Corsac's and Fennec's primary allusion is the Kitsune of Japanese folklore. Kitsune are mischievous fox spirits, and can be both benevolent or malevolent in nature. Benevolent Kitsune, known as Zenko, are associated with and often the messengers for Inari, a Shinto god, whom in this case would either be Ghira Belladonna or Sienna Khan. In spite of this, Zenko are still considered trickster spirits, as they are known to shapeshift in Japanese folklore to fool unsuspecting humans for various, though not necessarily harmful, reasons. No matter what side they're on, Corsac and Fennec are talented liars and manipulators, knowing how to get what they need out of others.
Malevolent Kitsune, Yako (or Nogitsune in some places), harbor no loyalty to any particular deity and their tricks are often for nefarious purposes. They are well-known thieves; Corsac and Fennec grew up on the streets, often stealing food and other supplies just to get by. A Zenko spirit can also "fall from grace", become a Yako spirit, and vice versa. Depending on the verse, Corsac and Fennec can either get better or become worse.
Corsac's and Fennec's secondary allusion is Hermes, the Greek god of mischief and the herald of the gods. Hermes has been known to assist several Greek heroes, such as Odysseus and Perseus, and is typically the messenger for Zeus, the king of the gods, specifically. Corsac's and Fennec's loyalties are verse dependent, but they are primarily Sienna Khan's errand boys and sent to assist or carry out tasks when need be.

I kinda think Grover believes Hermes took the bolt. Is just the things he says while talking about the robbery with Ares: "someone Hades could recruit, someone who could slip away without being notice, someone stealthy". Hermes is an underworld worker, even if he's not famously recognized for it. Hades could have easily ordered him to do it, he's kinda his boss if you will. He says that not many people could pull of a robbery on the king of the universe's most important weapon. You would think no one could do it except the God of Thieves, someone with a godly power of stealth who could quickly took it during the solstice without anyone noticing.
What gets me is that gods cannot steal others gods things so I'm not quite sure why is Grover so sure about who's the thief. Unless he believes is a demigod but still how is he so sure about their identity. Unless in the show it's considered taboo for gods to take other god's things rather than a physical impediment. In the sense of, they can steal their stuff if they want to is just terribly frowned upon.
Anyway if he believes is Hermes i think it's amazing foreshadowing for what's next to come. Especially if they meet him next episode and my theories end up being correct: hermes playing a circumstantial villain in this season

I'm curious because someone recently made the comment that it's only fair for Lord Charon to expect money in return for his services, but this system would actually raise a lot of questions. If you're curious, some questions I thought of are featured below.
(For the record, I still believe Charon deserves recognition for what he does; it's just the coin system doesn't actually make sense when you start examining it closely.)
Please reblog! 🧡 I want to hear everyone's opinions on this.
Not every Underworld god is paid for their labors. Some aren't even given offerings anymore, their names tragically lost to time. So, why is Lord Charon specifically mentioned to require coins for his ferry? Why not Lord Haides, for entry to his domain? Or Lord Thanatos for deliverance of one's soul? Or Lord Hermes for transportation from the mortal realm to that of the dead? Why not Cerberus for letting you through The Gates (he is a sentient being, btw, for those who seem to think he's just a random three-headed dog)?
Does The Underworld have an economy? Why does it need an economy based on coins from the material plane/Earth? How does it even determine currency value?I mean, just imagine how many different people from different countries would have gone to The Underworld and paid with coins over thousands upon thousands of years.
Does payment have to be coins, or is there maybe some other form payment you can provide? Does the value of the item have to be monetary, or can it be something that meant a lot to you in life? More of a metaphorical release of the material plane, in a sense, as you trade off something that ties you to Earth and are officially transported to "The Other Side".
How do you get physical coins onto a spiritual plane?
Why would Charon need coins from the surface world? Does he maybe just have a sick coin collection from over thousands of years of human history?
What about our ancestors who were alive before the invention of monetary coins; were they just expected to stand at the shore for 100 years for not having something that didn't exist yet?
Speaking of the last question, where do animals go? How do they get across the river Styx?
Why would the afterlife require money in order for you to enter it properly? That seems kind of fucked up and more like something a bunch of old men wrote down to declare the wealthy more important than the poor, no?
If this is really just a job for Lord Charon (who is a son of Nyx, mind you), that implies that maybe Lord Haides (or whomever oversees that) could hire others to help him. Is there more than one ferryman on the river Styx? What is their average hourly pay? How can I apply, and does anyone have any interview tips? Seems to me that it'd be based on commission.
Do you think the spirits on the riverbank get bored of waiting? What do you think they do for 100 years to pass all that time? 🤔

