i just wanna point out that, like. it's okay to disagree with the main character. just because they're the pov of the story doesn't mean they're infallible or that their word is law? you can like that character that tried to kill the mc. you can think the mc made the wrong choice. you can forgive things that the mc would never forgive, or choose not to forgive things that the mc does, because you're not the main character. you are the reader of the story, and just because you can't change it (and it's not the author's responsibility to capitulate to fans) doesn't mean you can't form your own opinions about it. it's fictional! that's the point! have fun with it!!

He could be anyone you wanted him to be! At all! If that’s what it takes for him to be yours, he’d do it in a heartbeat!

(I have brought this up before lmao) Would absolutely be down to try and cosplay any character you aggressively rave about to Moth.

While he absolutely detests Moth for being the one that you go to with this stuff, he can’t deny that it's useful for him to tap into the call, mute Moth on his own end and listen to you go on and on about whatever you’re rambling about at the moment.

Your voice is so pretty, like a canary… Birds remind him of freedom in some way, some days Ren would like to keep you captive, hide you away from the world.

But then he looks at himself in the mirror and he sees his father stare back.

And it is the worst feeling in all of Corland Bay.

He hums to himself, listening to you talk on and on to Moth but can’t help and think, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if I was the only one they ever sang to?’ and it sends Ren into a spiral of dark thoughts he immediately dry heaves at.

He’s trying so hard to focus on your melodic tone before he pants over the sink, body shaking. No, no, no, no.

No. He is not psychopathic. You are not something he can own. You are not his. That is not his decision. You have your voice. You are your own person.

“Hey, you alright?” Your calming voice shakes him out of his stupor. Of course, it did. It helped him get through nightmares, through hungover evenings where he just wanted to be with you, past his job when he felt demotivated.

Subconsciously, he knew you were just talking to Moth, but he couldn’t help but respond. “Y-yeah. I think so.”

“Mm, I feel that.”

Wow, maybe if he squinted, the two of you could be having a conversation! If it wasn’t for that lingering thought of his bastard dad, he would’ve been giggling on the couch, kicking his feet and twirling his hair.

You sighed and chuckled at whatever Moth had replied. “No, I am not a huge nerd. I simply have good taste. Oh yeah, remember how I told you about that one skater boy–” and your voice faded to background noise again.

Ren took a couple deep breaths to calm himself. He wasn’t his sperm donor, he’d be better. For you.

And the rest of his nights would be spent, adoringly adding to your shrine and his collection of your items.

Then he would lay in bed, clutching a pillow, wishing it were you he had to cuddle with but could settle for the plush, soft object until he finally won you over.

(personal headcanon that ren has one of those like, duck filled pillows he hugs instead of his stuffed toys which he leaves on display. Sometimes all the body parts just get in the way and he just wants to hug something soft… :(( like you :(( )

It was isekai-ed reader (kinda or sort off) like the reader is a witch and had read RoR, her favorite is Beelzebub. She hope she can went to RoR universe at least wanted to hug her bias once. But what she get is... she got asthraled (forgot the word. It was like your soul or ghost someshort of spiritual come to another place but you are kinda invisible and cannot be harmed since you are ghost and all.) instead you fall down to Poseidon lap.

Ror Poseidon of course angered and threw trident at you, only for it to just flew through you and you are unharmed. Unfortunately for both of you, you seems stuck with him because you try to get away or him get away it always end with you being dragged by force to him. He is very annoyed by not only because you are human but also because you insistent on wanting to meet Beelzebub. You both banter daily and all.

He grow fond of you, and deep down scared if you will suddenly move back or meet Beelzebub as he know your love for the flies (lowkey he though you are in love with the devil and not love him as a fans). And the day came where Poseidon cross with Beelzebub and he find himself so jealous at how you fawning over Beelzebub resulted in his very first argument with you and you huff and the reader having enough just kiss him... only to find herself go through him. Come the fluffy live between you two. The reader love teasing Poseidon who act as if he is not affected on outside but when it was only two of them, he is a big cuddler and softy.

Poseidon × isekai-ed!witch!reader

You find yourself scrolling through your phone, reading the newest chapters of record of Ragnarok, your all time favourite manga. Or maybe just something you read to pass the time, whatever. You fawned and giggled over your favourite character, specifically, Beelzebub. Poor baby, you wanted to give him a hug and kiss his face all over, since he didn't deserve any of this.

You so wanted to go there, but that was impossible. Your worlds were completely different, and he was fictional. He wasn't real. Or so you thought.

