Ahh I'm glad you liked the mini fic because immediately after finishing it I had an idea for another lol.
Sukuna watched Daiki digging about in the garden. The little leech could cover himself from head to toe in dirt in under a minute on a good day and it had rained the night before. Sukuna suspected that his clothes were completely unsalvageable at this point but he'd leave them for the brat to try and clean anyway as punishment for being sent away on an overnight mission and leaving him to babysit their spawn. The six eyes had offered of course but there was no way Sukuna would let him, who knew if whatever was wrong with that man was contagious after all. The last thing he needed was for his son to pick up some sort of aura of divorce off that man. Surprisingly keeping an eye on the spawn wasn't entirely awful. He was good entertainment at least even if he always wanted to be underfoot following Sukuna from room to room and smiling up at him no matter what he was doing. That had gotten annoying when he was trying to work in the garden but Daiki also loved to try and imitate whatever his father was doing so Sukuna had given him a very small corner of the garden to take care of himself. A very small corner. In the very back where no one would see it. So long as Sukuna looked over every five minutes so Daiki could proudly show off his progress he could keep the mini brat out of trouble for hours. Now completely unrecognizable his mud covered spawn waddled up to him looking like a swamp beast. He grinned with big sharp white teeth somehow managing to channel his dopey father and look cute.
“I got all the weeds! It's seed time!” Crowed Daiki.
“Let's go now” the little runt said, grabbing Sukuna's hand in his muddy paw.
Sukuna had promised that once his section of the garden was weeded he'd take the boy out to pick out his own seeds. More out of a desire to keep his fancy seeds for the nicer parts of the garden than anything else. Now the king found himself dragged along by his cheerfully humming son. Daiki tugged his father up to his favorite red wagon. It had built in seats on either end and was probably meant for parents to pull their children around in but Daiki had inherited Yuuji's strength of body and mind… that is to say the boy was strong and enthusiastic enough to pull others around and never once thought to considered any other way of doing things. Sukuna took his usual seat facing forward as his spawn rushed forth. The bottom of the wagon was filled with all the little random things that caught Daiki’s attention when he went out to wander the neighborhood. Mostly random shiny rocks or cool sticks he'd found an abandoned wasps nest and several bird feathers too. Sukuna put his feet up on the other seat to keep them off his spawn’s growing hoard, missing the brat for just a moment as he did. Yuuji’s lap made a much more comfortable footrest than the other seat after all. Sukuna briefly considered spraying Daiki down with the hose to get some of the mud off but the boy was already picking up speed in his race to the store and it'd be a hassle to turn back now. Sukuna reached down and pulled the emergency umbrella out from under the seat instead and held it up to shield himself from the mud flying off his running spawn. The king settled in for the bumpy journey.
At the store Daiki stood transfixed before the seed display his tiny mind overwhelmed by all the options. Sukuna watched as he wiggled from side to side all four of his eyes darting about. A store clerk rushed over face all red clearly gearing up to scream at the muddy child for making a mess in the store only to freeze in place once he caught sight of Sukuna's lazy grin. Some ancient self preservation instinct must have awakened in the man because he made a sharp turn and Daiki was left to keep browsing in peace. Finally making up his little mind the mini brat started to throw random seeds into his wagon. Chest all puffed out with pride he turned and marched right out of the store. Sukuna snickered at the look on the workers face. Pulling out his phone to get a selfie with him in the background. His son's first robbery ought to be commemorated after all. He sent the picture to the brat. Hopeful Yuuji would see it and rush home to prevent their spawn from continuing his life of crime.
