Even in Sarada's birthday those pathetic dumb antis can't leave the tags lmao.
They claim to hate SasuSaku with all of their beings, yet they can't ever let it go and are so pressed with it. And here I am laughing at each of their dumb tries to annoy us SasuSaku shippers when in all honesty we just laugh at their misery to be cool when they're just a bunch of pissy toddlers. 🤣

After sitting and digesting the new Amazing Digital Circus episode, I've come to the conclusion that I really appreciate Jax for the simple fact that he's the first character in a popular series I can recall in a long while who's just an absolute, unabashed asshole.
It feels like in today's media and storytelling no one wants to make their characters too mean or too unlikable. They're afraid to alienate the audience: The absolutely abysmal sanding down and softening up of The Grinch in the Illumination adaptation back in 2018 specifically comes to mind; their flagship franchise is about villains but they can't make the Grinch, the mean one, MEAN.
Tumblr media
If a character is in the 'asshole'-archetype, they always fall into the "Stands off to the side and spouts one-liners and pretends to not care but absolutely has a soft side for this one thing/person" type of character.
Jax is mean, he physically pushes people over and out of the way, he insults everyone around him and bullies Gangle, and his only source of joy is seeing people miserable and suffering; even if they're just NPCs. He's not the type of mean where it's fun to watch what he does, like you would a charismatic villain, he's uncomfortably awful.
He's not the Tumblr Sexyman, watered down and digestible-type of asshole, he's genuinely an awful fucking person and it's honestly refreshing to see a character with some bite to them, and the creator not being afraid to make a polarizing character on purpose.

Another rant because I’ve been seeing a lot of TikTok antis as of late—
So let me get this straight, anti’s love preaching about the large age gap and non-existent “ped0philia” in regards to vaultghoul (unfortunately I have seen an anti spew that on TikTok before), yet I’ve seen some of them saying how they love older men + DILF’s, I’ve seen them fangirl over Lana del Rey and her romanticization of toxic relationships with older men, talk about “beekeeping age” men on TikTok, and they all seem to love the enemies-to-lovers trope until it comes to a ship that is the literal PERFECT representation of that. Things don’t need to always be sunshine and rainbows 24/7 in the land of shipping, not to mention we’re talking about a ship within the Fallout universe for fuck’s sake.
I am begging y’all to QUIT INFANTILIZING LUCY. She is a young adult, we don’t know her exact age but we do know that she is indeed a young adult. She is more than capable of making her own decisions in regards to who she wants to be romantic toward. If they make VaultKnight canon that’s cool with me, if they want to make VaultGhoul canon, that’s cool with me too. Fuck, if they don’t make her wind up with anyone that’s cool too! Regardless of how the writers go about it, Lucy is a grown ass woman!
Oh, and before I end this— Can you guys also tell me why you’re A-okay with people shipping Dane x Maximus, yet when people ship Lucy and Cooper it’s “oMg WhY aRe YoU sHiPpInG tHeM??? LuCy and MaX aRe ThE cAnOn ShIp!!!!! 😡😡😡”
Please make the hypocrisy make sense.

I think the part I hate more about the HOFAS bonus chapter was actually the morning after. Ignoring IC finding out and the argument/execution talk, I despise that even though a decision had been made and it was supposed to be put to rest. The minute Rhys is away from Feyre he starts taking a go at Nesta because he knows no one else is going to stop him. I hate that Nesta is now magically bound to a court with a man who hates her and her only protection is her younger sister (who is a mother, a high lady and it quite frankly shouldn't be her job).
I despise that this is the first outside look we get into Nesta's life in the NC.... genuinely wtf

manga spoilers!!!!!
the mischaracterization of Monoma and Bakugo's relationship on tiktok is literally THE WORST.
"Monoma never hated Bakugo!!" he ABSOLUTELY did.
Tumblr media
the entire reason why Monoma thought 1-A sucked in the beginning was because Bakugo is an ass.
Tumblr media
He was pissed off when Bakugo actually WORKED WITH HIS TEAM because he's known him as some prick who doesn't know how to cooperate up until that point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was shocked an upset by Bakugo's "death" because he has seen him and class 1-A as this unstoppable force ever since he met them. seeing someone you thought was unkillable BE KILLED is a shock.
sure, he shits on 1-A but it's VERY OVIOUS he doesn't actually believe 1-A is less then him. he holds them on a very high pedestal and he's watching it crumble before his very own eyes. and it's obvious that he doesn't like seeing stuff that forcefully changes his views from the joint training battles.
even though Bakugo's personality is flaming garbage Monoma still KNEW him. not only that but he had to watch him get mauled and he physically couldn't look away. that's horrifying.
and even if I'm completely wrong and Horikoshi decides to suddenly make Monoma respect Bakugo JUST BECAUSE he died for five minutes would be a horrible choice for Monoma's character. everyone who didn't like Bakugo at first always ends up respecting him for some stupid reason, and that's not how the real world works. there NEEDS to be someone that balances that out, and that someone IS MONOMA. his background and previous interactions with Bakugo make him the perfect guy to hate his guts.
this arc for Monoma, in my opinion, should be the arc that lets him finally win SOMETHING. that lets him shine. because all throughout this entire story we have seen Monoma fail over and over again. what this arc shouldn't be is Monoma suddenly gaining some sort of "newfound respect" for the guy he's hated the entire story.