When you went to bed that night, your final thoughts being your bias, you suddenly open your eyes again, this time, the surroundings were different. It was all so colorful, like you were being sucked into a portal that led to someplace else.

"is this a dream?" You mumbled, before suddenly, you dropped, letting out a little squeak, looking up. Then...you saw the face of an angered god, who was just as surprised as you. But more pissed tho.

You landed on the lap of the tyrant of the sea, Poseidon. Great, just your luck. What the hell and how the hell did you end up on his lap? You couldn't even process when he took his trident.

You floated away, letting out little panicked sounds, as he got up, throwing it at you, only for it to pas through you, as you looked at him wide eyed. "Mortal, who do you think you are to commit such an act towards a god?"

When he heard your explanation, he let out a "tch" deciding to stop, before ordering you to leave, which you gladly did so. Well, that didn't go so well for you. With a magnetic force, your body was brought back to Poseidon, who looked at you like you just called him a bitch and slapped him in the face.

"I told you to leave."

"if you can see, I am struggling to!"

You recall reading a book about things like these, and you then start to connect the dots, coming to a conclusion that your soul had been transported to a completely different world, while your physical body was back in the other.

You and Poseidon tried to part ways, but no matter what you did, you kept being forced back to him. As mucha s he wanted to believe that you were faking it, you really looked like your were upset and struggling badly. So now he was just stuck with you.

At first, he found you annoying, the way you'd just float around while he walked, his movements always being watched by the little ghost on his ass, man this was a pain. You were a pathetic human, and your whines to meet Beelzebub were so irritating. But all that was passed him. It slowly came to him that he grew fond of you, he found himself entertained by watching you float around stupidly, and just be on his back all day, begging him to go near an ice cream truck so you could eat something tasty.

But when those thoughts came over him, another thought presented itself. What if you broke free from him, and set out to find Beelzebub? That, that really wasn't a nice thought. But the day came where by absolute luck, he walks passed Beelzebub, and he immediately looked behind him to find you squealing and fawning over the lord of the flies.

Poseidon had many fan girls, so why couldn't you have just been one of them? Before you could get near Beelzebub, Poseidon immediately distanced himself from the god, forcing you with him, making you pout and whine.

That was his last straw.

You were his now. So why do you look at other guys like that? It's obvious that you were sent to him for a reason. That resulted in an argument between the both of you. Before you finally had enough and decided to kiss him. You didn't know why, but your body acted on its own, what's worse is that you passed through him, as he stared at you with wide eyes, slowly calming himself. Before telling you to touch him.

You were confused, and still embarrassed, before you touched him, his body slowly turning spirit like, just like you. He had read about it before, and knew exactly what he was dealing with. And now that he knew the side effects, and everything else, he went over and kissed you, kissing you with so much passion. Knowing that nobody could see both of you. And from there, you both started a relationship.

The effects wore off, and he became a touchable and physical being once more. Looking at you, and then softly speaking. "You're mine now. Understand? That's an order."

Your heart beemed, you knew you loved beelzebub..but this exchange with Poseidon had completely altered your way of thinking.

He's not so bad after all...

1. Identifying BSD characters as Queer, is not problematic. STOP being so Heteronormative. Gay characters are not gonna kill you.

If I see another "BuT tHe ChArAcTeRs nEvEr SaId tHeY aRe GaY" I would bomb you 💣/j

2. Skk/SSKK/Fyolai/other popular ships, exist because people like it. If you don't ship them, don't engage with their content. Not all shippers act crazy and toxic. Stop blaming everything on shippers.

3. Atsushi/Kyouka is problematic, stop justifying it with "only 4 year age gap". Kyouka is a CHILD, ship her with Kenji if you want. Atsushi, like a normal 18 year old would never look at a highschool freshman and date her. Even if they date in the future, he knew her when she was younger and they had a sibling like dynamic. Lucy is a way better love interest to Atsushi (Don't know if this is an unpopular opinion tho, but I saw some people justifying it 😐😐😐)

4. DAZAI IS NOT EVIL. HE IS FAR FROM EVIL. He is, despite being super popular and the face of BSD, the most mischaracterized and villified character. Morally grey characters exist??!!!

5. Mori is a way worse person than Dazai ever was.

6. PM members get a free pass for any heinous crime they commit by being hot or babygirl-ified (still love them tho, we do not often discuss how bad their actions have been, you can like criminals and acknowledge they are criminals in fiction. I would add DoA to this too, but it's worse with the PM)

7. Akutagawa's abuse of Kyouka shouldn't be forgotten just because Dazai abused Akutagawa.

8. Mori emotionally manipulated and abused Dazai when he was a teen. Just because it wasn't physical, doesn't mean it was nothing.

