Here’s a personal take!
The Sonic Prime 3D models have the best facial expressions seen from the modern cast. Why? Well, I’ll explain with my 0 experience in 3D animation. I’m only explaining as an observer. Not a professional. Anyways, onto the fun.
Tumblr media
First of all, let’s talk about the current models in the games. The animators became better at animating them in Sonic Frontiers.
Tumblr media
You can tell effort was being put in, but Frontiers still has limits due to the structure of Sonic’s face and eyes. I’ve seen fan animations with this model which animates him wonderfully. But no matter what, he’s still going to have limitations because his hands are too big, eyes are too far apart, mouth looks like it was made to only stay on the side, and more issues. The design frankly looks dead. Even in motion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In all fairness, this character was built for a 2D design due to it being inspired by Mickey Mouse. But Sonic Unleashed (because they used different models like Dream Team) proves this character CAN be expressive in 3D with a good workable model. It’s not the animation that’s the problem in Frontiers. Here are similar expressions from Sonic Prime and Frontiers.
Tumblr media
See how wider the expressions are in Prime? It allows their faces to be more flexible and warped. Prime!Sonic has rounder eyes making his head look easier for his facial structure to have an array of expressions. It’s kind of close to Sonic Dream Team with the minor tweaks of the OG models. Which is why the expressions in that game looked so good. ESPECIALLY when animated.
Tumblr media
It’s even why other designs are able to have great facial expressions. The eyes being close together just works. While the OG looks like he’s pushing expressions that’s near impossible to push. Yes, it’s still expressive, but you can see how limiting it is because the eyes aren’t supporting the face. And his mouth is always stuck to one side.
Onto more compliments to the Sonic Prime models. They emphasize the hight differences too. I personally think Sonic and Shadow look like mixtures between their 06, modern, Boom, and movie designs. They have long quills like 06. Their entire look is inspired by the modern designs. Their eyes are shaped similar to Sonic Boom and they have cool textures like in the movies. Other characters count but it most notably is for the two hedgehogs.
Tumblr media
The hands are smaller like in the movies and Boom. The pupils being bigger gives volume to the faces. I also adore their fur and quill patterns to give the designs flare. Their gloves have little details too. I especially love how they can change the quills for Sonic and Shadow and make them look similar to a 2D style. Usually they’d make the quills smaller in the games to get that 2D look but Prime Shadow and Sonic are able to have long quills while the animators adjust them however and whenever they need to.
Tumblr media
Their mouths are also well animated and smooth when transitioning to different sides of the face. The characters body shapes are also 100% better. While the Game model looks too straight the Prime model has a pear shape torso that are also given to Boom and Movie Sonic respectively. The Prime models look like they were made for action scenes.
Tumblr media
I know some people complain about the eyes not going down, but honestly it’s what makes the expressions weaker when used in 3D. I’m glad they have a balance of it sometimes to allow the expressions to get their points across. I really appreciate the colors on everyone also. They look lovely and bright with help of the lighting.
The few critiques I have are due to multiple watches but they’re not a HUGE deal.
1. I can easily see their necks at points.
2. The mouth animation looks weird when characters makes an O shape and the tongues/teeth are jarring.
3. I wish their hands weren’t so flat and skinny. Other models had their hands shaped like Disney characters, but Prime’s hands can look flat sometimes.
These are just nitpicks though.
Tumblr media
Even compared to the CGI cutscenes while still good I think Prime conveys a subtly previous models didn’t do too often. Of course the CGI looks amazing and it still holds up, but the nuance in Sonic Prime cannot be ignored. Hope my take makes the slightest of sense.
Stay Creative! 💜

Differences between the models from Sonic 2 and the Knuckles Show Masterpost!
I'm sure there are more but these are just what I've noticed so far...
(Also, this is kind of hard for Sonic and Tails because we don't see them much, but I'll do my best)
::Knuckles Show on top Sonic 2 on bottom
Okay, first...
Textures
For the most part, they're less furry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Comparing these you can see that the fur around his muzzle is shorter or at least not as well defined. This is true for the rest of them as well. Everyone looks "smoothed out," especially around the face.
Another example...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see the fur around his ears is actually less fuzzy, and the triangle shape of the inside of his ears is more obvious. (Almost like he got a trim or something haha.) This is true for Sonic as well, especially the ear definition bit. Tails' cheek fluff is also more shapely and long, evoking his game design more. His forehead tufts now face slightly different directions instead of all pointing right.
This goes for Knuckles' chest pattern too...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shape is SO much fuzzier in the movie.
His body fur is also less voluminous in the show (likely the cause of the aforementioned definition.) I think this goes for everyone else too (Except for Tails maybe, I can't really tell since we can't see his body that well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.)
Another one...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They got rid of his nosebridge pattern. The delineation between his muzzle and head color is much clearer. (You can also see the muzzle fur and ear change here.) I'm actually kinda sad about this one :( It was one of my favorite parts of his design. It could be due to the fur shortening and just for the show, but I'm not sure... :/
Exceptions
Tails' tails actually appear to be MORE fluffy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and Sonic's chest fur is WAY fluffier
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I had to guess, I'd say most of these changes were made to cut down on rendering time. Switching out the movie's "denser" textures for these "lighter" ones cuts down on the budget without sacrificing the looks. Very smart, very smart. (Obviously, I don't know for sure that they did this, I'm just guessing based off of the differences.)
Structure Changes
Here are some things I noticed about how the bones of the models have changed (meaning not due to textures) (It's mostly Sonic lol.)
From the images above you can see that Sonic's shoulders are broader and his arms are thicker. His upper chest area is now more prominent, giving him a body shape closer to a "V" than the rounder "0" Sonic from Movie 2. It's really obvious in the second picture.
His quills also don't start on his upper forehead anymore, now beginning further back. His quills also appear to be thinner. They blend in with his fur more than before. (See below.)
He also emotes differently. His face rig must have changed with his model, because when he furrows his brow the way pictured above his face wrinkles like 3x more than before, haha (I hope that doesn't stick around, it's kind of weird to look at lol.) Actually, now that I think about it, it might just look that way because the show's less voluminous fur is not hiding it as much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, that's definitely why haha. You can actually see the indents of the same crease placements in the movie model.
Also, is Tails taller?!?!? He sure looks taller here! But it could be a case of forced perspective since we can't see their whole bodies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Knuckles' eyes are very different. I don't think the other's eyes are different, but we see them for like two seconds from afar so...¯\_(._.)_/¯
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, I might just be imagining this, but it looks like everyone has more "neck" than before. Weird sentence, I know. You can kinda see what I mean here...If this is the case, it was likely done so posing is easier for the animators.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And generally, everyone is at least twice as vibrant, especially Sonic! Just look at the comparisons. My boys are G.L.O.W.I.N.G! Beautiful!
I think that's all I've got. If I can think of any more I'll make a part 2. If you noticed something that I didn't, leave a comment and I'll add it. Or add a reblog of your own if you want^^
(This took way too long (¬_¬"") )

