"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Formula 1 testing week. The cars will be back on track in a few moments."; David Croft declares, looking over at Martin Brundle:" There is so much to look forward to and I am so thankful that Nico Rosberg is going to join us as well in a couple of minutes.“

Martin nods at the screen:“ And looks like Hamilton has just got into his car. I cannot lie to you, I am so excited to finally be able to look over some official data. After all those rumors of potential leaks were flooding the internet.“

„Red suits him amazingly.“, his colleague adds, making him laugh. „Looks like someone else is also amazed by him in-.“

„Good morning, guys!“, a voice cuts him off:“ Can you see me?“ The two men both turn their heads to the screen, catching sight of a grinning Nico. „Yes, hi!“, David says:“ It‘s so good to see you! How are you?“

„I‘m doing good.“, The blonde answers:“ But I fear, I interrupted you, Martin.“ He chuckles. „No, you didn't. I just wanted to point out that Y/N Vettel is in Hamilton's garage this morning as well.“ The image on the screen changes to the outside of Hamilton's garage, where Y/N is standing next to a couple of engineers. She’s wearing the signature red Ferrari jacket, while looking around the site.

„The last few months must’ve been tough.“

„Well, Nico. You know both personally. What’s your opinion?“

The blonde man sighs:“ Well, it’s important to remember that this isn’t really any of our business. Plus Y/N has a great relationship with her brother, and his opinion means everything to her. We all know how highly he speaks about him, so I believe if anything he’s happy she’s with a guy like Lewis. If they‘re both happy, I‘m happy. Everyone else should think the same about them.“

What the Lost Boys think of vampire related media pt.2

After your last vamp media talk you had more questions you absolutely needed the answers to. Some of those answers came more naturally than you thought.

What we do in the Shadows:

-This is their absolute favorite show. It's just something they can all sit down to watch and get a nice laugh.

-David was actually the one that suggested it to the group

-He thinks it's about as close to what being a really vampire is like.

-You brought up your last conversation about why no vampire media could be so close to the real thing and he quickly responded with “Vampires are made up to be these gross demon creatures with no self control, when in fact most vampires were just normal humans going about their life.”

-He knew that no one in this show actually knows any vampires because of inconsistencies, but it's as close to it as they can all get without having to kill anyone for it.

-”Are you off your tits, boy?” “He is.”

-Paul quotes the show all the damn time (And so do the others but he is the main culprit.)

-you actually can't get him to stop

-”I became a vampire to suck blood and to fuck forever.”

-”No fuck off. Can't be side tracked with cheap sex potions.”

-Need an answer to any questions? Paul will respond with “Coprophilia.”

-Marko is giggling at Paul's quotes and answers with his own

Kid vampire:

-They all watch it because Laddie wanted them too

-All you can hear for the next few days is “Kid Vampire!” in that accent

-David and Dwayne thought the bogger nose bleed drink was absolutely disgusting.

-Like to the point the both gagged.

-Paul thinks it a cute little project

-Marko likes how they say ‘blood’

-Dwayne uses the song “Vampire brush” to get Laddie to brush his teeth

Monster High:

-Marko and Paul sing the theme song semi consistently

-”Monster-monster high! monster high! monster-monster high! Freaky, sheek, and fly, monster high, where student bodies lay.”

-”We got spirits, yes we do! We got spirits, how bout you!?”

-This is another show they all watch with Laddie

-David isn't a raving fan, but he can stand it

-”Draculaura is a bit of a lazy name.” “Clawdeen wolf? Lagona blue? Cleo De Nile? Everyone has a lazy name because it's a kids show!”

-Dwayne is secretly into it and asks Laddie to watch it with him so he has an excuse

So I have a few Gillovny thoughts running around in my head...

I wrote this years ago and never posted it so I decided this was as good a time as any to get it out.

The general consensus is that D&G hooked up from day one. They auditioned, then fell into bed but I have a different take, so hear me out.

Gillian is young and wants to make an impression, she knows she wasn't the first pick for Scully so she tries extra hard. David was there to help as he had more experience and I'm sure he found her intriguing. Plus G had to have found out about his reputation and the fact he also had a girlfriend in LA. I suspect she wouldn't have wanted to start an affair with her co-star and break up a relationship day one, especially after we heard how she felt when her boyfriend cheated on her. She also said later that David was dangerous and to her, I bet he was. She knew once the line was crossed there would be no going back.

Jump forward a few years and things have certainly changed and I believe this is when the party started, as it were. Though I think they both had feelings for each other early on (D&Gs comments in the ET interview about getting hurt) they didn't act until S3-ish. There is a definite shift and they just didn't hide the fact they were happy together. I really think things would have been fine if Gillian hadn't started to outshine David. Clearly they are both head over heals for each other but David was always the star, lead actor, top billing on TXF until now. When they are both winning awards, it was fine but G surpassed him and I bet things got tense. How else to you explain going from hot and heavy, S3 wrap party and the Golden Globes, to David marrying Tea a few months later (and yes G won an Emmy an D didn't). I've always thought David saw an opportunity to distance himself from Mulder and Scully by getting a wife outside the fandom and more of a movie star/power couple thing, that he couldn't have openly with Gillian. Sadly you can see how it hurt G so another reason to believe the really were a couple at this time.

