He's a part of one of the famous medieval Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, specifically the Mon Seul Désir piece.

There is this wonderful bronze cast doggy in Ateneum, and I think he is embodying Machete in his panicking trot.

I've seen this artist's work a couple of times before in person and I swear I knew his name at some point, but right now I just can't recall it :U

Either way, I think this here might be a horse? I remember these sort of textured, twiggy-legged horses being this sculptor's trademark. Then again, I could be totally mistaken. It does have high panicked energy.

Hi! I hope I'm not bothering you, but I just had a moominsummer madness book lying around and noticed that this Fillyjonk reminded me a lot of Machete. With the long, miserable snout, the big sad eyes, clothing and all :)

You're not bothering at all! I've mentioned this before a couple of times but Moomins are essentially embedded into the marrow of my bones, I've been an admirer of Tove Jansson and her creations a lot longer than I can remember. Fillyjonks (multiple separate characters, including the one you mentioned from Moominsummer madness) are some of my favorites, so I wouldn't be terribly surprised if some of their neurotic energy had influenced my dogs as well.

I think the most Machete-like fillyjonk is the one from the short story Fillyjonk who believed in disasters. It's one of my favorite pieces of literary fiction. Despite it's shortness and simplicity, the way it captures the crushing banality and loneliness of everyday anxiety and paranoia changed my brain chemistry when I first read it. It's currently quite easy to find online in English.

This Italian greyhound(I'm pretty sure) I found on Pinterest is so machete coded. This creature is just 95% anxiety. How can one possibly possess such wet scared eyes. It looks like kid Machete was gifted a sweater by a grandma oh lord

I work at a vet clinic and this is the box out surgery drapes come in. The dog reminds me of Vasco and I’m like “wow I didn’t know Vasco was a surgeon”.

But I’ve been meaning to take a picture of this and send to you for a long time I just kept forgetting to do so.

A small list of things that remind me of machete :). First, a beaded wedding dress that looks like blood. Second, a bleeding heart dove. Third, Asian bleeding-heart flowers (little bit of a theme), fourth, the romanticism of tuberculosis, and fifth, a pomegranate husk. I have nobody to show this to so I am sending it your way

if you search for 'cremello akhal teke' they're obviously the best choice for Machete

Look how worried the blue eyes make them look

For Vasco, apparently there's a breed that comes from a mix of Arabian and Andalusian horses, (Hispano-Árabe) (pretty sure every country has their version of 'one of our horsie but with some Arabian') and they kinda seem to vary in appearance, but i've stumbled on a few that look suitably golden and round ?

I actually went looking at pictures of pale akhal-tekes earlier and got distracted for a good forty minutes or so.

It's certainly a distinct look.

A bit like if you took a regular horse and shaved, unseasoned and shrink wrapped it (and I say this with my heart full of limitless love for them).

Such a gangly, perturbed young'un.
