Ok, but Shen Jiu being Shen Yuan's father is so funny in a very tragic way. Shen Jiu is a ball of traumas and all types of issues and i truly believe there's not a single one that man doesn't have, so, you give him a baby!Shen Yuan, a little ball of life that depends on him for survival, cannot walk away from him and is culturally wired to pretty much love him and if not, to at the least respect him above all else, you cannot tell me that this man would be normal about him. Also, imagine Shen Jiu, who'd be the type of parent to project traumas the way only a mother could, having a child that looks like him but with a "sweeter" personality (which, by the way, is bullshit, they just have never seen that boy rip into a book he disliked but wouldn't stop reading) that has the effect on men Shen Yuan has, he'd lock that boy up in a tower to "cultivate" and consequently create a rumor about the Qing Jing's beauty who was so bewitching their peak lord father locked them in a tower because that's just his luck. Loving Shen Yuan wouldn't fix him, but it'd create a whole new set of issues that'd cancel out the other ones

something. about. the horror of being sent on an impossible (death) quest and obligations and hospitality politics. the trauma of not having a home, and then the trauma of being in a house that becomes actively hostile to you, one that would swallow you whole and spit out your bones if you step out of line. all of this is conditional, your existence continues to be something men want gone.

it's about going back as far as I can with the perseus narrative because there's always a version of a myth that exists behind the one that survives. the missing pieces are clearly defined, but the oldest recorded version of it isn't there! and there's probably something older before that!! but it's doomed to forever be an unfilled space, clearly defined by an outline of something that was there and continues to be there in it's absence.

I don't understand why there's barely anyone making cold readers, self-inserts, mcs, and y/ns.

Do you guys not understand the impact cold characters are to characters that are not just necessarily hot, but are happy, peppy, living, generous, light of the world, puppy dog energy. Like how out of all the people in the world we choose him because he managed to melt our cold hearts. And I dont mean this in a cringe way no. Please for fucks sake learn gradual inserts and give and take. Take the time to let it sit. Because the payoff for this when you wait is huge:

I really do think that Stone would wear Robotnik’s old coats until he makes himself one and that headcannon is totally not from me drawing this before I made my version of Stone’s villain outfit and having to quickly come up with a way to make it work without completely redrawing it. (/sarcasm)

I also do believe that Metal Sonic was a blueprint made by Robotnik while he was in his slump between S2 and S3 but didn’t have the motivation to make it so he gave up making other blueprints to try and motivate himself. The blueprints for Metal were probably put into storage or in some personal server and left to collect dust until Stone decided he wanted to try and continue the doctor’s work after S3. Stone would work on it to feel closer to the doctor and, probably because it would’ve been the last thing Robotnik worked on, it would be like one of the last things he has of Robotnik- which would contribute to the feeling of deep love and care for Metal (that and how he probably worked days come weeks to fully understand the blueprints and create Metal on his prolly very limited budget).

Now the real question is can I have one headcanon that I don’t fully flesh out and just leave be?

This supports my theory that during the start of the Crusade, Messmer was still going back and forth between Leyndell and LoS. The upper echelons must have confronted him in one of those trips and that’s the last time he could see Marika.

Also, while I see why people will view the Specimen Storehouse as glorified trophies for the Crusade, if you connect it to Marika’s bedchamber in the base game it doesn’t seem to be the case. because back then when we walked in Marika’s bedchamber no one knew wtf are those tablets 😭 if they were merely glorified trophies, they would have been displayed differently, not hidden in her room taking up more than half of her bed…. I think Marika is srl trying to understand why the Hornsent did all those things to her people and other clans in Land of Shadows (the Curseblade, the Frenzy Flame followers, Lamenters, etc…)
