Eternal Bonds: Tim and Danny’s Infinite Realms Marriage
In the Infinite Realms, marriage is an unparalleled commitment. Unlike the mortal world, where love can be fleeting and easily undone, marriage in the Realms is something far more sacred. It’s not just about vows or ceremonies—it’s about merging souls, creating a bond that not even the vast stretches of time can sever. The very idea of marriage in the Realms is rare, almost mythical, because it requires two beings to love each other so profoundly that they’re willing to bind their very existence to one another.
For the ghosts and entities that reside in this realm, eternity isn’t just a poetic idea—it’s a reality. Time is meaningless when you’re no longer alive, when your very essence is bound to the afterlife. And because of this, relationships are viewed through a different lens. There’s no such thing as divorce, no “time apart.” Once a couple is bound, their souls are intertwined forever. To dedicate your entire being—past, present, and future—to another means accepting that their joys, sorrows, triumphs, and failures will be yours too. It’s a partnership where breaking the bond is simply impossible.
It’s why marriage is such a rare occurrence in the Realms. The ghosts, who have already lived one life and often seen the frailty of mortal promises, don’t enter into this kind of bond lightly. It’s only for the strongest of loves, for the most steadfast of commitments. Because once you marry in the Infinite Realms, that bond holds through eternity itself.
And yet, despite the gravity of it all, Tim and Danny find themselves willing to make that very commitment. Tim, a mortal tied to a world where things end, where nothing lasts forever, steps into the unknown. His love for Danny is so deep, so unshakable, that he agrees to a traditional Infinite Realms marriage. He knows full well the weight of it—he’s not just vowing to love Danny in this life, but in every life after. In swearing to this bond, Tim is offering his entire being to Danny, for now and all of eternity.
For Danny, this choice means even more. As a halfa, he exists between two worlds, knowing both the mortality of the living and the permanence of the ghostly afterlife. His love for Tim is powerful enough that he’s willing to make this eternal commitment, knowing that there’s no one else in any world—mortal, ghostly, or beyond—he would rather be tied to. For Danny, the bond is as natural as breathing. It’s a connection that deepens their relationship in a way that transcends the limitations of their two worlds.
Their marriage isn’t just a declaration of love—it’s a merging of souls, a binding that makes them two parts of the same whole. It overwhelms them with the sense of safety and belonging that they’ve both craved in their lives. In each other, they find the kind of love that doesn’t just endure life’s difficulties but thrives beyond them. Their bond ties them together forever in a way that no one else could understand, but to Tim and Danny, it’s everything.
They are each other’s home. And in the Infinite Realms, there is no greater honor, no stronger connection, than to be bound by love for all of eternity.
#brain dead#dead tired#tim drake#danny phantom#danny fenton#dc x dp#i totally think that marriage should be a sacred thing in the afterlife because you are promising to love someone for all eternity#eternity in a very literal sense btw#tim and danny should also just be undeniable soulmates in like every world ever#you can also totally make this angsty depending on how you think tim will end up in the realms#i had a few ideas#an interesting route could be that the traditional Infinite Realms marriage alters Tim fundamentally#turning him into a halfa like Danny#this transformation would ensure that they are not only emotionally and spiritually bonded#but also physically tied to the same plane of existence#another being tim might age much slower almost as if he’s been granted an extended lifespan#so that they can share a near-eternity together#he would still be alive but his mortality would be stretched out far beyond a normal human lifespan#i think this one is more devastating tho:#danny has to watch tim grow old while he remains ageless or only ages very slowly#but because the wedding binds their souls in the afterlife tim would not truly leave danny forever upon death#instead the moment tim's mortal life ends his soul could be drawn into the infinite realms to live with danny for eternity#agh theres just so much potential for this idea!! so many things i can add and have thought abt that would be so interesting to see!#i'm so in love with this concept

now that i've finished tgcf i can make memes about all three books! i was tempted to put binghe at the absolute center because he could easily go into any quadrant at different points in his life, and both lwj and hua cheng could swing jock, but i think the most important thing is that wei wuxian is all four at once. somehow.