Sukuna hadn't expected much would come of Daiki’s section of the garden. The little monster had scattered seeds wildly and without a thought all over the place and then drowned them all in hose water, at least the water helped clean him a bit in the process. He was surprised to see vines growing up tall and flowers blooming. There was no order at all to it but the plants didn't care growing tangled around each other. Daiki made himself a little fort in the center by weaving some of the tallest plants together and every time Sukuna walked past he'd poke his little head out and grin up at him. It was all fun and games until the zucchini plants started to produce. One or two or even ten would have been fine but every time Sukuna went out he'd find another damn zucchini That he'd missed before. A family can only eat zucchini for so many meals in a row before they go insane. At this rate they'd be eating zucchini bread for breakfast, fried zucchini for lunch, and zucchini casserole for dinner every day for the next year and they'd still have more. Even Yuuji wasn't creative enough in the kitchen to manage that. Luckily for the sake of his family Sukuna was willing to make sacrifices, he was willing to allow all the brats friends over for dinner for just one night. Just this once and they had better be grateful.
And then while everyone else was eating together Sukuna broke into everyone's cars and filled them all with produce from his son's garden. And from then on Daiki was never ever allowed to grow vegetables again, only pretty flowers and maybe maybe the occasional herb.
I just wanted some bonding between Sukuna and Daiki. Sukuna is that meme of dad's with the pet they said they didn't want. Daiki is a good boy, but he doesn't quite understand how stores work yet he didn't mean to steal. Idk how old he is in this one old enough to talk and run around, but probably not in school yet. I hope you like it!
I'M BEING SPOILED AHHH! Also posting during the day so more people can see!
These little stories are such a delight to read and so cute too! Sukuna being a grumpy parent is so spot on for the story (until a few chapters in hehe.... that spoilers!)
And Daiki certainly does take after Yuuji! Beat me to the punch of writing the little leech! In the chapter I'm working on, he is four years old, so this def could be him at two or three, causing trouble and Sukuna not stopping his criminal career!
Also I FEEL that Zucchini part in my soul as someone who has six squashes on my counter...

Starscream had once been the Autobot's enemy, then their ally and they eventually learn the truth about who destroyed Cliffjumper. He left their home out of guilt, but they had found him. He expected imprisonment or death, and he was going to accept it.
Starscream had never expected to find himself in this position – being hugged by Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. Starscream felt himself melting into the embrace, his body trembling with emotion.
'Why don't you hate me?' Starscream whispered, his voice breaking with tears. 'Why do you care?' Optimus pulled back slightly and looked into Starscream's optics with a gentle expression. 'Because I see the good in you, Starscream. I know there is more to you than your past actions.' Starscream couldn't believe what he was hearing. The Autobots were showing him compassion and understanding. He turned to face the other Autobots, his spark heavy with guilt and regret. 'Can't you berate me?' Starscream choked out, his voice filled with self-loathing. 'Isn't that fair? Where is your glare? Don't you dare leave our problems and pain on the shelf! Because if you don't hate me, I can't hate myself!' Tears streamed down Starscream's face as he looked at his former allies, expecting to be met with disdain and judgment. But instead, he found Arcee standing beside him, her hand extended towards him in a gesture of acceptance. Arcee took Starscream's hand in her own and looked at him with pain in her eyes... but also forgiveness and understanding.
Starscream wasn't a heartless monster, he was doing his job, but now he regrets all his horrible actions when he was a Decepticon. This is enough for Arcee. Starscream feels a tiny spark of hope.
'But that's why I need you,' Starscream said softly. 'You shatter my fear. 'Cause despite my misdeeds, you are still right here. Though it's stupid to forgive me, Arcee is willing to try. And if she doesn't hate me, then why should I?' Starscream was overwhelmed by the kindness and forgiveness that Arcee and the other Autobots were showing him. He could feel the weight of his past mistakes starting to lift from his shoulders. Maybe, just maybe, he could find redemption and forgiveness in the eyes of his family. ⭐⭐⭐
(This ISN'T a Starscream request, it's a gift for you!)
New gift ^^ ! Thank you X3 !
I also made a doodle comics of this scene : here

Alright love, @hummingbird-of-light, I finished it. Sorry it took nearly a week past your birthday, but here’s the rest finally 😁
Stuck Here With You
Working together Jim and Scotty got the engineer from his chair and on the floor behind the seats. Scotty was breathing heavily and sweat had broken out across his forehead. His arm had tucked across his chest, holding his side. The restraints had dug into him as well.
