Inspibase

When a headmate is inspired by something or someone (likely while or around the time of forming, but does not have to be) in a way that they aren't that thing or individual but still feel connected to it.

Some non exclusive examples of this are,

A headmate that formed while the plural unit was fixated on FNAF, causing the headmate to be inspired by William afton, but not be him

A headmate of an original character that was inspired or influenced by pre-existing character or similar.

A headmate that first formed as a fictive that has since gotten to a (self determined) point where they feel that now the character only inspired them and who they are.

internal god — a catchall term for alters who are Gods internally, their being revolves around Godhood, or they are treated/revered as a God internally. They could be Intragods, Spiritives, or Intraspiric- but they don't necessarily need to be.

Their Godhood could be chosen/self-identified, or they were made/split to be Godlike for whatever reason. They could have a following internally, or simply be an identity.

Do you know a collective term for ‘‘protectors’’ and ‘‘caretakers’’? I don't know of that makes sense.. but like 😭 a term to describe both of them at once (e.g., ‘‘yeah, sorry, you'll have to talk to a ____ about that!’’)

That makes sense! I've never heard a term for it so I'm just going to coin it!

Guardian - An umbrella term for alters who are protectors, caretakers, both, or similar roles.

The light brown and shield is for protecting roles The pink is for the care and love that they have while fulfilling these roles The blue and medical cross are for the gentleness of caretaking roles

Altlamina

Altlamina is a term that refers to a layer or layers which alter or modify headmates in some way when they exist on them. A layer may function as a sort of alternate universe or other world, where headmates become a different version of themselves upon entering it while still remaining the same person at their core. Examples of this modification may be a change in species, mindset, in-system relationships, gender, or appearance.

Every day, I think a lot of sqq (sj) going into a near qi deviation, and sy is there to help him. He runs head on to sqq to hug him even while sqq is being aggressive. Yah, sy gets a nick here and there, or even punched and elbowed, but sy continues to clutch onto sqq. Sy has his arms wrapped very tightly around sqq's torso while his legs are wrapped around his waist, just like a koala hugging a tree.

And where there chest meets, sy is slowly pouring qi ever-so-gently into sqq. He sings sweet nothings like, "it's okay, A-Jiu. You're okay. You're fine. No one is going to hurt you. Don't worry, A-Jiu." And when he sees that it is (very) effective, he pours even more qi. One hand pats sqq's back as the other hand combs the back of his head where his hair ends.

"A-Jiu, A-Jiu," he says, sweetly. "You got this." He tugs at the tangled meridians, it was the main reason that caused sqq to have a qi deviation. "Imagine a thread. Y'know how you always get annoyed when a thread gets tangled up while you're sewing? Find the tip of the string to gently untangle it one by one." Surely enough, it does help. "Good job. You're doing great, A-Jiu. That's right, good boy."

Sqq falls to his knees, losing his strength to hold onto sy, he falls forward. Sy moans in pain having hurt his head, yet he continues to gently pat sqq all the more. "Imagine a dam. What happens when the damn can't handle all the water it contained? It will burst. Let it flow like a waterfall. Imagine. Freedom."

And with that, sqq falls asleep, exhausted. All the while, sy is trapped underneath.

dunno if this has been done yet but: airplane didn’t first become aware of peerless cucumber in the comments of pidw, he first saw peerless in the comments of a different web novel (that perhaps was one of airplane’s earlier works?) and so when initially drafting pidw he was inspired to write a villain just like cucumber bc “he’s MEAN MEAN for no reason, a literature snob, and pretends to be all high and mighty while looking down on others. also likes to kick down the little guy” and boom. sqq was born. cut to years later post-transmigration when sqh just casually drops this info with “lol i always did find it funny how much you hated the guy considering he’s literally based off you”

notes on this au:

sy transmigrates into a new body when sqq fights the system trying to force him out of his body. sqq is livid and decides to take sy as his retainer/secretary/assistant, forcing him to do most of the accounting & administrative work on qing jing peak and work for sqq for free while also helping sqq avoid his tragic fate by telling him spoilers and secrets about the world that sy remembers. sy has no golden core and no cultivation, and cant wield a spiritual sword or fight. sy has no documents, no money, and no prospects. sqq basically provides everything for him & can also take it away. sy moves into the other room in the bamboo house and cleans and organizes as well, although his own room is a mess. sqq never makes it clear what sy's position on the peak is, so all of the disciples follow his orders in fear of disobeying sqq. sy is basically 2nd to sqq, although he doesnt see it that way; he sees himself as sqq's overworked servant. he resents sqq for his control over sy's life, but he's terrified of being kicked out.

sqq takes sy to the peak lord meetings as well, using sy to carry documents, serve tea, and to give him information about anything that might be useful to sqq if it comes up during the meeting. sy also often acts as a messenger for sqq between peaks. he doesnt get much interaction outside of senior disciples and the other peak lords.

since sy's hands are usually full with documents, accounting books, talisman paper, & anything else sqq wants him to carry, sy can't use his fan to hide his face as much. instead he uses his hair & his glasses. his skin is sallow & he often misses meals from running around doing sqq's errands, so he always seems tired. clothes he wears are simple & loose, either slip on or buttoned up. he dislikes loud & bright patterns bc he doesn't want to stand out, but sometimes has no choice bc sqq buys his clothes. sqq will often make him wear more extravagant patterns, even when it makes sy nervous about attracting attention.

since sy seemed to appear out of nowhere to the other sect members, sy is very worried about acting too suspicious and getting kicked out. he copies sqq as much as possible to acclimate to the world and seem unphased & elegant.

sy is very interested in the other peak lords since he interacts with them often, especially liu qingge. liu qingge often catches him staring, but sy tries not to interact with anyone more than he has to. liu qingge usually sees him hiding behind sqq as a buffer. if sy does speak, he does it low & quiet, & if behind his fan if possible.

sy looks like his old body & has long black hair, similarly styled to sqq by his insistence. sy dislikes this.

sqq calls sy "a-yuan" bc sy doesnt like it. sy doesnt like telling people his name though bc it makes ppl think theyre related, which he also doesnt like, so he doesnt stop sqq from indroducing sy as "a-yuan". this makes it very difficult for other ppl to know what to call sy in fear of being too familiar

sy does meet sqh earlier in this au, and he helps him as much as he can get away with behind sqq's back. since sy is less bound by the system than sqh is, sqh sometimes "sponsors" sy to do things he himself cant do.

sy calls sqq the equivalent of "sir".