#mxtx#svsss#mdzs#tgcf#sqq is about as big of a nerd as you can get#and he's definitely more prep than goth bc rich boy#lbh could really go anywhere. his white lotus vibes and post-abyss vibes are in direct opposition on this chart#like i would put white lotus binghe in the prep nerd zone bc he's a little teacher's pet#and then he comes out of the abyss as a goth jock and it scrambles sqq's brain#wwx is a huge nerd but also a huge jock. he's extremely goth but also as head disciple was definitely a prep. he can do it all#lwj is definitely a prep and i put him in the nerd zone bc of The Rules™#but being the kind of cultivator he is requires being at least a bit of a jock#xie lian is without a doubt a jock#i love that he's absolutely jacked because he's been doing physical labor for 800 years without spiritual powers#in his crown prince days he'd be a prep. he doesn't really fit into either category these days#as much as xie lian is without a doubt a jock#hua cheng is that much a goth#i put him in the nerd section bc of all his exposition and how much he knows about literally everything#but he could be a jock. drawing on his soldier roots i suppose#anyway don't take this too seriously it's for funsies

if i'm being entirely honest i find the term "spiritual psychosis" annoying at best. it makes me feel as though i, as someone with schizoaffective disorder, need to work extra hard to "prove" my spiritual beliefs are valid.
here's the thing. my spirituality has always been and will always be flavored and colored by being schizoaffective. even when i was an atheist i could not untangle the two. there's never going to be a way for me to know where the line is drawn between my spiritualism and my psychosis. for example i will probably never shake the idea that i died and was resurrected, and that event holds SIGNIFICANT spiritual meaning for me, even on antipsychotics, even when i can recognize that yes, it's probably the remains of a delusion.
so please tell me, why is it anyone else's business if i incorporate that into my religious practices? it harms no one and gives me one more reason to rejoice. if it started causing actual problems, putting me in danger, causing me distress, bringing along disorganized thinking or anything of the sort, that's when it would be time for me to get help. but really and truly i would not want random people im not close with to tell me to get that help, especially if their only clues into my mental state come from my spiritual practices. i am not a dog to be taken to the vet. sometimes people are psychotic and we exist in your communities and we have religious beliefs and you have GOT to suck it up and allow space for us, however our conditions affect us and our practices.
it's also just. buries my face in my hands. you can just say psychosis, you don't need a special term for it. again it just makes me feel like i'm being singled out and not being taken seriously because there's a long LONG history of psychotic/schizospec people having our mental illnesses used as reason to disregard us. please just mind your business.
#cadaver speaks#mostly prompted by me looking into godspousing after a very interesting experience#and seeing someone basically say most godspouses are experiencing spiritual psychosis#which read more to me as a complaint about how other people practice than actual concern for people's mental health#do i know whether i was visited by dionysus or just have silly silly brain chemicals? NOPE#and it's entirely fucking futile to try to figure it out because you can't prove any gods exist and i'm an unreliable narrator!#so i have to ask myself: what will make me happy?#should i deny myself the joy of worship just because i drew the short straw and got saddled with schizoaffective?#or should i say fuck it and do what will make me happy?#i want to live! i beg to live!! i am wrenching the fullness of my feeble human life from nonpsychotics' hands!!!#obligatory disclaimer that if you're psychotic/schizospec and you find the term spiritual psychosis useful that's fine#anyway. society will not be free until the lunatics are free from our chains and shackles. or something#mad pride#schizophrenia#schizoaffective#actually schizophrenic#actually schizoaffective#actually schizospec#spirituality#paganism#witchcraft#mental health#if anyone willfully misinterprets what i'm saying you owe me one thousand usd#if it doesn't make sense reread the post or move on. good Bye

i really really really love the idea of wei wuxian revolutionizing modern cultivation over breakfast and conceptualizing these different theories simultaneously because the adhd brain has no brakes and the only reason it took him a decade to publish all these ideas was because he could not stick to a single train of thought long enough to finish (verbalizing) it, let alone put it down on paper coherently.
