I'm not going to lie I had to cut out so many of my favs because of the Yin Iron plot BUT I still think I put together a stellar list.

But he realized had never managed to truly enrage Lan Wangji with anything he had said until this moment. - - - - The Lan sect has been putting pressure on Lan Wangji to find a cultivation partner. They don't like the one he chooses.

NOTES: Baby WY has a journey to discover his self worth in this fic. The canon divergence happens after he's kicked out of cloud recesses and the subsequently kicked out of the Jiang sect via Madam Yu. There is a rogue cultivator WY plotline paired with Sect pressure for Lan Zhan to get a cultivation partner and the stubborn man vs oblivious man 230k is fantastic.

Chapters: 42/42 Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Alternate Universe - Daemons, Slow Burn, Hurt/Comfort, Angst with a Happy Ending, Canonical Character Death, Some people live!, And some people still die in this fic it's just a matter of who STAYS dead and who is really dead ;), additional warnings in specific chapters, if you don't know what daemons are that's ok because I explain it in the author's note, also by slow burn I VERY much mean slow burn Summary: Wei Wuxian is staring up at the sky, thinking idly about the taste of Emperor’s Smile on his tongue, when Suibian jumps full force onto his stomach and cries, “A-Xian, don’t be mad!” The sheer force of her pounce knocks the breath out of him. The resulting pause is just long enough for Jiang Cheng, who up to this point has been laying rather peacefully next to him, to shoot up and demand, “Oh great, what did you do now?” To be fair, the question isn’t exactly unwarranted. Suibian looks an absolute mess: twigs stuck in her fur, dirt smeared across the white fluff of her underbelly. She’s panting up a storm, little heh heh heh gasps that haven’t edged into her normal high-pitched laughter. When her ears press back against her head, she could almost pass for pitiful. “Bichen hates me.” Wei Wuxian’s first thought is Why would Lan Zhan’s daemon hate you?, but it’s followed quickly by remembering exactly where he is, how little trouble he’s caused today, and the fact that he hasn’t seen Suibian for a few minutes. A grin spreads across his face. (Or: The most important name a cultivator will ever pick isn’t for their sword. It’s for their daemon.)

NOTES: This is still ancient china cultivators but has a little bit of au due to cultivators having daemons. It loosely follows the book plotline as well but is canon divergent. I honestly did not expect to love this 600k fic so much but it had my HEART. I fell for the plot as well as the sentient daemons and the role they play in helping these two sort out their feelings.

NOTES: A solid fix-it from Qiongi Path. WY dies and wakes up mid battle with enough time to save Zixuan. This changes the timeline for the best but at the expense of their established relationship in the alternate timeline. A little bit of mourning there, but still a happy ending though!

NOTES: The story of what happens the war if no one knew that Wei Ying survived AND won the war for them. This has such a beautiful relationship between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying and features a jailbreak of (alive!) Madam Lan. It's healing and wonderful, but also expect the angst. Fear not though, it has a happy ending! BONUS: it does have a prequel which is part 1 in the series. Also very good but Lan Wangji POV and Wei Wuxian is presumed dead.

By the time people realised that all the homeless children of Yiling, and all the daughters about to be sold had disappeared, it became, “If you’re unloved the Yiling Patriarch will save you.” Sometimes when you make a vow not even death can release you; as Xian-Gege the Eliminator of Evil, the Protector of the Weak, and the Saviour of Children finds out.

NOTES: A fun God!WWX fic in which the vow that WY made and the belief in the Yilling Patriarch brings him back. Such a solid fic, I love the way that WY goes from hated demon to loving deity of children, women, and those in need. He does die in this and is mostly dead for a good portion of it but it is worth it for the reunion and wholesome hoard of children he collects.

As a physician, Wen Qing has to suffer fools constantly; if Lan WangJi is determined to be Wei WuXian’s baby daddy, she wasn’t going to stop him, especially if it could save them all. And if it leads to some misunderstandings on the topic of marriage and propagation—well, it is not Wen Qing’s fault if Lan WangJi became the world’s best and worst matchmaker, making sure that children everywhere had parents.

NOTES: This fic premise is absolute crack! and is one of my favourite niche crack! fic themes. In which the joke "I birthed him myself" is taken literally and the cultivation world truly believes the Yilling Patriarch and Hanguang-jun had a child together. So good, bless Wen Qing in this fic honestly.

The respectful, sensible Wen Zhuliu, who knows how to work the room… In which Wei Wuxian loses his hand (he gets one better), Lotus Pier is saved, the Lan Clan is said to be dead to the last man, there's a horrible banquet in Nightless City, someone accidentally plays Sleeping Beauty, and there's that awkward moment when you realize Meng Yao is the sane one (except not really). It's a dark, dark night, but the sun will rise eventually.

NOTES: This is one of my favourite BAMF WWX fics. It is VERY dark, and Lan Zhan is not okay in the majority of this fic but my goodness is it fantastic. WWX does get his hand cut off and then proceeds to be tossed into the burial mounds but his new hand and demonic cultivation are so rad. Worth it for the pain!

He knew who was, though.   (Or: Wei Wuxian uses a powerful array to go back in time and builds a secret squad to prevent the misfortunes of the future.)

