How were BBC Sherlock shippers so rancid about a WOMAN who wasnt even in the SAME SHOW?????

Martin Freeman of BBC Sherlock insulted Elementary and specifically Lucy Liu in the press. He straight up called Lucy Liu a "dog" in an interview APPARENTLY as a joke, because calling female actors ugly is hilarious. Benedict Cumberbatch was more measured about it, but he still said he was cynical about Elementary because it would lose the "male friendship" dynamic, which of course Johnlock shippers used against Joan Watson fans. Even the lead BBC Sherlock actors got in on the yaoi victimization of Joan Watson... 😔

she wasn't even in the same SHOW as the yaoi I've been convinced she deserves to win the entire poll. I was a Johnlocker but I did watch the first season of Elementary and it was fine????? It was totally okay????? Especially in hindsight given how hard Sherlock season four flopped. Also Lucy Liu is a queen and deserved zero vitriol for *checks notes* playing a character???? A fucking fictional character???????? Oh my god we were all SO mean to this show and we (or at least I) thought it was like The Good Fight™️, like we were defending BBC Sherlock against copyright infringement and straightwashing and Jonny Lee Miller's bizarre scarf, (it wasn't a good scarf I do stand by that) but then Elementary didn't make Holmes and Watson a couple either???? And also it didn't insult its audience constantly etc etc we've all seen the Hbomberguy Sherlock is Garbage video. This is really long sorry hashtag justice for Joan Watson.

Misa Amane

she gets treated in-canon the way fandoms treat female characters that Threaten an m/m ship. it's like, "oh why don't you go sit in the corner and be pretty, misa, while the Men have intelligent conversation and pretend they aren't ten seconds from fucking each other, doesn't that sound nice?" it's infuriating. and MAYBE it's better now but i remember her getting treated the same way in fanfiction too, like we all need to do just as badly by our female secondary characters as fucking tsugumi ohba, but with the added insult of making her be alternately oblivious of the relationship between light and L or actively trying to sabotage it—incompetently, of course, because god forbid misa be allowed dignity or moments of cleverness.

she's one of the first characters I think of when I consider old school fandom misogyny. The annoying bitch and clingy crazy gf allegations were AFTER HER ASS. She's also a lot more intelligent than people gave her credit for, but most seem inclined to take the Very Biased word of our unreliable, narcissistic narrator and his homoerotic arch nemesis and claim that just because she's bubbly and into romance that she's also a complete moron. Which is blatantly untrue. Everyone was afraid of Misa girlbossing too hard. Killing people and devoting yourself to the deranged twink of your dreams even though you know he'll never love you back??? Having a hardcore goth aesthetic and being so Hot even literal Death Gods are into you?? God forbid women do ANYTHING!

Not only is she the victim of yaoi culture, she is the victim of early 2000s misogyny by an author that wanted to introduce a girl character because he knew his male rivals were getting too homoerotic. She is a goth bimbo icon who portrays what I think is one of the few callouts for stan culture and what parasocial relationships can do to both the stan and the idol. The fact that she is a toxic fan of Kira and also hot, funny, sociable is tragic in its own way, which I think the author did try to touch on but was too misogynistic too really get through. Of course, she was reduced to villain status by the fandom and anime alike because she got in the way of the supposed romance in their psychological horror anime.

it’s 1 am and I’m having a brain blast so here’s the moriohpsycho (aka insano crossover ship bateman x yoshikage kira) au plot line…

So in dis post kira is a new hire @ pierce&pierce cuz he had to flee morioh on acct of almost being found out and Patrick literally almost had an panic attack simply from looking at him at a meeting (Kira’s awful lilac suit gives him hives.)

Basic au plot:

IDK if kira is gonna have killer queen in this au I shall see where the wind takes me…. Anyways so later on they have a meetcute at a dumpster in an alley- both dumping a body 😭😭they get into a scuffle here(aka about to try and kill eachother)☠️ but then kira is like wait aren’t u Patrick Bateman and Patrick is like FUCK bc he cant remember Kira’s name😭 they hear police sirens close by(unrelated to them lol) and flee.

at this point patrick is spiraling and is wondering if kira is even real since his coworkers hardly talk about him- and going to work the next day they see eachother and kira doesnt say anything about the night before😭😭 anyways- so during all this kira is quietly freaking out about being found out and having to run away AGAIN and finds Patricks addy - breaks into his apartment - is hiding under his bed about to try and get Bateman reimi sugimoto style, Bateman wakes up to take a piss- kira slices his leg- bateman freaks out (heavily due to the fact about wounding his perfect skin), sees kira, remembers his name this time, and then they start to struggle fight AGAIN.

During the fight Patrick throws Kira into the fridge, causing it to open and all the ziploc baggies of body parts Patrick has in there spill out onto the floor and onto Kira (also some hands too) and Kira takes a moment to be like . Ok wait so you really are doing this shit too huh ☠️ and then they have a weird…very thick air tense moment before kira goes back to trying to kill him bc oh ur a threat to my quiet life blah blah I’m not gonna let this happen again like in morioh (he accidentally admits that he fled the country bc he’s an idiot) and now uh oh they have incriminating blackmail against eachother!

Another reason kira is pissed at Patrick is because he’s taking all the people HE wanted to get to first and just in general being really sloppy and attention seeking abt it 😭😭 so kira tells him and Batemans like wtf are you gonna do about it I do what I want LOL and Kira’s like ERMM then I’ll tell the police and Batemans like ERMM uno reverse I’ll do that to you so now they’re in another weird spot and begrudging compromise somehow to “share” as long as they try not to hurt or ruin the other. And then from there they get Real Weird with it

Out of order since I’ve had a couple of days to think about stuff and yet still going insane over it all, includes thoughts and just moments I thought were cool, spoilers below!

