i think the issue is that when talking about mithan or mia in general, theres just SO MUCH misinformation that its honestly a pain the butt to talk about

people still think that she was responsible for the creation of eveline, people still think that she experimented on eveline, people still use examples of her attacking ethan as if she did it on her own will instead of being mind controlled

mithan is such a sad relationship because they loved each other so much and that ended up being the reason their relationship fell apart (sort of... its not like the broke up... ethan kinda just straight up died)

its not a bad thing! well i mean it is but it doesnt make her some evil witch who is somehow worse than the guy how made a werewolf american ninja warrior. its just a major character flaw she has! which is good! mia being a flawed person who makes mistakes and morally gray decisions make her a more interesting person!

she is selfish in the way that she wants to keep her family with her no matter the cost. even if it means lying to ethan about her job so that he wont think different of her. here is a interrogation from the re7 DLC, which is easy to miss!

she isnt necessarily trying to apologize for the things she has done, she is more of a, "u wont need to forgive me in the first place if we just forget it all and move on"

she doesn't try to redeem herself for what she has done, she tries to move on and return to the normal life that she wants so bad. which is fine! everyone copes a different way and she has to right to move on from her trauma. the problem that lies in this is that she has a shared trauma with ethan who still has no idea what went on in dulvey and still effects him till the present (he is mold! this is a important thing to know! most people would want to know if they were a walking corpse)

she played a direct part in what happened in dulvey, and im not referring to the email, she did not send that. she never wanted ethan to come in the first place. she tried her best to send a video to him, begging him to forget about her because she wanted to protect him, BUT it didnt send.

he got involved because she was involved. its honestly a series of really really unfortunate events.

THOUGH! she did know what she was getting into. im tired of seeing the narrative that mia was innocent and didnt know what was going on or was simply a bystander. she knew what she was doing, she knew eveline was a bioweapon, she knew eveline was a child. she used a MACHINE GUN! she knows how to use weapons and was obviously trained for it.

she tried her best to keep everybody out of the mess, ex: warning the bakers not to take them in, warning ethan not to find her, sacrificing herself for ethan in the later half of re7

but again, those are the consequences of HER actions

her consequences just happen to get really big and end up hitting ethan on the head like a metal sheet 😭

their relationship is really so interesting, it makes me really sad to think about sometimes 😭they both went through something that nobody else would ever understand, in the end they really only have each other. they get moved to an entire different country and the dulvey incident gets covered up with a "gas leak"

its really tragic because their marriage definitely had some flaws and bumps. and i know im repeating myself but its because people always take this in the worst way possible but just because i say their relationship was rocky doesnt mean im saying they dont love each other!!! thats the entire basis of mias character!! saying she doesnt love ethan would destroy her entire character!

you can see in the re8 DLC how fondly ethan talks about mia! he loves her so much, though im not sure if his comments in the DLC are him narrating current (post re8) or his thoughts before everything went down and he died (pre re8)

everything mia did was because she LOVED ethan. she would never do anything to intentionally hurt him, she is not a cruel person. she hides the truth of her job from ethan pre re7 because she loves him and doesnt want her job to drive them apart. she CONTINUES to refuse to tell ethan the truth post re7 because she wants to move on a live a happy normal life with him and knows something like her being directly associated with the connections would probably cause (more) problems. she refuses to tell ethan that he is mold because again, hard to live a happy marriage with your husband after you tell him hes a bioweapon.

obviously i dont think it was right that she did this, thats what makes her selfish! she did it for herself! she did it for her family! she thought it would work out, she thought that they could move on and be happy together.

the issue is that ethan didnt want to forget. he wanted to know what happened, he wanted to know the part mia played, he wanted answers! which is reasonable! he knows to some extent that mia was partially responsible for his involvement and he was always suspcious that mia was lying to him about her job which is implied when mia says "you were right, i did lie to you"

she doesnt learn, she doesnt stop lying, her lies get bigger and worse and it sucks yeah but it makes her so interesting!!! she keeps doing stupid things under the idea that this is whats best for her and her family, that if she hides this everything will work out and it will be for the better but its not!

