How (if at all) has Temp changed after the whole "being burned at the stake because the french were salty" deal

Well for one I think he has a big fear of fire now naturally and (I forget to draw this constantly but) burn scars over half of his body not just on his face. He’s kinda self conscious about em and has his bad confidence days but he’s learning how to love himself more these days and it’s getting better :)

I also wanna go the really angsty route and say that because of the smoke inhalation damage to his lungs - he can’t sing beautifully like he used to and even his speaking voice is raspier and a bit quiet now

He and France are very cold and barely civil to each other now - everyone knows not to leave those two in a room together alone. More often than not Gil ends up being the default mediator between em lol

angelic beelzebub i think....he was a cherub made specifically to guard lucifer and was the strongest of his choir, fighting harder than any other for lucifer's cause during the war. he took many of god's angels but was eventually stalled by gabriel, who distracted him long enough for michael to cast lucifer out of heaven. beelzebub has never forgotten his grave error and forever regrets how he failed lucifer when he needed him most.

I was asked to provide a guide to the Celestial Hierarchy, so this is a very rough guide, with certain details omitted for various reasons.

The image describes the Hierarchy of Heaven, with the titles of angelic choirs and notes on their roles and functions.

God is, of course, at the top (although in a more dimensionally accurate depiction, this would be the centre).

Beneath God is the Metatron - Voice of God. The appended note reads ‘TECHNICALLY PART OF THE SERAPHIM’ but further information is blocked out with ‘REDACTED’ in its place.

There are three groups of angels below Metatron. They are the First, Second and Third Spheres.

The First Sphere includes Seraphim, Cherubim and Thrones.

The following notes are attached:

1: ARCHANGELS (this is written with a capital A)

Senior management, drawn from the ranks of Seraphim and Cherubim.

Theirs are CENTRE-FACING ROLES (Enacting the Will of God, facilitation of the Plan, long-term strategies and Angelic Resources).

2: As a point of etiquette, Seraphim and Cherubim are only to be spoken of as a plurality. Do not refer to one Seraph or one Cherub.

Thrones have their own role description: LOGISTICS & LARGE-SCALE

MACROCOSMIC FORCES, and an additional, emphatic note: NO WHEELS. NONE OF US HAVE WHEELS.

The Second Sphere includes Dominions, Virtues and Powers.

The role description for Dominions and Virtues reads: ARCHITECTS. ENGINEERS, FIRMAMENT-SMITHS, but the description beside Powers has been redacted.

The Third Sphere includes Principalities, archangels (with a small a) and Angels.

A note on etiquette regarding archangels reads ‘don’t forget the small a. But don’t bring it up in conversation’.

This Sphere is characterised as ‘EARTH-FACING ROLES & ADMINISTRATION — Guidance, observation, soul-conservation & procurement, record-keeping’.

A note on Principalities warns ‘Don’t make jokes about how few of them there are’ and ‘This means you, Sandalphon.’

Conversely, regarding Angels, the advice says ‘There are so many of them. Millions. Don’t try to remember every name when you can generally get away with ‘Mumble-iel’.

Rewriting Hellaverse Heaven

Welcome to Heaven

We all know that Vivienne's worldbuilding skills are terrible, I’ve been pointing out a few issues so it’s not a new concept. I don’t want her to butcher Heaven in the second season, I know she will so I did something myself.

Anyway, I’ll start with the lowest in the hierarchy and gradually start climbing higher, it’s not 100% accurate to the angelic hierarchy we all know but where’s the fun in taking the accurate text without making any changes?

I. Humans:

Different ranks

Humans, while mostly there to rest after their death, can access more important ranks that are essential for Heavens to keep working. It’s based on how they lived on Earth.

Venerable: Venerable is the title given to a deceased person recognized as having lived a virtuous life, they sinned but it wasn't that bad and their good doing overcame their bad deeds. They are very common.

Blessed: To be beatified and recognized as Blessed, you must die because you accomplished a virtuous act based on the 7 Capital Virtues. A Blessed has the opportunity to assist a Saint in their daily routine and help welcome new souls in Heaven, making them visit different places and integrate them into the communities.

