Meta + Stephanie and the idea of having kids—
oh boy. you ready for a long ramble? i have a lot of. thoughts.
being a parent is not something that really pops until steph's head until she has a pregnancy scare. in the several verses i have established with steph i have varying thoughts on when this particular scare happens, but she has one before her senior year of high school. she's safe and responsible, but one late period sends her into a crisis and she immediately stops and buys four tests on the way home. to say that the ten minutes of waiting she is having a crisis the whole time is an understatement, steph's brain trying her best to think about how she would be a parent, what she would do, where she would go. the relief that she felt seeing a very clear negative was strong, but the thought linger on what if should it have been positive. her father's reaction to those four tests in the garbage, despite the fact that all of them of one line on them was enough for her to solidify the fact that she shouldn't be a parent--- her one parent that she had was far from supportive and cared for nothing save for him image, meanwhile her mother had hit the road when steph was just three years old, leaving both her only child and her husband behind. regardless of circumstances, what sort of mother would she be based on her example? she had no direction in her life, she had no idea what she would be doing out of high school- what could she offer to a child?
in verses where she has people around her who have kids and she gets to be around them, for a moment, steph is a little antsy at first but very quickly she starts to entertain the idea of maybe she would be a decent mom. she is in no rush though.
the worry and thought had never really left her head and when she's older, out of high school, probably out of college with a degree to her name, and maybe even a whole new last name, when it comes to taking another test again and there is two lines waiting for her it scares her a little, and it for sure is not planned, but she has a little more faith in herself and a lot more faith in her partner ( which im just going to say pete for this because i am in fact. lautski trash ) . the worry sits in the corner of her mind, but she also grows this determination to do better, to give more than what her parents had not. it's far from planned and she still is nervous but she gets more and more excited about it.
and with that in mind, after having a first, determined to make sure this kid does not feel alone, like she felt, despite knowing they will do ten times better, and knowing how pete has a brother and knows a bit about that she very quickly brings up the idea of having another that is a little more planned.
tldr it's a lot of fear and doubt in herself till she gets there or around people who have kids or with time and figuring out herself and working through uh. her childhood, and an accident happens and she slowly but surely gets excited to being to be a mom.

My selkie Batfam AU! Where selkies are not only seals/aquatic animals, but can be other animals. Born with their pelt, and if they are separated from them since their birth it doesn’t really hurts them, but it makes them feel very empty, like they are missing something very, very important, but they don’t know why (kinda like Crack baby, by Mitski).
Bruce: lion (black) like his parents were.
Dick: wolf (grey)
Barbara: human
Jason: bear (brown)
Tim: human, but not really (lynx).
Stephanie: human
Damian: lion (brown) like Thalia.
Cass: tiger
Duke: human
Alfred: human
Who else should i have?
Ideas so far:
• Tim being mocked by Jason (during the attack at TT) and Damian (during his murder attemps) for being the only robin to be human. And btw, he isn’t living in the manor, he stays in The Nest.
• Damian being taught that he was bigger than his other soul and animal instincts, that if he wanted to be strong and worthy he had to control his animal soul and stop needing it or using it.
• I think I like the idea of Steph being a rat or something small like her mother, and her dad being all like “you useless fuck, ofc you had to be something weak and insignificant, you are weak just like your mother and blah blah blah”. Tell me what you think about it, and well make a decision together.
• Babs being human and not understanding selkie’s at all when she first began working with the bats, but then when she finds that B and Dick are both selkies she just becomes a master about their selkie cultures and habitats and how to treat with them and learns what to do and what not to do. So when another human of the pack needs help understanding one of the selkies, they ask for her help. Except Tim, tho. He kind of always got them at the first try… weird, huh?
• Alfred has to raise young selkie Bruce Wayne all alone after the Waynes' death, and as a human, he tried to teach him how to be a selkie. But a mere human is not really a good mentor for a selkie.
• Slade taking Dick’s pelt away when he was training him, and Dick suffering through feeling like half of his soul had been snatched from him. Feeling it so close, yet too far. And being forced to obey Slade’s every order, until he manages to take his pelt back and scape.
• Jason’s pelt getting burned in Ethiopia, and Bruce keeping it locked away, so when Jason comes back to life he is easier to manipulate by Thalia saying that Bruce threw away his pelt after he replaced him. And Jason blaming that on Tim when he attacks him on TT.
• SPOILER ALERT: Tim’s mom is a selkie, but since she got pregnant with Tim, she stayed as a human and hid her pelt away. She was hoping for Tim to be born completely human, and instead, he was born a selkie. She hid it from her husband, thinking that this way, taking his pelt since birth, he would grow to not need it and could live a normal life just like his human father. She did write a separate testament from his husband, way before she died, where she left a box for Tim. Inside the box is his pelt, and a letter explaining everything. Tim only gets to that box after she dies, and his dad enters a vegetative state after the accident overseas. The thing is that Tim never quite opens the box. He just leaves it somewhere well hidden in his old room at the Wayne manor. And since he never stays the night in his old room anymore, he just never got around to open it. One day, he will, tho.
Please tell me if I should keep this up? I already have a draft done, so if you guys like this idea, I'll publish it :3
I'll write many fics for every character, so it's not very 'one character centric'

trick or treat !! 🍊
hello my dear orange anon <3
for you i have a canonverse jaytim fic! this would be early relationship or maybe gen? it's in my jaytim ideas doc though, so most likely shippy haha
the working title is "as you are" and is... more or less tim demonstrating that he accepts jason as he is, with a side helping of telling bruce off <3
Tumblr media
A series of murders in the Bowery, Alley, and near the docks seem linked to Jason. Bruce certainly seems convince he did it, despite protesting his innocence. The others doubt, but, well. Jason’s killed before, and even if they may have privately (or overtly) agreed with his past decisions, it makes it hard to look at this and say, objectively, he didn’t do it—despite his claims.
Except for Tim.
He’s late to the Cave, for once—caught up in a meeting or research in the Nest. As soon as realizes what they’re arguing over, he disagrees. Loudly.
“Are you—?” Tim pinches the bridge his nose, then says flatly, “Jason didn’t do it, Bruce.”
Bruce’s lips thin. “You don’t know that, Tim.”
“The same way that you know that he did?” Tim’s tone is scathing. By this point Jason has fallen silent, and the others have dropped the pretense of trying to pretend they aren’t listening. Tim and Bruce have always seemed to get along—with disagreements minor, or behind closed doors. That they’re fighting now, over this… Jason isn’t sure what to think. “You’re ignoring the evidence.”
“I’m... ignoring the evidence.” Bruce’s response is slow, disbelieving.
Tim nods. His fingers fly over the keys. “First, the method of execution is the same across deaths—but none of the victims are connected. Jason only uses the same method when he wants to make a point—but I don’t see what ‘point’ is being made here.
“Second, the disposal. Jason doesn’t hide bodies—usually—it’s true, but he also doesn’t pose them. In most of these, the scene was tampered with. The only exception is number six—looks the murderer was interrupted… which brings me to three.
“Third, Jason has never denied that he killed someone. If someone shows up to a scene, he doesn’t bother leaving unless he’s ready, or unless he has reasons he doesn’t want to be caught up in a long-form confrontation. And then, when you askif he killed someone, he’ll confirm that he did, and then tell you why.
“And that brings me to my most important point: Fourth, Jason kills for a reason. The background checks on these victims reveal criminal backgrounds, yes, but only one of them has done anything that would get them on Jason’s radar—but he hadn’t done it enough times to actually earn his wrath.
“The only way Jason would be involved and not say something is if someone else had done something and he was helping them cover it up, for whatever reasons. And even then I’m vaguely sure that, if covering it up didn’t work, he would just take responsibility, even if it didn’t make sense.” He pauses, staring hard at Bruce before turning to Jason. He asks pleasantly, “Did you do it?”
Jason’s, “No,” is faint; eyes round.
Tim nods once, and flashes him a reassuring smile. It’s the same smile he used to give as Robin—the same smile he picked up from Jason, who had learned it from his mother; using it on her repeatedly during her final days.
Tim turns back to Bruce. “Four pieces of evidence you missed.” He pauses, and then says, “Except I don’t think you did.” His voice sharpens.
Off to the side, Dick’s expression changes. He starts forward—but Alfred stays him. Dick looks at him. He’s not surprised, really—not the way he can feel Steph and Damian (and Jason) are. Alfred rarely ever got in the way of a Tim-and-Bruce fight, never tried mediating it the way he did Dick-and-Bruce fights or Jason-and-Bruce fights.
Tim continues, heedless of what’s going on in the background. “You ignored it. Jason being alive, working with us, showing up outside of casework—all of that’s too good to be true to you, isn’t it? You’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, and the longer it doesn’t, the more paranoid you get. You can’t let him in, but now you’re just keeping your distance, you’re pushing him away. Except you can’t push too hard without looking and feeling like an asshole. You need a reason—and now you’ve got one, and that matters more to you than the actual evidence.” Tim crosses his arms. “Self-destruction has never been a good look on you, B.”
Bruce says nothing.
Tim nods. Pivots on his heel and snags Jason’s arm. “C’mon,” he says.
Jason starts—but finds himself turning and following anyway; almost disappointed when Tim lets him go. “Where?”
“The Nest. I’ve got some cases I’d like you to look over.”
“What about—“
“They can solve it.”
As they climb on their bikes they hear, faintly, Alfred’s voice—
“Master Bruce, I think you ought to retire for the night. Perhaps… take some time to think. I’m sure the others can handle things in your absence?”
Then Dick— “Oh, um. Yeah. Yeah, we’ve got this. Steph and I have been going over some alternate suspects, and Damian’s been running background on one we think is… really promising. And I don’t mind picking up your patrol with Robin for tonight.”

Things i will be happy to see Stephanie Brown deal with in future comics (part one): the anti-hero concept
Steph was an independent hero for a very short time before she met Batman and Robin. She was an independent hero after that, of course, but I use independent and I mean without the influence of Batman and Tim and without being exposed to their laws.
It may have been a short time, but in that short time she managed to evade the police, commit vandalism, and almost murder her father (and believe me, I'm not kidding when I say that I think about that attempted murder at least twice a day)
During her time as Robin, she pulls off some very violent and even potentially deadly moves on her enemies, especially serial killers like Mr. Freeze, without a second thought, neither before nor after. In fact, she defends her actions to Batman.
Tumblr media
In other cases, she did things that weren't directly bad, but weren't exactly legal. Things that Jason is more likely to do than, for example, Superman. Like when instead of giving the money she took from a group of criminals she defeated to the police as evidence or even to have the money returned to its rightful owners, she donat it to charity.
Tumblr media
. Or when she asked Oracle to cause car accident to the ambulance she was in so she could escape, because the ambulance was going to the hospital her mother worked at, and she knew that would cause her mother to find out her secret identity. ( Batgirl 2009 #6)
And looking at the big picture, it's safe to say that Stephanie never cared about the small touches on the line that separates hero from anti-hero, and several times she came very close to crossing it.
This is also, in my opinion, the only excuse for the fact that in canon Stephanie and Jason seem pretty close ( arrrghhh). Stephanie is probably one of the Bats who would care the least about Jason's anti-hero status.
But Stephanie never had to directly confront the concept of an anti-hero, and never got to a point where she had to cross the line between hero and anti-hero completely.
The closest she got to it was in Spoiler/Hunterss: Blunt Trauma, and… it doesn't give us much, because her behavior there is... quite confusing.
she actively stops Hunterss from harming her father, saying she doesn't want him to die.
(It's important to note, she's not saying that murder is wrong or anything like that - she's talking specifically about her father. She doesn't want her father, specifically, to die)
Stephanie is a little alarmed when Huntress leaves behind the guy who started the flames and expresses indifference to his fate, which causes Huntress to not only ask her good questions, but good questions that Stephanie, in particular, should be affected by.
After all, she's the very case Huntress is talking about, and she's experienced Gotham's violence firsthand from a very young age.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We don't see Stephanie answering the Huntress's questions to herself, and we don't see her thinking about it later.
But, the questions she asks Batman after she makes a potentially deadly move on Mr. Freeze? She also brings up the fact that he tried to kill them.
And when she has the possibility to kill Black Mask (after he tortured her)? She chooses not to kill him. She can't do it. Black Mask deliberately teases her, making the same arguments she made to Batman, making good arguments, but Stephanie doesn't do it.
Not out of rejection of the idea of killing, out of loyalty to Batman. (i think we all can agree this is dumb and a bit ooc, but sometimes canon is dumb and ooc)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BUT, even when she did pretty questionable things, it was always with good intentions.
