lbr the panthers clinched that win when they brought out Roberto Luongo to do the pregame drum thing. There is no better motivator for that team. That was essentially management doing the simpsons “do it for her” meme

I lost my absolute fucking mind during the Sam Reinhart eventual cup-winning goal; not because of anything Reinhart did, but because of Dmitry Kulikov. It was one of my favorite types of plays: he fucking swiped a goal out of his own crease and then they immediately went down to the other end to score. That’s a fucking two-goal swing, because of him. My head was spinning over this play. Honestly I personally believe this play even more than the goal was what won them the Stanley Cup. (Along with some sick plays from Bobrovsky.)

If you look closely as the final clock ran out you could see Sam Reinhart like inching his way towards Bobrovsky so that he could be there to hug him first lol

Man I am so happy to see the panthers win. Not just because I always love to see a franchise win the cup for the first time, but I love Sasha Barkov, I love Matty Tkachuk, and if you’ve followed me for awhile you know I loooooove Vladi Tarasenko (and also Niko Mikkola), and it’s so satisfying seeing that group win together. And also guys like Okposo and OEL and Bobrovsky and Kulikov getting their cups after a long long time

As expected ESPN totally fumbled coverage of all the cup lifts lol. They did not get good footage of Barkov lifting it the first time, but in fairness to them I’m pretty sure Barkov skated in the complete wrong direction; instead of skating towards the camera he yeeted to his right. And they totally skipped Rodrigues’ cup lift, I think that’s the only one I didn’t catch. I was waiting for him and then suddenly they’re at the black aces and I hadn’t seen him so I think the broadcast missed him. I think he might’ve been after Lundell; when they cut away from Lundell’s lap they were away from him for a bit long so I think that might’ve been when Rodrigues was. Anyone who was watching Sportsnet plz confirm to me if that was true; Canadian coverage is always better and I plan to see if I can find footage of this later

I do not understand HeeSoo teaming up with MyungHa. It's one thing to hold a grudge against the king for 3 years because he was the last person that was able to save them and seemingly abandoned them after promising he wouldn't. I'm sure she had a rather hectic 3 years ngl. But now being around him and seeing he's not that bad and how he's trusting her like, and MyungHa constantly being like "he killed my dad" ok but like, why bro? Why'd he killed your dad? You would also think HeeSoo might be thinking about his dad's death too like, that was the guy who was having a field day torturing HongJang and the other baduk players. Like these are the people who are directly responsible for HongJang's death. And MyungHa's fake report also almost put them in perma death. So why team with him!!! Or even why stay with him?

She can see the king is being pulled in all directions, and he finally confessed he had a reason for doing what he did. I just want her to take a step back and finally think about his strats and other people's opinions of him.

I keep lowkey wanting to compare her to Feng Zhiwei but she feels so amateur in comparison. And lbr, Rise of The Phoenixes deserved a better ending, this show could've been it! as far as any possible kids go idk we didn’t meet suyin till book 4 we barely saw izumi i think they just didn’t want to make the new series be a atla reunion plus lok was only meant to be one season so they were making that shit up as they went along lmao. and back in 2012-14?? they didn’t know themselves what happened to sukka lmao.

sokka and suki are definitely the type to break up bc of long distance but then find their way back to each other a few years later especially as they settle into their roles in life.

while bryke definitely neglect suki and sokka to some capacity also they do have a soft spot for suki after bringing her back. many don’t consider her to be team avatar but they’ve stated they do so idk ! she shows up a lot in the comics which have obv been created post-lok and it’s been said that they’ll utilise it’s plots and characters in shall see in future projects (crane fish town becoming republic city maybe??? where suki currently is working?? and sokka later lives!!)

i’m p sure suki will be in it at some capacity anyway and that there’ll stick with jennie as she’s one of the few asian og va’s. she’s doing a lot of work atm for avatar studios.

also random but i literally found out today that it’s not bryke-confirmed that mai and zuko end up together. it was a comment on a panel by the old comic writer. it’s not technically canon. izumi is the spit of mai anyway but hmm! interesting!!