On to S7. I suspect Tea found out soon enough that D was in love with G, it's pretty hard to hide. You can again see a shift in their on screen work too. David writes Amor Fati, those words meant something to him and he wanted to say them to Gillian. His whole, "let's move the show to LA so I can sleep with my wife" was super harsh but what I found funny is during Paley how absolutely torn up he was that G dated Rodney during this time. It proves to me that even though he broke it off with G, he still felt jealous of her with someone else. Also let's not forget there were lots of rumblings about D&T and their stormy relationship and I thought for sure they would break up after West was born but then there was Miller. Not surprisingly G moves out of LA and out of the US in 2002.

2006 is a turning point again. Gillian really struggled after the show ended, the Julian mess and the bad press, she was lost and David was too. Gillian not being at arm's reach in LA was hard on him. I believe she was (and is, his tether). Anyway, D&G reconnect with talks for IWTB and I know the whole conspiracy theory around Mark. I really don't know how I feel about that, tbh but I think the Phoenix rose from the ashes and Gillovny was reborn during IWTB. Thankfully by 2008 D&T were over and I think Mark was too, if the premieres are any indication.

By 2010, Gillian is at David's play and we get some of the best Gillovny evidence by way of the birthday press announcements, (David's, Gillian's and Felix's) these cannot be coincidental, not by a long shot. As the next few years played out you had the 20th anniversary cons and events. There are sightings, blinds and denials, denials, denials (ps. No need to deny if it wasn't true). The fandom was so whipped up by the time S10 rumors started you could have lit up NY with all the social media energy! Life was good for Gillovny, Gillian working in the US and Canada, close to David. David writing and has free time to go where G is, good times folks, good times. So what happened to the love in 2016?

This is a touchy subject but I really think D&G are still together in 2016 but Gillian wanted to make one last push at stardom. I think she has more she wants to say but is running out of time, in her mind. So, here is what I think happened. Gillian wants to stick closer to London, there are too many eyes in the US and she wants to establish herself as someone other than Dana Scully. She makes a deal with Netflix and part of the deal was to clean up PMs image. She never thought the 'love' connection would happen. I base this on the schmoopie shirt, she did that on purpose so there would be no doubt where her heart lay. This is proven by the total lack of credible press. As days went on and David was still single and looked fine (supposedly after losing G) and Gillian looked like she was going in for a root canal every time she was with PM.

This is where I stopped writing way back then, fitting I guess since the fandom crashed and burned after that. In the crazy world of D&G, we suddenly ended up in 24-25 with a Podcast visit and a cute Gillovny awards show presentation and suddenly everything is right with the world again.

I love your writings dude! Sm! Seeing some laddie hcs from you would be sick! You don’t see much of him from the movie, nor the book even if it adds a little bit more. I feel like they focus on star more. Maybe his dynamic with the boys and stuff? How was he found? Who is he closest with, probably Dwayne and Paul tbh. Also do you think he knows he’s a half vampire? I feel like he would be more scared of David and Marko, mostly David. What does he like to do for fun since he literally lives under a rock. Does he have the same music taste as the boys, can he watch films, can he read and what does he like to read? Also does he have any friends or is he just with Star and the boys all the time. I feel like that would be no because maybe parents o the boardwalk wouldn’t want their children around the boys. I have these kinds of thoughts all the time, about the boys and Star too but with the hcs and fics I can read I feel like I can piece them together better than laddie considering there’s little writing about him. (A funny thing too, would the boys try to not cuss around laddie? I feel like Paul would do it on purpose so Star would get mad or something)