Saint: Sainthood requires a heroically virtuous and borderline sinless life, which means they dedicated their entire life to helping others and the world around them. A soul who accessed sainthood has the opportunity to further participate in the maintenance of Heaven. Saint Peter has the keys to open the Gates and knows which souls can have access to it.

The Choirs

Venerables can be part of a Choir since they have the most free time. The main style is currently Gospel and Acapella but Gospel Rock with Christian Symphonic Metal recently added themselves with new generations.

If I had to rewrite “Welcome to Heaven” it would probably be like “Gospel True” from Hercules.

II. Earthly Messengers

In other terms, those angels interact the most with humans whether it’s on Earth, in Heaven, or in Hell.

“Common” Angels

a. Overall:

That’s what they are called in the scripture and honestly, I was too tired to find another name. They are mostly pacifists avoiding confrontation and only carrying action and the words of God for the Greater Good. “Common” Angels take humans' appearance to blend in to spread good morals and values to inspire others.

They have to protect mortals from demonic influence, AKA identify and either repel the demon or slay it in extreme circumstances. They are my replacements for the Cherub in Helluva Boss and the reason IMP and other needs humans disguise.

b. Guardian Angels:

A guardian angel is assigned to protect and guide a particular person. You can't see them but their advice manifests as your internal monologue. It's up to you if you want to listen to it. They are the reason you think twice before willingly making bad decisions.

Principalities

If the “Common” Angels take care of individuals person, Principalities take care of kingdoms and large communities focusing mainly on the chiefs so they rule fairly over their people.

Unfortunately, most Principalities fell with Lucifer and the Fallen currently use their skills to manipulate rulers for the benefit of Hells.

Powers

a. Overall:

Powers heavily partake in Heaven’s army and it’s not rare to see them roaming around with a sword and armor, I mean, it’s their duty to protect the place. Once a year they descend to Hell in order to kill as many sinners as possible.

While it’s still a hazard as demons in general have varieties of powers that can make a fight difficult they do it nonetheless. During the war against Lucifer, their loyalty was such that no Powers fell which not only boosted their ego but also made them loathe those who turned against the Almighty.

Archangel Michael is the leader of the army but since Lucifer obliviously does not want the guy near Pentagram City Misael, his best soldier and lieutenant, takes the lead once in Hell.

b. Context around Exterminations:

The Examination was set up when Samael stopped torturing sinners and established a semblance of society to gain more power. Misael proposed it, not only to stop the Fallen Angel from harvesting strength but to regulate the number of souls in Hell. Which got accepted.

After each Extermination, soldiers have prayer duties where they need a few days to demand forgiveness after each extermination because of the arms procured.

Sinning gives more power to the Seven Deadly Sins, so each Power chooses their victims wisely specifically targeting sinners classified, in their own terms, as Overlords since they massively perpetuate immoral behaviors in others. They know exactly who targets thanks to Adam and Eve.

The first humans were sent to Hell because they doomed humanity except that not only did they keep their human appearance but they got a pardon from the wrath of Samael. Sealed away from the chaos of Hell, they stay in contact with Heaven and inform them of news deemed as important like the rise in power of a sinner.

III. Heavenly Rulers

While they rarely venture among humans, the actions they take can affect life on Earth.

The Archangels

The Archangels have been given the monumental task of managing life in Heaven for humans and the travel between Heaven and Earth/Hell. Each one of them has a different area of expertise translated by the etymology of their name.

They take care of the “Common” Angels and Power's activities making sure everything goes accordingly. They make sure everyone follows the rules, arresting/killing those that don't, and assigning the proper sentence when ordered to by God or the Dominions. They can be sent to Earth to deliver very important messages and are responsible for miracles, you know, people magically getting their visions back or limbs suddenly growing back, yeah, it’s them.

Dominions

Dominions rule over the Angels under them in the hierarchy, they monitor their activities making sure everything is fine. They solve arguments and grant intelligence with their immense wisdom and, like judges, give verdicts and penalties to criminals often helping God himself when faced with dilemmas, they were the ones who proposed the flood and helped God make his 10 Commandments.

