In another post I have, I mentioned Billy and Adam having an agreement not to touch certain topics.

What I mean is that both of them have trauma. They recognize bits of themselves in each other, the trauma of growing up too fast and losing your family and being alone. The weight of being the champion of magic weighed heavily on both of them, even if they will both insist it made them better. They are the only two living beings who know the feeling of magic lighting every pore in your body, of the energy of the Rock of Eternity lighting a fire in them, and the bone crushing weight that goes along with it.

They don’t mention each other’s families. They both avoid civilian identities if they can. Billy invites Adam to help him take down human traffickers. Adam doesn’t attack on Billy’s families death date.

They have codes between them, of when things go too far. Black Adam says the word Teth in mid battle and Captain Marvel pulls him away from the battle, being extremely gentle. Captain Marvel says the word Mary in a battle against multiversal monsters and Black Adam directs him towards a group of monsters to destroy with no mercy, before whisking the Captain away.(A few tourists take pictures of Black Adam having ice cream with a child leaning into his side.)

They are enemies. Black Adam and Captain Marvel are still nemeses, and they do fight on the battlefield. But they both realize they are more. They are also Adam and Billy, two souls who understand each other in ways no one else can.

villain au redesigns!!

so far in my efforts to revamp this, they’ve gotten worse! these two need to be separated!

Small but significant character moments that I actually really adore are from both the times we see the boys as tots. There is a reoccurrence that happens in both of them that I find so incredibly interesting.

For the turtle tot short, Splinter leaves the boys with weapons. In the short, Raph is the one who suggests they do “what Lou Jitsu would do” and Leo is the one who takes point when Splinter comes back to reprimand them. Leo, in taking point, is the one to defend them and get Splinter off their tails.

And then, in the flashback regarding the Kuroi Yōroi helmet, Raph is the one who grabs and throws “Skully” as a way to replace their missing ball which breaks it into pieces, but Leo is the one who speaks for the group and rushes into action to fix the teapot.

I love this for multiple reasons, but the biggest are how it shows that Raph has always been inclined toward the bold and fun and making the plans to include his brothers in what he loves and believes they’d love, whereas Leo has always been inclined to be the “Face” of the group and shoulder the attention even if it’s potentially negative all while coming up with on the spot attempts to fix the situation.

Zuko and Azula in "The Beach"

Lately I think a lot about "The Beach" episode [x], especially about this small detail of great teamwork Zuko and Azula have during the game.

Zuko is looking ahead, directly facing their rivals (who had the control of the ball at this moment) but his body is clearly lowered to the ground, left hand most likely touching the ground, legs bent and widely spaced - a clear contrast to Mai standing near and how he stood before on two separate occasions

which is why I think Zuko willingly create an opportunity for Azula, so she could jump higher - something she definitely used to their team’s advantage. If Azula simply jumped on her brother’s back when he wasn’t expecting it or wasn’t ready, he would probably just fall face down from the impact but as the scene shows, he had no such problem nor was angry about it in the following scenes.

During the game sequences there was no dialogue shown between our protagonists, so it is hard to determine if Azula in advance called Zuko to give her a “lift” or Zuko offered on his own, or did they were that much in sync they just acted without thinking. Regardless I like this few seconds long interaction, because for me it implies how they trusted each other despite all the rivalry and bitterness from previous episodes. Like Zuko trusted Azula won’t use that moment to hurt/humiliate him by overuse of force, the same as Azula trusted in Zuko’s strength and that he won’t mess up by losing his balance. It is a small thing but no less sweet to see them working well together when fighting for the same goal - what reminds me a bit their teamwork from the previous season finale.

Interestingly, it was also the second time Zuko assisted Azula in scoring against their rivals while not scoring himself any point on screen. The first time happened almost right at the beggining of the game (second from total five sequences)

while each girl have the solo sequence of winning a point:

later Ty Lee landing on the net

and Mai kicking the ball (and presumably scoring)

while Zuko’s two actions are shared only with his younger sister while there is no sense of competition between the siblings, something contrasting a lot with some previous and later episodes.

