If you don't see these characters as gay, then don't. No one is forcing you. You're only acting like you're oppressed about it. Not everyone in the fandom sees these characters as gay so find the people don't and have fun with them there instead of making others miserable.

He's shouting praises as he passes behind you, the twisteds on his tail even if you couldn't tell based on his giant grin.

☁ Razzle is a very "Words of affirmation" kind of toon, because it's something that he can do so everyone knows just how much he worships you! You are his spotlight, his main star. He just wants to treat you as wonderfully as you treat him and his brother. Is that so much to ask?

☁ SPEAKING of his brother, Dazzle. Oh Dazzle.

☁ I think he's just as affectionate as his brother personally! Being connected to someone who's as affectionate as Razzle kind of eases him into the whole thing and by the time you get together, he's well-versed in what kind of affection works for him and how he wishes to show affection.

☁ He's a huge physical touch person, imo, and an acts of service partner! When your in the elevator, it does not matter what Dazzle wants as it's his turn with the legs and he needs to be by you. Not that Dazzle is complaining of course.

☁ He's constantly by your side when he's not off distracting. You do machines together because having more eyes on the look out than not is crucial to him, plus when it's his turn with the brain cell, he's a fast extractor so you don't need to be in the line of fire more often than not.

☁ He has a good eye too, so if there's a valve or jumper cable on the floor like, half way across the map, he probably spotted the smallest bit of it, immediately redirecting himself, his brother and by extension you to go get it. It's immediately handed to you nonetheless, and he won't take no as an answer, literally going out of his way to pick up gumballs to fill up his inventory space, much to Dazzle's chagrin.

☁ But, Dazzle does need a little extra fawning over. He gets insecure in himself really and doubts whatever he thinks you see in him. Between you and his brother though, it never lasts long and he's always smiling your way soon after, trailing after you like a lost puppy.

☁ Both are absolute buffoons in love by the way. They literally trip over each other when seeing you pass by.

☁ The spend hours gushing with each other over a thing you said or did, despite the fact the other was right there.

☁ They don't get jealous either, unless it's from each other. Not in the toxic, weird way either. Like if you press a kiss to Razzle's cheeks because they swooped in and saved you from a twisted, Dazzle is immediately whining softly for one of his own, despite the giggles in the elevator.

☁ If you come up on Dazzle's side to hold his hand while walking to the other machine, Razzle is complaining loudly about the unfairness and is demanding dibs the next floor their distracting on.

☁ But my favorite thing about these two is they canonically don't fight and prefer to hear each other out. So needless to say, communication is huge with these two. They listen and they don't judge.

☁ And as Rodger points out, they have two contrasting opinions. So if you ever find yourself in a tizzy with another toon, these two are easy to talk to and offer several perspectives on the problem while helping you discuss how you yourself is feeling.

☁ One of their favorite things to do is to wrap themselves around your back and have their chins on each of your shoulder. So Dazzle on one side and Razzle on the other, keeping you trapped as they press a flurry of kisses to your cheeks, shoulders, temples, literally anywhere they can reach.

☁ Y'all gonna turn me into an RND simp with this damn, wish that was me.

☁ OH HEY- They are SUCH fun uncles by the way. I feel it in my bones. They don't have a canonical interaction with Toodles, but like, c'mon. They're so good with her, I KNOW it.

☁ Razzle is obviously the fun, exciting Uncle, using Toodles to tease you knowing you could never stay made at them. He'll pick her up and hang her over you so Toodles can toy with your cheeks and hair, pulling her up out of your reach when you try to retaliate.

☁ Dazzle is the calmer, rock of an uncle. The one Toodles goes too when she needs someone to talk to that isn't Rodger, or when the tension of her extended family gets to be too much.

☁ I imagine Dazzle is happiest when he's got you, his brother, and Toodles all nearby.

☁ I'm not saying imagine sitting on the couch, with Dazzle reading a story as Toodles falls asleep in his lap, you on Razzle's side as you play some game like cat's cradle or something, but I'm also not...not saying that.

☁ Seeing their twisted is...an experience for them.