just because telling your husband hes dead and a bioweapon is a hard subject to bring up doesnt mean you DONT bring it up. people shouldnt use that as a reason to excuse mia 😭, its a very bad excuse and honestly highlights how horrible their communication skills were. you cant just not tell your husband that he is actually infected with the mold and not tell him for the tree years between post re7 and pre re8.

im not saying these things to put mia down, or try and villanize her. these are all just actual things her character does! she isnt evil, but she isnt a knight in shining armor either. we need to be able to have talks about complex characters without crying everytime someone points out a flaw. characters have flaws! and mia just happens to have a lot of them!

im not mad at her, i dont dislike her because i think this way of her. shes a fictional character! you can like characters that are morally gray, or villains that drink blood and make corpse soldiers. they are fictional! pointing out the flaws of a character does not mean i dont like them.

i wouldnt call her "the real villain of re8" but i wouldnt treat her like a damsel in distress either. she is a competent person, she knows what shes doing, she has her reasons for doing them. she made bad descions with good intentions behind them! they can coexist and we should let them!

its even more frustrating that mia straight up just disappears???? in the shadows of rose DLC... like she just stops taking care of rose and theres nothing said about it. no reason or explanation. i dont think mia would ever ditch rosemary because she didnt care about her, but we probably will never know because capcom sucks at writing and they probably forgot the mia ever even existed.

all in all, i think the fandom is really just full of misinformation which make people either think mia is some horrible evil person, or its full of people who think that saying mia messed up is the equivalent of comparing her to wesker lol.

i really love mia, shes a incredibly fun and complex character, its just hard to enjoy her sometimes with the people in the fandom haha.

✨ My BSD hot takes/unpopular opinions ✨:

1. Identifying BSD characters as Queer, is not problematic. STOP being so Heteronormative. Gay characters are not gonna kill you.

If I see another "BuT tHe ChArAcTeRs nEvEr SaId tHeY aRe GaY" I would bomb you 💣/j

2. Skk/SSKK/Fyolai/other popular ships, exist because people like it. If you don't ship them, don't engage with their content. Not all shippers act crazy and toxic. Stop blaming everything on shippers.

3. Atsushi/Kyouka is problematic, stop justifying it with "only 4 year age gap". Kyouka is a CHILD, ship her with Kenji if you want. Atsushi, like a normal 18 year old would never look at a highschool freshman and date her. Even if they date in the future, he knew her when she was younger and they had a sibling like dynamic. Lucy is a way better love interest to Atsushi (Don't know if this is an unpopular opinion tho, but I saw some people justifying it 😐😐😐)

4. DAZAI IS NOT EVIL. HE IS FAR FROM EVIL. He is, despite being super popular and the face of BSD, the most mischaracterized and villified character. Morally grey characters exist??!!!

5. Mori is a way worse person than Dazai ever was.

6. PM members get a free pass for any heinous crime they commit by being hot or babygirl-ified (still love them tho, we do not often discuss how bad their actions have been, you can like criminals and acknowledge they are criminals in fiction. I would add DoA to this too, but it's worse with the PM)

7. Akutagawa's abuse of Kyouka shouldn't be forgotten just because Dazai abused Akutagawa.

8. Mori emotionally manipulated and abused Dazai when he was a teen. Just because it wasn't physical, doesn't mean it was nothing.

9. Atsushi is NOT a soft boy, he is way bitter, salty and sarcastic than we give him credit

10. Poe is important to Ranpo and their friendship/relationship is wholesome as hell

11. Ranpo and Yosano's friendship is way better than them being in a relationship in the future

12. FukuFuku is better than Fukumori (imo!!!!)

13. Buying real authors work after watching BSD is actually a really good thing, since more Gen z kids (or other people) will read classics

14. There are layers to Atsushi and Akutagawa relationship/rivalry, and they have the MOST important relationship (not meaning romantic, just in general) in the entire canon.

