I understand how, from an angst perspective, the whole “Percy will never really be apart of the Blofis family” is an interesting idea but it’s also such?? Bullshit? Like what do you mean? He calls Paul his dad? That’s his family? Go? Fuck yourself?
I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them
People who are used to aloof Vulcans who avoid Humans at all cost running into one comforting a Human
“-and then they said my cheesecake was subpar, and they didn’t even bring a dish!!!”
“The purpose of this event was that every participant brings a food item of sorts, correct?”
“Yeah!!”
“And they did not follow this rule while insulting dishes that were brought?”
i think i wouldn’t hate disco elysium’s collage mode nearly as much if it weren’t for 1) the way that it was marketed in such a tasteless, soulless manner, let alone the fact that it was a last ditch distraction from a dead on its feet studio piloted by dumbass thieving execs and released on the day of the court declaration, and 2) those dumbass fucking stickers
like if it had been included with the base game from the start and had been titled something a bit more tasteful and in-line with how i would have liked the feature to be marketed as— something like “exploration mode”, something that perhaps could only be unlocked after completing the game for the first time, AND didn’t have those stupid as hell visually and tonally incongruent with the artstyle stickers, i would have applauded it as a nice little bonus for being able to study and appreciate the 3d models and environments for reference.
I do think that sometimes when people have terrible opinions about actual play, especially about bold choices, it's because they haven't played D&D much, but honestly just as often I feel it's because they have played D&D and they're projecting their own frustrations with a past home game onto the players or DM. And frankly, more and more often I find that when I really dig into opinions I don't like there's a small amount of obvious bigotry, and sometimes it's an ignorance D&D mechanics, but more frequently it's ignorance of heroic fantasy as a genre, and most of all it's just the sentiment of "I am feeling uncomfortable when we are not about me blorbo?"
So this morning we had to see a new wave of attacks on Gavi because the Spanish media decided to blame him for Tchouamini's injury while using a clip where they clash with each other at some point in the second half. Mind you, in that same clip you can see it was Tchouamini who was charging at Gavi and not the other way around. But obviously people never care about the truth and just went on blindly hating on Gavi and vilifying him. Again. It was to the point that Tchouamini himself had to come out and say that Gavi wasn't at fault and that he got injured in the first half. A rival player had to come out and defend him because even he can see the way people treat him isn't right. So there you go. Another instance where he gets blamed for shit he didn't do.
have a new mental disorder im naming transit blues where im perfectly well adjusted [citation needed] right up until i miss a bus by one minute which triggers a depressive spiral so bad that the only reason i do not kill myself is because i know in 3 hours ill be literally fine again and actually mildly embarrassed about the suicide ideation at that point
..it is totally okay to hate a character but stop using their tags !! Because tumblr then shows them to me, who LIKES their ass, and it pisses me off that y'all are so illiterate/tasteless/boring
If Mass Effect wants me to believe that Tali doesn't care for female!Shepard romantically then why 1) does she have the same dialogue with her than she does with male!Shepard after her loyalty mission, where she calls her dashing, says she'd love to sync suits with her, and such and 2) Why, after all this, does her dossier in the shadow broker base show this:
(while playing as femshep!) i mean, unless she's getting hot and bothered by fucking. donelly. she's as much into femshep as she's into her male counterpart.
I think that, for some reason, it's femshep that's not into Tali, and no the other way around. And it's still idiotic because she's also "bisexual", as opposed to broshep, who can only romance men starting from me3.
Wait, I only know like, vaguely of the Warrens and their existence. They were traumatizing families?
hellooo sorry this has been sitting in my askbox for months BUT without scrounging for articles i can really only say that I think diagnosing troubled children with demon possession and performing exorcisms on them (and that inspiring the use of "demon possession" as an insanity defense, as in the "devil made me do it" case) is unbelievably dangerous and harmful religious bogus. this did cause a rift in the Glatzel family between the siblings that still believe in the possession vs those that saw through the manipulation and don't appreciate the intense media attention it garnered, especially when their brother was clearly struggling with meltdowns and delusions and instead of getting help, their parents called the Warrens. i also think it's disgusting to use the real & then-recent murder of 4 children as the focal point of a haunted house story, ie the amityville horror. they're well known at this point to exaggerate and falsify everything they write to make it more sensational for money, while using the real names of the people they write about. the families are generally on board but i don't blame them half as much as i blame the lifelong career grifters
i'm watching s2e2 of masterchef, australia and they have to make a beef wellington. during the tasting of a specific contestant's dish, preston starts to talk about the history of arthur wellesley, the 1st duke of wellington, who was a general in the british army back in the 1700s. he specifically talks about how he came to prominence for a campaign in india (aka invading and expanding the colonies) and pulls similarities to the contestant, jimmy seervai, an indian man.
i know you're complimenting him preston BUT WHAT THE FUCK!? maybe don't bring up the colonisation of his people to do so????
i feel like im never going to be fully satisfied by any saw sequel (or the fanbase for that matter) bc i dont think the majority of ppl involved read jigsaw the same way i did.