9. Atsushi is NOT a soft boy, he is way bitter, salty and sarcastic than we give him credit

10. Poe is important to Ranpo and their friendship/relationship is wholesome as hell

11. Ranpo and Yosano's friendship is way better than them being in a relationship in the future

12. FukuFuku is better than Fukumori (imo!!!!)

13. Buying real authors work after watching BSD is actually a really good thing, since more Gen z kids (or other people) will read classics

14. There are layers to Atsushi and Akutagawa relationship/rivalry, and they have the MOST important relationship (not meaning romantic, just in general) in the entire canon.

15. Kunikida and Yosano could be a power couple

16. Fyodor is not a great villain (yet)

17. Nikolai CARRIES the DoA

18. Sigma shouldn't be in the ADA, he needs a happy home, family and some time to adjust to normal life

19. Q and Elise are both underused characters and could become a great dynamic

20. Ango deserves more love, the amount of pressure and stress he deals with is INSANE

21. It's OKAY if everyone joins the fandom for Dazai or skk (I did at first too!!)

22. Higuchi is annoying as hell. I do not get her hype, I like her but not as much as most people (just personal opinion, do not flame me 😭)

23. Everyone in The Guild is forgettable or boring (except Fitzgerald, Poe and Lucy. I like Louisa, but I forget her all the time)

24. Hetero ships are just not that great/interesting in BSD to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ (except maybe AtsuLucy or rare pairs) and female characters are not best utilised, I wish they play more major roles (can't wait for Agatha to arrive!!)

25. Some fan theories/arts get the story better than "canon" stuff at times. Fanon is NOT always the worst (sometimes enjoyable when the canon gets too dark or sad)

26. Toxic ships are okay in fiction as long as they are legal. Humans like toxic things, we consume it like junk food 💅🏻

oh shit! my door! it's been off for three weeks! (which is to say, wowza! i'm late, life got hectic and i didn't have it in me for a while!)

ichi being gokuraku's little purse dog/backpack cat is definitely in my top three things abt their relationship so far! it speaks of a level of instant ease that i often find missing in fictional friendships (and tells me things abt both characters which is always nice and rewarding!)

and i've said it before but i'll say it again: kumugi really embodies that overworked, underpaid grad-student/intern vibe, i feel for her soooo much. (dess made her own can of worms tho)

i find it very nice that i get to answer this after the current chapter, given that this is turning into a gokuraku angst fest where he's set up to fail to protect his adored elder sister (i do believe they could've introduced it better, as the whole "flower petal framed kiss on the hand with blushing faces" thing comes off as weirdly romantic, but the rest of their interactions were just sweet and endearing, gokuraku truly and really loves his sister most of all).

so it's an interesting thread of contrast to me! where the rowdy little brother is failing to protect his gentle big sister.

that said, i haven't had the chance to talk about it, but i find the way gokuraku is robbed of his status as a child both in text and in metatext one of the (to me personally) most fun things this arc! he's younger than richia who cannot be over 17-18, and yet everyone refers to him with "man"! he's the designated fanservice character! there's weird sexualization going on! i don't know what to do with this but it's definitely there and compels me.

i see the trial going three ways: 1) richia accepts the challenge but fails, causing great anguish, 2) richia raises to the challenge and succeeds, probably thanks to gokuraku's (and maybe ichi's) help and support through her suffering, and 3) bakugami, gooner that they are, notices just how much of whm is on ichi and has their little tantrum about it then challenges ichi.

out of the three i think the 1st one is least likely, as it's a bit too dark for what we've had so far (tho maybe not, given the zombie hallucinations of the latest chapter), and i find the remaining two equally compelling. the 2nd because i love my ensemble casts and i think this would be a touching and emotionally fulfilling conclusion to this stage of gokuraku's arc and the 3rd bc i think it'd provide us with a fascinating look into ichi's seemingly stunted emotions. that boy is capital "T" Traumatized™ and i've been waiting with popcorn ready to get some insight into that since we met him.

but yeah!! this series seems to like its contrasts and compliments, and i'm very much here for it all.

How did Jane Austen shape fan fiction?

HI HELLO YAY SOMEONE ASKED

by god i could go on and on here and i WILL.

so, to nip it in the bud; Austen didn't yknow, pioneer the novel or romance. There was a lot of very strong female writers around her time (Eliza Haywood, Charlotte Lennox, Fanny Burney (biggest female novelist of her time, massive influence for Austen), Maria Edgeworth, I'll get onto this later) BUT she is the reason we have a lot of romance tropes.

