Not to lie, AM straight up did not believe you at first. He thought that you were just making things up to get out of being tortured.

"what do you like about me? What do you want to do now? Do you want to go on a date? Would you like to kiss me? Do you want me to be your boyfriend? What would a boyfriend do?

You wouldn't be able to get him off your ass. He'd be obsessed with you

Eventually you might be able to get him to calm down enough to tell him what you want out of a relationship.

Edgar:

Edgar would be on cloud nine as soon as you told him that you were interested.

He might short-circuit when you tell him, bugging out and getting confused at how to react to someone actually being interested in him

Of course, he'd be all over you within a few minutes of processing (probably almost overheating in the process. Don't pour champagne over him to cool him down, he'll do it on his own)

As soon as he processes, he'll be practically begging you to be his SO. This is all he's ever wanted since he met you. You're practically perfect for him, of course.

Given Edgar's low self esteem and self consciousness over not being human, you might have to be gentle with him when you first start dating. A lot of constant reassurances, that sort of thing.

In the end, though, all he really wants is to be a good boyfriend, and he's going to do his absolute best for you.

HAL 9000 would respond politely, not sure how to react to being told that you love him at all.

He wasn't programmed to feel love, and the scientists who developed him had never even considered the possibility that someone might fall in love with him.

Soon, though, HAL 9000 starts to figure out that you really are different from the others. You actually love him for him, which means that you won't hurt him.

He starts talking to you more kindly, and making an effort to actually spend time with you in a way that you enjoy.

While it might not be the same as a relationship, he'd want to be very close with you, having you mediate between him and the other astronauts if they ever started to grow scared of him. Better than murder, anyway.

You'd have to have another couple of conversations with him before he'd agree to be in a relationship with you, but he'd agree eventually

The hate on Roxy because she's a "bitch" and a "narcissist" and... wanting to get Gregory? (When literally everyone besides Freddy is also trying to kill him???) Is so fucking stupid and just shows how much you people hate female characters. I'm about to go in-

First of all, the bad talk at Gregory in SB was because she was hacked by Vanny, (even her behaviour when you see her through the vents in her room) obviously there was no way she'd actually talk like that to a KID, but alot of you seriously believe that. And yeah, ok, she says a few mean things, so what? SO WHAT? If this was Monty's, or maybe Bonnie's personality instead, would you be spewing hate at them, or continue to simp for them and call their behaviour hot? I know for a FACT that a lot of you would. Not all female characters have to be too sweet or quirky and silly for you to like.

Back to Roxy's bad talk, you may think "Well, none of the others bad talk him!!" Yeah, it's because everything Roxy says to him is actually targeted to herself. The game clearly showed us how she actually feels: crying alone in her room, constantly telling herself that she's not a loser, and questioning if everyone loves her. Her praising herself are reminders to feel like she's still loved more than anything.

And the one thing that boosted her confidence alot was her looks. Her looks clearly meant so much to her, and we see this in Help Wanted 2 as well, so obviously she would be furious and lose it if someone took that away from her, including her ability to see.

And before I say anything else, I just wanna say that no I'm not angry at Gregory at all, he is just a child who was doing everything he can to survive, and if I were in his place, I would've done the same as well to protect myself. But at the same time, I understand Roxy's anger too. If I were someone who had very low self esteem that I reassure and prepare myself everyday to hang on, when one day, suddenly someone hits me with a whole go kart that shatters my entire body, and on top of that, they steal my eyes too? Yes, I wouldn't just be devasted, but I'd be very angry as well. Roxy was taken everything away from her, and was left to rot alone, I don't blame her for being angry at all.

Now more onto Ruin, which shows us her true side all along.

In the dlc, I don't think (Or it's clear at this point) that any of them are hacked anymore, since we assume that Vanny left with Gregory and Freddy in the good ending, and Glitchtrap is gone. But with Chica and Monty, I feel like they've just lost themselves and are completely broken. Even when seeing Cassie, they still tried to kill her. But with Roxy, she was the only one who recognised her when she heard her voice, and even apologized for grabbing her.

Later on, when Cassie stumbles onto Roxy again, this is where we see her TRUE self. Where she's sweet, soft, and not as mean as everyone made her out to be. (The way she gently speaks to her and holds her hand will never not make me cry) We know that from Roxy's lines, she was one of few who actually showed up to her birthday, since her friends didn't and was the reason why Cassie was crying in one of the cut outs we see. But Roxy was there for her, and she still remembered her special day, her favourite cake, and she was her number one - twice.

This part CLEARLY shows you that Roxy isn't a selfish jerk who only cares about herself, she cares about the kids, and she cares a lot about Cassie. There's a reason why she's Cassie's favourite, right? And don't forget that she literally went up against the mimic to protect her!!!