Custom Fur Accessory Tutorial
I have been meaning to put this together for a loooonnnng time, but as there is still a lot of information about the process that is undiscovered, I held off. I didn't have the energy to deep dive and solve those mysteries either, so I just kept delaying and delaying. The circle of procrastination in progress!
It's long overdue though, and even though the mysteries still remain, I am sure there are others eager for even the partial scoop of knowledge I've managed to glean. And also thanks @angelapleasant for helping re-motivate me! I appreciate the patience as I worked through to remember all the steps.
This assumes you already know the main basics of making a mesh and using SimPE, so I won't go over every excruciating detail for this. I personally will be using a cat mesh for this tutorial, but the method is the same for dogs as well (they just have way more meshes/resources).
Tools: SimPE, a mesh editor such as MilkShape, and a photoeditor. I also put together some Custom Pet Genetics Resources, which includes everything pet related I've ever utilized when making pet cc. Everything is separated by cats or dogs, and then sorted even further. For this tutorial, I will be making a cat item, so the resources I'm using will be from there. If you're making an item for dogs, just follow the same steps but using the dog equivalent of each resource instead. I tried to make it organized, but it's probably still messy.
Step 1 - Slaved Vs Recolorable: There are two types of Fur Accessories: slaved and recolorable. I will only go over the process for slaved furcards, but the process for recolorable is pretty much the same except at one part.
• Slaved are my personal favorite fur accessories; they grab their color from that of the pet’s coat color. They don’t require any recolors, just one simple package and they’re all done. The only downside is that they don't have their own textures. Examples of slaved furcards are the furry belly fluff on cats and dogs.
• Recolorable is by far the most tedious of all versions, as it requires an additional recolor of the accessory to be made for every single fur color, and any fur colors that don’t have a recolor made for them will default to white. Do yourself a favor and avoid recolorable accessory furs at all costs. Examples of recolorable furcards are dog beards, dog eyebrows, and poodle fluff.
Step 2 - Make the Mesh: Open MilkShape and import "bodyfurcards.5gd" from the zMeshResources folder.* There's 5 groups, don't delete any, just make your mesh on one of the group layers already available. I, personally, put my meshes on the bodyfurcards7 group.
Tumblr media
After you've made your mesh, map the textures to "fubodyaccflowingfurcardREMAKE.png" in the zMaterialDefinitions folder. This is from my AccFurCardsTextureOct2018.package, which is a default replacement of Maxis' original body furcard texture. It adds a square in the corner (for the dog equivalent, it adds a teeny tiny rectangle near where the eye texture normally is).
Tumblr media
Once you're satisfied with the mapping, then make sure all the comments and joints are correct, and export. As a fair warning, pet weights are super weird, so your mesh might wind up with some strange issues such as morphing or floating.
*There is also a facefurcards version, but my attempts to use that one for custom fur accessories have been unsuccessful. I included it if anyone else wanted to try their hand at it.
Step 3 - Make the Mesh Package: In the zMeshResource folder find the BodyFlowingFurCardsMesh package. Open it in SimPE, Fix Integrity, then Save As under a new name. Then replace the GMDC with your exported Milkshape mesh, and save. Or don't, if you prefer a different way of mesh making. The TRULY important part is the Shape (shpe) file. Click it and make sure it has the correct number of parts in Plugin view. BodyFlowing (Cat) for example has 5 groups, so it should look like this:
Tumblr media
Make sure the new mesh is in your Downloads folder, if you haven't already put it there.
Step 4 - Make An Accessory: Open up Bodyshop and make a brand new accessory. To make it easier on yourself, I would suggest choosing an accessory that has only 1 or 2 ages or genders. One age group if you are making a mesh for only adult cats, two if it will be for cats and kittens, etc. That way you won't need to delete unneeded overlays and other resources from the package.
Other than the number of ages, don't worry about anything else. Immediately import the accessory project into Bodyshop, and then close the program.
Step 5 - Clean Out Unneeded Textures: Inside your SavedSims folder should be the new accessory package you just made. Open it, and delete all the Material Definitions (TXMT) and Texture Images (TXTR). The only exception would be if you're making Recolorable Fur Accessories, then skip this step instead and skip step 6 as well. For the Recolorables' case, here is where you would import your recolor. Remember, each fur coat color will require their own recolors of your mesh, which means you will need to make a new accessory in bodyshop for every single fur color.
Step 6 - Link To Furcard Material Definition: Click on the 3IDR resources and let them load. Pick 3IDR, if it has a Resource Node and a Shape listed in the plugin view, perfect. Find the first available material definition line, and change it to the appropriate File type - SubType/Class ID - Group - Instance and delete any material definition lines underneath it.
0x49596978 - 0x08CCE154 - 0x1C0532FA - 0xFF7FC524
It's the same for both cats and dogs for some reason. I also included the "FUBodyAccFlowingFurcards.5tm.xml" in the MaterialDefinitions folder, if you prefer the package method. Repeat for additional 3IDR that have material definitions, ignore 3IDR that don't.
Step 7 - Link Accessory Package to Mesh: If you already know how to link, feel free to jump ahead. While still on the the 3IDRs, pick one that has a Resource Node and a Shape listed in the plugin view. Memorize the chosen 3IDR's instance. I picked the one with an instance of 0x00000801, which is usually the instance for adult female accessories. Click on Tools>PJSE>Body Mesh Tool>Linking Stage. Then select the mesh you made in step 3. Click on any other resource available, then save.
Step 8 - Edit Overlay XML: Click on the XMOL with the same instance as the 3IDR from step 7. As a reminder, I picked the adult female instance of 0x00000801 for this tutorial. Find the family string value, and copy it with ctrl+c and make sure you put it somewhere you won't lose it.
From there, right-click the XMOL and select "replace", then select the "XMOLReference.xmol.xmol" in the main folder. Paste the family value you copied earlier into the new XMOL, then save.
Click on the XMOL again and change the values of any lines necessary. For the Species line use 8 (cats), 2 (big dogs), 4 (little dogs), or 6 (big & little dogs, AKA puppies). For the Gender line use 3 (unisex). For the Age line use 18 (adults & elders), or 20 (kittens/puppies). The Parts line should be 8 or 2 (use 2 for meshes that need to morph and move with the pet's body/face, like the face fur cards). The Category line should be 7, but if they aren't then fix them. Delete the Outfit and Priority line, if they haven't been already. Override0subset needs to say bodyfurcards.
Step 9 - Choose A SubtypexBin: The most frustrating part about pet cc is that they have big limitations. For example, pets can only wear one "collar", and only a small number of custom fur accessories are allowed to be worn at once. You can have as many fur accessories as you want in the game, but if any two fur accessories share the same subtype and bin combo, then they can’t be used together at the same time. Pets can have a total of 10 fur accessories without conflict, but once you exceed 10 eventually some will have to use the same SubtypeXBin combo and thus be unusable together.
Tumblr media
In the XMOL, change the Subtype line to B, if you're making a Slaved Fur Accessory*. If you're making a Recolorable one instead, use 0 as your subtype. Then change your Bin to either 0, B, C, D, or E. Now save.
Depending on your project, I might even suggest you choose a slot already filled instead of a free slot. For example, if you are making a wing accessory then choose BxC (BxE for dogs), or a head accessory that would look terrible with antenna then choose BxD (BxC for dogs), etc.
*There is a way to trick the game into allowing slaved fur accessories to use the 0 subtype. It involves loading the game with the fur accessory as a normal B subtype first, and then changing the subtype after. The game will then use the "old" version of the accessory, but with the subtype permissions of the "new" version.
Step 10 - Repeat Steps 6-9 For Additional Ages/Species: As it says, if you plan on making versions for kittens/big dogs/little dogs/puppies/etc. Have all of them share the same family, so that way they are all connected and can be passed down to offspring.
At the end, each XMOL should roughly resemble this, but with whatever their appropriate values are:
Tumblr media
Don't forget to make sure the override0resourcekeyidx is correct for whatever line the material definition is in the 3IDR! ("4" means the 5th line, etc. The first line is number "0", so count the lines then minus 1.)
Step 11 - Delete Cache/Thumbnails/Registry: To quote @angelapleasant who worded it perfectly, pet cc is sticky. The game frequently gets stuck on old versions, and has to be forcibly updated. This stickiness is exactly yeah the subtype loophole mentioned earlier exists, but it can be very frustrating when testing new cc. In your game folder delete the Accessory.cache, Group.cache, cigen.package, ContentRegistry, and Thumbnails folder. Make sure AccFurCardsTextureOct2018.package is in your Downloads folder. Then load up the game, and check out your custom fur accessory.
Tumblr media
If it all worked out, congrats! For Dogs if you mapped onto the tiny rectangle, then slaved fur accessory will appear gold with Maxis fur colors but custom colors will work just fine. Recolorable dog accessories on the other hand will require my MaxisAccFurDogFix to work.
I think that's everything, and good luck! Feel free to ask questions or reach out, I'll do my best to help. And if you do wind up making something, please let me know; I love seeing what people create!

𝕭𝖑𝖔𝖔𝖉 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝕷𝖆𝖒𝖇 - 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫- 𝟑.𝟓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍
Prologue Chapter 3
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:19
Tumblr media
White.
The first thing you remember is white.
Then the soft chirping of birds? (At least that's what you think they were called) , the feeling of laying upon something soft…
Slowly, you opened your eyes, almost immediately you nearly closed them as you felt something bright shine into your eyes, causing you to hiss.
‘What was that?’ You thought, as you
rested your eyes. You hesitated before opening them again, there it was again the bright light.
‘Sun’ a little voice in the back of your mind told you.
You squint your eyes, creasing your eyebrows as you glanced up at the bright sphere in the sky…
“Sun..” you repeated, the sound that erupted from your throat surprised you.
‘Voice..’ That little voice repeated once more.
“Voice?..” you said, the words sounding foreign to your throat. It was croaky from lack of use, which made sense this was your first time using it.
Your flexed your fingers, letting out a small gasp as you felt the texture of something soft yet something prickly poke your bare skin.
Grass..
You brushed your fingers across the soft blades, as you felt them tickle your bare skin.
“Grass…”
Tumblr media
You tumbled along the unknown terrain, your legs still slightly wobbly as you walked. You were getting used to your ‘legs’.
You noticed, as you walked, that everything already had some sort of name.
Those small creatures with fluffy tails that live in trees? They were called squirrels. The slimy little creatures you found under a log? They were named slugs.
You chuckled, “slug..” you repeated, what a silly word.
You now began to ponder, what or who gave them these names? It had to be someone…but you hadn't seen a single person around.
Almost as the universe heard your thoughts, you suddenly heard laughter come from your right.
You blinked, perking up at the sound of another person's voice. A wave of excitement crashed over you, as you immediately took off in that direction.
You made your way through bushes, trees and logs only to skid to a spot once you finally found the spot the voices were coming from.
It was a man and a woman, like you, they were both nude. They both had sun-kissed skin and were both pleasing to look at.
You blinked as you hid behind a tree away from their sight. ‘Adam and Lilith’ the voice popped up again.
“Adam and Lilith..” you repeated, though unfortunately you may have said that too loudly as suddenly “Lilith” whipped her head around to look in your direction.
You quickly ducked away from her sight before she could spot you. She seemed to narrow her eyes over at the tree you were hiding behind but with some quick reassurance from Adam she turned around, though something told you she knew you were still there.
You poked your head out once again, should you go over there? Maybe introduce yourself? As you went to take a step forward, something suddenly caught your attention in the corner of your eye.
All you saw was a white fluffy creature trot past you, but you immediately turned all your attention towards it.
Instead of going with your original plan, you decided to follow after the strange creature. As you did, you noticed their was no little voice in the back of your head telling you it's name. You tilted your head, did it not have one?
As you followed the animal it stopped as it made its way to a group of similarly looking animals, you think a group like this was called a flock.
As you quietly made your way over towards the flock, you noticed they didn't seem to mind you. You smiled as you were able to get a better look of them.
They were round and had fluffy fur? The voice in your mind corrected you, by saying it was called wool. Around their whole bodies except their faces and their legs. They also came in different colors, shapes and sizes. You also noticed some of them had horns while some others did not.
You were pulled out of your admiration as you felt something bump your leg, you looked down and found a baby of these unnamed creatures head butting you before letting out a bleat of “baah”.
You crouched down, hesitantly putting your hand out as the little one seemed to allow you to pet it, it even sat on your lap.
As you scratched underneath the creature's chin, you couldn't get it out of your head as to why these animals haven't been named yet. They were strange yet really cute.
“You are…just like me…” you whispered, as the animal only let out a bleat in response.
‘The same’ you said in the back of your head. Well, if no one was going to name these poor animals, you supposed you would.
You stared into the animal’s eyes as you pondered for a name. You hugged the creature close, as you scratched behind its ears. It seemed to enjoy the feeling as it leaned into your hand.
You smiled, you made eye contact with the creature, as you found the perfect name for it. For you. Your body perking up, pronouncing the word warmly, as if you’ve known it all along.
“Lamb”

