Observing Adam
Where I go way too deep into something that probably isn't that deep. It's long, it's long as hell.
Tumblr media
Okay, so you'd think with how Adam talks he's just a typical misogynist, right?
This man worships pussy. So much so, he's named a whole ass angel, one of his best, Vagina. You'd say that he objectifies them and thinks of them as being lesser, but I don't think that's the whole story. In fact, I think he might be the original simp.
All of these exorcists so far have been women. All of them. He refers to them as ladies or bitches interchangeably, he sees them as being completely capable of absolutely decimating leagues of some of the most vile beings who have ever existed, and they have, to the point it was only after thousands of years that there's been a risk to this hierarchy.
He's a self-centered, egotistical, loud-mouthed, arrogant asshole, no doubt about it, but I'm beginning to suspect something now.
If Adam and Lilith were created from the same dust, if they were created as equals, I am more than willing to bet... Lilith is also a self-centered, egotistical, arrogant asshole. But, she's likely far more intelligent, composed, and duplicitous.
Lilith was allowed to refuse Adam and leave of her own free will and garnered her own independence. A new wife was created for Adam, she was replaced. My guess, is she thought Adam wouldn't be able to live without her, to come back and find herself replaced entirely, she was enraged.
I believe both Adam and Lilith were both incredibly dominant individuals who fought over ideas, thoughts, and ultimately in the bedroom as well, if we take into account the creationist stories.
I'm willing to bet she likely manipulated Lucifer into twisting humanity against its original concept. What if Lucifer's intention truly was to just spark something within Eve, like independence and thought and creation, but it was Lilith's poison within the fruit that tainted her, then subsequently Adam, with sin.
Tumblr media
Lilith thrived in hell, while Lucifer's dreams of creation were dashed. She didn't suffer as he did, instead the power of her voice grew with hell. Her voice grew so powerful that heaven found it to be a threat, her actions instigated the beginning of exterminations.
Tumblr media
Charlie said that when she was a little girl, she didn't know Lucifer at all. I don't think this was because of Lucifer, he's seen here, picking her up, inviting her to share in his thoughts and dreams, showing her something wonderful. Something she could see within herself.
Charlie says that it's this moment that sparked her will to fight for her dreams. Which is strange, because at the very beginning of the story, Charlie says it was her mother's dream that was passed down to her.
Tumblr media
Lilith took Charlie away. In this scene, Lucifer wasn't done showing Charlie his thoughts and dreams, he's still yearning to show his daughter these things at this point.
Tumblr media
Lucifer loves his daughter. He loves Charlie so, so, so much. So why wasn't he allowed to build a relationship with his daughter for the longest time? He was waiting for the opportunity to get to know her, but with how much he adores her why didn't he do it sooner? He didn't comment on 'It took you a while-' he just said he missed her smile. They don't want to be pulled apart, again.
Tumblr media
Now, we know Vivziepop has said that Lucifer and Lilith love each other, but Lilith 'wears the pants' in the relationship. We see all of the pictures all over the walls of a supposedly happy family. I don't think the relationship was as loving as originally portrayed and Lilith is a woman who desires control above all else. She likely tried to mitigate what influence Lucifer had over their daughter when she thought his angelic thoughts and behaviors became more than what she approved of.
Tumblr media
Lets take it back to Adam and Lute for a moment. Again, Adam is a loud mouthed idiot, he's a jerk. The moment he realizes there are demons in heaven, he's ready to go on the attack. It's only because of Lute that he didn't end up doing something absolutely idiotic.
Tumblr media
I gotta say, Lute and Adam's relationship is an absolutely fascinating one. He's a disrespectful dick head in how he talks, but how he acts is a different story. He allows Lute to man-handle him. He does listen to her, even if he's a whiny bitch about it.
Tumblr media
Look at him, this is the face of a man listening, a dumb one, but a dude listening all the same. He doesn't manhandle her back, he doesn't even pull away until she lets go of his collar. Of all the shit he complained about, between being grabbed and being told what to do, his biggest complaint is that she's telling him to shush.
Tumblr media
We know that Adam is the one who suggested the exterminations to begin with, so Sera says, and this was because of the power that Lilith was amassing. To him, Lilith is a threat. Even when he was willing to move on, to go to another wife when Lilith didn't want him or want to submit to him (fair babe, he's a bit of an idiot), she came back with an angel and proceeded to manipulate his new wife Eve. This is the supposed progenitor of man-kind, the original dick (hilariously enough), the reason civilization even exists at all. He and Eve had to fight for their lives after being tempted with the fruit. They had immortality, they had no ideas of shame, they were supposedly 'innocent' creatures before Lilith and Lucifer came along. He and Eve had to fight tooth and nail to survive after being cast from Eden. I think it shows in how willing and ready he is to take lead and do what he believes needs to be done, now out of a need for entertainment rather than a need to defend or protect. But, he still stopped to listen to Lute's advice. In the mythological story of Adam and Eve, Adam is the one who has to tell Eve that god said don't eat the fruit. Eve never heard god speak to her, so she was vulnerable to the snake's manipulations. She will now die because she ate it, and because she did not want Adam to take another wife, convinced him to eat it unknowingly. Funnily enough, Adam tried to explain to god that 'she lied to me and gave me the fruit' and in this actual mythology, Adam was punished for listening to his wife. Even without mentioning Lilith in the original mythology, Eve didn't want Adam to take another wife, so when we consider it within the context of Hazbin Hotel, it may be likely that's how it went down. Eve knew of Lilith, knew that she could be replaced, and decided that she would take Adam with her.
I believe that Adam does and did rely on the women in his life to help him with direction. I think Adam knows he can be an idiot and is willing to listen, even if he doesn't agree with what he's hearing. He did listen to Charlie in the beginning, he just didn't believe in her, like everyone else and he, out of anyone there, probably had the most reason not to. Cain and Abel were his and Eve's sons, his own child became the first murderer. Out of jealousy, the same kind of jealousy that no doubt has caused Lilith to act how she did. Adam isn't going to have empathy for sinners. His family, his legacy, were filled with the original sinners. He probably had to kill his son Cain in hell during the first exterminations. What do you think he would have had to feel, if it came to be a fact that sinners could be redeemed? That maybe his son, could've been redeemed? Or any of his progeny for that matter? How did it feel when his sons, his progeny, weren't given the same mercy as the Hellborn that Lucifer managed to keep protected through some deal with the angels or god? Not to mention that Charlie could've been his daughter. Charlie is the product of the people who completely and totally destroyed the paradise he'd been born into. She's the daughter who is protected and immune from the slaughter while all of his sons and daughters are judged and killed. I believe, even though he was a dickish prankster to Charlie, he was surprisingly patient and even somewhat amicable, willing to even ask her how her weekend was like he was just trying to get to know her.
Tumblr media
Adam could just see all of the angels under his employ as being disposable. He doesn't have to name them, or think about them in any individual fashion. But, he knows Vaggie, recognized her instantly. Thought she was badass. Lute's the one who saw her, tore her wings off, and walked away. I'm surprised they even let her live, because this just goes against everything they're doing. They're an army and they saw one of their own showing empathy to the enemy.
Tumblr media
Look at this dumb ass. He's being a shit-head, a dick, a bastard. But, he admires Vaggie's ability to pull Charlie, congratulates her, this dude isn't even judging her for being a lesbian. I don't think it's because he objectifies women, this dude loves women, he just does. He respects fellow vagina lovers. I don't think he respects liars in the slightest though. He's being underhanded, he's trying to be manipulative (he's not very good at it). I think he's brutally open and honest about everything and that's probably one of the reasons he's such a bastard anyways, because sometimes you just need to shut-up and he's not good at that.
I don't think he respects Sera for that either, he's more than willing to let others know what the hell he's doing, but under Sera's lead, he can't be open about it. I don't think it's his jam to act this way, it's why he sucks so bad at it and I think that's why Lilith is so antithetical to him. I also think that's why he's possibly even being manipulated.
Tumblr media
It's kind of crazy that Adam is the only one who tries to come up with what allows someone to get into heaven. So here's his list: 1. Act Selfless: Maybe at one point he was! He had to have been, to be one of the progenitors of mankind, he would have had to work, sacrifice, and give to his wife and children for them all to survive. Eve would have had to do the same, no doubt. He may not seem selfless, due to his raunchy behavior, but he's served heaven since he's been there. He's served humanity in some kind of facet. 2. Don't Steal: Considering the only other humans are his spawn, he likely had to try and get them to not steal from one another for them all to have an equal opportunity of survival. He and Eve likely both knew they would need to work together to survive.
3. Stick it to the man: This, however, is interesting. Who is 'The Man' he speaks of? God? The only other people over him or were equal to him were women. He speaks like a rocker, and I think in this case he's using the term 'The Man' in a gender neutral way. I think he allowed some amount of Authority to Lilith when they were supposed to be seen as equals, it comes so naturally to him as a character when it comes to the other women he's been interacting with. I think she is the 'man' that he's been sticking it to- Pun somewhat intended. ((This third one may also simply be a tongue in cheek reference to when Alex Brightman played Dewey in School of Rock on Broadway! Thank you to the user who brought this to my attention!))
Tumblr media
Adam is a bit of a hypocrite, isn't he? He likes to fuck, he's made that abundantly clear. Full of lust you could say. It was his original purpose after all, and he is judging Angel Dust for something he probably would've done himself at one point or has considered doing (maybe not the having sex with men part). Angel Dust does all of these things, Adam doesn't even deny it. He even looks nervous. He's angry, but doesn't deny that Angel has done those things. He doesn't explain it away or try to lie or move the goal posts, he's just asking what is an actually very valid question.
Why isn't Angel Dust there if he can do things equal to what Adam himself hasn't done? Serenity continues that line of thought. It isn't until Charlie is realizing no one knows what it takes to get into heaven.
Tumblr media
Adam is more than willing to let Lute take the lead here, he's willing to give her the stage to clap back, he's giving her back-up antics. By all means, they could be pushing and fighting one another, there could easily be body language expressing something other than their general comfort around one another. They aren't fighting for a spotlight like you'd expect Adam to try and do considering his egotistical attitude.
Tumblr media
Adam fucking sucks at keeping his mouth shut and he sucks at lying. He nearly blew the secret out of the bag once, this time, Sera is the only one who tries to stop him and to be honest? Lute looks a bit too thrilled at it. He knows he fucked up, but he doesn't think it's a big deal that anyone would know. For fucks sake, they've already condemned souls, his progeny, to suffer. What's the big deal if he kills them?