NOTES: Another fantastic time-travel fix it in which WWX post the tragic loss of his husband and son builds an array to go back. In it he befriends and recruits the antagonists of the main timeline and fixes things. This was so good- especially if you like morally grey characters and want a bit of Meng Yao and Xue Yang redemption.

NOTES: This is a transmigration fic with a morally grey Lan Zhan. After losing WY he decides not to ascend and instead uses an array for another timeline. I will say head the warnings, Lan Zhan's father is vile and there is child abuse here so pleas ehead the tags it is very awful, it does have a happy ending though. Bonus for Wei Wuxians parents being alive!

He finds a ruined settlement and a feverish child. Then Lan Wangji turns up, half dead himself, and Jiang Cheng is not prepared for any of this. He takes them both back to Lotus Pier, because he's not leaving anyone to die on his watch, and they both need medical care. Then they just end up…staying. At least Lan Wangji is as unimpressed with the situation as Jiang Cheng is. (Jiang Cheng and Lan Zhan accidentally become co-parents and have to deal with the repercussions)

NOTES: This is the Jiang Cheng & Lan Zhan platonic coparenting fic I didn't know I needed. It was so healing and while WWX is dead for a good chunk of this he does come back. This is a fantastic fic if you want some hurt/comfort, mourning, and healing energy. I will warn it does have a lot of hurt and the Lans come under scrutiny (justifiably). But happy ending!

Both his arm and his back were still bleeding and he felt as if he had been flayed. “Should I make it quick?” Wen Zhuliu asked him, offering a small mercy. But Wei Wuxian shook his head. “Give me your worst,” he snarled, his teeth coated in blood from where he had bitten his tongue at some point. “I will come back to end you all,” he promised darkly. “Very well,” Wen Zhuliu merely said and drowned him. Or: Yu Ziyuan cuts off Wei Wuxian's hand to appease the Wens. He gets drowned in the lake behind Lotus Pier and resentful energy transforms him into a river spirit. After avenging his own death, he finds his way to Yiling.

NOTES: Very cool fic in which WY dies by Wen Zhuliu's hand and becomes a creature of resentment. He turns into a very cool undead water spirit with incredible power. He saves the wens, has a child, and gets the boy in the end. This story is for the monsterfuckers but don't let it fool you, it is kind of tragic. I swear there is a happy ending but the pain is rough.

NOTES: Not going to lie this was a really cool casefic. The husbands go on a journey to the desert and solve a mystery. The coolest part was the difference in cultivation and belief systems outside of the sects territories. This is a healing fic- fantastic vibes.

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying meet during a night hunt and then keep making excused to hunt together. Such a beautiful and wholesome slowburn with lots of the Wei family teasing. A healing fic for sure.

My summary/notes: Having Kaz turn into a grisha is such an intruiging concept and I ate it up, at the same time its tragic because of the way being a tidemaker effects him and triggers his trauma. It will get real intense so be prepared. The villain in this fic is so interesting. An unexpected intersting part of this fic was reading the crows be a team without having Kaz as their leader sometimes. I love Inej in this fic so much. BAMF's Inej and Anika. Inej and Kaz have some cute moments. The ending eeee. My quick summary is the barrel goes to shit when a plague enters.

What is this Lockwood co about?

Deciding if I should watch it or not?

Lockwood & Co. is based on a series of middle-grade novels by Jonathan Stroud, which were published in the mid-2010s. It has now been adapted into a show by Netflix! It's main premise that an alternate-Britain is having persistent hauntings and ghost visitations, which are (in a very appropriately British fashion) referred to as The Problem and visitors. In order to deal with these persistent and potentially deadly hauntings, there are agencies of young, psychically gifted children (since only children or teens can hear/see/sense ghosts), run by adult supervisors, who seek out the most difficult and dangerous of the hauntings, deal with the ghosts, and destroy them.

Our main characters are:

Lucy Carlyle, whose main Talent is Listening, hearing psychic echoes of ghosts and their hauntings (played by Ruby Stokes). I affectionately refer to Lucy as "Jyn Erso and Tiffany Aching" coded, since she is a mid-sized beacon of rage, compassion and utter determination as she leaves her small village in the Northern England after a tragic case gone wrong, to travel to London and join a ghost-hunting agency. she meets:

George Karim (Cubbins in the books, played by Ali Hadji-Heshmati), a brilliant, irascible ghost researcher, who is Not Getting Paid Enough™️ to deal with This Nonsense™️. my most beloved son, who is The Only Sane Person in the room at any given time (he 100% isn't.) he runs the agency along with:

Anthony Lockwood (played by Cameron Chapman), the founder and leader of Lockwood & Co, an independent agency (i.e., not run by adults), a dazzlingly charismatic young man, who is hiding lots of secrets behind his charming smiles. potentially a few death wishes?? He needs help, basically, someone help him

These three kids hunt and bust murderous ghosts, deal with long-suffering Agent Montagu Barnes, who just wants them to stop trying to die, looking at you Anthony Lockwood. and trying to figure out the Problem--who started it? what's causing it? why is it not getting better and only getting worse?