She became a spoiler not just to protect herself (which was totally fine! Standing up to your abuser is always good and acceptable) but also to protect her mother.
She did brought up the idea of taking money from the loot of the criminals she fought for herself a few times, but she's never done it, even though she and her mother probably needed it, and the one time she did something similar (taking Zesty from a store she and Tim saved from a robbery) she corrected herself and paid as soon as Tim pointed out to her that's stealing. (Robin 1993 #56).
Therefore, I think that of all the Bats, she is the one who would be the most interesting to see deal with the idea of a person who does bad things with good intentions.
I'm not saying Stephanie should be an anti-hero, mostly because I know how the Batfam fandom™ will react to that.
But it'll be very interesting to see her having to deal with the moral code of Jason, Helena, and others, and not just a moral code, but cases that she can understand, and the other Bats don't.
Give me a short comic where Stephanie meets a girl who killed her abusive father or the guy who raped her, and claims she did it to protect her mother, or to stop him from raping other girls in the future. ( Just like Steph did, without the killing.)
Give me situations that are hard for her to understand, situations that make will make her angry and complicated, like a case where she has to deal with a criminal trying to take over a gang so he can protect his wife and daughter and get them a better life.
Give me a comic where she gives a better explanation for the fact that she doesn't kill than "Batman" Give me a comic where Stephanie talks about how it felt to watch her father murder someone (Detective Comics #647) Give me a comic where Stephanie expresses an understanding of the cruelty of life in Gotham, an understanding that sometimes you have to kill to survive, but still chooses not to kill.

Day 6 sees a return of my very first AU! Alfred's Appreciation Party now has a chapter two: That's Mine
@maribat-calendar-events
Marinette collapsed onto her chaise longue and breathed a large sigh of relief. Her exams were finished and she had a glorious Christmas break to enjoy. She had completed all of her Christmas commissions and made all of the gifts for her friends and family.
“Girl, I hope you're ready to get your party on!” Alya called out, bursting into Marinette's room. When she didn't get a response, she dropped onto the end of the chaise longue. “Come on, Mari, everyone's going to this party and we deserve to let loose.”
“I just want to sleep,” she grumbled. She perked up when her phone lit up, a message from Damian coming through. Typing back enthusiastically, Marinette didn't notice Alya creeping up and reading her screen.
“Oh, is that your American beau?” The reporter asked, eyes glinting behind her glasses. “He's planning on visiting? That's perfect! When does he land?”
“He said he'll be ready to spend time with me tomorrow,” Marinette said with a warning in her voice. Alya harrumphed and pouted at the other girl. “Als, we've literally only seen each other in person one other time, don't you think it's important for us to get some time alone so that we can make sure we still mesh?”
“Fine, but if he's not getting here until tomorrow, that means you're free to come to the party tonight!” Alya looked far too pleased with herself and Marinette groaned goodnaturedly. “Girl, we are getting our best dance clothes out and giving all our friends heart attacks with how good we look.”
_ _ _
Damian threw his suitcase onto the bed of his hotel room and turned around to leave immediately. His room was part of a suite with three other bedrooms as Dick, Jason and Steph had all come along to Paris with him.
“Where's the fire?” Steph said as she lounged on a sofa in the living area of the suite. “Don't you wanna relax a little before you see Marinette, tomorrow?”
“Tt, it is none of your business what I plan to do with my evening,” Damian retorted, checking his hair in a mirror and straightening his outfit. He had selected a dark green shirt and was wearing his most comfortable jeans. It was smart whilst not being too stiff and he was determined to make a proper acquaintance with Marinette's parents.
“Oh, I see, you've got a date and you don't want us to crash it? Too bad because, as the youngest son of a billionaire we have to be careful. Which means no solo excursions. So sad,” she said mockingly, stretching as she smirked at him.
“I am an adult, I will not be treated like a child,” he sneered back at her, but was stopped from leaving by Dick, who frowned at him disappointedly. “Grayson, move aside so that I may exit the hotel.”
“Steph's got a point, baby bird. We're in a different country and you have a pretty famous face. If you really can't wait until tomorrow to see her, I'll walk you over to the bakery myself, okay?”
“Tt, I suppose you are the least offensive of my options,” Damian admitted begrudgingly. He probably would have argued further but it would delay his reunion with Marinette so he let it slide.
By the time they reached the bakery, the evening had plunged into darkness. He knew that the Dupain-Chengs were staying open later in the days leading up to Christmas as it was one of their busiest times of year, so he merely entered and joined the queue of people.
“Hello, what can I get for you?” The woman, who had to be Marinette's mother, asked politely before looking up at him. But before he could respond, she gasped and a more genuine smile broke over her face. “Mon dieu, you are Damian, correct? Oh, Marinette is going to be beside herself when she finds out you have arrived early! Oh, but she's gone out this evening, I'm afraid!”
“I…had not anticipated her being busy,” Damian said, blushing lightly. He was even more embarrassed because Dick was still present, not wanting to leave until he was sure Damian was safely tucked away for the evening. “At what time are you expecting her return?”
“Oh, not until tomorrow at the earliest,” Sabine said, giving him an apologetic smile. “Her friend, Alya, insisted that they go to a party at a local under-eighteens club. It's very popular and goes quite late, so she planned to stay at Alya's place tonight.”
Damian thanked the woman for her time and ordered a dozen pastries at her recommendation. But he scowled the entire way back to the hotel and snarled at Steph when she made a cutting remark about being sent away so soon.
“His princess is in another castle, unfortunately,” Dick said sadly. He launched into a quick explanation of the situation and Damian did not like the look that passed between Steph and Jason.
“To the club!”
_ _ _
When Damian finally got past the ridiculous queue outside of the club he was assaulted by the noise and strobe lights. He could hardly step into the building for the writhing bodies, presumably dancing to said noise.
Given that Jason had forced his presence at the event, Damian allowed himself to be privately grateful that the large man helped to part the crowd. He scanned the outer edges of the room, looking for Marinette, but did not find her.
It was Steph who found her, dancing with one of her friends. Damian was frozen when he caught sight of her; her hair was pulled back in a high ponytail, the tip of which swayed hypnotically as she moved in time to the music. In the next moment he catalogued what she was wearing and felt heat blaze up his neck and across his face.
She was clearly dressed to move, a pair of simple black flats on her quick moving feet. His eyes swept slowly up from there, taking in her bare legs until the skirt of her dress obscured the view. The dress was both simple and flattering, a camisole bodice matched with a skirt that flared pleasingly. It was black but clearly had glitter imbued in the fabric somehow because it shimmered in the lights.
He could hear Jason and Steph laughing at him but he didn't care. She was a vision, and he had been fortunate that he had arrived early so that he could see her. When the song ended, she fanned her damp face and leaned in to tell her friend something, and then slipped away towards the bar.
People seemed to part for her, in spite of her slight build and Damian felt jealousy building at the heads that turned her way as she passed by. Squaring his shoulders, he began moving across the room, taking a more roundabout route so that she would not see him coming.
It took extra time, but he was gratified to see that she was facing away from him as he approached. His self congratulation was cut short when he saw a young man invading her personal space. He was leering down at her, and Damian held in a snarl as she folded her arms across herself in discomfort.
He didn't bother listening to whatever the cretin was saying, instead stalking up behind her and slamming a hand onto the bar and making them both jump. He snaked an arm around her waist and met the other man's glare with one of his own. He leaned in close to the intruder and growled in his Robin voice.
“That's mine,” he snarled, refusing to break eye contact until the man backed away and beat a hasty retreat. He watched to make sure he wouldn't have to deal with him again before turning his attention to the gorgeous creature in his arms.
“Damian?” She squealed, turning to look up at him but not breaking his hold on her. He was pleased when she threw her arms around his neck and let her pull him down into a kiss. It was shorter than he would have liked but she pulled away with a huge grin. “You're here early! Oh my god, you have no idea how happy I am to see you.”
“It pales in comparison to my own joy,” he assured her, speaking the words in her ear for only her. She giggled before kissing him again, fingers threading into his hair and angling his head to deepen it.
They probably would have remained like that indefinitely if his annoying siblings hadn't felt the need to interrupt. The kiss broke when Jason cuffed him on the shoulder hard enough to knock him sideways, making an obnoxious comment about public indecency.
After that, Marinette was swept up in hugs from the others and Damian had to bite back the disappointment that they were not alone. Before too long, they were approached by several other people of around his age, all of whom apparently knew Marinette.
“Shall we get out of here?” Marinette shouted up to him, a smile on her face and a literal bounce in her step. He nodded, smiling back at her, and followed her toward the exit. His hand was clasped in her smaller one and he felt like it was the only thing that really mattered.
Much to his annoyance, his family and a few others followed them out and began talking about getting something to eat. They ended up trekking to a 24-hour restaurant and getting two booth tables next to each other. Damian sat in a corner of a booth so that he was facing towards the other one, Marinette tucked into his side.
“I can't believe you got here early, you're so sneaky!” She giggled, playing with his hands. Had it been anyone else, he would have been annoyed by her constant movement and touching. But as it was Marinette he understood because he wanted to keep touching her to reassure himself that it was real. “How did you even find us?”
“Your mother let me know that you were out for the evening, but Todd and Brown are the ones who located the club she mentioned. I had hoped for a more private reunion, but it appears I was not destined to get my wishes.”
“Speaking of, it's nice to meet you, Mari’s boy,” the brunette with red hair tips and glasses said. “I'm Alya, this is Nino,” she jerked a thumb at the dark skinned boy sitting next to her, “Adrien,” the thumb moved to the blond sitting behind her, “that's Chloé,” she changed to a forefinger, pointing to the blonde seated next to the previous one, “and Kagami.”
The final girl with black hair cut in a severe bob dipped her chin at him before lacing her fingers with Chloé's.
“I am Damian, this is my eldest brother, Richard, Stephanie, a family acquaintance and that behemoth is Jason, though you may call him whatever you choose. The more derogatory, the better to be frank,” he said pointing at the three in turn.
“Call me Dick! It's so nice to meet you all,” Dick chirped excitedly, grinning at the young adults around him. They all smiled at him, those sitting with him offering their hands to shake.
“So, Damian, what are your intentions with our Marinette?” Alya asked abruptly, making said girl splutter and blush, though Jason howled and slammed a hand down on the table. He and Dick were taking up an entire side of the other booth and Damian shot them a glare.
“Was it ambiguous? I intend to date her,” he said flatly, ignoring Steph who cooed at them. Marinette shot him a pleased grin, however, so he relaxed slightly.
“Isn't that going to be kind of tricky, what with you living in America?” Alya shot back, eyes narrowing. “She deserves better than someone wishy washy, or someone who isn't serious about a relationship.”
“Alya,” Marinette hissed, dropping Damian's hand and leaning forward to glare at the young woman. “Please don't embarrass me and Damian in front of his family.”
“It's not embarrassing, Marinette,” Alya said sassily, rolling her eyes. “If he's serious about dating you, I'm sure he won't mind a few questions.”
Jason snorted and Dick smacked him, not wanting Damian's temper to explode. But Damian understood Alya's desire to only have the best for Marinette, and sought to soothe her concerns.
“I would not have come to Paris if I were not serious in my pursuit. Marinette is a wonder, and I do not intend for the distance to prevent my courting of her,” he stated, resting his hand on her hip and squeezing.
An awed silence followed this statement and it looked like Dick had to physically restrain Jason from applauding.
“Perhaps someone can explain to me why you look familiar, Damian,” Kagami said at last, turning in her seat to scrutinise him. “I feel as though we have been acquainted previously, but cannot place why.”
“Tt, it will be because we have competed in international tournaments prior to this,” Damian clipped out, eyes shifting away.
“Ah, of course, three years ago, number fourteen, Damian Wayne of Gotham. You were a worthy opponent and I would not mind testing my blade against you once more, but you have not participated in international competitions in some time.”
“Hold on, did you say Wayne, Gami?” Chloé tried to keep her voice level before turning in her seat to stare at Damian. “I don't know whether I should be offended that you're not using Le Grand Paris during your visit.”
“Oh, we are, we're just using Steph's name so that we can relax more,” Dick said cheerily. “We always do it when we're not traveling for business, it makes things a lot easier if the press doesn't catch wind.”
“Want to fill the rest of us in, Chlo?” Alya said drily, eyeing the visitors with interest. “I'm guessing you're famous in Gotham, but why would Chloé take it personally that you weren't staying at the hotel?”