A COLLECTION OF OVERLY DETAILED HEADCANONS ABOUT CRITTERS AS A SPECIES!
(Ahead is a wall of text! If you're prepared to read a bunch of non canon bullshit I made up to explain things that don't need explained you may proceed. If not, I would avoid clicking keep reading. Because I perhaps went a little overboard.)
General Lore:
Critters are a species of human originally created from U.S government funded human experimentation during WWII. Inspired by the extremes of the animal kingdom, the government hoped to make hyperdurable supersoldiers. Mostly unsuccessful, the main thing that sets critters apart from humans is appearance and wildly unstable genetics.
After years some of the subjects escaped and thanks to their various unusual methods of reproduction their population boomed fast enough that the world could hardly keep up. Generations later and critters are a widely abundant globally. Such abundance has allowed for them to integrate into society. However, not without difficulty. Food shortages in lower income states and social pushback has led many into bad living situations.
Physiology:
High genetic variation leads to a wide variety of critters, each with advantages and, more commonly, disadvantages.
For example; critters with proportionally larger eyes theoretically would have better eyesight. However, problems with eye dilation and distortion of eye shape leads them to more commonly have bad eyesight, or eyesight which easily wanes with age and sun damage. This is compounded with their general vulnerability to injury as they protrude due to their skulls barely keeping up.
Critters are prone to gene mutation. Two critter parents are likely to pass on faulty genes as the genetic makeup of reproductive cells often gets messed up. Upon inception these genes will mutate due to their faulty genetic code, sometimes leading to kids who looks drastically different than either parent. Even if this is not the case the faulty genes still create problems for the reproductive cells of the child as they grow, continuing to be changed and passed on.
Physical:
These mutations also lead to structural deformities. Strange growths and bone shapes aren't uncommon most commonly occurring on the skull, but can manifest as extra/less limbs unusual heights, strange spine deformations, fused/hyperflexible joints and bones presenting as cartilaginous or membranous.
Mutation of innards isn't all too uncommon either; ranging from lifelong organ issues, to benign growths of veins and nerves, to a unhealthy buildup/atrophy of fat and muscle.
Unfortunately all this genetic instability can lead to high rates of cancer, infertility, dementia, and mortality rates in infants
A few mutations are universal to most critters, most common is lack of visible nostrils and ears. Don't let appearances fool you however, they do still have functional noses and ears. Nostrils by default being closed shut by default can be opened and closed with adequate muscle control or significant air pressures. Ears meanwhile covered in a thin sensitive layer of skin allowing them to hear just as well, but with less directionality and mild trouble with environmental and internal pressure changes.
A critters epidermis has a wide variety of textures, colors, and hair lengths. Some of the texture of normal skin, some are velvety, some are fuzzy, some are scaly, some are smooth, some have hardened keratinous patches, and when exposed to cold enough climates for long periods of time, some can even develop a whole body coat of fur.
Phycological:
The high genetic variation also effects the brains of individuals. Critters are more likely to be diagnosed with mental disorders and learning disabilities of all sorts. They also tend to be highly emotional.
Interestingly as they develop their brains tend to latch on to specific emotions making them more likely to perform certain behaviors or feel a specific way. Individuals who ended up latching on to particularly negative emotions can lead rough lives as they find it difficult to feel any other way without active effort.
Despite this they aren't unable to feel other emotions if something to trigger another emotion occurs. In a sense the emotion they latch onto is more like a default then a solid state of mind.
Reproduction and development:
Critters can be seen with no reproductive organs, no visible reproductive organs, normal humanoid reproductive organs, both sexes of reproductive organs or reproductive organs not commonly found in mammals
Along with normal reproduction critters can reproduce with other means depending on the individual. This includes, but is not limited to: Parthenogenesis, external fertilization, vegetative propagation, budding and fragmentation. They can also have multiple ways to conceave and incubate the offspring. Live offspring, eggs and external fetuses, as seen in fragmentation and vegetative propagation are just some of the more common methods.
Development in critters is also highly varied depending on conception. While some are born through live birth. Some go through larval stages of sorts as they develop, some molt and spin cacoons as caterpillars would, some are closer to amphibians in that they smoothly develop as they grow, and some are raised in an almost plant-like fashion in which the fetus is placed in a sealed environment and fed nutritiants from external sources until they are developed enough to support themselves. On the whole a critter usually fully finishes their development by their early 20s
Many critters can reproduce multiple ways at the same time, leading to extremely high birthrates particularly with individuals who spawn externally. Despite high mortality rates the access to modern medical practices/technologies leads to higher survival rates than normal, offsetting the losses enough to where critters are still in the process of exponentially exploding in population.
SOCIOLOGY:
Critter populations are most dense on the North American continent where in the largest cities they can match human populations 1:1. Outside of North America, critters can also be found in relative abundance in other countries where they are better tolerated.
Due to a large chunk of their population having a rapid reproductive rate, It's speculated they will continue exponentially increasing their population until they will overtake human populations worldwide within a couple of centuries. That is assuming social pushback, laws, or lack of resources won't get involved.
Their sudden boom in population on a societal scale while surprisingly well accepted in their country of origin, worldwide they are less integrated into society and less accepted.
Those on the North American continent, particularly the U.S, are treated as any other person particularly by those in higher density areas who have lived with them longer. Classified as legal citizens they are entitled to the given benefits and privileges this brings. This is not without flaw however. Prejudice still exists, biases and income inequality are sadly common.
Interestingly due to a lack of visible sexual organs on some, it has become socially acceptable for said critters to wear minimal clothes. It is still preferable to wear at least some article of clothing, so most of the time you will see these individuals wearing an accessory or just a shirt/pants

A set based on Cocomama's Wide Fur Coat and some stunning retextures made by BillySIMS139, All About Style (AAS), Arthelope and @esotheria-sims.
The original coat was AF-EF only. I edited the fat morph, added a preg morph and converted it for Maxis-size TF and various other body shapes. All in all, the body shapes covered are:
• Maxis-size TF, AF-EF • Lifa's trans TM, AM-EM • Melodie9 fat TF, AF, EF • AF-EF Momma Lisa • AM-EM Trans Momma Lisa
All have fat morphs, teens and adults also have preg morphs. Polycount: 2,318. Categorized as outerwear. Previews and details under the cut.

Non-AF recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AF. Esotheria's AF recolors are not included, get them from their original post. I did include all of the other AF recolors however, edited so they now have legible file names, are compressorized, tooltipped and categorized as outerwear only.
Non-Maxis body shapes are BSOK'd.

I bulked up the fat morph so it would be more in line with the standard Maxis fat morph and added the preg morph. AF & EF are on the same files because their shapes weren't different enough under such thick fabric to justify two different meshes.

