Hey guys, if you could pray for me and my parents I'd be really grateful. The last cat in our old brigade, Tansy, is almost 15 and at the end of her days. She tends to get sick from allergies during the spring and she's had a rough winter and she's just, she's not going to make it through this time and she's been SUCH a good cat her whole life that we're not gonna let her suffer through it to the end. We're hoping we can get an appointment to get her put down tomorrow (that sounds awful saying it, but she's miserable and I can't watch her suffer she doesn't deserve that), so we would really appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

headcanon that children of athena do have powers. it's just that of spiderman. but due to their arachnaphobia. they refuse to acknowledge that side of their god-given abilities and rely on intelligence and strategy to survive.

No, because I've already talked about this to the Discord besties but I'm still vibrating over the fact that Percy didn't just sacrifice himself for Annabeth, he outsmarted her. He tricked her into letting him be the one to stay behind that's such an amazing detail

I fear no one can beat Aline Penhallow in the loving and supporting and defending her wife war.

Me: *starts explain a bunch of canon lore for DC*
My mom: "Holy shit. None of that happened in the (live-action) Batman movies."
Me: "Exactly!"
~10 minutes later~
Me: "And then this wild thing happened!"
My mom: "Of course it did 😑"

It's "the Stark sisters have complementary skillsets" until someone points out that Arya is good at math and Sansa isn't. Then suddenly Arya is an unreliable narrator, Sansa is just being humble, and she'll magically have that skill if/when it becomes relevant

i think it's very funny with how people interpret ryo as a character because it ranges from "really cool rock chick magnet" to "stupid and scummy" to "extremely emotionally complex character with a colorful inner bubble" like. yea, she's autistic!!!

when you think about it clive and flora are actually perfect narrative foils on complete accident. like what's up with that. professor layton and the completely imagined literary devices
#what did they talk about when they were alone for that one segment of uf . . . humming#i'm sure this post has been made before by someone more eloquent but i don't shut up. ❤️❤️❤️#it's like the fact that they both lose their parents at a young age#both are succeeded by a large fortune#both are incredibly insurmountably lonely in a way they are not equipped to deal with#both develop poor coping mechanisms (though one notably more poor than the other . . . el oh el)#both develop a one-sided codependence on layton (or rather. more like the Idea of him. the concept he represents)#they also both spend a lot of screentime poorly disguised god bless ❤️#flora just seems to shrink inward while clive. Well#flora is seemingly willing to accept any type of mistreatment so long as she's told she won't be left alone again#whether because she can't bear the alternative or if she genuinely believes them every time is debatable#she's fine with being temporarily abandoned because she is used to it. as long as she's kept around some of the time she's fine#but clive internalizes every slight and files it away in some increasingly grandiose and frankly childish revenge fantasy#on a small handful of people that HAVE wronged him and a couple hundred thousand that never will#everything he sees is taken as proof of a worldview he doesn't even seem to necessarily hold himself#that at the end of the day is simply a manifestation of a seeping debilitating loneliness#they both have people that care for them. but not really in the type of way they need or want#i have more to say but . . . alas. not intelligent enough for it#my point: both of these characters ard the same coincidence? i think not. Transgender;#t#professor layton

okay so now that i’ve officially finished watching leverage i just want to say that maybe i’m obsessed with this show on multiple levels and something about how it hits so many itches in that it’s about found family and it’s about fucking over bad, rich guys (no billionaire bootlicking in this show! and i fucking love it) and it’s also about how sometimes the bad guys are the only good guys you get and it’s also about how we are all stronger together it’s about how at the start of this show, we have all of these characters who are largely used to working alone and being alone and yet the show concludes that ultimately, we are better when we are together and by being together, we might be able to leave something behind that is bigger and brighter for the next people in our generation and no man is an island and no person is meant to beat goliath on their own or whatever
#caroline talks#leverage#not to be like. emotional but.#i am emotional actually!#i'm just. i get emotional thinking about all of the characters#and just how complex they are#nate with his alcoholism and his rage against the world and how he's arrogant and angry and sad and yet i think he cares so much#he cares so much about his team even if he can be a bit of an ass#sophie who adopts a million personas at the blink of an eye and yet has her own loneliness about who actually knows her#parker who keeps herself closed off bc y'know trauma in the foster care system and yet she learns to express herself and trust people#eliot who resigns himself into thinking that he's a monster and yet he starts to do some good and just. winds up protecting everyone in his#new family which. MAN i can't express enough how much that storyline means to me too#like when is a monster not a monster? / oh when you love it or whatever#and then there's hardison who's so incredibly bright and warm and can talk his way out of most situations#and then he hits a wall when all that brightness and wit and intelligence still might not get him out of a scary situation#and that's. that's when he needs people too. that's when he needs his team#and like. there are so many important points in this show#but like one of the ones i like to think about.#is just like. that you could be incredibly good at whatever it is you do#but you need people. you need a team. you need to trust others and together you can do amazing things#individually they're great#but together they're unstoppable and i think about that a lot#no man is an island and it takes a village or whatever!#also unrelated but i also find it a little funny (i'm sorry) that i finished leverage literally the night the implosion news came out