Prior to her, in the 18th century, it was moreso that romance was a very masculine genre; Barbara Fuchs writes “A tale inverse, embodying the adventures of some hero of chivalry, esp. Of those of the great cycles of medieval legend, and belong both in matter and form to the ages of knighthood; also, in later use, a protale of a similar character” and she's not wrong at all. Women were the prize - even if they were married or whatever, it was about being worthy of the woman. Things would happen to the women and the man would handle it. On top of that, the perfect man and the perfect woman would meet; then it would just happen and they'd just get together, the bad get punished. The end, yay.

But Austen shifted things away from men; mainly because she was concerned about the inner workings of women, because she wouldn't know what male only spaces were like. In her time, you were so rarely alone with a man. If you were lucky, you'd dance with him at a party or be in the same room as a man with your entire family So of course she only spoke about what happened in female-centric spaces. Okay, i'm getting off topic. Whoops- Though Austen does this thing where she brings the romance forward as the primary of the novel, instead of a subplot. Everything else happens in the background, while the romance and interpersonal relationships are brought to the forefront - just like a lot of fanfic!

She was also so concerned with the growth of characters. Before her, it was often that characters were one thing throughout the whole novel. In Pride and Prejudice, Lizzie fucks up again and again - she trusts the wrong person, says the wrong thing. Lydia runs away! Mr Darcy continually insults Lizzie! It's awesome. Because they all grow and change and develop. On top of that, the bad aren't always punished - Mr Wickham, Mrs Bennet and so forth are complex enough as characters that there's no... like, holy retribution. It's great. (Sorry, I really like Pride and Prejudice right now, it's on the brain.) Is that not such an inherently fic-y thing to do? Flesh out characters solely because we can?

Now, in regards to the other female authors; yes, they all were pioneers in their own right, and not acknowledging that makes this a farce. But this is about Austen, so i'm not going to go on abt them. Interestingly, the title of Pride and Prejudice is pulled from the end of Cecila by Fanny Burney - which cmon. we ALL do that, pulling titles from other words! It's great!

Also, Austen was funny. She was sarcastic and tongue and cheek - she's not someone you just read at face value. One of her most famous lines is -

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

We all know it. But good lord is it sarcastic. Try reading it out loud, stressing a different part each time and it'll click that she is not serious at all. And in context of the novel - Mr Bingley and Mr Darcy aren't in Meryton for wives but to buy houses. She's a sarcastic little shit. Also, while it's not something we pick up on, the carriages she gives people are super specific - like, she men carriages who where dicks like… the teslas of their time lmao

AND. AND. Free indirect discourse. It's thee most written form of fanfiction. You cannot prove me wrong. Now what is free indirect discourse? Mm? It's third person where you go into the eyes of a character! Woo! One of the best examples is from Emma when she writes

"Why was it so much worse that Harriet should be in love with Mr. Knightley than with Frank Churchill? Why was the evil so dreadfully increased by Harriet’s having some hope of a return? It darted through her with the speed of an arrow that Mr. Knightley must marry no one but herself!"

It's that well-worn and loved writing form where we get to see things omnisiently, but also feel how characters process things. I love that this is essentially the Austen ver. of "Oh. Oh." It's great.

Look, Austen is great. She doesn't write about aristocrats and unrelatable people who are no more than moral summaries. Sure, it's not to say this wasn't done before her, but she popularised and did a lot of things that were only really acknowledged after her. I just really love her and how her writing style became so influential on writing and how we can see echoes of her throughout nearly every piece of fictional literature after her. All fanfiction is how it is because of Austen, whether or not it is romance or not.

Hi guys, it's me again, here to give my 2 cents on a another fandom.

Now, I felt the need to do this because as I pleasantly scroll through some Jarley content, I see 'Shipping a toxic couple is gross' 'Jarley is weird' 'Their not even together anymore' (If I could find the original post, I would so tag whoever made it because TODAY I CHOOSE VIOLENCE'

This literally might be my first ever (Omg they're so cute together as a kid. THis is my childhood right here. Jarley. Now, I respect and love her and Ivy as much as the next, but as a child, I didn't see the toxicity and the violence of Jarley, all I saw was my favorite cartoon villians, and it's just carried along to who I am now.

The main flaw about this is that THIS. IS. FICTION. Not even like, Game of Thrones or King of the Hill fiction. THIS SHIT WAS ORIGINALLY MEANT FOR FUCKING KIDS! Mf an 8 year old don't gaf abt or know about no abuse and shit. (Unless they come from that type of household, in which cases I completely respect that) Like, it's no reason that people should be this pressed over CHARACTERS that you literally can write them to act different. The writers of DC comics decided that 'Hey, this is how we want Joker, and he's never gonna change or treat Harley right' They could just as easily wrote it another way, henceforth, fanfic writers writing it a different way.