Werewolves designs and other shit
Got bored- Remembered I have free choice to make posts on anything I want... So here I am with opinions no one asked for. As the title suggests, it's about werewolves. Starting off, I don't believe I need to explain what a werewolf is. However, I'll put it out there that in most descriptions and depictions it's meant to be a humanoid wolf. I say this because you'll find that in some movies or books it's just a person turning into a giant wolf with no human features or movement such as standing on two legs. (Or like a minotaur situation where the body is a human, but the head is a wolf.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here I've collected just human references and anatomy- This is so I can make comparisons and such. Humans vary heavily in the way that we look, due to things such as lifestyle and genetics. At base level, of course we're HUMAN. However, things like our body types, hair texture, eye colour or shape and yada yada all can change the way we look and create differences between us and somebody else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the same for wolves, though maybe not as noticeable compared to humans? Mostly things like their size, coat colour or thickness and etc is what separates them from one another. Looking at their head shapes also can show what species they may be. Generally, they're a pretty lean animal seeing as wolves are known for their running endurance to hunt prey. Being too big would slow them down... I mention this because some depictions of werewolves people make them too muscular in my opinion? It's like they're hairy body builders. Speaking of werewolves- Let me try draw this post back to where I started it! First I wanna look at almost shifted werewolves, so not fully transformed.
Tumblr media
(Also I will be using depictions and characters which aren't labelled necessarily as a ''werewolf'' but share many features or similarities. For example, Bigby from The Wolf Among Us.) The common things we usually see is an increase in hairiness, canine growth and eyes becoming highlighted- Usually yellow, though sometimes the werewolf maintains their natural eye colour. We also have ears becoming pointed and the area around the eyebrows and forehead starting to protrude more. All of these things when done right I enjoy in a werewolf design! Though, it's a given that some do it better than others... One of my favourite werewolf designs and transformations has to go to the movie An American Werewolf In London.
Tumblr media
This to me is one of the PEAKS of werewolves in media. I could probably make a full post on just this movie... It's one of the most iconic designs and for good reason. Not to mention, I love practical effects, especially in horror. One of my dreams is to make a movie with them. Enough gushing though. What do I like? Well, it's grotesque nature really. A transformation shouldn't just be BAM you're a ball of fur in my eyes. The amount of change is crazy and so glossed over.
Tumblr media
The transformation literally has bones extending along with all the muscles and tissues alongside. Don't even get me started on what the organs may have to be doing? A human heart could not support a werewolf body, it just wouldn't be big enough... That muscle would literally have to increase in size to be able to deal with the power behind the body of a wolf. Yes, I'm aware they're supernatural and I shouldn't try heavily to apply science to them... However, I don't care? A TRANSFORMATION WOULD BE HORRFIC AND PAINFUL, SO IT SHOULD BE SHOWN AS SUCH! It's also why I headcanon that turned werewolves have the chance of just dying straight up with their first transformation, compared to ones just born as a werewolf because of how extreme the change is. Anyway! Some more designs.
Tumblr media
I think what some suffer from, is leaning either too close to a human and or leaning too close to a wolf? They can't find a balance and at times it's like a worse rendition of the Cats movie.
Tumblr media
Like here, the werewolves from The Quarry almost lean into some classic vampire depictions. The teeth I like! But the lack of hair and flatter snout just means it's not really screaming WEREWOLF at me.. More so a general mutant. (QUICK ADD! A flatter snout doesn't always break a design. It's just when other features such as hair are also lacking that it starts becoming less wolf in nature to me.) We've also got a more recent werewolf to look at... Which is Enid from the Wednesday show. Because fucking hell, that was a disappointment? She ended up looking like a mix between the Ice Age baby and Diego the saber tooth tiger.
Tumblr media
They did her so fucking dirty... And it would actually be very simple to fix! This could be salvaged- It just wasn't. Somebody saw that design and green lit it and whoever you are, why? I think I'll end this here now because I've reached the image limit... If anyone has any questions about certain things I've mentioned, feel free. I also want to state that this is pure opinion and by no means supposed to spread hate towards anything? It's your world, if you wanna draw your werewolves like the Sims 4, who am I to stop you? THIS IS MAL OUT! AND IF YOU'VE READ ALL OF THIS YOU'RE SOMEHOW MORE UNHINGED THAN I AM CURRENTLY. (I MAY MAKE A PT 2 AS I DO HAVE MORE THOUGHTS AND MENTIONS TO MAKE.)

Could you review the Eyrie? They're one of my favorite Neopets.
(Note: I don't have any Pokemon review requests right now, so I'm doing one extra Neopet review to backlog through those a bit.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I always thought Eyries were really nice-looking pets. They're basically griffins, but with these really distinct owl-like feathery "ears" on their head that have edge markings dividing the front from the side. It gives them a really nice head shape when combined with the beak, and the overall anatomy is surprisingly realistic (wings are a bit off technically speaking, but that's okay). Like out of all the Neopets, Eyrie are one of a few that you could picture IRL without many changes.
In addition to the head markings, they also sport several lighter areas on their wings and tail, along with a thick fluffy mane that's usually darker but not always (even the base colors don't have this consistent). These break up the body in classic Neopets style and make it easy to read. Their beaks are traditionally orange, which is accented by their eyes so the color is carried through.
Tumblr media
Eyries are one of a few species that benefited from customization. Their old art wasn't bad, but the wings were all wrong (they were going backwards against the body lengthwise for some reason, and were halfway down the torso instead of coming out of the mane) and elements like the mane shape and tail position look a lot better. Otherwise, the changes were minimal.
Favorite Colours:
Tumblr media
Chocolate: The chocolate Eyrie does everything you want it to do. Whipped cream for the areas with long fur, wafer wings, chocolate swirl ears, white chocolate accents, and some fancy decorative filigree markings. It is completely over-the-top and looks delicious. My only nitpick is that the waver texture is flat, when it should go back in space at an angle and have more of a bend to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Darigan: The Darigan Eyrie honestly doesn't event look that different than the regular Eyrie, but it does emphasize how well griffons work as vaguely demonic high-fantasy creatures. While subtle, changes include a different beak shape, more fur, extra-thick wings, a fluffier mane that goes behind the head, and giant claws.
Both the converted and UC/styled versions are fine, though they have their pros and cons. The converted version looks a bit too much like a normal Eyrie due to the change in pose, and the lose of the spearhead tail-tip and subtle feather wing textures is criminal. However, it is much better shaded than the UC version, and it fixes some of the janky anatomy like the weird fold in the wings and the screwed up haunch and foreleg.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maraquan: A lot of Maraquan pets nowadays tend to be based off of specific aquatic animals, and while that's fine, I really like it when they just take the base Neopet and adapt it to living underwater in a more abstract way. Such is the case of the Maraquan Eyrie, which has pretty fin-like wings, fins on the head instead of feathers, a swisy, extra furry tail, and a beautiful orange and blue color scheme. Little details, like the speckles and the lighter orange on the underbelly and paws, dd a lot to the design, and the whole thing flows beautifully.
It has a UC/styled version, though the differences are fairly negligible. The UC version has a slightly better pose, high-contrast thick and thin lineart, a wavier mane, and a better head shape. However, the converted version is still pretty spot-on, and it fixes the wing anatomy by putting them on the shoulders where they belong (Neopets artists learn to draw wings challenge) (impossible). In other words, both are great.

ref for the operator! been working on this foreveeerrrrrrrr there are between 92 and 94 hands in this image (depending if you count "half of two fingers visible")
Tumblr media
[ID: a digital reference sheet of a strange anthropomorphic character called "The Operator." there are sixteen fullbody drawings of them in different forms, and one headshot in profile, that matches the design of the main fullbody in the upper left, which is larger and annotated. they are bipedal, with plantigrade legs and a fairly humanoid body (flat-chested with a rectangular body type), a tapered tail, four extra hands floating around them, and a round head with tufts of cheek fur on either side and a rotary phone dial for a face. they also have a spiral phone cord on the back of their head and upper back, and a coin slot on the left of their chest. in their standard form they are red, and wear a blue neckerchief around their neck. the annotations say, "four floating hands," "coin slot," "thick forearms," "legs like flares," "feet like high heels," and, "tapered tail," "functioning dial," "centre hole stylized as moving like a pupil," and "crest like an archangel pigeon." more text at the top of the ref reads, "the retrostatic's sweetheart," "they / them - telephone," and "shape-shifts by dialing up personas." the other forms are: 1. beige with a red neckerchief, 2. red with a blue neckerchief, cap, short-sleeved jacket with a low-cut neckline, and darker red pants, all with gold detailing, 3. hot pink with dark pink gradients on the limbs, fluffy hair on the head, long eyelashes, a thicker, fluffy tail, a curvier body, and wearing pink fur scarf and holding a cigarette holder, 4. dull red with a fatter body with defined bust, wearing a strapless black bodysuit, thigh-high boots, a red devil horn headband, and a heart shape on the end of their tail, 5. hot pink with zebra stripes on their thighs and tail, purple and teal floating hands, a teal leopard print scarf, straight cut bangs, and short pigtails, 6. brown with a broad chest and hair on their chest and arms, 7. beige with their floating hands behind them forming a silhouette of wings, and a halo of light behind their head, 8. black with a leather bondage harness and handcuffs, 9. a dull cofurrylor, wearing a black baseball helmet, a black and white striped baseball uniform, and holding a bat, 10. pale yellow with a green wave-patterned bikini, 11. teal with wavy hair on one side of the face, wearing a flapper dress, a gold cloth belt and headband, and holding a feather fan, 12. golden brown with brown spots on one side of their face and their tail, with a smaller tail and cartoonish dog ears on top of their head, and wearing a red studded collar, 13. dark green with a fatter body and a tentacle for a tail, as well as two more tentacles coming over their shoulders from behind them, 14. gray with a fatter body, wearing a black suit and tie, 15. red-orange with wavy bangs, wearing a yellow, red, and green arrow collar shirt and deeper red-orange pants. the background is red-pink with a velvet texture. /end ID]