The overall aesthetic of the show is mid-80s-90s British alt-grunge/punk, and it's been near-universally acclaimed by viewers and critics, called the one of the best adaptions ever, which is a huge forking deal. I started watching it in mid-February on a whim, and the moment I saw our two main leads walking down an early evening street in modern clothes with swords on their hips, I thought, "oh yes...THAT'S the stuff."

the young actors are absolutely fantastic in their roles (the found family of it all!), the production design is wonderfully solid, and the world-building unique and original, while still pulling some absolutely solid chills and scares! I am a big horror wimp, so it's just about perfect for me. the slow burn/attraction between Lucy and Lockwood is fabulous; the moment he referred to her as "their biggest asset," my Kanej shipper self sat up straight on my bed and yelled "IS SHE AN INVESTMENT???" at the top of my lungs. same ship, different font is what I'm saying!!

all of this to say! if you haven't watched it, you absolutely should, as we impatiently wait for Netflix (scourge of our time) to announce if we're getting a season 2, and if we don't, then we HAUNT.

Friendly Four Redesing

Hey guys! Everything is fine? I hope so! Well, today I wanted to share some of my ideas about the Darkwing Duck universe, some universe concepts I made with my dear friend @anniesilveratl2room and also show my version of the amazing (and extremely underexplored...TnT) Negaverse. Don't get me wrong, I love the episode that this alternate reality is presented in and I love the concept, but... I don't know.. That dimension is kind of vague to me. The fact that their opposites are realities is an amazing idea, so much so that I love the concept of Scourge and Moebius from the Sonic comics (Ian Flynn, I love you for making this idea better explored), but my friend and I wanted to work with something different. Here, in OUR version of the Negaverse, it will not be a reality of "opposites", here it will be a "mirror" reality. I know that many people will say that it is "the same thing", but not in our conception. Personality doesn't change here, MORALS and CHOICES change!

That is, a different choice that the characters made would drastically change an event or something else important. Another note: Annie and I considered what we were shown in the 2017 Ducktales and also OUR alternate universe, so in addition to being different from the original series, it will also have necessary changes. That said... Now it's time to show off the designers I made for our universe's Friendly, all credit for redesigning the Fearsome Four from the original reality goes to my friend Annie (praise her please!).

Let's start in order and the first one I want to show you is Nega Bushroot.

This, in fact, was one of the things I most procrastinated to do with Liquidator, not because it was difficult, but because it was VERY SIMPLE! I wanted something in the design that would set him apart from the original but still resemble him, but just changing his hair color wasn't enough for me. So I wanted to give him a more "aggressive" look, with the hair here being more spiky instead of the fluffy one in the original, I put vines with thorns on his arms (which I will LOVE to explain their concept later on) and... I gave him a scarf for his neck because I wanted an extra change (this one I was in doubt about wearing because Nega Dator already had one, but I put one with a different style).

Next member of the Friendly Four: Megavolt. This is one of the ones that I liked playing with the concept the most and you should already know that it was the inspiration... Static Shocker! I just LOVE this drawing, seriously! But then again... I wanted to do something new but leave the essence of the original, so I left details like the battery on the back, the color palette but being inverted and also the electricity theme. This is one of the ones I liked the most and found it fun to do.

Now Quackerjack and, man... This one was difficult to make the costume, again following the concept and such... But the most difficult thing was the details of the costume, I wanted to still give the clown look, but keeping the color palette, so I researched clown clothes on the internet and went by instinct. Maybe I overdid the elements, but I liked the end result.

And lastly (and my favorite Fearsome/Friendly), Liquidator! This one was actually the easiest... But still I procrastinated just because of the painting. Because drawing water is boring and annoying! But in terms of "outfit" design it was simple, I gave him a scarf and gave him bands on his hands (again one that I really want to show how it would look when he changes hands on any weapon). I wanted to give him an aspect of a fighter and give that air of a relaxed person, because I saw a lot of people who would consider the Nega Liquidator version to be "fearful" or someone more "passive", but I prefer to believe that he would not be like that, but that he would be just someone sentimental and who is someone who protects his family both emotionally and physically, but that's a story for another day.

How old is Sweetpea compared to Possum? Because I really don't remember if you told us what it is.

Also, that early concept Puddlepaw is so interesting to me. Could you tell us a little more about that?

HELLO sorry I forgot this was in my inbox </3 I would say they're pretty close in age! Maybe a few months gap between them, with Possum being a smidge older??

And early Puddlepaw's concept was VERY much unfinished, basically I wanted to make an animatic with the song Skin and Bone and just. inserted them into it with a backstory that would fit. In the Early Days of the mudpaw story development, the apprentices were all in one of the canon clans (I think I was doing shadowclan??), but like an alternate universe? the book events weren't making an appearance but bloodclan was there so idk lol.

so Puddlepaw's story would have been that they were a bloodclan kit that went to join the clans when they were very young (maybe they're were forcibly adopted?? like a clan cat found them on the edge of the territory and was like 'who is this small malnourished child' and took them home with them) and they saw that life was much better under clan law and in the forest territory. So once they grew older, they went back to their old bloodclan friends/family to try to convince them to either make a pact with shadowclan or to join up with them or something idk. I think it was supposed to be post-scourge bloodclan?? like I said it was very much an unfinished idea. but anyway, puddle basically tries to convince the bloodclan leaders/elders to give the clans a shot. And that would have been the events of the hypothetical Skin and Bone PMV!

The story didn't have any tie-in with mudpaw's plot line, and obviously no longer works with the direction that the main story ended up taking, so it was scrapped. the Skin and Bone version of Puddlepaw was a lot more idealistic than the current canon version of Puddlepaw, who is much more pragmatic!