the only reason he even got to publishing them eventually (and enrolling to cultivation theory grad program to get on that track) was because one morning, his undergrad thesis advisor, lan qiren, finally got fed up and sat him down for an early morning progress check-in because it was midterm season and wei wuxian still hadn't decided on a topic.
wei wuxian, fueled by an unhealthy amount of redbull and three all-nighters, finally word vomits all his 'convoluted' ideas which he'd thought were uselessly obvious and redundant (because he's gone over these like a bajillion times, it's very plain-as-day to him, so he probably just hasn't read the articles that say these exact things).
lan qiren, teacup frozen halfway to his mouth: ...first of all, i only understood half of how you got to these conclusions, which only means they are indeed too convoluted and will need to be pared down; secondly: you have never mentioned any of these ideas before. why.
wei wuxian: oh. haven't i? oh well, i just thought, xyz, because, obviously, abcde. which is really what the 2 centuries old law on ghjkl was alluding to, right? and so, logically, xyz.
lan qiren: [mind blown, screaming, good gods this is the same child who's always tardy and spent freshman year pulling on the metaphorical pigtails of my straight-laced nephew?!?!??!??!?!] ..again, why...how have you never even spoken or submitted these ideas?
wei wuxian: because!!! they're so obvious!! surely, it's been published somewhere already? i can't be the only one to connect these dots, surely??
lan qiren: incredibly, you are. no one else has even thought to question tradition nor pursued more thoughts on the law of ghjkl, with half as much...sound arguments as you seem to have. in the past century, the focus of modern cultivation has tended towards practical uses and tools, some fine-tuning, perhaps. not entirely new theories.
wei wuxian: huh....
lan qiren, sighing, feeling a migraine: your problem with your thesis is not a lack of focus or ingenuity, but likely to be more a lack of recent, evidentiary sources. you will need to become very familiar with the university archives and dig deep for sources that will back up every argument you make.
he jots down notes on a paper. "you will also need to strictly adhere to the structure and methodology of these articles, especially given how radical your thesis will be. if you are diligent enough, you may just be able to submit your thesis without too much of a delay." he slides the list of materials to a gaping wei wuxian. "depending on your output then, we can discuss the possibility of submitting this for peer review."
"peer review." wei wuxian repeats. "as in, that thing where some uppity committee of old coots put their stamp of approval for it to become the reading materials of undergrads like me. you're joking."
lan qiren chooses to ignore the sentiment about peer review committees being uppity old coots, especially considering how he can't completely deny it on account of some of his colleagues, but also as a member said peer review committee, he isn't exactly pleased about being lumped in the same category.
wei wuxian backtracks at his unamused look. "right, you're not joking, of course you're not." he slowly inches the list towards himself. "right, yes, i guess i'll uh, get to it then. ok bye."
----
idk, just, waves hand at wei wuxian candidly explaining new modern cultivation theories over cheerios at 2 in the afternoon to lwj who's trying to help him structure his grad thesis, getting mind blow dick hard at how this messy genius who's talking with his mouth full of half eaten cereal is the object of his affection....
wwx: --oh, oops, your highlighter fell
lwj: mn
wwx: ...aren't you gonna get that?
lwj: it's fine; i'll pick it up later. finish your thought.
wwx: right... i'll pick it up for you!
lwj, fighting for his life, trying to think unsexy thoughts: NO! sit. finish your meal, and then your thought.
#big brain wei wuxian#wei wuxian#genius wwx#in an interview for modern cultivation magazine he's asked: how do you do it?#wwx: adhd!#also a dedicated partner who tolerates your midnight rambling about spiritual energy and entertains your endless what ifs scenarios#bonus points if your partner is lwj who has amazing notetaking skills and a phd in decoding wei wuxian notes#wangxian#mdzs#modern cultivation au#also i love a supportive mentor lqr dont you#a mellowed out lqr who has a little more tolerance for radical ways of thought as long as theyre rooted in morality and good will#mamoonde short fics

This one change to your meditation practice will make all the difference, but most people may not want to do it
First off, if you're meditating daily then you're doing great!