☁ Lol you thought I'd forget about that bad boy? Not a chance.

☁ Every time they hear the rattles of it being awoken, a part of them positively shrivels at the aspect it could've been you caught, only to realize it was Sprout doing it for the Agro-tapes. Sprout's good about making sure everyone nearby knows he's doing it and keeping watch until the Twisted returns to it's slumber, so they know if nothing else, you're safe.

☁ But still, the aspect of you getting caught by it makes them uneasy, especially if they're distracting and can't get to you without risking everyone else.

☁ It's happened once before.

☁ There was a machine in the ring of vines, right near the twisted, and you had assured Brightney you could get it so that way in case Razzle and Dazzle distracted near there, she wouldn't be caught without a way to run out.

☁ That however left you in the line of fire instead, proven when Teagan, having been spotted by a twisted accidentally ran in the part of the circle hidden by a wall, waking up the twisted.

☁ It snapped too quick for you to react, catching your leg and tripping you just on the boundary of their reach.

☁ Even from across the map, Razzle and Dazzle could hear your cry of pain, immediately turning tail from where they were distracting a twisted clone of Poppy. Tisha was right there to pick up where he left off, quickly shouting at him to go and that Ginger was somewhere on that side too and could help.

☁ He shouted a thanks before taking off, immediately finding Ginger on the way. She had heard you too, ready to offer her assistance in anyway she could.

☁ They found you scrambling to get out of the boundary, Razzle and Dazzle quickly pulling you against them as their twisted form snarled, yanking against the weight holding them down. The image terrified them at the thought that any version of them could even think about hurting you.

☁ Between them, they shakily allowed Ginger to heal you, thanking her profusely before walking you back to elevator. Connie would take over the machine and that would be that.

☁ The run was ended soon after that, Razzle and Dazzle both taking you to Sprout And Cosmo as well to confirm you were alright. Both gave you a clean bill of health, along with Ginger doing so as well, finally easing their poor hearts.

☁ After that they would both need lots of love and extra affection that night to assure them that you are truly okay.

☁ But as I said previously for Razzle, both just want to make you as happy as you've made them.

WHAT'S UP!

Welcome to my post where I praise the fanon original league version of Jayvik!!!

I'm gonna be real, I will miss the Og machine herald Viktor. I never played league, and I'm not going to, but before season 2 came out I read his lore and he's actually a pretty fun character.

Then after season two act 1 came out, I dove into the world of fanfiction cause I started shipping Jayvik and found kind a few fics about the league of legend versions of the characters. And here is what I will say.

If we go with fanon alone, I actually prefer the league versions.

League Viktor and League Jayce are actual enemies for most of the time. They used to be colleagues, then Viktor was getting into brainwashing whilst Jayce was a dick and got him kicked out of the academy. He also didn't speak up when some other scientist took credit of Viktors invention. Oh and there were misunderstandings about some crystal...

Long story short, they don't like each other. But in the fics they often times either clear the misunderstandings and make up or yearn for each other whilst on opposite sites. Or they fight each other which leads to make out sessions because why not.

The characters are also generally more fun to read about.

Jayce is a huge dick, that is literally his most defining personality trade. He is a cocky bastard and people like him until they get to know him because he's just such an asshole.

And Viktor is just... Really fucking silly. He wants to get rid of his emotions and says that he already did get rid off them, but then Jayce pisses him off and you can tell no way?? Where did you get rid off your emotions? You've been whining non stop. There's also still love, kindness and empathy within Viktor, but he somehow convinces himself that he is emotionless. It gets especially good when that's played for comedy, which it oftentimes is!

Also, the nicknames! They still call each other Jayce and Viktor but Viktor also calls Jayce "Defender" short for "Defender of tomorrow" which is jayces title, and Jayce calls him either V or Machine Herald, depending on the mood.

Arcane season 2 was too rushed and packed with so many seperate story lines that we didn't have enough time for the characters. We needed at least one more season.

But the fanon for the league version, as someone who never played it, gives me this huge time frame of them being enemies but they used to be colleagues or friends (or more than friends depending on the writer), and then a huge time frame of them being enemies.