FEELINGS ABOUT SUSAN PEVENSIE AGAIN
In TVotDT, it's explained that the reason only Edmund and Lucy are staying at their aunt's is because their parents were headed to America, and while Peter was studying with Prof. Kirke (Who had somehow lost his large house and sadly didn't have room for all of them), they did have enough money to bring all three children. So Susan was the only one chosen.
Which would be fine, which would make sense because she's the second oldest, which would be whatever because that sometimes just how things go when you have siblings
EXCEPT IT'S SPECIFICALLY STATED THAT SUSAN WAS NO GOOD AT SCHOOL AND SHE WAS PRETTY. ERGO THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY FOR HER TO MAKE SOMETHING OF HERSELF
And it's also stated that up until that trip, Susan still regularly talked to her siblings about Narnia, and seemed to fully believe in it.
We saw how Lucy was tempted because she didn't feel pretty like Susan, but she had Edmund and Caspian and all her friends to rely on.
Susan was on her own
Also, LOOK ME IN THE EYES AND TELL ME THAT QUEEN SUSAN THE GENTLE, SUSAN THE RENOWNED ARCHER, SUSAN THE DIPLOMAT WHO WAS KNOW FOR HER LOOKS BUT TURNED DOWN EVERY SUITOR WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY HANDLING THE SITUATION SO AS TO AVOID WAR
TELL ME THAT SUSAN WAS BAD AT SCHOOL
Or, maybe, she learned what was expected from her. She was the oldest daughter, and there was a lot of pressure on her.
Imagine being all alone, in an unfamiliar country, where all people think of you is your looks. Where you don't have your siblings to fall back on; this isn't an ambassadorial trip, this is you being picked because you need to be shown off. Because you are not trusted to do anything worthwhile with your life, so you must get married somehow.
And when the only options presented with you are lipstick and pretty dresses and high heels, wouldn't you rather take to them on your own terms than have them forced on you?
I imagine Susan liked going to parties because it reminded her of being a queen. She was smarter and wiser than half the dimwitted boys who looked at her and only saw a skirt, and she enjoyed talking circles around them and giving backhanded compliments they were too dull to understand. I imagine it gave her some sense of control back.
She may not be a queen in this world, but she'd demand respect regardless. Pretty make-up and fancy dresses became her armor and disguise, and she envisioned each cocktail party as a battlefield: a war won with wits and words.
And she was good at it. She attracted attention while remaining aloof and untouchable. She had everyone hanging on her every word, and quite a few handsome young men throwing themselves at her feet, getting down on one knee.
But she didn't want that. And, too late, she realized she had sealed herself into this fate. Susan was the "Pretty One", the airhead who somehow twists boys around her little finger without even realizing she was doing it.
And I'd bet that, after all that, after clinging to her memories of Narnia and of her siblings being kings and queens in court, she'd be exhausted when she got back.
And then to hear that Ed and Lucy had been on another adventure without her, while she had felt so alone, I'd imagine she'd be bitter.
She needed Caspian by her side, directing her through the fancy people and the debutantes; she would have loved to have Reepicheep following behind, defending her honour; it would have been so much more interesting to talk to a star than the silly, giggling girls she was intended to be friends with.
And it would be hard to find your place, when you didn't fit in that world of kings and queens and talking mice anymore, but you didn't want to be forced into the world of glitter and dresses and getting married so young because the rest of society deemed you too pretty to be smart
I wonder sometimes if Susan lost her way because of all the outside forces pressuring her to leave Narnia in the past

I ignore about 95% of the conversations surrounding Arya having killed people because, outside of Arya stans, people refuse to include the context of the very violent circumstances she experiences + her trauma which influences her actions. She wasn't destined to be a killer and her being forced on the run, having to survive during a war (at times on her own), having to witness countless people being tortured and murdered, being enslaved as a prisoner of war, having to witness the deaths of her family, etc. are all hugely important factors. Not to mention the times when her life is literally on the line and she has to make tough decisions to ensure her survival. The only time her trauma is acknowledged is when people are using it to prove she's "too far gone", otherwise it's essays on how she hasn't suffered that much. It's so boring how people ignore well-developed characters just to reduce them to one or two aspects of their story. And this treatment is only for certain characters; let someone mention Sansa being part of the plot to poison Sweetrobin and all of a sudden, people can understand being forced to make questionable decisions under difficult circumstances.

so vague, but i love your takes/thoughts on moira so much so if u have anymore pls bless me with them?
erm well one thing im super adamant about Moira's character is that she is a total loser. She fumbles all of her relationships by being overly conceited and making mountains out of ant hills and she manages to ruin her reputation at any given moment and needs Gabe to pick up the pieces every time. She's a hopeless romantic who will wax poetic over the simplest of things when she finds herself falling for someone, but she is convinced she is destined to be alone so she squanders any chance of a romantic relationship (usually) on purpose, and then will victimize herself like See? I told you, people like me are meant to be alone. I have a headcanon that after blackwatch she lived in her car and Gabriel (Reaper at that point) had to physically pull her out of her car and get her a spot in Talon. However, not many people can see just how much of a loser she is because she has such a well kept demeaner about herself and is incredibly well spoken, and makes a point to make sure everyone around her knows they are beneath her. She is my girlfailure.