oo big ask ok let me break this up into different paragraphs …

fist point - one thing i will admit about lok is that it fell short in incorporating the original characters into the new series in an interesting way with enough verisimilitude (realistic-ness) that it didn’t feel like they were just throwing a popular character into an episode for the sake of it. such as the whole ‘aang is a bad dad’ thing because they under-utilised him as a mentor figure to korra and instead focused on his supposed favourite son (i have thoughts on this re. aang NOT being a ‘Bad’ dad but i will make another post on it if u are interested (or have i alr made one? i’ll make another one.))

i have to agree that they would’ve probably done something shitty to sokka or suki if they were included. especially with the entire first season of lok being about bender/non-bender equality… i can just imagine they’d make sokka say something dumb about the equalist movement being 100% Bad instead of him actually supporting some of their completely valid arguments. idk. i’m sad there’s no sukka but at the same time…. quit while ur ahead yk.

second point - sukka long distance relationship is so real ESPECIALLY during their first few years together. i can see them just kinda calling it off because of commitment issues due to their work, etc. but not ever really losing feelings. they’d be endgame tho🥰

i can absolutely see suki being in upcoming projects! especially since she and the other kyoshi warriors expanded their reach across the nations - it would be hard to ignore them completely if we’re assuming they’re including comic canon into the universe. i hope jenny returns!!

third point - yeah! how crazy that maiko as izumi’s parents isn’t canon confirmed… though she’s so clearly mai’s daughter. i wonder if mai’s role will be expanded in upcoming projects / if she’ll be featured more. hmmm.

fourth - would honestly prefer this to the theory sokka is her father lol. it kinda baffles me that TOPH became a cop.. not bc she opposes authority - there’s something different about enforcing it than there is having to follow it. i can see toph in authoritative positions, and she fits them well. but i think it baffles me moreso because why would toph even work as a COP? isn’t that boring as hell for her?? go do something awesome like probending or professional underground fighting (adult blind bandit anyone?? this would make a good fic) or literally just construction idk i feel like toph isn’t a Hard Worker type that would want to be stuck in such a rigid career.

LAST TIME ON.....Power Rangers Hyperforce?  A bunch of crazy stuff happened that would take too long to explain because my god I am not rewatching all of those three-hour tabletop episodes just for a single one-shot book.  You just need to know there’s a team of rangers called Hyperforce that was mentored by Jen who went through a lot of shenanigans across their time stream until everything broke and they didn’t get a second season and everything sucks.  Also the pink ranger’s dad is the main bad guy and she works for him now.  Got that?  Okay.  Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce.

- first of all: going from referring to Spa’ark with he/him to they/them pronouns in the span of a panel makes me feel like the misgendering was an editor mistake, which........come on, guys

- second of all: it’s not a surprise that Taylor is the only one left considering her popularity but lbr her popularity is because she’s basically Wild Force’s version of Jen.  Jen, who was a main character in Shattered Grid.  sooooooo not helping the “this is just Shattered Grid” allegations

I've been thinking about this a lot as someone who loves this show but hates, hates, hates the way Jamie and his dad was handled, but over time I've come to like the Ted giving bad advice thing bc I think it's incredibly accurate to his character.

Ted adored his dad, right? He loved him so fucking much, loved all the time together, was the one who found him, and like - I think Ted harbours a lot of pain and regret for not seeing what his father was going through. He was old enough that there's no 'I was too young to realise' for him, he would've definitely had some level of awareness, and with Ted being Ted, well... there's no doubt he's carrying a lot of self blame for that situation.

So him giving Jamie that absolutely shitty advice? Half of it is Ted trying to get Jamie back in the game and encouraging him with what he thinks will work, because he knows Jamie needs to score a point to get himself back in Man City's good graces, to get the crowd on his side, for his own mental health. But how much of that is Ted, not seeing a kid who's endured abuse (and lbr he's seen very little of Jamie's Dad, and Jamie has been sharing with roy, not Ted) but seeing Little Ted, who desperately wants more time with his father, and not wanting that version of himself to totally lose out on his dad? That's Ted speaking to a version of himself, not Jamie.