Adrien gave Marinette an apologetic look before speaking. “Not just Gotham, Alya. You're looking at some of the children of Bruce Wayne, billionaire and co-CEO of Wayne Enterprises. Honestly, I should have recognised them too, Felix has had enough meetings with their other CEO that I should've recognised Dick at least.”
“You collected another rich kid, that's so funny, dudette,” Nino chortled, tapping his fingers on the table. “What is it about you that rich people find so fascinating, and can it be copied? I wouldn't mind being surrounded.”
“What, I'm not enough for you, bro?” Adrien said, sounding hurt.
“Dude, my guy, you are the best friend ever and I wouldn't trade you, but there's a difference between having one very good friend that has money and becoming family to a rockstar, the romantic interest of at least three nepo-babies and managing to find one of the meanest people in the world and turning him into putty,” Nino deadpanned, looking at Marinette with a mix of exasperation and fondness.
“Damian's not mean,” Marinette said immediately and with no small amount of hurt in her voice. Jason barked out a laugh and Marinette turned her disappointed eyes on him. “That's not very nice, Jason! Damian is wonderful, creative and thoughtful, and nothing you say will convince me otherwise.”
“Oh jeez, is this how you felt when I called you a ‘very good friend’, Mari? I'm so sorry,” Adrien said jokingly. “I thought we were besties, Nino? Do I really mean so little to you?”
“Why would he apologise for calling you a good friend?” Damian asked, eyes narrowing at the blond. Marinette slumped in her seat, face buried in her hands as Alya and Chloé began to giggle.
“It isn't important anymore,” she groaned, blushing to the roots of her hair. Damian raised an eyebrow at those around him, torn between pressing the matter to satisfy his curiosity and giving her the privacy she obviously wanted.
“He'll find out eventually, girl,” Alya said between giggles. When Marinette merely groaned again, she seemed to take that as permission to proceed. “I'm going to preface this by saying that they are, in fact, only good friends now, but Mari used to have a crazy crush on Adrien here. And Captain Oblivious here had no idea, went around telling everyone what amazing friends they were.”
“Ah, unrequited love,” Jason said dramatically. “The heart was made to be broken, as they say. I'd like to say you found a good one eventually, but since you're dating Demon Spawn…”
“Oh, it wasn't unrequited,” Chloé said airily. “Adrien was just dense in the extreme. You should have seen the party these idiots threw when they started dating. It was ridiculous.”
“Utterly ridiculous,” every other Parisian chorused before bursting out in laughter. The Gothamites merely looked at each other confused until Chloé stomped a foot and muttered darkly.
“Now that you've thoroughly embarrassed me and dragged out my dating history, can we move on?” Marinette complained, avoiding looking at Damian.
“Hun, we've barely touched on your twisted dating history,” Alya said, making the Gothamites look at her questioningly. “Luka Couffaine, anyone?”
“Why is that name familiar?” Steph asked, trading puzzled looks with Dick.
“He's an up and coming guitarist,” Marinette said, although she was blushing again. After a moment, Jason gasped and pointed at her accusingly.
“Luka Couffaine as in headlined with Jagged Stone earlier this year, Luka Couffaine? His son, Luka?” Jason was looking at her like she was insane. “You dated Jagged Stone's son, presumably dumped him, and he still treats you like a niece?”
“Why would Jagged treat her like a niece?” Adrien asked in bewilderment, and Marinette made a panicked face at Jason while making cutting motions across her neck. “She's not even all that close with Luka anymore.”
“Because she designs for him?” Dick said, completely oblivious to the very obvious ‘shut up’ cues Marinette was giving the group.
The group went silent for all of a minute before Adrien whispered, “Marinette Dupain-Cheng…MDC…” and the tables erupted in shouting and expletives. Chloé was the one who finally got them to shut up.
“Oh my god, I can't believe that our good friend Marinette, the fashion designer, who won a Gabriel competition, was offered an internship with my mother, and designed for Jagged Stone the first time she met him, turned out to be his secretive fashion designer. Using her own initials as a pseudonym. Truly, she is a master of stealth.
“Can we talk about the actual surprising revelation that Damian Wayne, Gotham's Ice Prince and the latest rich sap to fall to Marinette's charm, did a dance video to the goddamn bread song?” Chloé demanded.
“Wait, you've seen the video?” Dick asked in a wounded voice. “Lil D, Mari's friends have seen it, why won't you let us?”
“Sending the video to Marinette was an unavoidable risk and I had no control over who she showed it to,” Damian said severely. “The only outcome of you viewing the video is mockery and I will not subject myself to that needlessly.”
“Damian, the video is adorable, how could anyone mock you for it?” Marinette chided, intertwining her fingers with his. He harrumphed and lifted their hands to kiss the back of hers. “But as long as you don't want them to see it, they won't get it from me.”
Damian smiled at her and ignored his family's protests.

Wow, War Games sure does suck all the energy out of me.
It's not UNREADABLE. It just leaves me less excited about comics, and thinking thoughts like, "maybe I'll read the aftermath tomorrow ... or whenever."
-
Like, this crossover has SO MANY compelling and important plot beats for it's characters!
Tim's school is attacked, Darla dies, he goes back to being Robin with his dad's grudging blessing, and he loses his girlfriend.
Dick gets the prompt he needs to leave Catalina, after several days (at least) of dissociation and following her around in a daze. He gets his knee blown out. He decides to quit being a vigilante, or interacting with his family again.
Bruce loses Commissioner Gordon, and the trust of the city. He's part of the reason a teenage girl he was mentoring died. And he loses one of his oldest relationships - Leslie was a coworker and friend of his father that he's known his whole life.
(Steph, of course, is losing Robin, almost losing her life, and being forced to rebuild herself from scratch.)
And in Batgirl:
Cass KNOWS that something is going wrong with Steph, and is trying desperately to make sure her friend is okay while constantly being pressured to deal with the overwhelming violence. She's hurt and upset with both Babs and Bruce, and unaware that her entire life and support network is about to fall apart. She's about to lose her only friend, her mother figure, her home, and - shortly after - her entire city, for a while.
Babs is definitely the secondary lead on this book, and she's about to reach the culmination of 60 issues of comics - dissolving her relationship with her city and unofficial family.
-
All of this seems like really interesting, impactful stuff! And, in Batgirl, it's actually well written! But ... even though I want to know how exactly Babs chooses to leave after the Clocktower blows - even though I want to know what she says to Cass - how Cass reacts - I have almost no motivation to actually do the reading.
It's a weird crossover.
-
(I think this might be the moment that the Batcomics collapsed under the weight of their refusal to allow healing. Hmm ... @teland was correct to quit the comics here. It was the end, in many ways.)

Who are your top 10 misunderstood characters from Life is Strange and Telltale’s The Walking Dead and why?
Kate (LIS) - Kate isn't misunderstood the same way Rachel and Chloe are, but I do think she's often portrayed as much more feeble then she actually is. For example: Kate stands for herself plenty in game. If you tell her to wait for more proof, she'll send Max this text. "Max. Sorry to have bothered you by asking for your advice. I guess I shouldn't do anything but let people enjoy my video all over the world." She'll also bluntly confront Max if you don't intervene when David's in her face. Don't get me wrong, Kate IS an utter sweetheart, but she's not a doormat either. She has a bit of a bite on multiple occasions.
Max (LIS) - Max is similar to Kate for me. I think she's often portrayed as much more feebly then she is. Some people treat her like she's a ...well...doe but she has a very strong bite to her! I mean, she's back with Chloe for 48 hours at most and she pulls a gun on Frank and maybe pulls the trigger. Also, if you don't side with Chloe for a choice, Max is very sassy about Chloe's objections. Chloe will say something like: "If you only you told David it was your joint," and Max will go "Oh, sorry, I was to busy saving your life. 🙄" Max is a very strong character, so I'm shocked that a lot of people see her as being super delicate. She's the furthest thing from a doormat.
More Undercut
Rachel (LIS) - Rachel deserves better. I can't even really get into this fully on this post because I want to keep my reasons shortish (well...short for me) but for a very quick and not detailed recap of my thoughts. 1. We don't even know if she cheated on Chloe, so, no, she's not the devil for sleeping with Frank. 2. Rachel is manipulative to a certain degree, but there's no indicator that she was an evil serpent women who only spoke in lies and manipulation. 3. There's plenty of in game evidence that she cared about Chloe. We can argue all day about whether she was ever in love with Chloe or not, but there's more than enough to back up that she at least cared for her.
Chloe - I'm going to make short points with her like I did with Rachel because this another topic I could make a full rant about. 1. She is mean, but some people really exaggerate the extent of it. 2. She's not evil for being mad that her best friend who ghosted her figured out how to work a phone when Kate called. 3. She's not a bitch for not liking her Step Father who is abusive to her. 4. She's not terrible for having a tense relationship with her Mother, who made it very clear that David is more than important than her. 5. Women are allowed to be flawed.
Ryan (LIS TC) - I will defend Ryan until the day I die. I know it isn't his best moment if he doesn't believe Alex at the end...but of course he doesn't believe Alex in all the endings?? Jed is his FATHER. A father he's close with and has been told his entire life is a hero. Then Alex (rightfully) bursts in and pops his bubble, and in the moment, he doesn't handle that well unless there's a lot of confirmation that his loving father is actually a hidden monster. And yes, I know that Steph backs up Alex no matter what...but Jed isn't her Dad, and she isn't as connected to the town, or it's stories, as deeply as Ryan is. She loses way less if Alex is telling the truth, while Alex's (rightful) honesty destroys what's left of Ryan's family after he already lost his Mother.
Violet (TWDG) - I've always thought it was weird how upset people got when Vi betrayed Clem in the cells. First off...Clem betrayed her first?? Vi spent the entire game defending Clem when no one else would. When AJ killed Marlon she stood in front of them with a cleaver to protect them from the other kids. When everyone voted to kick Clem and AJ out, she was the one shouting from the rooftops that it was unfair. When Clem and AJ came back, she was the one who insured that they could stay. And yet, when Clem saw her in danger, she chose not to save her. It's not shocking that she feels so upset, but it did shock me how fans reacted to it, and I'm someone who saved and romanced Louis! I mean...how unfair is a betrayal really if they stab you with the same knife you stuck in their back?
Louis (TWDG) - It's crazy how much of Ryan's paragraph I could apply to Louis. Of course he gets mad when Clem's murder toddler, who has never been taught restraint, puts a bullet in his best friends head. Marlon had given up. The gun was no longer in his hands. Clem had it handled peacefully, and then the situation ended with a bullet. I totally understand why he was mad, and I even understand why he wanted them to leave and not come back. He was mourning, and his pain is made even worse if you had Clem appeal to him because he helped disarm Marlon and that led to his death. So, in other words, I think his rage in episode 2 is very understandable. Plus, he moves on from his anger and apologizes for kicking them out in...Episode 2. The same episode the anger starts.
Sarah (TWDG) - People complain about her being a burden so much, but honestly that's Carlos's fault. She never really got a chance to be a survivor in the apocalypse because she was sheltered non-stop, and there's multiple moments that imply that she could have made it if things were different. I don't FULLY blame Carlos for sheltering her since I understand wanting your child to grow up in peace instead of surrounded by horror...but he really screwed her over. I think people should be way harsher on him than her. Sarah was doing her best. Carlos was not.
Ben (TWDG) - In the same manner as Sarah, people often complain that he's a burden. And...he kinda is, but also he's also literally sixteen years old. He makes bad choices because he's naive, not because he's malicious. Also, I know he indirectly got Duck and Katjaa killed, but the bandits were threatening to kill EVERYONE in the group if he didn't slip medicine to them. What Ben did got Katjaa and Duck killed, but who's to say the bandits wouldn't have kept their word and killed the entire group if he had refused. He was put in a no win situation, and honestly I just so much pity for him. I'm glad my Lee looks out for him.
Jane (TWDG) - Jane is...weird because she is a bad person but also some people act like she never cared about Clem and had entirely selfish motivations. She cared about Clem enough to teach her how to survive, which is something she never bothered to do with Sarah, even though she needed a mentor much more than Clem. And for as much as I disagree with her of philosophy of "never trust anyone, people are bad," I do think she was genuinely trying to help and giving what she thought was good advice. She also comes back and saves the group during the shoot out for Clem's sake, which proves that her motivations aren't entirely selfish...just mostly.

Do you have any more headcanons/thoughts about your Steph and Max as half-siblings AU? :)
BRO IVE BEEN OK
ive been wanting to discuss this for so long but for ppl who want to know (mostly background)
-i think that max and steph share the same dad, he seems like the one to sleep around. however, he settled w steph's mother and a secretly pregnant max's mother ended up w his ass of a dad.