Tumblr media
I have to re-iterate what's happening here. Charlie is proud she caused this chaos, that she caused these angels to fight amongst themselves, even if in this case it's a good thing. But, this is like history repeating itself to Adam, the reflection of his ex-wife, entering his domain, causing strife among his people, being happy about it.
Tumblr media
And the venom he expresses when it comes to the 'liar' portion, god Alex Brightman destroyed when he got to this portion specifically. There is some vehement disgust in his tone when he says liar.
Tumblr media
Adam isn't a good person now. But, I think he used to be a good person. By all means, Adam himself could've been the first murderer when his wife made her mistake. He, at one point in time, had to have been good enough to foster civilization itself with Eve. Both good and bad. Adam's original purpose was to be fruitful and multiply. Ordained by god (or maybe just angels) himself, divine power directed and created him to fuck. He didn't chase his ex-wife down, he was given a new one, Lilith was allowed to leave. When he left things alone, when he tried to move on, his ex-wife and a scorned angel destroyed the paradise he was in with Eve. He had to struggle and toil, he had to feel shame in his own body. He had to find out his first born son was the first murderer. His second son killed. We don't know if this is going to be canon in the story, a lot has changed, and if Adam is the first soul who reached heaven, then what did happen to Abel? Was Abel considered a sinner? Or did Cain kill Abel after Adam had passed? Either way, he had to witness his children kill, he had to watch his descendants behave in a range from saints and monsters. He's seen genocides, he's seen famine, war. Adam is desensitized to the plights of his descendants. Maybe he even saw it as a duty to cleanse the universe of their existence at one point, because they were his responsibility.
At the end of this episode, he is properly scolded by Sera and does seem ashamed of himself. He isn't huffy, he is reminded that he should be ashamed of acting that way.
Tumblr media
I love Lute's enthusiasm, she's absolutely brutal when talking about Vaggie and with how she handled Vaggie. I think it's funny that Lute is so brutal she's even made Adam uncomfortable. It's cute that he's made uncomfortable by the excitement and all he does is tell Lute, the premier hype woman over here, to chill. She's so proud of herself too, look at her.
Tumblr media
He fully expects these exorcist bad bitches to go in there and fuck shit up. But, you know it's hilarious that he's throwing horns? This dude, this angel. First human soul in heaven, loving rock n' roll, the devil's music, and throwing motherfucking horns. It's poetic really. I think we can probably assume where things are going.
Tumblr media
Now, this is the first point we've seen Adam being a real piece of shit to Lute. I don't think Adam likes it when people think he's too dumb to notice something, especially something so damn obvious. This is such a drastic moment of vitriolic, uncontrolled anger directed towards Lute. Adam knows he isn't the brightest tool in the shed. He likely knows he's obtuse and misses shit. It's why he sucks at lying, he knows he's not smart. That is why I think he's afforded women opportunities to direct him without fighting back against their advice and their choices. I'm sure Lilith made it obvious how dumb she thinks Adam is. I'm wondering if this might be where their ground breaking fight might've come from. Who's to say he didn't allow Lilith to take the lead, or listen to her like he's done with Lute here and now? Perhaps to an even greater point? He listened to Eve and ate from the fruit of knowledge and he was punished for it. Being seen as so dumb he can't formulate a simple fact is a sore spot for him.
Tumblr media
Adam is incredibly powerful. It took a bit out of him to exercise that power, probably because he's out of practice just like Lucifer said. At one point, he probably wasn't so sloppy and weak willed. He's gotten lazy. Sloth like.
Tumblr media
I think it got real personal here. How viscerally and personally he attacked Charlie. No one but Charlie truly thought sinners could be redeemed, or that they were even worth it. Not even one of the original sinners. Maybe he never considered the possibility, maybe what happened really did make him see the world as black and white to cope with that happened to him, his wife, his children. Charlie's desire to fight this idea would destroy the foundation for all of his coping through the years. He stopped seeing them as family, even though he's grandiose about his founding role in humanity. Does that itch the guilt that may lurk under the surface?
Tumblr media
I don't think Adam thought much of Charlie at all. I don't think he had any intention of coming to kill her in the beginning, despite seeing her, despite who her parents were. But, I think with the constant push, with how eager she was to disrupt the pre-conceived idea of order, it reminded Adam and reflected her parents so much, he was eager to kill her for revenge against them. I think this electrical interference on the mask is a direct reflection of sin. Namely, wrath, in this moment.
Tumblr media
Now, this. THIS. Is something that made me want to write this whole fucking essay. Is Lucifer implying that he not only gave Eve the Fruit from the tree of knowledge, but FUCKED HER TOO? Homies, I'm sorry but holy shit. That is some hydrating tea. I'd be pretty pissed too, fucked over twice by women who were supposed to be literal soul mates, who you were made for, who were made for you?
I knew he would have a goatee, I could almost hear it. I gotta say, I'm a sucker for how he looks. I think he's hot. He is a bastard, but so are a lot of the hot dudes in this show. It's just a theme.
Tumblr media
This exact series of lines prompted so many of the thoughts that I had about Adam and why he thinks or acts the way he does. At one point, Adam did have to work himself to the bone and learn to survive from scratch alongside Eve. He isn't entirely without cause to not think that he deserves some respect or recognition from his descendants.
But, that doesn't give him the right to act like god himself. It's... well... Blasphemous. Isn't it? One of the worst sins is to think yourself to be worthy of worship, as if you're a god.
Tumblr media
This is the moment that gave me empathy for them both. You could probably see the kind of loving person Adam could have been at one point with how he looks at Lute, even as he's laying there, dying. He's not crying like a bitch, just looking at Lute softly. Lute screaming for him, screaming his name. They cared for each other deeply.
Tumblr media
And this... and this.... and this. WHAT DEAL DID YOU MAKE, LILITH? Did you make it with Sera? Did you make it with Adam? Did you make it with Lute? Did you really just want a little 'vacay' away from the hell you helped create? Left her husband, depressed and lonely. Left her daughter without any care or guidance. Maybe Alastor was sent in her place, perhaps? Seven years since he was seen after all, but why wouldn't he show up sooner if Lilith did care? Did she make a deal with Lute and Adam? Did she let Adam smash it so she could stay in heaven? Did Lute let her stay in exchange for getting Adam out of a position of power? Or was it maybe Sera who commissioned Lilith with a deal? Either way, I'm in full belief that it wasn't Adam's idea to move the extermination day up. I think he's a patsy, a scapegoat. I think Lute may have been manipulated, potentially, into manipulating Adam into this position. Was it even really Adam who came up with the idea to do the exterminations? Or was he the one who simply decided to fight originally because he was told heaven was at risk due to Lilith's rising power? The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions. I think it could be any number of these. Either way, Lute certainly does think she had authority over Lilith. Is it Lute just having hubris? Or is Lilith truly bound, just like Alastor, Husk, and Angel Dust?
Tumblr media
Of course, now that we know a soul can be redeemed... and we certainly know that angels can fall. I don't think this will be the last we see of Adam.

Quick what in hell is bad headcanons, (or small stuff I probably noticed)
Demons in that universe are very animalistic much more so than obey me. They recognize their kind by scent. I wouldn't be surprised if they recognize individuals by their scent.
That being said, demons Will probably scent you as a claim "This is mine"they probably make in human noises akin to beasts. Like growling and hissing.
Give us true demon forms
Even though demons are naturally more animalistic, they have their own definition of civil (that bar is probably very low)
Abo probably exists.
Satan=cat
Demons have a weird hierarchy going on, they probably evaluate that hierarchy based on pure strength alone though I could be wrong I'm not too far into the story. But what I've seen so far is that. As long as weaker/lesser demons know their place stronger demons will let their mates touch them.
They're not just including Western style of demons or devils that looks like their branching out with other cultures which is pretty cool not going to lie.
The Angels are absolutely definitely more depraved and sinful than demons. Probably because with no outlet for their desires, sexual or not, once God left, they just started using murder as an outlet. If we ever get to have the angels as love interests, Mc's poor hole is definitely in trouble.

Hell's Rings | Part 1
It was harder than I thought, I had to squeeze the creativity juice out of my brain to create something coherent that looked realistic within the enclosure of the rules I created. I’m a sucker for Good Worldbuilding. I still had fun making this, fortunately.
I originally wanted to make one post for all the rings but Limbo was taking whole lots of paragraphs so I’ll post each of them individually.
I. Limbo
✦ General:
All sinners are crammed up there so the exterminations don’t affect other rings. Royalty avoids getting into Limbo preferring to send representatives to deal with the sinners and other Hellborns.
The Ring is separated into different districts based on the 7 Deadly Sins, each of them containing multiple ways of entertainment to sell the idea that “Hell is cool actually!” in order to lure new sinners in. There are many establishments named guilds directly belonging to the Six Sins (Minus Lucifer, he isn’t into that.) Each guilds have a domain of expertise whose purpose is to maintain a semblance of a functional society and/or control the population (Tailors, Butchery, any new Technologies, …) It’s the most common way for Sinners to find jobs, though one extra step to join these is to sell your souls to the Overlords, who is an exclusive Sinner or Hellbords directly working for the Sins.
The Ring is big and there are multiple guilds for the same domain dispersed over districts. Some are competitive with one another other collaborates.
Guilds hierarchy |From Lesser to Higher|
• Laborers:
They rarely partake in important projects, only ever given ‘unskilled labor’ (cleaning, delivering merchandise…). Some with potential are trained and supervised by workers so they can eventually be promoted and more helpful, the others are purposely kept in that role as people willing to do the dirty annoying job are still needed.
• Workers:
Skilled workers could become assistants for Overlords or train laborers with potential. It’s not unusual for guilds with the same domain to exchange, for a short period of time, a few workers either to help each other or simply so they come back with more competence as they were exposed to multiple techniques.
• Overlords:
They represent the 6 Sins. They are themselves expert in their domain and were assigned a guild to cultivate it. Furthermore, powers are granted to them, how? Blood. The Sins give small samples of their blood to Overlords granting them strength and physical resilience. They are much more difficult to hurt and the Sinners Overlords tend to regenerate quickly after death by normal weapons. This also helps them manage their physical and psychological punishment as the blood has a holly origin. The issue is that it’s temporary, to gain more blood you need to prove yourself to be valuable otherwise you’ll be left out.