The Ophamins

They are eyed wheels inside eyed wheels that contain fire whiting them, don’t try to visualize that.

Whenever Gods ask for a place to be blessed they will take the fire from them and spread it around making mere earthly houses holy. When that happens Hellborns (imps, succubus, or else) cannot approach these areas, unless they wanna die. You see this fire doesn't just repel sin it cleanses it completely and since Hellborn creatures are physical manifestations of sins they die the second they get close to the fire.

The fire is used to make angelic weapons.

IV. God’s Attendance

They can get physically close to the Almighty and help Him by carrying His orders or even replacing Him in some cases.

The Cherubims

Cherubims are armed with a sword whose warmth rivals the sun, it’s directly made from the fire of the Ophamin. One became the Guardian of Eden after Adam and Eve ate the Defended fruits (A pomegranate in my rewrite) Two also stand beside Saint Peter protecting the gates of Heaven.

Their duty is to protect sacred places, If God sends them to Earth it’s to protect a zone, Noah was asked to build the status of two Cherubim on his arch to ensure its protection, The same goes for Solomon who built temples with sculptures of Cherubim inside.

The Sheraphim

The closest to God physically, Seraphim cover their body with one of their three pairs of wings to not blind people and avoid outshining the Heavenly Father. Their love is so grand they burn, it doesn’t hurt them.

They essentially have endless creativity, not unlimited like God but pretty close, they helped him when creating the universe and its rules.

The Seven Holly Virtues

Uriel, Raphael, Michael, Saraquel, Gabriel, and Remiel.

Also called the Council of Seven, these angels are the most powerful of their type and take charge of Heaven when God is unavailable. Each of them represents a Virtue and they are the ones you’ll see when you’re dead.

Each evaluates your entire life before your eyes and decides whether you go to Hell or not, the process lasts a few seconds from your perspective, hence why you feel like your life flashes before your eyes.

V. More informations

1. Angelic weapons:

Their making always involves the fire of the Ophamins, whether it’s a literal flaming sword or used to melt metals. Ophamins are the only ones able to touch this divine fire, they are literally made from it, Angels above them can be hurted by it but they are allowed to have flaming weapons because of their much more important status and their experiences. Those below are given metallic weapons melted with the fire to give a tier of its properties but it’s less powerful, nonetheless, it is still effective against low-tier demons.

→ A flaming sword kills Angels (fallen or not).

→ A simple blade can only kill the offspring of the Goetia (in my rewrite the 72 Goestia are Fallen Angels that had children in Hell), Hellborns, and sinners.

2. What are they made of?:

Angels were created the second God asked for Light, as they are part of it. They have free will and autonomy but choose to serve their Creator as it seems like the most logical thing to do. They are sinless beings living in another plane of existence. Usually, when angels fall off of grace they shapeshift because they don’t want to be associated with Heaven, only taking a more “holly” appearance to trick humans.

This shapeshifting ability is flawed for both species because their natural eye colors cannot change. You know what they said “Eyes are the window of the soul.”

3. Morality and the importance of ethics:

Angels are moral beings and have free wills, they know ultimately what is really good and what is really wrong and that’s how they base their judgment upon humans.

There’s one flaw in this system, however.

They live in an alien-perfect environment. Everyone knows their place and carries their very specific duties, they don’t question rules because why would a perfect God would create imperfect rules? The last time someone tried to drastically change everything they lost a tier of their friends and witnessing what they are doing now reinforces that feeling that their sense of morality is ultimately right.

Ethics is many things and I still struggle to fully grasp what it is despite the little research I made, what I understand is that it helps in understanding people's behavior and giving fair judgments in court. What is morally wrong can be ethically right, there’s a huge difference between robbing a bank because you want to get rich and being a pickpocket because you have children to feed. Angels don't understand that, they don't understand humans and that’s why so many people end up in Hell without really deserving it.

4. These have nothing to do with the rewrite:

The way I suffered to write this is unreal. I have a bad habit of doing research and writing at the same time! Don’t be like me… because the number of time I had ideas and decided to scrap them because the results of my research made more sense makes me want to cry. I didn't but I was close.