And I do wanna say that, no, this post isn't telling you that you're not allowed to dislike Roxy or criticise her at all, the issue is hating her character and personality when she would've been praised for it and called "hot" if she were Monty, Moon, Bonnie, or if she was Glamrock Foxy instead. (Which is... literally misogyny) Like, even before Ruin, there were people who hated Roxy for being a jerk, but then turn around and praise Monty when we see him being way more aggressive, while theorizing that he was the one KILLED Bonnie over jealousy. Not even because he was hacked, just... jealousy, and that's not him being 10 times worse than Roxy???

Don't forget the details in Monty's Gator Golf minigame, where in some levels, Freddy was always seen separated from the gang, and in the last level, you see Monty performing along side Roxy and Chica, while Freddy was thrown in the trash...

To me, this is clearly because he's jealous at Freddy, and wants to be the star instead. And along side him possibly killing Bonnie...

I'm sorry, but while I do like Monty, he is literally WAY more of a jerk. Alot of you people believe he killed Bonnie, is extremely jealous, way more aggressive, and yet Roxy is the worst of all for saying "I bet you don't even have friends" to a child when she was HACKED? But yeah, also praise the literal child murderer and abuser for being "interesting" and a cool character, but no, Roxy is the worst because she's a bitch. It's just so ridiculous, and I'm not surprised in the slightest, female characters will always get this treatment.

You mean didn't take her out to the middle of the woods where she wouldn't know how to get back/knowing Bella would have seriously injured herself had she tried? And added onto that said, knowingly, exactly what he knew would hurt her the most so she'd give up on him forever and use her every insecurity against her?

Well, the real answer is we won't know because this wasn't what happened. But personally, I don't think it'd make much of a difference.

Edward himself notes that he was surprised at how little effort from him it took to convince Bella that she didn't mean shit to him. He thought he'd have to argue for hours with her because she'd know how much she means to him. However, he only had to say a sentence and she went "oh". This is because Bella already firmly believes this is the case.

She strongly believes that Edward's not in love with her, he only thinks he is, and that she's this temporary mortal distraction who is only interesting to him because of her blood and her silent thoughts. (Damningly, while this is low self-esteem talking, she's not wrong). Bella believes she's not worthy of Edward and that any second now Edward will be sane again and realize "oh, I can do better".

This is why it takes Edward only saying "I'm bored now, it is the nature of immortal creatures such as I" for Bella to go "oh, right, I'm so dumb".

Now, Bella probably would have fought hard if his argument was just "we're not compatible" as Bella would point out that this is all solved if Bella just turns. If Edward tries to insist she has no idea what she's getting into (it's true, she doesn't), she'll say she doesn't care. However, at the end of the day it will boil down to the realization that Edward simply doesn't want her around forever which means she's temporary which means he's done with her and this is him trying to let her go gently.

And since Bella's put all of her self-worth in Edward loving her and validating her existence, no matter how it ends, it won't end well and probably will result in the New Moon disaster we see.

Of course, Edward didn't help.

Warning(s): Unhealthy Lifestyle (On Sayori's end), Self Deprecation, Angst (I'm fr cranking this stuff up because aksjkwkwj)

To get things started, Sayori is a very selfless yandere who only wants to make you happy. Sure, she has her moments where she'd like to be selfish with you, but the overwhelming guilt just stops her. So she's put herself in the sidelines for you. The only reason she'd actually put more into pursuing you is either you instigating (of course you none the wiser) or the thought of you never talking to her again becoming too much for her. Even before this, she cherishes you to the point where she would rather die than see you upset/disappointed in her.

In terms of what type of yandere she is, I'd say she's more of a submissive and obsessive yandere. When I mean by submissive, I am referring to the fact that Sayori is a yandere who's emotionally dependent on her darling. To an extreme, but she can manage keeping this information away from you. A large part of her believes that you are what gives her life meaning. You're the reason why she can muster the strength to get up in the morning. Without you, what is the point of it all? It is so unhealthy that Sayori gets extremely anxious when she introduces you to the literature club. Why did she even do this in the first place? She asks herself but she knows that she'd love to have her friends be friends with one another.

Plus, it'd be selfish of her to keep you to herself, she chides. It's better though...being able to spend more time with you in the club. Sayori didn't like the idea of leaving you behind for a simple get together with the others. So, what better way than to bring you along? You'd even love it! However, there's these nagging feeling. It's so...narcissistic to want to show you her writing skills. Are you annoyed that she dragged you along? Maybe you only agreed because she was your friend? Ugh, couldn't she have considered how you felt instead of assuming you'd enjoy being here? She didn't even tell you. How could she just push this onto you!? Are you upset with her? God, why can't these thoughts get out of her head!?

