i think i wouldn’t hate disco elysium’s collage mode nearly as much if it weren’t for 1) the way that it was marketed in such a tasteless, soulless manner, let alone the fact that it was a last ditch distraction from a dead on its feet studio piloted by dumbass thieving execs and released on the day of the court declaration, and 2) those dumbass fucking stickers

like if it had been included with the base game from the start and had been titled something a bit more tasteful and in-line with how i would have liked the feature to be marketed as— something like “exploration mode”, something that perhaps could only be unlocked after completing the game for the first time, AND didn’t have those stupid as hell visually and tonally incongruent with the artstyle stickers, i would have applauded it as a nice little bonus for being able to study and appreciate the 3d models and environments for reference.

Unpopular and possibly shit take but women being allowed to have moderately bad opinions without being dragged to hell and back the way men do is indeed something we need to get comfortable with if we're gonna see women as people.

We need to start saying "Yikes, what an asshole." And moving on. Because trust, there will be a popular man doing and saying so much worse and getting away with it.

I do think that sometimes when people have terrible opinions about actual play, especially about bold choices, it's because they haven't played D&D much, but honestly just as often I feel it's because they have played D&D and they're projecting their own frustrations with a past home game onto the players or DM. And frankly, more and more often I find that when I really dig into opinions I don't like there's a small amount of obvious bigotry, and sometimes it's an ignorance D&D mechanics, but more frequently it's ignorance of heroic fantasy as a genre, and most of all it's just the sentiment of "I am feeling uncomfortable when we are not about me blorbo?"

So this morning we had to see a new wave of attacks on Gavi because the Spanish media decided to blame him for Tchouamini's injury while using a clip where they clash with each other at some point in the second half. Mind you, in that same clip you can see it was Tchouamini who was charging at Gavi and not the other way around. But obviously people never care about the truth and just went on blindly hating on Gavi and vilifying him. Again. It was to the point that Tchouamini himself had to come out and say that Gavi wasn't at fault and that he got injured in the first half. A rival player had to come out and defend him because even he can see the way people treat him isn't right. So there you go. Another instance where he gets blamed for shit he didn't do.

If Mass Effect wants me to believe that Tali doesn't care for female!Shepard romantically then why 1) does she have the same dialogue with her than she does with male!Shepard after her loyalty mission, where she calls her dashing, says she'd love to sync suits with her, and such and 2) Why, after all this, does her dossier in the shadow broker base show this:

Why is it I get flagged instantly for non explicit albeit broadly implicit sexual content in the context of my ongoing archival tags, but when I report actual pornographic and moreover stolen content from what are either blatant pornbots or else the most boring, tasteless middle aged men on earth, their shit stays up for me to bump into again months later?

Like, don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna argue that the bar is set at what'd get you a stern talking to at work (although if youre caught on Tumblr at work I feel like you've got bigger things to answer for than what specifically is on your Tumblr feed) but also what is the point of barring sexual content of not to discourage the association with "pornography" on thr basis of, you know, actually using it for what porn is made to be used for? If I was posting actual pages and panels thatd be different and I'd be more sympathetic to the charges, although I already am and go figure it's why I don't post or reblog actual smut.

That said the people I do bump into routinely posting pages and panels from hentai doujin dont seem to get flagged, so who knows. maybe I've got it all backwards.