-for a while, maybe 13-14 years, they never knew about their relation to each other. however, max and steph definitely saw the other one in school. max was praised as a football prodigy and steph was infamous for being a slacking and skipping mayor's daughter.
-they look somewhat similar. from the nose, ears, eyes, hell even the hair? there are small differences here and there, but they were definitely called siblings by their classmates
-they were also quite good friends. apparently, once u find out both ur dads are assholes, u bond. max would invite her to all his football games and she somehowb goes. these two were best friends, practically inseparable.
-one day in 7th grade, solomon was complaining to ms tessburger abt his affair. steph was overhearing about how it's odd to see one of kids succeed at something, while the daughter he has is doing nothing of importance.
-like any teenage girl w a completely shitty relationship w her father, steph was enraged, and a bit jealous. finding out she was related to max unlocked a bit of a one-sided hating towards him
-max however, always knew that he had a sister. before his mom divorced, she told him stories abt his birth father, and how when she was with him, she had no idea solomon already had a girlfriend.
-she reached out to steph's mother and had informed her of what happened. however, since she couldn't get out of the marriage jst yet, her mother instead acknowledged and thanked max's mother.
-ofc, max's mom never told him who his sister was. knowing him and his father, she feared that sudden new relation between him and the mayor's daughter may get to his head. so, instead she jst told him that he had a sister in hatchetfield.
-from around mid 7th grade to early 8th grade, max noticed how whenever steph was forced into a group w him, she'd always looked pissed off. annoyed. generally angry.
-in the 8th grade during lunch, max came up to her table, asking "the hell is wrong w me??? we used to be close u fuckin', uh... DINGUS!" this offended the hell out of steph and she umped out of her seat and started to swing punches at max. as any middle school in america does, a bunch of students started recording and posting it.
-steph and max sat in the principal's office, both with a lot of bruises and some bloody hands and noses. as solomon lauter and jagerman's father walked in, both of them stared at each other. eventually, max's father got into a full blown yell w solomon.
-as the two kids watched their fathers yelled at one another, that was when steph turned to max and finally revealed why she was so distant. "apparently, ur my fucking brother or smth."
-max sighed, looking at steph w a disappointed glare. "im sorry for being.. ur brother, i guess?" he replied, the two laughing as he explained his side of the story, and further strained the relationship between steph and solomon
(alr onto actual headcanons)
-they do love joking abt being half-siblings around their friends. despite it being true, theyre all so confused on if either max or steph is lying or not.
-the first person for max who found out that his sister was steph was kyle. he couldn't rlly believe it, but he jst kinda vibed. so max telling him went rlly chill.
-on steph's side however, when pete found out she had max jagerman as a brother, she was immediately bombarded with questions and pleas from pete. she tried offering these ideas to max, but he dismissed them, telling her "i need to remain on top, steph!" secretly, he does go easier on the nerds. by a little bit.
-max and steph spend the most time together outside of home, more at school or wherever. whether its going bowling w max's teammates at some bowling lanes, or hanging out in the lakeside mall jst the two of them.
-neither of them ever had a proper enough relationship w their family, so spending time w each other relived them of that disappointing truth a little bit.
-one time, max got so pissed at steph he threw a football at her from like, 40 yards away in order to get her attention. unfortunately, steph being preoccupied on her phone did not notice the absolute perfect throw coming right into her head.
-safe to say, he apologized and ran to her, trying his best to relieve her of a bruise.
-because of this incident, steph had wanted to begin learning how to play football. max was her teacher, and he sucked at it. like, explaining anything to her was alien to steph. however, over time, she slowly got the hang of it, and was good to a point when max stopped teaching her
-sometimes after a nighthawk game, if u stay jst long enough, u can see steph and max throw a football at each other from pretty far. and if ur lucky, seeing steph trying to tackle max. but most of the time, that mostly leads to the funniest image of steph falling ever.
i have a lot more, but my ask IS open yall lmaoooo

hc + 💕 for a loved-themed headcanon, hc + 😴 for a sleep-themed headcanon, hc + 🏠 for a home-themed headcanon, hc + 😡 for a headcanon about something that makes them angry
hc + 💕 for a loved-themed headcanon there is something that is completely and utterly heartbreaking about stephanie lauter but something that is deeply important to me and that is the lack of love - ANY TYPE OF LOVE from familial love ( of course her mother loved her very much but that was so long ago she does not remember it at all ) to love between friends ( she has 'friends' but after seeing how the nerds interact she's not sure that they are proper friends ) to love with a partner. steph has done various type of romantic relationships and has liked some of the people but never really felt love. it's one of the many reasons that she is trying to deny that she's in love with pete so abruptly and so fast despite making moves. it scares her a little bit, how quickly she falls and she worries he might not feel the same or she's in too deep but she cannot lie to herself for too long. it's sort of a similar thing with making friends or finding family- she worries about being overbearing or something similar. she does not know how to deal with love. and does not expect to be loved.
hc + 😴 for a sleep-themed headcanon this is something i have mentioned in passing, in replies and such but steph has the hardest goddamn time sleeping ( made worse by you know. Trauma in some verses but you know when in hatchetfield ). save for those timelines in which she goes through it ( any iteration of nerdy prudes, fantasy, mildly in abstinence camp oddly, and more ) it has nothing to do with nightmares and is in part something to do with a bad schedule--- coming home from the day and not starting homework till ten or eleven at the earliest. on nights when she actually does homework at a proper time and she actually gets into her bed, she cannot shut her brain up and stop herself from thinking till the am hours aka- steph has really bad insomnia and sleeps a lot better with someone else in her bed Thank you.
hc + 🏠 for a home-themed headcanon you know that stupid cheesy saying that is like home is where the heart is? it really isn't something steph can understand for the longest time. the lauter home has not been a home for a LONG time--- the pantries are empty, the house is big and feels echo-y and the decor feels false, it's not a home. she doesn't feel at home there. she finds home in people until she moves out--- but that is not until she makes and finds actual connections. when she goes to other people's homes, she finds herself complimenting it a lot ( usually just commenting how nice or homey it is because she can't find other words ) but likes how alive it looks. like it's lived in, like it's more than just show.
hc + 😡 for a headcanon about something that makes them angry people controlling other people in any sort of way is something that pisses steph off to no end. we know this. she's got a problem with authority and as of such has an issue with both school faculty and one max and his stupid fucking god complex. some of this does stem from her dad and the pressure she has been under, but she also is a firm believer that no one has the right to be so controlling of another person.

I think I will bring Oracle!Babs back, Steph angst, her relationship with crime, her mother and father, and how her past will forever change her way of looking at the world.
MORE DUKE!!! I would either make him appear in a bunch of random comics (bc I think it'll be hilarious for him to just be everywhere without an explanation) and I would give him his own solo.
I would bring back Danny Chase, and I would make him annoy Jason, because I think it'll be funny.
RAVENS OLD HAIRCUT BC I LOVED IT WITH MY WHOLE SOUL AND I HATE THE NEW ONE (IM SORRY).
Maybe not exactly good, but trying all she can Talia, I want to explore her change and the way that her morals were twisted and why (racism) and how at the end of the day she'll always be a loving person who loves equally humans and animals the same and the way that her family always comes first but it's a problem when her family is tearing each other into pieces, I want to explore her character outside of Damian and Bruce because her character is amazing even without them.
Also she should be a doctor, like, it should start with her being infiltrated for some reason and then ending with her working on there permanently.
AL GHUL FAMILY, THEIR BELIEFS AND MYTHS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH MAGIC.
Roy and Wally friendship
Roy and Dick friendship
Roy and Donna friendship
Roy and Kory FRIENDship
I would also enjoy writing about Damian, Jon, Maya and Suren's friendship, I want them to be a hero/vigilante team again, I'm pretty sure that Jon and Maya are closer in age rn so I would take advantage of that to make them really close (wlw & mlm solidarity if ykwim).
I would also make Mara part of the team, and to have her and Damian fighting all the time (affectionate) and also to talk about how actually complicated their relationship can be because even though Damian escaped a toxic and abusive environment he left to a new kind of toxic family (love the batfam but y'all need to understand they're toxic and bad to each other a lot of the times they're together) I want them to realize that they both need to heal and that it's going to be terrible and tiring and hard but they can (maybe) end the cycle, I would also love to talk about how what motivates Damian is love and not anger and how not even him knows that.
Maya angst but more in a comic type of way, like, her suit having a dysfunction, or someone wanting to kill her because of something her father did, or the way that she sometimes acts like if she had a normal childhood, I want her to realize that it's okay to be hurt by the past and for her to understand that her pain is important and that she can be weak, also for her to be that Dad friend (trying her best but low-key making everything worse ending with her feeling guilty and useless).
For Jon I think I would make him learn to fight without his powers bc like, he'll be the only one in the group that isn't (wasn't) an assassin so you can't tell me they wouldn't teach him to fight, and to use a sword, and a gun too probably, and to pick a lock and steal a car, I haven't been reading his issues lately so I'm not sure if he managed to be back to school, but if he isn't back to school I would bring him back to school and I would make him and Maya to be classmates, I would also explore the way that being surrounded by really traumatized people can make him think his trauma is nothing and I would make him understand that even though he is Superman he's still a human, a teenager human, and he deserves to be hurt, and to be dumb, and make bad decisions without it ending in the end of the world of something.
For Suren I would make him loose control over his magic in some way, like, maybe I would make him have his magic corrupted, also the whole concept of being a prophet and it corrupting the person is really interesting to me so I would make it part of his character, I would make Raven be his mentor to acknowledge the fact that Raven (mostly) knows how to control her power. I also think they would have a really cool type of relationship and more Titans deserve to me mentors.
And about mentors, a little list of the team and who should be their mentors:
Mara - Kory (how to learn to be human without forgetting where you come from, learning to forgive but not forget)
Maya - Steph (coming to terms with the fact that you're hurt and that your parents affect who you are but the decision of who you become is yours)
Suren - Raven (accepting that there are ugly parts of us that we can't control but we can accept them and make them better and we can make something beautiful out of something horrible)
Jon - Donna, Kory, Dick (understanding your pain, learning that you don't need to be completely human to have humanity in yourself, and learning that regardless of how powerful you are you always need help)
Damian - Talia, Dick (coming to terms with the fact that he's s victim, accepting that Bruce has hurt him and even if he didn't mean it it's not okay and Damian can feel hurt even when it's only about his feelings)
Also I don't think they would call themselves Little League or Tiny Titans, they're teenagers, emo/punk/Gothic teenagers, they'll probably name themselves something like Hunters, Crows or some edgy shit.
Also their missions should be super weird and stupid, like, it they loose this chess match the whole world will end, they have to deliver McDonald's to Buddha, they have to do a quest for different gods except the quests are really weird and dumb.
ALSO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE AN ACTUAL LIDER!!! All of them are bad at being the lider so they just take turns depending on who knows more of the villain.
They would have a band too.
I would bring Mar'i to the main continuity but not in the "Kory gets pregnant" way but more in the "a crazy woman made a clone using Dick's and Kory's DNA and now they have a children who neither of them know what to do with" type of way.
KORY AND DONNA ADVENTURES OF PROTECTING NY
Dick and his relationship with his ethnicity (I think that's what is called? I may be wrong though), the gilt of not being white enough but also not being Romani enough, him learning more about his own culture, etc.
DICK, KORY AND DONNA BEING MORE THAN SUNSHINE CHARACTERS, THEY'RE TRAUMATIZED, THEY HAVE PTSD
Roy being more than a support character and him being smart and capable of doing what he needs to do, he's not stupid y'all.
The original Titans and their trauma and PTSD of being crime vigilantes at 14 or something, like, grown ass adults were beating them, that's a little traumatic yk.
Roy mentioning his family casually.
Also Tim should move on from Robin, he deserves to grow up and Damian deserves to be the current Robin
I KNOW MOST OF THIS ARE REALLY BAD 😞💔 I just think these concepts are really interesting, however thankfully it'll never be canon bc I actually hate to write so 🥳
Also it's late to me so if this is badly writing let's say it's because of that 😋
This poses a common but never dull question... Tell me what the first thing YOU would do if you became a writer at DC with no editorial backlash? What would you make canon? What story would you write? What would you retcon?

THIS IS NOT FACT CHECKED AT ALL. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. THIS WAS DONE ON VERY LIMITED RESEARCH AT 3 AM
Damian Wayne HeadCanon-
Damian went through a HUGE culture shock when he moved through the states. Even though he lived with the greatest detectives on earth, not one even thought of explaining ANYTHING to him.