Jim tried to keep his face neutral as he took in the bruised body of his friend. He didn’t want to worry Scotty. He turned to get the medkit.
“It’s not good, is it Jim?” Scotty asked.
“What?” Jim asked, trying to play dumb.
“Me,” Scotty said. “How bad is it?”
Jim gave a quick glance over his shoulder then went back to digging through the medkit.
“Jim.”
He heard the sound of Scotty struggling to sit up, and whipped back around.
“Hey! Lie down! Don’t overdo it,” he warned. He reached for his command shirt that had slipped away from Scotty’s shoulders. He folded it quickly and slid it behind where Scotty’s head would lay.
“Come on,” he encouraged. “Back down.”
“Tell me then lad,” Scotty said as he let Jim guide him back down onto his back.
“Yes. It doesn’t look great,” Jim admitted. “That cut is more like a gash on your face, and it’s already starting to bruise.”
Jim had given Scotty another dose of pain meds when he had finished doing what he could for the engineer’s leg. He had stopped the bleeding at least. The medkit only included basic equipment and Jim thanked his lucky stars that Bones had insisted on drilling him about first aid so many times.
As Jim sat back his head began to pound. He looked longingly at the hypo with the pain meds. He wouldn’t take it himself though. Who knew how long they would be stuck and Scotty needed it more than him. Jim could deal with a headache.
Scotty was dozing. He was still stretched out on the floor, Jim’s shirt for a pillow. Jim had found an emergency blanket and draped it over the engineer. Scotty had begun shivering again as Jim worked on his leg.
Five more minutes passed before Jim pushed himself to his feet. His head hurt and his side ached, but they had to get out of here. He had to see what they were dealing with. Whatever had hit their shuttle had knocked out comms and their beacon. The engines seemed alright, but the connection between them and the main console had been damaged.
Jim thought of the Enterprise and the crew waiting for them. Would they know something had happened? Would they know where to begin looking if they did start a search? Uhura would be hailing them only to receive no answer. Bones would be wearing a path back and forth behind the chair and Spock would be calling for wider and wider scans.
Spock.
If anyone could find them it would be the Vulcan first officer and the best bridge crew in the fleet. A quick smile crossed Jim’s face and he began to unscrew covering panels from the main console.
Scotty mumbled something in his sleep and Jim glanced over. Scotty’s fingers tightened in a fold of the blanket. He could almost swear the engineer had mumbled the doctor’s name, but it had been followed by what sounded like Scottish to Jim’s ears, so he wasn’t certain.
As he lifted the panel he had unscrewed away, Jim let out a sigh. He knew his way around the inner workings of a console, but the crushed confusion before him was too much. He set the panel cover aside and crawled back over by Scotty. When the engineer woke up, maybe he would have a better idea of what to do.
Scotty looked more himself when he woke. His face was darkening with bruises around the cut and bandage, but his eyes were bright and eager to work. Jim helped him sit up and maneuver towards the panel he had opened. He didn’t want Scotty putting pressure on his hurt leg.
“Find me some tools lad?” he asked and Jim hurried to the back of the shuttle for the rest of the toolbox.
When he returned Scotty was pushing wires aside and peering through the mess.
“This doesn’t look good Jim,” he said with a frown.
“If anyone can fix it, it’s you,” Jim said confidently.
Scotty gave him a tight smile, then turned back to the console.
It was silent as Scotty worked, except when he asked Jim for different tools. The more he dug deeper into the panel, the lower his hopes dropped. Too many shorts and burnt out wires. He couldn’t make a strong enough signal with anything left still functioning and that was even if he strung them all together.
He could open other panels, in other places on the shuttle. He could take what he needed from those places. But trying to remember what would fit from where would take time, and Scotty’s body was tiring from his injuries.
“I had one idea Jim,” he said softly.
“Hmm?” Jim asked.
Scotty looked over his shoulder and saw the heavy lids on his friend’s eyes.
“Do- do ye and Spock have a bond?” Scotty asked bluntly.