I think as much as I love Jayvik there, it's all just too sad, especially if you don't necessarily want to read act 1 fanfictions or AUs.

Also Viktor is super hard to characterize because his personally changes with almost every act. That's why I don't buy it when people complain about the way he is characterized because Ik all yall want is sassy S1 Act 1 Viktor, but I prefer the less confident and workaholic Act 2 Viktor. We are not the same.

The Fanon of League is just, somehow, more consistent in a way, because it has existed just much longer and people probably get inspired by the same shippers for how to write their dynamic.

Arcane fics though depend on how the individual interprets the characters, and with characters whose arcs were rushed sm it's just impossible.

So Og machine herald Viktor, you will be missed. I hope people don't stop writing for them and drawing fanart!!

What's the context as to what's going on exactly?

I assume you mean the people sending me death threats over a fanfictions I wrote (which is like... the 3rd? 4th? time this has happened now), but to summarize:

Ironically, I initially made this blog with the intention to just be very lowkey and post headcanons/silly posts/art and not engage in discourse.

At some point, I got an anon angry at me for mentioning how I viewed some of Aang's behavior towards Katara as toxic masculinity and answered it.

A kataang shipper reblogged the (properly tagged) post to whine at me even more, so I replied back with sources and maybe a little too much humor than she could handle, so she cried that I was a meanie and blocked me.

Had a few more experiences with Zutara haters reblogging my posts, making me increasingly annoyed.

I started writing more Zutara metas and criticizing canon more openly.

My posts got popular, popular enough that angry kataang stans started sharing screenshots of them around on here and Twitter.

I made fun of one particularly insane kataang stan who went on a few of my posts, and even into my DMs to screech at me for being every type of -phobic under the sun because I don't like Aang/Kataang. She still periodically blocks and unblocks me so she can shoot more of her brain vomit my way, and accuses me of harassing her for reposting screenshots of her unhinged comments to laugh at. She also accidentally followed me while trying to send an anon one time (I assume, since those buttons are close together) which was hilarious for someone who claims I bully and stalk her.

Recently, a bunch of kataang shippers got butthurt over a post I made referencing how Katara is drawn differently (it was a response to an Anon mentioning a much older post measuring the size of Katara's eyes and jawline) to make her appear younger during "romantic" moments with Aang. I commented on how I found it a creepy contrast and like how much more natural and human she seems while not with Aang, or with Zuko.

Another whiny brat kataang reblogged the (again, properly tagged) post calling me a pedophile, colonizer, racist, and whatever else his little rotten brain could come up with, and posted (without any trigger/content warnings!) out-of-context screenshots of a fanfiction I wrote exploring themes of sexual violence. This was apparently supposed to be "evidence" that I have a "fetish" or something, which needless to say, is an absolutely disgusting thing to say to a survivor talking about her experiences of sexual abuse, especially when you're a man who has never experienced that.

That brings us to why everyone is discoursing over the fic: Claws of Ice. Keep in mind, the majority of these people haven't read it, don't understand any of the context, and felt it was appropriate to leverage my trauma against me in the name of a ship war. The man in question is still crying about how he's the real victim here because I was apparently too mean to him when I responded to his accusations that I'm a pedophile and that my story of assault is a fetish to him, which is exactly the kind of male entitlement you'd expect.

So yeah! That's why they're all so obsessed with me, and throwing around every possible Bad Person accusation they can think of about me, but I really don't take it too seriously with that in mind. I was very nervous about posting this story in the first place because it was so heavy and personal and I was unsure of putting these themes out there, but the backlash has been oddly reassuring. The two biggest haters are that manbaby I mentioned, and that obsessive stalker who keeps spamming the atla-confessions blog with anons that are very obviously her while pretending she's trying to "calm down" the fandom, neither of whom can seem to formulate a coherent sentence. Like if that is the opposition, pretty sure I'm in the right here.

Respectfully asking for anti-Haladriels to stay the fuck out of our tags please. Wether it's to promote your Sauron or Galadriel x OC/Elrond/whoever fic or just for the sake of sharing your negative opinion on the ship, just, please, don't use our tags to do that.