Ultimately Ted is flawed. He has definitely failed Jamie in his advice, although the good things he's done for Jamie in general (making him a team player, allowing the good sides of him to take over from the arseholes sides, etc etc) shouldn't be pushed aside, that shitty advice is a very realistic portrayal of a very not-perfect person. I think that's what they were going for, but the way it was presented and managed was poorly handled.

genuine question. has ted ever given jamie a single good piece of advice regarding his father. ie “tough fathers drive people to become great” in 2x02, “reach out to ur garbage father” in mom city. do not let ted talk to people about family pls

some general tidbits:

Pess Edgeworth as she is in Kindred has an entire google doc explaining her genotype and phenotype, for what she looks like in the fic, because i am an Insufferable Nerd. here it is you're welcome

Kindred's writing and planning was actually split into 2 google docs; since I had such a big hiatus in the middle, and I have weird feelings about editing a doc if it's sat untouched for a long time (no idea why???) I started another one for [redacted] planning and post-hiatus writing come ch8.

I also had an entire spreadsheet for date and time math because otherwise i could not hold it all in my tiny peanut brain

[SPOILERS AHEAD FOR CHAPTER 8 ONWARDS]

Here's the story of why I made Kindred a casefic ;)

I had the Vibes for Kindred, and the eventual endpoint, in my head very early on. I knew I wanted a slow, soft, slow-burn, very character-focused and driven fic where I could zoom right in on what adopting a dog is actually like, and how that would interplay with Miles' brain and his past, and inflict some character development on him whether he liked it or not. That was beginning and midplot sorted. But the climax and ending worried me - I had a very certain feeling I couldn't do the Whole fic with just Pess' adoption as the inciting incident. This proved true when writing ch7 got very difficult - I was nearing a change in structure but I also sort of just ran out of things to talk about that fell in line with the daily format and mood of the fic. (Besides the Maya call. that's still one of my favourite parts of the entire thing) I couldn't keep going without zooming the fic out in time from day-to-day to likely the whole rest of the disbarment, bc lbr it'd take that long for Mies' adjustment in behaviour to bleed out from his relationship with Pess to his other relationships. And I knew that allowing the action to peter out in this way would probably make the bottom fall out of the end of the fic, when it should really be ratcheting tighter (which is something I'm VERY proud of in how Kindred turned out. plot tension is not something ive been excellent at in the past but I really got the effect I was going for in the end I think). I also had a dangling question I hadn't solved - where did Pess come from? Borzois are hardly common in America OR Japan, let alone Japanifornia, and it's highly unlikely to just trip over one in a shelter. There had to be something else - she'd been put there for a reason, and not by chance. (You can see where this is going).

The turning point: a cricket game.

I am not someone who enjoys Sports. but unfortunately i am Australian, and we are batshit for cricket, so it was on against my will in the background as i noodled on my brainstorming doc. all of a sudden I hear one of the umpires referred to by the commentators and sit bolt upright. "Is his name fucking Rifle?" I ask my dad with pure incredulity. "Yeah," he says, mildly annoyed and not at all realising why that is the coolest shit in the world and I am losing my mind. Turns out the guy has been around forever, actually used to play on the international team, and that's probably old news to anyone who actually follows cricket, but his name is Paul Reiffel and that was the funniest shit in the world to me. I immediately thought ...someone has to write a casefic using that name. ...what if it was me. ......what if kindred turned into a casefic. UH OH

Was scared shitless and not certain on actually doing that but I started planning it anyway, even if a casefic is the opposite of things in writing that I'm actually good at. (Remembering exact details and arranging a crime scene and alibis? amazed i made it through with only a 1 year hiatus. it should have taken me an entire lifetime) Pess being actually involved in the case (spoilers) wasn't in the works from the very start, but it did come into play very early because using that as a way to resolve All the plot threads was just a no-brainer.