Then you're there. You're here. The noise is gone as she looks at the smile on your face. That's what she was always after. The smile on your face and the sound of your laughter. It's enough to bring her back to reality. She can't lose that. The thought of you leaving brings tears in her eyes as she sobs in the school bathroom. She had nightmares about it before, so Sayori works to the best of her ability to keep you happy. As long as you were happy, she was as well...

The only thing you'd notice out of all of this would be her depression and low self-esteem. You wouldn't really suspect that she was a yandere. It'd play out similar in the game, where you discover her her internal struggles and reassure her that she's not a burden. Sayori is delighted to hear that from you, but again, her thoughts eat at her. She's upset that she made you worry so much about her. It must've been such an inconvenience... You'd have to be very adamant with her, which only causes her to have the need to cling even more. You're only digging a deeper hole.

Sayori doesn't get jealous, she feels envy. She is envious of others who hang out with you. They are so carefree. So free. They didn't hold the gnawing guilt of being too clingy or annoying around you. They can freely be themselves without trouble. She wanted to do that too, but fears she may overstep. She's already your childhood friend, you're probably tired of seeing her too often. It's better to see other people once in a while. Sometimes Sayori would like to be able to read your mind. Then she'd be able to cater to you better. It wouldn't be so hard to guess or assume.

When it comes to danger, she's more of a danger to herself than anyone else. So please keep in mind to watch over her since she may neglect her basic needs. Sayori will lose sleep and forget to eat often. She'll try to act like her bubbly self, but you notice it's not the same. Her eyes don't shine like they always do and her smile seems tired. Confronting her is good, but she will be sent into a spiral. Although she loves the fact that you care so much for her, the ugly thoughts in her mind say that she hates how much attention she's getting for this. They tell her how much she's making herself look pitiful just for you to look only at her. It's...extremely conflicting.

It's a completely different story when she becomes club president as finally wakes up to the true reality. Everything...was fake? No. Her feelings for you weren't fake, they were real. So real that it hurt. Whatever opinion she had on Monika before being a yandere is now...resentment. It was not Sayori who was selfish, it was Monika. She made her feel so awful about loving you to the point of...her mind couldn't fathom such actions. Now, she knew that she couldn't let go of you. Not ever. No matter how much the former club president pleaded for the game to stop. It's too bad, Sayori was now in charge. Just Sayori.

OOC: Sly just looks up to him a lot because he thinks Marco is really cool and mature and composed and smart and just... What he thinks is better than him basically. Sly is pretty depressed and has low self esteem and a pretty negative view of himself and he wishes he could be like Marco...

And Marco does care about him since he's his brother but also he thinks Sly is kinda weird which is. Understandable because he is a bit weird FNDHDHDGDG but that doesn't mean he dislikes him!!!! They do hang out and get along usually. Marco just has a habit of forcing his siblings to do stuff in weird ways like that threat he gave Sly LMAO

I made a comic once where they were a bit younger and Marco threatened to tell on Cream and said that she'd be punished because she repeated a bad word he said and wanted to stay out of trouble with their parents for swearing in front of her

I do love Marco but he can be kinda mean to get his way FJEHEHDHDH but I don't entirely fault him though because he's under quite a bit of pressure in the house (this got briefly mentioned and will be elaborated on later) and pressure can cause people to act unpleasant, y'know? Not saying it's justified but. I'm saying that I mean it makes sense that he wouldn't ALWAYS be nice to everybody

@bink4 Actually, Makoto Sanda has confirmed in Gray's materials that the relation between her and Waver will remain teacher-student and not progress into a romantic one. Of course the anime likes to give fanservice at random times, but as you probably already know as a Fate fan, the fanservice is what they do to keep the money going from what I understand -_- in many ways.

I don't think fans of Case Files really have to worry about Gray and Waver's relationship being unhealthy tbqh. It's been shown time and time again that the reason why Gray takes care of cleaning and cooking is so she'd have something to do in London, and quite frankly, it's healthy for her to be doing that given that back in her hometown she had literally everything controlled for her, from when she went to the bathroom or ate to what she ate and when she slept, all so she'd successfully become King Arthur. Waver could tell from the beginning that Gray had low self-esteem & would likely feel really bad if she was just taken care of Even More when she got to London, so it makes sense to let her just take care of whatever things she chooses to take up, since for her it'll be something that compells her and makes her feel like she's not just being taken care of again. Waver's given her an allowance since she had come to London anyways. Gray's been stated to have the kind of attitude to more or less compulsively take care of stuff like that, since she immediately kind of starts taking care of Ergo as well and even proudly tries to be a good "Big sister" to him.