Shitting on the ship using the tags usually used by shippers isn't going to go the way you think. Nobody's going to stop shipping Galadriel and Sauron because you, a stranger on Tumblr, will whine that Sauron "can't love" or that "it's abusive !" in our tags.

As far as I'm concerned, it'll only get you an instant block, and I'll keep shipping them. I can't speak on others' behalf, but I personnally don't give a fu*k about your opinion. I'm a grown ass woman who knows exactly what she signed up for lol

I'm bothered when I find your negative opinion of my ship clogging the Haladriel tags though, because that's not what I search the tags for.

You're tired of seeing Haladriel posts all the time? Honestly, I GET IT : I rarely ship myself, and I often found very annoyed at the fans of a fiction I like because they reduce everything to one ship... So yeah, I completely understand that it can be annoying. But here's a solution I found :

MUTING !

It's very easy to do, you'll probably see a certain number of grey boxes appearing on your dashboard because, well, there are many Haladriel related posts. But believe me, it's better than feeling that you've got some sort of "mission" to tell shippers that they're wrong and delusional to ship Galadriel and Sauron. It's not going to work, alright? Just put it in your head, once and for all. It's not going to work. Nobody's going to stop because you'll have clogged our tags with your anti rhetoric.

You want to feel free to moan about Haladriel... do it your heart's content, but please don't use our tags to do that ! It's just... basic fandom etiquette.

P.S: Of course the same courtesy should be asked from Haladriel shippers... Don't use others ships' tags to shit on said ship. Idk, it's the bare minimum of courtesy to let people enjoy fiction the way they want to do it.

What annoys me the most about people tacking on "white" to things they just find cringe so they feel like they can make fun of it (or disguise other forms of bigotry like misogyny or ableism) is that it also erases all the nonwhite people who fall into that category too. Specifically in activities or experiences nonwhite people are already heavily policed in or excluded from because of, yknow, actual racism. In the case of fandom, people like to whine about white fangirls when discussing pretty typical fandom behaviour that has nothing to do with race.

And I'm white so I have no right to whine about people discussing fandom racism or making jokes about white people or venting about racism, but when people casually say that all the "bad" kink or the shipping culture or some harmless cringe thing in fandom is actually white people making fandom worse, it doesn't bother me (the white girl) but certainly makes me feel worried for my fellow nonwhite fans who can be just as kinky and cringe and as big a shipper as I am. A statement like that is often not only plain mean and morally judgmental for harmless behaviour the speaker just doesn't like, it carries layers of uncomfortable implications and Otherization for fans who aren't white.

Being kinky and/or weird isn't a white person thing. It's a people thing. Saying that nonwhite people don't do kinky and/or weird things isn't a compliment but instead reinforces how nonwhite people already face stricter policing of their behaviour and sexuality. Idolization is a form of dehumanization as well and usually goes hand-in-hand with more restrictive expectations and harsher penalization for deviating from them.

Had to do another rambling because some Antis got their panties in a twist.

After posting my very clearly tagged Zutara headcanons last night, I saw a post in the Zutara tag this morning where some Antis were ranting about their usual nonsense.

I would've just blocked and moved on, but something caught my attention about the post. I realized what they were talking about was very likely a reference to my post from last night.

I don't remember all the details (I did end up blocking them), but the crux of their complaint was that Zutara shippers steal Kataang dynamics or something. Specifically, they were calling out a recent post about Katara and Zuko traveling around helping people (which I talked a lot about in my post, so that's why I think it was me they were calling out) and that that is exclusively a Kataang thing that I stole and applied to Zutara. Also, someone in the comments had added that, if Zuko ever did go around helping people it would only be with Mai.

There was also a lot of whining about seeing Zutara stuff when they were looking for Kataang. As if I hadn't clearly tagged my post as Zutara and even used the word within the first few sentences to let the reader know what the post was about.

(For pity's sake, moderate your tags or skip over something with a tag you don't like! It's not difficult!).

But back to the main argument that Zuko and Katara wouldn't travel around helping people together and that that is exclusive to Kataang.

That is absolute bullshit.

