😮 i have to find a new toner

i wondered how ethical snail mucin products were so I GOOGLED IT

and apparently instead of these lil guys just having an orgy (i previously believed snail mucin was cum) THEYRE BEING STRESSED OUT AND THEIR SECRETIONS COLLECTED

this is not vegan or fun or fresh

so if anyone in the skincare community has any recommendations for toners for bitches with dry, sensitive, acne prone skin (i liked snail mucin because it was hydrating) PLEASE LET ME KNOW

I struggle with body dysmorphia, what I see when I look in the mirror doesn't feel like it's really me. And I don't like what I see.

It's been bothering me since I was a young child, the disconnect between myself & my body. I'm very self conscious and critical about the way I appear.

I'm also non binary. So it hits on a whole different level. But explaining my gender is such a complex thing.

At the end of the day I find dealing with societal beauty standards more upsetting to myself. I'm AFAB, I'm plus sized, I'm more leaning towards feminine presenting simply because I have long hair and feminine facial features. Not necessarily in the way I dress.

But, growing up being told I was a girl, the societal beauty standards of what it meant to be a woman affected me greatly. They've stuck in my head and they've made me so uncomfortable in my own skin.

If anyone has any tips or advice please DM me, I'm really looking to move forward through this. And to anyone else going through the same. My heart is with you 💜 it isn't an easy battle.

I love trying to find tips for skincare and such and people say "Exfoliate and moisturize" and all that and then I look up how to do that(because no one taught me, for obvious reasons) and I get people saying to just, do it??? preventing premature aging 🥥🤍

great question! i'm also working diligently to prevent premature aging in my twenties and i've been using all of these products for at least 3+ months and have noticed a huge improvement on my skin.

morning routine + products:

cleanser: la roche posay purifying cleanser

toner: the ordinary milky toner

vitamin c cream: twent1 saffron + squalane radiant cream

vitamin c oil: twent1 vitamin c enzyme oil (SO good and very lightweight)

spf: supergoop glow screen

evening routine + products:

cleanser: same as above

toner: same as above

moisturizer: cerave daily lotion

retinol: twent1 indian bakuchiol oil (this is a retinol alternative and it’s just as effective imo).

extra helpful skincare tips:

facial steaming 1-2x per week (i like to steam with matcha powder and himalayan salt after i cleanse)

putting an oil on AFTER creams. oils don't hydrate, they seal.

learning to sleep on your back. i like to put 2 claw clips on each side of my face to avoid me rolling over to the side!

taking a collagen powder in my morning smoothie.

doube cleansing with my cleanser. i don't buy an oil cleanser.