- The mole has to be Caspian, the connection he has with Edyn, how long he’s been with Lizzie, his sister being one of the Elders? It has to be him and that makes me sick, I love him so much, if he betrays them I’m gonna cry

- “I love you Jay” “I love you Chip” broke me, I absolutely adore them and the fact that the party has split scares me so much

- Queen hugging Chip goodbye broke me a bit too, I’m glad they’ll be safer but just everyone having to say goodbye to each other was So Upsetting

- Pretzel going with Jay too :(((((, she’ll be safer that way but :(((

- After hearing Lizzie’s in danger Chip wanting to immediately abandon the Black Sea and finding Arlin just to save her killed me a little, that’s his sister, he just cares for her so much, Lizzie please stay safe

- Chip and Gill’s conversation and Gill urging Chip not to throw himself away and to do this as a crew was so well done

- “I thought you hated Lizzie?” “I don’t want her dead?!” Jay Ferin you’re so cool

- Chip and Gill immediately falling into chaos as soon as Jay left was on brand though, made complete sense

- Chapter 69, I cannot believe it took Grizz 40 minutes to write that

- Drey staying with the boys to find Arlin, just Perfect

- Going into the hole and Chip hearing “welcome home”

- Drey not being there when they started to search in the hole

- Jay possibly reaching out to Kira for help against the navy

- Jay taking most of the crew to Canella for safety

- Chip not being able to read the celestial on the tablets but Jay could

- Arm wrestling with Jug!!!!

- Jug not being a hollowed?????

- Fish n Chips was crazy this episode

- Chip disguising himself as Captain Rose and just running around and getting in Jug’s face yelling “PIRATE” “GET TO THE HELM BOY” was so chaotic but on brand, loved it

First off if this is referring to just their current time period then yes I’d probably agree BUT since it’s a show and I think the creators were making a clever nod towards other shows I’d like to point out some things

Both Spock and McCoy are divorced (McCoy twice over)

Whatever was going on between Spock and Chapel ???

Kirk is apparently too committed to the enterprise (yeah definitely the ship… nobod-nothing else) to commit to any of the women that he has definitely fucked

Kirk didn’t commit to Carol Marcus and she had his son

Almost every character is dating each other in this show and they made it canon for several but they all fall apart (Except Rom and Leela cause they’re perfect)

The O’Brien polycule… I drew it out but it got more complicated than the O’Briens (basically Julian is best friends with Miles who is married to Keiko. Keiko was on a shuttle while pregnant with Julian and Kira when there was a crash and Julian had to transfer the child from Keiko into either him or Kira, so Kira volunteered. She ends up living with the O’Brien’s while carrying the child and bonds with both of them (to the point both she and Miles think it’s weird). Kira eventually gets with Odo who is Quark’s nemesis and Quark is crushing on Jadzia who is exes with Julian who is (somewhat unknowingly) courting Garak. Jadzia Dax becomes married to Worf but I think her and Sisko have definitely fucked. Sisko is married to Kasidy and enemies with Gul Dukat who reciprocates that but is also fixated on Kira who hates him. Did I miss something?)

Now, I bet they did not count DS9 in their statistics because it’s a station not a ship but also because they’d always win this contest

To be honest Lower Decks is maybe the most outright vulgar in its language but most of the time it’s a feel good show about a bunch of best friends. Their captain is married, their CMO and head security officer are in a (happy?) relationship, and third thing here.

I haven’t seen any of Voyager or Enterprise and I don’t think Discovery is that horny/romantically uncommitted

Our genius Banshee Queen, Lydia Martin, is our character of the month for September!

For this entire month, the goal is to create rarepair content that includes Lydia. These can be romantic, platonic, sexual, familial, etc. Any kind of relationship welcome. Ditto for the medium. Wanna write a fic? Please do! Fanart? Yes. Mood boards? Absolutely! Be as creative as you want!

I just finished Voyager like a week or so ago. (I don't remember when exactly. Time is fake.) Plus I've been hit with another bout of writer's block. So I wanna talk about star trek. Tuvok (Yall the way he was when young and working under Sulu versus how he is now as he works with Janeway, oh man, the growth!)

Kira Nerys (She's done so much, but damn it she's not gonna stop working towards what she thinks is right.)

Jadzia Dax (Sometimes the writing does her dirty, but she's so amazing the rest of the time. So confident, ready for any challenge, and she knows what she enjoys and isn't scared to have fun.)

Hoshi Sato (Listen only just started Enterprise and she's so amazing. Love how she's struggling with this mission she basically had no time to prepare for. She deserves the world. Her and Mayweather are so interesting and fun to watch!)

“Roommates.” Stiles hisses and Kira just shakes her head.

“It’s easier to share than try to find a place of our own!” Scott tries to convince Erica when she asks why the three of you always come out together.

“Wait; you share a bed? All three of you?” Boyd and Derek spend three minutes laughing and another five trying to tetris the three of you onto the imaginary queen bed you all share.

“They can’t do it without touching; they have ot touch...”

“What’s wrong with platonic cuddling?” You snap and Stiles agrees.

“Yeah, nothing wrong with that; or platonic morning wood; or the occasional threeway as long as you don’t kiss; or the occasional kiss as long as you use protection or the-” Issac and Theo are grinning at each other.

“Will you all fuck off!!!”

“I believe you.”

“Thank you Jackson! Can’t believe I’m saying that.” Scott and Stiles slump a little relieved the teasing is over.

“I mean you really think Stiles could keep his mouth shut if he ever got a chance to score with his two top crushes?”

“His what?” Scott’s eyes widen as he turns from Jackson to Stiles and back again.

“I take that back; I hate Jackson the most.” Stiles deadpans and you can see Derek sliding Malia five bucks.
