hello! i decided to post something quite controversial, and that is...

you shouldn't treat your parts like separate people. it is anti recovery and will only further your dissociation. alters are not actually their own people even if they do have their own personalities. fundamentally, they are parts of YOU. it is comforting to treat them as separate people, but it's not good. it is effectively like selfharm.

Treating your alters as parts or people or anything in between is perfectly accepted and agreed upon. You can view them as separate people and, so long as it helps you be less distressed and dysfunctional, that’s all that matters — so long as you can still hold onto system accountability.

Little reminder from an Outed system:

You do not have to tell everyone you're a system or about your disorders/disabilities.

Even from a very open system (us) we are very open about what we have, what we are, and the troubles that surface from such.

People will still paint you as a monster or ridicule you and try to beat you down further. People are stupid and humanity is failing.

You do not have to try to prove yourself right or prove yourself at all if you see the battle is unfair. That does not make you weak, and it doesn't make you what they say you are.

If you know you aren't, thats all you need.

i feel like some ppl forget that a diagnosis doesn't automatically make signs/symptoms of a disorder magically appear.

you had the disorder before getting diagnosed, it doesn't magically manifest after a therapist says you have it. that's something that confuses me, how someone says "you can't have X disorder, you aren't diagnosed", when in reality being diagnosed doesn't change much. it confirms you do in fact have it since you've been evaluated, but what else?? literally all a diagnosis is, is a piece of paper saying "This person has X disorder"

i'm rambling, but basically what i'm saying is disorders will still be there if you get a diagnosis or not, you just may not be aware you have that disorder. it's still there, just lurking...

this isn't to say "everyone is disordered!" but just a general "diagnosis isn't everything", yk? or to say you shouldn't seek out a professional diagnosis because knowing for sure about these things could be good depending on the person. moral: a person with autism is still autistic whether they're formally diagnosed or not

we find with systems collecting gets so much interesting because diverse interests and all that, so I’m asking YOU& 🫵 the system community, how silly is your system with collecting (feel free to yap if you wanna info dump about things you& love >:D)

Anyway here’s some things we collect!

vinyl, we just love all records, when we have the money we will be buying probably a phonograph for wax cylinder next, but we also decently like shellac and CDs

My little pony!!! We love ponies, so does our lovely partner, so we share ponies (also toys in general, have a pretty decent Carebears collection)

Books!!! We love books, we mainly read classic lit, own 21 of the same book lol

I didn't create these and I don't know/who made each one. This is post 3 of ?

^^^These r for me- I have a pretty human-looking body but I have antlers that are more or less like a Roe deer's antlers, a deer tail (although it isn't like a Roe deer's tail for some reason?), and orangeish 'demon-like' wings.

^^^This is for our Tuvok fictive (from Star Trek: Voyager) It's not really a niche show- but it is a niche source, I don't think I've seen any introjects from it.

^^^This is for multiple introjects of ours including our Tommy, Phil, Tubbo, Minx, Will (He's a fuzztive of cc!Wilbur & Ghostbur), and maybe Ran? We're still not sure if they are a fictive, fuzztive, or factive- We also have a couple other's who are fictives of other DSMP characters played by mcyt's like our Techno and Charlie. Many of them are non-human or not entirely human as well! /info