people have problem with the light fury's' design, i have problems with the nightlights’
They have these awkwards, uncomfortable gradients where there should be patterns, something which both parents have, even if Toothless eventually grew out of his.
Where they do have patterns -both Ruffrunder and Pouncer having some barely visible tiger stripes like their mother, they are applied oddly onto their models on their legs, heads and tails in a way that only serves to make them look as if they have wrinkles like an old human man.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And their eyes are both so oddly saturated and dull they feel more like objects than actual eyeballs, a world of difference from the eyes we see set in the faces of their parents ever.
Tumblr media
They also have so much empty space on their body as a resulting lack of texture, something we don’t see on any of the other baby dragons or their parents- it makes them feel visibly less detailed than everyone else, which contrasts poorly with the lack of detail in their eyes.
On top of that, they have quite a few features that seem to come out of nowhere- neither the light fury nor toothless have these awkwardly placed paw pads and this weird pink mammal snout, and while we do see pink on both the Light fury’s snout and along some of her patterns, it’s clear it’s more of a scale discoloration/iridescence thing than a skin/pad thing, which is ridiculous because even though they’re based on other animals, their hide is physically reptilian, not mammalian. The Nightlights have something else, more vibrant than even flesh.
Tumblr media
Sure, they’re young, but we don’t really see any other dragon age like this- even if I tried to make the excuse that they’re based off cats or other young mammals, the reasons baby animal noses aren’t even so strictly uniform- they fade into the rest of the face. They exist both because a lot of baby furred animals don’t have enough fur to cover their noses and because the red noses that they have are in part a result of flushing. However, as a result of having such a tough, scaly hide, they shouldn’t be able to flush- we don’t see any dragons actually legitimately flushing during the franchise most probably because you can’t see any rushing blood through their hide, which means it is clearly something that was taken into account during production.
Genetics don’t work to add features that don’t exist within either parent. You could try and say they’re mutations, but then how come all three nightlights have them?
Despite carrying the same general shape, they don’t at all feel like the offspring of both Toothless or the Light Fury- both or either. They’re doofy and disjointed when they should be at least somewhat draconian to match every other Dragon in this franchise. Their heads are even more square than Toothless’ and the way their nose bridges connect to their mouths is exceptionally odd, mostly because they are so incredibly smooth where there should be some more edges around the mouth, an issue which again, their father shares- at least in the third movie.
No other dragon is so similar design-wise, having primarily dry-looking leather-and-scale skin which makes the Nightlights stand out, especially since the way they express their own personalities feels more akin to the way people express themselves in contrast to the way we see dragons acting throughout the franchise, even when we see them at their most human points.
Their skin texture also looks a lot like bubblegum in a way we don’t see on any other dragon (most babies included) in the franchise, which makes them feel a lot more like someone’s highschool Intro to Animation class project inserted into the movie than an actual, planned out piece of the HTTYD world.
The dragons in HTTYD are amazing not just because of their abilities, but also because of their beautiful, multicolored nature- they’re fun to look at. Despite their many different colors, the nightlights are not.
One of the first things you learn in any art class, especially one with a heavy emphasis on color, is that when it comes to using saturated colors in a gradient, especially saturated colors on opposite sides of the color wheel, you need a transitional shade in between in order to bring them both together. This is because when you mix saturated colors together, you get a neutral.
Saturation is a synonym for purity in this sense- a completely saturated red is going to be the most red any red can get. Mixing a completely saturated red with a completely saturated purple means that both colors are no longer purely one of the other- the result you’re going to get is a duller magenta. It’s like mixing two negatives- it doesn’t work.
It’s the intense jump from saturated to not saturated to saturated that throws the eye off, simply because the expectation is to watch one saturated color fade into the next. It’s less pleasant when, in between these two colors, the eye is being assaulted by a wave of gray.
If you create a gradient with two saturated colors and you just plain mix them together, you’re going to end up with some murky middle ground colors. What you do in order to combat this is to replace the awkward middleground colors with an equally saturated hue that appears between the two on the color wheel.
This isn’t so relevant when it comes to more neutral tones and gradients because the murky colors made in question are neutral colors and colors like brown and muted tans and beiges are already muddled by nature.
Still, even when it comes to saturated colors fading into more neutral colors, it’s still incredibly important to have a middle ground transitional color, primarily because less saturated purple is completely different from an already neutral tan- though it’s muddled, in order to retain the primarily purple quality, it’s going to end up on the complete opposite site of the color wheel, and so in order to have it fade naturally into the next color, it’s important that there is a color that lands solidly besides the two on the color wheel in between in the gradient.
Especially (primarily) in colder climates, where plants and trees consist mostly of brown and green shades, real life animals are mostly neutral and if not neutral consist of less gradient or have only one saturated tone- an animal that does not follow these rules is an exception to the rule, not the standard.
Also, when there is always a point to having a specific color in a specific area, more often than not it would be more beneficial for a creature to optimize space by having as much of that color in that one area as possible, which makes gradients sort of moot, so this is not typically as much of a observable problem which it comes to most casual, cold-climate animals.
However, the HTTYD dragons aren’t most animals- for most of the dragons, half of every Gronkle or Hotburple in existence excluded, their color palettes have barely anything to do with neutral tones, instead boasting highly saturated, heavily patterned hides. They’re made up of gradients and the franchise works with that.
Tumblr media
Despite the fact that this Deadly Nadder has both purple and sandy shades, It feels natural and doesn’t stand out at all.
Tumblr media
This Nightmare has both red and blue tones and it feels great while also adding a nice pop of color.
Tumblr media
This Nightmare has been featured not only in multiple background scenes but also in Rise of Berk, and in every iteration, with the way it’s able to incorporate all the blues, greens and yellows, it looks quite stunning.
These work both because of their less saturated nature and because in between both the purple-tan and yellow-blue, there are transition shades. In the former, a light blue does a lot to help bring both the purple and tan together while in the middle, a nice medium-saturated peach helps both the equally saturated blue and red come together and in the latter, the green does a very good job of making sure both the blue and yellow mesh.
When it comes to character design, white is a tricky color, because white will always be the first color to take on the properties of that environment, so in scenes where yellow light is particularly strong, like in the final flight scene of the third movie, the color that people see is not plain white- it’s a light yellow.
While there are problems with why decisions were made when it comes to the Light Fury, the Lighty Fury is phenomenal in that even though she is a plain white dragon, which would be cool, her designers did the work to play with light. She is an exploration of transitional shades, both reflecting the light and ambiance of the scenes around her yet also with her iridescence and her temperamental patterns, she is able to make any color that is projected onto her her own.
In terms of art, the reason it is recommended not to always shade with gray because gray is a very unsaturated color and in many cases, depending on the lighting, shadows cast can appear colored  as a result of reflecting light.
Black is the ultimate neutral in that it is made by mixing all colors together, so to have gray as a transitional color on characters that are primarily white and black in a franchise where it is so commonplace to see such artfully utilized color pallets where lighting has such a large effect on the way the character design is taken as a whole, means the Nightlight feel out of place and they stand out in a way that is intensely unflattering, highlighting all of the flaws in their father’s design while taking none of the good things from their mothers.’
The Nightlights don’t do anything interesting with light with either their darker or lighter colors  in a world where the emphasis is so strongly on color- they fail intrinsically as a mix between two great things -as a representation of the unification of two members of  the series’ most essential dragon type- which stand out, yes, partly because they’re no so wildly colorful but also tend to have their own unique, color-or-pattern involved spins.
Moreso because of the separate saturated pink and in one, light blue, acting in contrast to the mix of grays and blacks, the lack of a proper transition between the colors on the Nightlights feels unnatural.
Even if Toothless’ dark blue was something they only did in the first movie because they couldn’t get a good black, The Light Fury has blue undertones, something which Pouncer clearly inherits- in order to fix the gradients just on their own, they could have.
Adding a neutral medium to light blue between both the white and the black within the Nightlights’ gradients would have done a lot more to smooth over the Nightlights’ design- it would have brought Pouncer together more too, having been the most discordant of all his siblings, having a great deal more blue in his design than anyone else.
The nightlights could have been so easily fixed by adding some black and white patterning, toning down the saturation on their eyes to match their parents, removing the pinks or at least spreading them out more and making the more subtle like their mother and adding blues as as a more transitional between-shade.
They could have made the Nightlights slightly more iridescent, though that wouldn’t have done much to fix the transitional shade issue, even if it did add more colors to their palette- to make the Nightlights also iridescent would make the transitional shades a requirement given how many colors are covered by reflecting light. Adding a blue undertone would be like adding a point from nothing in particular to everything- it’s choosing a jump-off point on the color wheel for everything to work off of.
Looking at their designs, I have to wonder why the Nightlights look so bad, especially in comparison to their mother, who was made very well for the exact same movie.
Compared to the rest of the dragons in the franchise, the Nightlights seem almost messy. It almost feels as if they were purposely done in the worst way possible. I think people give them a lot of leeway because most of them are darkly colored like their father, because of the very centralized, overwhelming hate for the Light Fury and the fact that they aren’t featured as much so it feels like they’re ‘enough’ Night Fury at just a first glance, however, if I am being honest, design-wise I think they might be the worst part of all three movies.