“Friends don’t let their friends die of heatstroke and dehydration,” Ranboo said very matter of factly.

Tommy couldn’t help the bitter laugh that cut through him at that. He said that as if most of Tommy’s friends hadn’t tried or almost succeeded in killing him in the past. He said it like betrayal wasn’t an integral part of interpersonal relationships in Tommy’s life.

“That wasn’t supposed to be funny,” Ranboo said, looking incredibly disturbed as Tommy tried to suppress another chuckle.

“It's not. But life’s more complicated than that.”

Are the ArchieSonic comics actually an 80's/90's syndicated cartoon? Episode 31: Time travel to the distant future year of 2000 (part two)

Welcome back to my look at the ArchieSonic comic series, and how it shared a lot of the same story tropes as a typical ‘80s or ‘90s syndicated cartoon! Today I’m continuing my look at time travel stories by following Silver the Hedgehog’s movements across time throughout the series.

Silver made his first appearance at the end of Sonic #194, travelling to Sonic’s time 200 years in Silver’s past to try and eliminate a “traitor” who had supposedly betrayed the Freedom Fighters.

At first he thought this was Sonic, but after fighting alongside him against Scourge, Silver decided he may have false information and went back to the future to do more research. 

…heh. “Back to the future.” See what I did there?

He next showed up in Sonic Universe #5, coming to the aid of King Sonic and his family in an alternate reality set 30 years in Sonic’s future.

Silver managed to stop an assassination plot against Sonic instigated by the Dark Presence’s vengeful leader, Lien-Da.

But not long after his heroic moment, Silver was knocked out by an undercover agent posing as Sonic’s staff and spent most of the rest of that arc unconscious. 😛

However he did wake up in time to help out King Sonic and his new team of Freedom Fighters in the fight against Tikhaos, an unstable fusion of Tikal and Perfect Chaos that had flooded the world in Silver’s time. 

Our first actual look at Silver’s future didn’t come until Sonic #215, when we saw him continuing his investigation to find the supposed traitor in the Freedom Fighters. While the world was no longer flooded it was still in ruins, and Angel Island was now partially submerged and renamed Onyx Island (as seen in Sonic Rivals). Silver decided to try and fix everything by going after Rotor this time, believing him to be a traitor just because his friends used to call him “Boomer.” 

Look, I don’t like boomers either. But if you think that killing them will save the future then…

…actually, you might be onto something. :P

When that lead didn’t pan out and Silver returned to his own time we were introduced to his two mentors.

The first one was the echidna Edmund, the last Guardian of Onyx Island. While it was never officially confirmed, it was strongly hinted at that Edmund was the grandson of Knuckles and Julie-Su, and son of their daughter Lara-Su and Vector’s son Argyle.

The second mentor turned out to be even more surprising - a supposedly reformed Mammoth Mogul, trying to atone for the role his inaction played in the world’s ruination. 

Silver’s next trip to the past (but from our point of view, still Sonic’s future) was in Sonic Universe #25. It ended up being another journey to an alternate reality where Knuckles had gone mad with power and become Enerjak again, wiping out almost the entire population of the planet. Silver teamed up with the local resistance against him, led by Lara-Su (calling herself Jani-Ca these days).

While Silver initially struggled going one on one with Enerjak, he eventually thought of his mentors’ teachings and managed to defeat Enerjak by turning his own power against him.

It’s worth mentioning that we first saw this version of Lara-Su back in Sonic #106, where she had also travelled back in time to try and prevent her dark timeline from occurring.

Much like Silver she had had bad information on what had happened, believing that Knuckles had been assassinated by Constable Remington when he had actually been trying to prevent an assassination.

She returned to her own timeline where her mother admitted the truth to her that Knuckles hadn’t been murdered at all but was actually the one who was taking over the world.

Silver returned to his mission of taking down the traitor in Sonic #235, when he uncovered “evidence” that Antoine was the one that had destroyed the Freedom Fighters. Mammoth Mogul gave him permission to return to the past to investigate, but getting tired of all of Silver’s previous incorrect accusations, told him that this time if he went he would have to remain in the past until he finally had gotten this right. Silver agreed and was sent back to Sonic’s time, where he immediately went to Sonic with his accusations.

…Sonic, quite understandably, did not take this well. He did however acknowledge that Silver had been right about one thing - with all the recent losses the team had taken, the Freedom Fighters were effectively finished. Silver was disheartened that he’d been wrong again, but was given new hope when he was approached by Harvey Who, the former head of King Max’s Secret Intelligence Division.

Having been pulled out of retirement by the deposed King Elias, Harvey offered to help Silver with his mission in return for him joining his Secret Freedom Fighter team.

Silver accepted and joined the effort to undermine the newly crowned King Naugus while Harvey Who investigated the supposed traitor among the Freedom Fighters.

With Harvey’s help Silver finally discovered the truth - the Freedom Fighter who had caused his bleak future was none other than Sally Acorn.

She had saved the world in Sonic #230 when she had destroyed Robotnik’s world roboticiser, but in doing so she had created a different apocalypse when the beam was inverted on her and turned her into the murderous robot Mecha Sally. This would ultimately lead to her destroying the Freedom Fighters and Eggman being able to take over the world without Sonic to stop him.

