Netherlands Dance Theatre in The Hague, 1987. Designed by Rem Koolhaas (OMA, Office of Metropolitan Architecture).
It was one of his first realised projects. By using low cost materials, he was able to realise the Dance Theatre with a tight budget. The Anton Philipszaal was reknowned for its acoustics.
In 2015, it was decided the Theatre had to be demolished to make room for a new monstrosity by Jo Coenen (that everybody dislikes).

Project description:
"The design for the Nederlands Danstheater which has been realized, was preceded by two projects, both for a location in the seaside resort of Scheveningen. In this phase a hall for 800 spectators, as well as studies, offices and artist's quarters were added to the existing circus theatre. The theatre which has been built is on the Spui, an environment which is defined by two office bleeks, a flyover which is to be built over and a 17th century church. In this area, cultural centre functions are to be realized. The dance theatre is joined to a concert hall (architectural firm Van Maurik) and a hotel (architect Carel Weeber) with which it shares an underground car park. A public square forms the fourth component of the location. The flamboyant exterior elements, which dominated the projects in Scheveningen, have been replaced here by formal façades. The theatre hall has 1001 seats. The foyer is in a 7 metres broad space between the concert hall and the dance theatre hall. lt continues under the sloping floor of the latter. In the foyer a half-moon shaped landing and above it an egg-shaped skybar are suspended on cables. Between the hall with the stage and the three story high studies with the offices and dancers' quarters, there are three ballet studies. At right angles to this there is a unit with facilities for the dancers: a sauna, a swimming pool, a massage room and showers. There is a round public restaurant on the square. The outer walls are done in black, grey, white or metallic shades. In the interior, the emphasis is on the use of colour."