General laddie hcs

I HC Laddie as the star's younger brother, and when she got involved with the boys at first, she was having a good time. Then something happened to their parents and Laddie was going to be put into the system which Star didn't want to happen so she wanted to leave and David wouldn't let her so she made a deal with him to take Laddie so that she would stay Laddie is indeed closest to Dwayne because he and Laddie have similar personalities. Laddie is kinda quiet and pretty shy for a kid his age and Dwayne Remembers that when he was that age he was very similar. Laddie also likes Paul a lot cause Paul has a little bit of a soft spot for kids and he's the one that spoils Laddie. if Laddie sees something on the boardwalk, and he wants it. He's going to Paul cause he knows Paul will make it happen even if Star or Dwayne say no. Dwayne kinda helps Star raise Laddie cause he saw her struggling with him at first and decided to help. They are basically besties who share a kid. Now, laddie mostly Avoids David because after David took (kidnapped) him, laddie became attached to him at the hip. After all, he was just grateful to be with his sister again. But David was not having it. He wasn't trying to be an ass he just didn't want to get attached to the kid Cause he knew that with the life they lived he may not survive and he just didn't want that on his conscious so he pushed him away. Now Marko kinda freaks Laddie out a bit because Marko can be a bit..unstable. Marko Can have these really drastic and really sudden mood swings, It doesn't help that Marko will lowkey be really good with Laddie for a little bit, like showing him artwork, helping fix His stuff to suddenly just freaking the fuck out whenever Laddie comes up to him so he just Avoids marko. Laddie absolutely loves playing games with the boys and star.his favorites are physical/board games due to the cave not having electricity. He LOVES hide and seek.His all-time favorite. Some nights star will help him convince the other boys to all go outside to play with him. Another favorite of laddies is tag.But he doesn't like playing with the boys cause they are a lot faster than he is, But he does play with Star,and when Max allows it, he loves playing tag with Thorn. He also likes going To maxs house cause he can watch Scooby doo.It's his favorite show He also absolutely loves watching Jem and the holograms As well! laddie also likes to make up his own games.However, some of his games start to worry Star because they are a bit violent, and it makes her wonder if some of the things he's hearing may be influencing him wrong. Especially when Laddie ran up to her with a ripped-up teddy bear and asked her if she thought the Bear learned its lesson yet. She snatched that bear so quick- and then she had a long ass talk with him about no more torturing teddies When asked why he did it, and all Laddie said was that “he didn't like how it talked to his friends.” She thought that was weird cause Laddie didn't have any human friends. It's not that he's not allowed to have them but he just doesn't try to make them. After that whole deal though, star and dwayne Were talking and decided that everyone should start watching what they say around the kid Cause it's clearly fucking with him. Laddie Hates the censorship. He's at that age where hes in the “I'm not a little kid anymore” stage. He just wants to be part of the gang. So he goes to eavesdropping. He hears a lot of stuff he shouldn't, and it's also how he ends up learning he's a half-vampire. Laddie honestly didn't know what an actual vampire was. He had only heard the dumbed-down kid story versions of vampires but he was still scared. The boys also influence Laddie's music taste a lot. He loves all kinds of rock/metal cause of Them.they are his biggest role models so what they like. Laddie likes. Music, style, hobbies, if they like it, so does he. After learning the boys are vampires though all laddie wants is to be one which really makes it hard for star to resist giving into the pressure.

Would love to hear your shanty and traditional folk song recommendations! I’m a huge fan of the less polished and produced recordings, and I feel like I always get my best music recommendations from those who are pretentious about the genre!

Oh neat! Happy to show you some of my favorites. It should be noted that while there was a time I was academically pretentious about sea shanties, I am now merely pretentious about sea shanties in a way that is very subjective, so if these shanties don't really fit your style, please enjoy the covers that do.

I also wasn't really trying to dunk on the Johns too hard, TLJ are good I like their music a lot, they just sound far too pretty for what I believe a shanty should feel like.

So without further ado.

TLDR: I MADE A PLAYLIST WITH MY RECOMMENDATIONS YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT HERE

I can't rightfully recommend shanties without recommending the recordings by David Coffin. He's a household name (in cool households) but his voice is just so good. His famous recording of Roll The Old Chariot Along is classic and has made me cry multiple times, but some of his live albums have a good selection of shanties and folk songs, and they have that lovely resonant chorus revel feel to them.

Storm Weather Shanty Choir has some of my favorite shanty recordings of all time. Especially Haul Away Joe and South Australia. The rest of their stuff is really good though so listen to some of that too.

Bully In The Alley by Morrigan is my favorite track from Classic Maritime Music From Smithsonian Folkways, and that's a pretty good compilation of shanties.

Blood Red Roses by Sting is my favorite recording of that shanty. I especially love the stomping as accompaniment (even though it isn't really a capstan shanty but oh well). fun fact: the original lyrics seem to be "come down you bunch of roses" and was changed to "blood red roses" when A. L. Loyd recorded it, and everyone else copied him. This text also references lyrics to Sally Brown

The Lost Quays also have some nice live performances on youtube which sound really nice

While not strictly sea shanties, music by the Georgia Sea Island Singers will probably appeal to you. They record traditional African American/Gullah spirituals and work songs which are really beautiful. They do a Pay Me My Money Down which is a song created by black dockworkers in Georgia later adopted as a sea chantey.

These also really aren't sea shanties, but I thought you might like them. These are Faroese Dancing Ballads and they rule. Got that nice resonant, chantey quality with a lead singer and then everyone joining in on the chorus. It's a great time. I love them.

Back to the shanties. You've probably (definitely) listened to these already, but the Assassins Creed Black Flag soundtrack is full of solid shanty recordings. That are both cleanly produced and earnestly sung. Lowlands Away is my favorite.

Street's Friend Reggie

Summary: Street has a friend who seems to know a lot about a lot. Reggie always comes with information when 20-David least expects it, but no one's seen or even heard him before. So what happens when he comes to HQ unannounced?

CW: discussions about drug dealing, gun dealing, and other crimes - canon level tbh, more to come throughout the series though.