They obliviously run the business, and make sure the guild maintains a notorious reputation so that people would buy their things and seek to work for them. There are multiple guilds for one domain, and when they aren't against each other (which happens a lot since each Overlord tries to get the favor of the Sins), they arrange meetings to make business decisions for the benefit of all. Sometimes the partnership is imposed.
✦ Native species:
There are no species that specifically were created in Limbo, the only notable ones are the Sinners. Hellborns can easily access other Rings via the Elevator which is heavily guarded.
Sinners and their punishment:
Sinners are the only ones forced to stay there but they are not bound magically to this place. While demons don't have many issues regarding using the elevator, Sinners need a verified authorization signed by a higher authority. They imperatively need to be brought back to Limbo, especially when the Extermination is about to happen.
No Sinners look totally human, being in Hell means you rejected God thus also the appearance he gave you. Their new form reflects the ways they died and their deepest insecurities or fears. |Some cannot look at themselves in the mirror because of that| They have no magical abilities, if you transform into an animal you may have another set of limbs or eyes but nothing more than that. At least not without the blood of higher authority.
It’s possible to get hurt in Hell and even ‘die’ a second time, but the death is only definitive if it’s an angelic weapon. Let’s say you got in an incident and got cut in half, you will regenerate but it’ll take centuries for you to get your legs back, and if your body gets somehow obliterated you’ll simply respawn. The regeneration process is painful but it’ll depend on the gravity of your injuries.
Each sinners have a punishment depending on the sins they committed the most in life which are:
• Pride: Denial, prideful sinners mentally block this ability to self-reflect blaming it on Heaven for wrongly judging them. They cannot be wrong in this situation, why would they ask for forgiveness when they haven’t done anything wrong? In fact, they can’t do anything wrong!
• Envy: Partial blindness if not total, your inability to see the good in what you have and constantly seeking to destroy the belongings of others is the biggest proof that you are blind. It just physically manifested in Hell.
• Wrath: The angrier you get the hotter your corporal temperature gets. It doesn’t do much, you can easily get heat strokes, organ damage if your angered state gets prolonged for too long, and plenty of other unpleasant stuff. I heard your blood can boil in extreme cases, most have already lost consciousness before reaching that state, luckily for them.
• Greed: Gold sickness. You are constantly seeking to obtain as much gold as possible, and in an effort to showcase your wealth and powers, you’ll eat it. I mean, if you’re one of those people who get pennies easily, what’s the difference if you decide to eat one coin, then another, and another? What do you mean it’s dangerous for the liver?
Did I mention you’ll also be ballshit paranoid? With all of that wealth, you constantly fawn around, eating it to show that you still have plenty of money left in your drawers, who wouldn’t want to steal it?
• Sloth: Deep state of depression. You’ll be stuck in a constant state of hopelessness and your ability to enjoy simple things will be suppressed. While other sinners will try to see the ‘good side of hell’ by indulging in the many activities available, you’ll be unable to do that and you seemingly cannot heal from it.
• Gluttony: Your metabolism is fast, dangerously so. Stuck in a constant state of hunger, you’re practically forced to eat gallons of food unless you want to starve, not to death, you can’t die.
• Lust: Constant dissatisfaction, whether it’s sex or something else. Your emotions and feelings are all over the place constantly making you seek more interesting and risqué situations to feel this thrill that drugs can’t reproduce, but it’s never enough.
Besides those lovely physical/psychological conditions, you cannot remember your life on Earth and you are bound to fully forget who you are after centuries. You still remain fragments of souvenirs, mostly related to your sins and regrets, but a Sinner fully recovering their memories hasn't been recorded in Hell’s history.
Where does the Elevator come from?
It was said that the wicked nature of Fallen Angels disrupted the environment so much that an earthquake later caused a rift allowing the creation of the Elevator everyone uses now. It’s mostly for those who don’t have power and can’t create portals to travel through the Rings.
Do you really think Royalty will bother sharing a public space with Hellborns and Sinners?
✦ How Limbos looks like:
General:
Something that is common with all of the Ring is how dark it is. Hell’s ultimate collective punishment is the separation from God so there’s no natural light available and you can’t see Heaven from there, it’s a completely isolated dimension.
Limbo’s ecosystem started as an average foothill, at its center there a mountains whose peak is where Adam and Eve live. This Noble house was blessed with the fire of the Ophamin and is currently protected by Seven walls representing the Virtuous with only one entry, nobody leaves nobody enters.
If you read my other rewrite post, you’ll ask me “Then how can Adam and Eve watch over the population of sinners if they can’t leave?” well, the eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those eyes are present in most of the series, I’m pretty sure they are a reference to Roo or something but, yeah no, not in my rewrite. These eyes are golden and represent Heaven’s weariness of Hell, Adam and Eve watch the people through them. If it were to become an animated series, I’d like to add the details that during exterminations they are closed. Even if the people who get killed are sinners, Adam and Eve cannot bear watching their lineage get destroyed because of guilt, they know that if they never ate the defended fruits none of this would have been necessary.
The Seven District:
Each seven districts has a different aesthetic and depending on whether some may be more modernized while the other will have a more wild forest aesthetic.
Pride
My main inspiration for the hypothetical design of Pride was France in the late 17th century to early 18th, Aka during the reign of Louis XIV.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The place is very structured with methodic geometrical architecture to convey control over the elements, there’s a few parks and public spaces here with no sign of weebs, it’s neat. Pride is filled with peacocks, pomegranates, and lion imagery, the animals here to represent Lucifer and his pack of Fallen Angels, and the fruits as a reference to what happened in Eden.
The entertainment value of the district is more toward art with theatres, museums |That depict biblical stories and make the demons seen as martyrs|, libraries with history books that may or may not be falsified, salons, and other things only rich people can afford. Lucifer makes little to no investment to build most of these places, he doesn't even visit the district. No, all of this display of wealth is mostly due to the Goetia and other Fallen Angels, they are proud of what they did throughout history |or at least they try to convince themselves| which is why they show off their accomplishment through arts like a gleeful kid revealing a drawing to their mother.
There’s little sign of poverty in Pride, other than maybe a few imps playing various instruments to get a penny, most hotels and houses are only affordable for the richest. The impoverished population is usually more prominent and visible in the other districts.
Envy
Districts, where new trends appear, welcome this rip-off of Los Angeles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Popularity is extremely important within the district and one of the many ways you can cultivate it is through internet. Envy offers the perfect canvas and public spaces for taking pictures to post on social media for people to fawn over you and get easily jealous.
Celebrities’ culture is cherished within the District and every Overlord seeks to be the next Kardashian. All go on private events |red carpets and meet gala style| in an effort to bring attention to themselves and enhance their popularity with the populace. Careful there, one mistake will ruin your reputation for the next centuries, and let’s just say that your competition will be seeking to absolutely destroy everything that gives you access to aids. It is envy in its purest form not just mere jealousy.
Wrath
The district is stuck between petty turf wars and gang organizations. The only ‘safe’ places for you are the guilds that are military-guarded because you simply cannot trust the citizens there to behave and not steal the merchandise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not the best district to live in unless you're an agent of chaos and like wrecking everything and everyone. Usually, the first introduction newbie sinners get from Wrath is to see bodies hung on the few trees that are still standing. It’s just the local mafias publicly punishing those who disrespected them and unfaithful members, this can go from simple humiliation or public torture. Nevertheless, they will eventually let your corpse rot away for everyone to see.
Well-crafted organization aside, rookies who simply come here for the thrill usually participate in street-fight, there’s multiple disaffected buildings that serve that purpose, sheltering reckless fighters during their dangerous endeavor. Some like to put random batiments on fire for some reason, they think it’s ‘fun.’
Greed
Here you’ll get the ultimate flashback from the Industrial Revolution, it’s not the cleanest place and it’s tough to breathe but simplistic jobs are much more available. Some buildings are made of gold, unfortunately, you can’t see it because the fumes of the usine got them dirty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To work in a guild you need to have some level of competence in a certain domain, some sinners simply don’t have that. Hell might as well have an abundance of certain employment that doesn't demand knowledge over anything. That’s what you find in Greed!
This district has everything the other has regrouped in one place but with lower qualities. guilds only centered around commerce are mostly found in Greed, usually, minor guilds from another district can collaborate with them and they’ll share benefits. What can I say, you find lots of things there, bars, local prostitutes, restaurants, drugs, and everything that maintains Hell’s economy.
Sloth
I kept the medical theming, but it’s more of a desperate attempt to ease the pain through what is sold as anti-depressants like Benzodiazepines. I mean, it is used in anti-depressants but it’s only effective when you are medically supervised, here they just throw the pills at you and you eventually develop an addiction, it seems like it’s the only thing that can help you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Japan was my main inspiration, especially Kyoto with this general peacefulness through the architecture without being too techy. Hikikomori is a term used to describe people who voluntarily withdraw from society, it’s what you become under the sin of Sloth. The district would have been desert if it wasn’t for the other sinner.
Everything is made to ‘facilitate’ your life and make sure you avoid stepping outside as much as possible. There’s no sun, there’s no God to help you what’s the point? There are a few relaxation centers and saunas here and there but your mind prefers staying home, there’s nothing to enjoy in Hell. You might as well rot inside and wait for an angel to exterminate you once and for all.
Gluttony
Entering the district with no money is a rookie mistake, you know when your stomach is empty and you suddenly smell the fresh pastries of a closed bakery. Expect this feeling to hit you like a good slap across the face.
We need to eat in order to live some just live in order to eat. But now you’re dead, there are absolutely no consequences here, it’s not like everything is made to get you completely addicted. Nutritional values? Who cares, it’s tasty! I heard some even purposely throw up their food in order to make a place in their stomach. It may be disgusting but what’s the point of buying excess food if you’re not going to eat it all?!
Food isn’t the only thing you can enjoy, taverns and bars are abundant enough for you to party and overindulge in all of the liquors available. A new market of drugs recently started, Gluttony was initially just about food but it’s funny how humans on Earth keep finding new ways to fuck their lives over, without the influence of Hell! Anyway Bellzebub took this opportunity and a new market emerged.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like to think the district is a mix of multiple cultures to diversify the amount of foods, spices and tastes with a tab bit of questionable hygiene, and the district is filled with flies-like drawn to the scents |they also eat meats, alive or not|. They’ll be different streets selling foods and dishes with a hellish touch from different countries with also luxurious restaurants serving banquets for those who can afford them. You know, why stick to one food aesthetic when I can take them all? Gluttony is still about overindulgence.