Rabbid biology
[My headcanons for Rabbids' biology. Since this is more of a "scientific" take on them, I'll be using male/female/intersex to refer to biological sex. Slight NSFW warning for the reproduction part]
Part 2 is here
General
Rabbids are sentient odd rabbit-looking mammals. They are not rabbits nor true lagomorphs, but a sister group on their own and share traits of both lagomorphs and rodents. Rabbids are a very diverse group, but their general body shape is that of a bipedal furry creature with long ears.
Rabbids have very unstable genetics. As such they are often used as lab rats and guinea pigs (with or without their consent). Mutation processes can vary from laboratory-made to magic.
Appearence
Rabbid's fur is usually white with it being sparser around the nose, mouth and belly where the pink skin is visible. While white is the most common color, their fur can come in browns, greys, blacks and can have some light patterning as well. Unnatural colors are a result of genetic manipulation or simply dye. Their fur can be straight (common), wavy(uncommon) or rex/curly (rare) and can be divided in these categories based on their lenght:
Tumblr media
Short: the most common one, the fur can be any texture and short, medium-short.
Lionhead: common, the fur can be any texture, it's medium-long only on the head and sometimes ears too while on the rest of the body is short.
Angora: very rare, the fur is straight or wavy and very long, usually hiding the Rabbid's body shape.
Lionhead and Angora Rabbids are able to style their head fur as hair. Dying it it's very common too. Standard fur Rabbids can have some "hair" fur as well, but only as short tufts, for this they are commonly seen wearing wigs. Facial hair can be seen in males and intersex of all fur types (being shorter in Short fur Rabbids) while Lionhead and Angora females can get a beard.
Rabbids come in all shapes and sizes, but they can be classified in these general groups (height measurements counting the ears too):
Tumblr media
Standard: the most common shape. They have a small body relative to their head. This size does not surpass 1.50m of height.
Brute: this group of Rabbids are stocky built, with long arms and very short legs. They are usually very strong and can easily reach and surpass 3m in height. (ex. Rabbid Kong, Sweetlopek, Momma)
Dwarf: the rarest Rabbid shape. They're not very different from standard sized Rabbids, but they are very short, less than 1m in height, and usually they have baby like appearences. (ex. Bwario, Professor Backpack, Dryad)
Mutated: as Rabbids are very common lab rats there are a lot of them that have been genetically manipulated. They can have virtually any shape one can imagine, so in this group fall all the Rabbids that cannot fit in any of the previous. (ex Phantom, Madame Bwahstrella, the Sparks).
Rabbid eyes' natural color is usually blue ranging from deep blue to almost green, mutated ones can have more variations in colors.
Biology
Rabbids are a very social species, they usually search for eachother when alone and form very strong bonds. They are also very adaptable and nowadays colonize multiple planets, everyone with their own cultures.
Rabbids can be biologically male, female or intersex. The three genders are more or less equally distributed. There's very little sexual dimorphism: females and intersex's fur is usually softer. As such, depending on the individual, Rabbids express their gender with behaviours, clothes and accessories.
Tumblr media
Rabbids are natural burrowers, they can dig a hole to fit in in less than ten seconds. To do this they have large palms on their hands and small black semi-retractable claws on each of their fingers (on their feet too). They're usually hidden behind the fur, but they can be easily be seen if the fur is brushed away or they can be made come out by pressing the Rabbid's fingertip, much like a cat's. These claws are also used for defense and while they're not so sharp, on a very angry Rabbid can cause it's fair share of damage.
Rabbids are very durable creatures. They can endure a lot of physical damage and still be unscatched. To do this they have a very odd skeletal system: some of their bones are able to bend and their skeleton is very flexible like a mouse's. This means a Rabbid can both reduce the damage on the bones and squeeze in very narrow spaces with no repercussions. With such a skeleton, they are also very flexible with even the most bulky ones being able to contort themselves.
Rabbids are omnivorous and will try to eat anything they find appetible even non-food items. For this they have very strong incisors and a remarkable bite force. They have pouches in their cheeks used to store and transport food. These pouches can also be filled with air to appear more threatening when the Rabbid is angry.
Reproduction
Rabbids aren't strictly monogamous, but they prefer sticking to one partner. They don't have mating seasons: females and intersex Rabbids experience heats lasting about a week once or twice at any time of the year and are fertile only in that periods. Intersex Rabbids can both impregnate and get pregnant. All sexes' reproductive organs are hidden inside a slit for protection with only the males' penis coming out for the mating (the testicles are internal).
They build a nest where the pregnant Rabbid will give birth. Both of the parents help with the nesting, with the birthing parent shedding the fur on their belly and the other providing soft building materials.
Tumblr media
Rabbids can have up to six kits. Litters of single kits are less common and are usually seen in individuals on their first pregnancy. With so many kits, Rabbids have six teats in total: two on the chest and four on the belly. They are always hidden under the fur and are only visible on pregnant or nursing Rabbids. Only the two on the chest are considered femminine as they may form small breasts (more commonly seen in females and never in males).
Tumblr media
Rabbid kits are very small in relation to their parents and they're born with very sparse fur and both eyes and ears closed, opening them only a week after birth. They tend to huddle together or on their parents to stay warm, but in litters with fewer or single kits the parents need to constantly keep them safe from the cold. Both parents take care of the kits, often taking turns as they start being active quite quick and wander out of the nest just as their limbs are strong enough. Rabbid kits make very distinct squeaky noises, but they can also scream when startled or agitated. Among all Rabbid cultures the kits' first "bwah" is always celebrated.
Behaviour
Rabbids talk in Rabbidese, an odd language composed of yells, grunts and "bwaah"s. After the events of Kingdom Battle, Beep-0 and Spawny came up with a translator, but it's unknow how it works as Beep-0 regretted creating it so much he deleted it's creation process from his memory. After this creation, Rabbids have shown to be able to pick on accents. They can make various other sounds as well: a content Rabbid can be heard purring, when very happy or playing they can make odd honking sounds and they can make brief hissing sounds when enraged. Rabbids express their emotions through body language too: they flop by throwing themselves on the floor when particularly relaxed and stomp their feet when angry or irritated.
Among Rabbids, clothes are mainly used to express the individual's style and/or gender. Nakedness is not considered obscene as a lot of them are fine walking around with little or no clothes. However, it usually depends on which Rabbid culture we're taking in consideration, as some of them are more prone to wear clothes than others. Also the environment they're in affect them wearing clothes or not as in colder climates all Rabbids will wear them, while in hotter places they may not do so.
Rabbids are known to be very curious and often they put themselves in danger due to their desire to explore. Nowadays they colonize multiple planets, everyone with their own means of transportation to get there. Their adaptableness and resistance allowed them to thrive in almost any enviroment.
Rabbids' intelligence varies a lot. It usually depends on the individual, but in general they don't seem very bright at first glance: they seem to behave in an almost childish way. However, this behaviour is jst a result of their curiousness. In fact they love problem solving, even if they often don't end up with the easiest or most logical solution. They have shown to be very productive building houses, tools, weapons and engaging in arts of every kind.