First off, it was a headcanon of mine and I can headcanon what I damn well please (as can everybody else).

Secondly, what even is that argument they were making? Did they completely ignore the fact that both Zuko and Katara are good-hearted, helpful people who are trying to make the world a better place? We see numerous instances in canon of them helping others for the sole reason that it's just their nature to do so. In fact, if anything, they are more likely to seek out people to help out of pure altruism than Aang, who usually just sort of stumbles across people in trouble and helps because it's his job as Avatar.

(I'm not insulting Aang. I'm just saying that he's more likely to goof off and avoid getting involved in something if he thinks it's not serious enough, whereas Katara and Zuko are more likely to leap at opportunities to be helpful).

A third reason this is ridiculous is that Aang doesn't own a monopoly on doing good or helping the world. Zuko was already planning to make changes to heal the damage the Fire Nation caused. He's an "idealist with a pure heart and unquestionable honor." Do the Antis really think he would sit around on his ass while there are orphans to feed and towns to rebuild and justice to be restored? Also, why would Katara not be out there doing her all to help the world regardless of whether Aang is involved or not? Katara "never turns her back on people who need [her]" so I doubt she'd let anyone decide for her whether she travels around to fix people's problems.

I could go on and on about why this Anti-Zutara argument was stupid, but I've addressed the main points.

So, I'll say this one last time. If you dislike Zutara, read the damn tags and avoid the post you don't want to see. Don't whine about it and make up nonsensical arguments for your faux outrage. Leave Zutara shippers alone and let us have our headcanons.

You already got your ship in Bryke's canon. Just let us enjoy our headcanons in peace.

Dazai sighed contentedly as he ran his fingers through Fyodor's soft hair, earning a rare purr of approval from the usually stoic man. "You're just even more adorable when you're not trying to kill me," he cooed, smirking when Fyodor half-heartedly swatted his hand away.

"Don't get cocky," Fyodor muttered, trying in vain to disguise the faint flush rising on his pale cheeks. He should have known better than to let his guard down around Dazai by this point.

As if on cue, Dazai's mischievous smirk widened. Before Fyodor could react, quick as a snake, Dazai jabbed his fingers into Fyodor's side. "Tickle attack!"

Fyodor yelped, nearly leaping out of his skin as surprised laughter burst unwillingly from his lips. "Dazai, no - ah! Stop!" He squirmed, swatting ineffectively at Dazai's wriggling fingers, but the hyperactive man had him pinned. The Russian merely thought about using his ability, but against Dazai, it was useless to even try and threaten.

"Aww, but your laugh is just too pretty!" Dazai cooed, mercilessly targeting Fyodor's most sensitive spots. Fyodor gasped for breath between bouts of hysterical giggles, tears already beading at the corners of his eyes.

Just when he thought he couldn't take anymore, Dazai finally showed mercy and pulled back, sighing happily as Fyodor collapsed against the couch, flushed and panting. "There, don't you feel better now?"

"No more." he glared

"Fine, no more" the other smirked

No sooner had Fyodor stumbled away, gasping for breath, than Dazai pounced again, dragging him back into place. "Psych! I lied~" He dug his nails playfully into Fyodor's sides, grinning at the hysterical squeaks it elicited.

Yes, Dazai was absolutely ruthless in his quest to reduce Fyodor to a crying, giggling mess. But Fyodor found, to his mingled joy and dismay, that he didn't really mind one bit.

"Hehe, as ticklish as a little mouse~"

That was the last straw. With enough determination forced out of mingled frustration and embarrassment, Fyodor managed to blow a raspberry near his lover's collarbone, getting the tickly upper hand on Data who darting for the living room entrance in retreat. But Fyodor managed to be surprisingly faster- his arm shot out, wrapping around Dazai's slender waist to yank him unceremoniously back

Okay I'm not sure there's actually an answer to this. It's definitely wincest and destiel fans but it's like. A toss up. Except that tinhats are more annoying than any wincest or destiel shipper will ever be but I'm not counting them here.