You know, one thing I think Fantasy High, and also kinda DND in general would benefit from is having a more nuanced understanding of how worship and belief works in a polytheistic world. Like, I’m not a scholar of religious studies by any means, but the way DND does polytheism sometimes really reeks of monotheism. Specifically the kind that comes from failing to realize that there’s a lot of variation in how people choose to interact with gods that isn’t really covered by “which god do you choose to worship?”
Like, my understanding is that in polytheistic societies, while many people will still have a patron god that they primarily worship, unless you’re a priest or a member of a cult of some form, my understanding is that its a lot more likely that you will just worship, like…The Gods™. Like, if you’re praying for something specific you would offer prayer to whatever god is in charge of that for whatever pantheon or collection of gods happened to be popular in your immediate circle. There was even a lot of overlap and you might end up offering prayers to more than one god for the same thing. Like, say your son is going on a long sailing voyage. You might pray to Poseidon for clear seas, and Hermes for safe travels, and one of the various wind gods for full sails.
Like, the fact that gods in the DND verse need dedicated followers who specifically worship them seems to put them very at risk, and leads to the status quo where evangelizing is seen as one of a clerics core duties. Like, its cool that we’re getting introduced more to gods like Osmir, who rather than evangelizing to a huge crowd of believers has a small contingent of incredibly devoted followers, but even then, I hope they explore the possibility that in a world where the existence of multiple gods is a 100% true statement, some people might just…pray to the god they need in that moment, and that Cassandra’s power might come from helping all people who are in need of her power, in addition to having a devoted flock of followers who study the mysteries like Osmir.

I will defend Eurylochus to my dying breath because what the fuck yall, he is not the malicious monster people are making him out to be?? Like these characters are so morally grey its not even funny.
I love Ody with all my heart but the man did fuck up. He is human, and a plaything of the Gods, which is a very dangerous position to be in at the best of times.
I've seen people saying Eury has no moral high ground on the Scylla thing because he wanted to leave all the men at Circe's. Now firstly, I highly doubt a simple scouting mission would include all the men (see Cyclops saga, when only a fraction went). So they would be running to save what men remained, not ditching the entire army. Secondly, what exactly did you want them to do when facing Circe? They didn't know Hermes was there. All they knew was there was a magic lady who could turn people into pigs. So what, were they gonna ask really really nicely? Somehow I highly doubt that would work. Without the Gods intervention, I just don't see them winning. Eury was cutting their losses because from his POV, there was quite literally nothing they could do for the men. Best case scenario they snuck the men/pigs out and, idk, kept them as pets??
As for the wind bag, yeah it was a really dumb decision. But Ody is the one who decided not to trust his men, especially Eury. Ody has already given up on the crew, and they likely feel that distrust. Why should they put their blind faith in a man who refuses to clue them in? Why should they believe that he has whats best for them in their hearts? Ody's own guilt caused him to embrace an ideology that got a bunch of them killed. (remember when he said the only one who's lines he hasn't crossed were his own?) And we can see some of this growing resentment in Perimedes cut song. We as viewers have context the men simply do not.
Sidenote, people say Eury would have gotten them lotus'd. Yeah maybe. or maybe Ody would have recognized the fruit before they ate it, like he did with Polites. We cannot know.
The other point I keep seeing, that I find absolutely baffling is "well they deserved to die for mutinying, they should have listened to their king and captain" I'm sorry when did we all become monarchists. Kings and captains can absolutely make bad decisions? We should not blindly trust authority?? Yeah Eury kept questioning the captain. He was second in command and the voice of the crew, not only is he voicing their discontent, I'd argue that a good king should have someone who is willing to disagree with them. While Ody is right, that in the middle of a dire situation isn't great, and it would have been better to address those issues in private, they are very legitimate worries. If your captain has admitted he would burn the world to see his son and wife, I think being a little worried is absolutely fair.
The Gods keep appearing and helping Ody but they are also incredibly dangerous beings who constantly play with the lives of mortals.
On to the cow thing. Ya it was fucking dumb. But I can understand why. The man is fucking tired. They don't see a way out and at that point, starving to death slowly, so desperately afraid, probably sounded like a terrifying fate. Better to get it over with.
And he still cares! Ody is his literal brother in law. They bandaged his wounds when they could have idk, sacrificed him to Posideon or something. What Ody did to them was 100% betrayal and I understand why they mutinied, with what information they had. For petes sake he kept singing "I need to get home", I, not we.
Again, I love Ody, but good lord, the man is the definition of an unreliable narrator. Let them all be complicated, tragic characters without labeling them as cookie cutter good guys and bad guys.