Lust
Paris, La Belle Epoque. Asmodeus likes it sensual with a touch of classic, you can’t lean toward extravagance without a touch of pizzazz.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The district reeks of sex and debauchery filled with deep blue butterfly peas and other risqué statues and paintings. Lust isn’t always about the deed but it’s what it is known for, they might as well, commit to the aesthetic. Here, mostly inhabited by succubus and satyrs, I can guarantee you’ll find something you’ll like between the cabarets, brothels, and private salons to satisfy each of your most depraved fantasies. As long as you pay, good sex is guaranteed and your spouse won’t know a thing.
✦ Lenore’s sanctuary:
At the mountain foot, there’s a dense forest, and once you’re there it’s over. You constantly change path without realizing it and there are multiple illusions leading you nowhere. On top of that, you will be kept in a constant state of isolation. The forest is cursed and it’s a well-known fact.
Lenore basically cursed the place so that nobody she didn't trust could reach her sanctuary located on the Mountainside. People who are trusted have made a deal with her, they respect her rules, and they gain a safe environment to live in. Each person when navigating through the forest sees flickers of light that guide them to the sanctuary.
Most people here are children, orphans imps, and Hellborns who lived in poverty and she recently started to get more sinners in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still, there are plenty of protection sigils drawn on doors and windows, and she regularly puts on protection spells to repel negative influence.
Now the reason why Lenore doesn’t get as much attention is because she’s Lucifer’s daughter. Not one of the many bastard children of Lilith, she actually has her father's blood in her veins! The King doesn’t seem to give a crap about his daughter's activities and picking a fight with a Nephilim doesn't seem like a good idea, the Seven Sins let her be for now. Her activities haven’t reached a great scale and it’s a matter of time before her sanctuary starts lacking space.
How do they get le food?
The Mountain can be considered a much more holy place since the top is where Adam and Eve lives, allowing the soil to be more fertile. That’s how they get the food without using supplies from the Gluttony District, Lenore with her angelic ancestry can have access to Earth via portals and cultivate earthly food there. The residents cook whatever they want after.

"...Brother. Why?"
Why didn't you ask me to come first?
I didn't mind becoming a demon. As long as I was with you, I didn't mind going to hell.
If I could be with you, that would have been paradise for me."  🥲
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eden and Gehenna function similarly to how the Game in Tokyo does with rankings on the hierarchy. The heirarchy never mattered to Shaytan because he genuinely couldn't tell the difference between higher and lower on it since he wasn't constrained by the rules of gravity.
"Of course, you can only tell the difference between high and low by knowing the direction in which the fruit of paradise falls. But how can Shaytan, who is "free from gravity," distinguish that?"
Shaytan genuinely saw everyone equally. There was no such thing as "special" to him and, by extension, nobody was seen as or treated as lesser. It was something that those in Gehenna found solace in and adored him for, but it was also what hurt Michael the most.
Tumblr media
Michael came into Shaytan's life before everyone and was his little brother. He should've been special to Shaytan, but he wasn't. Shaytan looked at Michael the same way he did everyone else. That's why Michael becomes enraged when he's met with the same eyes those from Gehenna beg to be seen by.
Tumblr media
Michael didn't care about Eden's hierarchy or his position. He would've abandoned it all alongside his big brother if only Shaytan asked him to. Michael wanted Shaytan to explicitly ask him to be by his side because he just wanted to be special to Shaytan. Falling from paradise with him wouldn't have mattered to Michael because Shaytan was his paradise 😭❤

How innocent Lucifer/girl boss Lilith could work
Since it's now been decided that Lucifer has been defeated and depressed, but no less fun all these years
Tumblr media
while Lilith thrived as soon as Lucifer's hell became a thing, and now she is being called on to step up, how could these be used to explain away
• the messy hierarchy
• the shithole that is hell
• the other six sins
• the other demons that aren't sinners
Unfortunately, blame it all on Lilith could be the solution
(it's not like there isn't form for this already).
First off, she will slot in easily to the mothers trend.
Lilith being no angel but a human, perhaps not having much power of her own outside of her prestigious marriage and no respect from the heaven borns, only really having a connection to the once human sinners and whatever few prehistoric people that are somewhere in the crowd of the abundance of new people born over millennias could be why things are such a mess?
Lucifer could easily be the equivalent of the sugar daddy (again, form on multiple occasions) who is the investor and landlord who ultimately has to be answerable for what goes on in his turf on his tab, reluctant or not.
Tumblr media
Absolutely anything goes in this realm.
Tumblr media
Maybe it's because the true owner doesn't want to bother and the manager can only do so much? A workplace like this tends to be chaotic and all things serious stop mattering.
Since Lilith had fame
her popularity could easily lead to some leadership since fans and maybe an entourage will look up to her and certian people in certain places may rub shoulders with her, now look into the old stories of Lilith, who was said to have left Adam to live in another part of the garden to hang out with demons and have an affair with the devil, it all cosigngs Hazbin Lilith.
Since she was able to hang with Lucifer, what if she too befriended the other six sins?
What if she's the one doing business with them?
What if they're hired middle management helping to create order out evil?
What if Lilith is one if the sins?
Though the Hazbin series focuses solely on the sinners where the pilot didn't, we all know that there are various races of demons in hell, now look at the three sins we have met, along with additional royalty Stolas and Paimon (who seems to have children of various kinds)
Tumblr media
they don't look remotely alike, so what if the sins or other high ups like them touched down in hell with 'lesser' little demons like them?
The sinners could simply be Lucifer's reluctant responsibility because the fruit was his doing, maybe he and Lilith did cheat heaven accepted Adam or blamed and not worked upon Eve out or a god role over their descendants?
Tumblr media
Are we supposed to believe that Lilith has no knowledge of good and evil (what the fruit historically contained)?
How true is Charlie's storybook?
What if Lilith hazbin Eve all along?

Damned if you Do (Devil!Doflamingo x Reader) Part 3
I WAS planning on updating something else first, but this fic really has a hold on me right now and I might just be falling for Rosinante a little so hope you don't mind :P Usual warnings for NSFW stuff and religious themes. Mentions of terminal illness in this one too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Part 3: Chokehold
~
It was odd to see Rosinante in a t-shirt and jeans. You had stared at him for so long, he’d had to wave his hand in front of your face before you realised he had asked you a question.
“Sorry, what?”
“I said, do you want to take the bed and I’ll take the couch?”
“Oh. Don’t put yourself out just because of me. I’ll take the couch.”
“You’ll take the bed.”
You rolled your eyes. “Yes, Dad.”
Rosi’s little one-room cottage on the property behind the church was barely bigger than your studio apartment, but it was cosy. Crocheted blankets and piles of books seemed to cover every surface, and the windowsill was overflowing with plants all in various stages of dying. You wanted nothing more than to just collapse onto the plush looking couch and sleep the afternoon away, but Rosi had piled the tiny dining table high with books on demon hierarchies and exorcisms and intended to read every single one of them in the hopes of finding a way to banish a Demon Lord.
“I’m not that much older than you, you know.”
“It’s not my fault you give off dad energy! The priest getup really doesn’t do you any favours.”
“Yes, well, that’s kind of the point of it.”
You walked to the neatly made bed and dropped your rucksack onto it, feeling a little weird about sleeping in a priest’s bed. The duvet was pink with little red hearts all over and for some reason you found that endearing.
“I’m going to order us some food. Any preferences?”
And so it was that the afternoon crawled by, Rosi absorbed in reading, you alternating between skimming whatever you could find that wasn’t in Latin, and texting Law while empty Thai takeout boxes slowly piled up in front of you.
I can’t see you for a while. These protections Rosi put on me are hardcore. He says lesser demons won’t be able to come within fifty feet of me.
I’ll be fine. Do what you need to do. Stay safe.
You sighed and scratched absently at the skin of your neck. You reeked of holy oils and incense, and would kill for a shower, but Rosi had forbidden you from doing so until it was time to renew the wards. He had also forbidden you to leave the church grounds. Not that you had anywhere else to be, but the thought alone was enough to have you feeling cooped up.
You sighed again and snapped your book shut. “How about I just kill him?”
Rosi looked up, surprised as if he’d forgotten you were even there. “Well, there’s the small problem of him possessing control over your body. Not to mention any Lord of Hell would have considerable physical strength too.”
“What if I took him by surprise?”
“He would likely possess supernatural senses as well. I doubt it would end well for you.”
You pouted and folded your arms over your chest. “It was just an idea.”
“An idea that’s likely to get you killed.”
He set the book down on the table with a sigh and rubbed his eyes. Then he surprised you by taking a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lighting one, cracking the window to blow the smoke out into the dreary twilight air.
You raised an eyebrow.
“I’m trying to quit,” he said defensively.
“How have I known you for two whole years and never knew you were a smoker?”
“It’s not exactly a good look for a priest to show up to mass reeking of tobacco.” He offered you one.
You shook your head. “I’m good. But I wouldn’t say no to some of that nasty communion wine.”
Rosi grinned sheepishly. “I can do you one better.” He stubbed out the cigarette and opened the dining room cabinet, from which he pulled a bottle of bourbon whiskey. A very expensive bottle of bourbon whiskey.
You raised both eyebrows. “Father, you continue to surprise me.”
He poured you each a healthy measure, then clinked his glass against yours and took his seat again. The bourbon was smooth and rich and you could feel your nerves ease at the soothing notes of butterscotch and oak.
“Not bad for a Priest,” you admitted. “How old are you anyway?”
“I turned 30 last July.”
You were speechless. He was so young. Only four years your senior.
“The hell makes someone want to be a priest at your age?”
He frowned at your use of language, but otherwise said nothing for a long while. Not until he had finished his glass and poured both you and himself another did he finally speak.
“When I was a child, my older brother was possessed by a demon.”
Shock hung in the air between you. You’d had no idea. Not when you first came to him two years ago begging for help, and not in the years since had he ever mentioned anything about his history. You supposed you hadn’t really made the effort to get to know him beyond a professional relationship though. Not when you knew your time was limited.
“What happened?”
“He killed our parents. He almost killed me. A priest died trying to exorcise the demon and… my brother didn’t survive the ordeal…” His tone was clipped.