Jim’s face began to color, and he eyed Scotty nervously.
“I- I don’t know what you mean.”
Scotty sighed and set down the tools he was holding. Sliding himself back, he sat up next to the console.
“Jim. He’s Vulcan. They form bonds between partners. Ye’re partners. So. Do ye have a bond?”
“We- we aren’t - we aren’t —” Jim was shaking his head, but Scotty saw the guilty look in his eyes.
“I’m not judging. I’m happy if yer happy. Ye want it to be a secret, great. I’ll keep it secret. But if ye’ve got a bond and can call to him through it…” Scotty looked at him expectantly. “If I could call to Len like that, I would have done it when ye woke me. But we can’t. Too human.”
Jim’s mouth was working around but no words were forming.
“It’d save us a great amount of time if ye can,” Scotty continued.
“You and Bones?” Jim finally got out.
“Aye lad. We like our privacy too.”
Jim looked at Scotty in surprise. His thoughts raced and things he had barely noticed the last few months suddenly made sense. Bones had been cheerier, nicer to Jim when he ended up in medbay. He had also begged off from meeting for a drink more often, claiming he had work or was tired. Of course if he was spending his time with Scotty that all made sense.
He dropped his head to his chest as Scotty continued to look at him expectantly.
“Yes,” he admitted quietly. “We’re together. We want to keep it quiet. I’ve never reached out to him like this though. I’m not sure…”
“I’m sure ye can,” Scotty said encouragingly.
“Ok.”
Jim took a few deep breaths and closed his eyes. He pictured Spock in his mind. The Vulcan’s image sprang up right away.
Jim?
Spock!?
For a moment Jim saw Spock sitting in the command chair on the bridge.
Jim, what—
The shuttle was hit. We’ve got no comm or beacon. Engines are out, and it’ll take time but they can be fixed.
Where are you?
“Scotty, do we have our coordinates?” Jim opened his eyes.
“Give me a minute.” Scotty pulled himself up into one of the chairs, careful to not put pressure on his hurt leg.
Jim closed his eyes and breathed deep again.
Jim?
Scotty’s hurt and will need Bones.
The coordinates?
Jim repeated them silently in his mind as Scotty read them off to him.
Sulu estimates we will reach you in ninety minutes. Are you injured?
Jim hesitated.
Yes, but not like Scotty is.
The minutes dragged as they waited.
Jim had made Scotty lie down again to rest and prevent any further harm to his leg. In turn, Scotty had forced Jim to go find another emergency blanket for himself, since Jim’s shirt was still Scotty’s pillow.
“It will nae hurt ye to stay warm,” he had told Jim.
From time to time Jim closed his eyes and thought of Spock. Almost immediately the Vulcan would respond with how much longer it would take for the Enterprise to reach them. Jim would relay the information to Scotty, who would nod and remind him to relax.
Finally Jim’s curiosity grew too strong.
“How long Scotty?”
“Hmm? Ye just told me twenty minutes.” Scotty glanced over with a confused look.
“No,” Jim shook his head. “You and Bones.”
“Oh,” Scotty said. He closed his eyes for a moment. “A few months,” he said, eyes opening again. “But please Jim, don’t say anything about it. We’ve liked keeping it quiet.”
“Sure. You’ll keep me and Spock quiet. It’s repaying the favor.”
“Will ye and Spock stay quiet? How are ye going to explain how he knew where we were?”
Jim’s face dropped. “Well, I won’t say anything about you two at least.”
“Thanks lad,” Scotty said sympathetically.
“It’s good?” Jim asked. “Bones seems happier.”
Scotty smiled fondly. “Aye. Quite good.”
“Lot easier to be secret when your quarters share a bathroom.”
“Ye would know lad,” Scotty laughed. Jim’s face colored lightly. “But yes. I may have rewired a few things between our rooms. The door and comms for one.”
“What? Really?”
“We spend most of our time on my side. Late night calls from sickbay can’t go unanswered.”
Jim looked at Scotty in wonder before he gave a laugh.
“I don’t suppose—”
“No problem. Tell me when,” Scotty grinned.