Dead ends in a case weren't favorable. Anytime 20-David faced some kind of roadblock, they could always find a way around it. As the team leader, Hondo was always thinking of the next step. The crook they were after was smart, so he and his team needed to be smarter. The only drawback was that their man was an ace at hiding in plain sight and they'd lost their eyes on him, so everyone was wracking their brains to figure out what to do next. 

“We need to figure out where Jones is before he makes a move, he could try to flee and then we'll be out of luck,” Deacon said, putting down his work tablet and looking at everyone. “He could take the drugs with him and they'll be gone before we know it.” 

“We just have to think like him,” Hondo said, arms crossed over his chest. “Where would he go or who could he get in contact with to lay low for a while?” 

“He's got a long list of friends, too many to talk to individually,” Chris sighed as she scrolled through known associates of their suspect. “We could split them up, divide and conquer.” 

“That would still take too long,” Tan said as he looked at the list over her shoulder. “He'll hear us knocking on doors and split.” 

“And they'll cover his tracks for him,” Luca added, displeased with where this was headed. 

“I've got a friend who might know something,” Street interjected, causing everyone to look at him. “What?” 

“Does this friend have a record?” Hondo asked. 

“No.” 

“Are they in Long Beach, because that won't help us much,” Deacon said. 

“No.” 

“Are they an informant?” Tan asked. 

“Not exactly.” 

Hondo sighed and nodded to him. “Get in contact with this friend of yours. If they have anything useful, we'll run with it.” He turned to everyone else. “For now, we'll start with Jones’ associates, get eyes on them, and see where that takes us.” 

Street grinned as he slipped his phone from his pocket. As everyone else got to work, he dialed the number, walking away once the call was answered. “Hey, Reggie! I need a favor…” 

The team watched him as his voice faded. Once he was out of earshot, Hondo shook his head. “I hope this doesn't come back to bite us.” 

The information Reggie provided was more than helpful. Street returned with a big smile and informed his teammates that Fredrick Jones wasn't with an associate listed in their records but at an old girlfriend's place. When asked how Reggie the not-really-an-informant got that information, Street shrugged and said, “I don't really ask how Reggie gets in touch with these people.” 

It was a half lie. He did know, but he'd rather not know. 

He quickly pushed all the looks and questions aside, aiming to get on with going after Jones and arresting him. So, he pulled up an aerial map of the address he'd looked up for the ex and showed it to his teammates. “Well?” 

Hondo looked at him and smirked. “Alright, let's go.” Then he pointed at him. “But we're not done talking about your friend Reggie.” 

But they never did get to have that follow-up conversation. After Jones was apprehended, things moved fast. Before they knew it, they were onto the next case, saving the next person, preventing the next tragedy. Life went on. 

It was a couple of months later that anyone in S.W.A.T. heard the name Reggie again. 

Street walked in with knitted brown and a frown. His team was currently on standby, working less active cases to pass the time as nothing was urgent until he caught up to Hondo as he was walking toward the kitchen. 

“Hey, so Reggie gave me a call this morning and said something weird is going on in the neighborhood of a coworker,” he explained, knowing it sounded out there and unreliable. “A black van was backed into a driveway and the coworker said they saw the neighbor loading a lot of crates into the back.” 

“Why didn't the coworker call it in?” Hondo asked skeptically. 

“Reggie said they were scared, that this neighbor hasn't been the same since his wife died and didn't want it to come back to him if anyone looked into it,” he explained. 

Hondo stopped and turned to Street in the hall. “Did he actually witness this happening or is Reggie just sending the message? How do I know we can trust this guy?” 

Street opened his mouth to reply but then his phone dinged and he dug into his pocket to see what it was. He smirked as he watched the screen for a moment, then turned the phone to his leader. 

On display was a video of the aforementioned black van from a distance. It was backed into the driveway of a nice-looking home, but it wasn't too fancy or expensive. There were a few hedges and trees in the way, but there was a gap just big enough to see a man loading what looked to be a heavy crate into the back of the van. The video went on for a moment without anything happening, then he appeared to move another crate into the van, shut the doors, walked around to the driver's side, and got behind the wheel. 

Hondo looked up from the device and at Street. “Alright, who is this guy?” 

“I don't know,” he said, then looked at his phone as he got another message. “But, according to Reg, this is the second time he's done this. Something's up.” 

“I don't disagree,” Hondo said and nodded toward the phone. “See if Reggie can get the address of this neighbor and get the team together. And tell your friend we'll look into it.” 

Street smiled as he looked down to send a text. 

The neighbor, as it turned out, was selling illegal weapons out of his home in large quantities. His wife had been the breadwinner and once she died, he didn't want to get a real job, so he got involved in smuggling and selling weapons to gangs and anyone who wanted high-powered guns.

When he was arrested, he was erratic and non-compliant. He shot at the police when they came to his home and found himself getting taken down by Deacon. The man swore like a sailor, worse than one even, and explained that all he knew how to do was guns. Guns guns guns. He wouldn't shut up about how much his wife had hated them, so when she died, he was finally able to have them again. They later found out that he had blown all his savings on them and needed a way to provide for himself and his habit of collecting weapons. 