“Holy shit, Rosi… I’m so sorry.”
He shook his head. “I became a priest because once I knew that kind of evil was out there, destroying lives, I couldn’t just turn a blind eye.” He finished off his drink once more and lit another cigarette.
You didn’t know what to say.
“You wanna tell me what you sold your soul for?”
You winced. Honestly, you had been expecting that question for two years.
“Not particularly,” you said. “But I suppose it’s only fair.”
You reached across the table and took the cigarette from Rosi’s finger, letting yourself take one long drag to calm your racing heart before handing it back.
“I was 16 and stupid. I was in love with a boy. I mean, I thought I was in love. You know how teenagers are.” You laughed awkwardly. “We’d been best friends for years but in our sophomore year, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.”
“Oh, [Name]…”
You could feel tears prick the corners of your eyes but you willed them away. “I was so desperate, I was willing to do anything… And when I met a man at a crossroads one night while I was walking home from the hospital, I believed him when he said he could make my wildest, deepest desire a reality. And, well..”
“Your soul for a life.”
“Yep.” You took another sip of your drink, letting it cast its welcome fog over your mind. “It worked. He lived. And at that age ten years felt like an eternity.”
“And you and your… friend?”
You shrugged. “We grew apart. He was never interested in me the same way and eventually I moved on too.” You cleared your throat loudly, banishing the last of the tears that threatened to escape. “I was young and stupid and I guess I’m just getting what I deserve now.”
You looked up at Rosi to find that his eyes had softened. “You may have done a stupid thing,” he said gently. “But you were not stupid. And you deserve to live a full and happy life just as much as that boy you saved.”
You almost teared up again at his words, but instead you just gave him a warm, genuine smile and poured yourself another drink.
Many hours and half a bottle of bourbon later, the two of you finally turned in—you, stumbling, to the bed, Rosi to the couch once more despite your insistence that you would have been fine on the couch.
You were out in moments, but when you opened your eyes, you were no longer in the priest’s little cottage, but an extravagant bed chamber, draped in burgundy velvets and silks. On the bed, was the Demon Lord.
His eyes were closed, head tilted back against the headboard, and he was… stroking himself. Languidly. As if he had nowhere else in the world to be. Your mouth suddenly dry, you scanned the room for an exit, hoping against hope you could leave before he noticed you were there (were you there? Or were you still back in the cottage?). His voice stopped you before you could even take a step.
“I’d been wondering where you’d got to,” he purred. “Have you been hiding from me, my dear?”
His eyes were open now, fixing you with a mesmerising ice blue stare. You struggled to keep your gaze level with his as that hand continued to do sinful things beneath the silk covers. “Clearly not well enough,” you said. The words did not come out as cool as you were hoping they would.
He clicked his tongue. “Found yourself a holy man, I see. How long before he sees who you truly are and leaves you like the rest?”
“And you think you know who I truly am?”
“I can see the darkness inside you, my dear. It calls to me like mine calls to you. Don’t try to deny it.” He pressed a hand to his chest and you felt your own heart lurch in response.
How easy it would be to just crawl into his bed, to let him claim you. To finally stop fighting for a soul you were sure was even worth saving. Faster than you could blink, he was before you, naked and beautiful and terrifying. He lifted a hand to cup your chin, tilting your face until his mouth only inches from yours. You felt a twist of desire deep in your gut. “We are bound, you and I. I wore a different form then, but I still remember the kiss we shared. Do you?”
You nodded. How could you forget. It had been your first kiss. A seal on the contract that damned your immortal soul.
“I have been waiting for the moment I could taste you again.”
You didn’t fight it when he lowered his lips to yours. He tasted of pomegranate and honey, intoxicating as the whiskey that still clouded your thoughts. A small voice in the back of your head told you you were dreaming, but you shoved it aside. If this was a dream, then there was no harm in indulging. Just a little.
He deepened the kiss, and you parted you lips for him, eager to taste more of that heady sweetness. His hand found your waist and tugged you against his tall, hard body, the evidence of his arousal hot and eager against your stomach. You wound your hands in his blond hair, nails scraping as you tugged him impossibly closer.
Wake up.
The voice was there again, more insistent this time. You growled and shoved it away harder. The demon seemed to be laughing at your internal battle. His other hand grazed the length of your body, from shoulder to thigh, leaving fire in its wake and fuelling the fire between your legs. Almost as if he had read your thoughts, he hoisted you into his arms and pressed your back against the velvet-draped wall.
Fuck. You could feel all of him against you, your drenched sleep shorts the only barrier between you and that impressive length. You wanted it. You wanted him. More than anything you’ve ever wanted in your life—
WAKE UP.
You gasped awake. Darkness surrounded you. Your skin burned like a fever and your nightclothes were twisted around you and drenched in sweat, but a cool pair of hands held your shoulders. For a fraction of a second, you thought you were still dreaming and the demon was holding you down, but a familiar voice gave you pause.
“[Name]!”
Rosi knelt above you, dressed in only his boxers. He sighed in relief when he noticed you were awake.
“Thank God,” he said. “You were dreaming. I couldn’t wake you.”
“I—,” you croaked, your throat dry. You swallowed and tried again. “I don’t think it was a dream. He found me.”
You couldn’t see Rosi’s face in the darkness, but he sat up on his heels, concern lacing every word. “How? I gave you every protection I knew of!”
You shook your head. “Maybe the whiskey made it easier to slip past the wards, I don’t know.”
Now that the sweat was drying on your skin, you shivered in the cool night air. Rosi almost fell off the bed in his haste to fetch you a blanket, wrapping it tightly around your shoulders. You were grateful not just for the warmth, but because you could still feel a slickness between your thighs that—though he couldn’t see it in the dark—felt indecent in the presence of a priest.
“What happened?” Rosi sat back on the edge of the bed.
“I fell asleep and suddenly I was… somewhere else. Not physically, I guess, if my body was still here. But everything felt real.”
“Did he hurt you?”
You laughed. “I assure you, Father, it was quite the opposite.” You changed the subject quickly. “He said something interesting though, before… He said he’s bound by this contract too. Maybe that means there’s a loophole somewhere, or that he can be convinced to break it somehow.”
“You think so?”
“Maybe. I don’t know..
“We’ll look into it tomorrow. We should try and get some sleep.”
“I… don’t know if I can.”
Rosi thought for a second, then rummaged in the drawer in the bedside table. As he did so, it suddenly clicked that he was very much shirtless. And… kind of jacked? You pushed the thought out of your clearly sex-addled brain as he looped something around your neck. It was a rosary.
“Wear this to sleep. If you know the Hail Mary, maybe say a few. I think it should work until we can find a better solution in the morning, okay?”
You nodded your thanks and curled up on your side, clutching the rosary to you chest. But you didn’t sleep. You couldn’t.
From Rosi’s whispered prayers in the other room, neither could he.
In the ars goetia they are represented as kings, dukes, and so on.. but the demons like Mammon, Leviathan, they are not part of the ars goestia, so could we say there are different structures of hell?
Well, the Ars Goetia is only one part of the overall grimoire The Lesser Keys of Solomon -- and it is certainly not the only grimoire that exists historically! Other famous grimoires include the Dictionnaire Infernal and the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, though these also are far from the only ones. In fact, we have a book -- The Dictionary of Demons -- which sources and lists over 1,700 demons that have been mentioned in various grimoires and other occult texts over the ages. And here is what that book has to say on rankings:
In the vast majority of grimoires, demons are typically assigned a rank and royal title to indicate their position in the pecking order of Hell. In the Testament of Solomon, [...] demons sometimes present themselves as princes and kings - positions largely in keeping with the concept of royalty that existed at the time. Medieval works [...] expand the demonic hierarchy to include a variety of positions: princes and kings, dukes and earls, counts, presidents, and even knights - positions reflective of the feudal system at work throughout Europe during that time. The ranks attributed to the infernal legions may tell us more about the time period in which the various books of magick were penned than they do about the actual hierarchy of Hell.
It goes on to mention that seven ranks were eventually solidified within demonology, as seven was a number "of great significance in medieval and Renaissance Europe" due to the number of planets known at the time and the thought of seven spheres making up the heavens. The Lesser Key of Solomon was responsible for then assigning planets to each of the ranks, which in turn were linked to metals, and those metals were needed for the magical seals.
Basically, the ranks do sort of establish a sense of hierarchy in hell, but practically speaking, humans mainly need pay attention to those ranks more just for the magical practice of knowing how to deal with the demons correctly.
That said, we've talked about the Hierarchy of the Devildom in this post, which also lists the seven titles. It's also important to note that Mammon and Leviathan in particular are actually demons derived from other concepts/beings -- Mammon originally just meant money/riches, and Leviathan comes from a sea serpent referenced in the Bible, which actually has roots in Lotan. So Levi himself is actually Lotan, and he's just doing a really exaggerated roleplay when he says he's summoning Lotan. So in terms of different ranking structures then, the answer is sort of yes, sort of no. It's a mess of manmade governing systems as applied to theological creatures over time.
But in OM canon, we can very conveniently just throw most of this out because Diavolo is the one and only Future Ruler of the Devildom, the brothers and Barbatos are his immediate council, and everyone else serves as just general "nobles," such as the House of Lords. They probably have more in-depth hierarchies amongst themselves -- but for all we need to care about in the game, they're a big hassle of demons who give Diavolo (and the brothers) a hard time and should back the fuck off!! :)
Imp Info Dump
[Is what it says on the tin, let’s go.]
Tumblr media
-Size wise, an imp can be as small as a domestic hamster, or as large as a small to medium sized dog.
This can fluctuate with emotions and the energy used to manifest them, but imps usually maintain the same/similar size to their first manifestation.
Dew, for example, is about the size of a guinea pig, while Mountain is the size of a dog.
-Imps are lesser demons, lesser even than ghouls in Hell’s hierarchy, but are notoriously good at manipulating the emotions of greater demons, animals, and even humans, and often take advantage of this to gain protection from other threats.
On the surface, though, it’s more of a codependent and/or mutual relationship.
-Some imps are ghouls in disguise, other imps are just... cats. More or less.
You can tell if an imp is a ghoul by dousing them in sulfur, as it turns them back into their original form.
-Appearance wise, imps share three key traits: Horns, tails, and paws/hooves.