For example, a lot of Arabs don’t celebrate birthdays. Most don’t even remember the exact date they were born (especially if they are older) with Ra’s being like 500 years old. This mofo probably didn’t even know what a Birthday is. He most than likely can not tell you the day he was born. But here in America, We celebrate birthdays so when everyone would be talking about a so called “Birthday Party” he would just call it useless. They just brushed it off as the league training. Dick Grayson being himself would try to pry out when Damians Birthday is and Damian would just shrug. The conversation usually went like this...
“don’t shrug your shoulders at me! I just want to know when my little Baby Brothers birthday is so I can give him a gift!” “Grayson, No, Go Away”
This lead to a lot of problems especially in the future when Damian would just shrug to anyone asking his birthday. Bruce, trying to get custody papers settled, was pissed off when Damian wouldn’t say his birthday. Damian sat there confused like you guys remember it.
The person who figured out that Damian didn’t know his birth date was surprisingly Steph who out of the whole Family wasn’t famously known for outsmarting the bat like Tim Drake.
She took Damian out for Waffles. She decided if she could guess his birthday it would make it easier.
She just asked just generally “is it before or one of ours like month wise not year obviously”
(We are gonna say Tim was born in December)
“Around Drakes”
“REALLY! dEcEmBeR bAbY! After before.”
“I’m not quite sure”
“Well, Timmys is the 14th sooooo before or after.”
“You imbecile I know drakes birth date”
“Just answerrrrr”
“I’m not sure”
Steph is not as blonde as she looks. She finally realized
“You don’t know the date you were born.”
“It is not important brown. Back in the Middle East most didn’t celebrate their birth along with my affiliation with the league. It was never mentioned.”
Steph realizing it was a culture difference. Explained the American custom.
“oh how fucking confused were you” steph laughs
“Brown, We live in a manor filled with detectives and not one of those dumb mother fuckers could THINK to tell me it was an American tradition.”
BOOM -> cultural shock
Or something common is small talk isn really done in a lot of countrie around the world but it sure is in america
Informality is something americans have while other countries wouldnt dare. For Damian, perfect example
The amount of different languages utlized in Americ although not an issue could be really surprising.
The fucking Climate is a great one too. Its hot ass hell in arabic countries and you move from hot as balls to freeze your tits off. Its just gonna be. Shock.

Code: Mom
AN: This request has been sitting in my inbox for over a year. Sorry about that. It ended up being mainly fluff. Hope you enjoy it.
Prompt: Bruce wayne x reader? Please! Batmom going up to the watchtower dragging batman down to the manor so he can eat and pass time with the family :] some sassy/sarcastic comment along the way and the justice league. And fluff:) hope it makes sense :p and I love your writing!
Tumblr media
The dinner table is quiet. All of your children are focused on their food, scarfing it down as quickly as possible. Dishes are passed without anyone even asking. The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The league was working on some big case. You knew the basics, nothing more. If you knew too many specifics your anxiety would flair up. You knew your limitations. Your children and husband, however, did not. A fact that was driven home by your husband’s empty seat at the dinner table.
You weren’t even half way done when your children finished scarfing their food down. They all looked at you expectedly. They wanted you to okay them leaving the table to go back to work. You chewed a bit of food as you examined them. They all had dark circles under their eyes, Tim was nearly falling asleep in his seat, Dick was anxious and fidgety, Damian was staring straight ahead, Steph was staring at the ceiling, Jason was sitting with his eyes closed, and Cass was watching you.
You set your fork down and stand up, they all follow suit. They’re all ready to race back to the cave and to their posts. You simply smile and say, “Code mom.”
They all freeze. You hadn’t called a code mom in years. The last time had been when the Joker was terrorizing the city. They had all worked themselves to exhaustion and you had forced them to take eight hours off to sleep.
The protests start in the next second. You lift your fingers to your lips and let out a sharp whistle. You know what they do is important. They push the boundaries every single day with little thought to themselves. You however, are always thinking about them; you’re their mother. “You know the deal. You all promised to never put me through it again.”
They go silent at that. Technically it had happened when Jason was robin. Most of your kids hadn’t come into your life yet, but they all knew the story. It had been years ago, when the world had been invaded. You’d been forced to watch meager television coverage, and scan the computers in the cave for more information. You haven't heard from your husband or children in nearly two weeks. You had been an absolute mess with the rumors of their deaths one minute and them fighting the next. You’d had several anxiety attacks in those weeks.
When your family had finally made it home, they had broken bones, cuts, and bruises, you wouldn’t let them out of your sight. Bruce had had to work from home, and only patrolled two or three times a week, and the kids hadn’t been allowed on patrol for nearly two months. The lack of information had shaken you to your core. That was when Bruce had developed code mom.
You had the ability to call a code mom in times of extreme stress, when you saw things heading downhill for either yourself or your family. It was a required twenty four hours of rest and family time to make sure they were in top shape to do what they needed to do. And right now, a code mom was needed.
You look at your kids, “Warm showers all around, and then bed. At least eight hours.” You turn to Alfred, “I’m going to go get my husband.”
He smiles and you head to the cave. You don a mask, and teleport up to the station. No one bats an eye at your presence; they’re all too busy running around dealing with whatever is going on. You slide by groups of heroes in the hallway, and make your way to Bruce’s area.
He commands several groups, and you watch him for several minutes. His voice is hoarse, there’s tension in his shoulders, and he’s even stumbling just slightly. He’s exhausted, and you would bet he hasn’t eaten anything decent all day.
You wait for him to notice you, and when he does he stops. So do all the others. He knows you hate the station, mainly because the teleporter. Combine that with the fact that you hate to involve yourself in the superhero aspect of his life, he knows you’ve reached your tipping point. “It looks like things are finally under control.”
“Barely.”
You cross your arms and he drags a hand over his face, “Code mom?”
You smile and nod, “Code mom.”
“Lantern you’re in charge. I need some rest.”
With that the two of you are on your way out. When you make it back to the cave he
leans against you. You help him change out of the suit, get him in a shower because he stinks, and then get him dressed in a tee shirt, lounge pants and slippers. You get him to eat a few bites of dinner, before you get him in bed. He’s asleep within minutes.
You kiss his cheek before you go to check on the kids. Steph is fast asleep, her eye mask firmly in place. Cass is curled up in a ball in the middle of her bed, surrounded by fluffy blankets. Dick, and Jason are in the same room. Dick is in his bed while Jason is curled up on a pallet on the floor. You have a feeling the younger brother snuck in when the older was already asleep. You find Tim asleep in his big lounge chair. He has a close laptop in his lap, which you take and set on the bed, before covering him in blankets. Damian is asleep with Titus  laying across his feet, Alfred the cat curled up by his head, and at least a half a dozen stuffed animals.
You check on ALfred last. He’s still up; enjoying a cup of tea and his newspaper. He simply smiles at you before you head back to your room. You climb into bed and have just settled in when Bruce reaches out and drags you into his side. He cuddles you close, presses a kiss to your temple, and the two of you fall fast asleep and let go of your worries and fears until tomorrow.

@melonishus Ask and ye shall receive
Friendly reminder to everyone, these are just my for fun takes and my Batfam knowledge is imperfect. Anyone could become Batman, but I’ve thought about this too much and wish to share with the class
To start off, we need to define what traits a Batman successor must have, which I’ve narrowed down to four key points
1. Must be human
2. Must follow the no kill code
3. Must be Gotham born and raised
4. Must loose their parents to a Gotham tragedy
Any potential successor must meet these requirements. I will be focusing on Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass, Steph, Damian, and Duke cause they’re the ones I feel I can argue about best. Feel free to let me know if another extended Batfam member fits these traits better
To start off with Point 1, any successor must be human because that’s one of Batman’s core selling points. He’s the pinnacle of human ability, and any successor must fit within that bracket as well
This, sadly, eliminates Duke. All though he will fit many of the other criteria, he is not able to meet this crucial one
This doesn’t impact the rest of the Batfam, except for maybe Jason who gets a dishonorable mention for his magic swords
Onto Point 2: the no kill code. This essay is not about if the no kill code is good or not, just that it’s a key part of what makes a Batman, Batman. My focus is also not on if a character has killed ever, just on if they’d honor the code while acting as Batman.
Although there may be some specific circumstance where Jason could change his views enough to honor Bruce’s legacy and not kill while acting as Batman, it’s unlikely that he (or the writers) would change so much in the main continuity. So sadly, Jason is removed from the running
Onto Point 3: Gotham Born and raised. Batman is, first and foremost, Gotham’s protector. Batman may go out to save the world or the multiverse, but he’s doing it because Gotham is apart of the wider world. And at the end of the day, he’ll slip away from the JL and run back to his home in Gotham. Additionally, this is necessary because, as her protector, any Batman’s most impactful stories should take place within Gotham. More often than not characters born out of Gotham get dragged back outta Gotham for their most emotionally impactful stories, which a Batman (Gotham’s protector) should not have happen to them.
This requirement knocks out many of our strongest contenders for the mantle, namely: Dick, Cass, and Damian
Although Dick has taken up the cowl before it sucked for him, which I would argue is because he was only Gotham raised not Gotham born. Born with the circus, Dick’s ‘home’ is with the people he loves (first Bruce, then Titans, then Batfam probably), which he did not have the ability to be as close with while acting as Batman. He suffered as Batman because he was not refueled emotional by protecting Gotham, while Bruce did not suffer the same because he was able to protect his ‘home’ as Batman. Additionally when not acting as Batman, Dick’s reaction to ‘emotionally impactful story event’ is to LEAVE GOTHAM, which is not a trait that someone who is acting as Batman should have. Dick suffers as Batman’s forced successor because he was not born with the love for Gotham that any Gothamite successor would have. And is eliminated for his own mental health as such
Cass is also eliminated because she was born and raised outside of Gotham. When looking at her stories, we see prime examples of her most emotionally impactful stories being outside of Gotham; her time in Hong Kong and her fight with her mother as two examples I know. Although Cass wants so desperately to become Batman, the meta forces surrounding her and her origins prevent her from becoming a true successor to Batman, and as such she is eliminated from the running
Damian suffers similarly. Damian was born and raised with the league in whichever league important locations you choose (not Gotham, Talia forbids it). Although he wants the mantle so desperately, and so many writers want to give it to him, his stories showcase why his birth uniquely disqualifies him, rather than uniquely qualifying him, from becoming Batman. Most of Damian’s personal development stories take him outside of Gotham (I’m thinking of Lazarus Island and his pit stop at the League headquarters in Juni Ba’s Boy Wonder right now but I’m certain there’s more). Additionally, when writers show Damian in the future, they usually show him as a Batman working with the Justice League/other heroes or a Batman solving a global or larger crisis, aka not a Batman whose primary goal is protecting Gotham. Damian can’t become a Batman like his father because he cares too much about the problems of the whole dang world (and will be dragged beyond Gotham for his most emotionally important stories). His birth and childhood, similarly to Cass, eliminates him from the competition to become Batman successor
Onto the final deciding factor, Point 4: Loosing your parents in a Gotham based tragedy. Bruce Wayne became Batman because he saw his parents, Martha and Thomas, murdered in crime alley, in Gotham. His primary motivation became fighting Gotham crime. Any potential Batman successor needs to experience this origin if they are going to become a true successor to Batman and his mission.
The only characters who have passed this metric are Dick (Gotham mob violence + being Batman), Jason (Gotham gangs + Gotham crime/drug trafficking + ties to rogues/heroes + Batmaning [so many parents oh my]) and Duke (joker comas + ignoring light god sperm donor)
In contrast to the characters who pass this metric, are the characters who fail it, namely: Cass and Damian.
Cass refuses to let her parents die, given they only want to be killed by her. Even so, it is highly unlikely that they will die of a tragedy in Gotham given they are both internationally renowned assassins.
Although Damien could also, and (sometimes) has also, lost Bruce to Gotham tragedy, it is highly unlikely that he will lose Talia in the same way. Even if Batman or Bruce dies, Damien can’t immediately take up his legacy unless he loses his mother to the crime of Gotham, which, again, is highly unlikely given she’s an internationally renowned assassin.
After our badass living assassin parents, we enter into the more nebulous zone featuring Tim and Steph.