When the shuttle gave a shudder, Jim closed his eyes and Scotty looked out the window at the front of the shuttle.
“She’s here,” Scotty said. He pushed himself to sit up. The Enterprise was closing in on them.
“They’ve got us in the tractor beam,” Jim said, opening his eyes again. “Bones and a team are standing by in the shuttle bay.”
“He’s not going to be happy seeing us like this,” Scotty said looking at the cut on Jim’s face and the bruising beginning to surround it.
“No,” Jim corrected. “He’s going to blame me.”
“Nae Jim, he just gets worried. So worried and it comes out like anger. If he didn’t yell at us some, that’s when I’d be concerned.”
Jim managed a weak smile. “Ok,” he agreed with a nod.
The door opened nearly as the shuttle settled on the hangar floor. The doctor was in the shuttle quickly with Spock hot on his heels. McCoy’s face went a few shades paler as he took in Scotty half laying, half sitting on the shuttle floor. His cheek twitched and he seemed to stop himself before he said something.
“What happened?” he finally managed, crouching close to Scotty and beginning to turn the engineer’s head to look at the gash.
“I dinnae ken,” Scotty said, before murmuring something else to McCoy.
Spock looked over with a questioning look, before turning back to Jim.
“Captain, are you injured?”
Jim shook his head. “Just this.” He pointed to his face. “Oh, and my ribs might be bruised. Scotty got pierced and pinned by the shuttle.” Jim pointed at the crushed console where Scotty had been sitting.
“I did what I could, Bones,” Jim continued as McCoy pushed away the blanket to see Scotty’s leg.
“At least something I said to you stuck,” McCoy grumbled. Jim saw Scotty reach for the doctor’s hand. A moment later McCoy added, “you did a good job kid.”
Jim began to get up.
“Sit back down!” McCoy commanded. “I haven’t checked you over yet. Spock, get Chapel and the stretcher in here for Mon— for Scotty.”
Jim felt his mouth twitch into a grin.
“So relieved to see your lover in one piece you almost forgot yourself, huh, Bones?”
Jim moved back a tiny bit as McCoy whipped around and glared at him.
“Aye, love, he knows,” Scotty said, touching McCoy’s shoulder. “And he’ll keep his mouth shut.” Scotty looked at Jim warningly.
“He better,” McCoy growled.
He reached for Jim’s chin and turned his face to see the cut. “Any pain? Light sensitivity? Dizziness?”
Jim pulled his chin away and shook his head. “No, but you’re still going to force me to medbay aren’t you?”
“You know it,” McCoy said, a faint smile appearing slowly. “Thanks for taking care of him,” he said softly.
“You’d have done the same for me and- and Spock,” Jim admitted.
McCoy raised an eyebrow. “Dammit, now I owe you twenty credits don’t I?” he said looking over his shoulder at Scotty.
Scotty grinned. “Aye, ye do.”
“What?” Jim asked in disbelief. “You bet on us?”
“Of course,” Scotty said. “Ye made it obvious.”
“No!— We— No—” Jim shook his head, but the color continued to rise on his face.
“Oh Mr. Scott! You poor thing!” came the voice of Nurse Chapel.
“It’s nae so bad Nurse, the captain did a fine job patching me.”
“Well Dr. McCoy will get you fixed and back to engineering before you know it,” she smiled.
“Yeah he will,” Jim muttered under his breath as the doctor and nurse helped Scotty onto the stretcher.
“Lt. Keenser is already on his way up with a team to begin repairs,” Spock said.
“Good,” Scotty said. “I think I could do with a day off.” He winked at McCoy, who began to blush and Jim laughed.
“Make it two days Scotty. I want you back in top form.”
“Aye aye sir,” Scotty grinned.

DPxDC Danny's Strange Gifts to the Bats
So you know how it's common knowledge to not accept any gifts from the Fae? Well, even if the batfam knows about it - I mean, they've dealt with a lot of otherworldly stuff, besides, you shouldn't take things from strangers no matter if they are Fae or not - they might not always abide by it. Unknowingly.
The trick is that you never know if it's a gift or not when you're dealing with the fair folk.
So things start appearing in the Wayne manor. Nothing out of the ordinary, really. A book left on the table in the library, a vintage teacup in the kitchen drawer, a cat toy with some real bird feathers. No one pays them much attention. After all, when you live in a family this big, you don't really keep track of who brings home what.
The book was probably left by Jason. The teacup is most likely Alfred's new addition. The cat toy is totally Damian's. It's not the first time and surely not the last when one or another member of the flock brought something to the manor. The book is put on the shelf, the teacup is now Steph's favorite, and Alfred the cat really likes those feathers.
And then, one day, they all get down for breakfast. Damian is the first to appear, with Alfred the cat in his hands, then comes Dick, who stayed in the manor for the weekends, and Steph, who was here for the movie night and decided going home was too much work. Tim comes to the table with a tablet that is quickly put away the moment Alfred starts serving food. Bruce and Duke come the last, taking their seats, and it is almost like a signal for everyone to start eating. After all, everyone is here now. It is peaceful and quiet, a rare but not unwelcome occurrence that Bruce greatly appreciates.
That is, until a few minutes later, Damian appears in the doorway.
"Good morning," he greets, and everyone at the table freezes.
And then does a double take.
Damian is in the doorway.
Damian is also sitting in his seat, eating waffles, the only one who did not stop when the other Damian appeared.
There are two of them.
Damian-sitting-at-the-table looks up to Damian-standing-in-the-doorway and smiles. His face is stuffed with waffles.
"Goov movning, bvothev," he greets back, and before anyone else can react, Damian-in-the-doorway clicks his tongue.
"You are in my seat. Move."
"I don't see your name on it, therefore it is not yours," argues the other one, not moving from his place. Yet now, when everyone can see his eyes, they finally notice the difference. The one sitting at the table has blue eyes.
Tim all but jumps up from his seat, slamming his hands on the tabletop:
"You-" he nearly chokes on his words, when blie-eyed Damian looks at him, and then at everyone at the table with a confused frown.
"But I thought you liked the vintage films for your camera that I got you? And those four-leaved clovers?" He asks, looking almost hurt. The normal, green-eyed Damian looks thoroughly disappointed:
"Have you been accepting my brother's gifts, Drake? You're lucky they were not courtship gifts."
"Court-" Tim sputters in the middle of the word, looking between the two.
Bruce lets out a long, absolutely resigned sigh. Was it too much to ask for just one, single normal morning?..
Long story short, Danny, being a fae and also just generally a little shit, kept leaving gifts for Bats all over the manor, and they all unknowingly accepted them one way or another, so now Danny has the power to ask for something in return. He chooses to just come to the manor and dump the fact that he is going to live here on them at breakfast. Technically, he just ended the long line of gifts by giving the last one, himself.

Ohhh, I'm rereading Mystra's entry in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide... and this detail:
Tumblr media
This means Gale was punished for trying to restore and preserve what he thought was a lost piece of Mystra's magic. Gale being Mystra's ex-lover put aside. He as her follower, she his goddess, was punished for attempting to do the one foundational rule of her faith.
I'm seething and so sad at the same time.
Edit: I used the word punish loosely, as in, toxic/abusive people will take any small mistake or action and twist it into something they can take advantage of. This post was also largely from the stand point of a toxic deity rather than a toxic partner, but both takes are valid here. Especially with the, “you didn’t stay compliant so now I’m giving you the silent treatment” part of it—from a god and a partner perspective.

I still haven’t finished it leannan, but here’s the next bit… @hummingbird-of-light
Stuck Here With You
“Good. At least Bones can’t kill me over that,” Jim muttered. He got down on the floor of the shuttle to investigate around Scotty’s legs.
“How do the rest of your legs feel?” Jim asked, pushing tentatively at the shuttle wall.
“Sore. But nothing feels broken if that’s what you’re asking,” Scotty said. He gave a sudden shudder.