15. Kunikida and Yosano could be a power couple

16. Fyodor is not a great villain (yet)

17. Nikolai CARRIES the DoA

18. Sigma shouldn't be in the ADA, he needs a happy home, family and some time to adjust to normal life

19. Q and Elise are both underused characters and could become a great dynamic

20. Ango deserves more love, the amount of pressure and stress he deals with is INSANE

21. It's OKAY if everyone joins the fandom for Dazai or skk (I did at first too!!)

22. Higuchi is annoying as hell. I do not get her hype, I like her but not as much as most people (just personal opinion, do not flame me 😭)

23. Everyone in The Guild is forgettable or boring (except Fitzgerald, Poe and Lucy. I like Louisa, but I forget her all the time)

24. Hetero ships are just not that great/interesting in BSD to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ (except maybe AtsuLucy or rare pairs) and female characters are not best utilised, I wish they play more major roles (can't wait for Agatha to arrive!!)

25. Some fan theories/arts get the story better than "canon" stuff at times. Fanon is NOT always the worst (sometimes enjoyable when the canon gets too dark or sad)

26. Toxic ships are okay in fiction as long as they are legal. Humans like toxic things, we consume it like junk food 💅🏻

tamlin “trapped” feyre after all negotiations broke down with the certainty of knowing feyre would endanger herself and others temporarily

from the wu this fandom talks about it you’d think he’s mother gothel but like. it was only until he came back. it wasn’t like he had her isolated, restricting access to who got to see her. he offered to invite her sisters - she was the one who said no! i really don’t see how it’s comparable to feyre + the ic making nesta stay on a remote island for what it’s worth with two near strangers who she has little to no positive associations with if they can’t be considered the cause of all her trauma in the first place (in that they are fae etc)

whereas nesta’s sentence (bc let’s face it she was sent to azkaban as punishment with a fun caveat like “you’re free if you can cross the sea! and manage to maintain a sense of identity while around guards who remind you how terrible you are of course!”) is indefinite and it’s pretty obvious from everything that comes after that it’s just something she’s expected to make the best of as opposed to something that can get better with time.

and cassian being her jailer whose amicability she has to earn by performing rigorous physical activity she had no interest in even if she grew to love it.. i wonder if she’s had that experience before

You know I restrained myself from posting more on this because I’m such a hater sometimes lol, gotta focus on more positive things sometimes but... I’ll get this out of my chest.

I wanna preface by saying I do not care if people like Cassian/Nessian, truly. I even like fanon Cassian and fanon Nessian. I also have seen very little people that like Cassian bashing Tamlin (probably bc of my filters and just the type of blogs I follow bc I do love them all) BUT☝🏼 what I do see is a lot of “Disclaimer: we know Tamlin is an abuser” on Tamlin neutral posts (when no other character gets that treatment) or using Tamlin as a cautionary tale of how he treated Feyre and then praise the other “mates” for being “the right ones” and treating them correctly or something, which does annoy me a bit, but alas.

In my opinion yes, you are right, what Cassian and the Inner Circle did to Nesta is a million times worse than what Tamlin did to Feyre, but nobody, nobody considers Cassian’s actions in Silver Flames as bad as they actually are. Nobody considers him an abuser like Abusive Tamlin™️. When talking about what Nesta has endured in SF people put all the blame on Rhys and Feyre (which yes of course) but they forget Cassian was also there, willingly.

I’ve seen people use the argument that both Nesta and Cassian treated each other poorly in their relationship, but I have to ask… what did Nesta do to him that’s worse than what he did… intentionally. She was mean to him and called him bastard like four times? And only when he trespassed her boundaries. Somehow this is comparable to him being her jailer, taking her to train in the middle of Illyria, being a dick when he knew she was struggling, telling her everyone hates her and he cannot understand why her sisters love her, controlling her food intake as if she’s a gym bro or something when she clearly had an eating disorder, not telling her that Feyre was not mad at her and letting her BREAK while making her carry a huge backpack and forcing her on a hike not talking to her for days, to the point she fainted and fell on her face near a cliff?? (this because she made Rhys mad). Anyway the list goes on.