Charon
Charon is a figure from Greek mythology where he is the boatman who ferries the souls of the dead across the waters of Hades to the judgement which will determine their final resting place. The Greeks believed the dead needed a coin to pay Charon for his service and so one was placed in the mouth of the deceased.
Charon was a popular subject on 5th-4th century BCE Greek pottery scenes, especially the lekythoi used to store fine oils and perfumes which were commonly buried with the dead. Charu was a similar figure in Etruscan mythology, although there he often carries a hammer. Charon continued to feature in Roman mythology and he enjoyed a revival with other classical ideas during the Renaissance (1400-1600). The largest moon of the dwarf planet Pluto is named after Charon.
The Boatman of Hades
The Greek Charon as the boatman of the dead is an idea which may well have been influenced by Mesopotamian and Egyptian mythology, where there, too, the Underworld contains rivers which hinder the progress of the soul. In Greek mythology, Charon is the son of Erebus (Darkness) and Nyx (Night). His name may have originally meant ‘fierce brightness’.
Charon’s job was to transport the shades or souls of the dead across either a river - most typically named as the Acheron and, in later sources, the poisonous Styx - or a lake, often called Acherousia. The destination was Hades, which was the Greek underworld (and also the name of the god who ruled there), or, more precisely, the inner part of that realm. Often accompanying Charon is the messenger god Hermes, who was thought to act as a guide to the dead in Hades. Often Hermes escorts the soul to Charon, who then takes them deeper into the underworld for judgement.
Hades is described in Greek literature as a cold, dark, damp, and mirthless place, which it is everyone’s fate to end up, that is until post-5th century BCE writers created an alternative destination for good souls. Accordingly, from Hades, good souls went to the Elysian Fields and forgot all their troubles and bad souls went down to Tartarus in the deepest depths of Hades. Those souls who had wronged the gods fared even worse and were given wicked and eternal punishments like Sisyphus who had to endlessly roll a boulder up a slope.
In many Greek accounts, Charon assists heroes who descend into Hades on various challenges, such as Odysseus, Orpheus, and Psyche. Hercules engaged Charon’s services when, for his twelfth and most difficult labour, he was required to fetch the terrible three-headed dog Cerberus (aka Kerberos). This terrible hound made sure nobody ever left Hades or crossed the waters without either Charon or Hermes as their guide. Charon was punished by Hades for allowing the living Hercules into the realm of the dead. The boatman was shackled for one year, which must have left quite a queue of expectant souls waiting on the shores of Acheron.
In order to ensure Charon did actually bother to take one to Hades in his boat, Greeks buried the dead with a small coin in the mouth as it was thought this money could then be useful to pay the boatman. The coin was typically an obol and was placed under the tongue. Those souls without the coin were obliged to wait on the shores for 100 years before Charon would condescend to take them across for free. A proper burial was also considered essential to allow the soul to reach Charon’s boat. In later periods, the money tradition changed to placing a coin over each eye of the deceased before burial.

It was only after she realized she unnerved those around her, setting off alarms of warning of preservation, did she realize how special she was. Comparatively, it took Spencer Reid 1.39 seconds. United In Grief
How long can two hurting people hold on with only love keeping them together?
Late Night Concessions
Someone broke into your place; it was just past midnight and the rain was near deafening, but you were sure that was the sound of your front door window being shattered. With your phone on silent and Spencer’s number already dialed, you can only hope they’re here for your purse and tv and not the hiding girl beneath the bed.
Re-Run Special
Spencer finds love with a genius hedonistic girl who turns his world upside down, but their clash of personalities can leave him feeling a little left behind.
Play Your Cards Right
Y/n always loved Yu-Gi-Oh. From watching the show as a kid to trading and playing the card game, it’s always been a part of her life-- she should have known her boyfriend would try to learn it for her.
Coffee, My Secret Admirer
He had been wanting to try out the coffee shop on west and third for a while now, and he finally had the chance. He never thought he’d be caught up in a romance when a beautiful girl hopped over the counter and took his order, nor did he think they’d turn into not-so-secret admirers of one another.
Scale of Mental Stability
When a string of murders pick off where a long-arrested serial killer left off, the FBI’s first stop is the children of the cursed family. The problem? The only person who hates the man more than the son they arrested, is the daughter who’s out for blood.
My Hermes (Sending Me Letters From Above)
A coincidental meeting years ago leaves Spencer enthralled by a voice heard in the most unfortunate of circumstances. Y/n couldn't forget the man who gave her the best gift of all, the phone call of a lifetime.

Last Man Standing
No matter what it takes, even as bodies fall all around him and blood paints the streets, he will come home to you.
Just Like The Movies
It was a rare sight even before what will henceforth be known only as 'the incident' for Aarons smile to stretch so wide his eyes crinkled in a boyish manner that everyone believed was lost to time. It must have been a miracle.
The Egg Crusher
Serial killers in their own backyard had a tendency to start fires within the team that burn hotter than usual; one targeting pregnant women was practically begging them to shut him down. Aaron had begged her to take off work and finally start maternity leave. The worst part was she listened; the constant messages to his work email that set of ‘nesting’ alarms in his head had him convinced she had dived head first into it. Then he gets one signed off with the hidden moniker used when one of them gets themselves in trouble.

Where You Go (I Wanna Go With You)
Derek always believed the job came first; complete the mission however he needed to for the case to close and the rest was simply collateral damage. Even now, when all is said and done, he couldn't say when his priorities shifted.
Where You Go (I Go)
Derek knew what it meant to be a great soldier. He knew how to follow all the rules and take initiative when appropriate; he’d learned these things as a means of survival. Even if the country he serves has dwindled down to one person, he knows to do everything in his power to get to her till his dying breath. (a part two)
Domesticated
The people at work tried to be more encouraging than envious when her boyfriend insists on driving her to and from work some random Tuesday. The imposing figure the man struck was intimidating, yet they all called him her ‘doberman puppy’.

These Trembling Hands
He thought it might be over; similar fates have happened to men far more successful than he. A mission gone wrong and they're sent to recovery, a mandates psych eval that already is stamped 'denied' to send him into retirement. He never thought he'd last this long in the first place, and if the pretty psychiatrist was his parting present he'd be a fool to look the gifted horse in the eye.

Something Lost, Something Gained
It was a gilded reassignment that brought the new liaison to the team; she was, perhaps, the only agent who loathed the idea of being tacked on to the BAU's list of revolving-door members. The Cyber Response Unit had been home ever since the academy, but a single misstep had started the spiral towards madness, better known as the Behavioral Analysis Unit. Hopefully there would be someone on the team that wouldn't inherently know every little secret which had been carefully tucked away.