Some wincest fans did this last year and still think this was just fine because they see themselves as perpetual victims who can do no wrong and are always being persecuted for their beliefs in incest (???), Meanwhile they're acting like huge pieces of shit and have forgotten that pRoShIpPiNg also means respecting other people's icks. A lot of wincest shippers are also extremely self-deceived about what other groups of them get up to. Like you cannot with a straight face tell me that wincest shippers know how to leave the cast alone and respect other fans while [redacted] and her cronies continue to do what they do to everyone and their mom and multiple anti-destiel blogs appear multiple times a year circumventing blocking to go around and whine and cry and shit themselves on posts about Dean and Cas. Also I know about your 2022 split over interfandom racism and far right conspiracies, Leonard.

Then like. Destiel fans can't get along with each other. They send each other plenty of hate mail over stupid shit. I've noted before that most of the negative experiences I've had with the fandom were with destiel shippers who don't like Dean. And they get really mad that I won't cry and leave the internet. Also one time someone decided to make an spnblr crush blog where people can send in anonymous love messages to each other, and some idiots decided that there should also be an anonymous hate blog for "balance" where you can tag other destiel shippers you hate with a burning passion. As you can imagine, that backfired super quickly with thousands of messages coming in and many people got named... more than they deserved to be named—not that anyone deserved that at all. Like there were people EYE don't like on there who I am mutually blocked with who got named hundreds of times on those blogs and I still feel bad for them and they didn't deserve that shit. Also I think some fans of SPN who aren't actually fans of SPN and post about the show in a mean-spirited way got way out of hand on here for a while and they got huge heads about it and started swinging their meat around everywhere.

Going through the 911 associated tags used to be fun.

Now it makes me sad, tense, and even angry.

It took less than two minutes of scrolling several different 911 related tags to see DOZENS of posts that were insulting other fandom groups, writers, actors or whoever, were seriously inflammatory, or, I'm going to be real about this, were just plain unhinged.

I've been in many different fandoms over many years. It was all about connecting, meeting cool people, and stoking the fires or creativity. Now it's ship wars and fighting. There are fandoms that are small and close-knit and, after decades, have never had any of this going on.

It's saddening to see how this fandom is devolving. A few people in every group are ruining the fandom for everyone else.

What is making it worse is that there are enablers defending them while accusing other groups in fandom of being "toxic" and "crazy".

Let's be rational about this:

1-Buddie and BuckTommy fandoms, both of you should be objective and honest. Both groups have members that are doing terrible things and making everyone look bad. If you are pointing the finger across the aisle but not at your fellow shippers who are behaving badly, you are not a part of the solution.

Only one person is going to choose what happens. No amount of fighting, whining, insults, namecalling, or whatever is going to get him to change his mind.

Can anyone who is brave look into HenRen, Madney, and Bathena posts and tell me if those tags are in chaos, too? Or are they safe havens for those who can enjoy all the different relationships? (Karen, Athena, and Maddie are badasses anyway. How can you not like them?)

2 Actor fandoms are involved wars?

Lou fandoms versus Ryan fandoms? Why are you arguing over two actors who are just doing what they are paid to do and that is say words in a script and play make-believe? Lou is not Tommy; Ryan is not Eddie. Tommy Kinard and Edmundo Diaz are not real and their actors are not necessarily anything like their characters.

Unless I know someone personally, there is no way I am defending anything they say or do. Why would I do that? I am going to take their actions at face value and move along. If it is especially ignorant or egregious, and I have a free moment, I call it out, say they are dumb, then be on my way. Why? Their personal and political beliefs don't influence me.

There is one member of the regular cast who said some very egregious and ignorant things as themselves and did some things that come across as antagonistic at best. The actions and statements were, imho, offensive and Indefensible, yet the attention on it vanished quickly and even the people who called them out are now friendly with them again. I probably would distance myself from that person permanently, but that's just me.

Now, there is a recurring character who said some things that has fandom riled. I have to look into it more.

But so? They are people, meaning they have some beliefs that are cool and some that suck. I just need them to bring the characters to life to get the story told then go home.

Actors engaging in questionable behavior is not the same as the character an actor portrays being a canonical douchebag. You have to blame the writers for what the characters do.