And you know what I don’t care if people like this guy after all this, but it is just funny how somehow Neris shippers are the “morally dubious” ones lol (and don’t get me started on Tamlin stans aka the devil worshippers), because Nesta said she “deserved Eris” (as a punishment), babygirl your WHOLE relationship with Cassian has been a punishment, for what sins you ask? Being mean (as she should) and spending the High Lord’s coin.

And what makes it worse is that the narrative will always favor the Inner circle, Cassian will never pay for what he’s done the way Tamlin has (and still is) he will never even apologize because he was “holding out his hand” or whatever bs that was. (Honestly if I get proven wrong and he does pay and apologize then I may give him a chance, but I highly doubt it)

You know what obnoxious thing I keep seeing in fandom I wish would stop? This absolute need some people seem to have for their ship to be Representation in some way. Shipping is just imagining scenarios between two characters! You don’t need it to be a Special reason or whatever? I have a ship that is popular and people make weird vague comments about how the fandom is racist because both of them are white and there are other ship options that have poc so the white ship being big is a reflection on how racist the fandom is but the thing is…

Look I’m going to be real with y’all the fandom is for the game Detroit: Become Human and let’s just say the two major black characters are basically stereotypes written by a neocon lib boomer in a story that itself is imho…let’s call it tone deaf and corny af rather than overtly racist but yeah. Black folks on twitter regularly mock this game for good reason. It is very much a boomer white man’s idea of the civil rights movement but with robots. The robots sing actual slave hymns. The main character is essentially a light-skinned Martin Luther King Jr (dubbed Markus Luthur King by blktwt lol) and the religious allegories of him as a savior figure are very on the nose. It is bad lol. It’s not that I wouldn’t want to explore the black characters but the fandom is full of young white people singing the praises of this writing while patting themselves on the back about it which is genuinely uncomfortable to be around. Just my 2 cents but the virtue signaling and insane policing around those two characters makes it unbearable to interact with their content it is deeply sanitized and you WILL get death threats if you attempt any nuance or are critical of the (kinda racist imo) way they were written in canon.

The worst part of this is that Markus has a popular ship with a character a lot of people read or interpret as a more soft or femme gay man and you know what zoomers hate? Femme gay men. So obviously this is made to be ‘problematic’ in some way because these people can’t just admit to being femmphobic/homophobic themselves.

Sometimes it’s easier to stick with the boring white characters in the background because they aren’t being closely guarded by stupid reactionary people who are used to flashing their favorite fictional poc characters as tokens of their own goodness and virtue.

I watched some playthroughs. Unsurprisingly, I liked the buddy cops with the good development, not the cringey activism plot with too many foils and not enough development of any single relationship and not the the Women Care About Babies plot.

But if I were going to do something fannish with Markus, I'd write him having a fucked up relationship with his mentor's son post game—the surrogate son who thought the guy was great and the estranged son who knew he wasn't but who has also done a bunch of shitty stuff himself.

It's especially hilarious when tryhards think the problem is not enough people shipping Markus with North as if the slashers are going to be into 1. het and 2. yet another unnecessary traumatic sex stuff backstory for a lady.

Even worse, half the whining isn't even about that Nines fanon nonsense being more popular than Markus: it's about how Markus/Connor would be better than Hank/Connor because old people are ew.

oof man i have enjoyed destiel and cas a great deal but the more i rewatch and explore meta lately the harder it is to see any of that as actually any good for dean. even from a platonic perspective. like all of the heavy lifting is always on him and cas is just.. so terrible for and to him so much of the time - sometimes unknowingly sure but largely with full awareness and he never apologizes or grows from any of it in any kind of meaningful way which makes even his (arguably) good intentions meaningless. the highs can be so high don't get me wrong but the lows are just egregious. and constant. most of the time it feels like cas exists entirely to either create new problems or make existing problems worse lol idk just venting i guess. cas is a great character and i love how messy he can be but he gets off way too easy in canon and especially fanon imo.

i probably wouldn't go so far as "terrible" but that's just me! i would say that a lot of the specific issues cas has lead him to actions that activate dean's specific issues. the big one for me is cas needing to feel worthy and capable, which leads him to do things on his own pretty frequently. that is absolutely understandable and valid for him, and i don't want to criticize him for it. it just happens that this is varying levels of upsetting to dean because he cares about cas, worries about cas, and doesn't want cas to leave or be silent for extended periods...which cas often does.