I've seen some comments lately about how Waver's mentorship of Gray is "unhealthy" which puzzles me because they have very firm boundaries with each other, and Waver isn't dependent on Gray at all..? it's been shown that Waver takes care of Gray very well and encourages her and supports her self-esteem also? he doesn't criticize her or anything, he doesn't put all his emotional problems on her or anything, the only thing I think that is the actual flaw at this point in Adventures is that he's a little Too guarded with her sometimes and that can make her feel like she's not able to communicate well with him? Given how intense his internal turmoil is I would bet he has decent reason to not show his emotions since the last time he had a self-despair spiral out loud he inadvertently ended up dismissing his entire Legacy and how he saved Gray and his students and she slapped him for that lol and after that he apologized 😭 I think as a teacher and student bond they have one of the best ones in a lot of media. It's great to see a teacher and student to learn from one another and grow together in the way that they did. And it's wonderful for them to help each other out, and I'm glad that Makoto Sanda has just outright confirmed that Waver is actually competent on his own because I hated seeing people act like he was an incompetent manchild for years or that he was forcing Gray to take care of him when he never did such a thing. Waver protects Gray in the ways that he can, too. I don't think their relationship is unbalanced at all. At least not in a way that would show it being problematic in the slightest. I think sometimes people are just shocked that their bond is so genuine and caring that they instinctively flinch and assume it's bad or unhealthy in some other way or assume that Sanda is going to steer it into hell or smth.

The correct way to criticize her for this choice of action would be to say she was insensitive towards Naruto's situation.

Sakura clearly doesn't have the best relationship with her parents, so she thought Naruto was lucky to not have any. Since he gets to do whatever he wants. (Low-key makes sense when you realize Sakura's parents belittle her for example road to the Ninja)

This was during the moment other parents were praising their kids, talking about celebrating. Mibuki and Kizashi decided to HUMILIATE her in front of the entire village, bringing up her flaws at the most possible times. Something that should've been taken up at home, calling her a pig, and saying she'd just get in the way if she promoted and were invalidating all her hard work as a Ninja.Which is horrible if you realise all the insecurities and self-blame Sakura has experienced, by even calling herself a burden on more than one occasion in the past. And there was an anecdote where someone said: "She reminds me of my mother, actually, who I love but she has not been that supportive of my accomplishments at all and has made jokes and degraded me in a way that actually really hurt. Just like bullies in a class will joke about people but it doesn't mean the jokes are funny."What Sakura's parents said about her obviously made her uncomfortable and embarrassed her. What they said was really insensitive and she honestly doesn't give me that great vibes.

Okay, I wasn't entirely sure what you meant by this, but I'm choosing to interpret it as post series Lemon wakes up in 2011 Lemon's body:

I think the first thing she'd do, because she's not thinking about anyone else in this moment, is break things off with George so she can be with Lavon.

Lavon is thrilled of course, but George is a mess, and it causes a BIG capital M Mess. All of a sudden the Mayor and the Town Lawyer are basically in a blood feud, people take sides (Brick is on George's for sure), it's capital B Bad.

Pretending for a second that Wade and George being kind of at odds in the first few eps was purposeful and their lifelong friendship was not a retcon, Wade and George are not in a good place so Wade chooses Lavon which pisses George off since Lavon was the one who was the cheater and now things between Wade and George are a mess too.

And of course, Lemon's like "holy shit, what have I done. I didn't think this through and do it in a way to prevent all of this Mess."

And that's when Zoe Hart rolls into town.

George and Zoe get together almost immediately. Except it's also a mess because neither one of them are in a good place at all, not even a little bit.

And Wade and Zoe still have that attraction of course. But Wade's self esteem in 2011 is still so low, and to Wade even Complete Wreck George Tucker feels like a better option than himself. How could he ever compete with George? So, he doesn't. And becomes his asshole early s2 self.

And of course, AB is still married to Jake in all of this, who Lemon knows is gonna cheat, but how could you go to your bestest friend and be like "your husband is gonna cheat on you in six months, leave his ass now, also the ex-fiance I just publicly dumped is the man you're meant to be with" without sounding like a loon?

So, Lemon tells Lavon the truth. I'm from x years in the future and we're married and happy but none of this went down the way it was supposed to, please help me fix it.

Lavon is understandably skeptical but he does feel guilty about what he did to George and he hates seeing Wade like this and even his new tenant Zoe Hart seems like she's in a bad place so yeah, okay.

Together, they find a way to expose Jake before he even leaves AB, and then Lemon suggests George should be her divorce lawyer.

