Everyone around them froze, the tension in the room so thick it was nearly suffocating.

Colin gave his brother a hard stare. “Dad wanted me to have the restaurant. Period. I don’t know what else there is to say.”

Colin stood forcefully, knocking the table with his legs. The clattering of the teapot and cups seemed to shake everyone out of their shocked stupor. They looked around, panicked, unsure what to say to placate the brothers. But Colin was done listening.

He stormed out of the room, seething with anger.

He was so outraged he didn't even realize where his steps were taking him, until he looked up and found himself in front of Penelope's flat.

mann this one's difficult to answer, bc a lot of the words i like are really similar in english and i wanted something a little more special... "miel" (honey) and "luna" (moon) sound really nice,,, also putting "-ito" at the end of things to make them small and cute: "cuchara -> cucharita" (spoon, little spoon). "chiquitito" has to be a favourite, it also means really small.

i'd like to speak french bc i studied it in high school but i never learned that much, also swedish bc i wanna live there :))

also asl or the spanish version! it would be so useful if more people knew it and we could speak in silent places and stuff. i taught myself the letters but i think it's very difficult to learn it with no one around to teach you how to do it correctly or to practice with. maybe at some point i'll join an academy or sm.

really stereotypical answer but probably french, it just sounds nice. also there's a language in the canary islands (some islands of Spain) that is made fully out of whistles, to communicate through valleys or cliffs bc they were heard from a long distance away. really cool.

Sunset has passed, Aether's trying to sneak a snack out of some of the recently baked goods made by Sister Temperance. They were just made earlier in the evening, a treat to be enjoyed by the Ghouls, but Aether knew what that meant. It meant he needed to get to the kitchen before any other Ghoul got their hands on those sweet treats. If Aether wasn't the fastest one there, it was sheer doom for the Ghoul. Quintessence didn't matter if you were watching the rest of the Ghouls eat something that could have been yours!

With an anxious flick of his tail as Dewdrop spoke, Aether shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants, quickly turning around to face Dew while also hiding the plate of cookies behind his body. He chuckled, glancing from side to side. "Have what? I don't have anything!"