Silver was able to change the future at the last second by preventing Mecha Sally from killing Sonic, Tails and Amy… but we never got to find out what happened after that because Eggman activated the Super Genesis Wave and the world was reset for the comic’s reboot.

Post-reboot, Silver changed his mission from travelling through time to travelling through various alternate dimensions, closing the Genesis portals that had started popping up as a result of Eggman wreaking havoc on reality.

We did however get to see Silver’s new present time in The Silver Age arc in Sonic Universe #79 - 82. Onyx Island was now a dystopian empire ruled by the Onyx City Council. Silver teamed up with a telepathic tenrec named Gold and Professor Von Schlemmer (better known from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) to try to stop the Council from experimenting on the Genesis Portals and unleashing a monster called the Second Devourer on the world.

When Noctis is three years old, Regis takes ill. The doctor tells her that he will recover, that all will be well.

It isn't.

Aulea Lucis Caelum is left to raise a son on her own, knowing that a Kingdom depends on her strength and will to survive.

She will not lose him, too.

When Noctis is three years old, Regis takes ill. The Citadel Physician says it is simply stress that makes him cough, that he will recover with rest and time and plenty of love from his family.

Aulea wants to fire the man for lying to her.

Regis does not get better. He gets worse, the cough becoming a hack that steals all his energy, that keeps him contained to bed. Aulea, deep brown hair just beginning to streak through with gray, sends for doctor after doctor. They come from as far as Accordo, but none can find the cause.

None can find a cure.

She writes to Queen Sylva of Tenebrae, begs not as Queen to Queen but Wife to Widow, please help me, and though Sylva's reply is full of her own love and sympathy and desire to help, there is nothing she can do. If it is not the Scourge--and none of the worsening symptoms Aulea has described in detail speak of the Scourge--then there is nothing she can do. Tenebrae remains a staunch ally to Lucis, and Aulea gains a true friend.

This does not prepare her for losing her husband.

One hot summer night, the desert heat of Leide all around them, Aulea sees a trail of golden light in the air above Regis' bed, which she sits beside with Noctis sleeping in her arms. She looks up, and her eyes well with tears.

Etro's gate hovers, wavering like a desert mirage, above her coughing husband.

He is not long for this world. She has not long to say goodbye.

She stands, and across the room, Cor Leonis walks to her.

"Your Majesty--" He doesn't have the time to finish as she presses Noctis to his chest. His arms come up automatically; Cor has helped change Noctis' diapers, kept him from trouble. She can see no better man to watch her son in this trying time. Still, she thinks, he deserves the truth.

"Regis," She whispers, "is passing. Please, take Noctis away from here."

Cor, barely into his manhood and yet stronger than even he realizes, stares for a moment as if she just told him the sun is going to disappear. But then he draws a breath, and though his eyes are welling with tears, his lower lip trembling, his grip is firm and he salutes her with a hand across his chest, across Noctis' back.

Then he strides from the room, quietly pulling the door shut behind him.

Aulea lets out a shaky breath and returns to Regis' side. With skirts rustling, she pulls herself up onto his bed, ignoring the scent of sick and the way his breath rattles in his chest.

"'Lea?" He whispers, skin cold as he turns his head against hers. She pulls the blankets up a little higher.

"I'm here." She tells him, not telling him about the gate that strengthens with every passing moment. He knows of her talent, her curse to see passing souls as they make the journey from the living to the dead.

He likely knows this is his time, but his body is failing him. He has no strength left to speak, but there is nothing he could say that she doesn't already know. She lays beside her husband, holding his hand as tightly as she can. His returning squeeze is faint, barely there. She lays her head beside his.

"It's alright, my love," She tells him in a voice that wavers but does not break, "If you need to...you can go."

His eyes open slowly, gray-blue that has passed to their son. She meets his gaze, smiles, and knows that he knows she loves him. It is enough.

It will never be enough.

"I will...await you," He whispers, eyes fluttering closed. "In the Beyond."

His grip on her hand goes slack. Aulea turns her head, hides her face in his neck, and cries. For a few minutes, she is not the Queen of Lucis, nor is she Noctis' mother. She is Regis' love, his partner, his confidant.

His widow.

She allows herself to mourn, great heaving sobs that only the walls will hear as she clings to the blankets, his silken sleepwear, and refuses to let go. Her breath comes in pants, her heart a broken thing 'neath her breast that beats even when she doesn't want it to, because how is she supposed to live without him? How is she supposed to run a kingdom and raise a child without him? She has none of his powers, none of his talents. She can run a house, can sew a dress in a day, can fight as well as Cyril Scientia with a lance and the Elemancy Regis had taught her to use, but a kingdom? As a single parent?

Gods. She can't do this.

She has to do this.

For what feels like forever, she does not move. She sobs and holds on, refuses to let go, only then...she does. With a decidedly un-ladylike sniff, she pulls back. Straightens out the soaked shoulder of his top and pulls the blanket up. She reaches out, putting a hand to his still warm cheek. His beard rasps against her palm; were it not for his stillness, he could be merely sleeping.

She knows he is not.

Eyes welling with tears once more, Aulea bends forward and presses a kiss to her beloved's forehead.

"My heart will be with you," She repeats from their vows, "Until even the Beyond is no more."

