Just for the record, I actually don’t hate any mdzs character. Mxtx’s stories are so well-crafted that I love the roles that every character plays. I love the chills and digust that Jin Guangyao inspires in me. I loved the hatred that Xue Yang causes to flare up in me when I reread the Yi City arc. I love the amusement I get every time Jiang Cheng lives up to his failed-hero role, doubly so when I remember that he is also a failed-villain because Xue Yang is actually the better version of him lmao. I love dissecting Nie Mingjue’s hypocrisy in what it means when Wei Wuxian thinks of him as an “upholder of morality.” I love the pity that I feel for Lan Xichen such that I struggle to commit to how I view him just like how he struggles with how to view those he loves. And the complexity and diversity of each character’s life experiences and autonomous choices is the icing on the cake that makes fans’ (me included) obsessions over them wholly understandable.

What I hate is feeling coerced into liking a character how fandom wants me to like them, especially if the “evidence” supporting liking said character is just popular fanon that the fandom has taken as gospel truth. The more I feel pressured into ignoring a character’s canon personality to adopt a fanfic version of them whose only similarity is that they share a name, the harsher I want to be with my critique of them. Don’t give me morally righteous!Nie Mingjue who totally would’ve defended the Wen and I won’t give you hypocrite!Nie Mingjue who deserved to be cut into pieces, just not by the person who did it. Don’t give me best brother, best jiujiu!Jiang Cheng and I won’t give you pathetic manbaby!Jiang Cheng who deserved to have Wei Wuxian’s golden core removed from him the hard way for his ungratefulness and for his sister to come back to life to bitch slap him for how he treats her son. Don’t give me best bro wangxian shipper!Lan Xichen and I won’t give you morally weak!Lan Xichen who deserved every bit of the psychological torture Nie Huaisang put him through for his inability to truly stand by any of his brothers, biological or sworn.

Don’t give me some “everyone is secretly good with no flaws” bullshit and I won’t feel the need to balance it out by listing every single one of their sins and nailing it to the door like Martin Luther. I like these characters. Don’t turn me into a hater, cause if you think I’m mean now? Lol

The Unwanted Guest AU is inspired by the Stanley Parable. It has a lot of the same concepts and is technically an alternate universe, but i want to be able to freely add different things to it. So in this case it’s both an AU and not an AU!

It’s my fellas! My silly guys! It’s not even close to canon, and that’s alright! I enjoy the canon story, and I enjoy what my brain ripped from the game. It’s mine to enjoy.

I want people to enjoy the story, so I’ll continue doing it. But since I want to make it even more of my own thing, I’m going to add some stuff that isn’t related to canon. I’ve been trying so, so hard to make it seem like it can fit with canon in some way, but nah. I’ve given up on that. It’s my stupid little story, and I’ll add all the doohickeys I want.

It’s definitely one of the darker possibilities they’re entertaining, yes. And not a very far fetched one if we look at it from their point of view.

A probably middle aged crime and drug lord upstart with one of Joker’s old aliases with a strange obbeession with trafficking and sex working laws and a seemingly deeply traumatized kid flocking to him with a concerning amount of devotion?? Yeah, not looking too good…

i haven’t reeeeally started writing anything other than planning this out broadly because it’s very plot heavy but got a little lost thinkin about the intimacy of shaving the other day so this is from x files au in some shitty shared motel room while they’re cryptid hunting or chasing aliens idk we’ll figure it out

When he emerges, hair towelled dry and in clean clothes, Eddie frowns at him. “What?” he asks. “Promise I didn’t finish all the hot water.” “No, you just look—” Eddie gestures at Buck’s face, “—scruffier than usual.” “Oh,” Buck says, running a hand over his day-four stubble. “I forgot my razor.” “Oh,” Eddie’s face clears, “just use mine.” Buck swallows. “Um. Okay. Thanks.” Eddie nods at him and goes back to squinting at his phone, so Buck about-faces and re-enters the bathroom. It’s not a big deal, he tells himself as he foams up his face. It’s like—like sharing a hairbrush. Intimate, sure, not something you’d tend to do with people you don’t know well, but it’s not a big deal.  He wets the razor and brings it to his throat, heart hammering there so violently it feels like his Adam’s apple is trying to get out. If his hand doesn’t stop trembling he’s going to nick himself, and God, he is being absolutely fucking ridiculous. Deep breath. The razor glides over the thin skin of his throat, muscle memory even as he stares at himself in the mirror. Doesn’t think about Eddie doing this every morning, using this very razor. Blade edge kissing his jaw the same way it kisses Eddie’s. Doesn’t think about Eddie doing this for him, hand holding his chin as he shaves Buck carefully, grip firm when he turns Buck’s face this way and that. Doesn’t think about Eddie kissing where the blade kissed him first.  Doesn’t think about any of that when he rinses the razor clean and slots it back into the travel mug, where Buck’s toothbrush rests against Eddie’s with such easy familiarity it’s about to spark a whole new crisis.

I’m salty about this for multiple reasons.

1. Because I don’t think everybody should be screaming at Mal. They were getting overrun by the Ancients. Maybe his plan wasn’t exactly well thought out, but it worked and everyone is fine.

2. Mal apologizes to Nia immediately, yet MC still hasn’t gotten one for his comments to her? Maybe it’s just me that feels this way, but I think that’s honestly what I need to start fully enjoying his route again. We’ve had some nice moments with him, but they all ultimately still feel hollow to me because there’s been no acknowledgement of whatever underlying resentment he obviously feels towards MC and none of how her suffering being diminished and ignored made her feel either

ok so there’s to answers to this, there’s a character from the main 6 and a character who’s not

the characters who’s not is aiden’s mom. i hate that bitch (i more so hate the version of her in my head, but also hate her canon versionas well)

the main thing that made me hate her is her asking “adequate reason” TO BELIEVE HER OWN FUCKING SON AND HIS FRIENDS???? LIKE SOME PARENT YOU ARE. LIKE LOOK AT ALL OF THEIR FUCKING EYEBAGS AND TELL ME THESE KIDS ARE OK. anyways. i digress (and even though she’s a middle aged woman and i’m a teenager, i could beat her ass it a fight)

and for the one from the main six, i don’t despise him because i don’t any of them, but i like logan the least. it’s not anything personally really, he’s just the least likable out of all them to me🤷‍♀️

ok and now for my favorite scene is any taylyn scene!!, no im joking but uh my favorite scene/episode is fast pass so so for an alternative i’d say i like the scene where ashlyn gets attacked by the phantom (and technically the current episode that’s out isn’t the reason i like it😭 like bin, all of my favorite scenes are fast pass man)

i like that scene because i like constant carrotop torture (im joking she’s literally my second favorite character…)

but i like i can’t even say why i like that scene without spoiling fastpass (and even if fastpass was out i wouldn’t be able to put it into words)

but uh i do like the fact that like gears are turning in her head and she’s figuring shit out and like you just know, she about to beat these “scientists” ass like you already know!!!!!