You can also count me not saving my progress and accidentally closing Tumblr so I had to rewrite paragraphs. Anyway, the pain is over and I‘m glad the final result.

Archangels, Angels or how the show could write itself

I mentioned in one of my posts that Miss Medrano got even the Angelic choirs wrong and by opening up wikipedia page, I also had to refresh my memory with how it works - also on Pinterest are great visuals, alright, let's begin.

I'm going to briefly touch up on Seraphims and Cherubs as they were also used wrong - at least to the knowledge I gathered.

Also, keep in mind there are different versions of each so I'm using the general knowledge that I have, if you want to get deeper into it, I strongly advise to do research on your own.

Also also, I'm taking some info exchanged with another user, sound off in the notes or reblog so I could give proper credit.

Seraphim - they are right under God, singing his praises. They have six wings, flying with one pair, covering their body with two pairs of wings, as if to not blind with their Holy light or to not outshine the great Allfather. So...by this information alone, whoever saw Sera's body (Emily's too...is she a Seraphim? *quick wiki check* Yes, yes, she is) They should be blind or down on their knees as they are moved by their beauty.

Cherubs or Cherubim - dear Allfather upstairs, this one hurts - they are under Seraphims and they respond directly to God and are the protectors of Garden of Eden with their flaming swords.

"But then, who could she use for the C.H.E.R.U.B.S. episode?!" I can hear you say?

Watcher Angels.

Watcher Angels are both good and bad and as the name suggests, they are watching over humans on Earth and many of them descended to couple with human women, which Nephilims were born - blood thirsty giants ( Asmodeus was also born from this coupling but it is one of many versions, in some he's born from Lilith and Adam which I won't get into details.)

And boom. You have a story to use against Haven and some criticism - how Watcher Angels weren't punished but instead one of their children - Asmodeus.

I would also like to make a suggestion: Replace Adam with Kushiel: 'Rigid one of God' one of seven angels of punishment, who punishes individuals in Hell.

There, angel who's main purpose is to punish and no need to make Adam, The First Man into a dumb jock.

And if you want to have a female representative in Heaven - Archangel Ariel: The Lioness of God is right there or if you want someone more popular Archangel Gabriel has both male and female forms. Archangel Jophiel: The Beauty of God is female too but I don't think she would fit very much.

If you want potential angst, Archangel Michael is there.

The Angelic Choir is also very vast and rich and it is just one click away with modern technology.

The centerpiece of the Choir of St Barbara's, christened "Gallatea."

I reckon the name's accurate: if you haven't fallen in love with this beast by halfway in, you're wasting your life. And oh, she is beautiful. The Exorcist was the highlight of the old range and this new one is a work of art.

There's so much going on here: the pipe organ, the rockets, so many icons, the keyboard, and even fresh-cut flowers on the altar. That tread with the rose and crossed swords? Only one on the whole vehicle.

I know the Brits get real touchy about Warhammer being THEIRS AND THEIRS ALONE, but the Battle Hymn of the Republic makes such a great anthem. It's an abolitionist creation, but you'll be hard pressed to find a holy war hymn that sounds better on the pipe organ. If we're driving a mobile pipe organ into battle(typically they are a part of the architecture), we're not taking half measures.

The box art is ridiculous. Why bury all those details in flat black?

I left off the cherubs and Holy Vuvuzela. I needed parts for my original Exorcist rebuild and brother, they were made to snap off in transit.

Look at this cockpit:

That keyboard! The hands in position to hit a chord! Who knows what those hatches in the deck are for?

I just want to point out another detail here: those roses below the icons. When 'Eavy Metal was putting this together for the box art, they painted over them to make them part of the bas relief. They are cowards and have undersold some details that serve the High Church/brutal war machine dichotomy that defines the Sisters.

“Wheels within Wheels”

“Be Not Afraid”

“Ophanim,” rooted in ancient Hebrew, translates to “wheels.” While the Old Testament mentions wheels on carts, it gains particular significance in Ezekiel’s vision of God’s throne.