Any amount of meditation on a daily basis is always better than no meditation. It is also better to meditate for 15 minutes per day than it is to meditate for 3 hours once per week. By making meditation a daily practice, it has an effect that builds on itself every day.
But aside from sitting daily, what else can ensure we see results from our committed practice?
Longer sittings
While many apps and programs will advocate for short 5, 10, or 15 minute meditations, if you really want to see significant changes as a result of meditation then you need to start thinking along the lines of 30 to 45 minute sessions. Daily.
It's a much bigger time commitment than just a few minutes and it can be more challenging for beginners to endure--but hear me out. Because just by enduring it, you are guaranteed results.
Various studies have found that physical changes in the brain observable on MRI occur after 8 weeks of 45 minute daily practice. This doesn't mean to say changes don't happen right from your very first sitting. There have been other studies that show changes in genetic expression during a beginner meditator's very first session.
But that said, you will physically change your brain and, as a result, many aspects of your consciousness with only 8 weeks of dedicated practice. Not years. Weeks.
The reason why an emphasis on results is important is because it links cause and effect. If you know firsthand that meditation practice changes you in unique and significant ways, you are more likely to continue your practice.
But why is sitting for longer important? What different does it make in practice?
Well, there is a very good technical reason as to why longer meditations are more effective.
Cognitive inertia
The mind's activity is like a ceiling fan that is constantly spinning and spinning. Learning how to sit, focus your attention, and relax without actively thinking is like learning how to flip the "off" switch for the ceiling fan. But even after it is turned off, the fan keeps spinning! The fan needs time to slow down and then to stop.
The first thing every non-meditator says to me is that they can't practice meditation because they can't stop all the thoughts in their head. And my response is always the same: you don't have to.
There is a difference between actively thinking and having thoughts pop up. We can learn to consciously control our active thinking but we cannot control thoughts popping up.
Learning to meditate is like learning how to flip that off switch for the ceiling fan. But then that doesn't mean your head wont still be chaotic and noisy; the fan is still spinning. Once you stop adding to the chaos by actively thinking, you have to give the mind time to settle down on its own. You cannot force it into silence.
The longer you sit for meditation, the more time you give your mind to slow down, decompress, and settle into wakeful silence.
Trust the process
Thoughts popping up, coming and going, is like the movement of the ceiling fan even after you turn it off. But if you start actively thinking about those thoughts, analyzing them and such, then it's like turning the fan back on.
Once you realize you've started down a train of thought, you need only to take a breath and redirect your focus back to the meditation technique.
As a beginner, you are mostly learning how to focus your attention without straining. How to be relaxed and focused. You are learning to recognize when you have accidentally fallen into actively thinking and then to forgive your lapse and return back to the focus of the meditation. It is the process of learning how to flip the switch and turn off the fan.
As you progress, you will be able to remain focused without actively thinking for the entire sitting. That still doesn't mean your mind will be silent. Thoughts may still whirl around.
But the longer you sit without active thinking, the more you digest and release all of these thoughts, reactions, fears, desires, triggers, and judgments.
Inner silence is not the goal, but it is the outcome
The chaotic mind is like glass of water filled with churning dirt particles. If you try to push the particles to the bottom of the cup, it will only stir things up more. You need to leave the water alone long enough and everything settles on its own.
The inner silence that you will find in meditation is nothing like how you imagine it. If you try to imagine it, it sounds rather dull and boring. But in actual experience, this inner silence isn't an absence of something. Instead it feels quite fulfilling, tasty, pleasant, and heartening. And that becomes another struggle for beginners: not clinging to the wonderful experiences/feelings that arise during meditation.