I'm not sure if you've already said this but I'm asking anyway. Since you're the local Flashfam expert and also a PJO lover (you have no idea how happy I am that we like the same things), what godly parents would the Flashfam have? Like, all of the fam. Counting characters like Linda and Iris
And it'd also be cool if you assigned a cabin for the Titans and/or the Young Justice too-
I mean it has to be Hermes. It literally has to be Hermes for the speedsters. Like, maybe we throw in a Roman twist and say Mercury every once in a while, but that's just gotta be the answer.
Jay literally wears Hermes' helmet. Max named himself after Mercury. Barry wears Hermes' winged shoes and has wings on his head. Same with Wally. Jay is also literally given Hermes'/Mercury's powers on Earth-2.
And it makes sense, it really does. God of travellers? Check. The winged aesthetic? Check. God of messengers? Check! God of tricksters, liars and thieves? Look, the speedsters are all of the above just in a VERY chaotic good way. They don't rob people but also when Wally found out that the museum had the bones of a fallen soldier from another country without said countries permission or consent? HE STOLE THEM BACK. Bart has absolutely no qualms taking things, Max has been a thief in the past, Jay and Barry work by pirate rules aka 'if I defeat you, I get your stuff', ect. They don't do armed robbery and they don't like stealing from random citizens, but bad guys are free game.
Iris I have to go on the nose and say Iris because Iris is the goddess of messengers and rainbows, and Iris is literally a reporter? So her whole thing is spreading information? While looking stunning.
Linda is an Athena kid 125%. Linda writes books, she was a kickass investigative reporter, she went to med school, she knows more about speedster biology and how it works than literally anyone else in her home dimension, she regularly fights aliens with no powers and just whatever weapons she finds laying around. Linda is intelligent, she's cunning and witty and she will cut a bitch.
Joan is a Hestia kid. Just... family, love, warmth. Need I say more?
As for the Titans... well, Donna is already taken care of. Garth... is technically also taken care of I think?? Atlanteans exist in Greek mythology so Garth is just the same I think. Roy... fuck it, Ares. I said what I said come at me bro. For Dick I would want to go with a minor god or goddess, I like the idea of him being a child of Psyche (Goddess of the human soul) because he is very human and he understands people on a level that might be considered supernatural. Lilith would be the oracle. Karen would be a child of Hephaestus and Mal would 100% just be a guy who can see through the mist and has a shield.
Gar is the last son of Pan because that's cool AF. Raven would be the daughter of Tartarus I think. Vic would be a son of Apollo. I know it's really easy to go for Hephaestus for Vic but honestly, the key part of Vic's story to me isn't that he's a cyborg, it's that he's human. He's a survivor, who, against all odds, received bat shit crazy medical treatment from his father and survived a fatal accident. I like the idea that Apollo saw a guy doing crazy stuff to advance medical science and was like 'Hey there 😉😉😉😉'. Also pre accident Vic was a football player which has a lot to do with aim, so idk, I just like it. Starfire would be a demigod child of the sun deity on her home planet.
For Young Justice, Cassie and Bart are already covered. Kon would be a legacy of Nemesis (Lex) and a legacy of a deity from Krypton. Cissie would be a daughter of Ares and a legacy of Apollo. Greta would be a child of Morpheus. Tim would be the son of Lachesis. Slobo is Slobo. Anita.... Tbh I want to say she's a legacy of Aphrodite? Love is a huge part of her backstory and I dislike giving the non powered characters godly parentage that explains away their abilities. They worked hard for those skills!