Awww no problem <3 tbh I've always said that free is one of those that has so many nuances left bts that it's sometimes confusing for those who aren't as invested I think. Like there's so many important things that are left out and are in additional materials, that some has no idea what's going on at times. Like back in the days when some interpreted s2 in the opposite way bc of that one thing. My point is that not everyone is even watches stuff like recaps for example (where there are in fact new easter eggs and so many important things like Rin's dad death aftermath etc), and even less read novels and checked side stories and dramas.

For example, in books this Haru's issue about him thinking he's cursed and hurts everyone with his swimming is a huge thing, when Asahi "lost his ability to swim" after seeing Haru's free. But in SD it wasn't adressed at all tbh.

And what Haru feels for Rin is such tornado of emotions, that surprised even me with all the descriptions, bc like it's real bad. Like that part I posted from the chapter when Rin leaves is at least understandable, since he leaves. But the way he reacts to him in general even when he just appears in his sight is always described as if someone tortures him for real lol. And he's always like "pls someone save me, I don't know how to deal with this, bc I've never felt such emotions before".

So basically, like yeah, he's as it is has this thing, when he thinks of himself as some bad omen, so he's very sensitive about it, but since everything Rin-related feels x100000000 for him, its just... well, it hurt for a very long time and sadly was just overlooked by a certain someone, so here we are.

I think we all at first believed that bc Rin's so shocked and in disbelief that Haru could even think that it was his fault in some way:

that maybe they talked about it bts or smth like after the relay. But it seems like Rin either forgot or most likely I think he maybe thought that Haru understood without words? I'm just real sad still that Haru didn't get to hear this speech:

I mean, they made it look by the end of s1 that it was about relay, which partially yeah, but for Rin it was really about Haru. You see what he said.. he said that that 1x02 race with Haru alone.. what made him want to swim again. This whole speech was not only about the fact that Haru wasn't at fault that he quit swimming in the first place, but about the fact that Haru is his lucky charm, that makes everything better. AND WE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO HEAR THAT. So like for Haru it's to this day like "after I messed him up, Rin was saved with the power of friendship and a relay". But he was saved by Haru really. Bc according to s3 info, it was basically just about Haru being on the relay team. I don't try to demean their friendships or anything, but its just what it is.

And as I've said before in one post it's just fascinating that to this day Rin for example thinks that s1 shananigans were just about him and just his problem:

So like my point here is I also up to the end of s2 thought that maybe Rei or Rin told that to him, bc we seemed to move on to another problems, until in Kizuna we were shown that he still dreams about that scene of Rin leaving. s3 Hiyori just exposed the wound really.

But also once again see what he said there, it's not just about that one time he keeps reliving, aka his first come back, its really just about each time Rin was leaving. Like the very first one already was bad, the second was the worst, bc he thought he hurt him and thought that bc of him he quit swimming, others are just painful bc by then it was already another kind of feeling. I mean, I do think that this first Rin's return to Australia thing needs to be cleared up since it's obviously still haunting him. But again it's just part of this. Haru after the Australian trip and "I've always admired you" and "without you I have nothing to aim for" and after TYM goodbye when Rin told him that he doesn't need a surprise party and that just swimming with Haru before leaving is the greastest surprise for him, he knows already about the way Rin feels about swimming with him... I think the reason why everyone is freaking out here is that bc the way it's executed it's just really about him constantly missing him and "why am I always have to longingly watch you leave, while you seem fine." If he was in a free race, but wasn't on a relay team, he'd get the same reaction. Its just all seasons combined that brought us here. We already in 3x01 without Hiyori knew that he wasn't handling Rin being far away again good. So tbh it's logical even without any explanation really. I mean, Rin does indeed leave and come back as he pleases and does what he wants without holding back or sometimes thinking about consequences. There's no lie here.

It's like since the beginning for Rin it was like "I found the gorgeous guy I adore and I want to swim with, I'll transfer schools just to nag him into swimming with me, it's not like he's gonna care if I leave after that." (he literally in the book didn't think it was a big deal)

For Haru it was like "I lived just fine, but this guy stormed into my life, made me want things I didn't think I'd ever want, got me addicted to him and then dropped me like a hot potato".