So when you can sit without active thinking and then sit long enough, you will start to have meditation sessions in which you dwell in/as an exquisite silence. That is when the meditation process itself kicks into an even higher gear, and it's when meditation itself can be an enjoyable experience.
However, and I cannot emphasize this enough, you will enjoy the benefits of meditation in your daily life well before you enjoy the actual meditation sessions. Even after just a week or two of solid daily practice, you will notice a difference.
As you become progressively free from anxieties, triggers, fixed imprints, and other forms of inner suffering, you will find the increased ease and freedom to be the best version of yourself.
Keep this in mind as you develop your daily practice.

Okay, but seriously, I have a mighty need for a Yue Qingyuan who came out of the cave something less than human. CW for body horror of the "bit like OG form Zhuzhi Lang, but dragon instead of snake and at least one third sword and very, very painful" variety.
They broke his body and the failed bond shattered his meridians and when he was nothing but broken broken broken, locked in the dark with only his terror and Xuan Su for company
he forgot, for a while, that he was meant to be human.
He was pain and regret and more pain and it's not like he could see himself in the pitch black of the cave. Something bled all over the walls, the floor and even the ceiling, and it could very well have been that neither sword nor boy knew how much blood there was supposed to be in the human body and that was all. It would have been strange, but not the strangest thing to ever happen. If some of the marks on the stone looked too much like clawmarks, that was only a coincidence. Some luckily spaced sword slashes, his Shizun insisted when Mu shidi pointed them out the day they came to fetch him.
He eventually put himself back together, after all. Xiao Jiu was expecting his Qi-ge, not whatever the thing thrashing against the walls of the cave was. He sheathed Xuan Su - he didn't remember the heavy scabbard, carved bone and eerily warm to the touch, but the metal inlay matched the sword so surely it was already there. He just forgot about it. His Shizun stared at the bleached bone, his face going pale as a sheet, and ordered everyone not to touch it, as if it would bite anyone who was not Yue Qi.
Xiao Jiu was his reason, the center of his world, so he put himself together to be the best and warmest big brother his Xiao Jiu cold ever want - and he would never talk about the thing in the cave. When he let himself think too long on it he was certain that Yue Qi died in the dark and he's whatever beast of pain and guilt that hatched from his corpse.
He couldn't bear to tell Xiao Jiu that Qi-ge wasn't strong enough to survive, not even for his sake, so he said nothing. Continues to say nothing. Whatever betrayal Xiao Jiu imagines, it couldn't possibly measure up to the enormity of Qi-ge's failure.
It takes a small thing to unmake him, in the grand scheme of things. He is walking with Shen Qingqiu from the latest Peak Lord meeting when something strange tickles the back of his throat. The tiniest bit of suspicious pollen that escaped the Medicine Peak's greenhouse, maybe a whiff of some rare beast Liu Qingge dragged back to show off to his disciples.
It's the strangest sneeze he ever experienced, one that seems to upend the very world, and when he focuses his eyes again Shen Qingqiu is staring at him with a wild mixture of fascination, anger and terror. Only when he opens his maws to ask what startled the other when he realizes that the shell of Sect Leader Yue has unraveled to show the beast he became in the dark.
Xiao Jiu was never meant to see him like this, never meant to discover the beast under the shell, so he never bothered to fix this part of himself. As far as he can tell from a cursory glance (Xiao Jiu makes a noise of distress when the beast tries to turn his head to take stock of himself, so he immediately turns back in alarm) he looks mostly like a dragon, albeit one that someone tried to put through a round or three of lingchi, skin and scales and flesh peeling from where he rubbed it raw against the walls of the cave. Makes sense, he thinks. He hasn't seen it in years, but there is a dragon etched into Xuan Su's blade.
Remembering his sword, he looks around in alarm to locate it.
"It's right there." Xiao Jiu sounds unusually queasy as he gestures towards the beast's chest. He twists his long neck until he can see and oh, there it is, safe and snug, sheathed between his ribs. He breathes deep to feel his lungs expand against it, twists around to see if any movement would dislodge it or not, but it's safe there. It doesn't hurt one bit. It belongs there.