It's not about them being toxic it's about them matching each others' freaks. Everyone acts like Harley isn't fucking insane either like be so fr. She was gonna break eventually either way. The freakyness is rooted deep down inside her fr fr.

I personally/secretly wish their relationship was more like Cleo and Deuce from Monster High (Yes, I'm comparing them to someone again, I can't think of anyone else rn) Where; Yes, the Joker is mainly still and evil shitty Batman-obsessive weirdo, but he was always nice to Harley, and Harley was just like "Radical dude" (Lmaoooo) But in all seriousness, a plot where they both mutual respect each other, make realistic mistakes and hurt each other, but work it out in the end would have been great.

But I love the fact that the writers touched on the topic of abuse. I feel like not enough comics/media or anybody really talks about things women go through, or they romanticize it. I don't think anyone who ships Jarley wants to take away from what she went through. You can love them together and still not like what The Joker did to her. These feelings don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Hi, As I've said before (and I'm going to quote myself from older posts here quite a lot, if you happen to come across them 😉 ), I'm fine with both pairings as long as it's well written. I guess a lot of fans lean towards preferring what they grew up with and such like. I'm old enough to have started reading Batman when the idea of another Robin than Dick Grayson was ludicrous, and read the NTT in my slightly older teens. So I definitely have a nostalgic feeling for Dick/Kory.

I think they worked well because they were so different; they each learned from the other and grew as people. Being with Kory helped Dick become more emotionally open after some ten years of growing up with Bruce and Alfred. In NTT # 26, he talks about how he is too introspective and that Batman taught him to be guided by his head, not his heart. And in turn, I'd say Kory learned not always to be ruled by her emotions, and Dick helped to ground her on Earth. They had their fair share of problems, one obstacle was their different approach to relationships and sex. While Starfire is fine with being married to another guy, for reasons of state, but live with Dick, it takes Dick quite some time to come to terms with that he loves Kory enough to get over that. Dick and Kory were one of the most stable and loving couples in DC for over ten years. Now, in superhero comics, writers and/or editoral make the rules. There were plans to let them get married, but as far as I remember a change of editorial led to that being scrapped. We got Dick being raped by Mirage instead, and eventually, the couple split up. Disregarding that, I think you could very well see them growing apart. They were young when they started dating. I guess they were a couple for two-three years? At that age, it's not unreasonable to think they developed in ways that made them decide to go their separate ways.

If Dick and Kory were good because they were poles apart, I'd say Dick and Barbara are more alike. They have both worked with Batman; they are originally street-level detectives and athletes; they are used to work in similar ways. I could see them as a slightly more mature couple than Dick and Kory, being more in sync and relaxed with each other because they have similar backgrounds and shared experiences. (Which, of course, could make them a more boring couple in fiction…) I'm not a fan of the retcon that they've been friends since school, but they did work occasionally together as youngsters, so it can still make sense to write them as really good friends, imo. I honestly think Dick and Kory have been written as a good couple more than Dick and Barbara. Maybe things had been different if Devin Grayson had got the chance to tie up her long arc with Dick in Nightwing vol 2. Not that I think her run was without its problems, but it would presumably have been better if she had got the opportunity to finish what she started. The ending (or rather the absence of a decent ending) of her run, and the fact that the first Nightwing stories after Infinite Crisis were downright cringeworthy, has soured my impression of her writing of Dick/Babs. So I guess editorial decisions have ruined both Dick's most important relationships…?

I don't know if you're new to the debate about Dick/Kory vs. Dick/Barbara? Because it's sometimes a heated discussion, with people claiming he doesn't deserve either of them, he mistreated one or the other etc.

I can definitely work myself up too much about fictional characters myself, but there are a few things I try to keep in mind… Fictional characters have no agency. Creators and editoral use them to tell stories (and sell stuff…). Don't get angry at fictional characters or, even worse, real people who love them. Also, reading comics is a lot about filling in the blanks between panels, and different readers can put a book down with very different pictures of what has happened. You can absolutely find examples where Dick has been written as behaving badly against both of them. Sometimes, it's a reasonable part of the writer's long game, sometimes it actually is bad and out-of-character writing. (And if you look, you can find examples where the women have been written as behaving badly against Dick too.)