where i will criticize cas is how no matter how many times dean begs cas to keep him in the loop or hell, just even pick up the phone every once in a while, cas never really changes this behavior. i think there are a lot of issues between dean and cas that are caused by different needs or unintentional miscommunication of those needs, but this stands out to me as an area in which dean has a specific need, he communicates that need clearly, cas clearly understands the need, and cas ignores the need.

i do agree that cas is less apologetic than he could be and does not meaningfully grow in terms of some of his most harmful tendencies. i'm like, 50/50 on whether that's a cas issue or a writing issue. i think it's probably both, but the balance shifts day to day for me honestly. also i think you could make an argument for this problem being one that is manufactured by chuck, if you wanted to. but that doesn't make watching it any less frustrating.

cas creating or exacerbating problems - i hadn't thought about this! i think after s6 this tends to be more of a writing problem than a cas problem, but i do see what you're saying. and that makes it even worse in that basically cas sees himself as an eternal screw-up, and the events of the show don't do a lot to contradict that. it's possible that cas thinks the one thing he didn't screw up was dying to save dean, and that fucking sucks. that sucks hard.

cas getting off too easy in canon - agreed. and i think it's partly because dean almost always forgives him, very easily. i think dean acts as our emotional conduit for the show, so if dean forgives cas, we're supposed to forgive cas. and he almost always does! cas getting off too easy in fanon - EXTREME agree. i'm expecting angry anons just for suggesting cas sometimes does things wrong lmao.

now, here's why i still love destiel and always will (and if this doesn't work for you, no worries! just my two cents). i think all of their issues have a simple, if not easy, fix: time and space. if they could just stop running, stop feeling like they're under attack from a million different angles, take a second to breathe and think and reflect in safety - they could address a ton of their issues. a lot of unintentional miscommunication happens because they're in a hurry, or they get interrupted, or because there is something so pressing and urgent that they can only talk about plot-specific information and anything else feels extraneous. if they get a second where they can sit down and say, hey, this has been bothering me, can we talk? they can address it.

i think for a lot of their relationship dean is so scared of cas leaving that he leaves many things unsaid, afraid that revealing too much will scare cas off. but after 15x18, when he knows for sure that cas wants to be with him? i think dean would find it much easier and less scary to talk to cas about how cas' actions affect him. i also think cas would be more willing to listen and understand dean's feelings, and to talk about his own feelings. i really believe they could make it work if they weren't constantly in crisis. and we have only ever seen them in various levels of crisis.

I know dunking on Zutarians is fun and all, but can we please talk about Tyzulaians? Cause they are almost as delusional, if not more than, Zutarians. Maybe they might have been friends when they were kids, but all of Ty Lee's interactions with Azula in the show are clearly that of someone deathly afraid of their superior snapping, and therefore kissing ass much as possible. For fucks sake, the advice Ty Lee gives to Azula during that Ember Island party in regards to getting boys is what she uses to placate her. And even though basically every single piece of post-Sozin's Comet media has all but said that she loathes Azula to the point that she eventually overcame her fear of her so she could hunt her down, Tyzulaians still cling to their ship.

And have you seen the ridiculous handwaving they do in regards to Azula's dream world showing her have a male love interest? I've even seen edits on TikTok where they blurred out Ruon-Jian.

I am always down to call out the toxic Tyzula shippers, and have done so on this blog several times.

I've seen everything you're talking about more times than I can count. The lesbophobia accusations, the copium, and essentially gaslighting themselves into believing their ship is/was canon and that Azula is 100% a lesbian.

Just today, I witnessed them claiming that SOKKLA is a self-insert ship beloved by men who identify with Sokka. Probably the worst case of projection I've ever encountered in this fandom, considering Tyzula shippers are pretty much all just baby gays self-inserting as either Azula or Ty Lee (usually Ty Lee). From what I've seen, Sokkla shippers are mostly women so we're definitely not inserting ourselves as Sokka lol nonsensical.