Azula is bossy and competitive through most of the episode and her brother lets her be that without a complaint. Azula and Zuko get along pretty well and A) do not argue (with the exception of the campfire scene and then they argue not even for the whole scene itself) and B) don't get on each nerves the way they do in the palace, with Ozai's presence looming in the back of their mind. I absolutely adore this episode, as it humanizes all our Fire Nation characters by showing them as teenagers outside the war zone but also giving us a bit of insight into what Azula and Zuko could be if Ozai didn't pit them against each other. And they could be a great team!

no but what if there was a rosquez soulmate au where you feel each others pain and have each others scars etc? first of all vale wouldn't be able to deny his connection to marc anymore because he would have big ass scars all over his arms! would have to think about marc every time he's wearing short sleeves or is shirtless! and secondly vale would constantly be in just as much pain as marc is! his arm over the years, maybe the deal with the diplopia, maybe the emotional pain caused by the divorce and the whole aftermath as well?? i would looove watching him suffer knowing that he's either part of the reason for the pain or knowing that he's done nothing to try to alleviate the pain by maybe just being there for marc..

i DOOOO think if vale was in any way beholden to the risks marc takes and the pain he is in literally daily he would just hate him. it would not even be sexy hate it would be resentment 9000, so im gonna put the kibosh on the pain SHARING... but THAT being said, the visuals of them having matching scars is so fucking sexy to me so we can go with THAT...

like. everyone can see!!! everyone knows!!!! because its written across their fucking SKIN and precisely no one will acknowledge it. academy boys presscorp rosquez THEMSELVES... also vale is someone who has comparatively smaller scars, so its gonna be mostly scars accumulated by MARC. explicit ownership in a way that is not necessarily reciprocal and is EXCRUCIATINGLY PUBLIC. marc literally writing on his skin. unbearable. and maybe vale starts to figure it out when marc's hand injury happens in 2015 during summer break and hes doing shit like showing vale his scar and wellllll... WELL... we all know how that ends BUT. only vale knows it lmao. marc oblivious and heartbroken and he doesnt even KNOW...

and then theres marc's shoulder surgeries. and his stupid pizza burn during lockdown (where theyre locked on a video game oriented zoom call ignoring each other as best they can and vale is sweating BULLETS trying not to let his wrist show up on camera)

and then jerez 2020. and suddenly vale is walking around with his arm looking fucked uppp. and vale been ignoring all of it for YEARSSSS but the scars keep piling up!!! and marc isnt here hes in recovery/arm rehab and the paddock feels WEIRD and EMPTY and DIFFERENT and he doesnt know what to do with all of it... he has to start wearing a lot of long sleeved hoodies... watching new jagged lines appear on his arm.... until its 2022 and hes out of motogp and a lil out to sea (still thinking about him car racing less not to hang out with his young family but to hang out with PECCO next season. like what the HELL.) and marc is posting pics at the mayo clinic and the BIG scar appears on their skin and suddenly he cant really ignore any of it... thumbing over the ridge of it and feeling a bunch of contradictory emotions... and then MARC only finds out when someone paps a photo of vale in short sleeves with the edge of his shirt riding up a lil and his fucking stomach drops OUTTTTT because he would know the exact contours of those scars anywhere. and then being his regular direct ass self and showing up at vale's doorr the next time hes in the paddock like. HOWWWW long have you known.

Got a Breakdown centric/kobd fanfic idea and wanted to write down the summary for later use

After the first acounter with Silas Breakdown actually gets to bond with Bulkhead for a moment and Bulkhead seeing his old partner is still there decides to try rekindle their bond offering sparing sesions for starters. Breakdown obliviously refuses (he's no traitor) but getting back on Nemesis he starts to question himself. He already is a nuisence to the decepticons, he has nothing to offer other than his strength and project Breakdown showed he's not even good at that. Getting to train more wouldn't be that bad.. after all decepticons never give him any classified informations for autobots to steal and if he was killed it wouldn't be a big lose. Breakdown starts meeting up with Bulkhead and their old friendship starts to blossom once again. He's not doing anything wrong, he's just sparing. It's not like any of his superiors care about what he does, now that he lose to a human.