My Thoughts On the Vengence Saga 🔱🩸
HOLY SHIT ODYSSEUS MY GOD, BRO DID NOT HOLD BACK. The saga started with I'm not sorry for loving and it was sad on Calpyso's part (WANGUI COOKED SHE ABSOLUTELY COOKED) but I'm really glad Jorge didn't have Odysseus accept her "apology" because what she did even though she tries to justify it, it was 100% wrong AND THEN HERMES SHOWED UP AND WE GET REFERENCES TO THE TROY SAGA, OCEAN SAGA AND CIRCE SAGA. AND I LOVE THE "IF YOU DANCE WITH FATE THEN I KNOW YOU'LL ENHANCE YOUR STATE" LINE. I LOVE HOW MANY THINGS GET PERSONIFIED IN JORGE'S MUSIC LIKE PRIDE AND DANGER FEEL AS IF THEY'VE ACTUALLY COME TO LIFE. ALSO, THE FACT THAT JORGE'S SISTER VOICES THE PRINCESS WINION IS SO FUNNY TO ME, LIKE WE HAVE THE WHOLE FAMILY NOW. BUT DANGEROUS IS A BANGER LIKE I KNEW IT WOULD, ALL HERMES SONGS MAKE ME WANT TO DANCE. THE WINDBAG MAKES A SECOND APPEARANCE SO WE ALREADY KNOW THAT IS GONNA HAVE SOME SIGNIFICANCE. ALSO, ODYSSEUS IS GONNA USE RUTHLESSNESS FOR SURE. I ALSO LIKE THE "DON'T THANK ME FRIEND, I'M NOT THE ONE WHO FOUGHT FOR YOU" and Odysseus is like who then?? I was kinda hoping that Athena would show back up and it would be this whole big moment but she didn't :( RIP. Charybdis is REALLY COOL it was different from what I expected and I'm pretty sure it's Jorge's only entirely solo song In the show which is really cool. I also LOVE that right before Odysseus explains he doesn't have to fight Charybidis we get an electric guitar rift to show that he's using his intelligence. AT THE END HE SEES ITHACA AND HE'S ALMOST HOME AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND THE MUSIC IS SO SOFT COMPARED TO EARLIER IN THE SONG. But... POSEIDON SHOWS UP. IM ANNOYED FROM A SHOW PERSPECTIVE BECAUSE JUST LET THE POOR MAN GET HOME BUT STEVEN IS ALSO SO TALENTED. HE WENT BEAST MODE FOR GET IN THE WATER. I like how intentional Poseidon's threat of "I'll take your son and gouge his eyes" to give an eye-for-an-eye deal to harm Telemachus as Odysseus did to Polyphemus. I also love Odysseus really does use all his tricks because he tries to show Poseidon to forgive and almost "Greet the world with open arms" but when Poseidon ignores him, he goes F* it. Then Poseidon uses his final boss move "OCEAN SHATTER" and Odysseus gets weighed down in the water by everyone who has died because of him in someway. But what I find heartbreaking is instead of singing their own motifs or "final thoughts" they all sing Waiting and his name until something clicks in his mind. ODYSSEUS GRABS THE WIND BAG AND OPENS IT WITH GLOWING RED EYES DESPITE KNOWING THAT IT WILL BLOCK HIS ONLY WAY HOME. HE USES IT AS A JETPACK AND STRIKES POSEIDON WITH HIS BOSS MOVE "600 HUNDRED MAN STRIKE" JORGE DID SUCH A GOOD VOCALLY TO SHOW HOW ANGRY AND SURE OF HIMSELF ODYSSEUS IS. ALSO WHEN HE'S ATTACKING IT SOUNDS LIKE LEGENDARY AND I THINK IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE HE'S CLOSE TO HOME SO HE'S MORE SIMILAR TO HIS SON. ALSO, THE VOICES OF THE CREW IN THE BACKGROUND IS JUST AHHHH. ALSO, I LOVE THAT WE CAN HEAR THE WND BAG MUSIC AND THE STORM MUSIC AS THE BATTLE IS GOING ON. Then Poseidon proceeds to taunt Odysseus by the fact he released the storm because now Poseidon can kill him and there's no way for him to get home. ODYSSEUS GOES APESHIT, or rather VERY CALM. We hear the danger motif as Odysseus walks toward Poseidon and Posiedon says "You can't kill me" and Odysseus says "Exactly" HE PICKS UP POSEDON'S TRIDENT AND STABS HIM OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER TO THE POINT WHERE POSEIDON IS BEGGING HIM TO STOP. but Odysseus has a Ruthlessness is mercy mentality and doesn't stop even as Poseidon, god of the seas, is calling him a MONSTER. AND THE CRAZIEST PART IS Poseidon relents the storm and asks "How will you sleep night?" and Odysseus goes "Next to my wife" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LIKE LINE IS SO ACTUALLY INSANE LIKE THIS SAGA WAS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER AND ODYSSEUS HAS TRULY STOPPED CARING ALSO, EVERYONE'S VOCALS WERE OFF THE CHARTS AND IM GOING TO BE OBSESSING ABOUT THIS FOR THE COMING WEEKS. As usual, thank you to the entire Epic Crew and everyone behind the scenes for making these sagas, they are awesome.

Hi! I saw that people are sending in their batfam pjo headcanons and wanted to put in my two cents:
I think Jason should be a son of Nemesis. Nemesis is the goddess of implacable justice, the avenger of crime and punisher of hubris, which I think fits very well into the whole Red Hood thing. I like it better for him than Ares, and it fits into the whole missing mother storyline.
I hc Tim as the son of Athena (smart kid that loves to put together clues and make tactical plans) and Dick as the son of Hermes (I think he fits the god of gymnasiums, athletes, and diplomacy really well). I think Bruce and Barbara should be clear-sighted humans (or maybe legacies, children/grandchildren of demigods?) because it's funnier that way.
And I have no idea about Steph or Cass. Ithought about Thanatos for Cass, or maybe making them Roman demigods? I'd be interested in what you think.
Nemesis Jason is probably my top choice right now ! (apollo i also think would be good - ironic and also funny lol)
Dick i think I'm pretty set on being a Hermes kid, and Tim I'm thinking Athena/Aphrodite! (or a mortal to add into insecurities during when he first became robin- because he's not as powerful as demigods dick and jason- im not 100% sure) Bruce and Babs are probably gonna be clearsighted mortals, with maybe Babs having a connection to apollo somehow? (i just really want to play into the Oracle name in greek mythology lol)
For Cass, I'm thinking either nemesis or hades (or nemesis with hades legacy) i think both could mix with her characterization so well and add so much to it. Steph I'm still completely unsure on lol. i might look into some of the roman pantheon though!

Summary: "I … I don't get what I’m meant to do. I just throw my food into the fire and … talk?" James, a son of Hermes asked -- Percy could recognise those blue eyes and elfish facial features anywhere. Percy grinned, "Yeah, that's pretty much it." James hesitated before looking down at his feet, "But … Hermes has a lot of children more powerful and more popular than me. What would I even ask him for? It's not like he cares." Maybe it was because Percy was reminded of that promise he wrangled from the gods at age sixteen, but one moment he was looking at the younger camper, and the next he was throwing some of his food into the fire and asking Poseidon for some Disneyland tickets very, very loudly. But even though he wasn't quite sure how it happened, the small, shocked laugh that James let out made it worth it. Or Percy sees that some of the newer campers don't feel 100% comfortable with requesting stuff from their godly parents, so he decides to rectify that the only way he knows how -- dramatically.