i'm still in disbelief that some ex lestappies (just reading this gives dark chills) don't see absolutely anything that gives credibility to lestappen's long-built relationship, they really think that their relationship is PR or non-existent and that doesn't enter my head. i didn't even have to be showing proof to the antis that lestappen is a higher level but here we are.

laudna telling imogen “make me one promise: if you get in there and something doesn’t feel right, you get out. we change, even if it’s the last minute. we can take the staff, get the fuck out of here. not that I want to abandon anybody.” and imogen kissing laudna and telling her “we both know we can’t do that. …I don’t want to abandon them now.” 💜 (bonus: orym, reading their lips, taking a huge amount of comfort and pride at seeing imogen say she’s not going to run from this 💚)

“Anti-woke” culture and the phrase “it’s not that deep” is killing critical thought. What a pathetic way to view life. Let’s lobotomize our existences in order to be more palatable. Infantilize our speech to mere pedestrian talk. The term in and of itself is almost an insult to human intelligence. How dare the presumption that depth can be dismissed be brought into a conversation. Those who consider themselves “anti-woke” utilize these terms akin to a form of propaganda. A simple, accessible, monosyllabic device that can dismiss anything that contradicts your political ideology. Absolutely ridiculous.

War of the Rohirrim thoughts:
Overall, I would say that I quite enjoyed stepping back into the world of LOTR (and it would be impossible for a single film to live up to the atmosphere of the original trilogy) it was a relief to see that, despite a few deviations/flaws, you can tell there was a lot of care and respect for the source material from those involved.
I only wish they provided more of a historical context as to the disparity or ongoing conflict between the Dunlendings and the Rohirrim to give more depth to the 'contract' or marriage proposal that eventually goes awry. I also wish that they fleshed out Wulf more and I think reducing him, even jokingly to an "incel" (or even reducing the character of Héra under a label) doesn't do justice to their characters. Wulf could have been more of a compelling villain and the fact that his late father's general (a new character in the story of the movie) placed some measure of faith in his rulership, points to that possibility. But, I guess it's also realisitic that he fumbled those grand ambitions (if there was a tiny seedling of that in his quest of revenge) in the end. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that General Tark (?) had more nuance than just throwaway supporting villain.
Apart from one major plot deviation concerning how the conflict is resolved, some may take issue, but with the choice of how the story was more Hera focused at that point, I'm not sure how the writers could have made it align with how it really concluded according to the book. I'm also not sure if the writers intended to open up the question I had been wondering before this was film was released about "deeds remembered in history" and added to that with "who" and "how" these tales are recorded or passed down generations. It is mentioned in Appendix A of RotK that "[m]any lords and warriors, and many fair and valiant women are named in the songs of Rohan [...] (Tolkien 424). So, it's not far-fetched to think there could have been such a story about Hera but it was never written down or recorded as such, and the story as Éowyn tells it may have survived only orally through song.
There was no "girlbossery" to be found in Héra if ROP's "Galadriel" is an exemplary model of that regurgitated toxic trope. She had her strengths and weaknesses and cared deeply for her family and for her people.
I enjoyed the familial relationships we saw, though I wish there was more, especially of Fréaláf. I wish we could've gotten more on his situation in Dunharrow during the Long Winter and how and why it was difficult to secure aid for the refugees in the Suthberg (Hornburg later named after Helm Hammerhand).
As to the allegations that may be out there that Helm is a "Gary Stu" , I think he's more akin to the mythic characters like Beowulf or Gilgamesh; just an epic, larger than life character --and I think the medium of animation did that mythic hyperbole justice, and live-action would require some kind of creative framing to suspend the disbelief of the audience.
For me, the movie had the potential to be more, but I still enjoyed it, coming away with loving Rohan and the Rohirrim all the more, especially Fréaláf, who may hearken back to another horse-lord, but is not a "copy-paste" of him, just as Hera is not a facsimile of Éowyn (though I do wish they had given her a more Anglo-Saxon inspired name).
TLDR; if you enjoyed the trilogy/ hated the travesty that is ROP, you will most likely enjoy this movie.
(Also, kudos to the voice-acting, especially Luke Pasqualino.)

three things can be true at the same time. 1, christian (and ex-christian) arab, muslim, etc cultures are all deeply steeped in antisemitism. 2, muslims, christians etc who do fight antisemitism come from that same culture but are some of the loudest and most cherished allies. 3, there are tons of christians and muslims who aren't antisemitic, don't give two shits about jews neither hate nor love, full stop, and treating all christians and muslims as suspect is racist as hell.
antisemites are not subtle, smart, ethical, truthful or just "misspeaking"/"well meaning" when they cover their antisemitism with antizionist talk. they tell you who they are in a million different ways and treating large groups like they are all antisemites for being born is as wrong as hating all woman, men, blacks, whites, etc for the same.
idk. i just don't want to end up funneling my anger at the media and the amsterdam pogrom and the many many attacks against jews around the world into bigotry. i have to periodically remind myself that most people are normal and the jew hatred I'm constantly exposed to is done by people who mean to do it and want me funneled into the same bigoted bullshit that they are steeped in. i never want to abandon my humanity to become a racist like that, especially not because racists attack me.
