Context: I stealth at work, i.e. I present as male

Yesterday a customer came, called me girl, then did the usual backtracking and sorrys. But when I did the —at this point scripted— typical spiel of "not to worry, I don't mind and that it must be my long hair" she was like "No. It's something else." and then just refused to elaborate mumbling something about my privacy.

I think I got clocked by a random woman?? And not through my hair??? By bloody what then??

Okay, I checked the mirror before posting.

My face has most definitely gotten rounder since I last allowed my eyes on a reflective surface (which was a bunch of weeks ago). So it was that change with the add-ons of the messy ponytail and the white/pink-ish necklace, I'm guessing..?

So that was... kinda affirming. And fairly reassuring cause I really never gotten any interest in make-up outside eyeliner so if I can be perceived correctly without it, it's a grand win cause putting full-on make up is work and time I can spent sleeping. And I need sleep.

Was at a friend's house with my dog and we were chatting in the living room. Dog was resting but not asleep.

My dog is not a quiet or graceful dog. She gets from point A to point B loudly and directly. This often involves unsuccessfully trying to walk under a table or between a table's legs. She has nails that go "click-clack" when she walks on hard surfaces.

But as we were chatting she spotted something (I'm assuming a mouse) in the kitchen.

And she silently and quickly got up and full bore dashed into the kitchen to try and catch it.

But she was utterly silent while she did it. She weaved through the living room table legs (which she famously cannot successfully weave through) and made it to the kitchen (about 15 feet) without a sound.

It was like she switched into "serious" mode for just a second.

Then, unsuccesful in catching her prey, she walked back to her spot, bumped the table, and groaned so loudly while lying down you could hear it upstairs.

I was surprised they didnt touch on anything transition/hrt related with veilguard either tbh even in like a throwaway codex entry. Considering we got ones about like Taash talking to the shadow dragons/other canonically trans characters about stuff youd think maybe this would be the perfect game to consider addressing it but they never do. Very sad about that

honestly this is one of the reasons i really hate how transness is done in the game and why it feels so hollow. there's no attempt to actually engage with what being queer in thedas would actually look like beyond "i came out, some people were nice and some people weren't but that's life i guess" which is an oversimplified narrative for OUR world let alone a semi-medieval fantasy setting. even a little "i'm lucky i learned creation magic / was good at alchemy / live somewhere where blood magic is legal so i could control my transition" from mae or "i saved up every coin i earned until i could see some backalley healer for surgery" from tarquin would make it feel more like transness actually exists in thedas. i'm very interested in the current trend in mainstream media that sanitises queer experiences to the point that it strips them of anything meaningful, i guess it's a semi-appropriate reaction to the years of exploiting trauma narratives but i selfishly preferred those because it at least felt like there was some form of emotional connection going on there.