"Just write a self-insert, you cowards!" - decries a discord user named "Azula kisses women". Absolute clown shoes.

Their favorite thing to do though, aside from going out of their way to bully people who like other ships, is deny canon by saying Azula's interest in Chan was "comphet". Yes, comphet is a real thing but can we be honest with ourselves and say that was not the intent of the writers? No one was gay in a 2005 children's cartoon. And even if Chan was comphet, where does the supposed interest in women come in? If anything, this is an argument for her being asexual or aromantic, because Azula has never shown romantic interest of any kind toward another girl.

But when you criticize this and point out the obvious flaws, they again just say you're lesbophobic, which is their go-to when someone doesn't agree with them.

Honestly, at this point they are just as bad as Zutara shippers, if not worse. And you know why they're acting this way? They're losing and they know it. Sokkla grows stronger by the day, has the best fics and art, and a thriving, supportive community. They're lashing out because they feel threatened... which is actually insane, considering neither ship is canon, and shipping isn't a contest. It's supposed to be fun! Tyzula shippers are straight up ruining the Azula fandom with their toxicity.

I feel like there’s a lot of “peer pressure” to fit in with fandom. To agree with all the in-jokes. To subscribe to all the major fanon takes. To conform. To become popular and well known by giving the people what they want. And of course what has the most mass appeal is also the most generic and inoffensive.

The cassettes being boiled down to generic children despite defying almost everything about their canon versions is easier to digest. It’s easier to see short robots and immediately assign them children and their big bot as “parental figure”. It’s easy. It’s mass appeal. It’s generic and inoffensive to a larger audience. And this happens in fanon all the time. Deliberately ignoring everything interesting and different about canon…for worse.

I’m all for “fuck canon” but sometimes canon is…interesting lol. And “fuck canon” is more fun if it’s about exploring something interesting more in depth or taking a sensitive concept that canon butchers and doing it more justice. Not flattening characters into the tropes of the first impressions of themselves.

That’s just my opinion though. I know sometimes easy and simple is fun and all. I just prefer like. Trying something new. Being inspired by the actual source material instead of a watered down parody of it. And I honestly think fandom would be more fun if more people stepped outside the box with their creations.

Like. Canonically, this guy did the same shit Futa did. He was PART of the harrassment the last victim suffered. He played a role in her death, and what did he (and the rest of the friendgroup) do? Dogpile Futa next and blame him entirely for it.

Could he feel guilt and remorse over it now? Maybe, but to act like he's any better than Futa and like they wouldn't have a terrible relationship feels like too much fanon getting on the way— Not to even mention the fact that Futa implied he saw these people more as friends than they probably ever did, and judging by how easy they turned against him... It's most likely the case.

Truth is, neither Rumerie nor anyone in the friendgroup cared about Futa. It was never this genuine bond of mutual respect like Futa probably believed. On his own words, they had fun sometimes, but he can't even call them friends at this point. Cause he was the only one that saw friendship there.

Knowing all this, I repeat— I don't get the ship. There's like, two Futa ships I'm ok with, but even the other few I don't like I can kinda see where they come from because I don't struggle to find that possibility of mutual respect within canon characterization... This one I just can't get behind, nothing about it tells me "ok, yeah, not my thing but i get it", and the more I think about it I just get angry at rumerie lol

The reason i say i have like seven different versions of UF on rotation in my brain is because there are several different Styles of UF that i really like and can never really decide on which I'd consider my Main one, on top of also Lore, which i have a few different ideas for, too.

So like, we have the one i talk abt most often probably, which we'll call AngstFell, because. I'll be honest i love angst and i love doing terrible things to characters. This is the one where they have core issues, supply issues, food shortages, LVlost culling, very complicated and sort of miserable relationships between just about all of the characters. No One is having a good time pretty much, but despite everything, there is still hope...

Then there's how i often mentally refer to it as SillyFell, which is basically just like. If everyone in UT decided to try to be mean and was mostly really bad about it. In this one, things are still generally worse, but having LV is still somewhat uncommon, mostly only guards would have it, and people are generally more sad than they are mean/angry.