"Thank you, Xiao Jiu." It comes out a little garbled, but he brightens up to discover that he can still speak, right until the moment Xiao Jiu makes a hysterical hiccuping sound. He made that noise before, when a horse kicked his Qi-ge and he thought the hoof had caved his skull in.
"Don't speak. Please." After a moment of silence he rallies anew and swiftly strips off his outmost robe so he can throw it over the beast's head. "And don't you dare take that off!"
It smells like Xiao Jiu, so the beast that was once Qi-ge is content to stay where he is while Shen Jiu turns into a hurricane of action - he drags Mu shidi and his medics over, yells at the disciples until they clear out one of the isolated stone gardens for him, sends runners to Wan Jian and to every peak's library pavilions to see if they can dig up anything useful - and all the while he is bombarding Mu Qingfang with questions, having soon sussed out that their shidi knows something about this situation.
While Xiao Jiu rakes poor Mu shidi over the coals the beast sits placidly among the many senior medics, listening to the Qian Cao head disciple mumble under her breath while she notes down all their findings. So, he's not quite a dragon, after all. Some parts of him are still clearly Yue Qi. That thought makes him smile a little as he looks down at one of his hands, rubbing the dried blood off his shattered claws. He broke all of them, trying to get out of the cave, as well as most of his bones. He is absently aware that he is in agony, but he can't fully comprehend what that means right now, so it's fine. No reason to make the medics worry over it.
The head disciple makes a very interesting noise of disbelief when someone reports that some of his bones are actually swords, apparently. They are not sure what his guts are made of, but based on the sudden, alarmed sounding whispers it's probably nothing pleasant.
They let him take the robe off his head, but they have hastily covered all the surfaces where he might see his own reflection and some of them look decidedly green whenever they look at him directly, so he buries his face back in the soft fabric and lets his world narrow down to the scent of his Xiao Jiu.
He must have dozed off, because when he wakes up all the medics have left. It's only him in the garden and a tired looking Xiao Jiu. He sits up to show the other that he's aware and listening.
"Qi-ge, what have you done to yourself?" Xiao Jiu looks angry and hurt and all the things Yue Qi doesn't want him to be. "All these years. If only you had told me! Didn't I deserve to know?!"
Yue Qi hangs his head in shame. Opens his mouth, but swallows the well-worn 'sorry' down before it could escape from between his cracked teeth.
At long last Xiao Jiu sighs. Then slowly, bashfully, spreads his arms. "Aren't you going to comfort me? I'm giving you permission, just this once. Come down here and hug me, Qi-ge."
Joy surges through Yue Qi and he collapses into Xiao Jiu's arms before he can think twice about it and he's back, he's as human again as he will ever be, two arms, two legs and two eyes brimming with tears as he clutches his Xiao Jiu.
Xuan Su clatters to the ground and Xiao Jiu clutches him right back, long nails hooking into his back like they never want to let him go. "Don't you dare scare me like that ever again! Stupid Qi-ge."
Yue Qi can't promise the impossible, can't bear to lie to his Xiao Jiu. But he murmurs the promise that he will try his best into the silk of Xiao Jiu's robes and that has to be good enough for now.
"We will work on it, together," Xiao Jiu orders indulgently and Yue Qi doesn't remember the last time he was this happy.
For the first time since the caves he feels that maybe the boy and the beast are the same thing after all. They have to be, to hold the same love.
#svsss#yue qingyuan#shen jiu#shen qingqiu#tc writes#I'm tempted to write a companion to this from SQQ's PoV#because YQY is /aware/ that he's fucked up but half his brain is a spiritual sword atm so his awareness is uuuh#he's just happy that apparently he's still Yue Qi tbh#he doesn't stop being a half-dragon-half-sword abomination btw#he would need to get therapy for that to happen and we all know there's no therapy in papapa land#but as long as Shen Jiu wants him to be human shaped then he will be human shaped#and they will slowly work on that ptsd anyway