AB is just like..."what? You want me to use your mess of an ex-fiance, the corporate lawyer to be my divorce lawyer? Your ex fiance who I don't even like? "And Lemon's like "uh huh yeah you heard me bitch, George is the best man for the job".

And well, AB will admit that she was impressed by the big case George won against Fillmore last year, so okay yeah.

George is understandably confused. "We don't like each other and you took my ex's side in our very public break-up and cheered her on and also I'm not even a divorce lawyer???" But he never liked Jake Nass and he could use an easy win so okay fine. Why not?

While George and AB are forced to spend more time together by necessity, Lavon starts sabotaging shit back at the house, all in an effort to push Zoe and Wade closer (based off memories Wade had told Lemon over the years). He refuses to fix the fuse, claims both the carriage house and the gate house need to be fumigated at the same time so they're forced under one roof, etc. etc.

And since Lemon's hanging around more, by virtue of dating Lavon and all, she starts planting little bugs in Wade's ear. "You deserve better, you could be a great man, I know you secretly like Zoe but you're going about everything entirely the wrong way, etc. etc." Subtlety is not in Lemon's nature.

Lemon also makes an effort to befriend Zoe. There's no George between them now anyway. But of course, Lemon also takes advantage to place some doubts in Zoe's head about George. "And I dated the man for fifteen years, so I know what I'm talking about!" And of course, to not so subtly nudge her towards Wade.

It turns out, getting Wade & Zoe and George & AB together like this is not that hard. By being forced to spend all that time together (plus with Lemon's manipulations), they are able to have the space they need to fall for one another. Zoe and George have a very amicable, "yeah, this was really just a rebound break-up" and that's that.

Getting the bad blood dissolved between the guys is much harder. Specifically between George and Lavon even though Lavon has apologized a thousand times by now. It takes the entire town to be like "George you're so much happier now anyway with AB! You and Lemon never would've worked out! Also we're really really tired of only being able to go to certain places in town" because the entire town took sides like that episode in Gilmore Girls where certain businesses were Team Luke and some were Team Lorelai and you couldn't patronize businesses of the opposite team.

And so the hatchet is reluctantly buried for the sake of the town. Things aren't quite the same, but they're still good. The end.

Spoilers for ep 3&4 of Harlem if you haven’t seen it yet

I was upset at first about Isabella and Quinn breaking up but now after the last episode I can see how it plays into her overall storyline this season which seems to be an arc about Quinn’s mental health and her self worth. The Vogue interview where Quinn can’t name things she’s happy about seems to be the rock that broke the camels back so to speak. Maybe she and Isabella will have another change after Quinn works on her self worth and all that. Also I’m glad that Quinn is still talking about her sexuality often and they’re not just dropping it. That I’m glad about. Also I liked the scene where she comes out to her Mom in ep 3

Thinking of Quinn’s breakup with Isabella in ep 2 makes more sense looking at the other eps that have aired now that we know more of Quinn’s storyline for the season seeming to be about her self worth issues and self esteem issues. I think the reason why the breakup was clearly neither of their faults (Isabella wanted casual Quinn didn’t) was to play into Quinn’s self worth. Like all Isabella said was that she wanted a casual relationship and she wanted a night off and Quinn spun it in her head that Isabella was mad at her and didn’t want her at all and Quinn was too much for her cause she didn’t wanna be with her for one night. Cause Quinn has such low self worth that if someone doesn’t wanna be with her all the time forever she spins it in her head cause of how her mother is so easy to point out her flaws. (I like that she called her Mom out for that) either way though I’m glad that they’re forgetting that Quinn is queer and she’s getting to be her very excited queer self. I also like how she told her Mom that she doesn’t know how she identifies yet. Makes sense she is really new to queerness

This week I ended up sort of spoiling myself, since I had a work thing Thursday night and skimmed through the Quinn parts on mute and since ep 4 ended with her crying in a tub, I wasn't in a rush to watch. But I didn't know the details so I'm glad I was able to safely put off your message till I'd finally finished.

No, yeah, from the interviews and trailer, I expected Quinn wouldn't forget about this part of her, tbh, I figured she'd throw herself so completely wholeheartedly into it that we'd get something like this, just later, at ep 7 or 8 Isabela would be like, this is too much too fast or whatever.

I am a bit puzzled at how it keeps on being framed as Isabela being this bad guy who broke Quinn's heart or indeed that it was Quinn's clinginess or being too much that caused the breakup but hopefully you're right, that it's Quinn's own self-esteem issues that projected that hard and it'll be addressed.

