One got drowned by the inferis and got turned into an inferi himself.

And one got his soul kissed away by a dementor.

Those fuckers will never see afterlife. James and Lily are never gonna see their Reggie ever again. Sirius won't ever get to see and hug his baby brother who actually died betraying the dark lord.

Evan will be forever waiting for his lover to come... he will never show up.

Evan, Pandora and Dorcas will wait for their friends; the sadboi and the crackpot of the group to cross over.... Come to them... They will be forever waiting... Only to be met with disappointment

I'd kill for an au where it starts off as either Jegulus or Jily (could work with either) but whoever you chose dies a few years after marrying James. Of course he spends ages getting over them and trying to live on through the grief.

He finally meets someone new (whichever one you didn't pick before, if you said jily it's regulus if you said Jegulus it's Lily, ykwim?) and they fall for each other but he makes it very clear that he still loves and misses his previous spouse

The new partner is so understanding and kind and immediately decides they want to know everything about this partner, they look through old photos, they always buy flowers to visit their grave, they talk to their headstone, they says '___ would be so proud of you' ALL the time

And you just KNOW they're watching from the afterlife like 'DAMN Jamie caught a good one, I cannot wait to meet them'

Ofc when they meet in the afterlife they're best friends and completely inseparable and James is just so glad he was able to find the two most wonderful people ever

The first thing Regulus noticed was the smell of flowers. It smelled of springtime and reminded him of childhood trips to the French countryside. He ran his fingers through the soft blades of grass beneath him.

Regulus shifted closer as if to prove a point. "James, we both know I'm stubborn enough to make it happen," was his mumbled reply. James’ responding laugh warmed Regulus all over, but the kiss he pressed to his forehead a moment later incinerated him completely.

I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST MY 'BARTY WATCHING EVAN IN THE ARENA' CRIVERS THOUGHTS THAT HAVE BEEN SLOW-COOKING

okay hold on let me gather them up again

sooo something somethinggg...at first barty is just watching for regulus yk? cos that's his best friend and he wants to make sure he's okay, or at least if he dies he wants to see it happen to...i dunno...like bring closure? idk

anyway so he's watching and probably more worried for regulus than he'll admit and then the first five minutes in the arena, he watches reg run into (literally) this strange-looking blonde dude who was weirdly beautiful in a way that i know barty did not know what to do with

he probably recognised evan from the little snippets that had been televised of the training era, and at first i think he might have been kinda jealous and suspicious of him? like worried that evan was just using regulus

but then slowwwwwly he started to get more and more intrigued by him as he and reg continued their alliance. it definitely started when it became clear evan wasn't going to sell regulus out to the death eaters or kill him after they did all the stuff to get the weapons at the river

and then they split up and then they end up reuniting and yada yada and maybe barty started to become more and more fascinated by evan rosier. nodding in approval when he did something particularly cool. laughing when he said something funny. just little things

and eventually it might have even been accompanied with the thoughts of 'what if?' what if he had met evan rosier somewhere? would they have been friends?

i don't think barty even really realised how attatched to evan he had somehow become until the spear was in his gut. because why did it hurt so bad to watch him die?? clearly it was vicarious grief because regulus was so clearly hurting, right? but that wasn't it, was it?

i think in the end evan's death could have been very odd for barty. because he had never met this boy in his life, so why did he feel such a weirdly profound sense of loss when he died?

and i don't think it necessarily lasted long, the grief he felt over evan rosier's death, but it was definitely there. and i think that maybe, for a longggg time afterward, he would find himself thinking about a certain set of blue eyes and the boy who used to say no one ever thought to look up

Regulus and Sirius’ souls did go to the afterlife!!!!!!

When he went for the locket he drowned and then his CORPSE was REANIMATED. he downed first meaning he is soul went to the afterlife! The soul isn’t attached to his body once he died magic brought his corpse back to life not his soul, his soul had already passed on.

Like Hermione said, if ur body is destroyed ur soul is safe. Once the soul passes in there’s no getting it back. And that’s that.🤷🏾‍♀️

And for Sirius, the veil is a ONEWAY ticket TO death and therefor the afterlife!! His soul doesn’t get stuck in the veil or nothing. Yall remember when Harry and Luna hear voices in the veil? People that died? All of them didn’t fall in the veil, they are just reaching out thru the veil FROM the AFTERLIFE

and Sirius would be worried out of his goddamn mind about the fact that Harry was still in the middle of an active battle when he died like James and Sirius would have been sobbing and hugging each other but it would've been full of agony at first and James and Lily would be horrified at Sirius no longer being with Harry thanks

Now, Sirius and Regulus' reunion on the other hand would have been the funny one
