Born on this day 84 years ago: luscious, pouting rock’n’roll heartthrob and "British Elvis" Billy Fury (real name: Ronald Wycherley, 17 April 1940 - 28 January 1983). I’m such a keen Fury devotee I’ve even been known to suffer through Play It Cool (1962) the virtually unwatchable cheap’n’cheerful rock’n’roll musical he starred in (think of it as his “Elvis movie”). As an actor, Fury (doomed to die aged just 42) is merely adequate and visibly uncomfortable onscreen, but so moody and exquisitely photogenic it scarcely matters. (Like Presley, in his close-ups Fury clearly favours heavy mascara and eyeliner). For anyone unfamiliar with his music, The Sound of Fury (1969) is his chef-d'œuvre. It represents the closest a UK artist came to capturing the grit of American rockabilly. But I also love Fury’s lush, soaring pop ballads like ��Last Night Was Made for Love” and “Halfway to Paradise”.

Have been dealing with my Anxiety Disorder™ lately, because [gestures at everything]. Normally it’s a real low level kind of thing, I’m on medication, I occasionally have therapy, but I think now we’re all just kind of In It for a while and that’s just something we gotta deal with.

I would strenuously encourage everyone reading this to find the things that keep you afloat, whether it’s a video game, a TV show, standup comedy, anime, a book series, your favorite YouTube channel, one song on loop for eight entire days, whatever it is. Just find something to climb into for a few hours and protect your peace, build up your reserves, for as long as you can.

I feel like I haven’t done much in 2024 except hang on by my fingernails, and sometimes you gotta call that good.

Okay! Obviously, I love Wolf 359. The available scripts for Wolf 359 are recording scripts, meaning they're inaccurate in a ton of places when it comes to finalized or improvised dialogue, and don't function well as transcripts (especially since the scripts for the live show and some of the mini episodes were never made available.) That said, I think everyone should read the scripts; the sheer amount of physical description that you can feel in the show, even if you can't see it... I guarantee it will enhance your listening experience. Most visual show to ever be an audio drama. So, in pursuit of both of these goals at once, I went over every word in the scripts, and wrote up new scripts for the unavailable ones. Some of the sound effects described - especially in early episodes - might not line up exactly, because I didn't want to mess with the non-dialogue portion of the show, but I hope this strikes a good balance and can be a useful resource.

I don’t typically make ocs in already existing media cuz I’m not one to add characters to shows, but oh my god httyd dragons are just so drawable. I’ve had my girl Prosper for about 5 months now and I cannot describe how much I love her? This fictional lesbian reptile has my heart. (And her mate Hark, but I’ll make a separate post for her :) )

She’s 56 years old, had her right wing completely torn off in a massive battle (she’s left wing politically, ahaha get it left wing because she only has her left wing so-) with the parents of Viggo and Ryker Grimborn that sent the night/light furies into hiding. (Which is my personal hc on how there are ‘no night furies left’). She is the leader of this ‘hidden colony’ of furies, and is basically just the wise, lonely grandmother to them all. She’s also just extremely sad in general. She in in constant pain and can’t fly. I mean I’d be sad too.

She’s also like extremely very heavily against humans, so in my delusional little brain when Hiccup and Toothless somehow stumble upon the hidden colony that’s in a cave (think Minecraft lush cave) she isn’t a very big fan of them funnily enough. Although she does hesitate to immediately fire upon noticing Toothless’ prosthetic tailfin, mainly cuz she’s like “yo tf what yo tail red for? Who is this red tailed child?”

I could ramble for hours about her swckjhisuchuweichiew and she ends up getting a prosthetic wing ‼️

bowser's fury is a very intense game, i can't imagine mario is keeping a level head 100% of the time. knowing you could actually die with little warning at any given moment gets to you, who would have guessed! good thing junior is there to be right about everything all the time