Then with a strength she did not know she still had, Aulea Lucis Caelum stands from her husband's death bed, straightens her skirts, and walks tall from the room.

Three days later, though all are dressed in mourning black, Insomnia rings with a single cheer:

Long Live The Queen.

Hm. Funny, cause askarealscourge was asked the same question. Take it as you’re the same person. Also, who is this directed to? Cause I can’t tell you if you don’t specify which character that you’re talking about.

If you’re asking about all of them- They make almost the same noises a lion or wolf would make. They growl, howl, roar, etc.

If you’re talking about a specific character, then you need to 1) Address them. I don’t know who you want to answer the ask if you don’t ask them/specify. 2) Ask over on my AU ask blog, @ask-the-scourge-family. This kind of question would be much more fitted over there.

In the uncle scourge au I wonder what scourge reaction to shadow will be like?

What a fun question and thank you for waiting so long for me to answer it. Tbh Uncle doesn't really care about any of the other Movie verse kiddos except Wachowski. He isn't surprised that they exist its more a matter of when and not if they will show up.

He doesn't like their alternate universe counterparts at all so he isn't particularly drawn to them. At least as first when it comes to Tails, cause due to Tails hanging around Wachowski so much they kinda come to like each other. Knuckles I still haven't solidified his standing in the story but I think he would arrive much in the same way as his canon counterpart, Uncle likely being gone for the events of the second movie or coming in at the end of the movie. ((I really like the idea in the au that Uncle is lowkey adopted by Maddie's side of the family and he would actually have been invited to the wedding over Tom i.e. The wedding invitation would have had Scourge and Maddie listed before Tom's name, and he is getting wasted and partying with Maddie's family for much of the movie)). Scourge has a really bad history with his/Buck's Knuckles. He got his scars in a fight with Knuckles when he tried supercharging (almost going hyper) using Knuckles Master Emerald and Knuckles broke the emerald causing it to explode into Scourge, corrupting Scourge's chaos and turning him green. Their personalities don't mesh.

An important follow up question is what would Shadow think of Scourge? I don't think he'd give 2 shits about Scourge. That's just the old guy that hangs around Sonic. For as much as Scourge wouldn't pay mind to Shadow, Shadow would give even less thought into Scourge unless Scourge was getting in his way.

Elucien Week Day 5 - AU

@elucienweek2022​ since this story is already an alternate universe, I thought to mix things up a little more.

Plot: Elain tries to save Lucien and the Spring Court

Elain knew she wouldn’t last long in the new house anyway, but learning of Clare pushed her enough to make the final step to go back beyond the Wall. She found the mansion abandoned, except for Ailis, who explained her everything she needed to know, from why they hadn’t told her about Amarantha to why Tamlin hadn’t been able to fall in love with her, and how terrible it was for everyone to see his best friend care so deeply. Elain was silent the whole time, determined to hold back objections and ask all the questions at the end of the story, but when Ailis finished the grim account of the events leading to the capture of nearly all of the Court, she realized there was nothing more to add.

“Take me to her,” she ordered, resolute as a High Fae.

“But  you don’t love him. Even if there was still some time left, she would know Tamlin isn’t the one in your heart,” objected the maid, but Elain already had a plan, even if it involved the entertainment of the most sadistic creature she ever heard of. A nightmarish monster brought her before the Queen, its bat ears moving to perceive everything around them and its long, bony fingers wrapped tightly around her shoulder. The scourge of Prythian san on a black throne, beautiful but not like the goddess of darkness she pictured, yet even more terrifying. Her red hair were neatly braided around the golden crown, and although her ebony eyes sparkled, there was something dulling her cold charm, probably her arrogance, or her croaking laughter, similar to a crow. Ailis warned her against making pacts with such beasts for the whole trip to that corrupt place, even when her life depended on them, but what if it was a whole Court’s life? When the High Fae proposed an exchange smelling of death and putrefaction, tasting like blood and bile, she accepted, and she was thrown in a cell, her nose so broken she couldn’t breathe properly and her eyes swollen from the blows received. Such a fragile body couldn’t bear all that suffering, yet there she was, waiting for the peace a certain voice would bring her. Lucien took her in his arms at the first chance, and Elain tried to hold back the tears.

“You had to stay with your family, you had to live a long, happy life...” he murmured, full of regret, but Elain had no time to waste on ifs and buts, she needed to tell him how she felt, to make sure he knew she loved him as unconditionally and deeply as Jesminda once did and she was as ready to sacrifice herself for this love as she was.

“I know I should’ve told it to someone else,” she murmured, trying not to pay attention to the pain radiating from the split lip and the broken jaw. “But even if I wanted to, even if I knew, I couldn’t have...”

Before she could go on, Lucien cut her off.

“I need to believe you’ll have enough time to tell me everything, to recall how you found us and even to introduce me to your sisters, but now I need to take care of your wounds. I hope you didn’t care too much about the shape of your nose,” he replied, and a stream of magic swept over her with its usual ferrous smell, strong enough to make her squirm in pain.

“I’m almost done,” he reassured her, gently stroking the swelling keeping her from opening her eyes. It was pleasant to see the details of his face again, without the filter of blood and tears, and even though she now knew how he had gotten the terrible wound disfiguring his face, she still wished she could touch it. Maybe he would’ve let her do it, it she had survived.