Ghost Kafka Attacks!
Mainly @sonicasura's idea, but I think maybe we have different philosophies? For one thing, I'm evil...
This got away from me again. Anyway, my thinking goes like this:
I modified certain details from Sonicasura's post. The main concept is the same: at 26 years old, Kafka throws his life away to protect his co-workers. Almost at the end of the day, they had been cleaning up a large plant-type Kaiju, whose pheromones attract a medium-sized insect-type Kaiju looking for food. The way the situation is described in the post makes me think: both of these are in the manga that I've only read bits and pieces of. So if that is the case, this is the same, but if not, I will explain. The invading Kaiju is like a wasp that eats nectar as well as insects and meat, and can fly. It can also spray its victims with sticky silk, like a spitter spider, but unlike a spitter spider, its sight might be much more acute.
The Kaiju is on top of them in no time at all, with the poor Sweepers shouting at one another to get down and hide. High probability of an imminent blood bath! Kafka, opportunistic as ever, covers himself in nectar from the plant Kaiju to turn himself into bait. He sprints out and away as fast as he can through the empty streets, aiming to lead it away from his crew and distract it long enough for the rest of the Monster Sweepers to hide or flee. In this regard, he is successful.
But the attacking Kaiju ensnares him in its silk.
He has plenty of time in that cocoon to contemplate his last moments while under the influence of the Kaiju venom. We can agree on some themes. It might be anger at himself for breaking his promise and getting himself killed, hoping everyone else got away in the end, fighting to go on or at least praying to be remembered, and desperately desperately begging Mina to forgive him for his failure. What frustrates me is I want something more. Something evil. But y'know, Kafka's flavor of wrath wouldn't be triggered in this situation for Reasons. Without having read the full manga, I guess I'm going with the so-simple-it's-stupid option: fight or flight. And I changed the mechanism for Kafka becoming the type of ghost he is, sorta. Anyway,
Kafka, having been killed through suffocation within a maddeningly painful venomous silk cocoon, is in a high state of stress that does not immediately abate, even after he killed his killer and sucked up its soul.
I don't know how he does that yet, so I'll skip it.
As he has no immediate purpose and has not yet regained the ability of abstract thought or other forms of higher thinking, Kafka wanders around, confused and in emotional pain, hugging himself. His previous agony was so intense, that I'm not sure what's going on in his mind in the immediate aftermath. Does he even know he's dead? On some level he likely does, but perhaps he is also having a temporary lapse in sanity, or suffering from delirium. In any case, he is instinctually looking for help of some kind, but doesn't know how to get it.
I like to think that once his spirit had emerged from the still-closed cocoon, he mostly resembled himself, right down to the white Monster Sweeper uniform on his apparition. Only also with piercing green irises, a dark aura over his form, and an odd, often fleeting, sickly sweet scent. There's a certain pained expression he made that seemed off-putting, but I can't describe it. Still dunno how he ate that thing.
But after consuming the Kaiju soul, his form became like a shadow puppet, still human in shape but the details are harder to make out. Now his eyes and mouth are a starkly-glowing green. His teeth are still currently flat, except occasionally fangy when he's really pissed off and about to eat someone. He transforms further the more kaiju he consumes, so he'll eventually get a full set of permanent sharpness, among other changes, such as: the shape of his body becoming serpentine except for his arms and face; his hair becoming more like fur in texture and running all down his spine so that the end of his tail blends fluff with smoke; the rest of his body developing hair that's very fine, dense and no more than one or two millimeters long, something like an agreeable velvet or one of my favorite sweaters; clawed fingers like talons, although I'd prefer his hands retain a more human shape, but human fingernails are quite fragile. But that's all later. For now, he looks like a human shadow.
The lingering sun, as it descends to dusk, has him feeling some kind of way when he's caught in its light. It doesn't hurt per se, but it's overwhelming for an already-overwhelmed man, and highlights the sensation of feeling physically insubstantial. Lower levels of ambient light help him feel a little more real. So he sticks to darker areas like alleys.
The Defense Force arrived at some point, only to find the wasp Kaiju already dealt with, and a cocoon that was the perfect size to house a human victim. Though, as is the case in the original post, they couldn't breach the cocoon's walls. And it, as well as the body inside, remained fresh even months later. I should explain that the freshness is a common idea in the stories I've read about Onryō, and not necessarily something the wasp Kaiju did.
At some point he has wandered across districts, slowly calming down. The occasional screams of other spirits who flee from him or turn away tend to startle him again. His reactions slowly change from wild fright in his delirium that has him running and crying from no threat at all, to seeking out a shrieking soul to check if they're alright, to quickly realizing that they want nothing to do with him but he's not really sure why.
He's cooled down enough now that he can think a little. When he finally encounters a living person, the notion of his death finally sinks in. It's not so dramatic. He doesn't cry out, though his despair returns a little more. He just asks the stranger, "can you help me?" And while they turn, curious, they don't notice him, and become slightly perturbed when his hand phases through their shoulder. And so after contemplating his hand, Kafka wanders some more, wearing his glowing frown and not sure what to do at this point.
Cliché, I know, that he soon encounters a living shit-stain of a human being in an alley somewhere. Maybe some entitled wad that grins and keeps pressing if a vulnerable woman tries to tell him 'no'. The point is that Kafka would be hard-pressed to not kill and eat this guy. And Kafka is already in a bad mood.
So, you know...
Kafka has the villain wrapped in his silk, which was spewed from his fingers and mouth. The woman is long gone by now, having ran off as soon as the villain was distracted. Kafka is so full of white-hot rage that he slams the man into the wall a few times. And when he yells at him nothing legible comes out, only a roar of garbled language that cracks the concrete and has the bastard's ears bleed.
On some level Kafka knows something isn't right, and that he's doing something wrong. But at the forefront of his mind is wrath, retribution in favor of the woman this man harassed. Kafka gets ready to suck out this man's soul so that no one, alive or dead, has to suffer him again.
But Kafka is kicked in the head from the side and stumbles, dropping the sack. As an angry spirit, his inner chaos flares and he is like an animal, mostly in the way that humans are animals. He gets bigger in his posture, ready for a fight, and as a ghost, he gets some inches taller with this motion also.
Hikari Shinomiya has her hands on her hips and a bright face. "Hey there! You still in there, buddy?"
Kafka is confused by the juxtaposition of the surprise kick and the woman's friendly tone, and he backs away to look at her, lowering his hands. He unconsciously drips evil silk from his fingers, but it tapers off as he assesses the situation - even as impaired as he is. The nice woman in front of him must also be a spirit: her aura is of light. She doesn't seem to harbor any ill will toward him. The kick hurt, but also, it didn't? Kafka takes some moments to understand that she is solely addressing him. "Uh...?"
Meanwhile, Hikari carefully approaches him, somewhat like she intends to capture a scared animal. Slow, but poised to act if he makes any sudden moves. "I heard... a newbie was in town... so... Am I not too late?"
At the change of the script, Kafka's rage had dissipated. Essentially, he is still hurt and confused, and Hikari distracted him from his task. He doesn't want to hurt her, but also can't think of a way to disengage from her, and running away also isn't an option because he still wants to kill-a-little-bit this guy, so he freezes.
Hikari is able to take one of his hands in hers, the silk having dissipated. "There. See? Bet you other people were scared or ignored you, huh?" And she winked. "I'm Shinomiya Hikari." Then she blinks, registering something.
Kafka is able to speak again. As Hikari gets into his personal space and reaches for his face to scrutinize him, he leans away, physically and idiomatically shrinking, and says, "H-Hibino Kafka! That's- don't wear it out! There's been a big misunderstanding. I am very sorry!" He scratches his head with a free hand, chuckling nervously, " I just wanted to teach this guy a lesson and, got carried away... I dunno what's going on at all."
Hikari is distracted by whatever she noticed, not responding to his words. "Oh no..." and Kafka sweats. She holds his chin, squishing his cheeks, and wonders aloud, "just who did you eat already?"
Ok so I figured Hikari's been a ghost for a few years, and she knows or has at least heard that if you eat a soul, it can taint you in a way that locks you into a vampire-like existence, requiring you to sate a horror hunger with more souls. Hikari doesn't care about the piece of trash he wrapped up, but it would be best to prevent Kafka from eating him anyway so as to keep everyone safe in the long run and allow Kafka a friendlier coexistence with other spirits. Unbeknownst to her at first, Kafka has eaten a soul already, thus sort of dooming that neighborly relationship. But since it's not a person, it doesn't carry the same moral weight that would erode his sanity if it was.
I imagine that among vengeful ghosts who take up vigilantism and suck up human villains, there's a bit of a he-who-fights-monsters situation and they end up becoming corrupted one by one, devouring each other before being put down somehow. (I would totally watch/read something with that concept. Any recs?)
Also, I added more powers and quirks to Kafka than the original post. I already mentioned a couple of them here already and in Kikoru's Spirit Guy (in part 2, but here is also part 1 for those who want to read it). He has a sweet smell, which can be either pleasant like spring or candy, OR very oppressive, floral, and saccharine. Getting bigger and smaller is a subset of elasticity. Hikari can probably do it too. Kafka can also spray webs: clean ones like Spider-Man or a real spider's structural webs; or sticky ones laced with a psychoactive compound, the concentration of which depends on Kafka's choice and wrath. Unlike the killer cocoon, these sticky webs have a milder physical effect on their victims in the sense that they don't leave any marks. But they can still cause pain and additionally induce paranoia, hallucinations, agitation and/or catatonia. So, that guy he wrapped up is absolutely fucked already.
I have a suspicion that rather than including arson proper in his arsenal, pyrokinesis is more for lighting and putting out candles and lamps to control the light level. Thus to that end, he can also burn out light bulbs with a flash (though might not be able to turn them back on). I don't know when or if he'll use it.
Umm, that's about all I got for this point in the story. I have one more drabble thing.

