it felt pretty standard for me. I think it just has some pacing and focus problems.

Can't say much for how Brazil was represented but it definitely wasn't given a lot of focus (granted, compared to Rayashki this IS a main story so it had to be sidelined somewhat). The main focus seems to be the discovery of post-storm expys and Igor's betrayal, but even then I think the focus was split too much (like the betrayal could've been more effective with one or two more episodes focused on Lopera and her thoughts about them, and Anjo's release didn't really feel as impactful as I expected it to be).

Overall it kinda felt more like the first bites before getting into the juicy parts of a burger, you're getting something but not the best part, similar to how I felt about the Apeiron chapter in all honesty.

Anyways that's all for my ramble, I'm gonna do Anjo's story next which I heard was actually good! Then maybe I'll finally get to Semmelweis' and do the SoD expansion.

My favorite character design trope is when characters have their limbs slowly turn into another color when they reach the tip of the fingers is so epic. (Voyager you're uncanny ily)

Her lifeless, unreflective eyes look like Arcana's, she looks Inhuman and devoid of emotion, so different from our emotive Sonetto.

The details on her face are pretty interesting. I see her eye patch there, but why are there blue lines running down her face? Interesting

Actors AU: A question; how are Anecdotes produced? Are they made by the actors with help, or something else entirely, do you think? ^-^

Hmmm, anecdotes were made by other people, actually. In the beginning, when people got curious about characters and such, they made fanmade anecdotes (like fanfics or comics about characters)

The actors and producers got interested in the idea and made a separate team for that. It's not a film or something of the sort, it's most likely a couple short films uploaded on YouTube separately.

They might be different from the anecdotes we know, a 20-40 minute (depends on what it is about and what's there to tell) film that shows more about the character in questions.

Almost like indie films, but of course they do get backed up with a selected budget for each movie and the contribution of the real actors and actresses.

Do you think Arcana wears contacts to make her eyes look more lifeless, or are those her natural eyes? In case you are confused, I'm referring to the fact that her eyes don't seem to reflect light and lack a shine to them.

Hello there!! I'm glad you like these, I have fun making them every time!

Gotta give it to you, I did not notice that her eyes don't reflect light, they look really plain but in a creepy unsettling way.

I'd say these are contact lenses. Natural eyes do have a reflection or life to them, those eyes are unnaturally creepy.

I think her natural eyes would be light brown and she looks really normal and calm, you would never associate Arcana without her lenses and without the black dress with THE Arcana that's so unsettling and lifeless.