The consistent factor with the paws/hooves situation is that all non-hybrid based imps have three “fingers” on each “hand”.
Dew has two.
However their looks can vary greatly from there.
-Imps can mimic sounds and even speak if they try hard enough... but it’s a pain in the ass, so they don’t do it often.
And, lastly;
-Imp paws are compatible with touch screens.
I just had a wild fucking thought Sasuke, from Ikémen Sengoku gets sent tho the Devildom without his love (he's my romance in that game), that gorgeous fucking Physics Major Ninja, sent to hell for a year. With his inability to actually make a facial expression.
His natural curiosity, desire to learn, wicked smarts, and stoic personality would so attack Lucifer, and Sengoku would be having NONE OF IT! He's already in love, and it took 4 years and 3 months to figure that the fuck out.
The first time a lesser demon attacked him, he'd laugh and thoroughly kick his ass thanks to his majorly awesome Ninja skills and lots of homemade ground spikes. Because of course he'd be there in his full kit.
And Lucifer would be salivating over this man! Fuck I cannot get this out of my head.
"Sengoku, may I take you out to dinner?"
"No thank you my lord, my fiance is waiting for me, my heart already belongs to someone else." With a quick bow, totally sliding into Devildom hierarchy and NOT getting caught going up those stairs because FUCKING NINJA!
Considering Wanda has now become the Darkhold, I'm very interested in her rulling the Flickering Realm - Chthon's dimension. It would be an opportunity to explore its politics and civilization of the N'garai, as it is their home base. What are your thoughts?
I don't think Wanda is interested in ruling anybody, especially not in place of Chthon. I imagine she would feel very strongly that anyone who has been subjugated by him deserves freedom and autonomy. The N'Garai... kinda suck, when you actually look at their history, but they seem to have some kind of caste system and really terrible power hierarchies. I would love to see what kind of change would come from Wanda dismantling those power structures. Defeating Kierrok, the N'Garai Madbhara who terrorized Hexfinder's ancestors, would also be a great way to resolve Wanda's conflict with Nicola.
I'm definitely very interested in the internal politics and societies of demons and other "monster" races. We've seen a lot of development in this area with vampires and, to a lesser degree, werewolves. Krakoan-era X-Men titles have explored autonomy and sovereignty in Otherworld and Limbo, to varying degrees of success. I think it's very clear that these political concepts are on a lot of folks' minds, and it's being reflected in our speculative fiction-- for better, or usually, for worse.
Anyways, while I don't think Wanda should necessarily feel responsible for Chthon's legacy, I do believe that she feels empathy for other beings and races that have been impacted by him. With her powers and status as the Living Darkhold, she's uniquely suited to act as an ambassador for these communities. We have already seen this with K'lay/the Flickering Realm-- in Scarlet Witch #9, she's seen advocating to the In-Betweener for K'lay's autonomy-- and with Elderspawn such as the Bricklayer in Crypt of Shadows (2023). I suspect we might see something similar with the vampires in Blood Hunt.
Tumblr media
I would really love for Wanda to become, like, the main go-to character for anything to do with the Elder Gods, Inner Planes (which includes hell-dimensions, mythical realms, and places like K'lay), and Elderspawn. It would put her on the same level as Doctor Strange, while still allowing her to have her own unique thing, as Stephen is generally more concerned with the Outer Realms. It would also allow witchcraft and Earthly magic to retain more of a unique flavor-- I don't love how much Wanda, Agatha, and Jericho's powers have blended into typical Marvel sorcery in the last couple years.
Something I've been wanting for a long time is to get a comprehensive, company-wide update to the lineage of the Elder Gods and the structure of the Inner and Outer Planes, sort of like what HoXPoX did for X-Men comics. Initially, that's what I thought G.O.D.S. was gonna be, and I'm kind of glad that it's not-- I don't really think Hickman's ethos would be a good fit. Instead, I feel we're starting to see it in Immortal Thor, which is wonderful, because Ewing really understands what those sort of mythology-based stories need, and he's already done a lot of esoteric worldbuidling that will cross over nicely. Thor is one of the living characters who is most closely connected to Gaea-- Wanda, as Chthon's keeper and inheritor, would be a really good compliment in exploring this world.
The Colonisation Of Hell
There’s this thing they call the Blood War. Sometimes they call it the battle of Doctrines. Maybe you’ve heard it called the Eternal Struggle, or the Lesser Evils, or in some rare cases the Tanar’ri policing action. It’s setting-relevant, it’s one of those seemingly iconic details of the planar cosmology that forms around all sorts of worlds.
art by Martina Lavrini on Artstation
Here I’d like to suggest that there’s another way you can handle this if you’re willing to challenge the idea of an inherently evil shape to the universe, and the idea that the world polarises around the fundamental ideas of law and chaos.
Conventionally as presented, the idea is that the universe has this like, primeval place for evil, this outside place full of demons and devils, and when given a chance to understand one another, evil takes the form of chaotic evil or lawful evil. These then look at one another and immediately hate each other. It makes sense. There’s a war between the Demons and the Devils, and those are fundamentally different things because one is lawful and one is chaotic. One is wild and thoughtless and free and just wants to destroy, one is the more refined, dignified kind of evil that wants to own cities and control populations and manipulate people.
One of them is, to a society that is lawful, the better class of evil. Or even just to a society that’s not considering itself proactively and aggressively anti-lawful, probably better. It’s the Invisible Bullets situation: Devils you can negotiate with, but Demons? Demons are untamed, they’re, wild, they’re madness. Demons are the hulking ones, the animalistic ones, the ones that just do whatever and don’t have a plan or a purpose. They’re not trying to impose some order here. The lore, the books, the established knowledge is very clear about how things work and it’s so common a form of expertise that there are veterans and recruits into this war from the Prime Material Plane.
Thing is, if you talk to a serious scholar on the subject, someone who researches the things by their own substance, Devils and Demons are the same thing. They’re not the same thing same thing, people like to talk about them as if they’re the same thing but they’re not inherent categories. Oh, the books say that they’re different categories and one of them is infinitely variable, all the chaotic entities in a great big bucket without hierarchy or relationships. Then the books say that the other side has nine layers of hell, and in those spaces a bunch of lords who all defer to one another and in the process the detail all treats it like everything you’re reading is inherent and obvious and categorically true to the plane they’re on.
It’s just not true.
It’s functionally true – Hell exists, and it’s connected to The Abyss. The Abyss is a spiralling space of hostile planar space that coils in and on itself and gives rise to these fundamentally hostile, antilife outsiders. There is a categorical structure to their space that makes ‘evil’ entites coalesce, and there are some signs that some kinds of people who die are somehow part of this ecosystem. The actual process of how souls transfer to the Hells is a matter for more debate, but setting aside that ‘people told me it was true’ is no way to conduct scientific research, that’s not important here. What’s important is that the Nine Hells are a nine-layered plane that somehow works like infinite spaces that are also of decreasing scale from one another, until the bottom layer and a throne. And that’s the place that tells people that actually, the Hells are structured in a fundamentally different way to the Abyss.
The Abyss is over there, endlessly chaotic and dangerous; the Hells are here, contained and limited and with a hierarchy. Between them there are the Grey Wastes where they do war. None of those places where the Devils are or their war with the Abyss are ‘really’ Hell, ‘really’ part of the Abyss. Right?
And that’s because the Devils have said as much.
In all the books and all the ways they enforce it with military force and torment and torture and words and the propaganda they export, the Devils say that this is how Hell works.
Devils are the Colonisers of Hell.
The entire nine-layer system, the organisation of Devils, the idea of the infinite engine of Devils is an entirely colonial empire, carved out of the Abyss. It is an order imposed and asserted and because of the fundamentally cruel and abusive nature of the people involved, there’s not a lot of interrogation about how they do it. Sure, the devils torture and connive and hurt one another to make sure they are all working together in the ‘proper’ way, so there’s very little way to involve them in conversations about whether or not things could or should be different.
Demons, the ‘chaotic’ outsiders, are those who just refuse the demands of the Devil hierarchy. The planar space of the Hells is its own place, but it’s just like all the other parts of the Abyss; a little chunk of planar space, that links mostly to other equally dangerous places.
Fortunately, because the Devils have an eternal war outside and can maintain something like a civilisation in the space of their own planar space, there’s always an urge, always a need to maintain the hellish demands of the War Machine that justifies the fascist culture they have.
But think about it: How do you know what plane you’re in when you arrive there? What’s the frame of reference? A place is defined by its signifiers, but any system of calibration that tells you Hell is outside the Abyss is always referring to a sort of universe-scale abstraction. Plus when the liars have printing presses and don’t die of natural causes, you have a lot of ways to build a consensus that so strongly resembles facts as to make no difference.
Devils have colonised hell and justified it in the name of constantly waging war on the Abyss from which they were wrought. It gives them a story, it puts them in charge, and nothing needs to change for any given setting based on whether or not this is true, except what you, the storyteller, care about it.
Ok so if Vector is supposed to represent Beelzebub, then what are the other demons that you associate the Barian Emperors with?
ALRIGHT HERE'S WHERE THINGS GET TRICKY since with the other Emperors it's not nearly as clear what Prince of Hell theyre meant to represent as it is with Vector "Alien Beelzebub" Vector Zexal is. And it doesn't help that there isn't even a concrete list of the Seven Princes of Hell either, multiple authors have assembles their own version of the seven over the centuries! So we got a lot of different demons potentially on the field, and a little bit of It Could Be That Deep analysis has gotta be at the ready when considering the rest of Don Thousand's Finest. It's honestly a bit easier to try and maybe equate the remaining Emperors to one of the Seven Deadly Sins and try to work backwards to figure out their hypothetical demonology match from there (since I do very much think it's pretty clear the Barians are meant to parallel the sins on some level too because the Bible simply does not stop with Yugioh Zexal.)
The only other Emperor I feel fairly confident with is Nasch being tied to Leviathan, a pretty consistent member of the demonology 'royal' hierarchy and also, yknow, a fuckin water-associated sea monster! (and the first number we even see in the show is Shark's Leviathan Dragon, after all.) Leviathan's dead sin is Envy, which is maybe not the Most Shark-like, but still interesting to think about with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So that's Beelzebub for Vector and Leviathan for Shark. As for the others, I will posit some guesses:
Mizar: Most likely Lucifer for him... between his almost angelic type looks + having an association with dragons (as does Lucifer in the Bible) + Lucifer being the demon typically associated with pride it seems like it parallels him the best.