Rin's just very passionate about life and things he wants, like Haru for example, but he's really also very unobservant and very clueless at times.

But like just bc he doesn't know about Haru's existential crisis and all the pain he's truly in when he's leaving, doesn't change the fact that he at times didn't even treat him as a simple friend (because they can't be just friends I KNOW), but still things like "you could've called" "well sorry, I guess I'm just not good at it" are probably hurtful, considering the fact that you are good at it with everyone else tho, Rin sweetie. Like thanks for avoiding us the most and holding back and visiting us the last each time, we feel real special. Haru is like the opposite, he doesn't call anyone for example, but he can call Rin in the middle of the night if needed, he always does for Rin smth that's completely out of his comfort zone.

It's like some say "Rin didn't know he wanted him to call" or "he didn't know Haru felt guilty". He did know he wanted him to call and he didn't know Haru felt guilty and stopped swimming competitively when he stopped swimming, but then Rei told him and Natsuya in 3x03 reminded him about this too. Its just the fact that he doesn't want to add 1+1 and thinks "well, there's no way I can affect Haru like that right?", "he can't be that upset about Rin Matsuoka, right?". While facts are he IS literally the only one who affects Haru in such huge way. It's like everyone else can just pass him by and it's nothing, but he walks by and it's a whole "asdfghgfdsa why my body is on fire, its just Rin who's just standing there".

And I'm also buffled by this thing that some people really say stuff like "where did this come from, they were perfectly fine" etc, as if they ever had normal "friendship" relationship. I'm like when did they ever behave themselves okay? In 3x03 Rin is dying to call Haru, but can't do it, while he's constantly texting everyone including Nagisa. First thing he says in the airport when he comes back is "I'm home, Haru" to air, but then goes to hang out with Makoto and Sousuke, desperately looking for an excuse to see the one whom he from the beginning, as it was shown wanted to see the most, but in his opinion can’t without a reason. It's only when Makoto tells him that Haru was upset about Albert he quickly rans off out of there bc "hooray, I have an excuse to see my bae”. Like we know from the airport scene that he wanted to see Haru the most. If they're so as people say were doing great, than how do you exlain all of their s2 and s3 behavior for real? It's like as if in TYM Haru didn't lose his shit from some gossip about persimmons. I mean, they never settled anything really. And Haru is constantly scared of Rin leaving again since forever.

So it's complicated, but yes, we're super excited for p2, bc asdfghjhgfds.

Hmmm the au im probably most attached to is my Kenstar Gregco party boy au because I feel like they really missed some good opportunities with Kendall and Greg. If they would have deepened the relationship between them it would have hit far harder when Greg turns on him and when Kendall calls him a parasite

(Tw: mentions of drug use, addiction, etc)

(It could have also been more of a obvious turning point for Greg morality wise because he’s turning on someone he genuinely is close too and loves him and vice versa) .

It doesn’t hit particularly hard in the show because they’ve never really given them any meaningful emotional scenes with them truly bonding.

And that’s a shame because I can see where it could have fit in there. I feel Ken was in a really vulnerable place here, he’s estranged from his dad and all of his siblings.

And so in this au Ken kind of latches onto Greg, big brother instincts kicking in. He’s his little (okay not so little) cousin and he’s the only one on his side.

Greg latches on back because as we know he’s deeply desperate for affection and some sort of familial relationship. It’s like having a big brother.

Ken is more genuine with his care here. He wants to look after Greg in his way but he’s also still Ken and prone to self destruction and it all goes to shit for both of them

(Greg is also in a slightly vulnerable position himself because Nic does say the Greg Sprinkles thing was a turning point for Greg because he really did realize they don’t give a shit about him. That’s how little they think of him. It’s partly why he chose to go with Ken.)