Now, S.W.A.T. was on the hunt for all of those weapons while he would be charged. And it was thanks to Reggie, who allegedly gave the credit to the coworker who had shared their concerns. They remained anonymous when it was time to go to trial but Reggie made a promise to Street to keep an ear out about any illegally obtained guns. 

As time went on, the team either heard of Reggie from Street or didn't hear of Reggie at all. It piqued everyone's interest, especially since the tips they were given always led to something. Whether it was an accomplice or a threat that eventually got them to the bigger picture, Reggie was aware of a lot.

He was a mystery to all, quickly earning him the joking nickname of Urban Legend around S.W.A.T. HQ. 

It was a quiet day, so everyone was using their time wisely to catch up on case information, help where they could, or train to keep their bodies in tip-top shape. Luca and Chris were in the boxing ring, taking turns practicing their punches. It was Luca's turn to hit the mitts when a woman walked by, looking around as if lost. He couldn't help but stare at her, as she was gorgeous. 

She was in her mid to late twenties and dressed to the nines. Her blouse was simple yet elegant, cut only low enough to show off some of her natural assets while her jeans hugged every curve snuggly. She wore a pair of no-nonsense combat boots that were laced up, almost but not quite hiding her periwinkle socks. She had on little jewelry aside from a locket resting on her collarbone and a few bracelets. Her hair was a tousled mess of blonde waves, a bit unruly, but it fit her perfectly. It went down to her shoulder blades and was tossed about over her shoulders as she walked. A small backpack hung from her shoulders, giving her the look of a tourist or a woman on an adventure. 

Her brow was furrowed with worry as she looked around the building, slowly making her way through as she searched for something that wasn't there. Upon seeing her so lost, Luca dropped his arms, nodded to the woman, and walked past Chris. He stopped at the edge of the boxing ring and called out to her. 

“Need any help?” he asked. 

The woman turned to him and pushed a strand of hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. “Yes, actually. I'm looking for Jim Street.”

OH I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!!!!!! i'm gonna tryyyyy and take this seriously

starting off i think alfred's music taste influences just about everyone in the manor to some degree. lots of classical music flowing through the hallways at most hours of the day, the music reminds everyone of home. i think it's a general rule of thumb in the family that if you want to locate alfred, just follow the sound of mozart.

drawing off a bit of canon, i think dick listens to a lot of popular 80s stuff. the cure, joy division, the b-52s, billy joel, abba etc. that one panel of him humming 'here comes the sun' also comes to mind, i think he'd enjoy the beatles. however i do think he'd also be into some soft rock, maybe just a little bit of more intense stuff too. fleetwood mac's a big one i think he'd like. i've mentioned in a post before how i think dick would enjoy foo fighters in his post-robin rebellion phase, and i stand by that.

i do also enjoy his insane love for david bowie in the live-action titans adaption... very dear to me. i take that as gospel. also have a slight feeling he's a bit of a jazz guy once in a blue moon.

i think he'd also enjoy amy winehouse, the boys next door, no doubt, alice in chains, and maybe a bit of lorde. he's definitely into more indie bands too, local stuff. makes his own mixtapes and you'd only be able to recognise like 20% of the bands by name. he's also the one batfam member who i think would go to war to defend the songs he feels deeply about.

tim's a bit more difficult to narrow down, but i'll throw 90s alternative out there; jimmy eat world, oasis, radiohead, weezer, pearl jam type stuff. i'm also very set in my ways about femme-pop tim, which is definitely more out there and harder to justify. in terms of that i think beyonce, rihanna, and britney spears are the big three he'd enjoy.

i just think he likes anything with a beat tbh, it's not so much about genre or the actual song, as it is about the mood. similarly to dick, i don't think he's typically meticulous with defining his taste or anything, just happy to listen to whatever's making him feel good.

as for damian, i think anything with soothing instruments entices him. mainly classical, but not just limited to european stuff, i'm thinking of tyagaraja, toru takemitsu etc just off the top of my head. he'd also like elton john, queen, and other older artists with a polished vocal and avantgarde nature. i'm also going to put cartoon soundtrack music into the mix, specifically songs from adventure time. for whatever reason i'm also super drawn into the idea of him being big on kpop, although i don't know enough about the genre to make specific assumptions.

steph (ik she's not exactly batfam but i'm including her anyways) listens to predominantly female artists, and oscillates between very uplifting pop stuff, and.. societal hatred. so i think on one hand she's very into marina and the diamonds, kesha, and olivia rodrigo, but also paramore, hole, fiona apple, lorde etc. in contrast to all of that though she's also a huge fan of the beatles' solo careers, particularly paul mccartney.

cass is into a lot of the music she's done for ballet performances. the music for the snow queen instantly comes to mind as something that would be a favourite of hers. this might be a bit out there, but i think she'd enjoy grimes a lot, mostly because of how enriching it is to just listen to the sounds of, without having to pay much mind to the words she's speaking (grimes never really makes a lot of sense anyways). apart from that i don't think she really listens to all that much music, maybe some 2000s pop she hears on the radio driving around with steph.. i did enjoy the all star gag in batgirls (2022).