Accept there IS one bot that cares and he is not pleased.

Basically Breakdown getting friends and Knockout losing his shit.

Man, I know I’m not the first to say so, but between the way that Davrin says so little that’s concrete about his backstory, the way it is suspiciously devoid of detail while also being pointedly Just Plausible Enough that no one can question it without looking like a nosy asshole, and the way he popped right to “The Thrill of the Chase” with the little Romantic Interest symbol because Elías chose ONE flirt option, ONCE, and the flirt option in question was just telling Davrin “I think it’s neat how passionate you are about hunting monsters,” not like anything deep or super emotionally resonant?

but hey, it’s sonic related and it is Friday, so why not

For context they are these things called Marble Critters I made a long while back, basically just pokemon but instead of pokeballs you use magical marbles, totally not an outcome after little me made too many fakemon and came up with the idea to make them their own thing

Sonic is a bunkgehog, which are supposed to be skinny and practically rabid, but made an exception for Sonic since I had no other hedgehog marble critters, so no need to worry about cannibalistic tendencies, yet

meanwhile Tails is a Kitdrop, which are supposed to have three tails, so technically in this au the twin tails are a downgrade, at least the little dude can still fly, so he has that going for him

I’m still developing this AU and honestly planning to have it be somewhat of a crossover instead of a roleswap like I usually do, to include regular marble critters and other characters from the original thing

I’ll probably post more about this some other time when I have more drawings to show, until then, have a great weekend

Jaden and Yuya are now my favorite dynamic of all time, and now that I’m being shown the similarities I’m wondering if it’s really just a coincidence GX and Arc-V are my absolute favorites out of all the Yugioh series this is insane 👀

(Uh. This got long so it's going beneath the cut for the sake of people's dashboards)

Well, first off, there's just a lot of similarities between Zarc (the original Zarc, before he split into the Yu-bois) and Jaden. Both can talk to duel spirits, both start out chipper and are driven to the edge by grief, both split into various personas/people (Jaden with himself and the supreme king, Zarc obviously into the Yu-bois), both fuse with their ace monster(s), and both carry the title of "Supreme King". Most interesting, to me at least, is how both shape a lot of their identities around what they think people want from them.

Zarc was content to be an amazing duelist, but felt pressured to put on a good show, to be more brutal. Jaden, more subtly, constructs most of his personality off being easygoing, chill, and carefree, because he internalized that his emotions are dangerous, and people would rather deal with happy Jaden than the emotional disregulation mess that he actually is.

And both of them, when they get overwhelmed, adopt a mentality of "Well, the world might as well burn with me."

Jaden, rather than feel his grief, locks off his own trauma behind a brick wall and goes on smiling. Yuya, rather than deal with his dads disappearance, does the same.

I'd also like it noted that supreme king Jaden and supreme king Yuya have yellow eyes.

And some teal/orange eye asymmetry

Honestly, even dragon form Yuya and the Supreme Kings armor have similar silhouettes.

Mostly its in the spikes on the shoulders and elbows, and the fact that Zarc Yuya forms a weird chestplate (and that this is the same art team and visual style)

Another thing I get hung up on is that both Jaden and Yuri have super poly. In GX, Jaden had to go through an entire arc of misery to get that card, and Yuri just? Has it?

So my little headcanon, is that in the original timeline, before the dimensions were split, Zarc had the spirit of The Supreme King, able to command duel monsters and wield The Gentle Dark. Unfortunately for everyone, he got a teensy bit traumatized before he could enact his destiny of defeating The Light Of Destruction. Using his powers, he fused with his dragons, nearly destroyed the world, etc, etc. When he split, the Supreme King couldn't just split into four the same way the rest of his soul could, and so while the dimensions split, the past was rewritten to attach the power to a different soul, with a different guardian to boot. Similar to how the timeline got all borked to set everything back to a late nineties world of duel monsters.

Which would make Yuya 1/4 of an alternate universe version of Jaden. And I think there's a lot of fun to be had with that idea :)