Honestly, the most important thing for me when it comes to Dick and relationships is that he takes them very seriously indeed. Dick has not had a lot of one-night stands and is on record as saying he's not comfortable with casual sex. When he had one with Helena/Huntress, he wanted to talk about starting a relationship just because of that. When he (fake) married a girl to try to expose her as a murderer, he still avoided to sleep with her, and then he offered to stay with her when the case was closed, because he felt bad for deceiving her. Outside the blasted annual, I don't know of any time he was written as (knowingly) having sex with someone while he's in a relationship with another. Girls tend to break up with him, not the other way around. I'm sure other people have different ideas, and it can vary between writers and eras, but I think you can read Dick as someone who likes to be in a relationship, to be intimate with someone – but who's not into casual sex.

When it comes to Tom Taylor's run, I pretty much agree with you. I don't hate it, as some people seem to do, but I think the art has been the best part. It's mostly been pretty meh, TT has at several times spoken about how Nightwing is an A-lister among DC superheroes, but I don't think he shows it. And here and there he produces some really nice panels/pages (sometimes it's up to debate whether the characters are out of character or not). We're heading towards the end of his and Bruno Redondon's run and they've hinted he's going to stop being Nightwing. As if we need a third period of Dick not being Nightwing in ten years… 🙄 The best writer of Nightwing vol 4 was Sam Humphries, in my opinion. Unfortunately, it was very short.

Anyways, for me? the movie was incredible!!!

Comming from a home where my parents got divorced when I was a kid, the movie holds a special place in my heart. And I learn to appriciate my father and the people around me, who would always pick me up and help me get ready to grow up.

(Even if I'm a tad bit scared of growing up tho...)

Sometimes it’s easier to process emotions with the help of fiction. I can understand worrying about the passage of time and growing up as a whole. I think it’s because when your dependent on the adults in the room, you have less responsibility and don’t have to face the bigger world/venture into the unknown. Childhood feels safe and secure, while adulting feels like your going to eventually loose people you care about. I get that it seems scary. Despite that, I hope you will learn someday that growing up doesn’t immediately change you into someone else. You will always be you! And you are still allowed to enjoy the stories or activities you loved as a kid. You don’t need to abandon everything behind you to “grown up.” Some things never change :)

Anyways my thoughts on the movie?

I think it was very well paced! The start of the movie had some really fluid animation (specifically when focused on Mr. WPNZ’s mouth moving as he talked) and the choreography for the fight sequences at the end was engaging! Lots of complex camera shifts in the action sequence. I also liked how there was a continuous tug-of-war between both parents. It felt like it wasn’t one-sided, since there was moments when the audience could believe Mr. WPNZ was sincere in his words/actions. The voice actor did a good job selling the illusion that he wanted to make amends and be there to strengthen the kids (mostly in the scene when talking in the park/Karen sitting on the bench). Was also clever of the SMG4 crew to focus on the reactions the kids had whenever the parents were caught arguing. Helped show the impact being in a negative environment has on children

Ah yes Mr. Puzzles VA/Brendan Blaber—he’s such a cheeky teasing troll /j I’m not surprised in the slightest that he would be doing a little hint-hint-nudge-nudge-wink act to get the ship more prevalent lmao. Trying to allude at the fact he may know something we don’t (they usually record voice lines weeks in advance anyways). It’s just in his nature to play around like that ESPECIALLY if he’s familiar enough with Mr. WPNZ VA already. If they’re close friends/on good terms I see no reason why he wouldn’t feel comfortable messing around. I watch his livestreams from time-to-time (even working on animating a segment of it right now) and seems like he gets a kick out of teasing his friends. Sometimes stirring up some sort of half-joking remark trying to provoke a response out of them. Gotta love him for it. And honestly good for him speaking his mind so unabashedly, standing with the gays as per usual jksjsksp. I wouldn’t trust what he says as official just yet, but he’s also deliberately opened the floodgates for the ship to be widely accepted sooooo :))