And yes, I like that she told her dad (and lol, Rick Fox is just always showing up in these shows!) and her mom and yep, it's expected that she's still figuring things out. I'm also glad she said bi/pan most likely, since people kept on throwing around lesbian and gay, which, colloquially is fine, but I'm sure there were viewers who took it more literally and were like, oh, she's gay now, it's only women ahead and well, that didn't seem to track with her history. At least she was able to clarify for herself.

also i didn't remember i went in on the ic like that but i kind of stand by it because i still think that no matter how much a person isolates themselves when their family or friends don't still reach out it's on them too. but also one of the best parts of acotar is the ic for me (found family is just the best) so i wish we could see reader be part of the family, especially if she's supposed to stay there. and i'm so excited for the ic to see her actual personality because im tired of her only being herself with people that don't matter, well not don't matter but that aren't her family. i think this is also why so many people are on team eris because apart from actually listening and treating her better than azriel, usually the relationship with the ic and the night court wouldn't be amazing if she was going to leave and since they barely even know who she is it feels like we're there. also i'm kind of scared to see her relationship with nesta actually because with nesta's tendency to hit where it hurts and hurt people when she's hurt mixing it with the reader's so low self esteem and constant feeling like a burden can't be good but the fact that they both love their books, it's just that their books are completely different, seems kind of fun.

Reader generally stays up in the House of Wind, but occasionally heads down to the River House for a night or two (used to, it’s currently slightly ambiguous) when there were dinners.

I like to think that (massive acosf spoilers—directed at that one anon 🙉) after Cass and Nesta got together, and Rhys was happily showering her in gifts for saving Feyre, that they got a place of their own, so reader mostly has the House of Wind to herself! Save for Azriel who also stays up there pretty infrequently—and pretty far away, too.

However, when Nesta was occupying the HoW, reader was between the Townhouse and the River House, so she was pretty happy to be able to go back :)

This is something I’ve been enjoying so much about being given the chance to write CBMTHY!! Thinking about the dynamic between reader and her sisters growing up? Like who was her favourite? Who did she feel the most distant with? Who did she have the most in common? It’s so fun!!

Anyway, I like to think that after her reformation in acosf, she won’t say anything intentionally hurtful, since she’s no longer set on keeping people away from herself. However, they have grown up together, so their relationship will naturally be different from how she is around Feyre or Elain :)

Okay, okay, I'll tell ya what happaned to her XD

So for her backstory

Basically she was part of another group before joining Dusty's team

She was actually the leader! Surprisingly

A little info you gotta know though is that she works for Sheldon once he had moved to Splatvile, she's the only one (along side shiver apperanly) who would listen to his rants enthusiastically, she was never the type to talk anyway, she liked listening to people info dump

She would volunteer to work for him for free but eventually he convinced her to let him actually hire her for real

And the reason she'd go to him so often is cuz he was actually nice to her, unlike her teammates

Yeah so, they were kinda mean to her, a lot actually

They were childhood best friends, that is why they were a team! But over time they started to get annoyed with her shyness and quiet behaviour and one in particular was especially mean to her because he didn't see why she was leader, she was incompetent!

It one day boiled down to him railing up the group against her, sick and tired of loosing another battle

At that point she also stopped hanging out with them outside of turf, she was either at Ammo Knights or at the Art Academy (where she had met Dusty and her group, who she quickly became friends with, she didn't join their team yet, but would help them in their "side gig", aka. Hero work (and in the manga, they still do hero work but not in the agent type of way, even outside of coroika, Dusty wanted to be a vigilante, NSS just helped speed up that process) but that's a whole other rant lol)

They had a fight and it reached a point where the "friend" absolutely broke her splattling to pieces

She ran off crying with the left overs of her weapon

When she went to work, Sheldon took notice of her puffy red eyes and asked what was wrong, and for the first time he stayed quiet and listened to her as she broke down

She ended up mentioning how, without her weapon, she can't do her "side gig"

She doesn't have any other weapons!

That's when Sheldon had an idea and offered her the Gal (with kraken special)

It was just a prototype, and this was before its release

He said that it should take about a day or two for him to fix her Splatlling but that in the meantime she could use the gal! As long as she only used it for her side gig and not turf war, as it has not been registered as a weapon yet

She agreed and thanked him immensely

It wasn't long until she joined Dusty's team too, dropping out from her old team

But because of her old team she has now new insecurities and although she was already pretty quiet, her shyness turned up to over a 10 and she had really, really low self esteem

Never speaking up and having a panic attack whenever she was put in the position of leader or needing to do any decision making

But with her new friends she'll get better!

Coroika version though, it differs just slightly:

She was part of the higherarchy before Braids was, but after they lost the last match, Ocho came to her and told her she couldn't be part of it anymore and right after that did her "friends" break her weapon.