Girag: MAAAYBE MAMMON?? Demon who is kind of Just Some Guy but also associated with greed...since in his past life we know Girag would share the spoils of his conquests with the poor there could be some sort of wealth implied connection in there. Hmm...
Alito: Thinking maybe Satan [Prince of Wrath] for him.... his Barian form is even classic devil red which feels like a pretty deliberate choice.
Dumon and Marin/Merag: ok these two I have no real idea on. Marin could maybe be tied to Belphegor, who is sometimes described as taking on the appearance of a young woman??!? But idk. Dumon honestly almost has more in common with Furcas from the Lesser Key of Solomon than some of the more prominent demons. Hmm...
ABADDON(APOLLYON)
Enn:Es na ayer Abaddon avage
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other names:Appolyon, Apollyon, Appolion, Abbadan, Abbaton, Abadon
Originally, Abaddon was a place and not an angel or being. In rabbinic writings and the Old Testament, Abaddon is primarily a place of destruction and a name for one of the regions of Gehenna (see Hell). The term occurs six times in the Old Testament. In Proverbs 15:11 and 27:20, it is named with Sheol as a region of the underworld. In Psalm 88:11, Abaddon is associated with the grave and the underworld.
Abaddon (Apollyon) is the angel of death, destruction, and the netherworld. The name Abaddon is derived from the Hebrew term for “to destroy” and means “place of destruction.” Apollyon is the Greek name.
In magic Abaddon is often equated with Satan and Samael. His name is evoked in conjuring spells for malicious deeds. Abaddon is the prince who rules the seventh hierarchy of demons, the Erinyes, or Furies, who govern powers of, discord, war, and devastation.
In Job 26:6, Abaddon is associated with Sheol. Later, Job 28:22 names Abaddon and Death together, implying personified beings. In Revelation 9:10, Abaddon is personified as the king of the abyss, the bottomless pit of hell. Revelation also cites the Greek version of the name, Apollyon, probably a reference to Apollo, Greek god of pestilence and destruction.
Abaddon destroys false illusions and masks, however once the truth is revealed the foundation of truth is planted. He transforms the energy and core power can rise from the depth of our soul. Abaddon reveals the practitioners core power just as he crushes and destroys. The practitioners courage comes out a destroys the illusions. He is a powerful guide and imitates the journey through the depth of darkness. The journey of the abyss is one of countless trials and lessons. Abaddon is one is an incredible teacher and Advisor and reveals the truth of the dark depth within.
Call upon Abaddon for
⬩Courage
⬩Destroy false illusions
⬩Destroy masks
⬩Transformation
⬩Truth within even ones we don't wish to hear
⬩Ask him what else he will work with you on⬩
Incense:Black Copal, Benzoin, Dragons Blood, Labdanum, Opoponax
⬩Red, black, purple, metallic grey, silver candles or objects
⬩Ask Abaddon what he likes⬩
⬩It is important to learn protections before trying to work with any spirits. You can get tricksters and parasites if you don't.
Cleansings- cleaning your space of negative energies. You can burn herbs or incense for this.
Banishings- forcing negative energies out of your space. The lesser banishing ritual is one of the most commonly used.
Warding- wards keep negative energy out of your space. Amulets, sigils and talismans do this.
Set up a your space and do a cleanse and banishing. Have wards up in your home. Meditation is to calm yourself and get your mind ready. The sigil (symbol) is what you draw on paper. The enn is what you chant or say to call forth the spirit.⬩
WHB Lesser key: Gehenna
Did you wonder how much inspiration they drew from the descriptions of the different demons of the Ars Goetia to create their characters and what that could point towards in terms of personality and powers? I did. You can find each character with it's respective descriptions here, divided by their respective factions.
The main link is this helpful little list of the 72 with summarized descriptions, so it's not an exhaustive list, just an organized one.
Gehenna | Tartaros | Hades | Avisos | Abaddon | Paradise Lost | Niflheim
Sitri
Tumblr media
Sitri (also spelled Bitru, Sytry) is a Great Prince of Hell, and reigns over sixty legions of demons. He causes men to love women and vice versa, and can make people bare themselves naked if desired. He is depicted with the face of a leopard and the wings of a griffin, but under the conjurer's request he changes into a very beautiful man.
This wiki article adds on that he's "dangerously charming", that he "reveals the most intimate secrets of women and gains power over them in doing so" and that he's "one of the darkest entities, and only the most experienced may summon Sitri to speak to him and inquire about the love of someone", and goes on to warn that "you should be careful when invoking the prince, for he likes concentration and is known not only to work with love and lust, but also the feelings of hatred" not sure about it's relevance but eh, interesting enough.
Leraye
Tumblr media
Leraje (also Leraie, Leraikha, Leraye, Loray, Oray) is a mighty Great Marquis of Hell who has thirty legions of demons under his power. He causes great battles and disputes, and makes gangrene wounds caused by arrows. He is depicted as a gallant and handsome archer clad in green, carrying a bow and quiver
Paimon
Tumblr media
Paimon (also Paimonia, Paymon) is one of the Kings of Hell, more obedient to Lucifer than other kings are, and has two hundred legions of demons under his rule. He has a great voice and roars as soon as he comes, speaking in this manner for a while until the conjurer compels him and then he answers clearly the questions he is asked. When a conjurer invokes this demon he must look towards the northwest, the direction of Paimon's house, and when Paimon appears he must be allowed to ask the conjurer what he wishes and be answered, in order to obtain the same from him.
Paimon teaches all arts, philosophies, and sciences, and secret things; he can reveal all mysteries of the Earth, wind, and water, what the mind is, and where it is, and everything the conjurer wants to know. He gives good familiars, dignities and confirms them, and binds men to the conjurer's will.
If Paimon is cited alone, buffering or sacrifice must be done, and he will accept it, though the precise nature of the gift is unclear; then two kings called Beball (Bebal or Labal) and Abalam (Abalim) will go to him together with other spirits, often twenty-five legions; but these other spirits do not always come unless the conjurer calls upon them.
Paimon is depicted as a man with an effeminate face, wearing a precious crown, and riding a dromedary. Before him often goes a host of demons with the shape of men, playing trumpets, cymbals, and any other sort of musical instrument
Boy had a lot of info there
Astaroth
Tumblr media
Astaroth (also Ashtaroth, Astarot and Asteroth) is referred to in The Lesser Key of Solomon as a very powerful demon who commands 40 legions of demons. In art, in the Dictionnaire Infernal, Astaroth is depicted as a nude man with feathered wings, wearing a crown, holding a serpent in one hand, and riding a beast with dragon-like wings and a serpent-like tail. According to Sebastien Michaelis he is a demon of the First Hierarchy, who seduces by means of laziness, vanity, and rationalized philosophies. His adversary is St. Bartholomew, who can protect against him for he has resisted Astaroth's temptations. To others, he teaches mathematical sciences and handicrafts, can make men invisible and lead them to hidden treasures, and answers every question formulated to him. He was also said to give to mortal beings the power over serpents. His name is possibly taken from the goddess Asherah or Astarte.
Zagan
Tumblr media
Zagan (also Zagam) is a Great King and President of Hell, commanding over thirty-three legions of demons. He makes men witty; he can also turn wine into water, water into wine, and blood into wine (according to Pseudomonarchia Daemonum blood into oil, oil into blood, and a fool into a wise man). Other of his powers is that of turning metals into coins that are made with that metal (i.e., gold into a gold coin, copper into a copper coin, etc.). Zagan is depicted as a griffin-winged bull that turns into a man after a while.
Belial
Tumblr media
Belial (also Belhor, Baalial, Beliar, Beliall, Beliel) is listed as the sixty-eighth spirit of The Lesser Key of Solomon. He is a King of Hell with 80 legions of demons and 50 legions of spirits under his command. He was created as the first, after Lucifer. He has the power to distribute senatorships and gives excellent familiars. He must be presented with offerings, sacrifices, and gifts, or else he will not give true answers to demands.
The Spanish wiki provides that he's connected to true independence, self sufficiency, pride, and personal growth. Jhon Milton's Paradise Lost says: that he was worshipped in Sodom but had not effigies built in his honor and that hell hasn't since received someone as dissolute/corrupted, drunk or in love of vice for the sake of vice itself. But that his interior is beautiful, and he is filled with grace and dignity.
It also provides that his name might come from "he of corrupted gains". He's also referred to as: the disobedient, the rebel, lord of arrogance, lord of pride and the son of hell, and impious men are referred to as the children of Belial. Belial is also used as a synonym of Satan.
The English wiki, however, is a mess and I just couldn't understand a word, but Paradise Lost is mentioned.
I’m the anon that sent all those Patreon leaks to lemoncritiques months ago. I’m no longer a patron but I still have tons of info from past QnAs, this isn’t everything so let me know if you’d like me to send more.
Note: These answers are pre-season 2 so it could be dated with whatever Vivzie’s has said after mid-2022 (the time of my latest screenshots) I’ll try and give info I wasn’t interested in giving Lemon but it could be a lot of repeats.
-Vivzie didn’t mention Mammon’s design to be a middle finger (from what I know) she only mentioned being worried about the reception fans will have towards him since he’s not the usual skinny pretty boy designs she makes.
-Certain demons are allowed to interact with the Earth realm, imps aren’t one of them.
-Millie and Loona are confirmed by Vivzie to be straight much to the disappointment of Sam, Adam mentioned they’re as straight as LGBTQ+ writers can make them.
-Stolas has 71 half siblings in reference to the lesser keys of Solomon, it’s unknown if Andrealphus is one of them but with that amount Vivzie might only show some of them.
-Vivzie is still interested in making her SVA thesis short Timber a full series, and plans for it to be an all age adventure fantasy.
-HB cast ages: Blitz 34, Stolas 36, Loona 23, M&M both 31, Vivzie changed them to be around those ages because she keeps forgetting them she’s answered this more than once with slightly different answers, M&M are now in their late 20s.
-Vivzie is fine with and even loves fan HH/HB merch, but believes the other studios involved (A24, Bento, or SharkRobot, she was vague) might not because of sale competition.
-Vivzie saids we’ll see how Stolas’s status influences his views of other demons and wouldn’t treat his imp butlers either good or bad. This was said before he’s seen using one as a stress ball.