And then we have what's probably """closest to canon""" as far as my understanding of it goes, where it's sort of somewhere in between the two prior ones, in that there's definitely still silliness, and their UT selves aren't too far removed from them, but it still can get pretty heavy, and problems aren't as surface level as Silly.

Then we have my """fanon"""fell which is essentially something I've done for most AUs, where i try to imagine circumstances that could possibly, believably (by my own standards and interpretations) make the characters behave more in line with fanon portrayals. This one's way more difficult to summarize since the changes are more character specific, but generally, as far as "seriousness" goes, it falls in a similar place as "Canon"Fell.

And then there's Tale to Fell (v.1) which is essentially based around the idea that UF kind of started as UT, but slowly became UF due to Circumstances like core trouble and slightly different events going down with the humans, both during the war, and with what happened to Chara and Asriel. (End results are similar to "Canon"Fell)

But there's also Tale to Fell (v.2) which is based on the premise of UT slowly becoming UF after Frisk has fallen into the underground due to waaay too many resets and gradual code fuckery. (Opposed to v.1, this is actually a concept I've never seen explored before! Not to say it isn't out there somewhere, but i have a rough draft layout of a potential fic abt it that will...probably never happen bc it would take a lot of commitment lol)

So we have those bad boys, but then there's also differences depending on Lore. Like there's one version i think of sometimes where Papyrus is the older brother, or a version where Gaster didn't make Sans and Papyrus but was actually their adoptive uncle, and another with Gaster Papyrus where, as it goes, the incident that "shattered" Gaster created Papyrus, one where Undyne knew the bros as kids briefly, one where Asgore's just Terrible for like, no real reason, like. There are a lot of ways to think about it!!

And that's not even taking into account all of the Fell based story ideas like the psychonauts one, the one where the bros are gb shifters, one where Papyrus is [redacted], one where there's a zombie like plague outbreak that can only affect monsters with LV, one where Frisk winds up living underground with them all for a Hot Minute, and then of course there's the AUs, like Vesselfell, Horrorfell, Heartfell, Lovefell, Invertedfell, Orangefell, that mysterious one I've been mulling and have not talked about at all with Albatross-

Hey I’m that whiny anon that went on a lil’ rant lol. People are basically saying that billford is canon actually based on that one clip that you posted where he talks about their relationship. Or another recorded version of that clip anyways! It’s more funny to me now honestly that people are using this clip to try and say “canon” and yet most people are willing to happily ignore the “plansexual” joke in the bob. Not even to say that means Ford is 100% unquestionably ace, bc it doesn’t, but it’s just funny what people so happily overlook! Anyways I truly adore anything you ever have to say on bill and ford’s relationship I feel that it’s probably one of the most accurate interpretations out there.

Yeah, I mean people pick and choose what they want to hear, that’s very normal. That ship is popular and those people are the loudest, and asexuality is unfortunately not really cared for that much.

I don’t think any relationship in the show is canon (except the cops haha) and I prefer it that way because I don’t really like romance in stuff like that. I like it in fanon more. I mean, I ship fiddauthor but I’m not going to tell people they’re canon just because Fiddleford does a bunch of things that I believe show his love and care towards Ford (and there is a lot!). My perception of love is different from someone else’s so they might not see it that way.

And I hate to be that person but media literacy is also at an all time low too and people will hear ‘relationship’ and immediately ascribe it to romanticism or sex, which in a lot of people’s minds is more valid or entertaining, as opposed to platonic or friendship/familial.

Shippers (especially younger people) can be known for being loud and obnoxious with it sometimes (not all, obviously!), I know I used to be one of those people too, and people get swept up because the internet is anonymous so you can say what you like. I think that people also consider their ships an extension of themselves, so disagreement feels personal.

It sucks but fandom has always been like that. I think maybe it’s worse now for a plethora of reasons a lot of other fandom members have brought up (I’ve seen some great discussions on tiktok actually, of all places).

You just kind of have to curate your own experience in fandom and make friends with the people you agree with, and block keywords or people you don’t care about. That’s why I don’t believe in ‘proships’: it’s not real people in real world situations and I don’t need to tell someone not to follow me if I disagree with them, I just ignore them.