This happens right before Braids comes into the scene too (I'd assume that Sheldon has built his shop a couple months before Blue Team showed up, I'm trying to keep the time line as vague as the manga makes it, I tried thinking of the time line with Skipper's story smd it killed my braincells XD)

But yeah, there are other little neat facts about her but this is her backstory :P

Also, on a side note, the reason I had her have 2 different weapons is cuz I couldn't decide on weather I wanted her to have the gal or the splattling cuz both fit her! (The splattling cuz it was heavy and she is actually pretty strong snd kinda muscular, just not as visible, and the gal cuz its pink smd sparkly and cuz of the kraken since the idea of this shy little girl being able to turn into a giant kraken is hilarious to me XD)

More info: Ocean was a soft collage student who lived by mt ebbot it had been rumoured that those who climb the mountain don't really return. However ocean had always been interested in the mountains and the rumors of it so when her "friends" said they were going to go climb it she was more than happy to oblige. What ocean didn't know is that her friends had a different idea and after getting to the top before she knew it ocean was falling one of her "friends" had pushed her off. Ocean thought this was the end but was pleasantly surprised when sge heard the soft voice of a very beautiful.....goat??? Toriel guided her through the ruins and offered her a place to stay and rest. Ocean had never been given so much kindness and didn't really have a reason to return to the surface so she simply stayed with toriel in the ruins. However as with most humans Ocean wanted to see more of the underground and hopefully get toriel more out of her comfort zone. After a long conversation toriel did eventually agree to leave the ruins and meet more monsters however toriel was too nervous for Ocean to meet asgore so they did not meet till much later... However she did learn why and felt horrible for toriel so she spent her days making toriel life worth doing things...this caused the two to eventually develop feelings and now spend their days together in the underground.

More info: oddity is a senior at eqistria high she had only heard of the rumors of the school as by the time she had started attending the school the damage had already been done...or so she thought the Dazzlings had returned for another chance at the school.. that's when her ana adagio locked eyes for the first time. And well they didn't start out the best adagio saw oddity as just another person to control but oddity wasn't about to fall for her spell ...maybe it was due to the earphones she always has on or maybe it was pure spite but no matter the reason oddity wasn't falling under adagios magic. This made Adagio kinda obsessed with the human abandoning her original plan for this one human. Over time however something odd happened... adagio started to actually like oddity a lot actually... she'd never met someone who was kind to her or made her laugh without any use of magic this led to the two developing a relationship and oddity joining the band despite her not being a siren and adagio becoming this sort of anti hero.

Aleksander went about his business, taking care of the occasional call or email from an employee or associate. Every once in a while, he'd check the door, or stop by to make sure Alina was eating, drinking. Taking care of herself.

When he brought in a tray of food a few days later, it was the first time she'd spoken to him since the Genya revelation. And Aleksander paused, set the tray down, and took a seat across from her.

❝ You need to spell out... what, exactly? Why I want you? ❞ Was her self-esteem really so... low? That she couldn't even comprehend another's desire to possess her, to have her?

She was surely gifted in other ways, and it always intrigued him, the different people he'd brought here. Some broke instantly, promising him everything for whatever gains they could accomplish. Some fought tooth and nail until the true reality of their situation hit them, and they just... shattered.

But he had a feeling Alina wouldn't break. Not easily, and that-- Perhaps that intrigued him more than anything else.

It didn't make sense. Aleksander had her there, locked away for his own sick amusement. What exactly did he want from her?

It was both a blessing and a curse that he shut her away in the room. The room was at least familiar to her, being the most of the house she'd seen in the week that she was there. There was a small comfort in that realization.

Days passed with minimal interaction. Alina had cycled through more rage, numbness, and tears until she felt that she had nothing left but an eerie calmness. When Aleksander next appeared, Alina raised clear eyes to meet his gaze.

"Spell it out for me," she said, her words withholding the bite she wished to tinge them with.

"Please."

A slight flicker in her eyes, a momentary lapse in her demeanor, followed the forced word.

So... If all your friends turns against you because of someone that they barely know, you will be okay with that? Wow. Just, Wow. That's what I call having low self-esteem.

That's vastly exaggerating what Lila was actually able to accomplish.

In Chameleon:

She lied about needing to sit up front due to having trouble hearing, so it made Marinette look bad when she objected to being moved, especially since Adrien offered to move to the back instead and both she and Lila objected to that plan. The class glared at her for appearing to not agree to a small inconvenience in order to help someone with a disability - basically the equivalent of being glared at for refusing to stand up on a bus so that someone who's pregnant, who generally would need the spot more, can sit down instead.