Ezekiel 1:15–21: “As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went. Ezekiel’s symbolism emphasizes God’s sovereignty, transcending earthly limitations. The wheels within wheels signify unrestricted movement, mirroring the cherubim’s ability to travel without turning. This portrayal, though not literal, underscores God’s omnipotence and omnipresence.

Ezekiel 10:9–13: “And then I saw four wheels beside the cherubim, one beside each cherub. The wheels radiating were sparkling like diamonds in the sun. All four wheels looked alike, each like a wheel within a wheel. When they moved, they went in any of the four directions but in a perfectly straight line. Where the cherubim went, the wheels went straight ahead. The cherubim were full of eyes in their backs, hands, and wings. The wheels likewise were full of eyes. I heard the wheels called ‘wheels within wheels.”

The “eyes” adorning the wheels and angels highlight divine omniscience. Ophanim, a focus of fascination, sparked later interpretations as a distinct class of angels. Colossians 1:16 adds to this discourse, mentioning “thrones,” potentially associated with ophanim, as spiritual beings.

However, interpreting said versicle as specific spiritual beings poses challenges. A more natural interpretation sees it referencing various authorities subject to Christ. Additionally, the metonymical representation of thrones in rivalry contrasts with the ophanim’s presumed submission to God.

Rather than establishing ophanim as a separate angelic class, viewing them as symbolic wheels on God’s throne is prudent. These wheels, not literal or guardian creatures, amplify Ezekiel’s vision’s core message — God reigns universally, responding with unparalleled sovereignty and power in every direction and location. The fascination with ophanim lies in their capacity to symbolize divine attributes and the profound nature of God’s reign.

They are described in one of the Dead Sea scrolls as angels; later sections of the Book of Enoch (61:10, 71:7) portray them as an order of celestial beings that (along with the Cherubim and Seraphim) never sleep, but occupy the position of guardians to ensure that the throne of God is protected. Christian angelology refers to them as one of the choirs (classes) of angels, and they are sometimes referred to as Thrones as well.

There are four eye-covered wheels (each wheel consists of two nested wheels), which move beside the winged Cherubim, beneath God’s throne, and are associated with the verse from Daniel 7:9 (the wheels of galgal are often called the wheels of galgallin, in “fiery flame” and “burning fire”). The four wheels move with the Cherubim because the spirit of the Cherubim is in them. The late Second Book of Enoch (20:1, 21:1) also referred to them as the “many-eyed ones”.

The Book of Enoch implies that the Ophanim are equated with the “Thrones” in Christianity when it lists them together, in order, as follows: “…round about were Seraphim, Cherubim, and Ophanim”.

Where does Metatron (Enoch) fit in? As with many angels, Metatron has multiple wings and eyes. In some imagery, the archangel is depicted as the “second God” who sits behind the throne, with the eyes representing his role as a celestial scribe and recorder of divine acts. In addition to his “twin brother”, Sandalphone, they are often depicted as akin to the Ophanim, however, they are the highest-rank angels (I will leave this statement open).

To conclude, the depiction of God with the four eye-covered wheels, associated with Ophanim, gives a sense of vulnerability, in my opinion, and challenges the traditional notion that God’s omnipotence is unquestionable. These beings are portrayed as having a regal quality, which differs from conventional perceptions of divine majesty, as seen in the Book of Enoch.

I would like to say something about heaven's hierarchy in helluva boss and hazbin hotel. Like,I've made some research (I'm going by the Christian hierarchy from the Chatolic Christian bible) and like.

God on top,clearly

Then Lucifer,the most glorious angel god ever made

Then we have our Archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael,Uriel,Raguel,Remiel and Sariel guardian angels of nations

Seraphim,the burning ones,with the task of taking care of god's throne and worshipping him 24/7

Cherubim, they guard the way to the tree of life and God's throne and there was a huge misunderstanding with Putti,those chubby babies usually associated with cupid,while cherubims have four feet,a lion body with oxen feet and four faces (man,ox,lion or eagle)