I think the Hitshow ship has some merit! I can see the appeal of having some extra gay rep around the fandom (besides the prevalent SMG3 X SMG4 pairing) so I have no immediate objections. Only time will tell what their ‘friendship’ dynamic looks like in the series however! Right now it’s just headcannon and speculation. I think it’s a better match then forcing Puzzles to have a female love interest ngl (if they suddenly had a Mrs. Puzzles appear without any foreshadowing). Two evil robots for the win. Maybe they can learn to forget the past and move on by making a future together (or just go crazy and keep seeking revenge lmao)

sometimes i feel like. just a significant amount of FMA Discourse™ would vanish if we all remembered to take into account the genre (a shonen action manga w a target audience of 12-16 y/o(approximate age) Japanese boys published from 2001-2010) conventions, buy-ins, and limitations

like. no media is beyond critique and i am a firm believer that kid's media can tackle serious topics but the time, place, and audience it was produced in has to be taken into account

is FMA super feminist? well honestly in the grand scheme of things it achieves a bit more than the minimum. there's only a handful of female characters compared to the much larger male cast. Winry and Hawkeye have personalities and character arcs and compelling motives but those things are directly tied to more important male characters (Ed and Mustang). there's only one female character that's highly sexualized (Lust) as opposed to all of them, the rest get to be v conventionally attractive instead of blatantly sexualized nonstop. in the context of being a shonen action manga aimed at teenage boys tho? it's fuck phenomenal

does it handle the Ishvalan genocide well? not particularly. but for Baby's First Introduction To The Concept in a country that's historically Not Been Great at acknowledging war chimes it does a decent job (note: i'm def not saying Japan's the only nation w that problem, just that they're one of the big ones in regards to the topic)

is it shitty that FMA's solution to corrupt systems is to just get rid of all the Bad People and put Good People in charge? hell yeah!! but a common buy-in for media aimed at this age group is that the heroes are all Good Guys who will achieve their goals and do good things. Mustang and Ling both plan to more or less keep the system as is but take out the Bad Parts which is bs irl but in YA-and-under fiction we can trust that they are Good Guys who will do Good Things

3033/Cross relationship headcanons (I hate them)

3033 constantly acts like he isn't in love when in fact he is more obsessed with Cross than Cross is with him. He is unsalvageable

33 enjoys the taste of every part of him (phagocyte things), his skin, his spit, even the things I will not speak of here

Another phagocyte thing is he constantly bites him as affection (and marking him)

Marking him is more of a jealousy thing but it doesn't matter anyways because Cross is so hard to hit on it's insane, you need to bother him 24/7 just to reach the possible love interest status, much less have him constantly bicker with you on sight

This causes big awkward moment at the T cell station: "uh Cross? Are those bite marks??" "NO, UH, MOSQUITOES, BAD ALLERGIC REACTION" (they do not believe his ass!!!)

They both have no experience on actually doing it, maybe they've read fiction or watched it at some point but none of them have ever gotten that far with a partner.

Cross has definitely read the worst BL out there tho, that is his only knowledge on it. The second they try anything 3033 is about to be hit with this fact.

3033 uses the honorific "-chan" on him, at first as disrespect (he's so small and unintimidating, no other honorific fits), but eventually turned to affectionate (he's so cute, I enjoy calling him this)

Cross(-chan) always says he hates it but in actuality he is obsessed with it, everyone else calls him Cross-kun so he feels it's special when 3033 alone refers to him as Cross-chan

When they first started dating Cross kept getting 3033 food, learning from his Squad Leader, the problem is that Squad Leader has an insane void as a partner, and therefore is the outlier. (3033 just kept handing 2145 his gifted food, although he feels bad he cannot actually finish it all)

I think Cross would lose his mind anytime 3033 decides to let down his hair. 3033 does it whenever he's bored just to see his reaction

Even when they're dating they call each other names and say they're annoying, it's just another part of their day <3 (they don't get physical with it at least) sometimes it gets to the point they yell at each other "YKNOW WHAT? IM BREAKING UP WITH YOU" and then go their separate ways before coming right back the next day saying "Okay do you want to visit this restaurant I found with me?" "Yeah ok"

I think Cross would genuinely be into 3033 constantly calling him names, 3033 calls him an idiot and stupid halfway through making out and Cross instantly gets redder than before.

On the flip side I don't think Cross can seriously call 3033 insults when they aren't actively bickering, maybe he's too busy looking at how pretty 3033 is, maybe he just likes him too much to say those words seriously to him.

The second 3033 realized he preferred watching Cross break down into a flustered mess rather than get mad at him over nothing was when the flirting began. Terrible for Cross' blood pressure but great for 3033's amusement 👍

Much to 3033's dismay, 2145 enjoys wingmanning for him. Cross asked 2145 what 3033's code was because they got so far into the relationship yet 3033 had never told him his code, and it would be embarrassing to ask him now.

3033 doesn't normally tell 2145 about how his relationship is going, but 2145 (probably influenced by Squad Leader's nosy behavior) will sometimes ask about it, he is curious

Cross literally tells everything Abt 3033 to Squad Leader, Squad Leader doesn't know what to say so he's just nodding half the time. It would be so in-character and funny tho if he saw bruises on Cross (hickeys) and thought maybe 3033 was bullying him and messages 2145 Abt it.