-Vivzie didn’t really think of how Stolas knew IMP was in trouble in the DHORK episode and likes to imagine he has an innate ability to sense if something’s wrong. She won’t go back to explain how he knows.
-She’s interested in incorporating elements of other religion’s Hell into her own, but not a full on inclusion.
-She’s most excited between Stolas and Blitz’s arcs in the show and admits the arcs intersects a lot. Her personal favorite arc to write is Stolas’s.
-Blitz’s trip in the DHORK episode were about his relationships and how they stem from one insecurity he has which will be revealed later.
-Most challenging character to animate that Vivzie could talk about at the time was Angel Dust, I’m sure she would have mentioned Bee if that episode was out during this.
-Full quote “Viv’s ADHD enables her to bounce around between things a lot, it’s been a blessing because she can bounce between the shows if she gets tired of either. Sometimes it gets overwhelming, causing her to lose focus, and losing sleep, but it’s working in the end”
-Vivzie didn’t know model sheets weren’t being posted on Patreon when someone asked about Mrs.Mayberry’s, I have no idea if they’ve even bothered to post any.
-She was keeping Stolas and Stella’s divorce a secret due to spoilers.
-Originally, season 2 was going to premiere a week after episode 8 came out because she wasn’t sure if fans would be satisfied with the finale with the wait time, I saved that ask on May 22nd, 2022. She vaguely mentioned there was a bit of legal trouble regarding episode 8 that she can’t talk about but will become apparent when it’s released (We now know it was the Kesha stuff)
-High class/low class demon relationships are very controversial because Hell has a strict power hierarchy. There are some lower level demons that are acceptable to be with a higher class demon. But Imps and Hellhounds are on the very bottom of the hierarchy and are not favorably viewed. (This ask was pre-Episode 8)
-Full quote again. Question: Would you have any advice for artists who are working on multiple projects at the same time?
Answer: “It's really fucking hard, she's never worked so hard in her life. She admits she's dropped the ball several times. But she finds that the solution to that is to simply get help from other people. Find people you trust and train them on what they need to do.
If it's a smaller scale thing and/or you don't have any body to help, then just take things slowly and do things one at a time because you will absolutely stress yourself out and cause a lot of problems with things not getting done on time.
She has also had issues with things not going the way she wanted because she's not in charge, but ultimately, you gotta trust others.”
-Octavia is on decent terms with Andrealphus.
-Sinners physically cannot go into other rings, Vivzie imagines they can’t even enter the 666 elevator building.
-All hellborns have a “feral” form to themselves.
-Blitz will sing in season 2 (We learned from leaks)
-God will not show up in Vivzie’s shows, she personally doesn’t feel comfortable depicting him.
-She enjoys writing at home because she can be as loud as she wants to be. But ever since her and Adam moved in together they haven’t have any writing sessions with each other. While writing HB season 1, her and Brandon would go to diners and café for their sessions.
-She loves how her antagonists are relatable and can be understood beyond what she’s shown the audience so far and mentions they won’t be one note, one dimensional like with Stella. “Sure, she’s super angry and bitchy, but st the same time, she’s still seen some awful things, and deserves some sympathy” (This was pre-Circus)
-All that Vivzie would like to say is she doesn’t talk to Ashley, Dave or Kovach a lot.
-She hasn’t worked on Zoophobia in awhile but thinks of going back to it to redefine some things in the future.
-There’s a limited number of overlords, there was a comic in the works about how overlords are picked through a “very fun” event that happens to sinners but due to story changes they’ll have to redo it. Don’t know if it was scrapped entirely.
-Stella would still be mad if Stolas cheated on her with another goetia or of higher status but less so than with an imp.
-Vivzie imagines the grimoire can be damaged but not easily.
-Adam has written in an autistic character for season 2, no clue if we’ve already seen them or not.
-Most of season 2 will have a single target to take out on IMP’s missions.
-She wants to leave the status of Blitz and Fizz’s past relationship open for now, we might see it in the next episode as of sending this.
-That clown symbol we see in Loo Loo Land is confirmed to be RoboFizz and not Mammon.
-Vivzie can’t answer if Heaven, Hell or Earth is the most dangerous realm.
-Full quote: Question- “When did she decide to make Helluva its own spin off?
Answer- “She decided within the last year of making the pilot. Without Helluva, Hazbin wouldn't exist,and vice versa. They helped the studio, the crew,and Viv, giving her experience to produce professionally.
Helluva also came to be because she was watching a lot of Brandon Roger's stuff while working on Hazbin, and so she decided to reach out to people he works with and pitch her project to him. And he accepted it, and the rest is history! She was shocked that Brandon Rogers accepted her pitch incredibly fast, asking to write with her immediately after accepting her pitch.
Brandon wrote the outline, and the jokes. But it was up to Viv to finish the rest. It was the first time she worked with someone who had a decent amount of writing experience; the people she wrote the Hazbin pilot with were all novice writers, including Viv herself.
Another unique thing about Helluva was that she got a bunch of animators for it early on because there was this mass resignation of animators from a bad project, so she was able to pick them up. Those helluva animators also enabled the hazbin pilot to be finished!”
-HH will not feature purgatory and will only deal with heaven and hell’s relationship, while HB is exclusively about the seven sins and hellborns. Vivzie has an idea for a third show involving heaven and earth’s relationship featuring purgatory but doesn’t know when she’ll start development on it, it’s something she’d further develop once HH and HB are done.
-A lot of broadway actors are involved with HH and HB and Vivzie is generally trying to cast people involved with broadway and theatre. She’s aware she was only able to get people like Alex Brightman thanks to the pandemic. There’s mention of a non broadway VA in Vivzie and Brandon’s view is a pretty big figure voicing in season 2.
-Cherubs will return, along with a lot of other season 1 characters like Verosika and Sallie May will be involved in one season 2 episode, She’ll have a bigger role in far future.
-Goetia from the lesser keys like Stolas, Paimon and Andrealphus are considered higher rank, original characters like Stella and Octavia are lower rank but still considered “royalty”
-Stella is confirmed to be a swan
-Stolas is confirmed to be a barn owl (I think it’s the same species Vivzie has taxidermed)
-Hell has an army but haven’t been needed to do anything, Vivzie saids they just have one because a it’s normal thing.
-As of right now, the sins are only set to appear to HB with Lucifer only set for HH, it may change in the future.
-There’s no connection between HH and HB other than they take place in the same universe. HH’s narrative is more on what’s good and evil and what makes people become good or bad and heaven and hell. HB is just about hellborn and hellborn society and the business that goes on in hell, but like the Office, it’s more about the people involved in the business than the business itself.
-Travel time between rings depend on where they go like a plane ride but it wouldn’t take too long.
-Vivzie tried to give Fizz and Oz masc and femme energies since they’re going to be seen together a lot.
-Hellborn lifespans vary between species, imps and hellhounds have similar lifespan which is why they’re paired together. Succubi and incubi are slightly longer than imps and demons like dealmakers are almost immortal. Higher up you get the harder it is for someone to die.
-Angel dust still has his third pair of arms
-Angel dust is Vivzie’s favorite HH character to write (shocking)
-We won’t see how M&M met til further along the show, there’s no confirmation if it’ll be in season 2.
-RoboFizz are considered a high-end product in hell.
-we’ll see more of Verosika’s claim to fame later.
-Vivzie’s favorite episode to write in season 1 was episode 7 because it was her first one to write solo. She also likes episode 6 calling it a penultimate episode for season 1.
Well, first of all, thank you for all of this, Anon! Second of all, where to even begin?
I just can't get over how all the glimmers of the show's writing improving in season 2 (focusing more on the targets I.M.P. takes out, Stella being shown in a sympathetic light, etc.) didn't even happen. And the fact that Vivzie got her first round of animators by snatching them up from a bad project, and brags about that, knowing what we know now about Spindlehorse's working environment.
Also "masc and femme energy." Jesus Christ, Vivzie.
It's a mess. It's just such a tangled, poorly planned mess.
DEMONS
demons are servants of arcadius who follow his agenda as both his emissaries as well as torturers of the souls in hell. created from the accumulated misery and darkness born of the destruction of human souls, demons are universally malign and immoral in their actions and dealings. they are feared largely due to their power to possess living creatures. demons are also known to work on the personal level, animating and exploiting the greed and selfishness within individuals in order to manipulate them into contributing to evil and the destruction of humankind. humans, animals, and even supernatural beasts that roam the earth tend to be wary of demons, as the infernal creatures are known for their proclivity to engage in cruel and malicious attacks on any lifeform they believe to be weak and vulnerable.
demons can procreated with other demons and with human women. with how many demons are in hell, it most likely that either breed or are born in hell's environment.
demons may or may not also be considered to be devils: minions of the devil. in many traditions, demons are independent operators, with different demons causing different types of evils (destructive natural phenomena, specific diseases, etc.). in religions featuring a principal devil (e.g. satan) locked in an eternal struggle with good, demons are often also thought to be subordinates of the principal devil. as lesser spirits doing the devil's work, they have additional duties— causing humans to have sinful thoughts and tempting humans to commit sinful actions.
belief in demons remains an important part of many modern religions and occult traditions. demons are still feared largely due to their alleged power to possess living creatures.
POWERS AND ABILITIES
SUMMONING: because of their inherent physical and mystical abilities, most known demons view themselves as superior to humans, and as such wish to rule over them. despite this, demons can be summoned and even controlled through magic, though this is highly dangerous. demons with a strong enough will is capable of either shattering the control the conjurer has over them, or twisting the conjuration spell in order to summon the would be conjurer to their demonic realm instead. some demons themselves have demonstrated the ability to conjure other demons, whether it be as reinforcements against the forces of good, or in order to summon some higher ranking demon in order to slay it and usurp its position within the demonic hierarchy.
POSSESSION. demons are particularly infamous for their ability to possess mortal vessels,. descriptions of possessions often include convulsions, fits of violence, and levitation, while other descriptions include the possessed individual having access to hidden knowledge (gnosis) and foreign languages (glossolalia), drastic changes in vocal intonation and facial structure, the sudden appearance of injuries (scratches, bite marks) or lesions, and superhuman strength. while an individual is possessed, their soul remains trapped within their own mind, imprisoned by some inner struggle that the demonic entity has managed to exploit in order to gain entry. to break free from possession, the person must be able to face their own inner fears and struggles so that they may expel the demon that has taken control. those who are strengthened in their convictions are able to repel a possession.