Thrones. Those wheel things with wings and eyes, they carry god's throne

Domions/lordship. They look like humans and keep lower angels in line

Virtues/strongholds they carry out miracles and heavenly signs

Powers/authorities just like their name,these angels have enough power to be warriors and carry out wars against angels

Principalities. They deliver heavens blessings

archangels. The use of the capital letter is important here because archangels and angels are the lowest choir of angels,but these gud have higher status in comparison to angels

Finally angels are the lowest rank of all heaven and are those in most contact with living beings on earth and are meant to serve humanity

I have so many pet peeves with this hierarchy in front of my eyes because first if all,it should have been imps vs angels in that episode with the rich bastard who wanted to die in helluva boss,second of all,where did god go? Where did the archangels go? Where are they? Also the plural of cherub is cherubim but of course Viv wouldn't think about that because otherwhise it wouldn't rhyme with that stupid song. I guess it's all for now then.

Gideon as Stan stepson is hilarious.

Not only for the shenanigans, but the fact Stan cares 1000% about his family. Eventually he will care about Gideon, and have to deal with the mental shutdown of realizing he cares about him

Inevitably they'll have some big emotional argument that culminates in "Stan Pines, don't you forget who you're messing with! From now until the day you die, I am and shall always be your arch-nemesis!" "MAYBE YOU ARE my arch-nemesis... but you're ALSO... my SON." And then Gideon starts crying.

For the other arc-angels, how painful or unique was their falls/transformations? Like how did they each go about it? Same with Lucifer and Beelzebub?

so in the au where they all fall, 3 of the 4 of them are due to the council - my idea of the archangels is that they are very unique cherubs that are basically the four facets of the tetramorph split into individuals rather than being one as all the others of their choir are. that being the case, once gabriel had failed the council and so had failed god, they then believed all the archangels to be corrupt given their unusual bond. michael is still absent from heaven, but raphael and uriel are condemned in rather easy fashion due to how on edge the whole of heaven is by that point. uriel really can't defend himself, given how he's still in his coma, and raphael unfortunately believes there may be some kind of truth to what they say - the archangels haven't been whole for decades at that point, not with michael so far gone from them, and he's had the creeping fear that this has tainted them with gabriel simply fully manifesting it first. so they lose their light with him, banished down to hell as it is certain they will manifest as fallen angels given their power (quite the. way for uriel to wake up). raphael falls to fraud, as he is quite prone to lying in order to keep the peace, while uriel is sentenced to heresy due to how he has editorialized his records. michael, separate from the rest of them, falls by his own hand as he succeeds in tearing out his light in this version of the au - this casts him into violence, where he wakes still in the absence of god and so becomes consumed by the will of his layer, wishing to tear down the whole of creation as god has seen fit to abandon it. they have failed him.

as for their transformations and punishments, they are as difficult as gabriel's, just with the trappings of their specific layer. i have designs for all of them here, all representative of their layer. uriel is first in heresy, with his look similar to beelzebub's as they share the same cardinal sin - he is perpetually bursting into flame and has taken on the aspects of a goat. he can no longer read his books, can no longer write another word, as it is all burned to ash in his scorching hands. raphael wears the gilded cloak of lead, keeping it on despite its inherent discomfort due to a constant fever that leaves him terribly cold (he continues to carry remedies, though they no longer work for him, and forces hell energy into curative magic as best he can). michael is shocked white like the first layer of violence and takes on aspects of the harpy to reflect his sin, initially tearing apart anyone he encounters. this shifts only when he realizes all of his brothers have fallen as well - he is first found by raphael, who is so tired, so ill, yet still manages to carry all the kindness he was once loved for, to the point that michael feels terribly selfish for what he's done. apart from them, uriel is found by gabriel who has an awful time trying to coax him out a cloistered tower in one of heresy's cathedrals (uriel takes his fall quite badly, largely due to the shock of it, but also due to his now constant prophesying). when they all find one another, they suppose it must be fate, that even michael fell with them despite being away for so long. they become a tightly knit group, protected by gabriel and michael as they had always been, but it's a difficult adjustment to adapt to hell, their new forms, and the perpetual pain of all those separated from god's light....though having v1 around probably breaks up the tension a little bit lol