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics
My take on who star wars characters godly parents would be!
Tumblr media
Luke and Leia are both kids of Aphrodite.
For Luke, I feel like he would have powerful charm speak and much like Leia, be the strongest person in combat in a room despite being underestimated by everyone based on appearance. I also love the idea of the twins having everyone fall in love with them all the time (I think they would make a bit out of it). Some casual Din/Luke is also in this aesthetic (more on Din later).
Tumblr media
Leia aesthetic for being a daughter of Aphrodite.
I think that Leia would have been claimed sooner than Luke was (coming to camp when she was younger) and thus she knows how to control her charm speak more than Luke does. She would also be more of a realist with love as she has had her fair share of insincere suitors.
Leia would also be the best shooter at camp half blood. Some Leia/Han is also in this aesthetic!
Tumblr media
Han would be the son of Hermes.
He is always traveling, good at thievery/cunning actions, and is a good navigator. I think that he would be sent on his first quest with Luke and Leia (before Luke is claimed) and would be micro managing their travels.
He constantly tries to beat Leia at shooting but they both know that he isn't as good as she is (Leia/Han is also incorporated in this aesthetic).
Tumblr media
Din would be the son of Hephaestus.
This one took me a while but honestly it fits.
I think that beyond the armor (which he would 100% wear at camp half blood), he is also super efficient at doing repairs (but not as much as his fellow Hephaestus kid Peli), and uses fire. He would have gone on a lot of quests and is experienced in it (his bounty hunting).
I also just love the idea of a Hephaestus and Aphrodite kid being togethers (thus Din/Luke is in this aesthetic too).
Tumblr media
Finally, Lando.
He would be a son of Dionysus. He has the right vibes:
Strong, fun, goes with the flow, and a bit sneaky. He would totally be an enjoyer of good theater and wine.
I like to think that he and Han have been camp besties for a while. He definitely would be the type of person to go on one quest (which was the most important one) and just have so much credit from then on thus making him the person everyone wants on a quest.
Anyways, thank you for coming to my ted talk, please lmk what you think or any characters I should do!

My friends and I have been theorizing which avengers would be the children of which gods, this is what we have:
Tony Stark - Athena
Captain America - Zeus
Natasha Romanoff - Athena
Clint Barton - Apollo
Bruce Banner - Athena
Ant Man - Hermes
Scarlet Witch - Hecate
Falcon - Either a wind based god or Zeus
Winter Soldier - Ares
And I think Spider-Man is a son of Athena but Ioni thinks he’s a son of Apollo
anyway, let me know if I’m tight or if you have any more theories or answers on the matter
Raein, cabin 20 🔮
Spider man is def an adopted of Ariadne but a child of Athena.. Wolverine sounds like a kid of Mr D and Deadpool is 100% a kid of Ares. Thanos is either a kid of Zeus or Kronos. Or even Hermes considering how his kids have been turning out in the most recent century - 🖤🥀Lark from Cabin 13🥀🖤

so its been 4 years since i posted the first chapter of my very first fic (The Request Revolution) on ao3. thank you so so so much to everyone who's read it or commented on it or gave it kudos <3333 i love you all !!!!!

"I … I don't get what I’m meant to do. I just throw my food into the fire and ... talk?" James, a son of Hermes asked -- Percy could recognise those blue eyes and elfish facial features anywhere.
Percy grinned, "Yeah, that's pretty much it."
James hesitated before looking down at his feet, "But ... Hermes has a lot of children more powerful and more popular than me. What would I even ask him for? It's not like he cares."
Maybe it was because Percy was reminded of that promise he wrangled from the gods at age sixteen, but one moment he was looking at the younger camper, and the next he was throwing some of his food into the fire and asking Poseidon for some Disneyland tickets very, very loudly.
But even though he wasn't quite sure how it happened, the small, shocked laugh that James let out made it worth it.
Or
Percy sees that some of the newer campers don't feel 100% comfortable with requesting stuff from their godly parents, so he decides to rectify that the only way he knows how -- dramatically.

