I feel like a lot of folks who are only familiar with Phineas and Ferb via the memes get the impression that one of the show's central gags is about the titular characters gaslighting their sister, but that's not what's happening at all. They're generally 100% open about what they're doing, and lots of people know about it. Even their dad is frequently in the loop. It's the mom in particular who absolutely refuses to believe that anything unusual is going on, and while part of that is due to the evidence having a tendency to vanish right before she walks into the room, there's also a lot of refusal to entertain the possibility involved – heck, there are multiple episodes where the boys admit what they're doing to her face, and she just dismisses it as them doing a bit.

Basically, what's being sent up in the show is not "brothers gaslighting their sister", but "eldest daughter whose mother never believes her about anything, even when disbelief requires wilful blindness to what's happening right in front of her face". Which is still kind of a fucked up thing to be playing for laughs, of course, but you can see where some folks would find her worryingly relatable!

I think there is a WELL of untapped potential in the category of jedtavius, learning each other's cultures especially

Because people forget that in the movie, it's historically accurate, it was the west side of the transcontinental railroad, those were Chinese workers! And in that the miniatures themselves have been there for 50 YEARS, I think it's safe to say they would influence each other the tiniest bit if not outright accepting not even mentioning how culture changes and grows overtime!

What about Chinese/Lunar New Year? Or lantern festivals? The languages? The games? There had to be Japanese folk as well, what if they played games like hanafuda and konpira funefune? Not to mention that most cowboys were Hispanic! What about the Hispanic folk? Día de muertos? Spanish sayings? How many times have one of the cowboys gotten tripped up talking to the Romans because they speak in a more polished English? What if Jedediah called Octavius pet names from the languages he knows?

I owe all of my current shows much more robust reviews, but I am just here now to yell about Ayaka Is In Love With Hiroko!, and I am just CELEBRATING that the Japanese channel, MBS, is gilding its Drama Shower time slot with such a fabulous and heartfelt GL romcom. Crisp, well-paced, leveraging the Japanese dorama penchant for crossed-communication wires with depth. I’ll yell more tomorrow about it, but I just had such a good time catching up with it.

julien had to save a bug onstage. when phoebe reasoned that it was already outside, julien argued that it was on its back. phoebe proceeded to dedicate the next song to the bug.

Omfg ik im late to the party but i just watched Loki season two and by far is it the best show ever. The took a simple character (that everyone loved but didn’t get much screen time), and turned it into a story all its own. MCU far out of thought.

Love and care was put into the show and it’s clear. The creators wanted to tell their own story without the binds of the Avengers, and they did it perfectly while still staying in universe.

The writing, characterization, pacing, symbolism, all of it was *chefs kiss*. I’m sure it’s not a perfect show, but it was entertaining and it was produced brilliantly.

It has easily made its way onto my top 3 best tv shows list.