I just see a lot of potential here, if they’d let Greg actually have a close relationship with Kendall here. It could have been good for both characters. (Well not good per se but in a character development and exploration sense)

But yeah for my own purposes it’s a lot of Greg whump I admit it. (And I do truly love Ken too. I was honestly disappointed by how lacking in substance the brief Ken and Greg team up thing was)

So like I said they end up becoming really close but here’s the thing Ken is on his own spiral of self destruction and Greg is getting pulled along for the ride.

And it’s fun at first. Ken’s parties. It’s drugs, drinking wild parties and all the stuff that is fun at first.

And a lot of this came about from me building on Greg’s “I don’t do white drugs!” and how he’s gone from that to asking Roman for bumps in bathrooms in canon. And I feel that could have been a much bigger and much more tragic arc.

(Especially if his mother has an addiction problem like some people theorize)

And how Ken’s influence could have become much worse during their team up. Lbr I can totally see him encouraging him to do drugs with him. It’s not a big deal he tells himself. It’s good to see Greg loosen up and have fun. They have fun together. They’re both riding the high of thinking they’re these rebels with a good cause and getting one over on Logan.

I think about how Nic says Greg never feels safe. How he said nothing feels good for Greg, everything is bad all the time and he just wants something that feels good in his life. That’s..a dangerous combo with something like drugs.

And Ken, oh Ken, recklessly encourages this. Not because he wants to ruin Greg but because he wants someone he cares about and who cares about him by his side. He’s a Roy and he’s selfish. He doesn’t think about potential consequences because he doesn’t want to. He kind of needs him at this point. He’s not going to tell him to leave even if maybe he should.

(And if he feels guilty when things start getting bad he tries to push it down and pretend he doesn’t see himself in Greg. Pretend he isn’t partially responsible for this)

And as they grow closer Greg does open up to Ken too (sighs in I wish they’d let Greg be emotionally vulnerable in the show. He’s clearly got his own bundle of issues) and lbr Ken doesn’t know how to properly support him when he’s spiraling himself. To him giving Greg a line and saying “here. It’ll make you feel better, man.” Is a kindness.

Tom is naturally a part of this au of course. Oho I am a sucker for hurt/comfort okay

Tom is still pretty damn set on getting Greg to come back to his side but here Greg is more stubborn. It’s extremely frustrating for him.

And he feels an odd sort of twinge of worry whenever he checks Greg’s social media and it’s pictures of him Ken and they’re both clearly fucking stoned out of their minds. When Greg tells him stories that are apparently supposed to be funny but just make Tom’s stomach turn for some reason.

He just can’t shake the worry he’s going to end up like Ken.

And he gets more concerned when every time he shows up at Greg’s apartment it’s some kind of fucking party and Greg is either snorting god knows what or already too stoned and drunk to make much sense of what Tom is trying to say to him

And Tom tries to think well, Greg is young right? (People forget he’s supposed to be at the very most like 25) So of course he’s out partying?

And he calls Tom often when he’s high because he’s in love with Tom and says things he’d never say sober. (Never a explicit confession though. Greg doesn’t even realize what these feelings are or he’s refusing to think about it)

And it’s still Tom Greg calls when it’s not so fun anymore. (If he’s not quite able he always asks for Tom. Ken doesn’t get it but he calls him nonetheless…or maybe he does but he chooses not to ask any questions about that)

It’s Tom that notices the white powder on his suit at work and it’s Tom he snaps at, getting defensive, when he brings it up.

Greg doesn’t appreciate his “do you want to end up like Ken?” Because here he kind of idolizes him if only because Ken seems to be the only member of his family to love him. (And he does in this au but he’s just so fucked up)

(Yeah Tom is technically family too but he doesn’t really consider Tom family in the same way he does his cousins obviously. They’re not blood related. It’s through his marriage to Shiv)

And If it was once or twice maybe Tom could brush it off but it keeps happening. More and more frequently over time. And it gets more concerning.

Ken is spiraling. Just like in canon it gets increasingly worse. He’s been spiraling for a very long time but Greg is along for the ride on his own fall.

I’ll stop here because I have SO MANY Greg whump scenarios for this au okay skfjdkk. Also I love building on his daddy issues (and mommy issues too) and exploring those. Etc.

