My favorite Merthur dynamic, especially in slow-burn fics is, once they’ve had their “oh” moments. Arthur is doing backflips around the fact that he’s in love with a man, let alone his manservant, let alone Merlin. And then there’s Merlin, who takes one look inward and is like “well, this might as well happen,” and then tucks this secret away inside him with the rest of them. Because, well, his life is already Arthur’s, his heart might as well be too.

Meanwhile, Arthur is screaming crying throwing up, and nobody knows why, least of all Merlin, but damn if he’s not going to give figuring it out his best shot. Cue Merlin performing various acts of sorcery on a passed out Arthur to find out why his king can’t get a full sentence out in his presence without getting flustered.

Although Fairies appear humanoid in nature, they actually have a more pure form unseen by the naked eye. This is because Humans lack the ability to perceive anything beyond the fourth dimension. Given enough magic, a Fairy can manifest their true form onto all planes of existence.

This is usually not recommended, as seeing a Fairy's purest form can cause madness. A Fairy should only use their pure form when necessary, such as containing uncontrollable wishes, or high quantities of magic. Especially since there's heavy drawbacks and sacrifices to manifesting one's pure form.

Do people see my vision of a Witch Hat Atelier Gravity Falls AU a Gravity Atelier AU if you will

To reiterate my previous post:

A Witch Hat Atelier AU where Mabel and Dipper are witch’s who become Stan’s apprentice. Due to Dippers curiosity and desire for knowledge and Mabel’s love for witch’s cause them to turn their parents into stone. Unknowingly to them their grunkle is a witch and takes them in. Rules be damned. the brimed hat is Bill Cipher. They all have a design element to their hats that relates to a yellow triangle with 1 eye.

Mabel and Dipper are Stan’s only apprentices. his Atelier used to be Fords and goes along the same line of argument, ford disappears, Stan fakes his death and takes on Fords identity learning about magic to get him back that leads him to be an ok Witch by modern day. The last time Stan saw ford he had a brimmed hat. At the time he didn’t understand the meaning behind it but now he’s concerned the shit Ford got into.

Stan isn’t really a rule follower and lets the kids decorate their hats as apprentices so Mabel sewed a shooting star to hers and a pine tree to Dippers

okay i get it “merlin is magic incarnate, it doesn’t make sense for him to not be able to perform healing spells” i get it! completely agree! HOWEVER let me offer this counterpoint:

the bit of healing magic emrys was supposed to embody was given to arthur instead. thats what kept him alive from magical threats for years before merlin got to camelot. he uses it unconsciously and thinks his expeditions/quests are just super lucky bc if his knights get injured it’s always something minor (because arthur’s healing magic seeps out into his men as well and keeps them from death). if someone were to get dangerously hurt, they tend to heal a lot quicker when arthur tends to their wounds. its so subtle that no one jumps to magic. it also kind of makes them yin and yang as the warrior set to oppose magic holds a morsel within and the embodiment of magic becomes a warrior to protect his king.

reading what happened to season two of 'the real adventures of johnny quest' really is like. the nightmare fucking scenario. you make one season of a show where you try to bring back an old pulp show but turn it into something grounded and cool without the racism or sexism but with real cool science, and then season two they just hand it over to some guys who are like "yeah we're going to bring the racism and sexism back, also real science sucks so everything is magic now"
