Bill sighed softly against the heated lips pressed to his own, a feathery, airy feeling igniting within him at the tender touch. He closed his eye and allowed himself to be pulled closer, hands clenching in and wrinkling the maroon dress-shirt - the one he’d secretly picked out. One firm hand landed on his hip, guiding their bodies flush against each other. The other hand carded through his long locks to cradle the back of his head, both a point of contact and a point of control - demonstrated when his head was tilted to allow for better access to his opened mouth.

Here, in the privacy of the other’s room, Bill was allowed to cling as tightly as he could to Stanford Pines. Just… never when the human was sober.

It had been half a year since Bill had been deposited, brand-new, somehow-damaged human body and all, at the Pines’ doorstep. After two eons in the Theraprism, he was finally deemed ready for his parole. And after some rather… explosive… negotiations, Bill was allowed residence within the Mystery Shack for his year-long parole.

And now, half-way through it, Bill noticed Ford getting drunk more frequently than ever before. He knew it was his fault - what was the scientist supposed to do with all his righteous anger at Bill’s survival when Bill himself was so… changed? The former-demon had even apologized to each of his victims - willingly!

(Bill would never admit to the way the ‘Prism had broken him, not to the countless millennia spent in the Solitary Wellness Void, not to the starvation, not to the sleep deprivation, not to the drugs forcibly shoved down his throat and injected into his veins - none of it had happened as far as anyone but Bill was concerned.)

i really like how canonically yuu is genuinely supportive of grim wanting to be a great mage. if i recall correctly, even character voice lines point this out. and it seems like yuu dotes on grim a lot and defends him too??? yuu even encourages grim's ambitions whenever he declares wanting to be a great mage. and also when he does that boss-henchhuman dynamic. i mean yeah you can interpret it as yuu saying that being condescending and sarcastic as if they're talking to a child saying "when i grow up i want to be famous!" but like. i really think they're genuine when mc loves grim in their own way.

even if grim is usually a menace, he's become like family to yuu.

and i'm pretty sure grim feels the same way.

think about it this way. despite all the mess, all the unpredictability, the danger, and all the drama being in nrc. what's always the constant? yuu goes home at the end of the day to the ramshackle dorm (basically their home at this point considering they slowly but surely fix it up over time) and with who? “the great mage” grim. as the sole outcasts in that academy, they both sleep soundly knowing they will always have each other at the end of the day.

my piece for the Hemisphere: a Witch Hat Atelier seasons themed zine! thank you for having me! they're having a leftovers sale until stock runs out 🖋🍀🌷🍁❄🌧 WIPs + inspiration board + symbolism under the cut! got some requests to put this on my inprnt! the site has sales very often & you can grab it as a small or big size print.

I had a pretty good idea of the composition from the get-go. I took inspiration from art nouveau (primarily Alphonse Mucha), German fairy tales, and some 1920s perfume ads. I wanted the girls to look like fairies, akin to The Root Children by Sibylle von Olfers.

Olly just didn't work out in this drawing due to time restraints. I do love him very much though.

I actually kinda stopped making illustrations like these (including the TGAA/DGS tarot card + TGAA/DGS zine pieces a while back) because they were starting to get very hard on my arm, as I had an RSI (repetitive strain injury) a few years back during school. (Not putting the onus on the zines at all ofc! I genuinely love working with zine projects! it's def a me thing WAHAHAHA. my style was getting too anime and too detailed for my liking and everything was just taking forever to finish ngl. but I didn't have time to experiment with a more simple style outside of all of my deadlines)

I think that realizing you need to stop is okay. It's something that Shirahama teaches us in her story and I want to learn to take it to heart.

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD (for those who havent read the story I guess)

each character's symbolism:

- Coco - spring, clovers - Coco is the quintessential spring girl, and I wanted her to symbolize new beginnings, and oh boy did Coco bring a big one. The four leaf clover in particular symbolizes luck and good fortune - to some characters, Coco may have brought fortune, to others her presence brings misfortune, take that as you will.

- Tetia - summer, gladiolus - the name "gladiolus" comes from the Latin word "gladius", meaning "sword", based on the shape of the flower. you can interpret it as "you pierce my heart", perfect for a girl like Tetia, who has a contagious energy, with a romantic and grandiose nature.

- Agott - autumn, marigold - I read somewhere marigolds symbolize strength and power, perfect for our little magical powerhouse Agott. They can also symbolize jealousy (yellow flowers in particular have this association), which reflects on her rivalry with Coco in the beginning.

- Riche - winter, snowdrop - The white color of snowdrops has a strong connotation to innocence, which reflects on Riche's wish to stay a child forever. It can also symbolize rebirth and new beginnings (like Coco's clovers), as the snowdrop is the first flower to bloom in the spring, when the snow has not yet melted. I wanted the concept of "rebirth" to associate with Riche's friendship with Euini, and of his sort of "rebirth" into a new being.

- Qifrey - he does not have a flower per se, but as the caregiver and educator of the four girls, he represents the rainy season - precipitation being the one thing that binds all of these seasons together. (Note some areas of the world do not have a rainy season like where I live). I think somewhere along the line I wanted to put hydrangeas behind him, to really bring out the "rainy" theme, but the thought probably got lost somewhere in translation...

- bg flowers - honestly I just picked whatever. white lily, daffodil, hydrangea, zinnia, tulip

Okay, only because I've actually experienced this myself.

Having Ghost keep you on his bike as a passenger just to have you shoved up against his back with your chest pressed up against him and your hands a little too low on his leather jacket (it's a thick material, and he needs to be sure you're holding on tight for safety reasons, love). This motherfucker is LAAARGE and he knows it takes a bit more of a stretch to wrap yourself around him fully. He also knows that his piss missile is meant to go down the highway at 160kmh, so this man is grinning like a maniac under his helmet when he feels your hands pulling at his waist in a vice grip with absolutely no intention of letting go. All the cuter when he stops at a red light and taps on your hands to reassure you that you're both stopped.

"Can relax your grip, luv. Gonna get bruises from your little hands."

And what if I wrote the Circle’s story in a way that mirrored Lucifer’s fall from heaven and the angels he took with him? What if I included the fact that Lucifer and Morgenstern both share the same meaning 'morning star'? What if I wrote Valentine's and every one else's spiral out of control; a figurative fall from heaven? What if I gave the Circle of Raziel the proper portrayal they deserve?