So unlucky for me that I fixated on carol peletier and daryl dixon when catching up on twd last year, and now I'm personally affected rather than just casually disappointed by the shit show amc did to the spinoff.

I'm actually so done tbh. I've heard enough "daryl's show" to convince me it's not worth my time.

The scene where "Just run away together?" "Be pirates, heck yeah" "Head out west" "New Mexico" "The hell's in New Mexico?" "People who weave bracelets" was the moment my ears perked up. That's when I got excited for the future of these two characters.

And the moment I saw 'DARYL DIXON', my excitement dropped entirely. I didn't hear any announcements about Carol not being part of it anymore, I just accidentally saw a trailer halfway through watching season 10. And 'DARYL DIXON' after all the New Mexico hints in season 10 just confused me entirely. I thought it meant Carol was going to die. I couldn't think of any other explanation. But either way, it was deeply disappointing.

The 'running away together' scene finally made me feel valued as a viewer because these were my two favourite characters, and it always felt like the show didn't acknowledge how good they were together before that. 'DARYL DIXON' felt like we went straight back to how it was before. All I can say is it didn't resonate with me.

But now we've had two seasons of "Daryl's show" and Carol is so firmly positioned as his side character. AMC is doing nothing to rebrand it and market them as equals. And now it will always be the show that Carol joined later on. It will always be the show with all this drama surrounding it. And people will always call it "Daryl's show", which wouldn't be the case if it hadn't started how it did.

I actually don't give a fuck. I signed on for the show Angela Kang set up. Not the show that elevates male egos and a fucking zionist. And I can honestly say that the only reason I have ploughed through this absolute shit is because the groundwork Angela Kang laid and the magnetic pull of Melissa McBride sustained me.

I joined the fandom because the first two seasons that Angela Kang showran reinvigorated my excitement for the show as a whole AND tapped into my latent enjoyment of Carol & Daryl. Before that, I enjoyed the show and the characters, but not enough to be this invested.

Norman Reedus, Scott Gimple, David Zabel, Greg Nicotero, and whoever else is responsible for how this show changed have completely wrecked my passion for it. And only they did. Not Angela Kang. In spite of 'DARYL DIXON', what AK did with season 10 invigorated me to rewatch the whole show, and I never rewatch shows. I got to season 5, and then it took that one interview from David Zabel to completely zap my enthusiasm for rewatching. In this case, he was bright eyed and innocent until his parents were killed in front of him. Then he became Robin, then Nightwing and this man went through fucking hell and he has survived.

Everyone sees Dick for his smiles and his kindness but this man should not be crossed by any means. He's fucking lethal and has gone through so much shit in his life and he's just not the same bright eyed, innocent kid he once was. And you should be scared of him.

Jason Todd--Robin

So technically this song is about Christopher Robin from winnie the pooh, but I think it also captures Jason really well.

I feel like this song focuses a lot on loss of innocence and growing up tbh, like the person this song is aimed at has no idea how hard the world is, how painful things can be but that they'll learn to handle it and bounce back. IDK the first time I heard it, it reminded me of how Jason believed that Robin is magic and maybe even like Bruce or Dick singing this to him knowing what was going to happen to him one day.

Tim Drake -- Clara Bow

okay, so there's not just one lyric that really sticks out to me but the overarching story that this song tells. It's all about being replaced with the next big thing. Taylor Swift is compared to Stevie Nicks who is compared to Clara Bow and one day T. Swift is going to be replaced with something shiny and new and that just reminds me of Tim.

Tim is the third Robin, he replaced Jason who replaced Dick and one day he himself is going to be replaced. There's a lot of HC where he's aware of this fact, that he knows that his role as Robin is not a permanent thing, that one day, he too will be replaced. And eventually, he is.

Cassandra Wayne -- The Albatross

okay Cass was really hard for me at first to pin down what song fit her but then I listened to The Albatross and holy cow.

I don't know quite how to explain how this song makes me think of Cass except for how it just makes me think about how she decided to take her life in her own hands and become her own person. She was pretty much created with one thing in mind and that was all that was expected of her but she's become so much more than that. Now she's strong and powerful but in more ways than just how David Cain made her out to be. She's caring and loving and she's going to destroy the idea that she was ever just a weapon.

Stephanie Brown -- I Can Do It With a Broken Heart

Listen, listen, this woman has been through so freaking much and she has come out on top and with a smile on her face the entire time. She is resilient and she isn't scared to fight Bruce Wayne himself if she needs to.

I know this song is about dealing with a break up but when I hear it, i think of everything that Steph has been through. Her dad who's a rogue, her mom who is struggling with addiction, getting pregnant and giving her baby up for adoption, not being considered good enough to be Robin, the list goes on and on and yet she does it. She rolls with the punches and she swallows it down and she smiles through it all and I just friggen love Stephanie Brown so much.