what demigods from each cabin would get along together you think? Like I headcanon that the Hephaestus and Hecate kids get along because they’re always thinking up new things like be it spells or machinery. But I wanna hear your take on compatibility between godly parents? 😀
-Casimir 🔮Cabin 20🔮 Son of Hecate
oh i LOVE the idea of Hecate and Hephaestus kids getting up to mischief. I've thought about this a bit so I'll go through the ones I have strong dynamic ideas off the top of my head, sticking mostly to CHB's main 20 cabins and then a couple of bonuses. Also some bonus "who hates each other." (Under cut for length)
Ever since TLO the Apollo and Ares cabins have had an alliance. Mostly built out of the Ares kids feeling really guilty about arriving late to war and nearly all the Apollo kids dying in the Battle of Manhattan, wondering if there would have been fewer casualties between both cabins if they had gotten over their stubborn pride faster like the Apollo kids had. Ares kids kind of guard the Apollo kids and tolerate them more than other cabins, and the Apollo kids are considered off-limits for bullying.
Hephaestus, Ares, and Aphrodite kids have a very bizarre dynamic, besides the whole canonical love triangle curse nonsense they have going on. They tend to be drawn to each other one way or another. Very common to see them together. The question is just are they besties or are they trying to kill each other.
Big 3 kids either have immense solidarity or totally loathe each other and there's no in-between. Sometimes it's both.
Demeter and Hades kids have a very tenuous alliance. They're a little scared of each other. They would fight to the death over who gets to adopt a Persephone kid as a sibling though.
Besides Hades, Demeter kids either get along great or horribly with Big 3 kids. Again, no in-between, or sometimes both.
Zeus kids and Athena kids tend to get along like a house on fire. Insert School of Athens fresco here. They are Thinking Thoughts and will have the most passionate debates about the wildest topics you have ever heard.
Cabins 5 and 6 have a very strong ongoing rivalry. If it's a friendly rivalry or true rivalry shifts depending on counselors. They LOOOOVE competing with each other though, and have some amount of unwavering respect for each other as the war cabins. Post-TLO the Nike cabin starts getting in on that dynamic too and Cabins 5 and 6 are very excited for some new challenges.
Tyche and Nemesis cabins tend to be buddies
Apollo, Athena, Dionysus, and Iris cabins love being artsy together. 100% lead a lot of the art activities at camp.
Similarly, Athena, Apollo, Hephaestus, Hermes, and Hecate cabins love being nerdy together.
Chthonic solidarity! Hermes, Hades, Hypnos, Hecate, etc. Usually the other chthonic cabins are the only ones brave enough to poke fun at the Hades kids.
Mad scientist gang Athena, Hephaestus, Hecate. Sometimes the Apollo kids join in to help give them ideas and enable them.
Athena, Hecate, Apollo, and Hades meanwhile are Mad Scientist: Biology Edition™. They're dissecting weird stuff and will figure out how to make Frankenstein's monster.
Also, Athena, Apollo, Hebe - medical cabins gang. Vision/eye health, general health, and general health + youthfulness.
Demeter and Dionysus gardening buddies!!!!!! Sometimes they let the Apollo and Iris kids hang out too. Zeus and Poseidon kids are a strong "maybe."
Apollo and Hebe cabins get along super well, also with Zeus cabin. They're totally vibing being all youthful and beautiful together. Sometimes Aphrodite cabin also join them. Pretty cabins gangs.
Apollo, Iris, and Zeus cabins (and Hera cabin if there are actually any kids there for that. hi Jason) - sky deities buddies!
Dionysus cabin has a bizarre comradery with the Hades cabin nobody can figure out but everyone is mildly afraid of (it's Zagreus stuff).
Iris and Hermes kids get along super well. Iris cabin also probably loves hanging out with the Aphrodite and Apollo kids. They're talking about art and color theory.
Bonuses: Philotes + Aphrodite + Erotes kids obviously all get along fantastically. Psyche kids and Aphrodite kids either get along well or clash horribly.
Hebe and Ganymede kids are shaking hands. Cupbearer parents (who are also both youthful and pretty).
Iris and Arke kids are very one-in-the-same except the Arke kids all have So Many Problems. Iris kids tend to be "excuse me they asked for no pickles" on the Arke kids' behalf often.
Thetis kids and Arke kids have beef and it's kind of funny (cause Thetis got Arke's wings as a wedding gift after they were stolen from Arke as punishment for siding with the Titans).
Enyo/Bellona and Ares/Mars kids LOOOOVE each other. Immediate best friends. Same hat, spiderman pointing meme, etc etc. Absolutely built for each other. They just click. And also tend to enable each other a little bit. Do not let the Nike kids around both of them at the same time because they will all begin to enable each other in a feedback loop and get up to mayhem.