Tim has gotten himself into a really strange situation. Although he meets basically every other requirement, the deaths of his parents have ruined his chances of becoming Batman, even as they were designed to bring him closer to the Batfam. Janet died internationally and to a non-Gotham based villain. Similarly, Jack died to a flash villain in Keystone. Although Tim could still lose Bruce to a Gotham tragedy the deaths of his other parents to super villains beyond Gotham outweighs Bruce’s potential Gotham based demise (2/3 out of Gotham), preventing Tim from becoming a true Batman successor. Tim could still become a great hero and the deaths of his parents do prime him for heroics outside of Gotham, but he’s left in a nebulous position where his birth ties him to Gotham, while the death of his family ties him to the the pursuit of justice and heroics beyond his home city. (No wonder Tim struggles with his identity! His origins are a mess!) Although the deaths of his parents were designed to make Tim more of a parallel to Bruce as Batman, they have indirectly lead to his elimination from the fight for the Batmantle.
This leaves us with one Stephanie Brown. Unlike basically most of the other kids in this contest, it does not matter what happens to Bruce because Bruce is not Stephanie‘s dad. So let’s turn to Steph’s actual parents. Although her father is still alive, she has basically lost contact with him because he became a Gotham villain, which I would count as a Gotham tragedy (a la Joker Martha in alt universes). But Steph is not currently able to become Batman either because her mother, one Crystal Brown, remains relatively unaffected by the tragedies that plague Gotham city.
So if we tally up, who is still in the running for successor to the Batman mantle, will find at the answer is nobody, with a very dishonorable mention to Jason, but he probably wouldn’t want to become Batman if he had to follow these criteria.
HOWEVER! If we look back at Stephanie Brown’s parental situation, you’ll see that Crystal Brown remains untragedied in Gotham, leaving the door open for Steph to loose her final parent to a Gotham based tragedy and for Stephanie to be the only Batkid to meet the necessary criteria to become a true successor to Batman.
So in conclusion, if you really want for any of the Batkids to become a successor to Batman, Stephanie Brown is the only one who could. She’s a human born and raised in Gotham who tries her best not to kill in costume, avoiding any directly eliminating factors in the succession crisis. All that needs to happen for Steph to get a 4/4 score in Batman origins is for Crystal Brown to die (or become incapacitated or a villain) in a Gotham based tragedy, fundamentally changing Stephanie’s character and giving her a new cursed drive to become the next Batman.
I don’t know much about Batman, but from what I remember , there’s been a bit of thing about “Who will take up the mantle next” that seems to bounce around between the robins and I think Cassandra once
And if Bruce or his writers got the stick out of his ass, they’d realize he has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever
Name Stephanie Brown as his successor

Phantom Children Ch. 8
What's this? An update! Massive thanks to my betas for helping me get through this chapter <3
In Which: A few answers are given to the family and Danny is rudely awoken
[Side note: If you wanna know the general ages of the batfam, its listed in the AO3 version. I also talk about katanas in the end notes ^-^]
AO3 | Prologue | 7 | [ 8 ] | 9 DAMIAN INFORMED TODD—and Drake when he arrived on his bike sometime later on—that the boy whose face is plastered across the monitor was neither a picture of himself nor of Father.
Drake took one glance at the monitor and sighed, pressing his fingers against the bridge of his nose. “Just when I thought this day was getting better.”
“What, did that café on 5th finally let customers supersize their drink?”
“God that would be the dream, wouldn’t it?” Drake sighed wistfully. “Nah, but I did get a lead on where some of that stolen Cadmus tech might’ve ended up. I was gonna spend the night following up on it, but I guess we have to deal with,” he gestured to the monitor, “whatever this is.”
Todd leaned against the edge of the computer, arms crossed over the red bat insignia on his chest. “What are we dealing with this time, brat? A clone? An alternate universe counterpart? Magic shenanigans?”
Maybe. Perhaps. All of those were perfectly valid conclusions for the enigma that was Daniel James Fenton. (Why Fenton and not al Ghul? Or even Wayne?)
Damian, too, was a genetic experiment; a ‘test tube baby’ as Drake put it at times. Damian was born for greatness, created to be perfect. The perfect soldier. The perfect assassin. The perfect heir. Was this boy—Daniel—like him as well?
A failed one, then. Perhaps the precursor to Damian’s own existence. But that would not explain why the boy was allowed to exist for so long. His grandfather demanded perfection, especially from those of his own blood. If the boy was a failure, he would have been eliminated immediately, not sent to live with some eccentric scientists in the Midwest.
Damian was not naïve enough to think that his mother and grandfather did not keep secrets from him. On the contrary, he expected it. The League of Shadows dealt in secrets as often as it did in death. Certain information was worth its weight in gold, whether it was given or buried away.
But he could not help the sharp pang in his chest. A lightning strike, quick and electrifying at the notion that they kept secrets about their family from him.
His father’s face flashed in his mind. The shock turned into a slow, dawning horror. That flicker of light, of recognition, as he scrutinized the contents of the flash drive and cross-referenced it with a public database.
And grief.
Damian recognized the grief.
Alfred, too, nearly dropped his tray of fresh-baked cookies when he stepped in front of the monitor. His usual unflappable demeanor was momentarily broken at his father’s whispered “Sixteen years. Alfred— he’s sixteen years old.”
His father knew of the boy. He was allowed to know of Daniel when he was not allowed to know about Damian.
------
Grayson returned to the cave with a distinct lack of energy in his step. His mask dangled off the tips of his fingers, chin angled downwards and covered largely by his hand. For a split second, their eyes met. Grayson shifted his gaze away, scratching the back of his neck. Father told him, then. Damian wondered how much Father revealed to his favorite son.
Damian clucked his tongue and buried himself deeper into the chair, arms crossed and pointedly looking away. If it was not for his accursed ankle, he’d have headed out to the training ring to take his frustrations out on the dummies.
“Oh, thank god you’re here, Dickface. Damian’s completely out of it.”
Damian shot him a look. “Shut up, Todd.”
“Leave him alone, Jay. Is Tim back yet?”
Drake emerged from the changing room in a dark green shirt, a fresh cup of coffee in hand. He took one long sip before exhaling. “Yeah, I’m here.”
“O-kay…” He pressed his hands together, mouth thinned into a grim line. “Uh, hey Tim, glad to see you back safe. Bruce is coming down soon to explain some things.” He let out a deep sigh, carding a hand through his hair. “This kind of thing would probably be better with the girls around, but I—god, I don’t know.”
Todd raised an eyebrow. “Don’t know whether to call Steph and Cass in Hong Kong, or don’t know what’s going on?”
“Yes.”
------
When Father arrived, Pennyworth following dutifully behind him, it was with an aching slowness in his gait. His steps measured and precise, preternaturally quiet as he made his way to stand by Damian’s chair. Damian sat up straighter, shoulders squared and back an inch away from the backrest. The rest, even Todd, stood at attention; an ingrained habit among Robins and an amusing instinct even among the senior heroes of the Justice League when it came to facing the Batman.
His father kept a steady hand on Damian’s shoulder, and Damian, shamefully, leaned into the touch; his head inclined towards his father’s hand so much so that he could feel the ends of his hair being pushed up slightly as he brushed against his father’s forearm.
He spoke with his usual monotone, as if he was heading a Justice League meeting as opposed to unveiling the secrets surrounding that boy. He brought forward the few photos they obtained from the flash drive. “A few weeks ago, we were alerted of suspicious movement from the League of Shadows in Amity Park, Illinois. Their objectives are, as of now, unclear, though it appears to be tied to the death of Amity Park resident, Daniel Fenton.”
One photo was a standard ID picture people get for their driver’s license, the lighting deliberately horrible so that any attempt to look decent would always end in failure. Another photo was a little better; a candid scene of him chatting with two others his age, a Caucasian girl in gothic-style clothes and an African-American holding a sleek, but still very outdated PDA. His blue eyes crinkled at the corners, hand reaching up to his face to stifle a laugh. There were other photos like this, some candid, others posed. At the forefront of each, a boy that looked too much like his father, too much like Damian.
His father glanced at the photos. He shut his eyes and when he opened them again, he fixed them on some distant stalactite in the Cave. “Around six months ago, Daniel was pronounced dead in a vehicular accident. A body was present, but according to police reports, he was identified via his driver’s license as opposed to any kind of DNA profiling.” He leaned over Damian’s chair to pull up a profile of Masters. “Our source—Vladimir Masters, mayor of Amity and a friend of the Fenton family—indicated his belief that Daniel is actually alive. I am inclined to agree.”
“He’s your son, isn’t he,” Drake said, more of a statement than a question.
Father gave a curt nod. “I cannot say for certain until I can perform a DNA test, but I highly suspect that to be the case.”
“First the demon spawn, now this. Great.” Todd made a hand motion towards the screen. “You know, Bruce, not knowing you have a kid once might be a coincidence, but twice? How do you do that?”
“As of three hours ago, I was still under the impression that my son never made it to term.”
“What?”
“Over sixteen years ago I was involved in a mission that put Ra’s and I on the same side. During that time, Talia and I entered a relationship that resulted in a pregnancy. Though initially ecstatic, she eventually led me to believe she miscarried the child and pushed me away. For what ends, I do not know, but trust me Jason, if I knew—” He paused, the hand that was not on Damian’s shoulder curled into a tight fist.
Father pinched the bridge of his nose. “Why she hid it from me then doesn’t matter. Why Talia wants him back now is important. Judging from Daniel’s records, he was adopted into the Fenton family as an infant and has since lived a seemingly normal life as a civilian. His adoptive parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton, are brilliant scientists and engineers focused on the field of paranormal studies. Eccentricities aside, they have zero connections to the League of Assassins or any other concerning parties.”
“So why now?” Dick asked, shifting his concerned gaze from Bruce to the static picture of Danny’s tired smile. “Why, after all this time, decide that now would be the best time to recover him?”
------
Danny’s experienced plenty of rude awakenings before, but waking up at the ass-crack of dawn to avoid his kidnapper-slash-assassin-slash-biological-mom launching a surprise attack takes the fucking cake. He can’t believe he’s saying this, but thank god for all those late night ghost attacks that conditioned him to be a light sleeper. And, of course, the League’s insistence that everyone be in optimal condition regardless of how little sleep you actually got.
Danny kicked Talia off of him, ripping his blanket away before scrambling to his feet. Seriously, if the universe decided to spontaneously give him powers again, he’d really like an upgrade to his ghost senses, please and thank you. Something that works on humans and not just ghosts. Like spidey-senses. He’d really, really like some spidey-senses.
“Your reaction times have improved considerably,” Talia said.
He eyed the katana sheathed beside his bedroll. “Thanks. Who could have guessed that constantly challenging someone to a spar in the unholy hours of morning would make them paranoid to sleep too much? Really, how am I supposed to grow taller at this rate? ” If he could just get it--
She smiled, taking a step forward. “Prepare yourself.”
“Heh.” Danny stepped further away from Talia, keeping his back to the mouth of the cave. One hand stretched in front of him and the other, coated in a green light, was kept hidden behind his back. “Am I actually gonna get some answers today?”
“Let us make it interesting. Last 10 minutes against me and I shall tell you more about your brother.” Talia twirled her blade. “If you happen to draw blood, you may ask any one thing of me.”
“Anything?”
“Within reason.”
His face caught between a grimace and a smile. He’d rather be sleeping right now, but if he had to be awake, then he’d better make the most of it. “Deal.”
Talia’s smile dropped. She veered her body to the right, barely dodging the streak of bright green that whizzed from behind her. The ectoplasmic energy that surrounded the katana bled away as the handle connected with Danny’s outstretched hand.
She quickly glanced back at Danny’s bedding. Beside it lay an empty sheath. “You have telekinesis?”
He shrugged. “It comes and goes.” Yeah, no way was Danny gonna admit that seven-out-of-ten-times he forgot that he had telekinesis. Besides, that shit was hard to do when he wasn’t Phantom.
“A surprise attack from behind is a sound strategy, Daniel. Though it’ll take a lot more than that to harm me.”
Danny pointed to the side of his cheek. “Are you sure about that?”
Talia frowned. She reached up to her face. Her fingers brushed against her cheek and came away with a thin streak of blood.
Danny grinned, pointing his blade at his opponent. “First blood goes to me.”
------
Fact: most fights don’t last long. An average street fight could last anywhere between 25 to 40 seconds, and sword fights rarely last over a minute. Like Talia said, the goal of a fight was to end it with as few injuries to oneself as possible. Humans, even the most skilled ones, can rarely last long in a fight. Prolonged combat is suicide; it makes you tired, makes your muscles heavy. It’s nothing like what Hollywood would have you believe.
Even with Danny’s own enhanced stamina and Talia holding back, he couldn’t last a full ten-minute spar. If Talia didn’t finish him within twenty-five seconds, then he’d fall by his own human limitations.
But the goal wasn’t to spar continuously for ten minutes.
He only had to last that long.
