I think Beast sskk would be very secretive when it comes to their relationship (like sskk usually are), but let's pretend for a moment that they weren't.

It'd be so funny if Akutagawa had that specific kind of Columbo-like detective approach where he keeps bringing up his supposed “wife” at the most random times during cases. And obviously at the agency nobody believes him because they never saw him hang out with anyone outside of work (besides spending time with Oda's orphans), and the idea of Akutagawa having a spouse is enough unbelievable by its own. So everyone is kinda convinced he's just made them up, but making up an imaginary spouse would be like, the fourteenth most weird thing the feral gremlin of the ada has done, so they don't put much thought into it. That's until one day they have an office party where everyone is free to bring their partners, and that's how the agency finds out that Akutagawa's “wife” not only exists but is actually the ex Port Mafia White Reaper Nakajima Atsushi

Headcanon:

At the Agencies dorms.

Atsushi: I’m already regretting asking this, but Dazai what are you doing?

Dazai is knelt by a door trying to pick at the lock.

Dazai: Atsushi! You’ve come to help me with my mission how kind of you.

Atsushi: I’m not agreeing to help you with whatever this is. Hey isn’t this Kunikida’s dorm? Should you even be doing this?

Dazai: On the contrary Atsushi, I have received permission from the President himself to break into Kunikida’s dorm room.

Atsushi: The president gave you permission for this?! Why?!

Dazai: Well you see when Kunikida has a lot of paperwork to do he will sneak it back with him. And then barricade himself in his dorm till he completes it.

Atsushi: Seriously?

Yosano: Oh he’s right about that. Kunikida won’t come in or out till it’s done. I used to have to saw the door off and release Katai in to deal with him.

Yosano: Apparently Kunikida’s been like this since they were young whenever he had an assignment or revision for an assignment. Can’t say I never did it but he’s something else you know?

Atsushi: That doesn’t sound healthy.

Dazai: Exactly so I have permission to break into his dorm and drag him out for dinner with everyone.

Atsushi: Hmm okay I’ll help.

Dazai: Good cos he’s going to be a real grouch about it.

Yosano: I mean the chainsaws still an option if you need me to go get it. I’ll have him down whether he wants to go or not.

Atsushi, sweat drop: How about we make that plan B? You said Katai could help maybe we could call him?

Dazai: What a brilliant idea but you might wanna hurry up on that.

The door clicks open.

Dazai: Ohhh Kuuuniiikiiiidaaa~!

No. No, I like to think that man was out of this entire mind in college. I like to think he changed his major 2 times, had a bombastic love affair that scarred him for life and made him write all those stipulations for the “ideal woman”, had a whole villain arc AND a redemption arc and THEN decided to become a math teacher

Was talking to my sister about how sskk subvert conventional representations of sun/moon relationships with Atsushi being the moon (Beast Beneath the Moonlight, protective, blue) and Akutagawa being the sun (powerful, destructive, red). And that's when she said “of course, that ties with how the moon shines brighter because of the sun behind it, and Atsushi is the most powerful thanks to the aid of Rashomon Akutagawa provides”. And I think it's something worth writing down.

Random headcannons I have about the Agency living in the dorms.

Atsushi is banned from cleaning and doing any chores other than his own. Because he cleans like he's back in the Orphanage.

Dazai is banned from the kitchen indefinitely after setting it on fire on his first day while making toast at 4am.

There's a whiteboard in the communal area with everyones daily tasks, a shopping list, who's turn it is to do certain things etc.

There's also a drawing from Kenji to brighten everyone's morning and yes it's usually a cow.

Infact a lot of his and Kyouka's drawings having been put on the walls and fridge. Along with some of Dazai's... Well after Kunikida deemed them appropriate of course.

They have weekly movie nights where they write titles of what they want to watch and than draw them out of a hat at random.

Said hat has sometimes ended up being Chuuya's hat (Dazai stole it.) It's gotten to where the door is left unlocked for Chuuya to charge in (without breaking down the door) and retrieve his hat.

Sometimes they manage to convince him to stay and watch movies with them. If he does, he's not allowed to sit next to Dazai because they'll argue throughout the whole thing.

Kyouka and Junichiro like to bake together and whenever they do Ranpo is always the first to offer to taste test.

There's jars with everyones names on them known as the bail jars. Kunikida's is used the most out of everyone else's.

The older members go for a night out of drinking on Friday nights. They invite Katai (as they do with movie nights) and each of them take turns being the designated driver.

But this doesn't always go to plan and on those days Junichiro will show up to drive them back to the dorms. (Listen if the kid can pilot a helicopter I think he can drive a car.)

The underaged members of the Agency will have a game night. They play a punch of video and board games, sometimes as teams and other times individually.

The points are added up and the winner is declared.

It's fair because the younger members of the Agency can't drink and the older ones are banned from game night. Because they get way to over competitive, looking at you Yosano.

No ones allowed to bring work home with them. Atsushi and Kunikida break this rule constantly and have been reprimanded by the others.

When there's unrest around them, someone's having nightmares, or it's an anniversary of a tragedy, whatever it is on those nights where one or all of them are struggling they all have a sleepover in the communal area.

They all take their blankets and keep each other close. Sometimes they'll talk and sometimes they won't. They just need everyone close.

Fukuzawa doesn't live in the dorms but he lives nearby and drops in regularly to check up on everyone.

I think having the Agency members being accused as terrorists really adds a lot to their character and just how far they're willing to go in that type of situation.

Like Kunikida stealing a car (that had auto-theft insurance)

Like Fukuzawa making a deal with Mori, even willing to trade a member to the Mafia if it meant their safety.

Like Atsushi willing to make a deal with Fitzgerald if it was to get back his friends and save the Agecy.

And then there's Ranpo...

In Japan every year we have this thing where the town has this big fireworks show to celebrate the summer, and this time when I watched the fireworks I got WAN flashbacks and wondered if we'd ever see everyone back together again. (alive)
