some more ideas in the continuing saga of “perhaps i will write crack of chase and/or thirteen calling house dad”:

chase calls house “dad” completely accidentally. total freudian slip

after the whole ordeal, chase thinks house is actually going to let it go and not bring it up again because it was awkward for him, too. until house calls chase “son” a few days later and then smiles the most shit-eating grin at him

thirteen calls house “dad” sarcastically and on purpose to annoy house

thirteen makes jokes with chase about house being his/their dad to tease him after chase has his slip up

thirteen once calls house “mom” without realizing it and gets incredibly flustered when it’s pointed out

wilson laughs hysterically when he finds out about all of this but also thinks chase’s fruedian slip was endearing/sweet

house bitches about having them act like his kids, and wilson tells him he walked right into it with all of the running comments about them being his ducklings

jokes about wilson being their stepdad

jokes about cuddy being their stepmom

just way too many jokes that thirteen and house find hilarious and make chase want to hide in a closet

“i wish i had never called you dad in the first place” -chase, to house after being teased on and off for weeks straight (he doesn’t mean it)

“hey! show your father figure some respect!” -foreman, probably, in response

deep in the depths of docs garage, there is a box of cameras.

theyre old, some of them still loaded with film, the rest of them empty — their photos have been moved to photo albums buried elsewhere — probably in the shed.

doc was never a big photography man himself, but the odd time he did find himself with a camera, after a race win and he had some extra money to spend, or when he was gifted one by the media, he found himself enjoying taking pictures, even if he forgot about those cameras and they ended up with the rest of his forgotten things by the end of it.

some of the cameras in that box have names scribbled on the bottom in marker. Louise Nash in a thick black font that stands out on the silver base. lou loved her photography, each of them were given cameras full of film, yet to be developed, but always just photos of them. it was her endearing love language to her friends — catching their happiest moments and making sure they knew how beautiful they looked.

lightning finds this box, he pulls it out and he studies each of the cameras. he shows them to cal, who knows a bit more about photography than he does, and together they learn about the film inside. cal points out how one of them still has a small amount of film left, and that these old cameras didnt need batteries or chargers, just flash cubes.. which just so happened to be in the bottom of the box.

so, using one of the ancient cameras in docs collection, theres a reel of film that shares a picture of a substitute father in victory lane in 1953, standing on the roof of his car with the stars dancing above him in the night sky, and theres that of a son, too standing on his car in victory lane, only this time in 2008, with the sun setting behind him and confetti falling around him. the pictures fall right beside each other on the reel.

Some Random (Humanized) Cars Headcanons

-Lightning grew out his hair for like six years and then one day just cut it super short.

-Everyone in Radiator Springs lost their minds when he walked in like that.

-He is also the blondest blond man you will ever meet.

-Sally is Hispanic and you can't convince me otherwise. I mean Carrera? Come on now.

-Whenever Lightning, Sally, and Cruz go somewhere just the three of them, people tell Cruz she looks like her mom.

-"But you've got your dad's freckles though!"

-This has made Cruz cry in public multiple times.

-(Sally and Lightning won't admit it, but they've teared up a little too.)

-Lightning's real name is Andrew, but Sally is the only one who knows.

-I feel like Jackson would be Japanese, idk just vibes.

-He's also the biggest mama's boy.

-He's got this thing where he doesn't touch fans in pictures.

-One time Cruz took a picture with him after a race with her arm around his shoulders.

-Fans were speculating for days about whether his personal rule extended to other racers or if Cruz was just special.

-That led to dating rumors.

-"It's the only picture on the internet of him touching another person. There's gotta be something going on!"

-They never addressed any of so it kind of died down.

-At Lightning's last race before Doc died, they took a picture together with his trophy.

-It's hanging in the garage with all the other Doc stuff.

-At some point, Lightning and Cruz take one that is super similar to the other.

-Somehow it gets hung up next to the original picture. (It was Sally)

-This is more of a fic idea, but I've always thought at their ages a lot of Lightning's racing buddies probably have kids that are teenager/young adults.

-So when he would invite the group to Radiator Springs in the off-season, they would bring their kids to hangout to.

-Cruz would get super friendly with all of them and take them racing.

-This probably led to a group of kids dying to become second generation racers.

- Knowing Lightning and his friends, they would eat this up. Taking all of them to train with them. (I mean wouldn't it be so cool if there was a whole group of first and second generation racers. ((Second and third in Lightning and Cruz's case. (((I will be pushing my Doc-Lightning-Cruz father-son/father-daughter agrnda.)))

- My HCs on ships are: Lightning and Sally (That's probably pretty obvious), Cal and Bobby (I've seen this a couple times and everyone's always been really chill about it), Cruz and Jackson (I've been growing super into this one for some reason), and Cruz and Natalie Certain (Not as big on this one, I've seen it a few times and thought it was alright).

Late night lightning and doc dynamic brain rot…

Lightning wakes up late during an international racing trip. This probably wouldn’t be the most uncommon thing since he seems like a VERY heavy sleeper (see: entire first movie’s plot happened because he managed to sleep roll out of his trailer) and it causes chaos as usual.

That day isn’t a race day, but it is an important interview/PR photo shoot/various other important not racing things day. He zips around the hotel/rental place they are staying at trying to get ready for the day. Meanwhile, Doc sits in the eye of the storm, chill as usual, seemingly just enjoying his coffee and letting Lightning make a mess of the place.

Later in the day, during a quiet moment while the photographers change the set, Lightning complains about the fact he’s hungry but forgot to grab a lunch. He and the other racers taking part in the photoshoot try to figure where he can grab a quick bite the eat with the scarce time he has but draw blanks.

Doc then appears out of nowhere and hands Lightning a packed lunch in one of those classic brown paper bags. He knew he Lightning would forget to pack something in the morning rush and didn’t want him to go hungry.

Lightning is then (lovingly) teased by everyone else for the next couple months because he’s so predictable that his dad crew chief knew to pack him a lunch

im tired of wolverine being all cool in movies let him be a loser dad who's trying his best w his daughters-sisters & a son who hates his guts but also loves him (& the other, alternate reality son who turned out just like him but hes blonde). oh & one of his sons' gf is sick of his shit & she also has DID so the whole system is sick and tired of logan being a loser dad & want him to do better.

i need that as a tv show.