One is real; the other is just a figment of someone's imagination.

I used to scroll through the tags to get away from the stress and BS of the day real life brings. If I want a headache or stress, I can get that IRL in seconds.

It was nice to spend my down time looking at cool fanart, clips, fic excerpts, prompts, metas, or whatever. The responses and reblogs were full of hilarious quips and reactions. It was just fun.

Search the anti tag for Lumity and Huntlow, you'll see most of the posts are from L*nter shippers, while the minority is from Willuz shippers. I swear, I hate L*nter with every fibre of my being, and obviously, many of its shippers are just as hateful. Not all of the shippers are like that but there are so many of them being problematic. They constantly hate on Amity and Willow for getting in the way of their ship by calling both of them boring, Amity being just Luz's gf, Willow being toxic to Hunter, etc. They say Lumity shippers being biphobia for hating their ship, and some still draw Luz cheating on Amity with Hunter, feeding to the harmful biphobia stereotype, how ironic. They would say Huntlow is a crackship that Dana adds in the last minute, but some would whine about L*nter is supposed to be canon because of a drawing of Luz kissing an unknown prince in Sense and Insensitivity. Some shippers are disgusting proshippers because they also ship Am*ter at the same time. A L*nter artist on X, //WeinasWan even draws a comic of them beating Lumity and Huntlow shippers because the shippers are happy about their ships have a kiss scene and being canon. //WeinasWan also hate on both Amity and Willow for getting in their ship, making a comic about Amity will become an abuser like Odalia, and saying Willow only gets noticed because of Huntlow. They even hate on Dana for not making their ship canon.

I think I can finally pinpoint what bothers me so much about the Lenector ship - not even how it was treated in the show, but the very idea of making it "nuanced".

Long story short, I found an author that promised to flesh out the Lenector storyline in the show, including getting a better insight into Lenore's thought process and rewriting some of the dialogue (I appreciated that they fixed the "interrogation" in S3 to make Hector specify that he never cared about a reward, it made him look less stupid)

Author never rewrote the rape scene, which disappointed me but oh well, but they did write Hector and Lenore finally talking about the ring, a discussion sorely missing in S4. It was more or less what I would have written: Lenore swearing that she had no choice and it was for his own good and protection, and Hector lamenting that she still tricked him and made him into a pet and she could have been honest because he would have agreed to work with them.

... but he's still in love with her. He kisses her gladly. And his "conflict", his anger at the betrayal, is framed as something in the way of his love, an obstacle that he'd have to get over it.

And there it is.

Even with the acknowledgement that what Lenore did was horrible, there is the assumption that Hector, after a good talk, is bound to forgive her. That it still makes sense that he'd be attracted to her. That it's okay, because she meant well. That it's okay, because she didn't technically lie, only twisted the truth to wear down his mental defenses (already worn down by imprisonment and abuse)! Oh, I guess I must have dreamed Lenore saying that she wanted to run away with him before kissing him :) to be fair, it was a terrible piece of writing. Good thing it wasn't real, apparently!

Yes, Hector's forgiveness should have taken time, but it should have happened. Because Lenore is not a bad person and they deserved to be together. Because what she did, which was deliberately push her prisoner in a delicate mental state into having sex with her so that she'd put an enslaving ring without his consent, was just an honest mistake and doesn't speak at all of her morality.

She's the best he got. She's nice to him, because she makes cute dick jokes and goes to whine to him. She's better than Dracula, who lied to him (Lenore never did), and better than Carmilla, who was violent with him (Lenore never was). This is not to be taken as a sign of how horribly this man has been treated in life, and how he'd be happy with the smallest of crumbs because he has been broken that badly. Lenore is the happiness he deserves. Ignore how "your life could be worse" is literal textbook abuser logic, it's true in his case.

The problem with S4 is not that it excused Lenore's rape by deception. It's that it rushed the forgiveness that was due and didn't allow them to be together. Lenore's suicide was Ellis hating this character that completely overtook Carmilla's already established role and was treated far more magnanimously than the similar Japanese not-twins, clearly!

