“Stay Weird. Stay Different.” - Graham Moore, The Oscars (2015)

This quote is so special to me. I’ve always been an oddball growing up. But I felt consistently like I didn’t belong and that I was less than because I was different.

When the Oscars aired in 2015, I had four people call me, urgently asking me to turn on the tv and watch this speech. Graham Moore had just won for the Imitation Game (so well deserved btw). I was 16. He gave a speech about how when HE was 16, he tried to k*ll himself because he was weird and different.

He then goes on to say “to that GIRL out there who feels like she’s weird or she’s different or that she doesn’t belong - yes you do. You do, I promise you do. Stay weird, stay different and when it’s your turn and you’re up on this stage, pass the message along.”

I remember crying because it just so deeply struck a cord with everything I was going through at the time.

Graham, it’s been 8 years and I’ve found my happy. Thank you for saving my life.

Idk if this meant like board games or video games but I like both!! I love a good board game night with family and friends, but equally so, I can get behind some video games.

oh shit no pressure. Ummm as someone who has little time and doesn’t like raw meat, I’m going to say a crock pot/slow cooker because it does most of the work for me AND I still get healthy and delicious meals.

Happy Birthday! (I'm also a January baby.) So I'll be traveling down to Nashville next week to visit my newborn niece (Who will also a January baby). It's a 8 hour drive so I'm sure my mind will be wandering with daydreams about Pedro boys. So random asks for random thoughts then: 1) Where in the world would you want to be locked down if it was just you and Dieter, and doing what? 2) Dream vacation to with Frankie? 3)Ezra gifts you the gem of your dreams, what does it look like?

I hope you have a safe and uneventful (in the car at least) trip! 8 hours is a long drive, but it's for a good reason, so I'm sure it's well worth it for you! I've never been to Nashville, but it's on my list of places I really want to go (my sister has been a few times and always talks to me about this place called Taco Mamacita's and this drink she had when she was there that she describes as an alcoholic frosty called a Bushwacker? I need one.)

Daydreaming about the Pedro boys is always a good way to pass the time - I too will likely be doing a great deal of that while driving (and flying) next week.

But these are good questions.

1) Where in the world would you want to be locked down if it was just you and Dieter, and doing what?

I would love for it to be somewhere SUPER low key like a cabin somewhere where we wouldn't have to change out of our pajamas for like a week straight. Get the groceries delivered and just spend the entire time enjoying each other's company. I feel like he's good in the Hollywood setting, but he would thrive in a much less structured environment, too. Because I don't buy the whole "he's incapable of caring for himself" idea that so many people seem to latch onto. He's smart, capable and self aware - he just chooses to act like an aloof idiot because then no one expects much from him. Just give him somewhere he can be himself and not worry about putting on an act.

2) Dream vacation to with Frankie?

Would want him to fly us somewhere - I think that Frankie would have a lot of fun in a place where there was a lot to do, but doing these things wasn't difficult. Sightseeing, enjoying new food and drinks, exploring a tiny little town or city ... laid back but sort of educational seems to be his speed. The military history he's got would help to keep the two of you on a schedule, but even if the rest of what you did was less structured, it would be well worth it. I could see him really enjoying the East Coast, specifically Maine, Vermont NH, or maybe the PNW - and ideally, it would be in the fall months for leaf peeping and sightseeing.

3) Ezra gifts you the gem of your dreams, what does it look like?

I am obsessed with moonstone, and have been searching for years for the perfect pendant, so I think it would be a moonstone - or moonstone adjacent (colors, shine etc). I love the irregularly shaped ones, but I'd want it to be polished so that it was shiny and not cloudy, if that makes sense.

I also really like opals, but they're supposed to be bad luck to wear unless you were born in October.

The more I think about the last minutes the more I’m sure Crowley was saying goodbye from the minute Aziraphale told him he’d said yes to Heaven. He doesn’t confess his love like he’s hopeful, he confesses it like a eulogy. He doesn’t kiss him to make a beginning, he kisses him to seal the end. He watches him go like it’s the last time.

Crowley knows Heaven. He knows they’ll want to either make Aziraphale just like them, or destroy him. Either way I think he believes he’s seen his angel for the last time.

Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. Dismissed on a Technicality

Ok so Danny accidentally killed the joker. He was working part time as a taxi driver. Funny thing is that he got hired in the city next to Amity Park. The problem is some moron decided to have him drive aaaalllll the way from Amity to Gotham city. And Danny might have run over the Joker while there.

Look…he didn’t feel like a human. Danny (as someone half dead) can feel souls and he could only barley feel anything from the guy so it just looked like a blob in front of the road. He thought it was an animal or something! Danny was short on time so he was going pretty fast. And drivers Ed was very clear that one is NOT to swerve the car to avoid animals as it causes the car to go into other lanes and can cause a crash, especially in a big city. It’s sad, but it’s true, better to run over the poor animal.

So Danny hit the gas.

Only to be greeted with the face of a clown smashed into his windshield.

Danny stopped the car.

He got out.

Looked around at all the people of the city staring at him (no longer cowering as Joker went on a monologue, holding them at gunpoint while waiting for a bat.)

Danny looks down as the mangled corpse sprawled over the front of his taxi.

And he pulled out his phone and called 911 to report a car crash. In front of everybody.

When Batman arrived, Danny held out his hands and willingly let them be cuffed. Time to be taken to court!

Now one might think Danny would be panicking in this situation. After all, he just killed someone, even if it was on accident. But Danny had a different point of view and made it known in court.

It was a whole thing. Full courthouse, practically the entire city attending or watching on a live news feed. And who did Danny call to defend him as his lawyer?

Himself.

And this begins the most confusing and controversial court in the history of Gotham.

Now, what defines a human? Because according to the law it’s ‘anyone capable of speech or higher reasoning.’ But that cannot be. There are aliens and Atlanteans who fit those categories and they do not classify as human. And what about that demon the Justice League killed last week. The one with 2 snake heads and a hippo body? That thing could talk. What about being a Homo sapien capable of speech? But there is an entire city of talking gorillas. Therefore, the definition of human should be revised.

As for the Joker, he had many differences to the typical human. When he fell into a vat of chemicals it changed his very atomic structure physically and altered his mind mentally. Those gassed with Joker venom can be turned back but Joker’s transformation was permanent. Meaning the change occurred at the level of his very DNA.

Which begs the question. Is the Joker really human? And if not, is what Danny did really murder?

Let it be known that Daniel James Fenton is not trying to get out of his crime.

Despite his appearance, the joker was alive. He was breathing, had a heartbeat, and blood flowed through his veins (despite that blood being green).

So yes…Danny committed a crime. And he confesses in front of the entire court.

He confesses…to animal cruelty.