“I though she stole most of your powers,” Elain whispered, trying to sit up to better observe the small light jumping over his shoulder.

“She did, but she gave some back to convince Tamlin to give up,” he replied in a worn-out voice, but he seemed happy to be able to use even a glimpse of what once belonged to him by right.

“What if Tamlin...” Elain started, but again she was interrupted, this time by a sound only Lucien’s Fae ears perceived.

“I have to go, but you have to make a promise,” he mumbled, deadly serious. Elain only managed to nod.

“Don’t die,” he concluded, but it was for himself he should’ve worried more. When Amarantha visited her to ask for her name, she was accompanied by Tamlin, the guy she saw at the villa, and whom she once met at Calanmai, the monster who carried her to the throne room and Lucien, dragged by the collar of his green tunic. The High Fae squirmed, but could do nothing against the razor-sharp nails and he was forced to kneel, sweat glistening on his neck.

“What’s the girl’s name, emissary?” Amarantha asked, but he just glanced one last time at Elain, then closed his eyes and squared his shoulders. Rhysand gave a small smile, and the girl shivered at the memory of his invisible claws gripping her mind. There was history between them: the night they met by the fires, he saved her from the Fae who were trying to drag her into the thicket to rape and kill her, but he seemed disappointed when she turned around, as if he expected something different from her face; then, their paths crossed again in the villa’s dining room, where he revealed her, even if it wasn’t his place to do it, she and Lucien were linked by something that shouldn’t have existed between mortals and Fae. Even in the tense moment, though, his intentions weren’t just to scare her, for he was searching for something about her past, about her family, just a scene but enough to probably use it against her. Elain never knew why she choose to give away that specific imagine, but the night sky Feyre painted on her wardrobe’s door hit him right where she needed to throw him out of her mind. That was the torture Lucien was enduring to protect her, but when she heard him moan like a wounded animal, she gave in, and revealed to the hateful woman her name was Elain.

"Elain," the Queen repeated, savouring each letter. “Doesn’t it come from an old Spring Court dialect? See Tamlin, if only you had put a little more effort, you wouldn’t have been forced to see your freedom taken away by a servant.”

The blond-haired High Lord, the one who deceived her, sure, but also housed her and protected her family in every possible way, even when it was evident she would never love him, she would never be handy, showed no sign of understanding, or of being interested in the matter.

“Well, Elain,” continued Amarantha, “if I remember correctly, a few days ago I promised you a loophole. I chose a riddle, Fae love to work their ways with words.”

There are those who seek me a lifetime but never we meet,

And those I kiss but who trample me beneath ungrateful feet.

At times I seem to favour the clever and the fair,

But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare.

By large, my ministrations are soft-handed and sweet,

But scorned, I become a difficult beast to defeat.

Those are the words she recited, and if only Elain studied more, if only she had more than one chance, maybe she would’ve replied, but not today, not when Lucien, still on the ground shaking, attracted all her attention. In the following day, she engraved the verses on the cell wall, aided by desperation and loneliness, and perhaps the strength she had to apply to transcribe each letter led her to obsess a little too much, convincing her she was close to the answer. Though she hoped so, Lucien never visited her, but she was pleased to find out, when a couple of guards dragged her back to the black throne, that he was fine, or at least physically whole, unlike Clare Beddor, whose body still rotted in front of Amarantha’s seat.

“Before we start I must ask you, have you solved my riddle?” inquired the High Fae, a cruel smile on her pale face, a cut on the darkness of her soul. It was amazing to think that she might once have loved her sister as Elain loved hers.

“I’m working on it,” she hissed. “Can you confirm I can give you the answer at any time?”

“Any time, and if it’s right, you, your Lucien and the entire Spring Court will be free to leave immediately with my blessing, but if you’re wrong, you can imagine what a nuisance the consequences will be,” the female replied, squeezing harder Tamlin’s knee. Who knows what it was costing him to sit by her side when he wanted to kill her so badly. Anyway, she had little time for pity, as the first task was set in a maze of mud and bones, the lair of a beast resembling a giant earthworm, with three rows of sharp teeth in the front of its slimy body. It was probably supposed to be a joke, something about her love for plants, destroyed by such creatures, but the sadistic Fae irony came in handy, and before anyone could even start having fun, she found a large thighbone, probably belonging to a moose, and held it like a spear. Everyone with a garden knew earthworm’s small brain was just above their head, where the eyes should’ve been, but she knew it, and if she was wrong, it would’ve been her death and probably also Lucien’s. At the last second, when the worm was nearly on her, she used a wall harder than the others as a support, and leveraging on it she hoisted herself on the slippery back of the beast. She never dreamed, even in her worst nightmares, of riding a giant earthworm, and although her ribs hurt like mad after the sudden fall at the start, she forced herself to hold on tight and stab the beast with all her might. Her crushing victory didn’t seem to demoralize Amarantha, who instead told her only one of her subjects better on her, but openly took the name for herself. In the following days, Elain continued to wonder who her secret ally was, and when she was convinced it didn’t exist, and that hateful woman was only mocking her, she caught a glimpse of growing, unnatural darkness with penetrating violent eyes.

“What a miserable condition the heroin of the day is in,” he mocked her. “Who knows if Lucien suspects his beloved is in worse shape than him.”

Elain’s eyes widened, and Rhysand knew he scored this point.