Danny sprinted out of the cave. The sun barely peeked out of the horizon, a thin line of deep orange breaking apart the wide expanse of blue-black sky above. He couldn’t see shit; great news since that meant there’s a good chance Talia couldn’t either, but that doesn’t fix the fact that he can’t see.
Nearly stumbling on the ice, Danny veered to the left. The edges of the lake stopped at towering rocks twice Danny’s height, leaving little room for cover. Though if he remembered correctly, there should be a few crevices here and there to hide in.
“You’ll have to be faster than that, Daniel.”
Shit—
Danny stopped. He brought his sword up to parry Talia’s strike and twisted away, putting distance between them.
Well, so much for just avoiding her for 10 minutes.
He adjusted his grip, keeping his sword steady and eyes trained on Talia as they circled each other. Danny lunged with an overhead strike. Talia used one hand to block the downswing by gripping his wrists. She thrust her sword forward, the tip harshly poking Danny’s abdomen.
“Less than three minutes.” Talia let his wrist go, Danny’s arms slumping to his sides.
He sighed as he sheathed his sword. “Damn, I thought I’d last longer than that.”
“You made a good effort,” Talia assured him. “Putting as much distance between us at the beginning was a good strategy. You recognized the win conditions immediately and attempted a battle of attrition.” She placed a hand on his shoulder. “I am very proud of you habibi, especially as you managed to draw first blood.”
A warmth grew in Danny’s stomach at the words, heating his cheeks. Sheepishly, he scratched the back of his head. “I wasn’t entirely sure that would work, honestly.”
“It was clever; half a second later and you might have even killed me. You are an al Ghul through and through” She brushed his hair out of his face. “What would you like as your prize, then?”
Danny’s heart clenched. He frowned, dropping his arm to his side. If I was such an al Ghul, then why didn’t you keep me? The question lodged itself in his throat, stifling his thoughts. It was something he’d been wondering for a while, actually, in the moments of solitude he had at the compound. Talia, during their training, would always remark at his potential. How talented he was, how adaptable he was, how much greater he would have been if he had been trained at a younger age.
Well then, why wasn’t he? Why did she give him up?
But each time he tried to ask, his tongue would turn to lead and the moment would pass, the question still left unsaid and simmering at the back of his mind. A Pandora’s Box that held none of the world’s evil but all of Danny’s possible shortcomings.
He could ask the question now.
He could.
He didn’t.
“Why did you take me?”
Talia tilted her head. “It is because you’re my son.”
“No. Not that. It has to be something more than that. You had sixteen years to come back for me—or, hell, you could have just never left me.” His breath hitched, fingers mussing his hair and hiding his eyes. “Why else did you take me?”
“It is true that there was more than one reason why we decided to retrieve you from Amity Park. One of which is because you are my son and an heir of the Demon’s Head.” Talia stilled. The dark skies of dawn made it impossible for him to read her. “The second reason was to protect you.”
“You kidnapped me…to protect me?”
“Knowledge of the ghosts of Amity have spread through the more insidious parts of the world. There are many out there who would pay exorbitant fees to study one of you or to use you.”
Use him? What did she mean by—
Oh.
Ghosts—Amity Park’s brand of ghosts—were a new element that the world had to contend with. Amity Park might have a crime rate of zero but that wasn’t the case everywhere else. Theft, assault, murder; the world was rampant with crimes and criminals clawing their way to the very top. Having ghosts, even ones with the most basic powerset, would be a huge advantage.
“There’s no way that would work,” Danny insisted. “Most ghosts just want to be left alone, and the ones that want to wreak havoc would never work with humans. The only reason they even work with halfas like me at times is because they still consider us as ghosts.”
“If my sources are to be believed, ghosts might not even get a choice.”
Danny’s blood curdled in his veins.
No.

Whacky Gotham, Goofy New York, and Chaotic Paris.
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5) (Part 6) (Part 7)
Chapter 5: Then Let The Games Begin
•—–—–·†·–—–—•
Soooo, the Batfam is panicking, Gotham's confused as to why Iron Man is flying over Gotham like a madman, and Maria is with two of Gotham's Sirens (but only Ivy and Harley know this) having a wonderful time playing with Bud and Lou.
Let's start with the Sirens.
Harley is watching over Maria and Tikki as they sleep with Bud and Lou, Ivy walkes over to sit next to Harley, handing her a cup of tea.
"So, what's the diagnosis?" - Ivy
"She has some sort of trauma, has class issues... and handles more than she should, but still does everythin', on top of bein' a hero. She's been through some sh-t Pam." Yeah Harley may have found out Maria's a hero (if the tiny god and magic were anything to go by).
"Is she alone?" - Ivy
"No, thankfully, she has supportive parents, and friends that aren't little sh-ts. I think they're also heroes, she also has a lot, and I a mean A LOT of pent up emotions, she doesn't show anythin' negative, only positive things. She seems to shrink in on herself if she thinks she does somethin' wrong. Pam, we both know there's a limit to how much crap a person can take before they snap, and she's such a sweet kid. There has to be somethin' we can do to help her Ives." Ok she found out alot, but in Marias' defense, they have trustworthy souls, and they were the only other people (besides her friends) that she talked to about it, yes she had her Maman and Uncle to talk about hero stuff, but for the stuff her class does, she only ever vented (without being negative) to her friends.
"Her class is visiting the Botanical Gardens in three days, and it's a 2 part tour, so we can see just what's going on. If it's bad then we scare them a bit, if it's bad bad... they can handle a few slightly poisonous plants right?" - Ivy
"God I love the way ya think Ives, do ya think she can stay with us? I mean look at how cute she is with Bud and Lou... Oh my god, she's cuddlin' dem, and ya gave her a flower crown, how'd I miss that?! Where's the camera?"
Tumblr media
Harley took a picture to remind her of this wonderful moment. As Ivy and Harley looked at the picture, they both promised to keep Maria safe, and maybe become sorta kinda-ish parents to her while she's in Gotham.
•—–·Now back to the Bat-Chaos Bat-Cave·–—•
Tim took over the chair and was now searching the possible locations with Jarvis, Damian was sitting on a different chair, trying to act cool, but he wouldn't stop looking over at Tim, to see his progress. Bruce was talking over the comms with Tony. Dick and Jason, weren't helping (they kept feeding each other worse and worse ideas of what could have happened to Maria). Then they heard Jarvis speak.
"I have found the most likely area Ms. Dupain-Cheng would be in. Her phone died about 56 blocks away from her hotel, if we don't count kidnapping, or murder, she would have thought about asking for directions, but may have decided not to considering the city she is in. So that leaves us with a possible 15-25 mile radius from her last known location. I think it best to divide into groups of two, have Oracle stay and update you if anything on security, and or traffic cameras happens. Bruce will be with Tony, Dick will go with Tim, and Jason will go with Damain to search within the area. Stephanie and Cassandra will search around a 5 mile radius near Wayne hotel." as Jarvis continued to explain the other details, the Batfam began to suit up, Batman met up with Iron Man, and they took the North area, Nightwing and Red Robin took the East area, while Red Hood and Robin searched the South. Steph and Cass were on foot in civilian clothes, searching the West area they were assigned.
They searched for the whole day, and came up with nothing. Until Oracle saw a video from a traffic cam around 9pm, 15 blocks away from where her phone died. She called it in and everyone went back to the cave. Once everyone was at the Bat-Computer, Oracle pressed play, the cameras didn't have sound, and it wasn't close enough to see if she was ok.
They watched as she went to an overgrown parking lot and sat down. She was looking down at the ground, and that's when they spotted two figures round the corner and spot her. They watched as the two figures approach Maria, and saw the startled reaction she had. They realized it was Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy that were talking to her, then they saw Maria collapse. They watched as Harley made sure she was ok, looking over to Ivy before looking back to Maria and picking her up. The last thing they saw, was Maria being carried away by two of Gothams' most dangerous rouges, but now they knew where to look next.
•—–· Back to Ivy and Harley ·–—•
Harley continued to take adorable pictures of the children.
"God, they're so f-ckin' cute!" - Harley for the 20th time
As Ivy continued to watch while caring for her plants, Catwoman walked in.
"Hey girls, got the stuff for movie night, so what are we- Holy mother of cats! He adopted another f-cking child didn't he! Where the hell does he keep finding them?! 7 was ment to be the god DAMN LIMIT!!!" - Catwoman
Maria jumped at the sudden shouting and may have accidentally summoned a yo-yo (one made useing creation magic and protection magic) before saying.
"Tikki where's the akuma?! How long was I out?! Forget it Tikki spot-" she then realized she wasn't in Paris, and seeing a new face, she also realized she just spilled her secret to another person within the same day... kinda
"Fffffffffffudge sunday that fell on the pavement!" - Maria shouted in baker profanities
"That's not how ya curse sweetheart. It should go more like-" Harley was cut off by a vine Ivy had summoned.
"Harley, cursing makes the plants sad, you know this." - Ivy said removing the vine
Harley just walked over to Maria and whipsered it in her ear.
"You're supposed to say it more like this, ' ..... .... ... .. ....... .. ... .....' ok?" - Harley ended with a big smile
"... I will never see this world in the same frickin' light ever again." - Maria
"ehh close enough." - Harley
"Can someone please tell me, WTH is going on here, on our special girls day off?!" - Catwoman
"She is a new member of the Sirens as of today, and as a member, she's unda our protection, so effective immediately." - Harley
"Cool." - Maria
"Harley." - Ivy
"Wut... first things first, if she is going to join, she needs to be very flexible, know how to fight, and be incredibly intelligent." - Catwoman
"She beat Ed's @ss with a gun pointed at her, and solved every riddle with ease, so I'm positive she'll be an amazin' addition to the team." - Harley
'God she sounds like a new mother now' "But we don't know how good her flexibility is." - Catwoman
"I know, hey Maria, ya wanna do some tricks with me, of course we need to stretch first, but do ya wanna give it a go?" - Harley
"Sure." - Maria
Ivy and Catwoman sat down on a couch a few feet away from where Maria and Harley stood in the empty part of the building. They started out with stretches, and to Catwoman's surprise (and Harley's delight) Maria copied Harleys streches perfectly.
"Ok, now that that's done, we'll start with some cartwheels, then move on to flips, then handsprings and so on." - Harley
Maria gave Harley a nod... and they were off... literally, Harley did a cartwheel into a handspring, and a few backflips, Maria executed it flawlessly. Harley did some more complicated gymnastics tricks, and Maria did it, Harley did triple backflips going into a cartwheel, into a summersault, and Maria did that perfectly as well. This went on until both Harley and Maria were slightly out of breath, both having massive smiles on their faces.
"Ives, please let her join, she's like a mini me." - Harley then hugged Maria and they somehow both tripled in cuteness as they both did puppy (or Puss In Boots style) eyes at Catwoman and Ivy.
"Sure Harley." - Ivy said walking over to give Harley a small kiss on the cheek.
"Okay... but she doesn't have a costume yet, and she still has to think of a name for herself." - Catwoman
"Is a mouse good, like a mouse themed costume, that or a Turtle themed one. What do you think Harley?" - Maria
"Mmmm, I like that with the mouse you can always toy with Cat, ya know, cat an' mouse stuff, turtle seems... weird even fawh Gotham, so personally I would pick mouse, just because of the cheesy jokes you could do." - Harley
"Very funny, ok then, give me a moment."  Maria then reached out her hand, her eyes then started to glow an icy blue, and a small portal opened in front of her, she reached in and pulled out a small pendant necklace. After she put it on a small mouce appeared and greated itself, Marias' eyes going back to normal after closing the portal.
"Hello I'm Mullo, nice to meet you all."
"Omg omg omg, It's soooo f-ckin' CUTE!" - Harley
"Best to assume all of them are extremely cute Harls." - Ivy
"What the Hell did I miss in the week I was gone?!" - Catwoman
"Ehh, not much, oh but Iron Man did fly aroun' Gotham a few times earlier this mornin' like a madman." - Harley
"Oh sh-t." - Maria
"Maria are ya ok? That was ya first official proper curse in my presence." Harley said looking over to the girl.
"He's gonna kill me." - Maria
"Wait, what do you mean Marigold?" - Ivy
"... He's my Uncle, and I never got to text him I was ok, since my phone died before I met you." - Maria
"Hey, I'm sure he'll understand, now what are we watchin'?" - Harley
"I think we have more important matters other than movies at the moment!" - Catwoman
"Ok, Me Myself and Irene it is." - Harley
"No! You basically kidnapped Iron Mans' NIECE!!!" - Catwoman
"Technically, she fainted and us bein' the good Gothamites we are, decided to take her with us, to make sure she was a-okay." - Harley
"I'm ganna need more than just a six pack of soda to get me through this... Just put the movie on already." - Catwoman
Catwoman sat at the far left end of the couch, next to her sat Ivy, then Maria, and then Harley, Bud and Lou by their feet. All of them sharing one big blanket (Becuase if Iron Man did show up, or any of the birds, then Maria was in a protective burrito and they may not see her right away) and they started the movie.