Do you think you can elaborate on your HCs about Dionysus being Zeus’ heir? How do they and the other Olympians feel about it? When would the transition of power happen?
hulloooo!!!!!!!!!!! yes i can! i have a lot of things to say, so i am dividing the hc's into sections so that it is easy to read. i also have added colour to some names-- it doesn't mean anything, i just thought it would be easier to read!
👑 BASIS IN LORE FOR DIONYSUS BEING HEIR
so Lore doesn't actually say that Dionysus was Zeus' heir, just that Zeus brought him into the world to bring laughter and joy and whatever.
HOWEVER. you may be familiar with a little guy known as Zagreus! Zagreus is considered to be the son of Zeus and Persephone (ew! this is 100% Zeus at his absolute lowest btw) and Zagreus was often conflated with Dionysus. Orphic mysteries say that Zagreus was the first incarnation of Dionysus-- Dionysus was Zagreus reincarnated because Zagreus was killed by the Titans.
now. according to Wikipedia (bad source, i know, but i couldn't find much more on where this statement came from), Zagreus was meant to be Zeus' heir.
in Nonnus' Dionysiaca, 6, 168:
"By this marriage with [Zeus,] Persephone... bore Zagreus the horned baby, who by himself climbed upon the heavenly throne of Zeus and brandished lightning in his little hand, and newly born, lifted and carried the thunderbolts in his tender fingers."
from memory, i don't think any other god actually sits on Zeus' own throne OR wields lightning, so i take this to mean that Zagreus was meant to be Zeus' heir, and by the connection between Zagreus and Dionysus, I am hc-ing Dionysus to be Zeus' heir.
now. even if this isn't true by Lore, i think Dionysus is the only suitable option for the throne.
🍇 WHY DIONYSUS IS THE MOST SUITABLE
from the elder Olympians: Hades and Poseidon are already kings of their own domain so i don't think they'd reach out to get Heaven as well. Hestia has too much of a passive role in myth to be a ruler. Demeter has never been shown to care much for the affairs of Olympus. Hera COULD be, but i cannot see her rallying the support of everyone given her history of vindictiveness. and that's the older generation completely ruled out.
from the younger Olympians: Ares, like his mother, would be unable to garner support from everyone and is also too brash. Artemis does not care enough for the affairs of Olympus to rule-- she is quite cold and has been demonstrated in Lore to prefer the wilderness and her own group of girls to the rest of the Olympians. Apollo is said to remain unwed because he could not choose a wife from amongst the Muses; this demonstrates indecisiveness to me which is not a useful trait for a king. furthermore, Apollo often laments his decisions/mistakes which shows weakness, which is also not a useful trait for a king. thirdly, i simply do not see Apollo as having enough ambition for the position-- he would lose his freedom. Hephaestus is too busy with his craft to rule. Hermes is too mischievous and going from Messenger to King doesn't really make sense logically. Aphrodite, too chaotic and has never demonstrated potential to rule.
that leaves Athena. i think she COULD BE. but i think she is quite arrogant and unwilling to compromise which would make her a very difficult queen. i think she would make enemies quite easily. also, i hc her to have no desire to rule-- i think she would like the independence to pursue her own whims, and being Queen would take this freedom from her.
Dionysus, on the other hand, has a distinct advantage to me-- he began life as a man. i know he had divine blood, but his MOTHER was mortal... Dionysus is the ONLY god who is required to undergo "trials" to prove his divinity.
everyone else is divine by birth, but Dionysus must EARN his place in Olympus by living amongst men first.. and it's CHALLENGING. he is undermined by mere mortals on countless occasions.
now. i do not actually like Dionysus as he is presented in Lore... but evidently, Zeus thought him worthy after all his years on earth and granted him the golden tickets to Olympus, so i think that counts for something.
in my personal hc's for Dionysus, i think he is very similar to Zeus. the most from all Zeus' kids.
Dionysus and Zeus are both very cheerful and jovial. they laugh a lot. they're fun. they're smart. BUT. they can also have a terrible, vicious anger. they command others. they can lead armies. they know when to insist on their way and when to compromise in a way that does not make them seem weak.
i think Dionysus is immature in his youth, like Zeus. but in adulthood, he becomes compassionate and wise, strong and gentle, commanding and forceful. these are the words i would describe my own version of Zeus with as well, and the traits i would expect from a king.
in light of all these hc's, i do not think Dionysus faces much opposition-- his siblings LIKE him and i think that by the time Dionysus becomes King, he is quite mature, and people are quite happy to accept him. What about Hera? the short answer: she's dead. the long answer? check the next section on how the transition happens.
📖 HOW DIONYSUS BECOMES KING
to explain this, i need to take a side-step and tell you about a story i made-up (or rather, am in the middle of developing in my mind) in which the End of the World takes place.
you've heard of Ragnarok; well, i think that every pantheon has their own version of Ragnarok. and i think that when Ragnarok comes, it is the end of the world for EVERYONE. greeks, egyptians, aztecs, etc. everyone. i hc there to be an uprising of old gods; Chernobog, Loki, Apep, etc. who instigate a war that kills off many familiar faces.
when does this take place? Hesiod, in his Theogony, describes 5 Ages of Man:
Golden Age - made by Kronos. perfect men, practically gods.
Silver Age - made by Zeus. stubborn, foolish men.
Bronze Age - made by Zeus. barbaric, warring men.
Heroic Age - made by Zeus. noble heroes like Heracles. descendants of Deucalion.
Iron Age - made by Zeus. "us", allegedly. mortals today.
i think this end of the world happens at the end of the Heroic Age and the new world that is born after the End becomes our age: an age where the gods have left. i'm rejecting Hesiod's writing and saying that this Iron Age is created by Dionysus & co., not Zeus, when Dio is the new king.
now that we've got a timeline, let's get back to Dionysus' promotion.
Zeus swallowed Metis because he was warned that her son would overthrow him. i have a hc that Metis was pregnant with twins- Athena and a son, whom i have named "Diophontes" (slayer of Zeus). there's some more background to this, but let's just say for now: Diophontes gets trapped in Zeus' skull while Athena emerges, and eons later, at the End of Days, an enemy god releases Diophontes and during the Great War, Diophontes fulfills the prophecy and kills Zeus.
i said before that i think Hera dies. during this Great War, there are other fearsome enemies including Typhon and his mate Echidna, and a host of other evil gods and monsters... i think Hera falls in battle here alongside Zeus.
theoretically, Hera would make a kick-ass queen, but i think it makes far more sense thematically for the New World to be led by a god of the younger generation... there needs to be fresh blood and a clean slate. Dionysus fulfills that requirement.
so i think, after all the fighting settles, Dionysus is chosen from amongst the surviving Olympians to become King of Olympus, and under his guidance, Greek gods abandon the earth and refrain from taking active part in human affairs. no more demigods, no more curses, no more gods in disguise. it is a time for mortals to develop and grow on their own without divine intervention. and thus the 5th age of man is ushered in.
fin.