“You know, Amarantha doesn’t really like to part with her pets, but if her glory is also stolen, someone must pay. They beat him hard, but he’ll recover, although at the moment it’s you I want to talk about,” he proceeded, while Elain only wanted to beg him to stop, to shut up, to leave her alone to die, with the riddle on the wall and leftover of mouldy meals on the floor.

“You know, we could make a deal,” resumed the High Lord. “You tell me who painted that landscape, and I heal you in time for the next task, granting you abilities you never dreamed of.”

“What if I knew the answer to the riddle?” she asked, her voice reduced to a wheezing, hoarse with fever and thirst. She hadn't drank clean water in days.

“You would’ve already used it, and anyway it wouldn’t be enough: you’re dying, and whatever happens outside these walls, it will be too late to be reversible. I just need a clue, another fragment of your memories, and Amarantha will meet her end.”

“I agree, but on one condition,” she finally replied, pondering her options and realizing there was no other way. For a moment, she allowed herself to think about Feyre. She knew what was happening on the other side, and she and Nesta were prepared to flee at the slightest whisper of unrest, so she didn’t have to worry so much. Furthermore, Fae were fickle, and their infinite life made them a little unreliable when they had to consider certain human issues such as mortality.

“And what would it be?” Rhysand asked, bored.

“The information you want cannot be extracted by deception or force; I’ll have to give it to you deliberately, and only under promise that no harm will be done to the author of the painting,” Elain growled, trying to sit up.

“Shrewd human, I have to give you this clause too, because it seems funny. For two years you’ll be in my company, and if in that time I haven’t found out enough to find the artist, you’ll be free to leave and I won’t bear you any grudges,” he decided, with an amused smile. The High Lord of the Night Court sure resembled a cat, in attitude. Even when he was gone it was hard to think clearly, to imagine what would happen after she sold a piece of her soul, so she focused again on the riddle.

Luck certainly reflected both requirements, and at times it really seemed to favour the clever and the fair, but it wasn't true that it blessed those brave enough to dare, she just had to look at her father’s ships. Love, on the other hand, knew how to be soft-handed and sweet, but she was experiencing the difficult beast it could turn into if scorned and its powerful blow too.

"Guards!" she screamed, so loud she thought she moved the depths of the mountain. "Tell Queen Amarantha I know the answer to her riddle."

at first I was only gonna draw the Earth from Deltarune, but then I decided to do well more than just that.

also in my last post before this one, that has Tallest Purple kissing Steven (from Steven Universe Future)

I didn’t notice until now, that I accidentally put “worse” instead of “words”

when explaining those who saw it, will have to click on the drawing in order to see it better.....also after fixing that, I found something else I didn’t notice until I took a good look at it, that I accidentally put “Deltarue” instead of “Deltarune”

in the credits.....we all make mistakes, spelling mistakes do happen at times.

 I know I didn’t get some of the Alternate Earths 100% correct,

and yeah the “Mushroom” on the Earth that is suppose to be where the Mario Brothers, Peach, Bowser and the other characters live on, is a reference to Super Mario Odyssey, so that is where The Mushroom Kingdom is, on the land that looks like a Mushroom.

the Mobius Prime in this is suppose to be a fuse of both the old and new timelines together, Prime Zone 2.0. is suppose to be Fanon only...

I don’t believe Penders should have Scourge, I still believe that Scourge should be cleaved from Anti-Sonic, to become his own character....plus Penders isn’t the one who redesign him into Scourge in the first place, plus it be nice if Scourge did appear in IDW, he is given a different backstory and isn’t a Sonic anymore, he was naturally born as a Green Hedgehog with Blue Eyes.

Scourge The Hedgehog, should be seen as Patrick Spaziante’s son.

anyway back to the drawing...this drawing also has a Crossover-Earth,

where it’ suppose to be a Crossover Earth with Deltarune, Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss and Steven Universe.

one of the Earth’s belonging to Undertale, is the way it is because of the whole Humans Vs Monster War.  

and if both Undertale and Deltarune, shared a Earth with Steven Universe...

it might be the Undertale one, that will end up being in the timeline

who will fall victim to the bio-poison, and then after everything is over with, the planet would then be reformed into Crystal-Terra;formerly known as Earth.

I do have a theory that while the Monsters and Kris live in the Modern Times,

the Humans (not counting Kris) who are still in the “dark ages”

like yes in this Modern Times we live in now, there are still Kings and Queens.

but what if the Humans in Deltarune had Royal Family, and they even do a Hero Summoning thing, you know when people from a Fantasy World, Summons you without your consent to save them from a Demon Lord.

like if Susie showed one of the Head Of The Royal Knights a kitten video on a cellphone.

the said Knight, might yell out “what is this dark magic...?! why is that kitten trapped behind the glass, who would dare trap such a innocent feline with dark magic!”

 anything that is technology, would possibly be seen as “dark magic” to the Humans of Deltarune, and Kris was raised possibly since they were a baby, by a Monster Family.

when Queen mentions taking over the world, there are images of what looks to be a Planet, that we can assume is Deltarune’s Earth which I tried to draw in this, and then I decided to make a Crossover of the other Earths...

 I hope some Steven Universe Fans, like the idea if Pink actually completed her Gem Colony, it would end up having the Earth renamed Crystal-Terra.