Duke Thomas -- Florida!!!

Admittedly, I don't know as much about Duke as the others (I'm so sorry, I just haven't gotten there in the comics quite yet, I'm just now getting to the aftermath of the Red Robin run and I haven't read New 52 yet. so this is purely based off of WFA )

This song just makes me think about Duke because from what I've learned, kid's been through a lot and he's had to move in with the Waynes after what happened to his parents. I think of Florida as a song of starting over, picking up your broken pieces and finding yourself once again and that just feels like Duke.

He's been hurt and he's now having to figure out what to do and where to run. Now he's with the Waynes and he's slowly finding his place with their insanity.

Damian has grown so much since the days he was still with the LOA and he recognizes that not only has he grown but he's done it DESPITE what Ra's did to him and that maybe a part of him is created by Ra's and he has learned to love that part of himself and he recognizes he wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Ra's and his mother being conniving and evil. He's created a name for himself as Robin that goes against so much of what Ra's brainwashed him to believe.

Barbara Gordon-- The Bolter

This song just gives the brave, strong, independent vibes of Babs. Someone who lives her life to the fullest and embraces who she is. She's just powerful and she knows that she's amazing and she doesn't expect anything less from herself. She has gone through hell and she's come out of it stronger. She rolls with the punches, she doesn't let it stop her from her dreams, her desires.

Alfred Pennyworth-- I Hate it Here

This song just makes me think of Alfred when Jason died. That time where it's just him and Bruce and he's struggling to take care of his ward and he's also going through his own grief and unable to heal. I think Alfred has his own methods for taking care of himself, I think he's like the world's greatest compartmentalizer.

Dick:-

Parental figure is Bruce, but calls Clark ‘dad’ sometimes just piss Bruce off <3 (Ignore Gotham War, Ignore Gotham War)

Favourite sibling is he doesn’t have one :3. Okay, he likes Jason a teeny bit more, but he’s pretty fair to all of them.

He sees Damian as his son, but they both refuse to acknowledge it completely. They’re comfortable with how they are now.

He is SO older sister coded. Feels like he is responsible for everyone, and tries to hide when he’s mad/sad, but most of the time his siblings force him to tell them how he’s feeling.

Him and Cass CONSTANTLY exchange ‘I swear to god, these losers’ looks when everyone is fighting/doing something stupid.

While his favourite is Jason, and views Damian as a son, he spoils Tim and Duke HORRENDOUSLY.

Him and Steph gossip about different celebrities 24/7

Is currently dating Babs :3

Him and Selina have more ‘friendsies’ relationship, than mom-son type relationship. When one of them get into a argument with Bruce they start slandering him SO BADLY.

Jason:-

Favourite siblings are Duke, Cass and Tim. Because yes. He makes it obvious too lol.

Dislikes Damian, but helps him get away with shit just to give Bruce grey hairs.

Jason ‘I hate modern technology’ Todd

Him and Dick teaming up give people HEADACHES. If Bruce/Alfred want to scold them, they MUST be separated.

Stephanie and him are besties and bully Tim mercilessly, since he luvs to steal everyone’s friends. (Damian ur next)

He gets Alfred presents on both Father’s Day and Grandfathers day, and everything in between.

Spoils Cass tbh. It’s all with Bruce’s card, but what people don’t know won’t hurt them :D

He is constantly like ‘Selina u can do SO much better’ but he does like her. Just not as strong of a relationship.

Cass:-

100% Views Bruce as a father figure. Hates David Cain, and just does not care about Lady Shiva.

Favourite sibling is Tim, and is best friends with Stephanie.

People constantly think that Damian and her are biological siblings, so when they ask, she looks them dead in the eyes and tells them ‘He’s my dad’. It gets the reporters confused every time.

Obnoxiously acts like a little Angel, but everyone knows she’s not. “Cass. We all know you crashed the Batmobile. No, you smiling will not change my mind. Yes, your smile is very pretty, BUT STILL.”

Her and Dick are forced to be the responsible ones when everyone is hanging out. With Cass in charge of Dick, and Dick in charge of Cass. It oddly works out.

Loves spoiling Damian, it’s getting concerning. In turn, Damian’s pets love her.

Stephanie spills tea about EVERYONE to her. Even about her classmates, who Cass has never even met. Fake dating Steph as well so that nobody tries to flirt with her during galas, and to explain why Steph is so close with the family.

Babs is a major role model in her life. When Cass needs advice, Babs is the first number on her phone.

She loves Selina. But sometimes doesn’t trust her. Otherwise, she approves of Batcat :) Not that strong of a mother-daughter relationship, but she buys Selina a gift for Mother’s Day, just because she can.

Tim:-

Yes, he does view Bruce as a father figure. He also still views Jack as a father figure but he’s dead now <333 As for Janet…she’s a complicated situation.

Favourite siblings are Dick and Cass. He’s besties with Stephanie, basically tells her almost everything.