2145 confronts 3033 about "Maybe be less rough on him" and 3033 is just ""??? I told him he can tell me if it hurts?????????"

Cross uses emoticons (canon) and he uses them when he's texting 3033

"Good morning ｡⁠◕⁠‿⁠◕⁠｡" comes up on 3033's phone and his juniors are all thinking who is the person behind that message

3033 looks so menacing and grumpy at work and on the clock but in reality he's sooooo annoying and clingy. He has a reputation to keep up tho so he only does that at home. Aka with Cross.

Cross gets no time away from him at home, 3033 is burying his face into his chest, his hair, his back, doesn't even matter if he just came home from work.

Sometimes it's because he just wants to bother him, sometimes it's because he wants affection. Regardless Cross is not getting anywhere w his clingy ass.

No no it's fine! I'm glad people are interested! So how I kinda found out maybe a bit strange to say the least. When I was young, obviously I didn't know I was a fiction kin. I didn't know kinning was even a thing. I was nine years old at best.

Being the naive person that I was, my mother wasn't really that great as I started to get older. I guess to put it lightly I was abused quite harshly. I always had bruises all over my legs. I was really flinchy and anxious.

I would say it's a bit of both DogDays. As for me cartoon DogDay kinda represents my innocence as a kid. Though big body DogDay represents as I am older what kind of childhood trauma I've been through.

My shifts vary depending on how I'm feeling. Usually it will be cartoon DogDay, but there have been moments where bigger body DogDay was talking instead (he tends to handle really serious stuff better).

As for remembering about the factory. Jeez, what isn't there to remember? Don't get me wrong there were great times there but everything just went..side tracked. It wasn't supposed to happen. None of it. Though I suppose one that stood out to me the most was looking after all the kids and just seeing how happy they were. I always missed and struggled with to cope that they weren't going to come back. That is..the..loneliest feeling in the world.

do you have a favorite moment from your experience playing fnv?

ough its hard to narrow it down to just one, theres so many moments in this game both intentional and not that are so good . i loved all the quests in the ultra luxe and gomorrah, i loved boone's quest about his dead wife lol , more recently i loved the great khans stuff (even if fighting those deathclaws was a pain in the ass it was rly rewarding finally figuring out how to beat them) but i have two specific moments i think will stick w me for a LONG time, one intentional and one unintentional

the (mostly) intentional one was killing benny . ive talked abt him before so ill keep it brief but i had happened to play the game in such a way that made me like. grow to know and like him more over time? at first it was just blind annoyance and dislike, he's the guy who shot me, obviously. once i actually met him i liked his stupid charming demeanor, and upon getting out of his trap w just a good speech check, i felt like we had developed a mutual soft spot for each other (even if we were still opponents and had every reason to hate each other). i found him again at the legion camp and exhausted all his dialogue, and the more i talked to him the more i realized- not only does benny have a really human background and motivations, he's not too dissimilar to me and/or my courier . and i felt kinda silly for hating him this entire time! i suddenly liked him, i didnt want him to die! but letting him escape is crazy hard to pull off and even if you do he's still gone from the story after that . i wound up killing him in the legion arena bc it only felt fair to give him a fighting chance, and both of us being kinda shitty at stabbing each other was just this perfect bittersweet ending to our time together. i still wear his suit basically any time i dont need better armor on, and yes the implications of this given my new position on the strip keep me up at night too im gonna make art abt it eventually dont worry

the unintentional thing was early on in my adventures w yes man. id been watching a lot of like, atmospheric fnv videos in the bg where they walk in-game some long stretch between towns, and i wanted to do the walk from primm to the strip like the courier was originally supposed to. plus i modded the game to have a custom radio station w old country songs i like lol so it was an excuse. so im walking w yes man and we're maybe halfway done w the trip when we come across this kinda scenic view (this game doesnt let me screenshot so its a phone pic, hence the colors are a bit off):

and i stop to admire it with him right as it's only make believe by conway twitty comes on- which is a song about an unrequited relationship (ie "we can pretend in public that you love me, i can hope that you love me, but i know it's only make believe") but standing there next to an f/o while it plays is OUCHHH OWWWW OUGHH. its heartwrenching. even in-character, my six would feel similarly abt yes man since he's yknow. just a robot. and in the fiction i can only imagine like. standing there and having the view and the song and yes man just a foot away at most and not having confessed yet and. long story short i think this is the first time they tell him they love him. so now this random stretch of highway in new vegas is wildly bittersweet for me and nobody else lmao
