do you think, in her most uncharitable moments, camilla ever blamed gideon for palamedes' death? not as a rational thought of course, and i'm sure she felt bad about it, but in the depths of the grief and pain and desperation - might it have been easier to place blame on the girl who kept her from getting to her heart before he went supernova and left her to collect the shards of his skull?

because camilla knew where palamedes had likely run off to after that fight. she had lost sight of him which was inexcusable but she had a target for which to aim as soon as the ninth stopped asking questions, except that gideon asked to go after him first; gideon asked for a moment alone with him, for camilla to watch over harrow while the latter got her sword, and then ran off to meet palamedes alone in the hall outside cytherea's room just before he went and killed himself. and camilla let her.

do you think pal would have paralyzed her if camilla had been there? do you think he could have? if gideon had just let cam go with her, if cam had just gone against gideon's requests and followed, she would have seen his face one last time, even if the result still ended up the same...

i think palamedes would’ve paralyzed camilla if she’d been there, even if the guilt of forcing her to witness his death firsthand would kill him a second time. to me, it echoes the line in nona the ninth where john says that g— wouldn’t have armed the nuke if p— was in range; palamedes wouldn’t have exploded himself if camilla was in the blast radius.

if multiple people were in the hallway outside of dulcinea's sickroom, i'm not sure whether palamedes would’ve had the power to restrain them all! but if camilla was there in gideon's place and it was a 1:1 replacement, i think things would’ve shaken out as in canon—except camilla might have been tempted to run towards the explosion, rather than away from it, when palamedes died and dropped the theorem holding her in place.

Opinion on Togeice and Desscaras relationship? And just Togeice herself in general?

my take on those two so far is pretty simple: i want to know more! so far, both togeice and desscaras were treated like comic relief. and that's honestly keeping me from being invested in either of them.

I'm genuinely hoping the upcoming chapters are gonna show us just how much ass dess can kick, and once that happens, togeice, who is framed as her rival-type relationship, will also get more standing within the narrative.

in general, i feel like togeice is in this weird place where the stakes of the series so far don't match how we're supposed to perceive her power level? like, while we do see her summon these fuck-off huge ice dragons but. she's fighting a mushroom. a clown. that is a task on ichi's level but so far it's like. the stakes are not matched you know?

so yeah! i want to know more and i want them both to get the chance to show off properly! hopefully i'll have more to say once we see that.

(i cannot actually overstate how much of my investment in this series hinges on how desscaras vs world hater goes)

HONESTLY. Colour picking is one of the things I am like the LEAST confident in ever, so the compliment very very very nicies to hear ehehehhee thank you (: BUT!!!!!!!!!! TIPS AND TRICKS I DO HAVE! (With a Seven from HLVRV as a reference because I've been rotating her lately and she was the first thing to come to mind haha) (Cut just because I put a lot of pictures and rambling and I don't want to flood people's dashes haha)

Filtering layers baby!!!! They are my everything ever when it comes to getting colours looking good haha. My secret. My trick. My personal flair in all the art ever. The Key Ingredient. You see my sona? THATS IT BABY!!! I use my iconic reddish purple shade from my hair for pretty much everything ever and it works wonders hehehe watch watch this.

BA BAM. We have a guy. Plain ol flat colours. BUT!!! We make a layer above that. And colour EEEEEEEVERYTHING in with a good ol saturated sample of the reddish purple. AND THEN!!!!!!! We put a layer effect on that bad boy. I flip flop between a few but for this example I did Overlay, and then I turn the opacity down to! Whatever feels right! today it's 20% (:

WA POW!!!!!! The canvas upon which you can keep layering various bright colours with various filtering effects to your liking hehehehe. I switch it up a lot, But I usually keep it in the orange to pink range just cause thats what I like (: BUT!!!!!! to REALLY get that Merin Merklins colouring job in there? We take! ANOTHER SHADE OF REDDISH PURPLE! A DARKER ONE! (Or sometimes I'll take a blue if it vibes better with the piece haha) and we draw ALL THE SHADOWS! It will look VERY ODD AT FIRST. BUT!!! Back to our layer effects baby. Pick whichever one looks niciest. I bounce between Darken, Multiply, Overlay, Soft Light, or even just Normal. I did Darken here (: and THEN!!!! Turn your opacity down again until you like what you're seeing, I did 40% here.

BA BAM!!!!!! CHECK OUT THOSE COLOURS BABYYYYY. Ehehehehehe! You can do it with any colour you want, it doesn't have to be the red-purple, but thats My Brand and My Favourite so thats what I do (: You can also!!! Make the lighter colour and the darker colour two DIFFERENT colours, and it can look VERY sick (: Here's a few examples so you can see!

AND TAADAAAAAHHHHH Thats one way to get what I think are some real nicies tasty colours going on hehehe. Again, LOTS of wiggle room! I tend to spend forever futzing around with layers because they each play a little differently based on what colours you're using! Try different colours different layer effects, see whatever floats your boat (: ALSO Screenshot of my layers for simplicity's sake and easy reference too!