🍓: Does your OC have any particular scents they like? Or hate?

Nyenna finds calm in floral smells. She's known how to make soap, skin care and hair care (such as it is) from flowers and plants for a very long time. In Whiterun, lavender is pretty easy to source and very inexpensive, so that's a favorite scent for her.

She is terrified of bunches of skeevers gathering around her, even though it's not the kind of fear that will make her run away from them. But they gross her out worse than even undead thralls, especially ones with all kinds of obvious rotting happening. So the unique stench of a pack of skeevers will definitely be something she hates probably above most other unpleasant smells.

Teldryn won't tell anyone this because he prefers to complain about smells rather than compliment them, but he likes canis root tea just as much as Neloth does. (In my hc, canis root tea is simply the Tamriel equivalent of chicory coffee.) Geldis pretty much always makes it for him whenever he's stuck at the Netch, but he buys the pre-ground stuff. Neloth's people make it all freshly ground, which smells infinitely better. But either way, canis root tea is the best smell.

He hates when anyone, even himself, starts to smell too much of the road -- so really, of unwashed bandits. I don't need to go into why. He once left a patron because the man refused to bathe!! The nerve of some people, really. The unwashed smell kind of lingers in certain slums he's been through, and it just does not sit well with him and he will absolutely let everyone know exactly what he thinks of their lack of personal hygiene once he gets annoyed enough by it.

🍕: How does an OC spend a lazy day?

Let's pretend Nyenna lets herself have a lazy day. Someone has hidden all her books and ledgers so she can't study or plan. They've stopped her from training or running errands, so she's not about to craft anything strenuous. Maybe she gets to stay home all day for once. IF that was the case, she bakes! She doesn't always stress bake. Sometimes she just likes to make good food for her friends and family. Generally her favorites to do are nice, easy peasant bread or snowberry crostata, but she's open to other recipes. (Like this one for Jazbay Crostata, for instance.)

Teldryn is similarly restless, but perhaps not to the same degree as Nyenna. He's pretty socialization-averse, so he'd certainly not end up in any kind of party, perish the thought. He doesn't have the time or focus generally to read much. Finding new material that isn't boring as hell isn't that easy these days, but when he gets to Whiterun, he finds some good things to steal from Nyenna's collection. I think he'll definitely read The Locked Room for kicks, though he's almost certain he read at least most of it before. (I swear I've seen someone write him reading it before lol so it's fanon now) And for the record, if Nyenna figures out he stole the book from her collection, she'd absolutely spoil the ending. He'd deserve it. But yeah, if the book is good enough and he is given the chance to actually rest, he'd read for once.

their ages are never actually explicity stated in canon

their heights are pretty much meaningless. the tiny toons cast are meant to be teens yet are often half or even a third the size of bugs bunny. he's also small for the record, like many other adult toons

playing child or childish roles on the in-universe show is similarly meaningless. older kids/teens are easier to direct than younger ones (though the warners are difficult at times lol)

they constantly break character and the fourth wall in ways that betray older sensibilities, taste, and knowledge

having pitched-up voices isn't an age-specific thing for toons

in the reboot their voices aren't even pitch-shifted, making them sound older

the teen-level potty humor and dirty jokes (do you remember being 13? i do. if you think some of the innuendos in animaniacs are bad, i can guarantee you real middle schoolers were/are far worse)

wakko drinking grog. his 'liquorice' [liquor-ish] problem. also stating he'd 'try anything once' (bet he enjoyed woodstock lol)

i think people mistake wakko's wackiness and earnesty for stupidity and youthful ignorance. fanon really flattens him to just being 'the dumb cute puppy' sometimes

i don't think a case really needs to be made for yakko. he's the archetypal teenage boy character in many ways

in the end it doesnt matter a ton to me? im still gonna play around with their ages in fic like always. this new teen hc mostly informed how i see wakko and dot now, because they start making a lot more sense in my head

ive also started taking a liking to the 'wakko and dot are twins' headcanon but that's for another post