Both him and Damian are petty, so they trade insults a lot, but it’s more bantering than fighting lol. They do go out to places together, but they are always acting like they are forced to, or that they would be anywhere else (even though they like hanging with each other)

He will not stop with the ‘middle child’ jokes. He will purposefully make Bruce ignore him just so he give a long monologue about being the middle child. He will then ask Bruce to give Damian up for adoption to redeem himself. Damian is still here :D

Cass is Tim’s wingman. (Which is why it took so long for TimKon/Timber to get together)

Tim gives the best Christmas gifts, followed by Damian. This is mostly because he’s a STALKER.

He likes Babs a lot, but acts like a CHILD, because she’s better at hacking than he his and therefore she stops him from doing a few things. He threw a tantrum once when she activated CHILD-LOCK on his computer.

He adores Selina. Sometimes suspicious of her, but mostly trusts her. Selina spoils him, Duke and Damian to no limits.

Stephanie:-

Bruce is NOT her parent figure, but she still views his kids as her siblings. Crystal is her mom, she does not consider Arthur her dad.

Favourite siblings are Damian and Tim, Cass and Jason are her besties.

When Jason is mad at the family and going someplace without telling them, he only tells Steph where he is going.

Once, Tim asked how they were her siblings when Bruce or Selina aren’t her parents, so she declared that Talia was her other mom, and made weird stories connecting each of them :D

Cass knows ALL of Steph secrets, because Steph keeps venting to her 24/7.

When Tim and her are together, they start collectively working on a singular brain cell, making the other person next to them having to be the responsible one. On one memorable occasion, it turned out to be Damian.

Stephanie, Dick and Tim love stalking there siblings when they get a date. Just for fun <333. Stephanie and Dick however are the quote on quote ‘embarrassing parents’ energy when it comes to dates. (Tim and Duke are pretty chill when it comes to dates, Bruce, Damian and Jason are the ones who do the shovel talk, and Cass is just staring at you menacingly during the first family dinner.)

Stephanie and Duke are the ones who sneak off to do underage drinking. Tim and Jason are the ones trying to stop them LMAO.

Stephanie likes Selina a lot. She is constantly pestering her to let her see Harley and Poison Ivy. Selina let her one time, and they caused SO MUCH chaos. (Steph is Selina’s second favourite)

Duke:-

He doesn’t see Bruce as a father figure fully yet, but he does love him. He still considers his parents (minus the weird god dad) as his parents.

Favourite siblings are Damian and Jason. Because, in Tim’s words, he’s weird like that. Him and Damian go to movies every month, and we’re especially excited for the FNAF movie. (They LOVE FNAF.)

Duke is also super younger-sibling coded. If everyone gets super defensive of Damian, then he’s the one who can say ANYTHING and get away with it. As a joke, Jason starts referring to him and Damian as twins because when people ask who they’re ‘youngest sibling’ is, everyone keeps alternating between Duke and Damian.

At first he was downright TERRIFIED of Cass. Like he was scared to be in the same room as her. Now they team up to scare everyone else. (Duke is just recording, Cass does the scaring)

Damian only does ‘puppy eyes’ VERY rarely, and it works effectively every time. Duke? He does it for Every. Little. Thing. And most of the time? He gets it. Tim and Cass are the only one who can resist it. Sometimes.

Dick is Dukes idol. He wants to be like Dick in the future :3

Jason and Duke call each other ‘narrows’ and ‘alley’ respectively. Duke also does a lot of shit, just Bruce never finds out because nobody tells on him, so Jason is JELLY of that.

Stephanie and Duke have the most similar taste in food out of everyone else. VERY, VERY sugary. Nobody listens to them when they suggest to eat something. It’s too sugary.

Selina acts like Duke is her biological son as a joke to the press. The press still thinks it’s true. It’s downright hilarious.

Damian:-

Parental figures are Bruce and Dick, though they don’t acknowledge it :) (Ignore Gotham War, Ignore Gotham War) The relationship with Talia…is messy, to say the least.

Favourite siblings are Stephanie and Duke (because obviously???) They use there gremlin nature to a MAX to prank everyone else.

He is the most younger sibling coded person ever. He’s a little gremlin-demon, but if you mess with him, you’re messing with ALL OF THEM.

Upset that Tim and Stephanie broke up, and started shipping Steph and Cass (for shit and giggles, they are the type of besties who act like there in a relationship, and Damian knows this) and constantly asks Cass when she’s proposing so that Steph can be his sister legally as well <33

Constantly bantering with Tim, but they love each other. They just have weird ways of showing it :3

Dislike-Dislike relationship with Jason, but can and will team up with each other to ruin everyone’s day. They also don’t want each other dead ig :)

Only accepts Babs as Dicks girlfriend. No in between. But he will respect Kori. Begrudgingly.

Respects Jim Gordon so much lmaooo.

Has learned the Alfred eyebrow raise. He is now tormenting everyone with it.

Selina is Bruce’s fiancé, but they have a ‘chaotic aunt, and chaotic nephew’ type of bond. Damian is 100% Selina’s fav.