"uncle matt" headcanons:

when the fox kids are young they absolutely adore him and he's everyone's favorite out of the aunts and uncles, a fact that he is insanely smug of but drives Allison and Nicky insane and has them trying to bribe the poor children into saying "aunt Alli is my favourite" or "i love uncle Nicky the mostest" on camera

he's literally just so fun tho and that's why the kids can't get enough of him, like:

he's easy to make laugh (and boy does he have the best fucking laugh), he'll run around with them for hours, he lets them get away with things that their parents don't allow, he tells the best stories, etc

he frequently nearly gives both Dan and Aaron heart attacks because he's always throwing the kids up in the air and catching them

he and Kevin will also throw the kids back and forth between them.. this is usually the point when Aaron and Dan turn around and pretend they cannot see but the kids are giggling so it's all good

whenever he babysits and there's an exy game on that he wants to watch he'll make an event out of it with the kids so they stay entertained

if it was Neil, Kevin or Andrews game and they win he'll record a video of the kids celebrating and send it to them

when any kids are brought to his games he's always excited to give them the proper vip experience and will show them around while they're sat on his shoulders

(his own kids are already practically considered part of the team and his teammates know to give any of his "nieces and nephews" the same treatment)

Kevin has a daughter that's the same age as matt's girl and they're besties from birth (cousin friendships are the best lbr) which means a lot of playdates

which means a lot of matt/Kevin playdates

which they both appreciate because with schedules and shit the foxes sometimes go longer than they'd like without being able to see each other face to face

anyway during one of these playdates, they each have the other's daughter sat on their laps (kevin's daughter immediately climbed onto matt and Kevin called her a traitor to her own blood even as he scooped up matt's kid) as they watch a movie or one of neils games or something

Kevin gets riled up by the game, squeezing or bouncing his niece accordingly with the rhythm of it and making her giggle

at one point he shouts angrily as neils opponent scores and matt looks at his niece with his mouth exaggeratedly open and says "your dad has a bad mouth" and they turn and wag their fingers at Kevin and both girls are laughing

matts energy usually crashes pretty soon after the kids' and more than once a fox has showed up to pick up their kid and found them knocked out with matt on the couch, his arms wrapped protectively around them (unbeknownst to matt, they take pictures of him like that and send them to Dan and she fonds over every one)

sometimes he'll sit the kids on his lap and "let them" drive around the neighborhood.. Renee and allison's boy LOVES this

as they get older and actually start driving, he's one of the first people they tell when they get their licenses

he teaches some of them how to drive stick.. he keeps the shitty run down manual that Dan is always begging him to get rid of specifically for this purpose

sometimes Andrew partakes in this, claiming he does so just to correct matt's teaching techniques.. matt grins and the kids love it

once they start getting phones and shit, he keeps track of all his nieces and nephews numbers.. the kids always know they can text/call/facetime him and he's proved time and time again that he'll always be there because family is the most important thing in the world to matt boyd and that is exactly what they are

dont know why, but i find soo sweet how Barry look at Nora when she say she should have stop Bart and she was his older sister, was supposed to keep him save... like, proud dad of two moment

#prouddadbarry was all over this episode and I lived for it. While it’s obviously significant in any capacity for them seeing a child from the future, there’s an extra layer seeing two of them I think that this episode highlighted that s5 could not. Because with two kids instead of one you’re getting to see how the two of them interact with each other, which lbr, is gonna give you more insight into who they all than how they interact with their parents in the past, which is going to be a little awkward by nature. But a brother sister team that time travels together? That were raised together, that do day to day things together regularly? It’s natural, it’s not ridden with secrets and it gives real insight not only to their relationship but to their whole family dynamic. They argued as a brother and sister would but were clearly 100% there for and supportive of each other and I think we wouldn’t have really seen as much of their parents shine in them if we didn’t get to see the natural relationship between the two of them. 

Like that’s Literally what dinner at the West-Allen household looks like all the time and we get to see it.