•—–·–—•
"Oh god, the poor cow." - Maria
.........
"Hahahaha, he stuck a whole f-ckin' chicken head in that guys @ss" - Harley
"The poor chicken." - Maria
"Maria you don't want to see this part." - Ivy then lightly covered her eyes for the ehem, chicken extraction.
.........
"Anyone up for another movie?" - Harley
"That depends." - Ivy
"Any suggestions Cat?" - Harley looked across to the other end of the couch to see Catwoman already sleeping.
"She took her cat-nap already? Seriously?" - Harley
"... What about Pirates of The Caribbean?" - Maria
"I'm good with that." - Ivy
And they started the next movie, Maria was happy, it felt like when her maman and papa would sleep with her when she made a pillow fort. It was a loving atmosphere, it felt safe, and nothing could ruin it. Marias' eyes became heavy, and she leaned her head on Harleys' shoulder, falling asleep after a few minutes.
Ivy paused the move looking over to see both Harley and Maria sleeping, soon Ivy also fell asleep in the comfortable silence.
…………………………
Around an hour later Maria woke up in a panic, she had a nightmare, and kept looking around frantically for someone with tears running down her face.
"What's the matter hun?" - Harley said looking around to see if someone had gotten in. When she looked back at Maria she saw that she was crying.
"What happened?" Harley asked in a kind voice that was filled with motherly love.
"I, just *hic* had a bad dream that's *hic* all, I'm fine." - Maira said trying to wipe the tears away.
"You're ok, I promise nothin's goin' to happen to ya as long as Ivy and I are here, ok hun?" - Harley hugged Maria, and she could feel the girl let out a few more sobs, and quick breathes.
"Thanks Maman." Maria didn't even realize what she had said, it just felt natural for her to say it.
"You're welcome hun." 'Omg I'm gonna cry, she called me maman!' Harley rubbed small circles over Marias' back, and began humming until she fell asleep, she continued to hug Maria until she also fell asleep.
•—–· Back to the Chaos Bat-Cave ·–—•
"What do you mean she's with two of Gotham City's Sirens?!" - Tony
"Tony, calm down, I'll call Selina, she can talk to them and get this all sorted out." - Bruce
"Your fiancee is a Gotham Siren too?! Why didn't you tell me?!" - Tony
"Why isn't she picking up? And unlike some people, this family doesn't like outing our secret identities... on live TV." - Bruce
"Oh well excuse me for not keeping my secret identity a SECRET!" - Tony
"I'll try calling her one more time." - Bruce
"Bruce, it's 3am. Who in their right mind ever stays up this late.... aside from this family." - Tim with a giant coffee mug in hand.
"... I'll just call her one more time." Bruce then connected it to the Bat-Computer so everyone could hear.
•—–· Back to the Sirens ·–—•
Catwoman's phone is ringing like crazy, waking everyone up, including a tired, annoyed, and confused Selina.
"Wth does he want at 3 in the morning?!" - Selina
"Just answer it so we can keep sleepin'." - Harley still hugging Maria
"I'm putting it on speaker, so you lot can testify against his @ss in court, for disturbing the peace."
•—–· Over to Batsy ·–—•
"Selina I need to ask-"
"WHAT THE F-CKING HELL DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT A GOOD NIGHTS REST!" - Selina
"Oooooh, she sounds pissed Bruce." - Jason
"I'm sorry to call you at this hour, but we need to find a girl that looks just like every single one of my other kids." - Bruce
"Bruce... I thought we agreed that 7 kids was. the. f-cking. limit." - Selina
•—–· Back to the Sirens ·–—•
Selina looked over to Maria before muting the speaker.
"Do you want them to know you're here Kitten?" - Selina
"... I'm tired, I haven't had coffee, I have no filter, so f-ck it, act like you never saw me today, and let them drown in chaos. " - Maria
"I think I like filter less Maria." - Harley
"Okay." Selina shrugged her shoulders and then un-muted her phone, putting it back on speaker mode.
"Where was she last seen?" - Selina
"She was last seen with Harley and Poison Ivy, I want you to see if she's still with them." - Bruce
Selina looked over to Maria and Harley, both of them shook their heads with mischievous grins.
"I've been with them all day, and I haven't once seen a girl that looks like your kids. Now can I go back to sleep, and forget this ever happened?" - Selina
"WHERE IS MY NIECE!!!" - Tony
"Oh, hey Tony, didn't know you were there, don't know who, or where your niece is, but good luck trying to find her. Oh and Bruce, I'm shutting my phone off so you don't keep calling till the butt crack of dawn. And congrats it's now 4am. you owe me a lunch date, uh-ba-bye." Selina then hung up her phone and turned it off.
"That went pretty well if you ask me, now I'm going back to sleep." - Selina
•—–· Back to Batsy ·–—•
The room was silent for a few minutes before Jason spoke up.
"Does that mean that Pixiepop ran away and is even more lost now?!" - Jason
"Oh god, what do we do, what if she got hurt?!" - Dick
"What if she got kidnapped?!" - Jason
"What if she's with a big time Gotham Villain?!" - Dick
"... What if she got more coffee?" - Tim
"Oh Hell No" - Jason/Dick
"... Lets all go to sleep, and when we wake up, we'll head over to their base and double check. She could've just said that because I called her at 3am." - Bruce
"But my niece is still out there!" - Tony
"You're going to sleep Tony." - Pepper then dragged Tony to his room.
•—–· Back to Maria ·–—•
Selina went to a different part of the building, where Maria assumed the bedrooms were. Ivy had gone to the greenhouse to be with the plants, and now it was just her and Harley left on the couch, and she couldn't sleep.
"... Harley?" - Maria
"Yeah hun?" - Harley
"I can't sleep." - Maria
"Well, watcha wanna do till ya get tired?" Harley asked sitting up a little straighter to get a better look at Maria.
Maria gave a sly smile, and looked Harley in the eyes "Want to go free-running on the rooftops?"
"... Alright, but lets get some coffee, and a snack in us first." - Harley gave her a side hug, before getting up to go make the coffee, and grab some snacks.
After they had their coffee, they climbed to the roof of the base. Harley was in her outfit, bat in hand and ready to do some bonding.
"So, how does ya outfit work?" - Harley
"Like so, ready Mullo?" - Maria
"Yes Maria" - Mullo
"Ok, Mullo, Get Squeaky!" A bright light flashes, and when Harley could see again, Maria was in a dark gray suit, wearing black knee high boots, with a strip of pink at the knee, and black elbow length gloves with the same pink strip at her elbow. Her mask was a slightly lighter gray on the top part, and pink on the bottom. Her hair was pulled into two buns with pink ribbons that faded to gray, and to black at the very tip. Her jump rope around her waist forming a tail going just below the back of her knees.
"Just when I think ya can't get any more adorable. So what should I call ya?" - Harley
"You can call me Multimouse." - Maria
Soon they were racing and doing tricks off different roofs, they were really enjoying themselves. From one of the roofs they heard a commotion in one of the alleys, when they looked down they saw a man holding a woman at gunpoint.
"Not good, seems like he's got issues, probably lost his lover, most likely has additions to drugs and alcohol, and seems to be a little tipsy." - Harley
"I've got a plan." - Multimouse
…………
Multimouse droped a little way behind the guy, grabbing his attention while Harley got the lady to safety.
"You know there's a help center two blocks from here that would be more than willing to help you." - Multimouse
The crook just raised his gun to her trying to keep it steady as he spoke.
"Give me all your money little girl, or else I'll hurt you."
"1. That's not how you hold a gun. 2. That is no way to treat any girl. and 3. Instead of money, I'll give you my jump rope." - Multimouse
"Why the hell would I want your jump rope, that thing looks worthless." the crook lowered his guard enough as Multimouse pretended to hand over her jump rope, only to use it in a quick motion to dismarm the man, as Harley promptly knocked him out with one swing.
"Lets neva have ya at gunpoint again, okay hun? I'm afraid my heart can't take it." - Harley said while tying the crook to a lamppost.
"Sorry, but it was the best idea I could come up with at the moment, besides, any guy with a gun would feel like they have the upper hand if they're facing a random little girl with a jump rope, rather than Gothams' Harley Quinn with a bat." - Multimouse
"Sadly I'm just too popular with the kiddos on the street." - Harley
…………
They continued to stop a few more muggers on the way back to the base, and when they got back they peaked around the corner to see the whole Batfam plus Iron Man talking with Ivy and Selina.
"How much you want to bet we can get back out before they see us?" - Whispering Multimouse
"... Lets try hidin' in the kitchen." - Whispering Harley
As they tried to sneak by (still in their costumes) Selina just walks over and draggs them to the group.
"Here, now let me sleep!" - Selina
"Dang it Selina we wanted tah see just how long we could hide out in the kitchen!" - Harley
Selina did a double take now realizing they both went out.
"... You didn't." - Selina
"We wanted tah go free-runnin'! So what?" - Harley
"She could've gotten hurt Harls." - Ivy
"My suits magic, I am invulnerable to bullets, normal magic, swords, knifes, anything staby staby, and I can withstand any temperature in it." Multimouse said with a slight pout.
"Hold up, is she a magical girl?" - Red Hood in the background
When Selina let go both Harley and Multimouse went behind Ivy for protection.
"We can still make a run for it." - Harley whispered to Multimouse
"... Ok, I'll meet you on the roof." - Whispering Multimouse
Harley gave a nod as she slowly inched her wasy closer to the door that lead to the roof, as she saw Iron Man approach Multimouse.
"Please get out of your suit, we need to talk about why you're here-" - Iron Man
"Multitute!" - Multimouse
Harley then saw Multimouse shrink into dozens of tiny little versions of herself as her clones spread out in all directions, one of which was heading right for her.
"Wth, you never told us she could use magic!" - Red Robin
Harley picked her up, and slipped through the door without anyone noticing.
"That was great, but how do ya get back tuh normal size?" - Harley
"Simple, I just merge back with my clones." As she said this, all her clones came back, and she merged with herself, becoming normal sized again.
"Where to?" - Multimouse
………… So now The Batfam is trying to find many long gone Mini-Multimouses, and Harley seems to have disappeared with her. Harley and Multimouse are now running over the roofs, heading for Wayne Manor.
"So why are we going to Wayne Manor?" - Multimouse
"Because, Batsy will neva think of lookin' for us at his own home, at least not fawh a little while." - Harley
When they arrived at the Manor, Multimouse de-transformed as Harley knocked on the door.
"Ms. Quinn, Ms. Maria, pleasure to see you here, please come in." - Alfred
"Are any of the bat-birds here?" - Harley
"Ms. Barbara, Ms. Stephanie, and Ms. Cassandra are the only ones here at the moment." - Alfred
"Do ya think you can keep us bein' here a secret from Batsy?" - Harley
"Harley? What are you doing here with Maria?" - Barbara
"It seems that Ms. Harley and Ms. Maria are now playing hide and seek with the rest of the family." - Alfred
"Did someone say hide and seek?" - Steph
"Yes, so could we maybe try and keep this a secret from everyone else, please?" - Maria
"Sure, it was starting to get boring around here. We can all hide in the living room no one ever use. Barbara you show them the way, I'll get the food/drinks and boardgames." - Steph
"Is this alright with you Alfred?" Maria
"It's all right Ms. Maria, you can hide out in the old living room." - Alfred
"Thanks Alfie, ya the best." - Harley
"Thank you Alfred." - Maria
"Ok then, follow me." - Barbara
…………
In the old living room, Harley, Maria, Barbara, Steph, and Cass began to formulate a plan.
"Ok, so the best way for them to never find you is to have your phone off, stay away from any and all cameras, and show your face to no one." - Steph
"So, do you have anything in mind that you might want to do?" - Barbara
"Can we put them on a wild goose chase?" - Maria
Cass nodded to Marias' suggestion approvingly.
"I can hack a few traffic cams to help with that." - Barbara
"We can also throw in some useless hints, to throw dem even further off our scent." - Harley
"Good idea Harley." - Barbara
"Thanks, but how long do ya think we should make it last?" - Harley
"As long as Maria wants it to." - Barbara
"Then let the games begin." - Maria.