How to find a clothing style you actually like to wear- A Guide by Me
Step 1: Information gathering
Find out what you want to look like. Ideally, do this over quite a long time - I'm talking a year. Why a year? If you live in a region with seasons you won't want to wear the same clothes in summer as in winter. Regardless of where you live, keeping a list of Stuff You Want that goes longer than a trend cycle will help you determine what pieces you actually want and what is just the fast fashion algorithm talking. When keeping your list, it is important to a) not do the Pinterest thing - instead of saving Fotos of whole outfits, either write down the elements or, if you must do the visual, do a quick notes app sketch, also b) be specific - every item on you list must be described in 3 words or more.
Example:
Tumblr media
Description:
- chunky lace up boots with a big platform
- ripped jeans, light wash
- minimalist comfy sweater no hood
- tiny leather backpack
- oversized thin hoops
- plastic frame angular sunglasses
OR:
Tumblr media
WHY?
This way, you won't focus on getting this exact sweater or pair of sunglasses or whatever, and instead focus on what drew you to the look. I didn't write down that the earrings were silver -> form was more interesting than material. I didn't write down the brand of shoe -> look was more important than name. I mentioned the shape and size of the sunglasses -> exact form interested me. When you look at the list a few months later, you won't fall into the "but EVERYONE has a tiny Chanel right now!!!"-trap, you'll go "tiny leather backpack? What a stupid idea, I need my bag to be able to fit five average cats minimum and leather gives me the ick" and save yourself from throwing a whole bunch of money out of the window.
Step 2: Identifying core style traits
Go through your list and sort all your single pieces into groups by what makes them distinct from other T-shirt/sweaters/pants/jackets/etc. Your goal is to identify significant accumulation in one or more categories. I've found these helpful:
- Material -> are there 20 million wool sweaters/latex skirts/fur coats/linen sundresses on my list?
- Texture -> are most items on my list smooth/knitted/fuzzy/shiny/etc?
- Colour -> are there 1 to max 3 colours that dominate my list?
- Silhouette -> do most of my items create a boxy/curvy/angular etc silhouette?
Once you've done your grouping, you should have a better understanding as to what is important to you Re: the look you're going for. If you don't care about silhouette at all, but all your items are lime green, you will have different priorities going forward than someone who has all colours of the rainbow on their list but every single thing is straight cut to maximize boxiness.
What you can also do at this stage is identify "make or break" pieces. A "make or break" piece is an item of clothing that incorporates your important points so much that it basically doesn't matter what you wear with it, it will always have a very specific vibe. A "make or break" piece will usually be shoes, pants or a jacket, never an accessory (only exception: hats) and only in rare cases a top. An example for an outfit consisting only of "make or break" pieces:
Tumblr media
Every single item, from the hat to the boots, is giving 1920s dig for the tomb of Tutenchamun. You can imagine her wearing a neutral black suit with only the hat, only the shirt, only the pants or only the boots and suddenly your suit is also giving 1920s dig for the tomb of Tutenchamun. Identify 2 or more "make or break" pieces for your winter, spring/fall and summer wardrobe.
Step 3: Know your own body
Why is this important? Because HOW the clothes fit on you is arguably more important than WHAT you are wearing. Especially if you have a different body than most of the people modelling your list items, if you just go out and buy them, you will not get the look that you want. You need to know how to get the look you want with the body you have. (If the one thing all your list items had in common was colour, you can skip this part).
Example:
This is your inspo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is your body
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're not going to get that tomboy androgynous whats-my-gender-wink-wink look. You're going to look like...someone with boobs and tummy wearing a suit that isn't cut for boobs and tummy. So, we identify what we want from the look - a silhouette with big shoulders and no curves - and think about how to achieve that with the body that we have. This may look like making sure to wear a sports bra and pants that sit at the hips instead of at the waist to create more of a straight line in the torso instead of an hourglass figure. Or this may look like wearing the suit with a dress shirt + undershirt from the men's section that's buttoned pretty high up because that gives you the no-boob-illusion. You will probably also have to have the suit altered or buy a slightly different cut because it will hang different on your body. And the same goes in the other direction.
If this is your inspo:
Tumblr media
And this is your body:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The exact same suit will not give you the same look. To get that same look, you will have to look for something with shoulder pads, tailoring at the waist and possibly some structural enhancement at the bottom of the jacket. You'll also want those pants to fit different - tighter at the ankle and looser in the hips - to give you the illusion of the model's curves.
Step 4: The shopping
Now that you know what you want your things to look like and how they should be cut to work on your body, all you have to do is go out and get them. To get the maximum transformation out of minimum new stuff, I would suggest the following prioritization:
Get first: "make or break" piece that goes with the most stuff you already have (usually shoes or pants, in my experience) -> this will help you pull the awkward phase between styles more in the desired direction.
Get next: replacement for what bothers you the most in your current OFTEN WORN OR DAY TO DAY wardrobe (in my experience: usually shirts) -> this will have the biggest notable impact but MAKE SURE YOU ARE REPLACING ITEMS THAT YOU WEAR *REALLY REALLY* OFTEN. Seasonal wardrobe doesn't count!!!
Get last: outerwear/statement pieces (hats, jackets) unless the situation is extremely dire (e.g. you new aesthetic is basically dark academia and all you own are baby pink see through raincoats covered in sanrio characters).
Step 5: The wearing
You know those 'wearing vs styling' videos going around on various social media platforms right now? Yeah, that. Experiment with how you tuck in your shirt. Experiment with what items you combine together. Experiment with accessories. GET SOME accessories if you don't have any. Think about how your vibe changes with little adjustments, and make them deliberately. My genuine advice: stand in front of a mirror, pick one item of clothing (example: knit sweater) and try to wear it in every way possible (normal, backwards, inside out, over the shoulders, around the hips, as a skirt...with nothing underneath, with a collared shirt underneath, with a t shirt underneath, with a tank top underneath, with a different sweater underneath...under a jacket, under a blazer, under a cape, under a different sweater....etc etc etc). Really get creative with it, and watch how it transforms your outfit! Then take that information and use it to make your clothes do what you want them to for your vibe.
What to do it you still feel like shit in your clothes:
- I like the clothes, I just hate my body. Consider: Therapy for body dismorphia, dumping people commenting negatively on your looks, getting rid of all mirrors in your living space that allow you a full-body view (this really does work!), feminist theory, exploring your gender identity.
- Idk I like it but...something is missing. Consider: A hat (this fixes most problems, I find), a watch, an outrageous amount of jewellery, extravagant facial hair, a cane or other mobility aid masquerading as a fashion accessory, diving deeper into a specific alternative fashion subgenre, getting a bag/purse that matches the vibe.
- I really want these clothes to work but I just look wrong in them. Consider: Having them tailored (a lot cheaper than you might think), a HAIRCUT (!!!!), giving yourself time to learn how to move in new (and potentially weirdly constricting or weirdly liberating) clothes, double checking that your shoes, coat and purse/bag if your carry one are giving the exact vibe you want them to give, changing your makeup (or starting or stopping wearing any all together), buying a different size.
Now go forth and develop a personal style that you love, friends!

What does a Blaebeast look like?
Blaebeasts look very stupid and it’s great.
BBs tend to be taller than humans, heavier than humans, and contain more muscle than humans.
Some of this art is old, and I don’t quite draw them like this anymore, so please excuse any discrepancies between styles.
Tumblr media
The Head, Including the Helmet, Horns, Tusks and Ears:
- Blaebeasts have large horn growths over the top of their heads that protect their brains during battle. Besides containing the normal head stuff like the brain and nasal cavity, it is full of good spongey tissue to absorb blows better. Horns come in a big range of sizes, styles, and shapes. Sometimes, if major trauma happens to the head that causes the helmet or horns to break, they can get filled in with a metal alloy, usually a titanium alloy, and then covered with enamel or paint to make the look seamless.
Here are some examples of different horns and faces.
Tumblr media
Some helmets have “beaks” that can be upturned, hook down, be a little long or a little short. This beak is also where their nostrils are.
Most BBs have “tusks” that protrude from their bottom lip, but may also come from their helmet. These are not actual true teeth, yet are still boney protrusions.
BBs have locks of hair that tend to come out in between their ears and eyes, yet may also grow from behind their ears. Hair texture varies quite a bit, ranging from “silky”, “fluffy”, “wavy” and “curly”. Some BBs, most seen in males and didals, that exhibit large amounts of testosterone may grow hair from the back of their head.
Ears come in a wide range of sizes, with all sorts of variations to them. Most ears come out roughly horizontal, but very highly-held ears or very droopy ears do exist also. Sometimes they can be very lobed and shapely. They are usually pretty large to help with heat distribution. Some ears have tufts of fur on the tips. The ears can be rotated and lifted quite a bit to show a good range of emotions, especially since BBs don’t have eyebrows.
The Body:
- Blaebeasts, while usually on the more muscular side, do display a large range of different body types, just like humans.
Some BBs have locks of hair near their wrists and ankles, but hair can also grow on other parts of the body too, such as down the spine, near the hips or neck, or on the back of the leg or arms. In ancient times, wrist hair would be wrapped around the Beast’s weapon so it was harder to knock it out of their hands.
BBs tend to be a little bit more barrel-chested.
BBs have two fingers and a thumb, and that thumb has a much wider range of motion than our thumbs. BBs have exceptionally high grip strength.
BBs have hooves.
Here are some examples of different body types:
