Helluva Boss Theory “Stolas and Blitzo Relationship, How Will It Progress”

i did very smilar post like this awhile ago talking about stolas and blitzo relationship, on where it’s is right now, their history, and what they need to do in order to progress, but i wanted to theorize on how the relationship will progress in the seasons and episodes to come

Brief Rundown

their relationship at the current moment is not healthy for either party involve, blitzo has alot, and i mean ALOT of issues with intimacy and love, he’s afraid to be vulnerable and let himself love someone so he pushes people away and hurts them as a way to protect himself from getting hurt, he literally sabotaged his relationship with verosika, this is his coping mechanism to avoid getting hurt

stolas is different yet has the same issues, he wants intimacy, he wants love, and he wants to be loved, to be saved by his prince charming, but he doesn’t know how to get it, all of his relationships he’s been nothing but a pawn for people to use and play with expect for his daughter, even blitz in the past and now only uses him because he’s useful, stolas doesn’t know how to get love or how to reciprocate it properly without making it seem like it’s just about sex

not to mention their mental states at the current moment, blitz has a lot of trauma with him and he’s not coping with it in a healthy way, he’s destructive with all of his relationships and literally holds so much resentment and self-hatred for himself that he truly believes he only hurts the people he loves in his life and that their better off without him, just look at the pictures in his house, all his faces are crossed off, he doesn’t value himself at all, which is why it was esy in the beginning to have sex with stolas, because it didn’t mean anything, but then they started to catch feelings, and it started to freak blitzo out, because he’s afraid of loving people, he’s afraid to love stolas because he doesn’t want to get attached and hurt

stolas mental state isn’t really any better, for one, he’s been raised as a kid to be useful, or else he’s worthless, his dad only ever cared or shown him attention was when it involved him getting his royal duties done, essentially he was using him for whatever he was useful for, which defiantly put his self-esteem down at such a young age, and his toxic abusive relationship with stella put his mental state even worse, he was abused both mentally and physically, and couldn’t get out due it being an arranged marriage, and that can really fuck up someone’s mental state horribly

stolas was raised to never voice his thoughts or have an opinion, that his voice didn’t matter and that he was only good for whatever he was useful for, he was basically shamed to be himself, he was literally caged, and yes while he is privilege in life, being rich and from loyalty, he truly has nothing, he has nobody by his side expect for his daughter, he’s completely and utterly alone

it wasn’t until the cheating and after the ozzie’s incident is where stolas finally had the courage to stand up to stella and demand a divorce, and you can tell from stella’s face when he caught her hand that he had never, ever tried to stop her from doing that before, typically in abusive relationships, the victim never really fights back out of fear of escalating the situation any further, and this is very true in stolas case, before that moment, he never tried to fight back, he tried to keep things level headed and calm

another reason why abuse victims don’t leave is because they feel trapped, isolated and think that the abuse is normal, and this all true, the marriage was arranged against his will, of course he had no way to get out at the time, he was also isolated due to having no support system and was trapped even more because of octavia, i have no doubt in my mind that stella would’ve used octavia against him had he try to get a divorce sooner, and considering how shitty his childhood was, he probably thought the abuse was normal and that this was what he was supposed to do, stay complacent and take the abuse, never speak out and stay in line

when he had met blitz at the “not divorced party”, it was his fantasy coming true, that his knight in shinning armour was here to save him, when in reality that wasn’t the case, but he let himself believe that it was so he could have something to get him through the day, that was until ozzie’s happened, and everything hit him at once, that his fantasy coming true and blitzo loving him was all just a lie for him to engulf in, that he used him to get in to spy on his friends and for his book

what will happen now?

their are so many directions on where their relationship can go, but i personally believe it will be a very long time before we see their relationship turn into a healthy lovey dovy one, i remember seeing a comment about vivzie and saying how it’s going be a low burn, and i personally think the same as well, if they move too fast in this relationship with how they are right now, it will end badly, they both need to heal and learn about commitment and proper and affective communication if they want to have this relationship

i actually saw someone on twitter pointing out that when in the teaser trailer for season two, when blitzo sends out moxxie on a mission, he seems more agitated then usual and seems to be holding something in his hand, with is a small box, and i personally think this is the asmodeus crystals that have been shown in blitzo’s book

asmodeus crystals can turn demons into human forms and take them into earth, i think not long after the L.A episode, stolas will send him the crystals through mail, in his mind he’s setting blitz free from the deal, wanting to make him happy and not force him to remain in their position, but we know blitz likes him and doesn’t want to let him go, so he’s angry at the crystal because in his mind, he’s stolas rejecting him and proving him right about only being his favourite little imp thing to play with, so he’s hurt

i also think that their will be a moment were they’ll get into a huge, HUGE fight over it, with blitzo accusing him of only using him and stolas losing his patience and telling him that he should be happy cause now he’s not trapped with him anymore, and it this will be their falling out, their “break up”, i do think they will have a breakup in their relationship, cause their’s no way in hell they can progress if they don’t go through something like this

they’ll probably meet up under forced circumstances, talk things over and then finally slowly begin to work on things and on their relationship, i mentioned before that their love confession won’t be a typical i love you, their love confession is not gonna be a magical thing, it’s gonna be a real, gut-wrenching like “HOLY SHIT THIS IS TOO REAL”

I love Blitz and Fizz’s friendship arc in OOPS so so much because it basically proves that Blitz isn’t the broken, unforgivable creature he thinks he is. If Blitz can be forgiven by the one person he arguably hurt most in the world, then who’s to say he doesn’t deserve love and happiness in the rest of his life??? It puts a crack in his entire worldview and I’m so here for it.

watched the new Helluva Boss today and I love how Fizzarolli is just the living embodiment of that post about how working in a sex shop makes you impossible to shock. You know Blitz called him and is like “hey I need to make Stolas cum so hard he forgets how to spell” and Fizz is just like “I got you, fam, I’ll put on my gayest pants for the occasion”

and I love that for both of them.

I am in no way dismissing Blitzo's trauma for why he is the way he is, but I don't get people saying Stolas sprung his confession onto Blitzo. The guy hasn't been subtle about his feelings and what he wants for a while.

I mean, are we forgetting the joke where Blitzo was ranting about Stolas "pretending to care" and Fizz being like "dude, that's obviously not fake" and Blitzo still not getting it? Like, I'm not saying Blitzo is at fault or his feelings aren't valid or anything. The guy was oblivious to the truth for personal insecurities, but that doesn't mean Stolas actually jump-scared him with his confession.

Helluva Boss Theory “Stolas and Blitz Relationship”

i’ve been wanting to do this post for so long and now i finally get too after seeing enough evidence to make my case

a very brief rundown of their relationship

stolas and blitz knew each other as childhood friends, however it was an arrangement done by stolas shitty dad because he “didn’t want to deal with him”, and blitz shitty dad forced him into doing his dirty work by tricking stolas into giving away most of his items around the castle, but at the end, we see the two bonding a little and formed at least some sort of friendship with each other

years later they reconnected, with blitz only wanting the book, and stolas, desperate for real love, makes a deal, once a month on the full moon, they both have sex and blitz gives the book back to him, and then for the rest of the month, blitz get’s to keep it the rest of the time

when did it start to become more complicated?

i personally think it was around ep 5 where things began to get complicated between the two, and feelings started to spike, like when striker ask’s about his relationship between him and stolas, blitz get’s flustered and embarrassed, which is not usual for him, and we can even see M&M smirking at each other, rolling their eyes, etc.., and i think that says a lot, considering that moxxie and millie are very happily married couple, so i think they can see the signs when someone is clearly starting to develop feelings

then in ep 6 and 7, we got to see their was a shit load more then we all thought, in ep 6, during blitz acid trip, we see stolas in his trip, and how he views him and their position, with stolas sitting in a thorn, and blitz in chains, being dragged up by him, and him being slightly flustered about it, i’ve seen alot of people’s theories of this and the meaning behind it, and here’s mine, blitz views he’s relationship with stolas being superior to him, royal, regal and above him in everything, meanwhile, in blitz’s mind, he thinks stolas views him as his “impish little plaything”, someone who he likes sexually, nothing more, and considering that stolas has the one thing that keep his business going, the book, he feels chained to him, and it could also means he feels like property to stolas, instead of a love partner, which is how most royals view imps, lower then them

and in ep 7, it showed us alot more, and it just confirmed that blitz does care about stolas, even if he doesn’t show it, like when he drives him home when even though stolas can make a portal, when he nearly cries at the thought of stolas trying to pretend as though they are a couple, and he even apologizes for not having sex with stolas even though he really had no reason to apologize in the first place, and while he’s scrolling through his phone, we see the most recent picture of him and stolas cuddling, with a soft smile on blitz face

and in the newest episode of season 2, we see little moments between the two, how they bicker at each other, how slightly more hostile they are towards each other, and the little flirting moments they have, and how blitz was literally fucking mesmerized by human stolas, which is kinda big considering he thinks all humans are fucking gross and ugly, even his own daughter human form is awful to him

(to be fair though, stolas couldn’t be ugly even if he tried lol)

in stolas point of view, it’s different, in ep 5, we can see he’s as flirty and clingy as ever to blitz, but in a very sexual way, nothing really have off the idea that stolas was actually in love with blitz until ep 7,when stolas is alone watching soap operas while eating cereal in his red robe

and when he gets the call from blitz asking him out on a “date”, his whole mood changes, along with his usual flirty persona, he got dressed up, wore makeup and even made a whole ass entrance just to impress blitz, and during the ENTIRE TIME, he’s socially awkward as fuck and a complete nervous wreck, and he’s tries to desperately to have an actual conversation with him without it being sexual, this was stolas’s first real date with someone he actually liked and the fact that it wasn’t actually a date and blitz was just using him to get inside to spy on moxie and Millie is even more upsetting

and in season 2 ep 1, we get the backstory between the two and it really reveals what kind of person stolas is, he’s not the type to purposefully hurt a loved one, which is why he cheated on stella, he wouldn’t have cheated if their marriage was real, but it wasn’t, their relationship was arranged, not to mention stella is very abusive and toxic, the only thing that kept him going through the abuse and awful trapped marriage was his daughter, and when blitz came into his life again, he let himself believe what they had was real and intimate, but then he came to realize that what was between them was a “comfortable lie”, something he can fantasize about to help him get through the day and to finally have something look forward too, but that ended up being a lie too, literally all of stolas relationships have been him being used, his dad only using him for complete his royal duties, stella using him for his status and as her punching bag, blitz for his own personal gain, literally the only true relationship he has with anyone is his daughter Octavia, 

stolas doesn’t know how to show love, and since their relationship started sexual, stolas thought that was how he was supposed to act, but he unintentionally hurt blitz, especially at ozzie’s when he hid his face, but he wasn’t ashamed of blitz in that moment, it was more-so embarrassed that his bad laundry was being aired out in front of everyone and didn’t know how to handle it, but we can tell he deeply regretted hurting blitz like that, when he tries to offer blitz to spend some more time together, blitz lashes out on him, accusing him of only using him for his sexual gain, and then drives off, leaving stolas alone to cry to himself and get drunk

now, in season 2 ep 2, since the episode was focused on octavia, we didn’t really see alot of stolas and blitz, but we did get to glimpse of it, first all, stolas isn’t flirty and as sexual with him anymore, and not once does he call him “blitzy”, just blitz, and during their little banter about the memorizing the spells, stolas actually claps back at him, instead of laughing or downplaying his insults like he usually does, 

and when blitz is preforming in stage and stolas laughs at his joke, he winks at him, which causes stolas to blush and get flustered, not to mention when stolas turns into his human form, blitzo entire demure change's for a few seconds, like the man is star-strucked by how outrageously good-looking stolas is in his human form, and keep in mind, blitzo thought his own daughter’s human form was awful, he thinks humans are ugly and gross, STOLAS IS THE EXCEPTION TO THIS!!!

Can this relationship improve?

yes, it can, because now we see exactly what the issues are between them, blitz is traumatized from his previous relationships and while he craves intimacy and love, he’s terrified of it because of the hurt and betrayal it comes with, and he doesn’t want to be in a position where he feels beneath someone

stolas is in a similar position as blitz, but he isn’t really afraid of intimacy, he’s just never experienced genuine love and relationships before and he doesn’t know how to approach it

right now, things between them are very, very awkward, and we’re not completely sure on how things are gonna be when the full moon comes, i don’t think they’ll pretend as though ozzie’s never happened, to many things happened their to the point where it shouldn’t be downplayed

if these two want a healthy relationship with each other, they have to communicate, which is something both of them don’t know how to do, but once they do, i feel like their confession will be messy, it won’t be an “aww, that’s so wholesome” it’ll be more of a “holy shit THIS IS FUCKING REAL AND HEARTBREAKING”!!

and honestly communication isn’t the only thing they need for this to become an actual healthy relationship, they also beed to work through their trauma, with blitz learning to love again and healing from his past, and with stolas unlearning the things he picked on up in his abusive relationship with stella, cause i know once he get’s out of that situation, he’s gonna be in a really mad place mentally, cause now that’s he’s out of that toxic relationship, he has to heal from the abuse, but i do think they can make it work, but it would be very slow, and rocky, and heartfelt the entire time

Octavia's and Blitzø's potential relationship development

I believe that the show, despite Octavia openly hating Blitzø, gives us some hints that they have much more in common than it seems. I’ve noticed a couple of moments where Blitzø and Octavia are… pretty much in sync, if that makes sense.

Here are those moments I’ve noticed… maybe stretched in some places, but! Hear me out!

1. Here, they don’t hear each other, but both are repulsed by Stolas’s obnoxious language and express the same reaction. It’s funny that Stolas is the one calling them out.

2. They also share a distaste for Stolas’s behavior throughout the episode, albeit in slightly different ways. In fact, this serves as a great demonstration of how deaf and blind Stolas is to obvious social cues at the beginning of the series—he doesn’t stop even when directly asked to do so on multiple occasions.

Blitzø is disgusted by Stolas’s awkward, overly sexual advances and demeaning language towards him and his work.

Octavia is taken aback by essentially the same. However, she blames both of them, understandably failing to recognize that Blitzø is just as uncomfortable as she is. From her perspective, Blitzø is a homewrecker who contributed to destroying her parents' marriage.

[Stolas]: You know, it's quite thrilling to see you on the job, Blitzy.[Blitzø]: Save it, bitch, I am working. [Octavia]: You both need to get a room. S1EP2, Loo Loo Land, 8:20

3. They share the hate for the same clown!

[Blitzø and Octavia]: I hate that fucking clown. S1EP2, Loo Loo Land, 8:50

4. They seem to have similar tastes in music! The song My World Is Burning Down Around Me, which Octavia plays to tune out Stella’s screaming, is also heard in Blitzø’s van when he comes to pick up Loona in the Queen Bee episode, although it’s only instrumental. Here, have a look. If, for some reason, the service with the timeframes isn’t working, I’ll also provide the timings in writing so you can check it yourself on YouTube.

Octavia turns on the song, and for a while, we can hear the lyrics before it fades into the background as the scene shifts to Stella yelling at Stolas and later to Stolas’s conversation with Octavia. S1EP2, Loo Loo Land, 2:52 - 3:50

The song’s instrumental version can be heard when Blitzø’s van arrives, and the background noise at Queen Bee’s club is different, so there’s no chance for misinterpretation. It is the music Blitzø’s was listening to. S1EP8, Queen Bee, 8:20 - 9:14

5. Haha, they freak out in the same way in the Seeing Stars episode! I know it’s probably just a stylistic choice to transition from Octavia’s initial experience with LA to Blitzø having to contact Stolas and explain what happened. However, I might be indulging in a bit of wishful thinking, suggesting that this similarity in their stress responses could have some deeper meaning.

So-o... What am I trying to say with all these points I've made?

Like the kind of delulu who yells, "Ghostfuckers, save us!" (we know Viv, we know how trying to put our hopes up ends, haha), I draw a complete unhinged card and I am going to make a very bold claim:

I think that once Stolas and Blitzø finally get their shit and themselves back together, and Octavia realizes there’s much more to the story than, “Oh, it’s just horny dad cheated on my mum with a red lizard dickhead and my dad ruined my family,” Octavia could actually bond with Blitzø quite nicely, and he would make a good second dad to her! Well, don’t get me wrong. She might never want to take it to that level. Also, we don’t know how things will turn out, nor do we know her relationship with her mum, Stella.

But I do believe that their parallels were thrown in for a reason. Despite the circumstances, they can, and maybe will, be on much better terms than they currently are.

Go on, call me delusional and leave me be in my complete denial corner. <3 I admit I do tend to forget the current state of the Stolitz relationship in the series, as in my world, where I’m prioritizing my time working on that fic, they are finally together. I am bitter-sweetly excited that @tealvenetianmask and I are slowly but surely getting close to finishing it. :)

s2ep9 sucks ass here's me tring to fix it :

just changing points i don't feel like doing a script :

1- blitzo doesn't apologies to random people like martha just peole who he knew befre like moxxie, millie, octavia and some of his exes

2- verosika doesn't make the party she was invited like stolas think of it like one of those big influential celebrity and political demons thing

3- now this really depends on how you see stolas but he either realize his doings or he's still the toxic villain he is

4-verosika meets him and talk about blitz and she confess how weird she acted before and how she moved on (i don't think it's uncommon for exes to meet randomly and fight i can't emphasize how her and blitz were toxic in this relationship and not just make her this obsessive ex they made her to be)

5-blitz might have done wrong to some of his exes but not to the degree of stolas

6-blitz crashes this part to finally tell stolas everything he has done to him and not apologizing this ends very bad as you can imagine

7-blitz and verosika have a heart to heart giving us how they treated each other and finally clean things

they might forgive and forget or not but anything is better then they way thy made him and fizz talk again

8- verosika looks at stolas and since she doesnt know him well and with the way blitz reacted she tells blitzo to work on himself after all this and focus on his family and to stop this dating cycle for all good

9- again idk what version of stolas you like but he ends up return home and think about everything

I've figured it out, why I'm always a bit thrown about people defending Blitz this episode. Like don't get me wrong Stolas has not been perfect and has to grapple with his classism/etc. But like, in my head, I've always gone, 'but that isn't the point of this episode/fight/current conflict' but didn't really have the words to explain. But now I do.

Because, the whole point of apology tour (and everything that built to it) is that even if Stolas was a perfect boyfriend, even if they didn't have the complicated power dynamic and Stolas being really demeaning, etc, none of it matters because it would always have ended the same. Blitz would always set fire to the relationship the moment he confessed his love, it's what he did with Verosika after all. It's what he's implied to have done with more than half the people at the party.

Stolas could have been perfect, and nothing truly would have changed. Blitz right now is incapable of letting someone love him without lashing out. The whole prince thing is just a convenient excuse to yell and scream about, it's not actually the point. Like don't get me wrong, there's truth to it, but Blitz is weaponizing it to shove Stolas away. If he didn't have that, he would find something else to use against him.

I love Blitz, but he's a terrible person. His trauma only explains his actions but doesn't justify them. Apology Tour is the episode that finally shoved in his face his fuck-ups in all their glory, and gave him the wake-up call to finally do something about them.

I'm thinking about Blitz's tendancy to push people away by acting out and like. His usual M.O. is to start a relationship, get spooked, and then do something destructive to make the other person hate him, right? Verosika confessed her feelings, so he freaked out and stole her car and credit card. Cool. Good system.

But his entire relationship with Stolas was already built on theft, so that would've made it very hard for Blitz to do his usual routine, even if he'd wanted to.

Stolas: I have feelings for you.

Blitz: No you don't. I'm gonna steal your shit.

Stolas: ...okay? Bring it back when you're done?