And this is the impasse I cannot get over. Every time, every damn time, even when fans agree that S4 was a disaster, all arguments funnel to this one part: Lenore raping Hector for her plans is not a moral event horizon. Hector loving her makes perfect sense and it is a tragic, "nuanced" romance that should have ended with the two kissing in the sunset, finally having in their arms someone who truly respects them.

^ the face of someone who only wanted to protect and take care of the prisoner whom she tricked into sex. She should have been happy with him forever and ever, really 🥺

I'm not judging the shippers' morality, obviously, I don't know any of these people. But the arguments they use make me sick to my stomach, which is made even worse by the fact that the show itself pushes this narrative, just in a way that was so shitty that even the fans were like "bruh".

I won't bother rewriting this trash, because I can do better with the gameverse. But if I ever did, I'd only ask for Hector to at least be conflicted until her sunning (which is not as nonsensical as fans seem to think lol, it just needs to be worded better). Like he recognizes that she did improve his life, but she used unforgivable means for no good reason. You want a tragic romance between two kindred souls? Remove that despicable, cruel act. The Lenore of S3 and the Lenore of S4 are irreconcilable and trying to do so always degenerates in rape apologism whether you mean it or not.

liking nahyo to me is only natural because i'm not just a jihyo stan, nayeon is also my ultimate bias! as i was never a sahyo fan, it was always jeonghyo and nahyo for me. i guess liking jeonghyo is pretty much natural if you're a jihyo/jeongyeon stan, but nahyo is still my favorite — and it's all because of nayeon.

that jihyo is nayeon's baby everybody knows, but people don't pay enough attention to the fact that nayeon talks about her in the sweetest way, giving attention to things that others don't. she does the jihyo character study for me! from her perspective, jihyo is the cutest member, jihyo is full of anger, jihyo is a princess. and nayeon is so needy for her too, she wants to hang out with jihyo so bad. i guess this happened more in the old days, but nayeon was constantly whining because she wasn't involved or couldn't see jihyo-related stuff before the public. and the praising, nayeon does that the most, randomly calling jihyo pretty and cute so often.

I saw this in the haladriel tag on x and I think I pinned down the reason why there are certain people who can't handle dark ships and won't stop invalidating them by screaming about abuse/misogyny. It's because in their minds, they take things very concretely, not being able to 'read between the lines', and thus it's hard for them to really think in abstract ways. They just can't divorce fictional characters from actual problems in society. Don't get me wrong, there is a parallel between them that exists as a fine line, and we should absolutely call some things out. But in the realm of fictional characters, shipping, and make believe? That's strictly a 'them/individual' problem, not an 'us' problem. There are SO many haladriel shippers. We get so many fanart by talented people, many of whom haven't even heard of Tolkien. Are they supporting misogyny or have they had to 'navigate thru misogynist takes' in order to draw two characters together because they like their dynamic? It's not our fault that these canon police antis can't separate fiction from reality, and see every aggression toward a female character (unless it's by another female character, or it's a m/m relationship) as misogyny, while ignoring actual inequality in societies around us, as well as ignoring the truth that men can also become victims of abuse/violence. It all goes back to the funny hypocrisy of touting a beloved female character with admirable traits like strong, fierce, powerful, but the instant a male character challenges her and shows any kind of aggression at her - because spoiler alert, he's a villain, it's literally how he was written - these canon police antis whine about misogyny instead of just saying they don't see what shippers see in a fictional pairing and leave it at that. Like, it's ok, you don't need a reason to not like a pairing. The funny thing is, for all their fascination on Galadriel and Sauron as individuals, they fail to comprehend Sauron's character beyond what is stated in black and white in front of them (going back to the concrete vs abstract thinking). I'm not even a huge fan of Charlie, and even I can understand the 'seeing Gal as a trophy' bit is just a very simplified jest at the comparison to Morgoth and the Silmarils. If they actually bothered to read more of his interviews, it's very clear he sees her as beyond just that. Oh, she's just another ring to him basically? Ok but then why do I keep hearing cosmic connection spoken by him anytime Galadriel is brought up in interviews? Cosmic connection flew over this person's head like a frisbee.