Jim frowned up at him. “You’re shivering,” he stated.
“Nae,” Scotty tried to deny through trembling lips.
“Adrenaline wearing off,” Jim murmured. Bones had drilled him on first aid enough times. He sat back on his heels and pulled off his gold command shirt. “Here.” He draped it over Scotty’s shoulders. “I’ll find a blanket in a minute. I’m gonna cut your pant leg so I can see what’s going on.”
Jim dug back into the medkit and found a pair of scissors. He started carefully at Scotty’s ankle and cut upward until he could pull the fabric apart. His eyes widened at the sight of a sharp piece of metal digging into the side of Scotty’s calf.
“Uh. Does this hurt?” Gently he probed around the spot with his fingertips. Scotty yelped.
“Aye! Stop!”
Jim pulled his hand back quickly. “Sorry.”
“It’s alright lad. I know ye didn’t mean it.” Scotty panted the words out.
Jim leaned in closer to investigate. “I think I can take care of it, but I still just don’t know if I should touch it,” he said unsurely. “Bones has warned me so many times about removing something that might be keeping a cap on everything.” He sat back and looked up at Scotty miserably. “Is our comm really out?”
“As far as I can tell from here,” Scotty nodded. “Our beacon is out too.”
“Shit,” Jim muttered. “We’re stuck here and they won’t even know where to find us.”
Something gave a twitch by Scotty’s eye, but he kept his sudden thought to himself.
“Ok,” Jim said after a few deep breaths. “We can do this. There are plenty of ways we could jury rig or bypass things to get the comm working.”
“Aye, but most of those things I won’t be able to get to from here.” Scotty gestured at his legs. “And ye won’t know all the little tricks I do.”
“I have to get that out of your leg then,” Jim said after another deep breath. “I don’t want to hurt you.” He gave Scotty a worried look.
“Ye have to do what ye have to do,” Scotty shrugged, though his face matched Jim’s worry.
Flashes of Scotty bleeding out in front of him went through Jim’s head as he reached for the medkit again. He pulled it close to himself on the floor.
“It’s barely bled,” he said, moving in to examine the leg again. “I mean, it’s definitely punctured you, but it’s also holding everything in. Too bad we can’t just cut the wall and leave it in until Bones can take care of it.”
“Can ye just picture his face?”
Jim could hear Scotty’s smile even though he couldn’t see it.
“He’d probably say something like, ‘dammit Jim! I’m a doctor not a metalworker!’” Jim did his best impression of Dr. McCoy’s southern accent. He was rewarded with a laugh from Scotty.
“Ok. I’m gonna try something now,” Jim said when they calmed again. He had a sterile pad ready in his hand, and had braced his back against the console in front of their chairs. Setting his feet next to the wall piercing Scotty he took a deep breath.
Pushing with all the strength from his legs that he could, Jim felt a slight give to the crushed in wall. Scotty gave a sudden sharp cry. A fresh smell of blood filled the air. Jim had done it. The metal was no longer piercing Scotty’s leg, but now blood was running freely from the wound.
Jim hurriedly slapped the sterile pad over the long cut, and got himself rearranged as he applied pressure.
“Are you ok?” he asked, worried anew.
“It… hurts now…” Scotty gasped out, breaths hissing from between his lips.
“Can you move?”
It was a long few moments before Scotty spoke, pain evident in his voice.
“Yes. But the belt’s jammed.”
Jim groped with a hand and found the scissors he had used just a while before. He handed them up.
He heard two snips and then the clank of metal as Scotty tossed the cut pieces aside.
“Where do ye want me?” Scotty sounded exhausted and his voice was trembling.

i adore Maruki as a character because he's simultaneously the most relatable depressing character that will make you cry with empathy, and the goofiest wettest cat loser in the game like what do you mean youre a licensed therapist and your first response to trauma is to brainwash a girl, project ur relationship issues onto a 17 yr old boy, and then rule the world in a golden leotard? bro went from 0 to 100 so fast??? anyway he's like 30% of the reason why p5r works as well as it does