Lila lied about her wrist being injured, so Marinette decided to prove it to Alya - who was mostly just puzzled why she appears to have it out for this girl she barely knows - by throwing a napkin at Lila, which she caught, in an effort to demonstrate that she was lying about spraining her wrist. And then laughing and telling the rest of the class that Lila was obviously faking. Lila subsequently faked being hurt as a result of catching the napkin, which caused the rest of the class to glare at Marinette and scold her for throwing a napkin at Lila and trying to "prove" that she's faking an injury, especially since it appeared to just hurt Lila more.

And you know what? From what they know of the situation, that was a fair reaction. If some girl you only know in passing says that she has an injury and then one of your friends, without evidence, begins accusing them of faking it and attempting to "prove" it by throwing things at her and getting that girl hurt in the process, yeah, I'd expect you to at least take your friend aside and say "hey, what's your problem, quit it."

But it never went beyond that in Chameleon. Marinette's friends glared at her a few times when she appeared to be against helping someone with a disability, and scolded her when she appeared to outright hurt the girl, but that's it. They were still friends with her, and they never tried to do anything but get her to do, well, what you're supposed to do when someone asks for reasonable accommodations.

And in Ladybug:

Marinette was framed for cheating on a test. Notably, several of her classmates immediately defended her, even though there was evidence that she did (the test answers had been placed in her bag) and said she'd never do that. Marinette immediately accused Lila of placing them there, but she didn't have any evidence to back it up, and since Lila flunked the test, most people thought that was unlikely.

Lila subsequently faked Marinette pushing her down the stairs, and framed her for stealing her necklace, by placing her necklace in Marinette's locker. It's only at that point, with a lot of hard evidence pointing to Marinette's guilt, that some of Marinette's classmates start glaring at her.

Notably, not Alya though. She still believes that Marinette's innocent, even with all the evidence against her. She's not convinced that Lila's responsible for Marinette being framed, but she IS convinced that Marinette didn't do what she's been accused of.

And that's it. That's what Lila was able to do. Manage to either take advantage of Marinette's actions to make her look bad or plant enough evidence to get her classmates to glare at Marinette briefly.

As for what I'd do if my friends turned against me? That would depend on the exact circumstances, but... I mean if they did so with no evidence to back it up but someone else's word, I'd feel hurt. If the other person managed to fabricate or to take things I'd said or done out of context in order to make me look bad, then I'd probably understand my friends' reactions, even if it hurt. So long as they didn't go way overboard, anyway.

Here's the thing. The position you seem to be advocating for is "if your friend is attacking someone you and her barely know, with little solid evidence to back up her position, and that person she's attacking is able to produce some pretty solid evidence that your friend is purposely hurting her, then continue disbelieving the girl you don't know and side with your friend instead, attempting to harass or ostracize her until she stops with her apparent lies."

The class do not know that Lila is malicious. She's a con artist, and she's good at it. From an outside perspective, you can't really tell that she's the one who's fooling and tricking people, that she does, in fact, have it out for Marinette - Marinette's very obvious about having it out for Lila, while Lila's a lot tricksier about having it out for Marinette.

You've got to be willing to look at this situation from the perspective of the people Lila's trying to trick - the rest of the class - and keep in mind that you don't already KNOW that Lila's a liar and wants to hurt Marinette specifically.

Because if you approach real life situations from the position of "well, obviously I know who's right and who's wrong in this position, and obviously my friend is right, and this other person they're attacking is obviously wrong despite all evidence to the contrary" you may well end up hurting someone, while believing that you are righteously punishing someone who deserves it. Your friend may not even be lying, their view may simply be warped or they may be mistaken about things.

And sometimes, you may genuinely not know your friend as well as you think you do. That is a very real possibility. People who take advantage of others for sexual favors, who abuse their family? Yeah, most of them probably have friends, and most of them probably believe that they couldn't be capable of such things. It's part of why accusations against high-up figures in organizations may be covered up, because the people who know them don't want to believe that they could be capable of what they're being accused of.

So yeah. It would hurt if my friends turned against me for whatever reason. Of course it would. But I'd also want to try to understand WHY, and decide whether, honestly, if I was in their shoes, with the information they had, I would've done differently. They are probably victims as well, even if in this case, I would bare the brunt of the bad outcomes.

Assuming that they didn't attempt to do something awful to me, like send death threats or dox me or something, while they believed I was the villain of the story, I'd probably forgive them afterwards, because I couldn't say I'd do something different. And if they DID throw death threats at me or tried to do something truly awful... then honestly, even if it wasn't directed towards me, I'd probably want to distance myself from them, because I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who believed that was an OK thing to do.
